A Study On Prevention And Treatment Of A Platelet...
Diagnosing prothrombotic diseases early and preventing its complications are significantly essential.
Therefore, this study sought to investigate whether MPV contain diagnostic value that can prompt it to
be utilized as a platelet activation marker and as marker of evidence of thrombotic risk. Platelet
activation is widely acknowledged to be an indicator of likely prothrombotic diseases. Platelet size,
measured as MPV, has been shown to be an indicator of platelet function and is positively linked to
platelet activity indicators (Tsiara et al., 2003). The correlation between platelet size and function can
be attributed to the larger platelets that activated megakaryocyte produce in the bone marrow likely to
be more reactive and easier to aggregate than the normal platelets. Such is because the larger platelets
secret more β thromboglobulin and serotonin, have denser granules, generate more thromboxane in
comparison to the smaller platelets while also showing more activity than the smaller platelets
(Dastjerdi et al., 2006). Therefore, the hyperactive large platelets contribute considerably in speeding
the formation and spread of intracoronary thrombus. This causes acute thrombotic events to occur
(Smith et al., 1999). Increased MPV levels are exhibited to constitute an independent predictor for
recurrent MI, ischemic vascular events or even death caused by coronary artery disease (Wang et al.,
2011; Chu et al., 2010; Huczek et al., 2005). Dogan et al. (2012) linked MPV

The Secret Life Of Bees Theme Essay
In the book called The Secret Life of Bee s written by Sue Monk Kidd there are characters such as
Lily, Rosaline, T.Ray, Deborah, August, May, Zach, etc. From the list of characters stated one that I
admire the most and seem to have a lot in common in is Zach. I admire him due to his determination,
his want to be a lawyer, and especially due to the fact that he plays football. Well Zachery Taylor (His
full name) is as determined as they come. Living in a world full of Racist white men with white
privilege breathing down his neck. Zach will just keep on churning through everything. Small
examples of his determination are Law schools being explicit to whites only. Stating his only way of
being educated is unavailable. Some ways he tries to overcome this is communicating with Clayton
Forrest (Lawyer). He ends up learning off Clayton to learn tips and tricks. He uses it as an alternative
to school. Falling in love with Lily also shows another hump in his life that he overcomes with
determination. Knowing it s a white man s world and being caught with Lily will be a serious crime
due to the time. So for that he keeps it lowkey. Everything seems to go good for Zach until he is ...

Jane Long s Jane Long-The Mother Of Texas
The Mother of Texas
Jane Long, also known as the mother of Texas, is one of the most important historical figures of all
time. Growing up she had a difficult life, from her father dying before she reached the age of one to
her mother dying just a few short years later. Jane was a tenacious woman, when she set her mind on
doing something she would always follow through with it.
Jane met her husband James, a physician, when he had traveled into Natchez to help as a surgeon at
the battle of New Orleans. They soon fell in love and wanted to get married , but Barbara, Jane s sister
said no because she felt they were too young. But, both Jane and James were steadfast on marrying
each other. So, James came up with the plan that because Jane was ... Show more content on

men in town and they started to plan an expedition into Texas. What they intended to do was sencure
independence from Spain and also open the state to American settlement. Out of all the men in town,
James was chosen to lead the expedition into Texas. But, because Jane was expecting another child
soon she decided to stay behind in Natchez and promised to meet them there as soon as possible. Not
long after, their second child, Rebecca, was born in June, 1819. Only twelve days after she gave birth
to Rebecca, she joined James which made her one of the very few women to be brave enough to travel
into the Texas frontier. Sadly, Jane became ill on the way to Texas and had to stay with her sister in
Louisiana till she was fully recovered. While she was there, her sister talked her into leaving her
children with her, but little did she know, her second daughter Rebecca died a month later from an
unknown cause. When Jane finally met up with her husband,

Examine the way that the two scenes from the Sixth Sense...
The intriguing supernatural thriller, Sixth Sense, combines a mixture of honesty and deception to
create a film which is renowned as having one of the most unpredictable and satisfying endings, at
least in recent cinema. Directed by M. Night Shyamalan, the film reveals the tortured existence of
Cole, a very unique little boy, cursed with a unique but sinister gift, a sixth sense the ability to see the
dead. Haunted by these apparitions since birth and unable to share his troubles for fear of suspicion of
his insanity, Cole struggles under the burden of his gift, leaving him disturbed and isolated from those
around him until the more obvious signs of his mental turmoil begin to appear in his behaviour.
However, shortly after a violent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the following two scenes it is possible to find many instances of the techniques which make this
possible and to perceive more fully the connection between what we are shown and what this leads us
to presume.
In the first of the two scenes we witness the introduction of Cole and Dr Crowe in what appears to be
a pre arranged visit. A vital part of convincing the audience of his existence is in creating the illusion
of interaction between himself and others and in the opening of the scene, the body language of Cole s
mother and Dr Crowe is used to suggest this. In medium shot, (often used to provide a ?blank sheet?
for emotions), we see the two characters in profile. While Dr Crowe is calm and smiling slightly, Cole
s mother holds her body angled away from him and has a tight, cold expression, giving a definite
impression of tension. From this it appears that a conversation and more probably a disagreement has
taken place between them, as a ghost he would be unable to do this, the audience would have no
reason to suspect him at this point. The tension also allows us to presume that she looks away from
him in order to avoid his gaze, rather than as a result of his invisibility. However, both here and when
Cole enters the room medium close up shots and shots over the shoulder provide us with a view Dr
Crowe s line of sight and of course it is only natural to assume that if his gaze was

