Beauty Pageants Objectify Women
Many people (most of which are women believe that) beauty pageants objectify women . The
definition of objectify is: to present as an object. What s really happening is more similar to
glorification. The definition of glorification is: to make something or someone appear better than it
actually is. Beauty pageants do not objectify women because the contestants are not judged solely on
physical appearance, the contestants are being glorified not objectified and all contestants pass a
screening to make sure they fulfill all criteria beforehand. One of the most common reasons that make
beauty pageants objectifying is that the contestants are judged solely on their physical appearance.
While that may have been true a few years ago now ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many people believe that beauty pageants are objectifying since they often give young people the
wrong definition of beauty, however it is just showing them a glorified version. Glorification is still a
problem not it is not as bad as objectification. However some people like to glorify themselves either
in real life, or by using photoshop and other online editors to glorify themselves digitally. Many
people believe thats it is objectifying for each contestant to undergo a screening before they enter to
make sure that they fulfil all criteria beforehand, However this is to make sure that it is fair for all
contestants. It is also to make they all meet the standards for the pageant. This is not objectification
because it is mandatory for all contestants and if they contestants refuse to do the screening they will
not be able to participate. Hopefully after reading this text one will know that beauty pageants do not
objectify women. What people believe to be objectification is more likely to be a case of glorification.
Glorification is still a problem though it is not as bad as objectification. Steps should still be taken to
try and stop doing it. Beauty pageants may have lots of problems but objectification is not one of

The Effects Of News Media On Today s Society
The news media s role in today s society is interlocked and essential to the conveying of information.
The news media has access to television broadcasting and has people to go find stories to broadcast.
However, as time has progressed, the news media has become more and more opinionated.
Consequently, the bias of the news media in their reporting s has tainted the opinions of the American
people. By creating a strict set of laws pertaining to the reporting of news, bias within reports will
have to decrease; causing a less opinionated audience, people feeling better about themselves and
humanity, and the United States growth as a stronger country.
The news media in today s world is far too opinionated. On a regular basis, the news media and other
news outlets are often discussing opinions, their own opinions, and other s opinions about stories and
news reports rather than the reports themselves. During a discussion about Donald Trump s
immigration policy on August 25th, 2016, on the CNN newsroom, one of the reporters said that we
heard this shift on his immigration policy. However, one of the other reporters defended Mr. Trump by
saying. First, let me correct the record and goes on to do so and they argue back and forth (Person
Discusses). In this report, what Donald Trump said nor any part of his speech was shared. The report
was wholly opinion based. Although, the news media will share clips and snips of stories in many of
their stories.
However, many news

Operation Astonia
On September 5, 1944 Allied bombs began to fall from the sky onto the port town of Le Havre,
France. The second most important port city in France, according to www.encyclopedia.com, was
targeted by the Ally troops and bombed in order to keep the German Army from using the port city as
a gateway to an invasion of Great Britain. Many civilians fled the town on foot after the Germans
captured the town in 1940, but many others who remained in the town were injured or killed during
the bombings. Nearly 5,000 civilians met their deaths during the attack deemed Operation Astonia,
nearly 80,000 people lost their homes. (www.worldheritagesite.org) The bombings continued over five
days and destroyed 12,500 buildings. Le Havre was only one of the 1,570 cities/towns that were
bombed in France during World War II. (en.wikipedia.org) Throughout World War II the town of Le

My Career In Nursing
During my long journey in nursing school, I realized that the idea I had of the nursing career and the
reality of it are two different things. Before starting in this path the only knowledge that I had about
the medical field was of caring and helping some sick family members. Eventually, those experiences
awoke a feeling in me to help those in need. Later on, that feeling turned into a calling, and that was
what influenced me to pursue a career in nursing. Nursing is the nation s largest health care
profession. At all times more nurses are needed to meet the growing demand for nursing care. But in
order to be a nurse you cannot enter into this profession with a money sign on your head. People are
not machines. What guide my practice are my personal philosophies, which are centered on my
strengths beliefs and personal values.
Personally, I think that to be in this field of work you need patience and critical thinking. Nurses need
to be caring, and we need to be prepared to handle any type of situation. In the health care field is
important to use a hands on approach. Nurses are not machines we are human beings. It is important
to treat our patients as human beings too, with a caring touch and respect (Cable, 2009). Nurses act as
patient advocates we are their voice, we need to be sure to meet all our client needs within our scope
of practice. As nurses we need to put our cultural values aside and use ethical values, we cannot be
judges or juries. I am going to use my

