Citizen Kane Meaning Essay
The use of lighting in this film was very pretentious and was used to add good aspects to Citizen
Kane. The lighting changed based off what the mood corresponded for example, some scenes had
a copacetic or pleasant mood. In the beginning, the scene was a very formidable scene. The lighting
was dark which portrayed fear towards the audience. The mood was implying fear and almost an
alarming mood for the viewers the lighting helped entail this by giving dark, hair raising lighting.
The type of lighting they used in this particular scene was not frontal lighting, but actually the exact
opposite they used backlighting. Not just the opening scene included lighting that imposed horror
to the audience, there were other scenes that used a type of lighting... Show more content on

The lighting also helped the audience recognize there was a storm occurring which can also help
portray fear. Another scene that had great lighting that impacted the story was the party scene .
This scene was the scene where people sat around the table, toasting and one man stood up
shouting should we take Spain to war? . I noticed that the lighting in the beginning of the scene
was darker but as soon as the band hit the first few beats, the lighting grew much brighter, showing
the mood of this particular scene was upbeat and happy. This scene was also much brighter (and
mood) than the opening scene where the lighting and mood were dark. Overall, the lighting in this
film was very well done whether it showed the dark and fearful mood or to portray a storm or
something along the lines of that. The lighting also did change throughout the film primarily to
correspond the mood if it was supposed to cause fear in viewers, the lighting was darker and made
the characters look more sinister like in the scene where Kane held the snow globe while
murmuring rose bud...under lighting came into

Industrial relations ideologies
Introduction A frame of reference is not a philosophical concept. It refers to one s worldview
and the evaluation or judgement of one s observations. One s frame of reference coincides with
one s behaviour and the consequences thereof. Therefore, a frame of reference is fixed but one
needs to be sensitive and accept individual differences in frames of reference. This paper aims to
address the frame of reference of Pick n Pay s chairman and joint managing director, Mr Raymond
Ackerman. The arguments presented in this paper are my own with a theoretical basis from the
work of Bluen (1987). My interpretation of Mr Ackerman s frame of reference will be presented in
relation to the organisation, conflict, collective bargaining and trade... Show more content on

This reiterates the notion of balance of power. Collective bargaining The ability for positions to
reach a consensus is reached through collective bargaining. Bluen (1987) infers that the pluralist
frame of reference does not seek to remove conflict but to manage it. Mr Ackerman
acknowledged the existence of conflict and tried to manage it by sending his negotiating team to
resolve the conflict and end the strike. Mr Ackerman has a pluralist view because he believes the
issue should have been resolved during negotiations. He even went as far as awarding greater
bargaining flexibility to the negotiating team. The mere fact that Mr Ackerman was so determined
to resolve the conflict though means of collective bargaining should eliminate the likelihood of a
unitary frame of reference. Collective bargaining, an equitable balance of power, and essentially
the aim to compromise confirm that Mr Ackerman holds a pluralist view on industrial relations. Mr
Ackerman fought to reach a consensus for personal and economic reasons. The breakthrough to
reach a consensus was achieved after he delivered his speech. He appealed to the opposing union
members by focusing on personal matters. This led to the agreement of a negotiation. Mr Ackerman
considered going up on his agreement and the union considered going down on theirs. No
suppression or unilateral decision making occurred. In

Situtational Judgement Tests
Introduction Situational judgment tests (SJTs) is one of the common methods which always
be used in personnel selection recently. Specifically, situational judgment tests (SJTs) typically
consist of scenarios of hypothetical work situations in which a problem has arisen.
Accompanying each scenario are multiple possible ways to respond to the hypothetical
situation. The test taker is then asked to judge the possible courses of action (L. A. L. de Meijer
et al., 2010, p.229). In terms of the development of SJTs, the scenarios and situations are always
gathered by the subject matter experts from specific job related critical incidents; and then
subject matter experts would gather information in order to create the possible responses;
finally, subject matter experts would develop the scoring keys for the SJTs (Crook et al., 2011).
SJT items may be presented in different formats, such as paper pencil based, verbal, video
based, or computer based formats (e.g., Clevenger, Pereira, Wiechmann, Schmitt, Schmidt
Harvey, 2001; Motowidlo et al., 1990), and participants of the SJTs are usually required to
choose the most appropriate option among the several options for each situation or scenario
(Christian, Edwards, Bradley, 2010). The most common formats are paper pencil based and video
based SJTs. We first have the paper pencil based SJTs, and then, Thorndike (1949) mentioned the
video based SJTs would be closer to real life situations than the paper pencil based formation of

WHY GEOGRAPHY MATTERS
What evidence is there for the geographical illiteracy of Americans? How did professional
educators contribute to the problem through social studies?
Chapter 1: Geography, in general, is studying where and why locations are placed on a map. To
answer these questions, you must have not only memory but skill as well. In unison, you must use
geophagic themes, concept and skill, that not many people have or are willing to have. Location,
Place, Relationship within Places, Movement, and Regions are the five guidelines for geographic
education, a branch of social studies. These were put into place by professional educator to make

Chapter 5: Rapid population growth and urbanization are the root of overpopulation which leads to
lack in resources and disease. Urbanization is when too much of a population grows in an urban
/city environment causing too many people in sharing in one small area. Thus, violence, crime and
disorder accor.
Why did Mao Zedong launch the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution in 1966? What did it do?
What were its results?
Chapter 7:
Mao Zedong, a communist, launched the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution so he could
reinforce his power over the Chinese people at the time. He did not want the Soviet Union to gain
too much power. Mao then started the Red Guard, a radical group set on attacking intellectuals and
spreading the idea of socialism. This eventually caused the Chinese government to collapse. It took
many years for the Chinese people to repair the social systems and correct teachings.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt s Four Freedoms
Franklin Delano Roosevelt s Four Freedoms speech, given on January 6, 1941, provided
rationale behind his idea that the United States needed to abandon isolationist policies. This
speech provided the basis for the civil liberties that different groups of people would fight for
during the next seventy years as well as context for America s involvement in foreign affairs
regarding democracy. The Four Freedoms FDR listed were as follows: freedom of speech,
freedom of religion, freedom from want, and freedom from fear. In Alan Brinkley s biography of
FDR, he discussed how FDR expanded the role of the government and became a strong leader and
protector of the welfare of American People, creating programs to expand and stimulate the
economy, unite... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Due to these threats, the United States took severe measures to spread democratic ideals to other
countries, however in the attempt to prevent a WWIII, democratic practices often produced
antidemocratic outcomes according to Suri. Some of these antidemocratic strategies included
containment and the Truman Doctrine, which aimed to prevent the spread of communism to
Eastern Europe and Asia. As president, Ronald Reagan promised to cut the budget, reduce taxes,
trim the bureaucracy, revive America, and subdue the Soviets, ultimately leading to the collapse of
the Soviet Union. Although the Civil Rights Movement arose in the sixties, nuclear development
continued and by 1970 there were more than 25,000 nuclear weapons in the world (Borstelmann
213). American s have struggled to obtain a secure freedom from fear, for fear is an inevitable part
of being American. Whether it the fear is domestic or internationally related, American s face fears
ranging from not obtaining their basic civil rights to what seems to be the constant threat of
terrorist attacks. The United States interest in spreading democracy to other nations and aiding in
foreign affairs is ultimately for the protection of the freedoms of the countries