Political Movements In The Stonewall Riots, And The Rights...
Summary Political movements have changed and developed over time. Many have survived the
decades, and are just as alive now as they were fifty years ago. The rights of women and people of
color sparked movements dating back to the 1960s and earlier, and both are back in the spotlight
today. Environmental activism became an important issue in the 1970s, and is still a concern today,
although to a lesser extent. Although the gay rights discussion at the national level began following the
Stonewall Riots in 1969, and Pride Parades began popping up nationwide shortly thereafter, LGBT
individuals had no legal rights or protections before the increased activism of this decade (Dreier,
2015). Peace movements are also found in many different time periods, reflecting an ever prevalent
anti war sentiment that becomes visible whenever our country engages in foreign conflict. Due to the
extended nature of political movements, political songs tend to have relevance extending far beyond
their release date. While Sam Cooke s anti segregation rhetoric is outdated, the references to
institutional racism are not, and the hope that changes will be made to bring an end to racial disparity
is perennial. A change may have come, but much more change is still needed. Leslie Gore s You Don t
Own Me could just as easily be an anthem for women today as it was in 1963. The issues of police
brutality and the inner city cycle of poverty are just as crucial today as they were when The Message

The first project entitled Contemporary City is for a city of 3 million inhabitants.
The city comprised a group of skyscrapers cross shaped steel frames and glass walls giants, housing
offices and homes for the rich, each placed in rectangular green areas. In their midst is a large
transport hub with highways on several levels, and an airport on the top floor. Le Corbusier separates
the pedestrian access routes for cars, the unconditional supporter of cars as a means of transport.
The workers lived in the suburbs in zigzag blocks.
The next project, Radiant City is built along the same principles, only blocks are no longer built on
social criteria, but on the number of family members.
Le Corbusier s early work was related to nature, but as his ideas progressed, he developed the Maison
Domino, a basic building concept for mass production with free standing pillars and rigid floors. He
settled in Paris in 1917 where he published his book called Vers une architecture (Towards a New
Architecture), based on his earlier articles in L Esprit

Cultural Conflict In America
A current cultural conflict taking place in America today is religious. Many Americans discriminate
against the Islamic faith and there have been countless acts of mistreatment of Muslims in the work
place, at school, in public, and in the media. Negative feelings and acts toward Muslims have become
so prevalent that in 1991 the Runnymede Trust Report coined a term for it. The report defined the
unfounded hostility toward Muslims, and therefore fear or dislike of all or most Muslims as
Islamophobia (Defining Islamophobia ). There has always been some religious cultural conflict with
Muslims in the United States, but since the 9/11 terrorist attacks, conflict has escalated significantly.
There have been lots of reported incidents and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many Muslims are Arab and for that reason many people automatically associate Arab, no matter what
their religion, with Islam and violence. Racism is the belief that one racial group is innately superior to
another (Samovar 238). This belief can be expressed in a few different ways. Intense racism is the
belief that all members of a group are inferior (M. Hu, personal communications, November 18th,
2015). Racism can also be symbolic, which entails the belief that the out group interferes with the
culture. This is a worry that some Americans have because they irrationally fear that Muslims are
trying to change the country. Tokenism is a third type of expressing racism and is when people do not
admit that they are racist and even try to act evenly. The final expression of racism is termed arm s
length and is when an individual is nice to the other group of people in some setting, but not others.
Tokenism and arms length racism are probably the most frequently seen in the United States. Many
Americans try to act like that do not view Muslims differently but when you observe their interacts or
hear them speak about Muslims their beliefs tend to be discriminatory or prejudice. There are a few
ways to avoid racism. The first is to be honest with to and analyze your thoughts and belief with a
critical eye to determine if you hold any racist views (Samovar 239).

E Tax Vs. Other Countries
e Tax Vs. Other countries The United States of America has a marginal corporate tax rate of 35%, but
after state taxes it reaches an astonishing 39.1%. That does not include the fact that there are
additional taxes at some local levels. This is the third highest corporate tax rate in the world following
only the United Arab Emirates, and Chad. It is true our tax rates are very high, and many American
companies say that they are not able to compete globally because of these taxes. Still, they find a way
to succeed through the loophole infested 72,000 plus pages of U.S. tax code. As a corporation if you

Bermuda, The Bahamas, and The Cayman Islands have tax rates of 0%, while Ireland has a tax rate of
12.5% which is still significantly lower than most developed countries. Around 70 billion dollars
every year are lost by the U.S. from these offshore tax shelter countries. The reason that these small

Analysis of Women Role´s in Louisa May Alcott´s Little Women
Throughout most of the 19th century, feminine behavior was expected from every respectable woman.
However Lousia May Alcott s novel Little Women displays interesting qualities from her characters
that represent aberrance and independence; Alcott challenged conventional beliefs about how women
should behave in the 1800s. Similar to Alcott herself, the main character was determined to become a
writer despite the fact that popular portrayals of working women during the era often pictured them as
socially deviant and was considered unfit to become a motherly figure (Alcott, Louisa May). She
wrote Little Women as a moral paper for children, allowing any young reader to relate to at least one
of the March Girls: Meg, Jo, Beth, or Amy ( In the Garret ). In her innovative novel Little Women,
Alcott expresses her controversial views concerning traditional roles of women through the
temperamental protagonist, Jo, who represents independence and morality for girls in the late 1800s.
Traditional roles of women in America during the 1860s were significantly different than they are
today. Around the Civil War era, most women were expected to be homemakers above anything else.
They spent much of their days cooking, sewing, or cleaning, and if they failed to create a cheerful,
cozy home environment, they were looked down upon because it was considered unacceptable
according to society s standards. ( Literature and Its Times. ) In addition to housework, mothers