The Hersey And Blanchard Model As A Situational Leadership...
Developed by Professor Paul Hersey and Ken Blanchard in the 1970s, The Hersey and Blanchard
Model is defined as a situational leadership model which suggests that there is no single optimal
leadership style, and successful leaders adjust their styles based on follower maturity (Investopedia,
n.d.). This represents a direct link to my management style, as I consciously tailor a customized
approach to every new task, based upon the scope of the challenge, the resources at my disposal, and
the skillsets available to me. I m comfortable acting unilaterally, delegating work, or acting as a
participative leader, dependent on whichever approach is best for the task.
Strength 2: Able to Quickly Identify Team Strengths/Weaknesses
Delegating is one of the four leadership styles under the Hersey and Blanchard model, and it is
defined as a style where leaders are responsible for their teams, but provide minimum guidance to
workers or help to solve problems (Spahr, 2015). To delegate work effectively, a leader must be able
to quickly assess the strengths and weaknesses of the individuals he is working with to best ensure the
efficiency and quality of the work performed. I pride myself in a near uncanny ability to quickly
access a person s professional strengths and weaknesses after only a brief period of observation and
work, and if I am ever in doubt, I m not above asking direct questions to ascertain which individuals
are the best resources to use in accomplishing a

Flyer Research Papers
The very first motorized aircraft, made by the Wright brothers and named Flyer I, was a brilliant
vehicle and was the dawn of airplane travel. Since its final flight in 1903, there have been many
different versions of the airplane (which evolved faster than any other mode of travel, which is due to
warfare, as WWI came quickly after its development), all of them for advanced (and safer) than the
Flyer I, however, none of those come first so the Wright brother s plane wins. It contained an engine
that was the first of its time, a wing design that was efficient and effective, and an interesting control
system. The Flyer I was not without faults, though. In fact, it had many. On the other hand, it had
many successes over its flight. The wing design was both innovative and effective, making it
tremendous for the first ever motorized flight. For ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, it was the very first aircraft to use in a aluminum crankcase (a covering over a
crankshaft). Later on, aluminum became commonly used in aircrafts due to its light weight. The very
simple engine produced 12 horsepower, despite not having a fuel pump, carburetor (a device used in
an engine that is used to combine air with liquid fuel), or spark plugs (a device that burns the air/liquid
fuel mixture made by the carburetor). Gasoline was gravity fed into the engine from a quart and a half
tank that was mounted on a wing strut of an upper wing. From there, the gasoline fell into a chamber
next to the cylinders (a piston chamber in a combustion/steam engine) and mixed with air. The
crankcase would then vaporize the gasoline/air mixture and the mixture would pass into the cylinders.
Now that the mixture was in the cylinders, the plane could be started and clone, but to start the engine
initially, the Wright brothers had to use a coil and four dry cell batteries that were not kept on the

Right Real Estate Attorney
Investing in property is a very important decision in one s life. You are going to invest all your
savings, in some cases a hefty loan, into buying a property that you will cherish for the rest of your
life. You won t want to spend that money buying something that s not worthwhile. Getting cheated is
often possible especially when you are involved with investments. Even if you are not really cheated
with the property, you can always be cheated while signing an agreement or making that buying
decision. You could be asked to agree to clauses that are not legal or, something like that. It is always
good to hire a real estate law firm who would give you the perfect legal advice in such cases. After all
when you are investing a lot of money buying a property, investing a small amount in an attorney is
good idea to protect the legal issues. When hiring a law firm or its attorney, there are some aspects that
you should not ignore. Here s how you select the right real estate attorney for your property related
investment.

when selling or buying a property. You can ask them about it and, get a real good deal. Hiring a real

about your property and the legalities of that property. So, you need to make the right choice in

Molecule X s Effect On Caudal Axons
Background
Precise control over the routes taken by growing neurons is tightly controlled (Steward, 1989). In the
brain extracellular cues play an important part prompting attractive or repulsive behaviours in cell
migration. In addition, they are necessary for cell adhesion, axon guidance and branching (Erskine
Herrera, 2007). For neurons that navigate over long distances, axons can be guided by
chemoattractants that draw axonal navigation in its direction or chemorepellents that deter axonal
growth in its region.
Hypothesis
Molecule X acts specifically on caudal axons as a chemotropic substance that directs them to
innervate the rostral tectum.
Experiment
As instructed by Rosoff et al (2009) a pipette assay may be suitable to perform. ... Show more content

