Attorney Vs Durable Power Of Attorney
Goal: What is the difference between a medical power of attorney and a durable power of attorney?
Word count in this document: 1500 Title: What is the difference between a medical power of attorney
and a durable power of attorney? Life happens, and we can t stop accidents, illnesses, and aging from
happening. We don t want to think about these things, but they are something we need to address. If
something happens and you are unable to tell your doctors what type of medical treatment you want,
or you can t manage your financial affairs while you are in the hospital, what would you do? This is
where the power of attorney comes in. The medical and financial powers of an attorney can make your
life easier for both you and your family if things get hard. The power of an attorney You re probably
wondering what the power of an attorney actually is. Basically, it s a legal document that gives
someone the power to act in your place. For example, if you ever become mentally incapacitated, you
will need durable powers of attorney for both medical care and financial decisions. Someone will need
to take over everything for you, because you will be incapable of caring for yourself and taking care of
your needs anymore. Giving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

someone who is going to manage every single financial aspect of your life if you become mentally
incapable of doing so. The official title of this aspect is called the durable power of attorney for

Lapland Photography
Indeed challenging, rephotography has grown in practice and some have become iconic. For some
time, Mark Klett and colleagues have produced the most comprehensive examples of the changing
land and open spaces in the American West (Klett, Manchester, Verburg, Busham, Dingus, 1984;
Ware, 2011). In the mid 1970s, Klett and his team rephotographed 19th century photographs originally
taken by Timothy O Sullivan, William Henry Jackson, and others commissioned by the U.S.
government led surveys of the American West in the 1870s (see Ch. 3). Revisiting 120 locations 100
years later, they captured the same historic places with precision and detail from the same vantage

After examining 19th century images of the Sámi from an archive Puranen found in Paris and photos
from poet Nils Aslak Valkeapää of Finnish Lapland, in addition to notes by Prince Roland Bonaparte s
original expedition of Lapland that was documented by French photographer G. Roche, Puranen
visited Finnish Lapland, the region near the north of Norway and Iceland. Puranen tracked down many
of the places and people related to the surnames identified in the notes and others sources researched,
which culminated in the book Imaginary Homecoming that contains archival photos from 1884
juxtaposed with his photos taken from 1991 to 1997. Like Klett and Wolfe, Puranen recreated the
original scene of the archived image that bridges the distance between time and space to illustrate
changes to the land over the past hundred years. Puranen s photos captured the culture of the Sámi of
Lapland as well as the traditions of everyday life past and present that endured despite migration in the
northern region. His photos represent the vanishing diaspora of Lapland and expose how modernity
and development intruded on a marginalized group on the edge of society, which Wells (2011)
suggests is a contemporary example of social and philosophical commentary that questions the
ideological tensions relating to land (p. 254). Others have also documented Finland s vulnerability as
global warming encroaches on the region and these photos reveal the dichotomy between the city and
country as many Finnish remain loyal to their rural heritage yet embrace modernity and technology as
Finland is home to telecommunications giant

Essay On Veterans Rights
The issue that has been addressed throughout this study is veteran s rights. The issue of veteran s
rights is still being pursued and is near and dear to me. Not only am I a veteran, but I come from a
long line of men and women who have proudly worn the uniform in defense of our nation. Between
the mindset of the American public, to the cases presented before Congress, this is an ongoing
dilemma. Caring for our brothers and sisters in arms is the socially responsible thing to do. However,
many roadblocks must be torn down before this can come to fruition.
Problems Faced
What some the symptoms of veteran s rights look like in regards to how they are addressed, are in
multitude. They range in length from health care, education, to basic family needs. Overall, the
American public does not pay attention to veterans, and this is mostly in part because the issues that
plague our veterans are often deemed irrelevant by the average ... Show more content on

Once I have a wealth of research on my side, then I can not only help to inform the populace but either
create or join an existing social movement, like the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP, 2017) and

families while bringing the information to the populace has so far been the most effective. Petitions
have been generated and sent to Senators, and because of the slow, but steady fight, many in Congress
are seeing that there needs to be changes put in place.
The objectives for the desired outcomes is to ensure that every veteran, regardless of which war,
receives the proper care and treatment of their ailments. This is to include housing our homeless
veterans in complexes in which they will feel safe, yet give them the freedom they need to work on
their journey of healing. In the process, the veterans families that are affected must not be forgotten as

Pyrenean Ibex Research Paper
Pyrenean Ibex were wild goats that lived in the mountainous regions of Europe, north central Asia,
and northern Africa. According to the Integrated Taxonomic Information System, there are five
species of Ibex (Bradford, 2014). These species were one of the two subspecies of Spanish Ibex that
went extinct. The scientific name of Pyrenean Ibex is Capra pyrenaica pyrenaica. Male and Female
Ibex could be distinguished due to fur color and horn differences. Males were greyish brown with
black spots on the forelegs in summer and they were dull grey with faded spots in winter. On the other
hand, female ibex had brown fur color. The Pyrenean Ibex had fur that grew longer and thicker in
colder winter months. During the summer, it was shorter and less thick. The males had large, thick ...