Walter Kasper s Jesus The Christ
Among the numerous works that are dedicated to the study of Christological and soteriological
themes, the work of Walter Kasper, Jesus the Christ, stands out with a vigor and character. This work
is considered, in itself, an outline of the overall presentation of the great Christological concerns. The
author, who seems to be a well acquainted with the exhibition of the Christological themes from
classical theology, has devoted many hours to the study of modern philosophy. To all of this, it must
be added that Kasper suggests that he approaches the life and work of the Redeemer with the desire to
transmit the received tradition I a living way, that is, in conjunction and confrontation with the
comments and questions of a particular time. In this way, Kasper seems to understand his work as a
contemporary transmission of an inheritance from the past and of responsible commentary on
tradition.
This transmission and responsible commentary on tradition must be understood in the context of a
double judgement made by Kasper around Christianity and the philosophical thought. Kasper suggests
that Christianity is in a transitional state. In terms of philosophical thought, the author claims that the
modern principle of subjective, the process in which man posits himself as the starting point and
measure for understanding reality as a whole, is certainly in relation to the history of Christianity. In
this way, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Relationship Between Orthodontic And Periodontics
The term synergy refers to two or more agents acting together to create an effect greater than that
predicted by knowing only the separate effects of the individual agents. This definition is applicable to
the classic relationship between orthodontic and periodontics specialties in treating patients.1
An Interdisciplinary approach is often necessary to treat complex dental problems in our patients and
the example is ortho perio inter relation. A desire to improve dentofacial appearance has been found to
be the primary motivating factor for seeking treatment in adults.
Plaque is a major etiologic factor in the development of periodontal disease.
Results from past animal studies done in dentitions with reduced periodontium showed that in the
absence of plaque, orthodontic forces and tooth movements do not induce gingivitis. The orthodontic
bands, brackets and wires compromises the self cleansing property of the dentition which further
contribute to the development of gingival inflammation. Gingivitis and gingival over growth appear to
be the main short term effects of orthodontic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

involving either a single tooth or a group of teeth. This may result in the development of a midline

bicuspids and molars with the collapse of the posterior occlusion and decreasing vertical dimension.
Orthodontic treatment either helps to correct these problems, or it helps to prevent them from
progressing further. The main reasons cited to justify the provision of orthodontic treatment are
improvement of facial and dental aesthetics with dental health and function. However, association

Common Causes Of World War I
Through two world wars, there have been many similarities and differences over the course of this
time. It is easy to discuss both wars and how it changed the world, but when comparing common
causes of the war the overall common factors are the imperialism and nationalism that caused these
devastating wars to take place, along with instability both economically and politically all over the
world right before the wars took place. There is so much background history leading up to what
started both tragic wars and it is important to highlight factors like the economics and politics leading
up to the war and the economic life and politics taking place during both world wars along with the
leaders that got these wars to go from a war between a couple countries to a war affecting countries all

Even though this was not a cause of the war it is important to note that in both World War I and in
World War II there were sides that were chosen. It was a battle of the Central Powers against the
Allies. The Central Powers were made up of Germany, the Ottoman Empire, and Austria. While the

as a singular mark, deeply interwoven, as it were, with the texture and substance of her face... shape

from Georgiana as he believes it is a defect and does not believe it belongs on her face. Aylmer s

Georgiana feels that she must look good for Aylmer and because the birthmark is such a flaw in his

Ibsen s Perspective on Women
The Norwegian playwright and dramatist, Henrik Ibsen, wrote several plays on social drama where he
opposed the accepted traditions of the nineteenth century. Some of his most famous plays on society
versus women were A Doll s House, Hedda Gabler, and Pillars of Society. Ibsen supported women and
feminism, contrary to societal norms by creating strong women in the forms of Nora Helmer, Hedda
Tesman, and Lona Hessel from his plays.
In A Doll s House, Ibsen introduces the main character, Nora Helmer, as an independent woman in
order to present his view on society s belief of how women should be housewives and should focus on
their family rather than working. According to Michael Meyer, the character of Nora is a reaction to
the denial of the hoary problem of women s rights (Templeton). Nora s character continuously
attempts to be independent, rather than being dependent on her husband. She wants to be taken
seriously, rather than being a doll in a doll s house, at the disposal of her husband. For example, Nora
says to her husband, Torvald, If I m ever to reach any understanding of myself... I must learn to stand
alone. That s why I can t stay here with you any longer (Ibsen, A Doll s House 81). By including the
dialogue, Ibsen displays how women are strong and should be able to find their own identity without
their husbands oppressing them. The last few lines of the

Importance Of School Counseling
According to the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), Today s school counselors are
vital members of the education team. They help all students in the areas of academic achievement,
personal/social development and career development, ensuring today s students become the
productive, well adjusted adults of tomorrow (2017). The definition of a school counselor has changed
throughout the years. There has been a shift from guidance/vocational counseling to a more well
rounded approach. Moving from guidance to counseling, means different job duties and educational
obstacles. Not only do the job responsibilities include career development, social/emotional
development, and academic achievement; included in this change is focus on student s mental health.
With the advancement of this career to the mental health field, comes with educating stakeholders on
the difference. One way to do this is by producing evidence that counseling techniques work in a
language that most stakeholders understand: academics. The money a public school receives correlates
largely with achievement. If the students do well academically, the school becomes more attractive.
Salaries are better; therefore, more qualified teachers apply and communities become more enticing to
tax paying citizens. Just the opposite, schools that perform poorly academically have higher poverty
level, lower teacher experience, and less money paid per student by the state in which it resides. All of