Providing convection currents are carefully controlled a relatively stable gradient can be established
by diffusion from the pipette. The response of the axon to this gradient is then examined over
timescales of about 1 h. Furthermore, this test could be repeated using the mutant axons.
Possible Outcomes
The first possibility could be that axons grow towards Molecule X. This would support our hypothesis
that Molecule X is an attractant that may be present in the rostral tectum.
Conversely, the failure of axons to grow towards Molecule x may not support our hypothesis.
Furthermore, axon growth towards the direction of Molecule x and in other directions may support our
hypothesis as it still attracts growth. However, it may also suggest that it may not be a strong

Brownfield wants to treat Mem better than his father treated his mother, but His dreams soon are

Introduction This research paper centres on the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the single
undertaking rule. I will start this paper by giving a brief introduction of the World Trade Organization,
its membership, functions and structure and its way of operation. Further, I will give a concise
introduction on the Single Undertaking rule before asserting my view on the effect the Single
Undertaking Rule in the WTO. I will go into great lengths to explain why I believe the removal of this
rule would lead to a more effective WTO and multilateral trading system. To support my view, I will

why the rule has a more adverse effect; how it leads ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By joining the WTO, countries sign over a certain degree of their sovereignty to be under the WTO
rules and regulations. They agree to be bound by the rules and regulations agreed upon at the
negotiation rounds and cannot create national policies that contradict their obligations. The WTO
comes about its rules through rounds of negotiations on certain trade topics or subjects until an
agreement is reached upon. The latest completed round of negotiations was the Uruguay Round in
1994, which was predicted to influence world growth and development for decades to come and to
have brought about the biggest reform of the world s trading system since GATT was created . The
Single Undertaking Rule, its History and its Purpose (Benefits) The Single Undertaking Rule is a
concept of decision making adopted by the WTO where the WTO Agreement in its entirety is binding
upon all signatory member states. The negotiations process that leads to an agreement is described as a
single undertaking . This means the parties come together to deliberate on a number of trade aspects,
to be signed by each country with a single signature without any option to pick and choose between
different subjects. The Single Undertaking Rule is a relatively new concept in the international
multilateral trade system. This rule did not exist under the old GATT and was introduced in the
commencement of the Uruguay Round . Under the old GATT system, contracting parties were

Comparison Of Erikson And Kohlberg s Theory
Erik Erikson and Lawrence Kohlberg are famous theorist who have contributed a lot to the nursing
profession. Erikson s theory is about psychosocial development whereas Kohlberg s theory is about
moral development. Erikson has eight stages, that he believed were accomplished at different periods
of life, in his theory of psychosocial development starting with; trust versus mistrust during infancy;
autonomy versus shame or doubt experienced at a toddler age; initiative versus inferiority during
preschool and school aged period; identity versus identity confusion during adolescence; intimacy
versus isolation experienced as a young adult; generativity versus stagnation experienced as a middle
aged adult; and lastly integrity versus despair ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another stage of Erikson s theory that is similar to stages of Kohlberg s theory is identity versus
identity confusion where the adolescent learns the essence of what makes them who they are from
bringing together everything they have learnt and what kind of person they will be. Kohlberg s stages
that are similar is the conventional stage of good boy/ nice girl morality where the school aged child
follows rules to be accepted by those around them, and the postconventional stage of social contract
orientation where the adolescent will follow society customs for the benefit of others. These three
stages are closely associated as someone s identity is usually shaped by the customs of society. People
will do what is expected of them to be accepted which in turn contributes to their identity. The last
similarity between the two theories is Erikson s stage of generativity versus stagnation where the
middle aged adult broadens their concern from themselves to the community and world, and Kohlberg
s postconventional stage of universal ethical principles where the adult s actions are determined by
their own ethical principles and standards of behaviour. These two stages complement each other as a
person cannot have concerns for the community and world if they do not have a sense of their own
beliefs and values as a foundation. A person needs to know what they value to then go on and have
concerns that