They lived on rocky mountainsides and cliffs. Their habitats were also known as Boreal Biomes. The
Pyrenean Ibex were herbivores. They only ate vegetation such as shrubs, bushes, and grasses. This is
the reason for its habitat being in the mountains because there was plenty of vegetation there. Ibex
made their homes on cliffs that would be dangerous for predators. The Pyrenean Ibex was most
commonly eaten by Wolves, Foxes, Snow Leopards, lynx, and bears. Ibexes were very social and
lived in groups called herds. The herds were segregated by gender. The males had a separate herd and
the male herd was called the bachelor herd. The female and offspring had separate herd and it
consisted of 10 to 20 members (Bradford, 2014). They would only meet during the breeding season.
The male Ibex used scent to communicate with a potential mate during breeding season. Breeding
season for Ibex is called a rut. They were very nimble and could jump more than 6 feet straight

Confederate Loss
The Loss The Battle of Gettysburg was the most brutal battle in the American Civil War. Many people
consider this the turning point of the Civil War, for every major battle prior to this won by the
Confederate Army, led under the famous Robert E. Lee. In the span of three days in the town of
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, the Union Army persevered and won. There were many men at fault for the
Confederate loss, however the only person to fully blame is the cavalry leader J.E.B. Stuart. He was in
the wrong by not doing his job; Stuart failed to give the position of the Union Army before the battle,
he failed to give the information necessary during the battle, and he failed to re enforce the
Confederate army. J.E.B. Stuart was most at fault for the Confederate loss at the Battle of Gettysburg.

Stuart failed his job. Advancing through the North, General Robert E. Lee depended on Stuart to
report information about the terrain of the unfamiliar land and the movement of the Army of the
Potomac (Union). Lee s purpose for invading the North was to utterly destroy the Union army and
have a devastating win to end the war. At this point, General Lee and his army were running low on
provisions. Stuart, instead of gathering essential information, was joy riding in the North causing great
commotion. If it had not been for a paid spy by the name of Harrison, the Confederates would have
surely been blind in enemy territory. Harrison gave the size of the Union Army, as well as which
direction the army was going. All roads converged at Gettysburg, so Lee thought it was the best place
to strike. Also, Harry Heth, a division commander who some blame for the lost of Gettysburg, would
not have attacked until the Confederate army assembled, for they would have known what they were
up against. The Confederate army at full strength could have easily won the battle on day one;
however, Stuart s absence almost lost the battle before it even

Importance Of Grit And Growth Mindset
Imagine if everyone had grit and a growth mindset, we could achieve what we set our minds to and we
could help make students successful. Grit is when you fully apply yourself to achieve your dreams and
take mistakes as a guidance for improvement. Growth Mindset is to have an open mind to new ideas
and to keep developing as a person. Based off of studies, Grit and Growth Mindset seems to be the
most character building traits that have transformed many students live s like us. Grit and Growth
Mindset inspires students to be great because a growth mindset can keep improving, grit will lead you
to find passion which results in success, and although some may say passion is more important, grit
and growth mindset allows you to achieve your dreams. First, a growth mindset can keep improving
due to challenges. For instance, Duckworth presents how a growth mindset can keep improving, Dr
Dweck has shown that when kids read and learn about the brain and how it changes and grows in
response to challenge, they re much more likely to persevere when they fail, because they don t
believe that failure is a permanent condition. (Duckworth 5:09). This shows, that even a student who
has a growth mindset does not succeed, they are inspired to keep improving. In addition, in an article
written by Achieve, presents the concept of how an incredible man conserved his growth mindset,
[Milt Campbell] maintained a positive outlook throughout his final days ( Dream Believer ). This
shows that when

Essay on Airplanes and Aerodynamics
Aerodynamics is generally summarized in these 2 terms: Lift against Weight and Thrust against Drag .
This basically means the amount of flight power generated must be equal to, or greater than the
amount of weight of the airplane, and the amount of pushing generated, must be equal to or greater
than the airs resistance. But the overall question, so far, is how is Lift and Thrust generated? The
answer to how Thrust is generated is quite simple. Its sort of how a car would move, except in a much
different way. Airplanes have 4 engines, which can each exert easily up to 200 PSI of air (pressure per
square inch), composed of liquid fuel cylinders, and internal combustion (like a car). It also tops to
250 km per hour on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pressure is the amount of molecules getting squeezed and impacted by energy. So more pressure will
squeeze and compress more of these air molecules, obviously making them all slow (the amount of
compression the molecules experience is the energy the amount of molecules that experienced this
compression is the pressure!!!) So less pressure is proven to increase the speed (fans, in this case
actually DECREASE the pressure on the air by cutting it with their blades). Also consider that
Bernoulli s principle is fonder with fluids but it also supports aerodynamics. When air flows over the
top of the wing, the curve stretches out the molecules and breaks the atmospheric pressure, which was
compressing those molecules together. That is how air over the wing is faster. So take into perspective
that the compressed air molecules in the bottom make up a sturdy road, and the stretched out and
spaced out air molecules on top simply, make up a freely flowing flow of air. And according to the
power of thrust it is moving along this road with no powerful force impacting above that s your
airplane flying straight forward for sure, but how does the airplane climb? There are 2 different basic
control moves for a plane. The first is pitch, and the second is roll or yawn. When the nose points
upwards the plane climbs, and when it points downwards the plane descends. That s the pitch. So
when our plane tilts its nose upwards the sturdy road of pressurized air molecules tilts

Theme Of Identity In A View From The Bridge
You re a blank, a cipher... a zero. (Albee, 1962, p.18). With these words, Martha the main character in
Who s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? showed her husband, George, that he was nothing. Edward Albee,
the writer of Who s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? talked mainly about Martha and George who pretend to
have different identities just in order not to face reality. Moreover, Arthur Miller, the author of A View
from the Bridge presented the idea of identity in a different way. Miller used the character Eddie to
show how people s identities are constantly changing due to some changes in their lives. Modern
playwrights question the idea of a definite identity.

