Research Paper On Scenario Planning
1. Skill Acquired: Scenario Planning
Scenario planning is the core and most important skills during the scenario exercise. This is among the
skill that I have newly founded and practiced. In short, scenario planning is a skill to not predict the
future, instead it is a skill to determine multiple possible futures that might happen considering the
different plausible outcomes of current actions.
2. The Learning Process
2.1. The Challenges
In order to execute a proper scenario planning, certain steps are needed to be followed. Skipping any
steps will result in improper scenario planning and future end states. Each steps also need to be fully
understand which failing to do so will risking of having issues at the later stage of the exercise.
Personally, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, the use and value of scenario planning can be implemented at any levels in the organisations
and can be specific to determine the possible futures of certain areas.
Nowadays, any business is consider a Technology business where the organisations rely on their
Information Technology (IT) platform to run the business. Contrariwise, most Chief Executive Officer
(CEO) and Board of Directors of an organisation still does not have or lack of IT background.
Explaining the need of latest systems or security software doesn t translate into profit for them.
Scenario planning will help the Technology Risk Managers in presenting the worst possible future
states if the systems is not updated with the latest security patch which will imposed lose to the
organisation.
Since IT industry is a fast emerging industry, any lack of security and protection can cause the
organisation to lose in opportunity and revenues which we called zero day vulnerabilities. The practice
of scenario planning in an organisation for their IT counterpart, will help in identifying the situations
which might imposed risks to the organisation either in IT areas or other non IT areas. A well
protected system will give assurance to the customers in having business with the

A Community Of Organisms With Their Environment
An ecosystem is a system formed by the interaction of a community of organisms with their
environment. Ecology is a branch of biology having to deal with the relations and interactions
between organisms, their environment, and other organisms. A community in an ecosystem is an
assemblage of interacting populations occupying a given area. A habitat is an area or environment
where an organism or an ecological community lives. There is a large diversity in an ecosystem, for
example, the species, environment, and the plant diversity in the ecosystem. It s difficult to model
ecosystems because the model needs to be accurate and as well as precise.
In an ecosystem, organisms have many ways to get energy. One way is a producer, who makes their
own food. Only plants have this ability. Another way is being a consumer, who eats other organisms
for food and energy. An example of a consumer would be animals and humans. Lastly, another way
organisms can get food is being a decomposer, one who eats dead plants or animals. Decomposers are
mostly bacteria, fungus, or invertebrates. A food web is a series or organisms related by predator prey
and consumer resource interactions. It is entirety of irrelated food chains in an ecological community.
There is also a trophic level. A trophic level is any class of organisms that occupy the same position in
a food chain such a primary consumers, secondary consumers, and tertiary consumers. An autotroph is
an organism that is capable of making

Stewart And Hurtado
Stewart (1998) examined the applications of feminist theories in personality research, stating how the
incorporation of these concepts may enrich our understanding, while helping us to overcome our
traditional individualism and universalism . In the second chapter of The Handbook of Diversity in
Feminist Psychology, Hurtado (2010) demonstrates many of the concepts discussed by Stewart in this
week s reading. One of Stewart s main points involves reframing one s own perspective in order to
better construct the research question. She believed researchers often construct research problems
from the perspective of educated, middle class professionals and many constructs measured have
different meanings for participants with varying backgrounds (more often idiosyncratic than concrete).
Stewart advocates researchers analyze their own positions in order understand the research problem
more comprehensively. When discussing multicultural feminist theory, Hurtado (2010) touches on
alterations to research methods by implementing self reflexivity and states collaborating with
additional authors, especially across academic disciplines, will broaden researcher s perspectives. This

Potassium Sorbate and Kamantigue Leaves Crude Extract...
CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
Background of the Study Banana is a popular fruit. It s easy to peel, easy to eat, and easy to find,
typically located in a prominent spot in the produce section of a grocery store. With the wheels of the
grocery cart still moving, we don t stop to think about the battles the banana grower had to fight to
provide a perfect fruit for our convenient consumption. Fusarium wilt or Panama disease is a severe
disease of banana plants caused by the fungus Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cubense. This disease kills
susceptible banana plants and there is no cure up to this time and can wipe out entire plantations and
neighboring areas if control and containment is not properly managed. The disease is spread by
infected planting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Megan Fox Cultural Analysis
Cultural Analysis Essay In today s society, people are pressured into looking their best all the time.
Advertisements, news articles and magazines set the standards for how people should appear to be
considered beautiful. Even in Disney stories, the protagonist is perceived as a beautiful princess while
the antagonist is a wretched witch. Corporations have made billions of dollars off of making people
feel better about their bodies through plastic surgery. Society has been given access to something that
can make them appear more beautiful on the outside, but is it really worth it? People get caught up in
the latest celebrity news. Megan Fox was voted Prettiest Woman in the World in 2013. When girls
hear about this, they tend to set these expectations for themselves. They copy her clothes, her hair
style and her makeup. When guys see a girl like Megan Fox, they tend to set unreasonably high
expectations for girls around them. Little does most of the society realize that Megan Fox has under

The German People did “Nazi” Hitler Coming
In 1932, Germany was in turmoil. Mass inflation had caused the prices of all commodities to rise,
while the German people lived paycheck to paycheck. This type of socio economic climate is
notorious for breeding radical political ideologies. Ever since Germany lost the Great War (now called
World War I) in 1918, the Germans had been required to pay reparations to the countries they had
fought. While the US and UK prospered during the 1920s, Germany suffered. In order to pay off its
debts, Germany raised taxes on the people and this caused businesses to increase their prices without
raising employee salaries. The stock market crash of 1929 only made the situation worse for Germany,
as the US and Britain stopped paying loans to Germany. All ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