Byzantine Mosaics And San Marco Basilica Essay
Byzantine Mosaics and San Marco Basilica
Intro Mosaics have been present in Italy dating back to the Romans. They were originally used in
palaces, temples, and other monumental structures as a way of decoration and paving of surfaces such
as walls, ceilings, and floors, however they can also serve as pictorial art. Mosaics are pictures formed
by marble, stones, and vitric tesserae of various colors, placed on a layer of stucco, putty or other
durable building material. Then the surfaced is finished by smoothing and polishing the stones.
Byzantine mosaics, which are present in the San Marco Basilica, utilize vitric tesserae, a glass like
tile, instead of marble and stone which the Romans and Greeks traditionally used. Mosaic techniques

Mosaics located on the wall and ceilings of a space are more polished and elaborate in color giving the

a shape of their own. They are not soft like paint or clay and cannot be fused with their material equals
but only placed at their side. It remains a building stone in the fact that the material cannot adapt itself
to the intricate turns of cutting tools. Each tesserae is shaped by the artist s hammer out of a block of
colored stone or vitreous paste. Byzantine mosaics have a rough character to them whereas other
styles such as Hellenistic mosaics have a smooth polished look to them. Byzantine mosaics outline the
human figure in dark contours which removes its softness and reveals its own character by detaching
itself from the object represented. The tesserae are larger in size and do not form a solid surface,
instead are placed freely with clear intervals between each piece. The tesserae are placed irregularly,
tilting against each other, some protruding more than others which creates a rough surface accentuated
by light and shadow. This technique breaks up

Conflict is explored alongside and is also the cause of the progression of the story in Romeo and

males of the same family, caused by the predetermined ideas of superiority between genders. I have

genders. As we know from the beginning, Juliet loves Romeo and not Paris, when her mother brings

the conceptual ideas, influences, meanings and beliefs we can see an emphasis on the story behind the

This was what photojournalism of the time embodied; the wider picture. 9 Again there is sensitive
composition, mainly in the form of contrast between the stark, denuded landscape and the colossal
machinery, emphasised by the machine s dominance within the frame. On his second trip to the Soviet
Union, Cartier Bresson presented a very different Russia from the one shown in work from his first
trip. His first visit was significant as he was the first Western photographer permitted to enter the
Soviet Union since Joseph Stalin had died a year earlier;10 maybe he did not want to then produce
bleak and melancholy images, which eventually came after his second visit in the early 1970s. Saint

Conwell s Acres Of Diamonds
Conwell begins his speech speaking of how many men make the same mistake when it comes to
attaining wealth. Conwell gives many stories and examples of which this has happened. He believes
that this universal mistake is not investigating into the surrounding society. For instance, a man
creating a business within a society in which there are already many businesses in that area that sell
the same thing. Whereas, a man that can understand the needs of a society and create a business
accordingly can generate a lot more wealth. In reference to the acres of diamonds he is suggested there

Whereas, Conwell stresses the idea that wealth is everywhere and there is a vast amount of it,
however, who attains it lays in knowledge and opportunity. The differing perspectives are due to their
contrasting priorities of life and life motives. Kuyper extenuates that his priority is his faith. Because
of his beliefs, his view on poverty is shaped by it. All of his ideals in The Problem of Poverty is
defending with a Christian perspective and Biblical references. His motive in life is to fulfill the
calling of a Christian, and he believes one of these callings is to help others, such as those who live in
poverty. Conwell s priorities differ greatly influencing his theories on the subject matter of wealth and
poverty. He prioritizes hard work and knowledge compared to religion. Since his morals are based on
these, he believes poverty is self conflicted or the doing of someone rather than circumstance. Poverty
in his eyes is easily solved in his eyes with knowledge. Alternatively, to Kuyper s idea of overcoming
poverty with the help of others, Conwell is an individualistic issue and can be solved by the individual
themselves. This is attainable through knowledge and taking opportunities presented. Kuyper stresses
the value of money and the power it has, whereas Kuyper dejects the materialistic side of money and

The author of this article decided that the drug war that is continuously going on in Mexico produced
more than 999, 999 deaths alone between 2006 and 2012, and the extreme violence has sparked the
notion that Mexico is nothing but a failed state wracked by terrorism, drug terrorism to be exact
(Campbell, Hansen, 2014, p. 159). By examining how the narco violence affect Mexico the articles