Why Do We Need The Electoral College
I believe that we don t need the Electoral College for multiple reasons. One of the reasons have to do
with technology and another reason has to do with power. There are more reasons as well. While I
believe that we don t need the Electoral College, if we go with the popular vote then we could run into
issues like the candidates won t actually get more than half of America s vote.
The first reason that I think that we should go with the popular vote is that while the people back then
needed the Electoral College, we don t anymore. Since we have modern technology, we can be
informed by searching the candidates views. Another evidence that we are informed is that there has
only been five times where the popular vote would have given a different president than what the
Electoral college would have picked. That means that the citizens of America are about as informed as
the people in the Electoral college.
The second reason that we should have the people vote instead of the Electoral college is that the
people who aren t part of the Electoral College don t have a say in who our president will be. The only
people who actually have a say is the people involved in the electoral college and that is only 538
people. There are more than 300 million people who should actually get to choose. Another evidence
that we don t need the Electoral ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

evidence would be that the candidates would not have any regional favorites because using electoral

When choosing a great accomplishment that occurred in America before 1876, you will have a lot of

The Capture of Fort Ticonderoga: British Failures in Intelligence The paper is a battle analysis of the
American colonists capture of Fort Ticonderoga in the northern New York colony on 10 May, 1775.
Colonels Benedict Arnold and Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys captured the fort from
Captain William De Laplace and Lieutenant Jocelyn Feltham of the 26th Regiment of Foot (Ward,
1952). The paper also discusses where the British forces failed to use their contemporary intelligence

The British failed to leave cavalry scouts assigned to the garrison to conduct daily patrols in the area
and give reports of possible indicators in the area. Having only 48 men garrisoned at the fort was just
enough to manage the fort, but not enough to get out and to talk with the people around the fort. There
were no spare personnel to conduct atmospherics of the surrounding area; surveilling the population to
see what their sentiment is towards the British troops in the area and their opinion of rebellion against
the British Crown. The garrison commander also failed to keep operational security within his
command. He gave details to Captain Phelps, a complete stranger, about whom he knew. By not using
counterintelligence in the form of deception operations and misinformation, the garrison commander
allowed the colonists to gather intelligence on the morale and fortifications of the garrison. With the
information that the garrison expected reinforcements soon, Colonels Allen and Arnold, now had the
motivation they needed to plan for an immediate attack on the garrison. As history would later show,
the British perpetuated these failures throughout the war and never learned from their mistakes. One
such example would be the battle of Yorktown where the British failed to use deceptions operations to

Elizabethan Poor Laws and the Unworthy Poor Essay
Elizabethan Poor Laws and the Unworthy Poor
Tara McFadden
Indiana University School of Social Work
Abstract
Beginning in the Elizabethan Era, unworthy poor was a label placed on able bodied people that
appeared to choose to not work. They were often treated harshly and in extreme cases, put to death
(Shelly, 2011). In today s society such treatment would be unheard of. The act of even labeling this
group of people or other groups is discouraged and even against the NASW s The Code of Ethics
(2008). When faced with the multi billion dollar price tag of welfare, we need to make a distinction of
who is worthy or unworthy to receive government assistance. The question arises on how this can be

included in an audience participation skit presented by Professors Vernon and Glassburn Larimer It
was based an actual town meeting in the Elizabethan period and included in it was how they dealt with
their unworthy poor (2011). In addition to these educational experiences, I have my own personal

The audience participation skit allowed the class to have a unique learning experience on how a town
dealt with managing its citizens including the unworthy poor. It appeared the town leaders kept the
problems and solutions simple, if a person didn t work and was able to, the person was punished. (R.
Vernon, S. Glassburn Larimer, classroom skit, September 3, 2011). Curiosity leads me to question if
the town officials took into account any other issues that may have interfered with a citizen s desire to
work such as various mental health concerns; depression, anxiety, PTSD, etc.

Classroom Management Reflection
Classroom management is an essential skill that is required of all teachers who wish to be effective
teachers. To have good classroom management, teachers need three skills: self efficacy, classroom
experience, and a passion for teaching. Two of these concepts go hand in hand. If a teacher is
passionate about their profession, they will have a strong sense of self efficacy. Wolff, Jarodzka, and
Boshuizen (2017) state that learning to manage a classroom and teach effectively is complicated, and
the majority of the knowledge and skill development required for effective teaching takes place within
the classroom itself (p. 295). This means that not all teachers start at the same level. There will always
be room for improvement, and teachers will continue to grow and get better as time goes on. There are
many different factors that play into good classroom management, but by far the main three needed
are self efficacy, classroom experience and passion. When the course first began, I assumed that the
concept of classroom management would be fairly straightforward. To the untrained eye, individuals
are either good or bad teachers. If a classroom is filled with chaos, then that instructor is a bad teacher.
By this logic, an individual who handles a room full of students effortlessly is a good teacher.
However, it is only now as we near the end of the course that I realize that things are not that simple.
All teachers, whether good or bad, are capable of having good

Effects of Testing Parameters on Mechanical Properties of Polypropylene
Abstract
Polypropylene being often used as products with live hinges and outdoor usage, is crucial to learn the
limit of how it performs under various circumstances such as extreme temperature or the frequency
and speed on how it is being moved. Its breaking force are also affected by those parameters. Hence it
is important to study how to maximize the usage of the materials. Experiments include tensile test,
Charpy impact test and Shore hardness test.
Introduction
Polypropylene is a thermoplastic used in applications such as packaging, automobile parts, carpeting,
and a lot more application where it involves shearing movements. There are three types of
polypropylene: homo polymer, block copolymer and random copolymer. In this case, random
copolymer polypropylene is used as it can be used for injection molding and application that needs
high impact strength.
Polypropylene is a widely used commodity plastic with high chemical resistance. Being used widely
due to its properties such as good tensile strength, fatigue and heat resistance besides having very high
chemical resistance and used in food industry, also have very low water absorption.