The story initially takes place at Jardins Publiques where Miss Brill goes every Sunday, as stated by
the narrator: ...the blue sky powdered with gold and great spots of light like white wine splashed over
the Jardins Publiques (862). Jardins Publiques...ermine toque and ma petite chérie are also mentioned
and represent Mansfield s continuous use of French throughout the story, which alludes to the location
of the park being located somewhere in France (862 865). The setting of time being during the 1920s
supports Miss Brill s unease through the way it represents a period of nervousness caused by the two
world wars: The air was motionless, but when you opened your mouth there was just a faint chill, like
a chill from a glass of iced water before you sip, and now and again a leaf came drifting from
nowhere, from the sky (862). This time settings is also supported when the narrator mentions a band
playing in the park every Sunday, referencing a period when this was more common place. The
reference made by the narrator regarding Miss Brill s house also alludes to a different setting, as
shown when she says, she passed the baker s by, climbed the stairs, went into the little dark room her
room like a cupboard (865). Mansfield s contrast in settings is important because it represents Miss
Brill s realization of reality. Thurber and Mansfield both create a contrast between reality and the

Water Privatization Essay
Water is just as important as air, it is a basic need for life, ever since the beginning when one is
searching for life, water is the first thing to look for, without water there is no life. Everyone deserves
to have access to water.
Yet 1/8th of the worlds population doesn t have access to safe and clean drinking water. Most of these
people are from the developing parts of the world, this translates into 884 million people without safe
and clean drinking water, thats equivalent to the size of north and south America. Over the course of
the year 1.5 million people die each year from water related causes. Poor countries have been told that

However, when the company took over their local wells and informal pumps as well as the system
infrastructure, many consumers were priced out of the market, unable to pay the increased water rates,
which in some case had doubled. To further develop this, the world bank forced Cochabamba and El
Alto s water to be privatised because they said if they didn t, they will cut off Bolivia s water
development loans completely. This explains that once water services are privatised, very little can be
done to ensure that the company will work in the best interest of the
community. Furthermore, if a community is dissatisfied with the performance of the company,
buying back the water rights is a very difficult and costly proposition. Again the prime directive of the
water companies is to minimise profits, not to protect consumers
Water privatisation can also have good affects on the developing parts of the world. This is because in
developing countries their public water facilities and infrastructures are not up to date, damaged
and/or not working properly. By privatising water in these underdeveloped regions, this will ensure
that their water facilities are running adequately because people are paying for it. It will also create
revenue through taxes for the government.
However, around 40% of people in the developing world are living in poverty, they are unable to
afford basic necessities as it is, by

The Communist Manifesto, By Karl Marx And Friedrich Engels
All written history is the history of class struggles (Marx). In the year 1848, Karl Marx and Friedrich
Engels decided to publish a manifesto after sitting down and sharing ideas for a period of time. Today,
that piece of writing is known as The Communist Manifesto. In this book, Marx, the principal author
stated that escaping from alienation required a revolution. That was the only possible way in which a
political as well as a social change could have been seen. Therefore, Marx theory implied the use of
violence. In addition, there was another individual, who argued that violence could be justified to gain
independence, the one and only way to be free. Fanon s theory on violence was very obvious and
precise: violence is the means by which the oppressed must gain freedom. On the contrary, Gandhi
understood the use of violence totally different. If the history of the universe had commenced with
wars, not a man would have been found alive to day. Although Marx and Fanon agreed that the use of
violence is necessary and can always be justified, Gandhi intended to prove that nonviolence can lead
a country to democracy. First of all, it is almost impossible to watch the news, or read an article on the
newspaper without encountering the word violence in it. Karl Marx, main author of The Communist
Manifesto and Frantz Fanon who wrote The Wretched of the Earth argued that the use of violence is
always present and unavoidable. In the book Colonial Voices, the first chapter

Impact Of Mercantilism
During the mercantilism simulation, I began to create a better understanding of the process. The
simulation also made me open my eyes to the many struggles and differences that the countries and
colonies face within each other. These countries have to continue trying to trade throughout their
incompleteness. Each country begins to become discouraged, but in order to insure that their colony,
as well as their own health, is stable they must keep trying. Each country finds a new way to persuade
one another. Mercantilism (revolving around trade) is based upon the colonies enriching their mother
country, as the colonies can only work through the countries to receive the materials that they need. If
the countries decide not to improve their colonies needs, then the colonies cannot survive or will have
to find a way to extend their sources or materials. In other words, the mercantile system is developed
to benefit from profitable trading, there must be a reason to trade. (Mercantilism) To better understand
the concepts of mercantilism you must know the terms associated with the process. Exports are goods

The Infancy of Humanitarian Intervention
The Infancy of Humanitarian Intervention
As breaking news is more easily communicated across the globe, the U.N. and other states led forces
are more inclined to intervene more then ever before but sometimes they are faced with the problem of
protecting a states sovereignty. There is a growing skepticism that is facing humanitarian intervention
when a sovereign state fails to protect it s own population. The question arises when humanitarian
intervention supersedes the sovereignty of a state. Does the state remain sovereign or does it lose
authority when an outside party intervenes? Respecting a states sovereignty is a high priority between
the United Nations and other state led forces, but when a sovereign state fails the responsibility protect
it s own citizens there is an unclear line that confuses the legitimacy of humanitarian intervention and
it s principles of military action. The United Nation s humanitarian intervention, and the principles of
its military action, has shown time after time of its failures and successes in combating or escalating
wide spread violence. In this study I will weigh the pros and cons of several conflicts where
humanitarian intervention was deployed and decide if humanitarian intervention was a successful or
unsuccessful procedure. By focusing on what is causing these complications in enforcing
humanitarian intervention within failed states will prove if this practice is just or not. But before I