Analysis Of Restricted Boltzmann Machines
Analysis of RNNs revealed that the hidden to output function, hidden to hidden transition, and input to
hidden function must be made deeper [3]. Based on the following input sequence: x = (x1; : : : ; xT), a
standard RNN is responsible for computing the vector sequence: h = (h1; : : : ; hT) as well as the
output vector sequence: y = (y1; : : : ; yT) using two equations (depicted below) from t = 1 to T [3].
(1) ht = H(Wxhxt+Whhht 1+bh) (2) yt = Whyht+by H. Restricted Boltzmann Machines An RBM is a
specialized Boltzmann Machine comprised of two respective layers, a layer of visible and hidden

the presenter feels about the subject material being presented. This analysis helps the NLP formulate a
more accurate and appropriate response. Many sentimental analyses work by looking at each
sentiments of the sentence by giving positive or negative points to each word. Points are then summed
up for each sentence and based on that score it is deemed either positive, negative, or neutral. But
sentiments are often very subtle and cannot be detected using simple point analysis [1]. To better grasp
sentiments in NSL computer scientist once again turned to the deep learning process and developed a
tree structured long short term memory analysis (LSTM). LSTM combines deep learning with the
points system. After the deep learning process has assigned meaning to a word it is given a weight
based upon positive or negative feel. It is then placed

Summary Of The Multitasking Generation By Claudia Wallis
In The Multitasking Generation , Claudia Wallis provides key points on the difference between
Generation M and Multitasking. Wallis also challenges the idea that by multitasking, things get done.
In the first part of the essay Wallis provides information on a family living in California. A man and a
woman with twins, one girl and one boy. Wallis observes that most of the time spent at home by the
children is on a computer with music blaring and chatting with friends on their cell phones. Wallis
states, By all standard space time calculations, the four members of the family occupy the same three

SCI Case Study
Dear Uncle Steve and Aunt May,
I am sorry to hear about Cousin Jimmy s spinal cord injury (SCI), and I understand you are searching
for a cure using stem cell therapy, so I ll try and provide you with as much information as I know.
Currently in Australia and around the world, there are no proven cures for SCI using stem cells, this is
according to the Australia and New Zealand Spinal Cord Injury Network (Stem Cell Interventions for
Spinal Cord Injury, 2009) and icord.org (Steeves et al., 2012), both leading organisations in SCI
treatment. There are however, clinical trials and research going on around the world that use stem cells
to treat different aspects of SCI. A list of some of these studies is available on the icord.org

The recent development in the ability to grow brain organoids promises exciting new areas of research
into drug and therapy treatments in vivo (in a laboratory) without experimentation on patients, though
this technology is still some way off use in SCI, and are mainly used in neurodegenerative diseases
(Lee et al., 2017)
If you are still looking for a stem cell treatment online, it is best to know what to look for, and what to
avoid. Many online sites offer stem cell treatments/trails, but are not regulated, as an example I have
provided links to some of the sites that should be avoided.
1 Beike Biotechnology (https://stemcelltreatmentnow.com) is a company in China that promises
treatments for a range of issues from Autism to traumatic brain injury all using the same stem cell
treatment methods along with supportive rehabilitation such as acupuncture. They provide no
scientific papers or data to support their treatment and instead have pages of patient testimonials
detailing outcomes (Stemcelltreatmentnow.com, 2017).
2 StemCells21 (https://stemcells21.com/). While at first look this site looks more legitimate then
others it still has the same issues. The site claims they can treat a variety of ailments and combine
stem cell treatments with a variety of other techniques such as shock wave therapy. This site even
provides research information, however it is all published by

The Integumentary System In The Human Body
The Integumentary System plays an extensive role in our everyday lives. It consists of hair, skin, nails,
and glands. Therefore, it is one of the largest organ systems that can be seen and in the human body.
All these structures help protect the inner portion of the body. But the most important structure overall
is the skin.
The skin is used as a waterproof layer protecting everything on the inside of the body. The skin
regulates the temperature of the body and the moisture. It also works as a barrier keeping certain
diseases from entering the body, like bacteria and viruses. Likewise it also helps against harmful rays
like ultraviolet radiation. The skin is a sensory organ meaning it can distinguish if it is cold or hot,