Modeling Travel Demand For A Bus Transport System
MODELING TRAVEL DEMAND IN BANGLORE CITY
INTRODUCTION:
Now a days due to increase in traffic, decrease in open areas and low allocation of funds,
transportation planners are looking for other effective ways to overcome these problems.
Introduction of low cost fuel efficient cars and easy availability of car loans with interest free
monthly payments have encouraged people to buy private vehicles which has increased congestion.
The need for an efficient, accessible and feasible public transport system is needed more than ever.
To overcome the above mentioned problems, most of the metropolitan cities in India are trying to
streamline their transportation system so as to introduce a Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) as
an alternative to bus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The city of Bangalore is the third most populous and ranked fifth for its urban assemblage in
India. Located in the Deccan plateau in the southern part of India, it has an urban population of
about 8.52 million. According to World Bank report (2002), motor vehicle ownership has been
increasing 10% annually in cities with a population of 1 million or more. This has led to air, noise
and environmental pollution; increased congestion; reduced use of public transport system and
consequently increase in use of private vehicles.
From 1991 to 2014, private vehicle ownership has increased in Bangalore city and the limping
public transport system has been struggling to keep pace with the growing travel demand. To
overcome this, the city has to develop a new mass rapid transit system and expand its existing bus
services.
It has been also observed that policies pertaining to land use and urban planning has caused major
urban sprawl which in turn has led to inadequate public transport (Pucher et al, 2005).
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION
Due to increase in economic growth, better living conditions and ease of loans, it is easier for
people now a days to acquire new vehicles. Since Bangalore as an IT hub has great risk of
congestion due to rapid urbanization and under developed infrastructure. So, a travel

McKenna and the Photon Chariots
McKenna awoke from a dream of butterfly s fluttering over roads of infinite color. Today was
special, and her glowing face showed it; today she was going to see Lux. McKenna had never
visited Lux but knew it was the place where all letters were sent to and from the people of Orbis.
This was perfect; McKenna had a very special letter to send. McKenna heard her mother call for
her, so she quickly gathered her travel bag, ensuring her letter was safely inside, and ran outside to
find her father, mother, brother, and sister were already packed, and waiting for her to arrive. She
quickly climbed into their family carriage, and her brother Conner asked, What took you so long?

mother talked in the front of the carriage. During a pause in their game, McKenna called to the
front of the carriage. Daddy, you go to Lux all the time. What are you doing there today that we
could come as well? Her dad replied, I have a business meetings with clients at Lux and I thought
it would be nice to take the whole family along for the trip. Plus, while I m in meetings, I have
arranged a special tour of Lux for all of you. McKenna, Conner and their little sister Kellan all

a smile on his face and said, Oh, this one is the best tour of all. I know you guys have always
tried to see an IB, but can never seem to catch them picking up your letters . The children nodded
in agreement. Have you ever wondered why, or how they move so fast? Well, not to give too
much of your tour away, but it s because the IBs ride on very special carriages, and these carriages
move faster than your eyes can see. Faster than we can see? pondered McKenna. What could
possibly move that quickly?

Every Good Father Is A Successful Father
Robert Duvall, an American actor and filmmaker once wisely stated, Not every successful man is
a good father. But every good father is a successful man. This quote reveals just how fulfilling and
important a true father s job can be. A father has many responsibilities, yet his family should
become a priority in his life every day. No matter what happens around them, a father must bring his
familytogether, showing them Christ s love. The role of a father encompasses many different
duties. Yet a man begins learning fundamental qualities early on in life that will help him raise a
family later on. In order to become an excellent father, a man must first master the skills of leading,
providing, and protecting.
An essential skill, mastering leadership allows for a man to gain the respect of his family while
managing his household. When a father leads, he earns the respect of his wife and children,
which in turn allows him to oversee the affairs of the family. For example, a father makes a habit
of reading scripture to his family, and praying for others in need. Mentoring his wife and children
through this activity, this man shows how a father should guide all the members of his family,
helping them grow spiritually. Or, a family decides to go to dinner, but no one can agree on where
to dine. Who ultimately makes this simple decision? The father must take control of the situation
and select a place to eat, avoiding hours of useless bickering about who should make the choice.

New York City developed and (attractiveness) that attracted many people to what it provides.
Thousands of people wanted to arrive into the Big Apple and several businessmen recognized that
demand and tapped into it accordingly. A number of railroads were established and built with some
type of a service to New York City. However, only one railroad, the New York Central Railroad,
was able to have its trains actually enter in New York City via Grand Central Terminal. Unlike the

While these (rail agencies) have not expanded their services into Penn Station as much as New
Jersey Transit has, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority has studies being worked on to
provide such availabilities with regards to its Metro North Railroad. Two of the aforementioned
railroad s lines, the New Haven and Hudson Line are being looked upon as for having the potential
to arrive in Penn Station rather than terminating into Grand Central Terminal through already
existing trackage. The New Haven Line can utilize the same tracks that Amtrak trains use to run
from Penn Station to (New Rochelle), where it connects to Metro North s New Haven Line; the
latter line can run along Amtrak s Hell Gate Line with the possiblity of adding new train station
along the way within the vicinities of Co op City, Parkchester, and Hunts Point before reaching
34th street. The Hudson Line can run along Amtrak s Empire Connection line that the agency uses
to allow its Empire Service trains to transfer from Metro North s Hudson Line into Penn Station.
Along the line, new rail stations may be implemented within the vicinities of West 125th and West
62nd Streets in Manhattan s West Side. While an impressive feat, any developments along these
lines will have to be (slowed down) until the East Side Access is completed, allowing LIRR trains
to terminate at Grand Central Terminal instead of Penn Station; rail traffic in the station is high
enough as it is to allow for more trains from a fourth agency to have trains run into and terminate at.

energy which is more reliable (Rinkesh,2009). They are also safe with easy transportation on large