The Effect Of Low Phonics On The Existing English...
Abstract:
My research English project is about studying the importance and effects of adding Phonics to the
existing English curriculum at the early grades of elementary 4th to 6th grades in Saudi Arabia.
Phonics is an important in the whole English learning process, especially at the early ages and
elementary school years. Phonics depends on sound of words and how to spell them correctly and
accurately.
Currently, there is no structured phonics learning implemented at our elementary schools for English
learning. If the phonics is implemented, it will enhance the spelling of words and pronunciations. By
applying more methods and tools to teach phonics as educational videos, clips and educational
software available in the market. Reading English for those kids will be easier and will be better in
reading comprehension.
Introduction:
Phonics is all about teaching children the sounds in English words. When you can identify sounds in
words and sentences, you are well on your way to becoming literate. Well, with phonics, your child
will have the confidence to identify the vowels, consonants and syllables and can at least attempt to
read the word. Phonics basically teaches your child how to sound out words in the English language.
Phonics is a method for teaching reading and writing by developing learners phonemic awareness.
Phonics is absolutely essential for helping children begin to read. Once the code of reading has been
cracked through phonics, children will then have

Mistakes In Siddhartha
Life: A Trial and Error
Each and everyday countless mistakes are made, some insignificant and some life changing.
Regardless of a mistake s magnitude, all are followed by a set of consequences. While a mistake is an
accidental error in the human decision making process, a consequence is the price in which an
individual must pay as a result. Although mistakes are made without intention, they can, in turn, be
analyzed as a source of knowledge and learning. Hermann Hesse depicts the true value and
importance of mistakes throughout his novel Siddhartha. Experiencing many mistakes along with their
consequences, the novel s protagonist, Siddhartha, learns to face and embrace them as a part of his
path through life. This acceptance in which Siddhartha displays allows him to become closer in his

The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness, explained how our treatment of
criminals has created a new racial caste system, and the only way to make change is by massive social
change and Civil Rights movement. The criminal laws often focus on psychoactive drugs used by the
minority populations. Minorities are disproportionately targeted, arrested, and punished for drug
offenses. For instance, Black, Latino, Native American, and many Asian were portrayed as violent,
traffickers of drugs and a danger to society. Surveillance was focused on communities of color, also
immigrants, the unemployed, the undereducated, and the homeless, who continue to be the main
targets of law enforcement efforts to fight the war on drugs. Although African Americans comprise
only 12.2 percent of the population and 13 percent of drug users, they make up 38 percent of those
arrested for drug offenses and 59 percent of those convicted of drug offenses causing critics to call the
war on drugs the New Jim Crow (drug policy). The drug

Tattoo s Effect On Society
Thank goodness for Thomas Alva Edison s patented invention of the Electronic Pen in 1876. It used a
high speed reciprocating motor to move a single needle and was intended for a document duplication
system used by businesses. Edison s invention was discovered and improved by many, but one stood
out from all the redefined machines, and that was Samuel O Reilly s invention of the first functioning
electric tattoo machine of 1891. This opened a whole new generation growth in the tattoo realm. More
enhancements by Percy Waters with his improved, very close to modern day, tattoo machine of 1929.

Empathy is what differs androids from humans but what if androids has implanted memories as
Rachel Rosen (another android) has and can value human life and animals life because of the
memories she has. What differs the andys from the humans then if they act exactly like us, think like
us and can show empathy towards other living creatures? Rick Deckard has no empathy towards
living thing but for himself and what makes him human and not an android? Rick questions his
existence if he really is human or actually an android. But he realizes that he is human because he
eventually empathize with androids, his wife and the electric animals.

Pom Rug Essay
Pom Pom Rugs in The Making Pom Pom rugs are a great way to show school spirit. They are great for
Classrooms, bedrooms and even bathrooms. An effective Pom Pom rug maker would include; buying
the materials, wrapping, tying and placing the yarn on the mat correctly. The initial step that would
have to be used to create the Pom Pom rug would be to pick out the colors of yarn that are needed to
make the rug. Any number of colors used would be fine to make the rug. The more colors are used the
better the rug will turn out as long as they all coincide. School colors are a great way to show school
spirit, especially in classrooms. Secondarily the size of the Mat is very important. Depending on how
many colors are being used, and how big the space is that the mat will be placed it could be anywhere
from 5 to 10 feet long. Then the maker of the rug would have to decide what type of mat that will be
used. The mat would be better the more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Greek Treatment Of Women In Medea By Euripides
A Greek Tragedy, Medea, by Euripides gives a backstory on the life of an adventurer and a woman
madly in love. Previous Greek tragedies state that Jason, the love of Medea s life only loves her in
order to retrieve the Golden Fleece to retain his rightful throne. His encounter with Medea results to
him agreeing to marry her so that she could assist him in his journey. Medea holds great power and
judgement as a sorceress. The beginning of the play told by the nurse synopsizes the story of Medea s
melodramatic situation. Euripides illustrates her differently as a woman in her society during her time
of era. They may be seen as victims, heroes, and villains. In further explanation, Medea s origin seems
to be unusual to Greek standards. She comes from a royal family in the land of Colchis. Through
Greek standards, women were meant to be housewives, cooking and cleaning. They had no say in
their society due to men holding a higher status; in fact Euripides criticizes the male domination of
society. It appears that men are seen as imbeciles. For example, King Creon made a wrong mistake not
exiling Medea right then and there. By allowing her to stay her plans are set for action; Now if you
must stay, stay for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Back then woman were shown as insignificant to Greek men; but when women made appearances in
tragedies, their performance consisted of complex roles. They often took the role of major characters
as they made impersonations of victims, heroes, and villains. Evidence from Medea refers to these
impersonation. As a hero, Medea is the daughter of Aeetes, King of Colchis, therefore since she is a
royal she may be considered a tragic hero. As a victim, Medea goes through an unsettling situation
amongst her partner which explains her reason for being upset, Besides, divorce is unsavory for a