  • 2. Beauty Pageants Objectify Women Many people (most of which are women believe that) beauty pageants objectify women . The definition of objectify is: to present as an object. What s really happening is more similar to glorification. The definition of glorification is: to make something or someone appear better than it actually is. Beauty pageants do not objectify women because the contestants are not judged solely on physical appearance, the contestants are being glorified not objectified and all contestants pass a screening to make sure they fulfill all criteria beforehand. One of the most common reasons that make beauty pageants objectifying is that the contestants are judged solely on their physical appearance. While that may have been true a few years ago now ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many people believe that beauty pageants are objectifying since they often give young people the wrong definition of beauty, however it is just showing them a glorified version. Glorification is still a problem not it is not as bad as objectification. However some people like to glorify themselves either in real life, or by using photoshop and other online editors to glorify themselves digitally. Many people believe thats it is objectifying for each contestant to undergo a screening before they enter to make sure that they fulfil all criteria beforehand, However this is to make sure that it is fair for all contestants. It is also to make they all meet the standards for the pageant. This is not objectification because it is mandatory for all contestants and if they contestants refuse to do the screening they will not be able to participate. Hopefully after reading this text one will know that beauty pageants do not objectify women. What people believe to be objectification is more likely to be a case of glorification. • 4. The Effects Of News Media On Today s Society The news media s role in today s society is interlocked and essential to the conveying of information. The news media has access to television broadcasting and has people to go find stories to broadcast. However, as time has progressed, the news media has become more and more opinionated. Consequently, the bias of the news media in their reporting s has tainted the opinions of the American people. By creating a strict set of laws pertaining to the reporting of news, bias within reports will have to decrease; causing a less opinionated audience, people feeling better about themselves and humanity, and the United States growth as a stronger country. The news media in today s world is far too opinionated. On a regular basis, the news media and other news outlets are often discussing opinions, their own opinions, and other s opinions about stories and news reports rather than the reports themselves. During a discussion about Donald Trump s immigration policy on August 25th, 2016, on the CNN newsroom, one of the reporters said that we heard this shift on his immigration policy. However, one of the other reporters defended Mr. Trump by saying. First, let me correct the record and goes on to do so and they argue back and forth (Person Discusses). In this report, what Donald Trump said nor any part of his speech was shared. The report was wholly opinion based. Although, the news media will share clips and snips of stories in many of their stories. However, many news ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. My Career In Nursing During my long journey in nursing school, I realized that the idea I had of the nursing career and the reality of it are two different things. Before starting in this path the only knowledge that I had about the medical field was of caring and helping some sick family members. Eventually, those experiences awoke a feeling in me to help those in need. Later on, that feeling turned into a calling, and that was what influenced me to pursue a career in nursing. Nursing is the nation s largest health care profession. At all times more nurses are needed to meet the growing demand for nursing care. But in order to be a nurse you cannot enter into this profession with a money sign on your head. People are not machines. What guide my practice are my personal philosophies, which are centered on my strengths beliefs and personal values. Personally, I think that to be in this field of work you need patience and critical thinking. Nurses need to be caring, and we need to be prepared to handle any type of situation. In the health care field is important to use a hands on approach. Nurses are not machines we are human beings. It is important to treat our patients as human beings too, with a caring touch and respect (Cable, 2009). Nurses act as patient advocates we are their voice, we need to be sure to meet all our client needs within our scope of practice. As nurses we need to put our cultural values aside and use ethical values, we cannot be judges or juries. I am going to use my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Hersey And Blanchard Model As A Situational Leadership... Developed by Professor Paul Hersey and Ken Blanchard in the 1970s, The Hersey and Blanchard Model is defined as a situational leadership model which suggests that there is no single optimal leadership style, and successful leaders adjust their styles based on follower maturity (Investopedia, n.d.). This represents a direct link to my management style, as I consciously tailor a customized approach to every new task, based upon the scope of the challenge, the resources at my disposal, and the skillsets available to me. I m comfortable acting unilaterally, delegating work, or acting as a participative leader, dependent on whichever approach is best for the task. Strength 2: Able to Quickly Identify Team Strengths/Weaknesses Delegating is one of the four leadership styles under the Hersey and Blanchard model, and it is defined as a style where leaders are responsible for their teams, but provide minimum