If the German people had been more conscientious about electing a hatemonger, the Holocaust may
have been prevented. Robert H. Jackson, an American prosecutor at the Nuremburg Trials, stated that
of 9,600,000 Jews who lived in Nazi dominated Europe, sixty percent are authoritatively estimated to
have perished. 5,700,000 Jews are missing from the countries in which they formerly lived, and over
4,500,000 cannot be accounted for by the normal death rate. (Goldensohn) Additionally, when Hitler
was elected chancellor in 1932, Germany was a democracy with many of the same civil liberties
enjoyed in America. Slowly over the next several years, those liberties were stripped from the people.
The Nazi regime outlawed freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and dissent. They took control of
all forms of communication in Germany: newspapers, magazines, books, public meetings, and rallies,
art, music, movies, and radio. (USHMM) While criticism of the Weimar Republic under President
Hindenburg was common, once Hitler came to power, people might be sent to a concentration camp
for speaking out against Hitler. This shouldn t have surprised the people of Germany. Before Hitler
was elected to office, he was a very vocal critic of freedom of speech and democracy. It is unfortunate
that the German people were not more careful when it came to

Theme Of The Book Holes
Have you ever been accused of doing something you certainly didn t do? Have you ever had that
feeling that no matter how good you are and how hard you try to not mess up things just turn out?
Have you ever felt as if you were accident prone or if it was just pure bad luck?Well that s what
Stanley Yelnats felt since that was what actually happened in the book Holes by Louis Sachar. There is
a lot to this book, such as themes, characters, and quite a few different locations. The main theme of
this story, Holes, is growing up because, in this book Stanley learns a lot; he has a lot of ambition, and
he shows a ton of responsibility for his own actions, but also for others as well, whether it will get him
into some trouble or not. Stanley learns ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He takes this trait and uses it. He shows it often because in the book he learns that not all his unlucky
events are due to his no good dirty rotten pig stealing great great grandfather s curse. Stanley shows
responsibility for his own actions and at one point others actions. So, tell me Caveman, said Mr.Sir.
How did my sack of sunflower seeds get in your hole? I stole it from your trunk, Stanley answered.
(Sachar, 56)
This quote was chosen because Stanley says that he took the seed but really he was just covering to
make friends. Another example is when he tries to find Zero and attempts to steal Mr.Sir s truck. In the
moment he gets caught he realized that it was his fault that he got caught and not his no good dirty
rotten pig stealing great great grandfather s curse that had been set on the family. In conclusion this
book represents the theme of growing up because the main character shows three of the
characterististics of the theme I chose. These include learning, ambition, and responsibility. Stanley
learns a ton while at Camp Green Lake. He also shows lots of ambition and displays many forms of
responsibility. This book follows a great storyline, as well as one about how the camp used to be. The
story also includes many characters with different personalities and could display way more than just

Persuasive Speech About Bucket List

Essay on Counterfeit Items Cause Economic Damage
Everyone has seen the sidewalk vendor hawking a too good to be true designer handbag. The clues to
counterfeit luxury items used to be so obvious that most people knew exactly what they were buying.
This sadly is no longer the case. The production of counterfeit items causes American manufactures to
suffer about $200 billion in losses each year according to the International AntiCounterfeiting
Coalition (Freedman, 1999). A large part of counterfeited items are fashion goods. They are usually
easily recognizable, especially at the designer or luxury end of the market. The more exclusive a brand
is, the more likely it is to be counterfeited (Lai Zaichkowsky, 1999). As these goods are also high
value, there is considerable profit to be made ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now that almost anything can be faked, counterfeiting is becoming a huge economic issue. Many
businesses are losing customers because they are not able to spot counterfeit items. Customers are
doing more and more shopping on the Internet for convenience and lower prices rather than shopping
at their local trusted retailer.
Customers are buying merchandise without knowing the seller or their reputation (McCausland,
2010). The shopper who would never have considered buying from the guy on the corner whispering,
Pssst! Want to buy a watch? can easily be fooled by a website that looks genuine but isn t, says Susan
Scafidi, a law professor at Fordham Univeristy (McCausland, 2010). Some websites are even very
open about the fact that they sell counterfeit merchandise. They label their designer knockoffs as
replicas or inspired by the original designer (Freedman, 1999). The shoppers who do not realize that
they are buying counterfeit goods or who are knowingly buying counterfeit goods will continue to
purchase these items from counterfeiters because they are cheaper than buying the real thing.
The customers who are knowingly purchasing fakes are contributing to the reduced profitability of
legitimate businesses. These sales have driven companies out of business completely or they have
been forced to significantly scale back their operations.
Globalized production is another factor that

Minds, Brain And Programs By John R. Searle
In Minds, Brains and Programs by John R. Searle exposed his opinion about how computers can not
have Artificial intelligence (Al). Searle portraits this claim about computers through an experiment he
created called the Chinese Room where he shows that computers are not independent operating
systems and that they do not have minds. In order to understand better the experiment Searle
demonstrates the contrast between strong and weak Al, which later through my paper I will explain
what this means. In what follows, I will explain what Searle s Chinese Room experiment is, and what
does it, according to him, demonstrate. I will also argue how I agree with his conclusion because I
believe that computer cannot think. 265 The Chinese Room ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

108 I agree with Searle conclusion because I do believe that computers do not have a mind because
humans and computers are really different from each other. Computers are good in storing and
displaying information, accessing the internet, etc but computers would not be able to do this stuff if
they did not have a program that tells them what to do. Computers cannot have feeling because they
are not human beings. They do not feel cold or heat, does not get sad or happy because it is just a
device that contains a set of data and programs that only serves to give and receive all possible
information. 78 All things considered, John Searle s Chinese room experiment explained how it is
impossible for a computer to have a mind. Searle demonstrates what the Chinese Room is by arguing
against Strong Al and saying that does not exist. As I have argued, I agreed with Searle opinion
because a computer without the right programming would not be able to understand. Thus, Searle
succeed in providing an adequate reason to believe his claim that computers are not independent