Ecological Imperialism by Alfred W. Crosby
In the book Ecological Imperialism: The Biological expansion of Europe, 900 1900 the author, Alfred
W. Crosby, answers many questions about the history of European expansion. It is a well written and
thought out book with great analogies and detailed information that help the reader understand what
exactly Crosby is trying to say. He starts off his book by explaining what the Neo Europes are. They
are a population who settled in the temperate zones and are mainly European descents. The questions
he is attempting to explain is why there is a substantial mass of Europeans in these different lands
which were so far flung from Europe. The European emigrants have scattered among many lands in
the world, and have become the leading ethnic group in most regions outside of Europe. In addition,
Crosby reflects on how the Neo Europes were able to provide vast food excess. His most important
question though, is if European humans have triumphed because of their superiority in arms,
organization and fanaticism... or Perhaps the success of European imperialism has a biological, an
ecological, component. (p.7) Further in the book Crosby explains his questions to the readers. First
and foremost, the history of the stone age is important. The first humans created stepping stones to
create a different future that is today. Looking back in history there were massively giant creatures that
we couldnt even imagine roaming the earth today. Dating back to the stone age they succeeded

We memorize items through what is known as the Information Processing Model, one of the many
models scientists use to interpret our memory. The Processing Model operates like a computer where
we receive an input for the result of an output. Our sensory memory is what commences the
Information Processing Model. Sensory memory is the temporary register of all the information your
senses are taking in , and each of the five senses endures for a certain amount of time (Khan
Academy). We have a total five senses, although the most studied amongst them are our haptic
memory (touch), our iconic memory (visual), and echoic memory (audio). When the information lasts
long enough, the sensory information then gets delivered to our working memory or otherwise known
as our short term memory. Working memory is just whatever you are thinking about right at this . Our
working memory can hold round and about 7 pieces of information at a time although people with
physiological ailments such as dementia greatly suffer in this area making it hard for them to simply
be attentive, recall instructions, etc. We use our working memory in classrooms, working
environment, etc. For example, when I read and try to comprehend a passage during my reading or
literature exam to answer the questions, I would simply be utilizing my working memory. Our
working memory processes information according to the type of input that was initially received. Our

Analysis Of The Book Ordinary Grace, By William Kent...
Faith and Forgiveness In FYS we were taught many ways to live in the world through the stories we
read, speeches we listen to, and the projects we did. In the book, Ordinary Grace, by William Kent
Krueger, The Chosen, by Chaim Potok, and Destiny of The Republic, by Candice Millard, I saw a few
prominent themes of how one should live. In these three books I learned about the author s voice
through their writings. I saw how one should live their life. In these books the authors shared common
themes through their writings. The authors showed how to live life with forgiveness and live life with

As Nathan was treated poorly throughout the story I really saw him forgive his wife time and time
again throughout the book. After the death of Nathan and Ruth s daughter Ariel their relationship was
tested to the max. Ruth would isolate herself from her husband and she almost despised him for not
being upset with the Lord. Ruth could not accept how Nathan turned to God because she blamed God
for all of this. While Nathan was being ignored, looked as bad, or just despised by his wife, he did not
fold in and say whatever I give up. Nathan had an understanding and forgiving mindset he understood
why his wife felt like this. Nathan forgave his wife while she was in the progress of despises him.
Nathan never acted this way towards her, he simply turned the other cheek. Nathan showed a great
will power by being able to forgive his wife so easily. This spoke volumes because he simply lived his
life in a forgiving manner. As Nathan showed his faith and forgiveness through the story I saw a true
man of God. Nathan lived in such a way where he could forgive people for the things they did and this
was because of how strong he was in his faith. Living a life like Nathan means to live a life for God. A
true man of God allowed for Nathan to live a very purposeful life. As one reflects on the story, The
Chosen, by Chaim Potok they will see many instances of faith and forgiveness throughout the story. A

nature on how we live our lives; always looking for what is next but never enjoying what we have in

Importance Of Black History Month
The purpose of this paper is to inform readers about the importance of the celebration of African
American History Month. There is a misconception about African American or Black History Month.
Black History Month is the annual festivals that have been observed in the United States to recognize
the achievements of African American Social Reformers, Civil Rights Activists, and other essentials
people in Black History. This paper will focus on the reasons behind the celebration. I ponder the
importance of celebrating African American History Month. I also contemplate on the main reason to
celebrate the event in February.
Black History Month or African American History Month is celebrated every year to recognize the
vital role of African American in the United States History. Black History Month has been honor in
February. The main reasons to mark February as a History Month was because the birthday of
President Abraham Lincoln who abolished slavery is in February. Also, the birthday of Frederick
Douglass, who was a social reformer and abolitionist, is on the week of February. The other reason is
an African American gain the right to vote in February. Those ideas make February commemorate

Legal Hustler
My Life as a Legal Hustler That moment when you realize your mother will not give you any money,
so you have to find another way to make some. A lot of you may have been in that situation, just as I

me that I either had to wait until Christmas or my birthday. I could not wait that long, so I set out to
make some money on my own.
My mother s friend, Casime, took me to school January 12, 2009. On the ride there, he told me about
how he use to hustle candy at school, I was all ears when it came to listening to his story. The next
day, he surprised me with a fourteen dollar box of candy, a mixed Skittles and Starburst thirty piece

sixteen dollar profit. That day was challenging, especially since I did not have any customer service

The first day of selling candy was not what I expected it to be, I only sold two packs of Starburst and