The Fountain House And New York
The first Clubhouse was Fountain House and started in New York in 1948 with the idea that
people with mental illness can effectively participate in their own recovery (The Fountain House,
n.d.). Former patients of Rockland State Hospital, a psychiatric hospital in New York, began a self
help group and then formed WAWA (We Are Not Alone) (The Fountain House, n.d.). The first
official meeting of We Are Not Alone was held at the Third Street YMCA in Manhattan. It started
out as a support system for people with mental illness, but did not include treatment programs or
therapy. With assistance from supporters, they bought a building on West 47th street in New York
City. The fountain in the garden encouraged the name Fountain House (The Fountain House, n.d.).
This Clubhouse model has been replicated all over the world because it conveys the idea of
belonging, involvement, and connection (Clubhouse International, n.d.). The original model
became a local community center for people over the age of eighteen with mental illness. Its goal
was and still is for people with mental illness to reach their full potential (The Fountain House,
n.d.). Membership is open to anyone who has a history of mental illness. Being a member of
Fountain House helps people feel like they belong and are always welcomed. Also, Members have a
stake in the organization and they work together to attain a shared goal (Clubhouse International,

Strengths And Weaknesses Of A Personal Report
Having a good understanding of your professional strengths and weaknesses is imperative to having
a successful career. It is also important to know what types of positions and projects would allow
you to utilize those strengths to benefit your career. Taking the GLEAM.org Network Assessment
and Motivational Style Assessment were very helpful in identifying some of those strengths and
weakness in my professional environment. The Networkassessment was especially interesting
because it was such a unique type of assessment. Both the size and density of my network was
defined as medium, which was a little bit surprising to me. Since over half of my network
contacts listed are coworkers, I was expecting the density and size to be small. While the size
and density of my network were average, my report indicates that I have weaker ties than the
average respondent. My Personal Network report identifies a benefit of this being that I could
potentially have access to a much broader range of information. The report also identifies the
disadvantage of this being that those weaker relationships would be unable to provide a higher
level of support if needed. The insight that this report provided me will be very helpful when
thinking about completion of the Master of Accounting (MAcc) program and my career over the
next five years. Identifying and fostering a healthy network (of both MAcc students and accounting
professionals) is crucial during a program as rigorous as the MAcc program.

Determining G on an Incline Essay
Determining g on an Incline
Lab #1
Theory: During the early part of the seventeenth century, Galileo experimentally examined the
concept of acceleration. One of his goals was to measure the acceleration due to gravity, or the
acceleration of freely falling objects. Unfortunately, his timing devices were not precise enough to
measure the free fall time directly. He decided to dilute gravity by using fluids, inclined planes, and
pendulums.
Galileo s idea of diluting gravity using inclined planes worked like this: the acceleration of a rolling
cart on an inclined plane is small, therefore is easy to measure; when the angle of the incline gets
bigger, the acceleration will get bigger; by measuring the dependence of the acceleration on ... Show

Using Vernier, we clicked collect while releasing the cart after motion detector starts to click.
This was done moving the hand quickly out the path. Using logger pro, indicated which portion
was to be used by dragging across the graph to indicate the starting and ending times. Then the
linear button was clicked to perform the linear regression of the selected data. The Linear Button
was used to determine the slope of the velocity vs. time graph, only using the portion of the data
for times when the cart was freely rolling. We found the acceleration of the cart from the fitted
line. Record the value in the data table. These steps where repeated 5 mores times. Measured the
length of the incline, x which is the distance between the two points of the ramp. Measure the
height, h, the height of the book(s). The last two measurements was used determine the angle of
the incline. Raise the incline by placing a second book under the end. Adjust the book so that
distance, x, is the same as the previous reading. Repeated these steps with 3, 4 and 5 books.
ANALYSIS DATA
The greater the incline and greater the height, the greater the acceleration of the cart. This
experiment measured the acceleration of a cart moving down a sloped track in order to find a
relation between the acceleration of an object and the sine of the angle at which it is moving. There
were three separate experimental stages, with the variable being the angle at which the

The Security Of The Homeland Security Enterprise Essay
The homeland security enterprise has progressed much in the past few decades, especially after the
attack on September 11th. It has been necessary for the DHS to grow and adapt as new and more
dangerous threats became known. However, as more threats are prevented successfully, newer and
sometimes tougher challenges for the DHS arise. In an effort to pinpoint the most important things
affecting the nation, strategic plans are used, sometimes in the form of multi missions plans, in
order to separate different jobs to focus on. Since it is the duty of homeland securityto keep the
American people safe, but also feel safe, it is important that the public remains confident in the
DHS. It may be questioned, but the DHS has the capability to identify and handle future
challenges that may arise. But, it cannot be at the expense of the American public s civil
liberties. It may be difficult to walk that fine line, but it is imperative that the DHS does in order
to keep the country safe. The ability to identify future challenges is paramount for the DHS. In
order to do this, adequate collection and analysis of intelligence, both foreign and domestic, is
necessary. Once this intelligence is gathered, a strategic plan can begin to be developed in order to
address new challenges and threats facing the country. The fact that the country, and world, is
constantly in flux introduces the need for the plan to be variable. Homeland security has a strategic
plan for the fiscal years 2014

Thomas Descartes s Dream Argument And The Dream...
In the First Meditation Descartes famously presented his dream argument or dream paradox in
which he questions how we can distinguish between dreams and waking life. In this essay, I will
explore various responses to the argument such as Hobbes and Locke and how I think Descartes
would dismiss these arguments. I will finally present my own criticism alongside the work of
Austin, Simpson and Ryle in order to illustrate the inconsistency of Descartes claims. In order to
deconstruct the dreamparadox I will appeal to one of the three common methods of solving
paradoxes; denying a premise, particularly the first premise as this results in the collapse of the
remaining conditional premises. I will ultimately show that the dream argumentis a paradox and
how this causes the dream argument to fail.
Descartes aim throughout the first segment of his Meditations to overthrow existing foundations of
knowledge and encourages readers to remove prior knowledge and prejudices in order to fully
accept the new foundations which he aims to establish. The method of doubt is used to find beliefs
that can serve as a new foundation for knowledge. Only beliefs that are certain, immune from doubt,
can perform this function. Descartes argued that what we believe on the basis of the senses cannot
meet the standard. Consequently, he concluded, we do not know anything on the basis of our
senses and the dream argument is formed.
The dream argument results from a realization by Descartes that he

Matcha Green Tea Speech
Let us be completely frank with each other here and make a confession: any liquid that is green
in color is disgusting. We want to lose weight; we want to be healthy; and then we are
recommended to drink some juice or another, and they are mostly, if not all, green. That is when
we start to consider our life choices and wonder if losing weight or avoiding canceris even worth it
for us to ingest green juice. Like, we could be drinking chocolate milkshakes and we re drinking
green juice? Come on!
Still, everybody wants to lose weight, everybody wants to die peacefully and not of cancer, so what

The answer is: Matcha green tea.