Theme Of Chaos In Lord Of The Flies
The quote, Chaos is merely order waiting to be deciphered, by Jose Saramago, explains the
importance of keeping order in civilization. When order does not exist or is not enforced, civilization
begins to collapse or break down, which causes chaos. When Piggy discovers the conch in the story,
Lord of The Flies, by William Golding, he uses it to establish order on the island, but when he dies
order ceases to exist. The first line in the poem, In A Dark Time, is eerily similar to the boys situation
of order and civility on the island. When Piggy first observed the conch in the beginning of the story,
he decided that they should use that conch to preserve order in the tribe. Piggy explains to the group,
We can use this to call others. Have a meeting. They ll come when they hear us (16). Piggy is the
smart one in the group, hence why he thinks to use the conch to establish order. In chapter 11, Piggy
struggles to make his voice heard over Jack and Ralph fighting. Piggy tried to emphasize the
importance of following the rules in order to get rescued. At the same time, Roger pushed the rocks
which quickly descended the mountainside. The rocks struck Piggy and killed him and also shattered
the conch. When this happened, it symbolized order being destroyed on the island. The poem reads, In
a dark time, the eye begins to see... (Line 1). The part, In a dark time, signified the chaos after they
killed Piggy and destroyed the conch. Chaos broke out on the island and the dispute between Ralph
and Jack worsened. The boys became more aggressive and had they not been rescued, this would be
the beginning of the end. The other part, the eye begins to see, shows that after Piggy died and the
conch broke, there was no more order on the island. Ralph began to realize that he was now alone and
had to contest with Jack and what seemed to be his uncivilized tribe. Jack and his tribe came to the
realization that they could now hunt Ralph. The poem also relates to the story when the boys were
divided after Piggy s death. The boys had split into two groups, Jack and his tribe versus Ralph who
was left alone, after Piggy s death. As Roethke states, Dark, darker my light, and darker my desire,
(Stanza 3) symbolizes that

Dating Violence
Introduction
All three articles address dating violence as well as sexual assault. This topic is important to me
because in this day and age dating violence and sexual assault are very common with individual s
period. Regardless of the person being homosexual or heterosexual, Edwards, Sylaska, Barry,

Importance Of Prisons In Prison
On the 17th of June 2016, the prison population of the England and wales was 84,405 and since the
1990s it has risen by an overwhelming 92%! But why? Prisoners often pass golden opportunities to
escape because they would actually rather be locked up than on the outside. This then gives us the
question is the UK justice system too lenient?
Prison sentences are given to punish offenders, to ensure that they are doing something to make up for
their crime against society and reduce the risk of them reoffending. But is that really the case when
reoffending rates are higher than ever and prisoners are getting luxury items inside the jail?
Nowadays, offenders are allowed TVs Xboxes, they earn £12 per week for getting taught the basics
and in some prisons, offenders are even allowed to have pet birds! Personally I think that this is
beyond a joke. People who have hurt innocent people are being sent to a place where they can be
getting more luxuries than they had before they went in. this is not okay and it needs to be stopped.
84,405 criminals are serving their time sitting on Xboxes, watching their favourite programme while
being served hot food that many wouldn t have received before going to prison.
We go to school 5 days a week, 6 hours a day and we get no pay. Criminals who have killed, stolen,
abused and raped get paid £12 a week to learn the basics. They leave prison with better qualifications
than some get in school. How is this fair? Most prisons offer courses that have a

Assisted Suicide Arguments Against Euthanasia
What is life? Life according to Merriam Webster s learner s dictionary, is the experience of being
alive. If you are already in pain suicide will only cause more pain not only to you but to the people
you love the most. Who knows you might not be in the right state of mind, you might get better, it
could be murder, and it is definitely not humane. Assisted suicide is not right and it breaks the theory
of medicine.
How do we know that people aren t actually committing murder while assisting with suicide? Some
people believe that it is not committing murder if the patient asks the doctor to do it, but how do we
know if the patient actually asks the doctor to do it? Jack Kevorkian is a great example of this.

Doctors and nurses will take away all food and water in hopes for a quick death. If all food and fluids
(nutrition and hydration) are removed from a person whether that person is a healthy Olympic athlete
who takes food and fluids by mouth or a frail, disabled person who receives them by a feeding tube
death is inevitable. That death will occur because of dehydration (Methods of Euthanasia). Dr. Helga
Kuhse, activist for euthanasia, said, If we can get people to accept the removal of all treatment and
care especially the removal of food and fluids they will see what a painful way this is to die and then,
in the patient s best interest, they will accept the lethal injection (Methods of Euthanasia).
One of the last forms is through injection. The first injection causes your body s muscles to relax, and
the second one is to stop the heart. The patient usually dies from the muscle relaxant. When death is
slowed down, there is a chance of cardiac arrest, so there is a pill given so it doesn t happen.
According to Oregon s public health department, The top reasons for assisted suicide in the state are
loss of autonomy (91.5%), decreased ability to engage in enjoyable activities (88.7%), loss of dignity
(79.3%), loss of control of body (50.1%) and becoming a burden on others (40%)

The use of lifeguards on beaches in California began in the late 1930 s. Communities grew around
seasonal beach attendance because it was an affordable place for adventure after the Depression.
When transportation improvements made the beaches accessible to the inland communities, swimmers
entered the surf zone. In Southern California drownings increased on a massive scale. For example, in
the early 1900 s Newport Beach experienced 18 drownings in one weekend. In 1918, 13 people
drowned in San Diego in one day. Lifeguard services were modeled after east coast lifeguard
operations. Swim lines or lifelines were attached to shore. However, struggling swimmers were not
always able to hold onto them. Row boats(dory boats), the rescue paddle board, and throw lines were
used. Swimming rescues were the last resort due. So, eventuality Californians supported bond issues
that allowed the Division of Beaches and Parks to acquire significant coastal land. Acquisition of land
led to the development of campgrounds. They both became instantly popular and the immediate need
for lifeguard service was met with a contract to the