John Rigas Founded Adelphia Communications Corporation
John Rigas founded Adelphia Communications Corporation ( ACC ) in 1952 for $300. The company
was fittingly named Adelphia, Greek for brother, as it employed generations of Rigas family. Skip
ahead twenty years; Adelphia officially became incorporated. Roughly ten years later, John Rigas
bought out his brother Gus stake, and his three sons became employees of Adelphia. His son in law
was also the head of the board of directors. This positioned the Rigas family into all of the senior
executive positions at ACC. After continued corporate growth, ACC made its initial public offering in
1986, yet the Rigas family held nearly all of the control over every aspect of operations. (International
Directory of Company Histories, 2003)
Adelphia s initial board was made up of nine board members and five of the nine were the family of
John Rigas, owner and founder of Adelphia. This meant that the Rigases had 100% ownership of class
B super voting shares, which gave the family majority voting rights. This is how the family
maintained control of the board even after the company went public. Investors did not quickly pick up
on this, as this was the era of the tech bubble and most were just looking to get in on it.
In an attempt to be competitive with large cable companies, ACC made several large acquisitions in
1999. Rigas acquired three cable companies at a price tag of over $8 billion growing Adelphia s

Community Corrections And Prisons
The use of community corrections would be beneficial to the United States. Because it will help,
reduce the overcrowding in jails and prisons. With community corrections, offenders will be able to
remain as a productive member off society while still serving their sentence. The majority of
incarcerated people have committed nonviolent offenses (drugs, burglary, and other). By taking them
out of Jail and place those in community correction programs it will help cut the prison population.
One of major problems that affect the ability of corrections to function as a system is the

The Myth Of The Latin Woman By Judith Ortiz Cofer
How do you deal with stereotypes towards yourself or others that have experienced them? People are
stereotyped by their physical features and by the information we know about a certain group. They are
judged by their physical features instead of seeing what they are really capable of doing. Usually not
being involved in such a diverse community can cause that because they are accustomed to what s
near them. Exploring and learning about others will help shatter stereotypes. We ll explore in Sucheng
Chan and Judith Ortiz Cofer essays on how they ve been stereotyped and what they ve done to shatter
the quo.
People are stereotyped by their physical features and by the information we know about a certain
group. In a chapter in The Myth Of The Latin Woman an essay by Judith Ortiz Cofer, the author
speaks about women seeing as sexual objects. In the chapter, she says The males were given an
opportunity to admire the women and to express their admiration in the form of pirops. The men
would see the women as sexual objects and not as human beings. The way she and friends dressed
shouldn t give men the right to harass them publicly. I thought you latin girls were suppose to mature
early was a phrase one of her boyfriends told her when she was young (111,113). This is significant
because it shows how American culture sees Hispanic women. Ortiz Cofer explains how different
cultures can interpret things differently. Ortiz Cofer explains stereotypes can be broken by education

seems like randomly strewn numbers, but Langdon knows that Sauniere is a smart man, and that they
must mean something. Before he can possibly make any sense of it, Agent Sophie Neveu from the
DCPJ s Cryptology Department arrives to break the code. While at the museum she reveals privately
to Langdon that they are both in great danger. The Judicial Police think that Langdon has killed

Sophie s name becomes a key in solving it, proving her importance all along. Perhaps the most
important characteristic about Sophie is a secret that has been kept from her throughout her whole life.
She was told at a young age that the reason she grew up with her grandfather was because her parents
were in a car crash. As far as we know, the information was true, but the reasons ran deeper. Sophie s
family got split up to protect itself. Sophie and her family are direct descendants of Jesus Christ. In the
event that Ms. Neveu were to ask for an evening spent in my company, I would be very honored and

life. I m sure she holds feelings of regret and possibly even some shame for disowning him. Of course,
I understand where she was coming from at the time, but she perhaps should have given him the time
of day to explain the mishap. In addition, I d like to know how she

Procedure Assessment Exercises
The procedure assessment exercises that were consolidated into this usage procedure were a verbal
test, pre/post test, noting unknown inquiries, and re going over the test toward the end. While a

For one of our first targets, we needed the understudies at Magnolia Science Academy to have the
capacity to distinguish towards the end of the session three, distinct contraceptives, which then
transformed it to one in view of time requirements. To test this objective, to check whether they were
absorbing the information. We put it as the inquiry in the post test segment of the session. The inquiry
was expressed, to name one approach to avoid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, check whether they can perceive that it is essential to practice safe sex practices and how they
can be flawed. The information uncovered that most understudies comprehended one of the real
hindrances of condoms was putting it on wrong or not knowing how to put it on effectively. At the
point when posed the question what is a disadvantage of the utilization of a condom, the age groups
disagree. While most 18 years express that not putting on a condom effectively versus the 17 years
who agreed that not putting on a condom, but as well as allergic reaction and breakage are cause of a
disadvantage. Out of gender, 5/10 females said stated that was one of the major weakness of condoms
along with male being 4/9. Which then drove us into a discussion on how to put on a condom
efficiently and how to know whether it s on accurately. One of the namelessly questions was how
would they know whether his condom is on a properly? You can see these illustrations in the appendix
c and see the inquiries asked alongside the information in the index a figure