The Baroque And Classical Periods
The Baroque and Classical periods are where we see the emergence of renowned composers like
Handel, Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart and Beethoven. The music from these famous composers are some of
the world s most recognizable and beautiful classics of all time. Music of these eras are still being
used in many of today s movies and commercials. Musical characteristics developed from these eras
are still used and heard presently in popular music.
The art of the Baroque period was very colorful and dramatic, which translated into the music created
at the time. The idea of being very expressive and embellishing in detail would lead to the
development of opera. Opera is a dramatic play that is acted out through music. In opera, a soloist
must be able to act and sing out the mood of the text or libretto. This expressive singing accompanied
by a bass line or basso continuo is called monody. This idea of a new texture would feature the
distinction between the high voice that carries one melody and the low voice or bass. The
accompanying bass line was played by harpsichord with the addition of a bassoon or cello (Wright 6
3a,6 3b).
Claudio Monteverdi, who is considered an originator of opera who composed the earliest example of
the genre called Orfeo. Based on ancient Greek mythology, which was the initial intention of opera,
Orfeo is a drama about the mythical Greek god Orpheus. To rescue his bride Euridice, he goes down
to Hades. In the prologue of Orfeo which is Del mio Permesso amato , the Greek muse La Música sets
the stage for the drama. At first hearing La Música sing, her melodic voice captures my ears and
attention, like letting me know to listen up . As was Monteverdi s intention, I can hear how the
harmony is the same while the melody changes throughout. The melismatic singing that accentuates
certain words emphasize the importance of setting the mood of the opera (Wright, 6 3c).
A great interest in hearing only instrumental music tell the story without text arise. The development
of the concerto grosso which is a small unit of soloists against a full orchestra (Wright, 7 4) brought
about one of the most popular and recognized concerto pieces, Vivaldi s Violin Concerto in E Major
(the Spring). As one of

My Favorite Reading
Literacy has always been an important part of my life. Unfortunately, I actually do not recall the
moment when I realized that I could read by myself. I also do not remember reading or writing in my
early years (kindergarten and first grade) or what my teachers taught me about literacy during that
time. However, that doesn t mean that literacy wasn t important to me. I have always loved reading.
My favorite moments from elementary school were when my favorite teachers would read to me and
my classmates. I loved when my second grade teacher, Ms. Walker, and my fourth grade teacher, Mrs.
Seymour, would read. I loved hearing them read because of how animated and excited they would be
when they read to me and my class. Seeing them get excited to read made me feel the same way. I feel
like their actions and feelings definitely encouraged me to feel excited to read books. In elementary
school, I enjoyed reading a variety of books. In the beginning I loved reading picture books of course.
I loved picture books because of the vibrant images that the pages had. I also loved them because
usually, someone else was reading the books for me. One of my favorite memories is my mom reading
me a picture book that was in Spanish at home. She made the book so much fun and I realized that we
both had something in common. That we both liked to read. When I realized this, it made me feel like
me and my mom had a special connection that my siblings didn t have with her. This encouraged me
to read more books and eventually ask my mom to take me to the library in our free time. She would
take me once a week so I could choose a couple of books for us to read. As I got older, I moved on to
chapter books and realized that I really loved them. I remember that in second grade I would always
read scary stories, Goosebumps, the Junie B. Jones books, and the Magic Tree House books. While
reading these types of books, I discovered that I really loved reading books. I figured out that I loved
reading books so much because in a way, they created another world in my mind. While reading
books, I would make images in my head of what I was reading and that made reading so much more
fun. In middle school and high school, I still really enjoyed

In the spring of 2013, the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization
Act , or S.744, was introduced by a bipartisan group of eight Senators. In this bill, five key reforms are
proposed. Firstly, that of Border Security: This clause proposes an increase of spending by a whopping
$40 billion, and an addition of fencing and 20,000 new Border Patrol agents to hopefully achieve a
90% apprehension rate of illegal immigrants in the border within the next five years. Secondly,
Legalization: This clause aims to facilitate the immigration process. Thirdly, Legal Immigration: This
clause aims to shift visa priorities from family based immigration to employment based immigration
in hopes of reducing backlogs. Fourthly, Interior ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
immigration policies as the legalization of undocumented immigrants could strengthen the economy.
Taking into consideration the New Economics of Labor Migration Theory, this bill provides protection
of human rights (such as that from domestic violence) that might compel women and children to want
to legally migrate into the United States. Once they are legalized, they will be part of the taxpaying,
American population. Therefore a plausible conclusion that can be derived from this theory and the
Neo Classical Theory, I opine that if this bill is passed, it will increase the number of legal Mexican
immigrants in the US. Subsequently, I view the issue of undocumented immigrants as one that is
impossible to fully solve . However, there are measures that can be taken to lessen the number of
illegal immigrants to the smallest number possible. The legalization of undocumented immigrants is
important because it not only betters the economy, but also betters working conditions for the migrants
and opens a bigger possibility for family reunification. Additionally, immigrants contribute to the
economy through their immigration application fees, additional tax payments, lower costs of goods
and services, and many more. Therefore, I vouch for this bill, so long as it enhances the legalization of
undocumented

all of the characters such as; Fermina Daza and Dr. Urbino, Florentino and all of his many affairs with
different women, Dr. Urbino and his affair with Barbara Lynch, and most importantly the most
powerful love throughout the book is the love between Florentino Ariza and Fermina Daza.