1.Cancer, go away
Never accuse us of giving you false facts just to convince you that matcha green tea really works.

Morgan Motor Company
Morgan Motor Company (MMC) began as a family company and has remained that way over the
years. Decisions were largely driven by steady demand for their luxury product. Traditionally,
decision making was premised on production quotas that kept supply slightly behind demand. While
the company made a profit, it was not enough to sustain the company in the long term due
increasing costs caused by inefficient methods of production. The key area for improvement was
strategic planning based on detailed and accurate information. The implementation of the strategic
plan would require a review of human resource managementpractices in order for MMC to develop
into an organisation that valued continuous innovation.

In the first instance, focus should be on developing managers to help facilitate organisational
change (Waldersee, 1997) and enable them to be effective role models within the company.
Training solutions and interventions should target general areas such as effective teamwork and
communication, motivating workers and encouraging innovation. Additionally, where there are
identified skills gaps, it should also target content specific areas e.g. contemporary sales and
marketing practices would make up for the sales director s lack of recent sales experience. Once
again, Charles was led by example by enrolling in an MBA, thus demonstrating his commitment to
ongoing education and development.
Although collectivism has traditionally been associated with eastern cultures (Härtel, Fujimoto,
Straybosch, Fitzpatrick, 2007), motor companies like Ford and Toyota moved away from
Taylorism and demonstrated the value of teamwork in vehicle manufacturing (Winfield Kerrin,
1996). However, MMC s reward system of individual production bonuses did not acknowledge the
value of teamwork. Moreover, an unspecified dollar amount that was eroded by inefficiencies in the
production process did not provide an incentive to improve production. Not only should these
individual production bonuses be quantified, the company should also consider a reward system for
foremen to acknowledge their efforts in encouraging individuals and teams to achieve higher
production.

what they wanted. From this came a great deal of frustration and pain for the two men, their
wives, and families. The movie also related to a common issue of today s society and that is the
continued discrimination of the LGBT community. There are signs of change in modern
society, but also much needed work to be done to allow an individual to live a life with freedom
to express their sexuality. When the viewer looks at the film from a sociological perspective, the
issue of societal norms is seen and the abnormal relationship in a homosexual relationship is the
focus. When you think of the western part of the United States, the wild west comes to mind.

Summer Driving Research Paper
Drive Safely This Summer Memorial Day semi officially kicks off the summer travel season.
Millions of people take to the roads to vacation, explore new places, visit family and have fun.
Your mind may be racing with all of the things you need to plan and pack but don t forget about
your vehicle! It s always a good idea to get a car check up before a trip but especially in the
summer, when heat, heavy loads and traffic can take a toll (on your vehicle and your sanity). So,
here s a handy summer driving checklist to head off major issues while away from home. Get an
oil change. Do this especially if you re due for one, but also if you re close to being due. You ll
be putting extra miles on your vehicle and in conditions that are different from your usual daily
driving particularly if you re towing a boat, trailer or other vehicle. Better to be safe than sorry.
Test your air conditioner. You ll know if cold air is coming out when you turn it on, but you may
want to check if the system is fully charged with refrigerant and see if you have a noisy
compressor. You don t want to be without cool air on a hot drive and the belt that powers your AC
also powers other important things, like your water pump. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

And your radiator one of the most important parts of your vehicle. You don t want the radiator
core to rot on a trip, and you should ask for a flow test if you re concerned about a plugged
radiator. Take a look at your belts and hoses too, to make sure they are tight and in good
condition. Make sure your coolant isn t in need of replacement if it is, replace it now. Have your
cooling fan and heater core checked too. And when you have work done, it may be a good time to
get your thermostat replaced. This can be expensive work, but it will be worth it to not be stuck on

Personal Reflection In Communication
According to the Thomas Kilmann quiz in our iBook I scored highest in the following areas:
compromising, collaboration, and accommodations. Whereas my lowest, and nearly nonexistent
areas are competing and avoiding. As a speech/theatre major, the topic of conflict resolution isn t
new to me. I ve done many reflection papers just like this one and have taken many similar
quizzes. For the most part I would agree with the results they re very similar to most of the
quizzes like these I have taken, including this one. In life I believe everything is about wearing
different hats. Depending on the company and setting depends on the hat you wear. For instance,
how you act around your friends and how you act at work isn t the same. At work, you wear your
professional hat, or at least I would hope so. Same goes for conflictresolution.
When it comes to conflict resolution I would like to think that I fit a few categories rather than
just one in particular. I mean, I soon will be teaching communications, so I would hope I am
somewhat versatile at least. I know for certain that I don t avoid conflict, and I can be extremely
head strong and vocal. In my life, it has proven to be both a blessing and a curse. My concern
with my inability to avoid a situation is that I might come off too strong. I have been told on more
than one occasion that I come off as intimidating, no matter how friendly I try to be. I could see this
causing potential issues in my future career when

William Leslie Research Paper
There is a small white church located on a U.S. highway near the intersection of two Interstate
highways in northern New Jersey. There, a Scottish flag flies over an easily missed gravestone in a
small churchyard. This stone was erected by an American Founding Father over the burial plot of
an officer in the British Army during the Revolution.
William Leslie was born in 1751, the son of David Leslie, the sixth earl of Leven and the fifth
earl of Melville in Scotland. He arrived in Britain s North American colonies as a lieutenant in the
17th Regiment of Foot in time to witness the British and their Hessian allies attack Fort Washington
in New York. He joined General Charles Cornwallison November 27, 1776 on his march across
New Jersey in pursuit of Washington s retreating army. Leslie went into winter quarters with the
rest of his regiment expecting a quiet winter.
George Washington, fearing the dissolution of his army and the end of the revolution, made a
desperate attempt to turn the tides of war. On the night of December 25, 1776, his army crossed
the Delaware River from Pennsylvania into New Jersey and marched to Trenton in the dark and in

Native Myths of How the Stars Came to Be
Throughout generations stories were passed down about how things could ve been created like the
earth, mankind, and even the stars. Every culture and religion has their own myth of how things
came to be. The Hindu s, Native American s, and the Chinese all made up stories about how the
stars were created.
The Native Americans believed that in the story Coyote Places The Stars , a coyote wonders why
his wolf brothers look up at the sky every night. Well when the wolves finally tell the coyote that
there are animals up in the sky. The coyote shot arrows up into the sky to create a ladder to be
able to climb to the stars and visit the animals above. As they climbed to the stars they found two
bears roaming the skies. The coyote decided to leave the wolves with the bears and as he climbed
down the arrows he took one out at a time so the wolves couldn t leave. As the coyote looks up at
the night sky, he is pleased on how the arrangement of the stars look so he begins to arrange other
stars as well, pleased with work he told Meadowlark to tell people who looks at the stars that it
was the coyote who has placed the stars, now Meadowlark tells everyone about coyote and the
stars ( Native American Legends ). The Hindu s believed that a coyote, a Navajo god, was
created by the mischievous behavior of the gods. When the world was created the Holy People
gathered around and began placing stars in the sky, angered by the slow process of the star placings,