Word count in this document: 1500 Title: What is the difference between a medical power of attorney and a durable power of attorney? Life happens, and we can t stop accidents, illnesses, and aging from happening. We don t want to think about these things, but they are something we need to address. • 3. Lapland Photography Indeed challenging, rephotography has grown in practice and some have become iconic. For some time, Mark Klett and colleagues have produced the most comprehensive examples of the changing land and open spaces in the American West (Klett, Manchester, Verburg, Busham, Dingus, 1984; Ware, 2011). In the mid 1970s, Klett and his team rephotographed 19th century photographs originally taken by Timothy O Sullivan, William Henry Jackson, and others commissioned by the U.S. government led surveys of the American West in the 1870s (see Ch. 3). Revisiting 120 locations 100 years later, they captured the same historic places with precision and detail from the same vantage points, lighting conditions, time of day, and time of year. Klett and associates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After examining 19th century images of the Sámi from an archive Puranen found in Paris and photos from poet Nils Aslak Valkeapää of Finnish Lapland, in addition to notes by Prince Roland Bonaparte s original expedition of Lapland that was documented by French photographer G. Roche, Puranen visited Finnish Lapland, the region near the north of Norway and Iceland. Puranen tracked down many of the places and people related to the surnames identified in the notes and others sources researched, which culminated in the book Imaginary Homecoming that contains archival photos from 1884 juxtaposed with his photos taken from 1991 to 1997. Like Klett and Wolfe, Puranen recreated the original scene of the archived image that bridges the distance between time and space to illustrate changes to the land over the past hundred years. Puranen s photos captured the culture of the Sámi of Lapland as well as the traditions of everyday life past and present that endured despite migration in the northern region. His photos represent the vanishing diaspora of Lapland and expose how modernity and development intruded on a marginalized group on the edge of society, which Wells (2011) suggests is a contemporary example of social and philosophical commentary that questions the ideological tensions relating to land (p. 254). Others have also documented Finland s vulnerability as global warming encroaches on the region and these photos reveal the dichotomy between the city and country as many Finnish remain loyal to their rural heritage yet embrace modernity and technology as Finland is home to telecommunications giant ... • 4. Essay On Veterans Rights The issue that has been addressed throughout this study is veteran s rights. The issue of veteran s rights is still being pursued and is near and dear to me. Not only am I a veteran, but I come from a long line of men and women who have proudly worn the uniform in defense of our nation. Between the mindset of the American public, to the cases presented before Congress, this is an ongoing dilemma. Caring for our brothers and sisters in arms is the socially responsible thing to do. However, many roadblocks must be torn down before this can come to fruition. Problems Faced What some the symptoms of veteran s rights look like in regards to how they are addressed, are in multitude. They range in length from health care, education, to basic family needs. Overall, the American public does not pay attention to veterans, and this is mostly in part because the issues that plague our veterans are often deemed irrelevant by the average ... Many people consider this the turning point of the Civil War, for every major battle prior to this won by the Confederate Army, led under the famous Robert E. Lee. There were many men at fault for the Confederate loss, however the only person to fully blame is the cavalry leader J.E.B. Stuart. He was in the wrong by not doing his job; Stuart failed to give the position of the Union Army before the battle, he failed to give the information necessary during the battle, and he failed to re enforce the Confederate army. • 9. Importance Of Grit And Growth Mindset Imagine if everyone had grit and a growth mindset, we could achieve what we set our minds to and we could help make students successful. Grit is when you fully apply yourself to achieve your dreams and take mistakes as a guidance for improvement. Growth Mindset is to have an open mind to new ideas and to keep developing as a person. Based off of studies, Grit and Growth Mindset seems to be the most character building traits that have transformed many students live s like us. Grit and Growth Mindset inspires students to be great because a growth mindset can keep improving, grit will lead you to find passion which results in success, and although some may say passion is more important, grit and growth mindset allows you to achieve your dreams. First, a growth mindset can keep improving due to challenges. For instance, Duckworth presents how a growth mindset can keep improving, Dr Dweck has shown that when kids read and learn about the brain and how it changes and grows in response to challenge, they re much more likely to persevere when they fail, because they don t believe that failure is a permanent condition. (Duckworth 5:09). This shows, that even a student who has a growth mindset does not succeed, they are inspired to keep improving. In addition, in an article written by Achieve, presents the concept of how an incredible man conserved his growth mindset, [Milt Campbell] maintained a positive outlook throughout his final days ( Dream Believer ). • 10. Essay on Airplanes and Aerodynamics Aerodynamics is generally summarized in these 2 terms: Lift against Weight and Thrust against Drag . This basically means the amount of flight power generated must be equal to, or greater than the amount of weight of the airplane, and the amount of pushing generated, must be equal to or greater than the airs resistance. But the overall question, so far, is how is Lift and Thrust generated? The answer to how Thrust is generated is quite simple. Its sort of how a car would move, except in a much different way. Airplanes have 4 engines, which can each exert easily up to 200 PSI of air (pressure per square inch), composed of liquid fuel cylinders, and internal combustion (like a car). So more pressure will squeeze and compress more of these air molecules, obviously making them all slow (the amount of compression the molecules experience is the energy the amount of molecules that experienced this compression is the pressure!!!) So less pressure is proven to increase the speed (fans, in this case actually DECREASE the pressure on the air by cutting it with their blades). Also consider that Bernoulli s principle is fonder with fluids but it also supports aerodynamics. When air flows over the top of the wing, the curve stretches out the molecules and breaks the atmospheric pressure, which was compressing those molecules together. That is how air over the wing is faster. So take into perspective that the compressed air molecules in the bottom make up a sturdy road, and the stretched out and spaced out air molecules on top simply, make up a freely flowing flow of air. And according to the power of thrust it is moving along this road with no powerful force impacting above that s your airplane flying straight forward for sure, but how does the airplane climb? There are 2 different basic control moves for a plane. The first is pitch, and the second is roll or yawn. However, when the company took over their local wells and informal pumps as well as the system infrastructure, many consumers were priced out of the market, unable to pay the increased water rates, which in some case had doubled. To further develop this, the world bank forced Cochabamba and El Alto s water to be privatised because they said if they didn t, they will cut off Bolivia s water development loans completely. This explains that once water services are privatised, very little can be done to ensure that the company will work in the best interest of the community. Furthermore, if a community is dissatisfied with the