He even wrote his own book titled, Lover s Companion. He became a ghost writer of love letters. In
the book it says, He had so much love left over inside that he did not know what to do with it, and he
offered it to unlettered lovers free of charge, writing their love missives for them in the Arcade of
Scribes (Garcia Marquez 171). He eventually became swamped with letters where he wrote only about
Fermina Daza without his clients ever knowing his sole purpose to writing the letters and having so
much emotion behind it.
The older Florentino gets the more he starts to realize that he is wasting his life. In the book it says,
But that night he saw for the first time in a conscious way how Fermina Daza s life was passing and
how his was passing, while he did nothing more than wait (Garcia Marquez 199). This is the first time
in the novel that he realizes he is wasting his time. Florentino s life revolved around Fermina and due
to his love for her whenever he was nostalgic his memories goes to her, but whenever she is nostalgic
her memories do not go to him.
Once Dr. Urbino dies Fermina is heartbroken but eventually realizes that her most of her life was
defined by being his wife and after he is dead she starts to gain some independence. In her final years
she will learn to be her own person and become independent. In the book she portrays this when it

Analysis Of Raphael s The Holy Trinity

Research Paper Raphael
Stanza Della Segnatura: A Challenge to Raphael
Considered to be in the holy trinity of Renaissance painters along with Leonardo and Michelangelo,
Raphael was known to be more versatile than Michelangelo and more prolific than the older
contemporary Leonardo. Only living until the young age of 37, he definitely made his mark during the
Renaissance era with his many drawings, paintings, and pieces of architecture. But the question to
discuss is, what made his commissioned work with Pope Julius II more notable and memorable than
any other pieces he has created? This paper will cover his biography, his drawing style with a brief
overview of his surviving drawings, and one of his most notable commissions, the so called Stanza
Della Segnatura.
Biography
Born in 1483 in Urbino, Raphael, or Raphael Sanzio, was the son of Giovanni Santi, who was a court
painter. Raphael s father gave him first instruction in painting and introduced Raphael to humanistic
philosophy before his death in 1494. As a child, Raphael s brief time with his father helped him gain a
great deal of knowledge about the arts, literature, and social skills to help Raphael move among the
more elite of society and gain art commissions to boost his career as an artist. After his father s death
(1494), Raphael began to run his father s workshop. After some time, he exceeded his father in talent
and began to receive numerous commissions, for

Why I Am A Father
Bang! I quickly sprang from my bed and bolted to the bottom of our staircase where my mom laid
after collapsing. Worried and confused I rushed to wake up my dad who eventually guided her up the
stairs and found out what happened. My mom had fainted at the top of our staircase after a
bradycardic episode. She was later taken to the hospital to have a loop recorder implanted to monitor
her heart. Eventually, it was identified that she needed a pacemaker at the age of 47.
From as early as I can remember, I have always had a passion for learning and education. Having a
father who was once high school chemistry teacher and a mother who was a nurse made for a fertile
upbringing in the sciences. Our dinner discussions ranged from hydrogen bonding and valence
electron shell repulsion theory to the changing of colostomy bags and other patient bodily functions,
the latter of which I sometimes grimaced at when pudding was planned later for dessert. Looking
back, I was very blessed to have a family that instilled many immensely important qualities into me as
a child.
Although medicine has always been close to me wanting to become a physician was not something I
simply decided overnight. After tagging along with my mom to see her cardiologist a couple of times I
slowly began to put together my love of science with a profession in which I could help people like
my mother. This eventually led to me actively pursuing medicine as a career. Before I started
shadowing Dr. Siddiqui I thought