War on Drugs is War on Democracy Essay
The voters of California succeeded in passing a proposition to legalize the medicinal use of
marijuana as prescribed by doctors. The passing of Proposition 215 seemed to symbolize a
promising trend toward knowledge of the substance. However, after reading an article by Eric
Schlosser in the April issue of Atlantic Monthly, I have been shocked with the reality of what is
occurring elsewhere.
Many of us are aware of the idiocy of our legal system treating marijuana offenders worse than
violent criminals. I doubt, however, that many Americans are truly conscious of how some peoples
lives have been shattered because of current practices in the so called drug war. Now, about 15

Legislation for the bill was hastily pushed through Congress, inspired by the recent passing of a
standout basketball player and first round draft pick of the Boston Celtics. Len Bias died on June
17, 1986 due to heart failure caused by crack cocaine.
In drafting the bill, the prime factor for necessitating a mandatory minimum sentence was the
quantity of drugs involved in the crime. As Eric Sterling, then assistant counsel for the House
Subcommittee of Crime, states, Numbers were being picked out of thin air. Less than three months
after being drafted, the bill was signed by President Reagan.
One result of this legislation was the conviction of Donald Clark, a watermelon farmer in Florida
found guilty of growing marijuana. He was sentenced to probation by the state court, then re tried
five years later under federal law and sentenced to life in prison.
In addition to severe incarceration penalties, the government may also seize all possessions

If these facts shock you, the next ones will make you sick. The allure for seizing property is that
the assets are divided among the various law enforcement agencies involved who can then sell
those assets for profit. Thirty one drug agents raided the

start of practice. If someone is late they get talked to by one of the coaches which is one of their
sanctions they practice. Being attentive is a good lesson swimmers learn that gets them ready
for having a job after college. At morning practice, it is kind of astonishing to see the swimmers
being unexpectedly energetic, especially at 5:40 AM. Before jumping into the pool, I noticed a
lot of the swimmers were doing some sort of dance. They were swinging their arms, jumping up
and down, stretching, etc. I think They are doing some dynamic warm ups they go through
before entering into the pool. They do this to get them loose and ready to swim. It almost as if it
is a ritual they do before every practice or before every event at a meet. It like how Michael
Phelps flops his arms around behind the blocks before racing. Swimmers are a unique subculture
as well. I feel as if they are pretty open minded and generally nice people. There are a few
characteristic that set swimmers apart from the normal culture. Most of them have big shoulders
which makes sense because they use them every day in the water. Sometimes one can tell a
swimmer from how their hair looks. Some have distinguishable fried hair that is shiny and messy.
Another thing to tell a swimmer is by the amount of food they eat. If anyone has seen a group of

Angela K. Y. Leung (2011) singles out two obstacles in the intercultural communication which
are the most major and common among people. First of them is an obstacle called Person Level
Obstacle. It describes that there are two types of people. There are people who has no problem

no problems with communication however, the group of people who has problems while having

different beliefs, values, behaviours and even gestures. Another obstacle is close mindedness.
According to Leung (2011), People who are open to experience have a predisposition to learn from
new cultural experiences and engage in intercultural interactions . Those people are curious about
people from different culture, they would like to know it, but there are also people with low levels
of openness and they may find encountering foreign cultures to be overwhelming, shocking and

Information communication technology (ICT) helps to learn theoretic development discoveries,

teaching assistant (HLTA) and children access to educational resources from around the globe
anytime and day. While using ICT, children learn concepts, history, ideas, theories and practices

to Andrews et al. (2006, p.5) ICT has been defined as including stand alone computers, networked

Examples Of Hermeneutical Injustice
In this paper, I would like to argue that people with medical condition the is still misunderstood and
largely undiagnosed does experience hermeneutical injustice, rather than a mere circumstantial
epistemic bad luck as categorized by Miranda Fricker (2007). The argument provided by Fricker for
differentiating hermeneutical injustice and circumstantial epistemic bad luck is invalid most of the
time. This is because those patients continually experience unequal hermeneutical participation and
background social conditions that maintained the relevant hermeneutical gap. Before presenting my
arguments, I would first examine Fricker s view on hermeneutical injustice and the poignant case of
circumstantial epistemic bad luck. Next, the unequal social... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Even if questions about his feelings were being asked, questions that are opposing to the doctor s
judgements are barely asked. Patients are usually hermeneutically marginalized in a way that their
views are often being excluded from epistemic consideration. This may be attributed by the
difference in social position of doctors and patients. Doctors usually hold greater social power than
patients due to their profession. The power can be exercised unconsciously to marginalize the
hermeneutical participation of the relatively powerless patient groups. In the case of diseases that
are highly infectious and fatal, the usual response is avoiding contact with those patients instead of
searching and learning more information about that disease. Hence, the medical condition remains
misunderstood. Salient negative resources are more likely to be left in the hermeneutical pool
because those are the ones which are noticeable to the dominant group. True resources that
captures the patients medical situation and experience can be ignored. Hence, there is a
prejudicial exclusion from the pooling of knowledge, which is the primary harm of hermeneutical
injustice identified by Fricker. Consider the following case: there is a disease that has similar
symptoms as being physically abused, in which bruises and bone fracture are the common and
frequent symptom. Patients with such disease visited several large hospitals, but all medical staffs
conclude that the patient has been physically abused and refuse to agree that they are symptoms of
a disease or investigate further. The medical staffs have used the usual interpretation of treating the
presence of bruises and bone fracture as a physical abuse in preference of accepting the very
unlikely but true interpretation held by the patients. Those who are living or had close contact with
the patients with such disease may be accused of physically

A Roadmap For Development Of Global Business Leadership...
1. To create a roadmap for development of global business leadership skills in your organization.
Business leadership is very important. Without a good leader, a business will be ruined. So it is
very important to create a roadmap for development of global business leadership skills in an
organization. Creating a roadmap to develop leadership skill is to continue using a smart
management program at all levels across the organization. In fact, an organizations needs leadership
development programs to focus on hiring strategies, employee development, career and succession

Leadership development has been developed by focusing on from a few individuals in the

executing programs to develop skills, and measuring the success of these programs. In other
words, with today s technology, leadership development can be deployed to extend these practices