Child Welfare Problems And Domestic Violence
Introduction
An overview of how and why your topic has become an issue. This will include a description and
representation of how your issue has developed over time.
Domestic violence can include physical, verbal, sexual and emotional abuse.
This is a wicked problem, meaning that the priorities of the government change and the definitions of
the source of the problem vary between fixing the blame on inadequate and irresponsible parenting
versus connecting it to the stresses of the larger social environment.
Child welfare problems and domestic violence are affiliated to drug abuse and unmarried parenthood
and at the individual level; concentrated poverty, institutional racism, and ineffective social policies, at
the societal level.
When setting policies, the government s ongoing struggles with how to measure success and whether
it is more effective if we draw our focus narrowly on child safety or more broadly on social and
emotional well being.
With this struggle, the government cannot find an effective solution to minimising family violence.
A home is a place of safety and shelter from danger or/and negativity in the outside world. A family is
a there to take care and protect you from any harm. For the children and other victims involved with
family violence it may be where they are most the vulnerable to assault, misuse or deprivation,
ironically at the very hands of those who have a duty to protect and nourish them. With family
violence, a home and a

In Disputing Some Of The Main Accusations And So-Called
In disputing some of the main accusations and so called evidence presented in the Blue Book, the
German Colonial Office argues that Germany s African protectorates were acquired by peaceful
means and were built upon by German enterprise and industry under a colonial policy of liberality
towards other nations. They claim that, since Great Britain declared willingness to recognize German
territory in African, the British cannot make the argument that South West Africa shouldn t have fallen
into German hands, since they initially supported it during the Berlin Conferences. Prior to the war,
there were multiple British and American sources that praise Germany s development efforts in Africa.
The White Book even claims, many eminent English ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If anything, they claim that German colonizers were merely following the example of the British, who
were much more experienced in the suppression and conquering of native populations. They
rhetorically demand that Britain recognize their own atrocities before accusing other powers, saying,
Physician, heal thyself!
The Treaty of Versailles
Due to the Allies victory and Great Britain s prominent position among the Allied powers, the
evidence and rhetoric from the 1918 Blue Book prevailed over the counterarguments presented in the
1919 German White Book, resulting Germany s forced renouncement of her overseas territory.
Overall, the Treaty of Versailles reassigned German boundaries and assigned liability for reparations.
The two main articles that concern the former German protectorates are Article 22, which concerns
their distribution, and Article 119, which describes the terms of the German colonies surrender. While
Article 119 provides more information concerning the general compliance of Germany, the decisions
made in Article 22 show the true influence that the British had on the Treaty s mandates and the
degree to which the Allied powers benefitted from Germany s colonial losses.

Black Convict Response To Claude Brown
My thoughts on the young black convict response to Claude Brown is that it is very sad and disturbing
because there are so many minorities with this outlook on life. I think that it is very unfortunate that
we as blacks allow our circumstances to make us think that criminal activity is the only way to have a
better life. I think that we have become so a custom to the disadvantages that we don t think there is a
better life outside of criminal activity. Although, many African Americans are living in impoverished
neighborhoods and have other disadvantages, I still think that there should be some type of motivation
within our ethnic group to want to do better and accomplish more out of life. According to the course
text, the reason that some

The Importance Of Work Place Culture And How It Has A...
People will typically be more enthusiastic where they feel a sense of belonging and see themselves as
member of a community, in comparison to a workplace in which each person is left to their own
devices Kohn (1999 pg. 188). This outlines that when people have a sense of belonging they will
thrive, and demonstrates the importance of work place culture and how it has a large influence on if a
business is successful, in the same way that Cameron and Quinn explained (2011) that some of today s
successful firms have developed a distinctive culture that is identifiable by its employees, for example
Disney. In early years settings this sense of belonging is shared through having a uniform, a defined
set of values, policies and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another major factor is how the individuals will play a role in how the communication is received, for
example their role within the setting. This is supported by Tylor and Van Every (2000) when they
stress that with clear and concise communication between employees an organisation can emerge and
grow. Schins (1985) explained in his model that there are three basic levels of elements for culture ,
described as layers. One of these is artefacts which are the visible elements like uniform worn by staff
and children which shows a group presence and aides belonging, providing a sense of family,
furthermore there is organisational structure, the manager leading the setting with their values which
are fed down through the deputy to the early years practitioners, through strategies and goals set by
the manager, and any policies and procedures the setting follows. One of these is what the setting
stands for which is for all children to be happy and to achieve, another one is where the setting aims to
be in the future. Which in the case of early years is striving to achieve the highest grade with
OFSTED, if staff feel valued and confident in their work this will influence a more positive attitude in
their behaviour and feelings, and will want to achieve more as a whole.
Hofstede (1980) suggested that settings need to consider the individual values of the employees and
their personal values and they should be encouraged and not criticised to make a

Analysis Of Frankenstein By Mary Shelly
One of the most popular formats for literature is a hero faced with seemingly insurmountable struggles
who is able to overcome these obstacles and live happily ever after . However, some of the most
famous books in literature have an extremely different structure to their stories. These books center on
characters of questionable moral integrity, who through their own poor decisions bring about their
own misery and often ultimate demise. When examined this theme of self destruction can be seen in
many of what are considered the greatest books in western civilization. One of the books where this
theme can be seen is in the popular horror story Frankenstein written in 1816 by Mary Shelly. Another
place this can be seen is in many of the writings of Edgar Allen Poe, especially in his physiological
thrillers. An additional place this can be seen is in the play written in 1890 by Henrik Ibsen called
Hedda Gabler. In all of these stories it is the main characters own choices that lead to the destruction
of their happiness. Frankenstein is one of the most famous classic horror stories in today s culture,
having been retold and reimagined countless times. However, when one reads the original book by
Mary Shelly, Frankenstein may be seen as not quite the sympathetic character some more recent
renditions lead one to believe. The book indicates that the main reason Frankenstein is lead to create
his monster is because of his desire for academic prestige and to control and manipulate

Don Juan Canto X Essay
Don Juan: Canto X is the tenth chapter of Lord George Gordon Byron s poem Don Juan. The poem
was written in London, England, or what is today known as Westminster, London, UK. Don Juan is a
controversial poem following the life of the titular character, unique in that it was originally published
anonymously so as to spare the author the expected backlash. Don Juan was given a sheltered
upbringing as a child, but as he reached adolescence he awoke to mature needs and seduces a married
woman. Rather than portray this sin as a grievous deed, Byron portrays it in an almost comedic light
and then proceeds to follow Don Juan on his increasingly ridiculous adult adventures. This was a
shocking poem that likely took aback the admittedly prudish English ... Show more content on