  • 2. A Study On Prevention And Treatment Of A Platelet... Diagnosing prothrombotic diseases early and preventing its complications are significantly essential. Therefore, this study sought to investigate whether MPV contain diagnostic value that can prompt it to be utilized as a platelet activation marker and as marker of evidence of thrombotic risk. Platelet activation is widely acknowledged to be an indicator of likely prothrombotic diseases. Platelet size, measured as MPV, has been shown to be an indicator of platelet function and is positively linked to platelet activity indicators (Tsiara et al., 2003). The correlation between platelet size and function can be attributed to the larger platelets that activated megakaryocyte produce in the bone marrow likely to be more reactive and easier to aggregate than the normal platelets. Such is because the larger platelets secret more β thromboglobulin and serotonin, have denser granules, generate more thromboxane in comparison to the smaller platelets while also showing more activity than the smaller platelets (Dastjerdi et al., 2006). Therefore, the hyperactive large platelets contribute considerably in speeding the formation and spread of intracoronary thrombus. This causes acute thrombotic events to occur (Smith et al., 1999). Increased MPV levels are exhibited to constitute an independent predictor for recurrent MI, ischemic vascular events or even death caused by coronary artery disease (Wang et al., 2011; Chu et al., 2010; Huczek et al., 2005). The Secret Life Of Bees Theme Essay In the book called The Secret Life of Bee s written by Sue Monk Kidd there are characters such as Lily, Rosaline, T.Ray, Deborah, August, May, Zach, etc. From the list of characters stated one that I admire the most and seem to have a lot in common in is Zach. I admire him due to his determination, his want to be a lawyer, and especially due to the fact that he plays football. Well Zachery Taylor (His full name) is as determined as they come. Living in a world full of Racist white men with white privilege breathing down his neck. Zach will just keep on churning through everything. Small examples of his determination are Law schools being explicit to whites only. Stating his only way of being educated is unavailable. Some ways he tries to overcome this is communicating with Clayton Forrest (Lawyer). He ends up learning off Clayton to learn tips and tricks. He uses it as an alternative to school. Falling in love with Lily also shows another hump in his life that he overcomes with determination. Knowing it s a white man s world and being caught with Lily will be a serious crime due to the time. So for that he keeps it lowkey. Everything seems to go good for Zach until he is ... In the first of the two scenes we witness the introduction of Cole and Dr Crowe in what appears to be a pre arranged visit. A vital part of convincing the audience of his existence is in creating the illusion of interaction between himself and others and in the opening of the scene, the body language of Cole s mother and Dr Crowe is used to suggest this. In medium shot, (often used to provide a ?blank sheet? for emotions), we see the two characters in profile. While Dr Crowe is calm and smiling slightly, Cole s mother holds her body angled away from him and has a tight, cold expression, giving a definite impression of tension. From this it appears that a conversation and more probably a disagreement has taken place between them, as a ghost he would be unable to do this, the audience would have no reason to suspect him at this point. The tension also allows us to presume that she looks away from him in order to avoid his gaze, rather than as a result of his invisibility. However, both here and when Cole enters the room medium close up shots and shots over the shoulder provide us with a view Dr Crowe s line of sight and of course it is only natural to assume that if his gaze was ... • 6. Political Movements In The Stonewall Riots, And The Rights... Summary Political movements have changed and developed over time. Many have survived the decades, and are just as alive now as they were fifty years ago. The rights of women and people of color sparked movements dating back to the 1960s and earlier, and both are back in the spotlight today. Environmental activism became an important issue in the 1970s, and is still a concern today, although to a lesser extent. Although the gay rights discussion at the national level began following the Stonewall Riots in 1969, and Pride Parades began popping up nationwide shortly thereafter, LGBT individuals had no legal rights or protections before the increased activism of this decade (Dreier, 2015). Peace movements are also found in many different time periods, reflecting an ever prevalent anti war sentiment that becomes visible whenever our country engages in foreign conflict. Due to the extended nature of political movements, political songs tend to have relevance extending far beyond their release date. While Sam Cooke s anti segregation rhetoric is outdated, the references to institutional racism are not, and the hope that changes will be made to bring an end to racial disparity is perennial. A change may have come, but much more change is still needed. Leslie Gore s You Don t Own Me could just as easily be an anthem for women today as it was in 1963. Intense racism is the belief that all members of a group are inferior (M. Hu, personal communications, November 18th, 2015). Racism can also be symbolic, which entails the belief that the out group interferes with the culture. This is a worry that some Americans have because they irrationally fear that Muslims are trying to change the country. • 11. Analysis of Women Role´s in Louisa May Alcott´s Little Women Throughout most of the 19th century, feminine behavior was expected from every respectable woman. However Lousia May Alcott s novel Little Women displays interesting qualities from her characters that represent aberrance and independence; Alcott challenged conventional beliefs about how women should behave in the 1800s. Similar to Alcott herself, the main character was determined to become a writer despite the fact that popular portrayals of working women during the era often pictured them as socially deviant and was considered unfit to become a motherly figure (Alcott, Louisa May). She wrote Little Women as a moral paper for children, allowing any young reader to relate to at least one of the March Girls: Meg, Jo, Beth, or Amy ( In the Garret ). In her innovative novel Little Women, Alcott expresses her controversial views concerning traditional roles of women through the temperamental protagonist, Jo, who represents independence and morality for girls in the late 1800s. Traditional roles of women in America during the 1860s were significantly different than they are today. Around the Civil War era, most women were expected to be homemakers above anything else. They spent much of their days cooking, sewing, or cleaning, and if they failed to create a cheerful, cozy home environment, they were looked down upon because it was considered unacceptable according to society s standards. This work is considered, in itself, an outline of the overall presentation of the great Christological concerns. The author, who seems to be a well acquainted with the exhibition of the Christological themes from classical theology, has devoted many hours to the study of modern philosophy. To all of this, it must be added that Kasper suggests that he approaches the life and work of the Redeemer with the desire to transmit the received tradition I a living way, that is, in conjunction and confrontation with the comments and questions of a particular time. In this way, Kasper seems to understand his work as a contemporary transmission of an inheritance from the past and of responsible commentary on tradition. This transmission and responsible commentary on tradition must be understood in the context of a double judgement made by Kasper around Christianity and the philosophical thought. Kasper suggests that Christianity is in a transitional state. In terms of philosophical thought, the author claims that the modern principle of subjective, the process in which man posits himself as the starting point and measure for understanding reality as a whole, is certainly in relation to the history of Christianity. Relationship Between Orthodontic And Periodontics The term synergy refers to two or more agents acting together to create an effect greater than that predicted by knowing only the separate effects of the individual agents. A desire to improve dentofacial appearance has been found to be the primary motivating factor for seeking treatment in adults. Plaque is a major etiologic factor in the development of periodontal disease. Results from past animal studies done in dentitions with reduced periodontium showed that in the absence of plaque, orthodontic forces and tooth movements do not induce gingivitis. Henrik Ibsen s A Doll s House Nasrin Pretty Ms. DeMarchi English IV AP UCONN ECE Period 2 October 7, 2015 Ibsen s Perspective on Women The Norwegian playwright and dramatist, Henrik Ibsen, wrote several plays on social drama where he opposed the accepted traditions of the nineteenth century. Some of his most famous plays on society versus women