Discussing Your Present Leisure Interests
DB#6 1. Discuss your present leisure interests. Also indicate and explain which of these interests
you expect will change and which you expect to remain stable as you age. My leisure activates
are now few and far between as time usually does not permit. I have always enjoyed reading and I
started knitting at the age of 26. However I cherish the time I spend with my 5 year old niece. I
usually keep her once a week, more often when our school schedules allow it. The reading and
knitting are expected to stay fairly stable throughout my life with the exceptions of my body
aging. It may come to a point that I have trouble seeing as I age (as early as 40 visual changes
can occur), farsightedness increases with age while nearsightedness decreases (Berger, 2010).
This would make knitting and reading more challenging, if I was unable to see close up.
Spending time with my niece will change drastically as we both age. She will be become more
interested in relationships, whether they are friendships or romantic relationships and will want
to spend a greater amount of time with her social clique or crowd. She is an extremely social
child so I imagine she will remain so as she grows. Also she is now extremely active, if she
remains that way she will want to participate in sports. As for my body it will continue to age, so
the agility and physical endurance I currently posses will continue to decrease. She has yet to

How The Cold War Changed The Emergence Of Marvel Comics
The Superhero comics and storylines has always been an integral part of the world s cultural
history and the combination of historical events with fantasy themes has made them irresistible to
comic book readers of various generations.
Starting from the Great Depression in Europe, characters like Superman and Batman laid the
foundation for the liberal superhero tradition which is still prevalent. That was followed by the
Second World War where the superheroes assumed far greater roles the fighter for their country
and a source of inspiration for the Americans back home. This was also the beginning of patriotic
propaganda in the storylines which became a trend in the wartime editions of major superhero
comic books.
The end of World War II was not good news for the publishers as it served as their primary
storyline for a very long time, and as a result, the focus shifted to horror stories which were
designed to appeal to the more mature audience. But, the beginning of the Cold War saw an attack
against the comic book industry by Dr. Fredric Wertham and the United States government on the

The stories were created to depict the tension and political struggle of the on going Cold War
which was reflected through the anxiety of the superheroes for their country. This era was also
famous for the introduction of the flawed superheroes who were much more human and as a result,
more relatable to the general audience. The storylines were not only restricted to large than life

Instances where Music Has Been Influenced by Politics
Music has always been tied to what has been happening to in the world around its creator. This is
true for classical music, as well as popular (pop) music. Pop music is music that is mass
marketed and shared primarily by recordings. The Emergence of pop music occurred because of
the invention of three recording devices, the phonograph cylinder (1878), the flat gramophone
record (1887), and the Player piano (1896). Musicians like James Reese Europe had to find ways to
allow himself (and other African Americans) able to perform, as well as get his musicheard.
Shostakovich had to work within Stalin s Social Realism. Ravel s La Valse is a reaction the War
in Europe. In many ways has music has been influenced by the politics of the time these are the
three composers I am going to focus on. James Reese Europe lived from 1880 1919. He studied
music theory and violin from the Assistant Director of the United States Marine Corps Band.
When he was 22 he moved to New York, where he was able to get some work but not a whole lot.
This was due to his African heritage. So, he responded by creating the Clef Club. The Clef Club
was a multipurpose organization; it served as social club, a booking agency, and a trade union for
African American musicians in New York City. Through this club, he was able to stage concerts at
Carnegie Hall with 125 piece orchestras. In 1913 the Castles, who were a married couple who
watered down the elaborate ballroom dances to a minimum number of steps