In this chapter of the storyline, Don Juan has spent some time in Russia under the hospitality of
Catherine the Great, earning a large monetary fortune and great social status. He writes to his mother
to relate his successes, but despite his alleged happiness, he falls ill for unexplained reasons. A change
of climate is recommended, so Catherine reluctantly sends him on a diplomatic mission to England.
He travels with his pseudo adopted orphan Leila and a group of subordinates to reach London,
impressing those he meets in various countries along the way. It is once the party reaches London that
Byron finally expresses all his critical sentiments against his hometown. Byron first mocks the English
values of respectability when he describes the state that Juan made his arrival in: Juan, though
careless, young, and magnificent, / And rich in rubles, diamond, cash, and credit, / Who did not limit
much his bills per week... (Byron X.553 554). Juan was acting as a diplomat for Russia s ruler, so he
must have been seen as a man of high standing among the people of London. To this end, Catherine
granted him a fortune and transformed him from a poor boy into a wealthy young man. Through this
development and the ensuing extravagance described, Byron implies that men were judged in
Victorian England

The Consumer Decision Process Model For Kitchen Aid And Me
The Consumer Decision Process Model for Kitchen Aid and Me According to Tanner and Raymond,
authors of Principles of Marketing, there are six stages in the consumer s purchasing process. (Tanner,
2014). In this essay, I will attempt to express how KitchenAid utilizes these six stages in marketing to
consumers and align them with how I have made my own decisions in the past to purchase
KitchenAid products. Stage One: Need Recognition: The KitchenAid stand mixer is a unique and
quite effective tool to have in the kitchen of anyone who appreciates making foods from scratch and
likes to know exactly what is in the foods they prepare. Apart from the mixing benefits of the stand
mixer, I have purchased the slicer, meat grinder, pasta roller and sausage stuffer. KitchenAid offers a
product that has a particular set of attachments that is not offered by any other company that addresses
specific needs of any aspiring home chefs. Stage Two: Search for Product Information: Since
KitchenAid is a well known brand that is used throughout the world, there is a great deal of
information regarding the usefulness, longevity and effectiveness of their products. In addition to
KitchenAid s website page on stand mixer attachments (KitchenAid.com, n.d.), a consumer can go to
any number of major websites to search product reviews and get opinions on the effectiveness of the
product, including Reddit, Amazon, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. Even though they have essentially cornered
the market

Examples Of Destruction In Tangerine By Edward Bloor
Have you ever seen destruction or had something of yours destroyed? There may not have been an
obvious immediate benefit from that destruction. Edward Bloor teaches us that destruction creates a
chance for growth and opportunity. In the novel Tangerine by Edward Bloor, he describes the life of
13 year old Paul Fisher. Paul witnesses the destruction of his first school, Lake Windsor, from a
sinkhole. Due to this destruction, he gets the opportunity to go to a new school called Tangerine
Middle. There he makes friends and finds himself helping them with the freeze. The freeze is when
the temperature drops and the tangerine trees start to freeze. After the freeze, the trees produce the
wonderful growth of the amazing golden dawn. Therefore, Edward Bloor uses the sinkhole and the
freeze to reveal the theme that destruction creates a chance for growth and opportunity. ... Show more

the sinkhole suddenly strikes the middle school. This sinkhole forces Paul to go to Tangerine Middle
because it is no longer safe at Lake Windsor. The destruction allows for Paul to be able to go to

Business Communication M1
M1 Business Communication
INTRODUCTION
In P1 I talked about types of communications used by Asda and these are Verbal, written, on screen. In
this task I am going to show you the advantages and disadvantages of each type of communication
referring it to my chosen company and that is Asda.
ADVANTAGES OF VERBAL/ORAL
Oral communication or speech is often the preferred medium to exchange information in in informal
situations since it provides a number of immediate benefits when attempting to pitch proposals and
ideas.
* It s easier to communicate verbally than any other way because you get to understand every detail
that is being spoken by the other person. In Asda customers communicate with the staff members this
is an advantage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
* Advantage of written communication is that there is a lesser chance for the message to be
misunderstood, e.g. if Asda wants to explain something or give instruction in the letter there will be
lesser chance for the message to be misunderstood because there will be instruction and the letter will
be written properly.
* Written communication is good for complicated and vital instructions, which can be given in a
precise and uniform manner.
* It assists in proper delegation of responsibilities. While in case of oral communication, it is
impossible to fix and delegate responsibilities on the grounds of speech as it can be taken back by the
speaker or he may refuse to acknowledge.
DISADVANTAGES OF WRITTEN
* The disadvantage of this is that written communication does not save upon the costs. It costs huge in
terms of stationery and the manpower employed in writing/typing and making the leaflets.
* The disadvantage of written is for example if Asda sends letter, memos or emails people may not
always read them.
* Another disadvantage of written communication is that it does not answer questions and there is no
immediate feedback. So therefore if Asda sends Letter they cannot have immediate feedback because

The Chorus In Medea
In Euripides tragedy Medea, he displays the Chorus feelings towards children; the Chorus talks about
how the people who never have children live life with less troubles before stating their opinion and
questioning those who thank the gods for children. The Chorus is justified in saying people who never
have children live life with less troubles. The Chorus believes that people [w]ho had never had
children of their own can [e]njoy the advantage in good fortune, for children are a burden (990, 991,
994). There are many advantages that people without children can enjoy because children are a burden
to raise and care for. The Chorus explains that parents are [b]urdend and worn with incessant worry

Descriptive Essay About Interview
It is a nice day in the late afternoon. I sit with my uncle in the dining room. The warm, soothing lights
hang above us in the wooden chairs. He sits ready and prepared for the interview. Chad Krumbach
grew up in Osceola, Nebraska, a small, quiet town west of Lincoln. He went to the Osceola High
school and was the punter for their football team. He then graduated and chose to go to UNL, where
he majored in biology and nutrition. He then stayed in Nebraska until he moved to Arizona in 2000,
He is now an accountant who works at home. He lives with his wife and two daughters. Chad applied
to Wayne State College, University of Nebraska Omaha, and University of Nebraska Lincoln. He
chose to go to University of Nebraska Lincoln, because it was close enough to home but not too close,
he also got a scholarship to UNL as well. He also said It not necessarily a dream college, but it was a
college everyone knew about who lived in Nebraska . He wasn t sure what he wanted to do, but he
was interested in the field of biology so he went in that direction. When Chad went to UNL, he always
surrounded himself with positive and good people. He knew people from Osceola and met new friends
in college. He liked his friends and always hung out with them when he had the time. He also liked his
professors that he had. There was one that he liked fairly well, The professors did a lot for me though.