were A Doll s House, Hedda Gabler, and Pillars of Society. Ibsen supported women and feminism, contrary to societal norms by creating strong women in the forms of Nora Helmer, Hedda Tesman, and Lona Hessel from his plays. In A Doll s House, Ibsen introduces the main character, Nora Helmer, as an independent woman in order to present his view on society s belief of how women should be housewives and should focus on their family rather than working. According to Michael Meyer, the character of Nora is a reaction to the denial of the hoary problem of women s rights (Templeton). Nora s character continuously attempts to be independent, rather than being dependent on her husband. She wants to be taken seriously, rather than being a doll in a doll s house, at the disposal of her husband. For example, Nora says to her husband, Torvald, If I m ever to reach any understanding of myself... I must learn to stand alone. That s why I can t stay here with you any longer (Ibsen, A Doll s House 81). Moving from guidance to counseling, means different job duties and educational obstacles. Not only do the job responsibilities include career development, social/emotional development, and academic achievement; included in this change is focus on student s mental health. With the advancement of this career to the mental health field, comes with educating stakeholders on the difference. One way to do this is by producing evidence that counseling techniques work in a language that most stakeholders understand: academics. The money a public school receives correlates largely with achievement. If the students do well academically, the school becomes more attractive. Salaries are better; therefore, more qualified teachers apply and communities become more enticing to tax paying citizens. Just the opposite, schools that perform poorly academically have higher poverty level, lower teacher experience, and less money paid per student by the state in which it resides. All of this ... • 23. Why Do We Need The Electoral College I believe that we don t need the Electoral College for multiple reasons. One of the reasons have to do with technology and another reason has to do with power. There are more reasons as well. While I believe that we don t need the Electoral College, if we go with the popular vote then we could run into issues like the candidates won t actually get more than half of America s vote. The first reason that I think that we should go with the popular vote is that while the people back then needed the Electoral College, we don t anymore. Since we have modern technology, we can be informed by searching the candidates views. Another evidence that we are informed is that there has only been five times where the popular vote would have given a different president than what the Electoral college would have picked. That means that the citizens of America are about as informed as the people in the Electoral college. The second reason that we should have the people vote instead of the Electoral college is that the people who aren t part of the Electoral College don t have a say in who our president will be. The only people who actually have a say is the people involved in the electoral college and that is only 538 people. There are more than 300 million people who should actually get to choose. The act of even labeling this group of people or other groups is discouraged and even against the NASW s The Code of Ethics (2008). • 31. Classroom Management Reflection Classroom management is an essential skill that is required of all teachers who wish to be effective teachers. To have good classroom management, teachers need three skills: self efficacy, classroom experience, and a passion for teaching. Two of these concepts go hand in hand. If a teacher is passionate about their profession, they will have a strong sense of self efficacy. Wolff, Jarodzka, and Boshuizen (2017) state that learning to manage a classroom and teach effectively is complicated, and the majority of the knowledge and skill development required for effective teaching takes place within the classroom itself (p. 295). This means that not all teachers start at the same level. There will always be room for improvement, and teachers will continue to grow and get better as time goes on. There are many different factors that play into good classroom management, but by far the main three needed are self efficacy, classroom experience and passion. When the course first began, I assumed that the concept of classroom management would be fairly straightforward. To the untrained eye, individuals are either good or bad teachers. If a classroom is filled with chaos, then that instructor is a bad teacher. By this logic, an individual who handles a room full of students effortlessly is a good teacher. However, it is only now as we near the end of the course that I realize that things are not that simple. All teachers, whether good or bad, are capable of having good ... The music from these famous composers are some of the world s most recognizable and beautiful classics of all time. Music of these eras are still being used in many of today s movies and commercials. Musical characteristics developed from these eras are still used and heard presently in popular music. The art of the Baroque period was very colorful and dramatic, which translated into the music created at the time. The idea of being very expressive and embellishing in detail would lead to the development of opera. Opera is a dramatic play that is acted out through music. In opera, a soloist must be able to act and sing out the mood of the text or libretto. This expressive singing accompanied by a bass line or basso continuo is called monody. This idea of a new texture would feature the distinction between the high voice that carries one melody and the low voice or bass. The accompanying bass line was played by harpsichord with the addition of a bassoon or cello (Wright 6 3a,6 3b). Claudio Monteverdi, who is considered an originator of opera who composed the earliest example of the genre called Orfeo. Based on ancient Greek mythology, which was the initial intention of opera, Orfeo is a drama about the mythical Greek god Orpheus. To rescue his bride Euridice, he goes down to Hades. In the prologue of Orfeo which is Del mio Permesso amato , the Greek muse La Música sets the stage for the drama. At first hearing La Música sing, her melodic voice captures my ears and attention, like letting me know to listen up . As was Monteverdi s intention, I can hear how the harmony is the same while the melody changes throughout. The melismatic singing that accentuates certain words emphasize the importance of setting the mood of the opera (Wright, 6 3c). A great interest in hearing only instrumental music tell the story without text arise. • 44. Analysis Of Raphael s The Holy Trinity Keadra Jeter ART 4396 Dr. M. Vaccaro Research Paper Raphael Stanza Della Segnatura: A Challenge to Raphael Considered to be in the holy trinity of Renaissance painters along with Leonardo and Michelangelo, Raphael was known to be more versatile than Michelangelo and more prolific than the older contemporary Leonardo. Only living until the young age of 37, he definitely made his mark during the Renaissance era with his many drawings, paintings, and pieces of architecture. But the question to discuss is, what made his commissioned work with Pope Julius II more notable and memorable than any other pieces he has created? This paper will cover his biography, his drawing style with a brief overview of his surviving drawings, and one of his most notable commissions, the so called Stanza Della Segnatura. As a child, Raphael s brief time with his father helped him gain a great deal of knowledge about the arts, literature, and social skills to help Raphael move among the more elite of society and gain art commissions to boost his career as an artist. Worried and confused I rushed to wake up my dad who eventually guided her up the stairs and found out what happened. My mom had fainted at the top of our staircase after a bradycardic episode. She was later taken to the hospital to have a loop recorder implanted to monitor her heart. Eventually, it was identified that she needed a pacemaker at the age of 47. From as early as I can remember, I have always had a passion for learning and education. Having a father who was once high school chemistry teacher and a mother who was a nurse made for a fertile upbringing in the sciences. Our dinner discussions ranged from hydrogen bonding and valence electron shell repulsion theory to the changing of colostomy bags and other patient bodily functions, the latter of which I sometimes grimaced at when pudding was planned later for dessert. Looking back, I was very blessed to have a family that instilled many immensely important qualities into me as a child. Although medicine has always been close to me wanting to become a physician was not something I simply decided overnight. After tagging along with my mom to see her cardiologist a couple of times I slowly began to put together my love of science with a profession in which I could help people like my mother. This eventually led to me actively pursuing medicine as a career. Before I started shadowing Dr. Siddiqui I thought ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