  • 2. Citizen Kane Meaning Essay The use of lighting in this film was very pretentious and was used to add good aspects to Citizen Kane. The lighting changed based off what the mood corresponded for example, some scenes had a copacetic or pleasant mood. In the beginning, the scene was a very formidable scene. The lighting was dark which portrayed fear towards the audience. The mood was implying fear and almost an alarming mood for the viewers the lighting helped entail this by giving dark, hair raising lighting. The type of lighting they used in this particular scene was not frontal lighting, but actually the exact opposite they used backlighting. Not just the opening scene included lighting that imposed horror to the audience, there were other scenes that used a type of lighting... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The lighting also helped the audience recognize there was a storm occurring which can also help portray fear. Another scene that had great lighting that impacted the story was the party scene . This scene was the scene where people sat around the table, toasting and one man stood up shouting should we take Spain to war? . I noticed that the lighting in the beginning of the scene was darker but as soon as the band hit the first few beats, the lighting grew much brighter, showing the mood of this particular scene was upbeat and happy. This scene was also much brighter (and mood) than the opening scene where the lighting and mood were dark. Overall, the lighting in this film was very well done whether it showed the dark and fearful mood or to portray a storm or something along the lines of that. The lighting also did change throughout the film primarily to correspond the mood if it was supposed to cause fear in viewers, the lighting was darker and made the characters look more sinister like in the scene where Kane held the snow globe while murmuring rose bud...under lighting came into ... • 3. Industrial relations ideologies Introduction A frame of reference is not a philosophical concept. It refers to one s worldview and the evaluation or judgement of one s observations. One s frame of reference coincides with one s behaviour and the consequences thereof. Therefore, a frame of reference is fixed but one needs to be sensitive and accept individual differences in frames of reference. This paper aims to address the frame of reference of Pick n Pay s chairman and joint managing director, Mr Raymond Ackerman. The arguments presented in this paper are my own with a theoretical basis from the work of Bluen (1987). My interpretation of Mr Ackerman s frame of reference will be presented in relation to the organisation, conflict, collective bargaining and trade... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This reiterates the notion of balance of power. Collective bargaining The ability for positions to reach a consensus is reached through collective bargaining. Bluen (1987) infers that the pluralist frame of reference does not seek to remove conflict but to manage it. Mr Ackerman acknowledged the existence of conflict and tried to manage it by sending his negotiating team to resolve the conflict and end the strike. Mr Ackerman has a pluralist view because he believes the issue should have been resolved during negotiations. He even went as far as awarding greater bargaining flexibility to the negotiating team. The mere fact that Mr Ackerman was so determined to resolve the conflict though means of collective bargaining should eliminate the likelihood of a unitary frame of reference. Collective bargaining, an equitable balance of power, and essentially the aim to compromise confirm that Mr Ackerman holds a pluralist view on industrial relations. Mr Ackerman fought to reach a consensus for personal and economic reasons. The breakthrough to reach a consensus was achieved after he delivered his speech. He appealed to the opposing union members by focusing on personal matters. This led to the agreement of a negotiation. Mr Ackerman considered going up on his agreement and the union considered going down on theirs. No suppression or unilateral decision making occurred. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Situtational Judgement Tests Introduction Situational judgment tests (SJTs) is one of the common methods which always be used in personnel selection recently. Specifically, situational judgment tests (SJTs) typically consist of scenarios of hypothetical work situations in which a problem has arisen. Accompanying each scenario are multiple possible ways to respond to the hypothetical situation. The test taker is then asked to judge the possible courses of action (L. A. L. de Meijer et al., 2010, p.229). In terms of the development of SJTs, the scenarios and situations are always gathered by the subject matter experts from specific job related critical incidents; and then subject matter experts would gather information in order to create the possible responses; finally, subject matter experts would develop the scoring keys for the SJTs (Crook et al., 2011). SJT items may be presented in different formats, such as paper pencil based, verbal, video based, or computer based formats (e.g., Clevenger, Pereira, Wiechmann, Schmitt, Schmidt Harvey, 2001; Motowidlo et al., 1990), and participants of the SJTs are usually required to choose the most appropriate option among the several options for each situation or scenario (Christian, Edwards, Bradley, 2010). The most common formats are paper pencil based and video based SJTs. We first have the paper pencil based SJTs, and then, Thorndike (1949) mentioned the video based SJTs would be closer to real life situations than the paper pencil based formation of ... • 6. Franklin Delano Roosevelt s Four Freedoms Franklin Delano Roosevelt s Four Freedoms speech, given on January 6, 1941, provided rationale behind his idea that the United States needed to abandon isolationist policies. This speech provided the basis for the civil liberties that different groups of people would fight for during the next seventy years as well as context for America s involvement in foreign affairs regarding democracy. The Four Freedoms FDR listed were as follows: freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom from want, and freedom from fear. Due to these threats, the United States took severe measures to spread democratic ideals to other countries, however in the attempt to prevent a WWIII, democratic practices often produced antidemocratic outcomes according to Suri. Some of these antidemocratic strategies included containment and the Truman Doctrine, which aimed to prevent the spread of communism to Eastern Europe and Asia. As president, Ronald Reagan promised to cut the budget, reduce taxes, trim the bureaucracy, revive America, and subdue the Soviets, ultimately leading to the collapse of the Soviet Union. • 9. Every Good Father Is A Successful Father Robert Duvall, an American actor and filmmaker once wisely stated, Not every successful man is a good father. But every good father is a successful man. This quote reveals just how fulfilling and important a true father s job can be. A father has many responsibilities, yet his family should become a priority in his life every day. No matter what happens around them, a father must bring his familytogether, showing them Christ s love. The role of a father encompasses many different duties. Yet a man begins learning fundamental qualities early on in life that will help him raise a family later on. In order to become an excellent father, a man must first master the skills of leading, providing, and protecting. An essential skill, mastering leadership allows for a man to gain the respect of his family while managing his household. When a father leads, he earns the respect of his wife and children, which in turn allows him to oversee the affairs of the family. For example, a father makes a habit of reading scripture to his family, and praying for others in need. Mentoring his wife and children through this activity, this man shows how a father should guide all the members of his family, helping them grow spiritually. Or, a family decides to go to dinner, but no one can agree on where to dine. Who ultimately makes this simple decision? The father must take control of the situation and select a place to eat, avoiding hours of useless bickering about who should make the choice. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is also important to know what types of positions and projects would allow you to utilize those strengths to benefit your career. Taking the GLEAM.org Network Assessment and Motivational Style Assessment were very helpful in identifying some of those strengths and weakness in my professional environment. The Networkassessment was especially interesting because it was such a unique type of assessment. Both the size and density of my network was defined as medium, which was a little bit surprising to me. Since over half of my network contacts listed are coworkers, I was expecting the density and size to be small. While the size and density of my network were average, my report indicates that I have weaker ties than the average respondent. My Personal Network report identifies a benefit of this being that I could potentially have access to a much broader range of information. The report also identifies the disadvantage of this being that those weaker relationships would be unable to provide a higher level of support if needed. The insight that this report provided me will be very helpful when thinking about completion of the Master of Accounting (MAcc) program and my career over the next five years. One of his goals was to measure the acceleration due to gravity, or the acceleration of freely falling objects. Unfortunately, his timing devices were not precise enough to measure the free fall time directly. He decided to dilute gravity by using fluids, inclined planes, and pendulums. Galileo s idea of diluting gravity using inclined planes worked like this: the acceleration of a rolling cart on an inclined plane is small, therefore is easy to measure; when the angle of the incline gets bigger, the acceleration will get bigger; by measuring the dependence of the acceleration on ... It has been necessary for the DHS to grow and adapt as new and more dangerous threats became known. However, as more threats are prevented successfully, newer and sometimes tougher challenges for the DHS arise. In an effort to pinpoint the most important things affecting the nation, strategic plans are used, sometimes in the form of multi missions plans, in order to separate different jobs to focus on. Since it is the duty of homeland securityto keep the American people safe, but also feel safe, it is important that the public remains confident in the DHS. It may be questioned, but the DHS has the capability to identify and handle future challenges that may arise. But, it cannot be at the expense of the American public s civil liberties. It may be difficult to walk that fine line, but it is imperative that the DHS does in order to keep the country