Depression In The Bell Jar Sylvia Plath
Numerous people suffer from depression at some point in their lives. Some cases are more temporary,
while others last longer. Author Sylvia Plath, who suffered from depression, wrote an autobiographical
novel entitled The Bell Jar. In her novel, Plath uses a fictional character to walk her readers through
her personal experiences (Plath 1 244). She describes in details the character, setting, plot and theme
(1 244). Esther Greenwood is the protagonist in The Bell Jar. She is a young, college aged girl who is
an extremely talented writer (Plath 3). She is one of twelve lucky winners of a fashion magazine
contest (3). As a prize, Esther is given a one month job and travels from Boston to New York to
become a magazine editor (3). We had all won a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the book, Esther struggles with insecurity(1 244). The first time this perception is
perceived is when she and her friend are at a party with two guys they first met (11). She introduces
herself as a fake person because it makes her feel safer (11). My name s Elly Higginbottom, I said. I
come from Chicago. After that I felt safer. I didn t want anything I said or did that night to be
associated with me and my real name and coming from Boston (11). Then, another example of this is
displayed a few pages onward (18). Esther is inside the elevator of her hotel, when she sees her
reflection on the doors (18). The doors folded shut like a noiseless accordion. Then my ears went
funny, and I noticed a big, smudgy eyed woman staring idiotically into my face. It was only me, of
course. I was appalled to see how wrinkled and used up I looked (18). Later, Esther meets a sailor and,
again, introduces herself as Elly Higginbottom (132). A third occurrence where Esther displays
insecurity is when she is at a hospital and asks to see a mirror (174). After some prodding, her nurse
reluctantly hands it to her (174). When she sees her reflection,

Analysis Of Teachers, Students, And Sleep By Dave Stuart Jr.
This week s article was Teachers, Students, and Sleep by Dave Stuart Jr. It discusses the importance of
sleep to both teachers and students, and ways to make sure they get the best sleep to succeed each day.
According to the article, sleep can be easily thrown off, especially by late night snacking. Also, the
article states, one of the most valuable and overlooked aspects of sleep is an operation called memory
processing, which is a part of REM sleep. The bad thing is, these snack before bed disrupt this REM
sleep, making our quality of sleep much worse. Another key role in getting better sleep is regularity,
which is one of the most important factors in how well people sleep. It has also been proven that sleep

Pros And Cons Of Test Driven Design
Test Driven Design: Pros and Cons
Software testing involves execution of a software or service to check the quality of software product
or service. It evaluates whether software components meet the given requirements or not. It also
evaluates functionality of the software and time taken by it to run. [1] Software testing is very
important for controlling the cost of the software project. Traditionally, we design and develop the
program first. However, Test Driven Design (TDD) involves writing the test cases for new functions
of a software first and then implementation of the code to pass these tests. This cycle of writing test
cases and implementing the code is repeated till all the functionalities of the code are implemented. [2]
Now, we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Actually, in TDD he first writes 1 small test, then he writes the code which passes that test case, then
write another small test and then make it work and so on. [3] This is the basic flow of TDD. Write a
test that fails, make it work, improve the code. [3] This flow is also known as Red Green Refactor
flow. Writing a test that fails indicate red phase, making it work indicate green phase and improving
the code refers to refactor phase in the practice of test driven design. [3] Refactoring means to change
the code without changing the expected goal of the code. This practice may not seem natural but
yields very fruitful benefits.
There are many advantages of using test driven design in a software company. In many companies,
including IBM, traditional unit test is not thought of as an important step in software development.
More often than not, no unit tests were created, especially when the schedule is tight. [2] While in
TDD, this is not the case as in its development process testing is forced through the test cases made.
This causes the software product to eventually have less