guidance to workers or help to solve problems (Spahr, 2015). To delegate work effectively, a leader must be able to quickly assess the strengths and weaknesses of the individuals he is working with to best ensure the efficiency and quality of the work performed. I pride myself in a near uncanny ability to quickly access a person s professional strengths and weaknesses after only a brief period of observation and work, and if I am ever in doubt, I m not above asking direct questions to ascertain which individuals are the best resources to use in accomplishing a ... Since its final flight in 1903, there have been many different versions of the airplane (which evolved faster than any other mode of travel, which is due to warfare, as WWI came quickly after its development), all of them for advanced (and safer) than the Flyer I, however, none of those come first so the Wright brother s plane wins. It contained an engine that was the first of its time, a wing design that was efficient and effective, and an interesting control system. The Flyer I was not without faults, though. Later on, aluminum became commonly used in aircrafts due to its light weight. The very simple engine produced 12 horsepower, despite not having a fuel pump, carburetor (a device used in an engine that is used to combine air with liquid fuel), or spark plugs (a device that burns the air/liquid fuel mixture made by the carburetor). Gasoline was gravity fed into the engine from a quart and a half tank that was mounted on a wing strut of an upper wing. From there, the gasoline fell into a chamber next to the cylinders (a piston chamber in a combustion/steam engine) and mixed with air. The crankcase would then vaporize the gasoline/air mixture and the mixture would pass into the cylinders. Now that the mixture was in the cylinders, the plane could be started and clone, but to start the engine initially, the Wright brothers had to use a coil and four dry cell batteries that were not kept on the ... • 12. Molecule X s Effect On Caudal Axons Background Precise control over the routes taken by growing neurons is tightly controlled (Steward, 1989). In the brain extracellular cues play an important part prompting attractive or repulsive behaviours in cell migration. In addition, they are necessary for cell adhesion, axon guidance and branching (Erskine Herrera, 2007). For neurons that navigate over long distances, axons can be guided by chemoattractants that draw axonal navigation in its direction or chemorepellents that deter axonal growth in its region. Hypothesis Molecule X acts specifically on caudal axons as a chemotropic substance that directs them to innervate the rostral tectum. Providing convection currents are carefully controlled a relatively stable gradient can be established by diffusion from the pipette. The response of the axon to this gradient is then examined over timescales of about 1 h. Furthermore, this test could be repeated using the mutant axons. Possible Outcomes The first possibility could be that axons grow towards Molecule X. This would support our hypothesis that Molecule X is an attractant that may be present in the rostral tectum. Conversely, the failure of axons to grow towards Molecule x may not support our hypothesis. Furthermore, axon growth towards the direction of Molecule x and in other directions may support our hypothesis as it still attracts growth. Further, I will give a concise introduction on the Single Undertaking rule before asserting my view on the effect the Single Undertaking Rule in the WTO. I will go into great lengths to explain why I believe the removal of this rule would lead to a more effective WTO and multilateral trading system. The latest completed round of negotiations was the Uruguay Round in 1994, which was predicted to influence world growth and development for decades to come and to have brought about the biggest reform of the world s trading system since GATT was created . The Single Undertaking Rule, its History and its Purpose (Benefits) The Single Undertaking Rule is a concept of decision making adopted by the WTO where the WTO Agreement in its entirety is binding upon all signatory member states. The negotiations process that leads to an agreement is described as a single undertaking . Kohlberg s stages that are similar is the conventional stage of good boy/ nice girl morality where the school aged child follows rules to be accepted by those around them, and the postconventional stage of social contract orientation where the adolescent will follow society customs for the benefit of others. These three stages are closely associated as someone s identity is usually shaped by the customs of society. People will do what is expected of them to be accepted which in turn contributes to their identity. The last similarity between the two theories is Erikson s stage of generativity versus stagnation where the middle aged adult broadens their concern from themselves to the community and world, and Kohlberg s postconventional stage of universal ethical principles where the adult s actions are determined by their own ethical principles and standards of behaviour. These two stages complement each other as a person cannot have concerns for the community and world if they do not have a sense of their own beliefs and values as a foundation. It remains a building stone in the fact that the material cannot adapt itself to the intricate turns of cutting tools. Each tesserae is shaped by the artist s hammer out of a block of colored stone or vitreous paste. Byzantine mosaics have a rough character to them whereas other styles such as Hellenistic mosaics have a smooth polished look to them. Byzantine mosaics outline the human figure in dark contours which removes its softness and reveals its own character by detaching itself from the object represented. The tesserae are larger in size and do not form a solid surface, instead are placed freely with clear intervals between each piece.