performance of the company, buying back the water rights is a very difficult and costly proposition. Again the prime directive of the water companies is to minimise profits, not to protect consumers Water privatisation can also have good affects on the developing parts of the world. This is because in developing countries their public water facilities and infrastructures are not up to date, damaged and/or not working properly. By privatising water in these underdeveloped regions, this will ensure that their water facilities are running adequately because people are paying for it. It will also create revenue through taxes for the government. However, around 40% of people in the developing world are living in poverty, they are unable to afford basic necessities as it is, by ... In the year 1848, Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels decided to publish a manifesto after sitting down and sharing ideas for a period of time. Today, that piece of writing is known as The Communist Manifesto. In this book, Marx, the principal author stated that escaping from alienation required a revolution. That was the only possible way in which a political as well as a social change could have been seen. Therefore, Marx theory implied the use of violence. In addition, there was another individual, who argued that violence could be justified to gain independence, the one and only way to be free. Fanon s theory on violence was very obvious and precise: violence is the means by which the oppressed must gain freedom. On the contrary, Gandhi understood the use of violence totally different. If the history of the universe had commenced with wars, not a man would have been found alive to day. Although Marx and Fanon agreed that the use of violence is necessary and can always be justified, Gandhi intended to prove that nonviolence can lead a country to democracy. First of all, it is almost impossible to watch the news, or read an article on the newspaper without encountering the word violence in it. Each country begins to become discouraged, but in order to insure that their colony, as well as their own health, is stable they must keep trying. Each country finds a new way to persuade one another. Mercantilism (revolving around trade) is based upon the colonies enriching their mother country, as the colonies can only work through the countries to receive the materials that they need. If the countries decide not to improve their colonies needs, then the colonies cannot survive or will have to find a way to extend their sources or materials. The Infancy of Humanitarian Intervention The Infancy of Humanitarian Intervention As breaking news is more easily communicated across the globe, the U.N. and other states led forces are more inclined to intervene more then ever before but sometimes they are faced with the problem of protecting a states sovereignty. There is a growing skepticism that is facing humanitarian intervention when a sovereign state fails to protect it s own population. Respecting a states sovereignty is a high priority between the United Nations and other state led forces, but when a sovereign state fails the responsibility protect it s own citizens there is an unclear line that confuses the legitimacy of humanitarian intervention and it s principles of military action. Abstract: My research English project is about studying the importance and effects of adding Phonics to the existing English curriculum at the early grades of elementary 4th to 6th grades in Saudi Arabia. Phonics is an important in the whole English learning process, especially at the early ages and elementary school years. Phonics depends on sound of words and how to spell them correctly and accurately. Currently, there is no structured phonics learning implemented at our elementary schools for English learning. If the phonics is implemented, it will enhance the spelling of words and pronunciations. By applying more methods and tools to teach phonics as educational videos, clips and educational software available in the market. Reading English for those kids will be easier and will be better in reading comprehension. Introduction: Phonics is all about teaching children the sounds in English words. When you can identify sounds in words and sentences, you are well on your way to becoming literate. • 25. Greek Treatment Of Women In Medea By Euripides A Greek Tragedy, Medea, by Euripides gives a backstory on the life of an adventurer and a woman madly in love. Previous Greek tragedies state that Jason, the love of Medea s life only loves her in order to retrieve the Golden Fleece to retain his rightful throne. His encounter with Medea results to him agreeing to marry her so that she could assist him in his journey. Medea holds great power and judgement as a sorceress. The beginning of the play told by the nurse synopsizes the story of Medea s melodramatic situation. Euripides illustrates her differently as a woman in her society during her time of era. They may be seen as victims, heroes, and villains. In further explanation, Medea s origin seems to be unusual to Greek standards. She comes from a royal family in the land of Colchis. Through Greek standards, women were meant to be housewives, cooking and cleaning. They had no say in their society due to men holding a higher status; in fact Euripides criticizes the male domination of society. It appears that men are seen as imbeciles. For example, King Creon made a wrong mistake not exiling Medea right then and there. By allowing her to stay her plans are set for action; Now if you must stay, stay for ... • 26. Ecological Imperialism by Alfred W. Crosby In the book Ecological Imperialism: The Biological expansion of Europe, 900 1900 the author, Alfred W. Crosby, answers many questions about the history of European expansion. It is a well written and thought out book with great analogies and detailed information that help the reader understand what exactly Crosby is trying to say. He starts off his book by explaining what the Neo Europes are. They are a population who settled in the temperate zones and are mainly European descents. The questions he is attempting to explain is why there is a substantial mass of Europeans in these different lands which were so far flung from Europe. The European emigrants have scattered among many lands in the world, and have become the leading ethnic group in most regions outside of Europe. In addition, Crosby reflects on how the Neo Europes were able to provide vast food excess. His most important question though, is if European humans have triumphed because of their superiority in arms, organization and fanaticism... or Perhaps the success of European imperialism has a biological, an ecological, component. (p.7) Further in the book Crosby explains his questions to the readers. First and foremost, the history of the stone age is important. The first humans created stepping stones to create a different future that is today. Looking back in history there were massively giant creatures that we couldnt even imagine roaming the earth today. The Processing Model operates like a computer where we receive an input for the result of an output. Our sensory memory is what commences the Information Processing Model. Sensory memory is the temporary register of all the information your senses are taking in , and each of the five senses endures for a certain amount of time (Khan Academy). We have a total five senses, although the most studied amongst them are our haptic memory (touch), our iconic memory (visual), and echoic memory (audio). When the information lasts long enough, the sensory information then gets delivered to our working memory or otherwise known as our short term memory. Roughly ten years later, John Rigas bought out his brother Gus stake, and his three sons became employees of Adelphia. His son in law was also the head of the board of directors. This positioned the Rigas family into all of the senior executive positions at ACC. After continued corporate growth, ACC made its initial public offering in 1986, yet the Rigas family held nearly all of the control over every aspect of operations. This meant that the Rigases had 100% ownership of class B super voting shares, which gave the family majority voting rights.