  • 3. A Community Of Organisms With Their Environment An ecosystem is a system formed by the interaction of a community of organisms with their environment. Ecology is a branch of biology having to deal with the relations and interactions between organisms, their environment, and other organisms. A community in an ecosystem is an assemblage of interacting populations occupying a given area. A habitat is an area or environment where an organism or an ecological community lives. There is a large diversity in an ecosystem, for example, the species, environment, and the plant diversity in the ecosystem. It s difficult to model ecosystems because the model needs to be accurate and as well as precise. In an ecosystem, organisms have many ways to get energy. One way is a producer, who makes their own food. Only plants have this ability. Another way is being a consumer, who eats other organisms for food and energy. An example of a consumer would be animals and humans. Lastly, another way organisms can get food is being a decomposer, one who eats dead plants or animals. Decomposers are mostly bacteria, fungus, or invertebrates. A food web is a series or organisms related by predator prey and consumer resource interactions. It is entirety of irrelated food chains in an ecological community. There is also a trophic level. A trophic level is any class of organisms that occupy the same position in a food chain such a primary consumers, secondary consumers, and tertiary consumers. • 4. Stewart And Hurtado Stewart (1998) examined the applications of feminist theories in personality research, stating how the incorporation of these concepts may enrich our understanding, while helping us to overcome our traditional individualism and universalism . In the second chapter of The Handbook of Diversity in Feminist Psychology, Hurtado (2010) demonstrates many of the concepts discussed by Stewart in this week s reading. One of Stewart s main points involves reframing one s own perspective in order to better construct the research question. She believed researchers often construct research problems from the perspective of educated, middle class professionals and many constructs measured have different meanings for participants with varying backgrounds (more often idiosyncratic than concrete). Stewart advocates researchers analyze their own positions in order understand the research problem more comprehensively. When discussing multicultural feminist theory, Hurtado (2010) touches on alterations to research methods by implementing self reflexivity and states collaborating with additional authors, especially across academic disciplines, will broaden researcher s perspectives. • 8. The German People did “Nazi” Hitler Coming In 1932, Germany was in turmoil. Mass inflation had caused the prices of all commodities to rise, while the German people lived paycheck to paycheck. This type of socio economic climate is notorious for breeding radical political ideologies. Ever since Germany lost the Great War (now called World War I) in 1918, the Germans had been required to pay reparations to the countries they had fought. While the US and UK prospered during the 1920s, Germany suffered. In order to pay off its debts, Germany raised taxes on the people and this caused businesses to increase their prices without raising employee salaries. Jackson, an American prosecutor at the Nuremburg Trials, stated that of 9,600,000 Jews who lived in Nazi dominated Europe, sixty percent are authoritatively estimated to have perished. 5,700,000 Jews are missing from the countries in which they formerly lived, and over 4,500,000 cannot be accounted for by the normal death rate. (Goldensohn) Additionally, when Hitler was elected chancellor in 1932, Germany was a democracy with many of the same civil liberties enjoyed in America. Slowly over the next several years, those liberties were stripped from the people. The Nazi regime outlawed freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and dissent. They took control of all forms of communication in Germany: newspapers, magazines, books, public meetings, and rallies, art, music, movies, and radio. (USHMM) While criticism of the Weimar Republic under President Hindenburg was common, once Hitler came to power, people might be sent to a concentration camp for speaking out against Hitler. This shouldn t have surprised the people of Germany. Before Hitler was elected to office, he was a very vocal critic of freedom of speech and democracy. Have you ever had that feeling that no matter how good you are and how hard you try to not mess up things just turn out? Have you ever felt as if you were accident prone or if it was just pure bad luck?Well that s what Stanley Yelnats felt since that was what actually happened in the book Holes by Louis Sachar. There is a lot to this book, such as themes, characters, and quite a few different locations. The main theme of this story, Holes, is growing up because, in this book Stanley learns a lot; he has a lot of ambition, and he shows a ton of responsibility for his own actions, but also for others as well, whether it will get him into some trouble or not. Stanley learns ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He takes this trait and uses it. He shows it often because in the book he learns that not all his unlucky events are due to his no good dirty rotten pig stealing great great grandfather s curse. Stanley shows responsibility for his own actions and at one point others actions. So, tell me Caveman, said Mr.Sir. How did my sack of sunflower seeds get in your hole? I stole it from your trunk, Stanley answered. (Sachar, 56) This quote was chosen because Stanley says that he took the seed but really he was just covering to make friends. Another example is when he tries to find Zero and attempts to steal Mr.Sir s truck. In the moment he gets caught he realized that it was his fault that he got caught and not his no good dirty rotten pig stealing great great grandfather s curse that had been set on the family. In conclusion this book represents the theme of growing up because the main character shows three of the characterististics of the theme I chose. These include learning, ambition, and responsibility. Stanley learns a ton while at Camp Green Lake. He also shows lots of ambition and displays many forms of responsibility. This book follows a great storyline, as well as one about how the camp used to be. The clues to counterfeit luxury items used to be so obvious that most people knew exactly what they were buying. This sadly is no longer the case. The production of counterfeit items causes American manufactures to suffer about $200 billion in losses each year according to the International AntiCounterfeiting Coalition (Freedman, 1999). A large part of counterfeited items are fashion goods. They are usually easily recognizable, especially at the designer or luxury end of the market. The more exclusive a brand is, the more likely it is to be counterfeited (Lai Zaichkowsky, 1999). As these goods are also high value, there is considerable profit to be made ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now that almost anything can be faked, counterfeiting is becoming a huge economic issue. Many businesses are losing customers because they are not able to spot counterfeit items. Customers are doing more and more shopping on the Internet for convenience and lower prices rather than shopping at their local trusted retailer. Customers are buying merchandise without knowing the seller or their reputation (McCausland, 2010). The shopper who would never have considered buying from the guy on the corner whispering, Pssst! Want to buy a watch? can easily be fooled by a website that looks genuine but isn t, says Susan Scafidi, a law professor at Fordham Univeristy (McCausland, 2010). Some websites are even very open about the fact that they sell counterfeit merchandise. They label their designer knockoffs as replicas or inspired by the original designer (Freedman, 1999). The shoppers who do not realize that they are buying counterfeit goods or who are knowingly buying counterfeit goods will continue to purchase these items from counterfeiters because they are cheaper than buying the real thing. The customers who are knowingly purchasing fakes are contributing to the reduced profitability of legitimate businesses. These sales have driven companies out of business completely or they have been forced to significantly scale back their operations. Globalized production is another factor that ... • 13. Minds, Brain And Programs By John R. Searle In Minds, Brains and Programs by John R. Searle exposed his opinion about how computers can not have Artificial intelligence (Al). Searle portraits this claim about computers through an experiment he created called the Chinese Room where he shows that computers are not independent operating systems and that they do not have minds. In order to understand better the experiment Searle demonstrates the contrast between strong and weak Al, which later through my paper I will explain what this means. In what follows, I will explain what Searle s Chinese Room experiment is, and what does it, according to him, demonstrate. I will also argue how I agree with his conclusion because I believe that computer cannot think. 