safe. The ability to identify future challenges is paramount for the DHS. In order to do this, adequate collection and analysis of intelligence, both foreign and domestic, is necessary. Once this intelligence is gathered, a strategic plan can begin to be developed in order to address new challenges and threats facing the country. • 17. Thomas Descartes s Dream Argument And The Dream... In the First Meditation Descartes famously presented his dream argument or dream paradox in which he questions how we can distinguish between dreams and waking life. In this essay, I will explore various responses to the argument such as Hobbes and Locke and how I think Descartes would dismiss these arguments. I will finally present my own criticism alongside the work of Austin, Simpson and Ryle in order to illustrate the inconsistency of Descartes claims. In order to deconstruct the dreamparadox I will appeal to one of the three common methods of solving paradoxes; denying a premise, particularly the first premise as this results in the collapse of the remaining conditional premises. I will ultimately show that the dream argumentis a paradox and how this causes the dream argument to fail. Descartes aim throughout the first segment of his Meditations to overthrow existing foundations of knowledge and encourages readers to remove prior knowledge and prejudices in order to fully accept the new foundations which he aims to establish. The method of doubt is used to find beliefs that can serve as a new foundation for knowledge. Only beliefs that are certain, immune from doubt, can perform this function. Descartes argued that what we believe on the basis of the senses cannot meet the standard. Consequently, he concluded, we do not know anything on the basis of our senses and the dream argument is formed. The dream argument results from a realization by Descartes that he ... • 29. War on Drugs is War on Democracy Essay The voters of California succeeded in passing a proposition to legalize the medicinal use of marijuana as prescribed by doctors. The passing of Proposition 215 seemed to symbolize a promising trend toward knowledge of the substance. However, after reading an article by Eric Schlosser in the April issue of Atlantic Monthly, I have been shocked with the reality of what is occurring elsewhere. Many of us are aware of the idiocy of our legal system treating marijuana offenders worse than violent criminals. I doubt, however, that many Americans are truly conscious of how some peoples lives have been shattered because of current practices in the so called drug war. Now, about 15 years since its beginning, the war on drugs has become a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Len Bias died on June 17, 1986 due to heart failure caused by crack cocaine. In drafting the bill, the prime factor for necessitating a mandatory minimum sentence was the quantity of drugs involved in the crime. As Eric Sterling, then assistant counsel for the House Subcommittee of Crime, states, Numbers were being picked out of thin air. Less than three months after being drafted, the bill was signed by President Reagan. One result of this legislation was the conviction of Donald Clark, a watermelon farmer in Florida found guilty of growing marijuana. In addition to severe incarceration penalties, the government may also seize all possessions without due process. • 30. Reflection Paper On Swimming Attentiveness is a key value the team holds. Everyone needs to be there and ready to go by the start of practice. If someone is late they get talked to by one of the coaches which is one of their sanctions they practice. Being attentive is a good lesson swimmers learn that gets them ready for having a job after college. At morning practice, it is kind of astonishing to see the swimmers being unexpectedly energetic, especially at 5:40 AM. Before jumping into the pool, I noticed a lot of the swimmers were doing some sort of dance. They were swinging their arms, jumping up and down, stretching, etc. I think They are doing some dynamic warm ups they go through before entering into the pool. They do this to get them loose and ready to swim. It almost as if it is a ritual they do before every practice or before every event at a meet. It like how Michael Phelps flops his arms around behind the blocks before racing. Swimmers are a unique subculture as well. I feel as if they are pretty open minded and generally nice people. There are a few characteristic that set swimmers apart from the normal culture. Most of them have big shoulders which makes sense because they use them every day in the water. Sometimes one can tell a swimmer from how their hair looks. Some have distinguishable fried hair that is shiny and messy. Another thing to tell a swimmer is by the amount of food they eat. If anyone has seen a group of swimmers at the cafeteria at their school, it is mostly likely one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Examples Of Hermeneutical Injustice In this paper, I would like to argue that people with medical condition the is still misunderstood and largely undiagnosed does experience hermeneutical injustice, rather than a mere circumstantial epistemic bad luck as categorized by Miranda Fricker (2007). The argument provided by Fricker for differentiating hermeneutical injustice and circumstantial epistemic bad luck is invalid most of the time. This is because those patients continually experience unequal hermeneutical participation and background social conditions that maintained the relevant hermeneutical gap. Before presenting my arguments, I would first examine Fricker s view on hermeneutical injustice and the poignant case of circumstantial epistemic bad luck. Next, the unequal social... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even if questions about his feelings were being asked, questions that are opposing to the doctor s judgements are barely asked. Patients are usually hermeneutically marginalized in a way that their views are often being excluded from epistemic consideration. This may be attributed by the difference in social position of doctors and patients. Doctors usually hold greater social power than patients due to their profession. The power can be exercised unconsciously to marginalize the hermeneutical participation of the relatively powerless patient groups. In the case of diseases that are highly infectious and fatal, the usual response is avoiding contact with those patients instead of searching and learning more information about that disease. Hence, the medical condition remains misunderstood. Salient negative resources are more likely to be left in the hermeneutical pool because those are the ones which are noticeable to the dominant group. True resources that captures the patients medical situation and experience can be ignored. Hence, there is a prejudicial exclusion from the pooling of knowledge, which is the primary harm of hermeneutical injustice identified by Fricker. Consider the following case: there is a disease that has similar symptoms as being physically abused, in which bruises and bone fracture are the common and frequent symptom. Patients with such disease visited several large hospitals, but all medical staffs conclude that the patient has been physically abused and refuse to agree that they are symptoms of a disease or investigate further. The medical staffs have used the usual interpretation of treating the presence of bruises and bone fracture as a physical abuse in preference of accepting the very unlikely but true interpretation held by the patients. Those who are living or had close contact with the patients with such disease may be accused of physically ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Business leadership is very important. Without a good leader, a business will be ruined. Also indicate and explain which of these interests you expect will change and which you expect to remain stable as you age. My leisure activates are now few and far between as time usually does not permit. I have always enjoyed reading and I started knitting at the age of 26. However I cherish the time I spend with my 5 year old niece. I usually keep her once a week, more often when our school schedules allow it. The reading and knitting are expected to stay fairly stable throughout my life with the exceptions of my body aging. It may come to a point that I have trouble seeing as I age (as early as 40 visual changes can occur), farsightedness increases with age while nearsightedness decreases (Berger, 2010). This would make knitting and reading more challenging, if I was unable to see close up. Spending time with my niece will change drastically as we both age. She will be become more interested in relationships, whether they are friendships or romantic relationships and will want to spend a greater amount of time with her social clique or crowd. She is an extremely social child so I imagine she will remain so as she grows. Also she is now extremely active, if she remains that way she will want to participate in sports. As for my body it will continue to age, so the agility and physical endurance I currently posses will continue to decrease. How The Cold War Changed The Emergence Of Marvel Comics The Superhero comics and storylines has always been an integral part of the world s cultural history and the combination of historical events with fantasy themes has made them irresistible to comic book readers of various generations. Starting from the Great Depression in Europe, characters like Superman and Batman laid the foundation for the liberal superhero tradition which is still prevalent. That was followed by the Second World War where the superheroes assumed far greater roles the fighter for their country and a source of inspiration for the Americans back home. This was also the beginning of patriotic propaganda in the storylines which became a trend in the wartime editions of major superhero comic books. The end of World War II was not good news for the publishers as it served as their primary storyline for a very long time, and as a result, the focus shifted to horror stories which were designed to appeal to the more mature audience. This is true for classical music, as well as popular (pop) music. Pop music is music that is mass marketed and shared primarily by recordings. The Emergence of pop music occurred because of the invention of three recording devices, the phonograph cylinder (1878), the flat gramophone record (1887), and the Player piano (1896). Musicians like James Reese Europe had to find ways to allow himself (and other African Americans) able to perform, as well as get his musicheard. He studied music theory and violin from the Assistant Director of the United States Marine Corps Band. When he was 22 he moved to New York, where he was able to get some work but not a whole lot. This was due to his African heritage. So, he responded by creating the Clef Club. The Clef Club was a multipurpose organization; it served as social club, a booking agency, and a trade union for African American musicians in New York City.