265 The Chinese Room ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 108 I agree with Searle conclusion because I do believe that computers do not have a mind because humans and computers are really different from each other. Computers are good in storing and displaying information, accessing the internet, etc but computers would not be able to do this stuff if they did not have a program that tells them what to do. Computers cannot have feeling because they are not human beings. They do not feel cold or heat, does not get sad or happy because it is just a device that contains a set of data and programs that only serves to give and receive all possible information. 78 All things considered, John Searle s Chinese room experiment explained how it is impossible for a computer to have a mind. Searle demonstrates what the Chinese Room is by arguing against Strong Al and saying that does not exist. As I have argued, I agreed with Searle opinion because a computer without the right programming would not be able to understand. • 14. Theme Of Chaos In Lord Of The Flies The quote, Chaos is merely order waiting to be deciphered, by Jose Saramago, explains the importance of keeping order in civilization. When order does not exist or is not enforced, civilization begins to collapse or break down, which causes chaos. When Piggy discovers the conch in the story, Lord of The Flies, by William Golding, he uses it to establish order on the island, but when he dies order ceases to exist. The first line in the poem, In A Dark Time, is eerily similar to the boys situation of order and civility on the island. When Piggy first observed the conch in the beginning of the story, he decided that they should use that conch to preserve order in the tribe. Piggy explains to the group, We can use this to call others. Have a meeting. They ll come when they hear us (16). Piggy is the smart one in the group, hence why he thinks to use the conch to establish order. In chapter 11, Piggy struggles to make his voice heard over Jack and Ralph fighting. Piggy tried to emphasize the importance of following the rules in order to get rescued. At the same time, Roger pushed the rocks which quickly descended the mountainside. The rocks struck Piggy and killed him and also shattered the conch. When this happened, it symbolized order being destroyed on the island. The poem reads, In a dark time, the eye begins to see... (Line 1). The part, In a dark time, signified the chaos after they killed Piggy and destroyed the conch. Chaos broke out on the island and the dispute between Ralph and Jack worsened. The boys became more aggressive and had they not been rescued, this would be the beginning of the end. The other part, the eye begins to see, shows that after Piggy died and the conch broke, there was no more order on the island. Ralph began to realize that he was now alone and had to contest with Jack and what seemed to be his uncivilized tribe. Jack and his tribe came to the realization that they could now hunt Ralph. The poem also relates to the story when the boys were divided after Piggy s death. The boys had split into two groups, Jack and his tribe versus Ralph who was left alone, after Piggy s death. Prisoners often pass golden opportunities to escape because they would actually rather be locked up than on the outside. This then gives us the question is the UK justice system too lenient? Prison sentences are given to punish offenders, to ensure that they are doing something to make up for their crime against society and reduce the risk of them reoffending. But is that really the case when reoffending rates are higher than ever and prisoners are getting luxury items inside the jail? Nowadays, offenders are allowed TVs Xboxes, they earn £12 per week for getting taught the basics and in some prisons, offenders are even allowed to have pet birds! Personally I think that this is beyond a joke. People who have hurt innocent people are being sent to a place where they can be getting more luxuries than they had before they went in. this is not okay and it needs to be stopped. 84,405 criminals are serving their time sitting on Xboxes, watching their favourite programme while being served hot food that many wouldn t have received before going to prison. We go to school 5 days a week, 6 hours a day and we get no pay. Criminals who have killed, stolen, abused and raped get paid £12 a week to learn the basics. This will include a description and representation of how your issue has developed over time. Domestic violence can include physical, verbal, sexual and emotional abuse. This is a wicked problem, meaning that the priorities of the government change and the definitions of the source of the problem vary between fixing the blame on inadequate and irresponsible parenting versus connecting it to the stresses of the larger social environment. Child welfare problems and domestic violence are affiliated to drug abuse and unmarried parenthood and at the individual level; concentrated poverty, institutional racism, and ineffective social policies, at the societal level. When setting policies, the government s ongoing struggles with how to measure success and whether it is more effective if we draw our focus narrowly on child safety or more broadly on social and emotional well being. Analysis Of Frankenstein By Mary Shelly One of the most popular formats for literature is a hero faced with seemingly insurmountable struggles who is able to overcome these obstacles and live happily ever after . However, some of the most famous books in literature have an extremely different structure to their stories. These books center on characters of questionable moral integrity, who through their own poor decisions bring about their own misery and often ultimate demise. When examined this theme of self destruction can be seen in many of what are considered the greatest books in western civilization. One of the books where this theme can be seen is in the popular horror story Frankenstein written in 1816 by Mary Shelly. Another place this can be seen is in many of the writings of Edgar Allen Poe, especially in his physiological thrillers. An additional place this can be seen is in the play written in 1890 by Henrik Ibsen called Hedda Gabler. In all of these stories it is the main characters own choices that lead to the destruction of their happiness. Frankenstein is one of the most famous classic horror stories in today s culture, having been retold and reimagined countless times. However, when one reads the original book by Mary Shelly, Frankenstein may be seen as not quite the sympathetic character some more recent renditions lead one to believe. Also, the article states, one of the most valuable and overlooked aspects of sleep is an operation called memory processing, which is a part of REM sleep. The bad thing is, these snack before bed disrupt this REM sleep, making our quality of sleep much worse. Another key role in getting better sleep is regularity, which is one of the most important factors in how well people sleep. It has also been proven that sleep impacts performance. As ... • 34. Pros And Cons Of Test Driven Design Test Driven Design: Pros and Cons Software testing involves execution of a software or service to check the quality of software product or service. It evaluates whether software components meet the given requirements or not. It also evaluates functionality of the software and time taken by it to run. [1] Software testing is very important for controlling the cost of the software project. Traditionally, we design and develop the program first. However, Test Driven Design (TDD) involves writing the test cases for new functions of a software first and then implementation of the code to pass these tests. This cycle of writing test cases and implementing the code is repeated till all the functionalities of the code are implemented. [2] Now, we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Actually, in TDD he first writes 1 small test, then he writes the code which passes that test case, then write another small test and then make it work and so on. [3] This is the basic flow of TDD. Write a test that fails, make it work, improve the code. [3] This flow is also known as Red Green Refactor flow. Writing a test that fails indicate red phase, making it work indicate green phase and improving the code refers to refactor phase in the practice of test driven design. [3] Refactoring means to change the code without changing the expected goal of the code. This practice may not seem natural but yields very fruitful benefits. There are many advantages of using test driven design in a software company. In many companies, including IBM, traditional unit test is not thought of as an important step in software development. More often than not, no unit tests were created, especially when the schedule is tight. [2] While in TDD, this is not the case as in its development process testing is forced through the test cases made. This causes the software product to eventually have less ...
