Essay On Building Improvement
VIII. Fostering Improvement in My Communication for the Future The items I can personally
improve upon to be a polished leader include making clear nonverbal gestures and clear comments so
there are no misinterpretations. Often, I say something without giving complete details and then have
to clarify it later. I need to always make face to face contacts to eliminate misunderstandings and take
the time to thoroughly explain what I am asking someone to do. I can dictate what I want a lot easier
than actually thinking and writing it down at the same time. Spelling is very difficult so I always use
spell check. I often have someone proof read for me and I use a program to find grammar mistakes
before I send anything written out. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Safety communication in the workplace is and has been crucial my whole career. I must promote
Personal Protective Equipment use such as mouth pieces, gloves, and air masks as a First Responder
and other PPE such as lanyards, and SCBA to the operators. I express safety in verbal and nonverbal
forms for example crane and forklift hand/arm signals and lights and whistles for boat traffic. I have
other safety skills embedded in my routine such as monitoring for fall prevention and pinch points. We
must assess incidents afterwards to evaluate and communicate to minimize future safety concerns. I
have had to demonstrate and apply skills based off communication techniques to include oral, written,
and nonverbal skills. I have taught many safety courses including CPR and First Aid and served as a
First Responder. I have an extensive mechanical background including pump repair, load testing,
brake replacement, and normal operations. My teaching philosophy is publically praise and privately
punish . Meaning to discipline someone in private not in front of others. The military has provided me
with leadership and communication skills and the chemical industrial has given me skills in industrial
and health safety. This conglomeration has afforded me the opportunity to use these skills in my
current position as Assistant Lockmaster to effectively communicate with the operators and mechanics
so, they may effectively perform

Citizens United V. Federal Election Commission Case Study
The Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission case is based around the first amendment right of
free speech and who is allowed to have the right thereof. Facts about the case brief are that Citizens
United was the creator of a documentary film that lasted 90 minutes long and required viewers to pay
to watch. The film started in theaters and then moved to DVD, after that had finished Citizens United
then created a few more short ads for television that requested voters not to vote for Hillary Clinton.
The concern arises when a group is able to create a full movie length campaign negative towards one
candidate. The issue with the case is a section in the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act BCRA that

Service Learning Paper
Fox Valley Humane Association Service Learning Project
I decided to start volunteering at the local humane society because I ve always been really passionate
about animals and wanted to start benefiting them in the community. Prior to my service I was
delighted because I ve wanted to start volunteering for years and was glad the opportunity had
presented itself. Throughout my experience I learned a great deal and met a lot of new people. Even
though I ve only just started serving my time at the Fox Valley Humane Association I can truly see the
difference it has made in the community.
I started out by attending an orientation for new volunteers. During this time I filled out ... Show more

He came to the shelter seeking to find his cat. He told me how he had decided to end things with his
girlfriend and that the day after his cat was missing. Turns out his girlfriend proceeded to break into
his house and steal his cat along with all the cats things. I had to break the news that she had brought
the cat here to be euthanized. I then helped him gather his Louie Viton cat carrier (Goes to show how
much he truly loved his cat), his beloved cat s toys, blanket, and bed. This guy was a mess and it was
very hard to experience. This concludes that along with all of the many good memories that came out
of the volunteering experience at the shelter it isn t all rainbows and smiles.
I learned many things from my experience while volunteering at the Fox Valley Humane Association.
One of those is how much my time really does matter. While completing tasks like laundry, dishes,
greeter, and collecting donations out at the mall I realized how much one person can contribute. By
helping out with these tasks I prevented the staff from doing it. If volunteers weren t present someone
would still need to do the work which would have been taking away from staff duties. The staff has
other duties to tend to such as tending sick animals, preforming spaying and neutering, declawing, and
working at the desk. These are important to the animal s health and if the staff were always busy
completing tasks volunteers do there wouldn t be time to tend

Two factories were used: one in Huzhou, the other in Quzhou, both in Zhejiang province. Among the
initial products were the Haoqing, a 4 door sedan, later the LG 1 station wagon and most recently the

the Haoqing, equipped with a 4 cylinder Toyota engine, was introduced. Geely presented the PS4
sports car at the Shanghai Automobile Show of 2005, and started to sell them in China during 2006
(Exhibit 2 in Appendix A). By 2005 Geely Motors had four production facilities. One was a joint
venture between Geely (53%) and the Quzhou Holding Co. (47%), an investment company listed in
Hong Kong. Since 2003, Geely had also been working with Daewoo on a joint venture. In 2006 this
venture had produced a new model of the PS4 sports car which had just been introduced at the 2006
Detroit International Auto Show. By 2006 overall production capacity for the four facilities were about

Firefighter Research Papers
Firefighter fatalities are one of the many areas the U.S. Fire Administration collects data on and
completes a report annually from reports coming from all the United States. They have conducted and
analyzed this information for about 30 years. The report is completed as resource to identify cause of
death and trying to prevent future firefighter deaths. According to this report, there were 122
firefighter fatalities from January 5, to December 29, 2007. During that year, eleven (nine percent) of
the fatalities occurred in the state of South Carolina. During the month of June 2007, nine South
Carolina firefighters perished in a single fire and nine others were seriously injured. The catastrophic
fire occurred on June 18, 2007. The fire started ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The water supply didn t help their situation. Although, there was four fire engines that arrived within
four minutes within each other and their supply lines were laid out within six minutes, they ran into
complications. While Engine 10 11 were waiting for the supply lines to be laid out, they started to use
the pre connected hand lines from the tank water but noticed they had no water pressure. Engine 12
and 16 reported that they were having problems due to vehicle traffic running over supply lines. The
pressure had to be boosted by both E 12 and E 16 well above the 200 psi working limit of the supply
hoses being used in order to accommodate for the friction losses and low water volume. The firemen
never established adequate hose lines nor were fire streams deployed. There were not enough water
supplies for the size of the fire either. Ladder 5 was not put into operation until the fire had escalated
and the additional supply lines that could have been used to fight the beginning fire were not laid out
by Engine 11, Ladder 5, and Ladder 4 until the fire was had escalated. The delay in all this added to

Five Benefits Of Acupuncture
When it comes to your health, if you there is a problem, it should not be ignored. There are a variety
of ways to address and treat these health issues after you discover something is wrong, most
commonly through the use of medication. Should you have tried medication and not noticed any
improvements, perhaps it is time to try acupuncture.
Here are five benefits of getting acupuncture in Brampton.
Insomnia: A lot of people have difficulty sleeping at night. No matter how hard you try or how tired
you are, it can be a struggle to fall asleep and stay asleep once you do finally manage to get some rest.
Acupuncture is said to help insomnia sufferers get better sleep. This is because The neurotransmitters

Perhaps you had a bad day or suffer from depression or another medical condition that causes you to
feel down and unhappy. Medication is often the treatment for those who have issues with their mood
on a regular basis, but acupuncture can also help. The neurotransmitters that help control your mood
are regulated during acupuncture, improving your mood and making you feel happier.
Weight loss: Between the deep fried, fatty, salty foods that are easily accessible, there is temptation
around every corner. Not only can this make it hard for people to lose weight, it can make it hard for
people to maintain the weight they are at, whether they consider themselves obese or average.
Acupuncture helps control food cravings, boosts metabolism and improve digestion, which can all
lead to you shedding those unwanted pounds in no time.
Immune system: Battling of a cold or infection is almost impossible when you have a weak immune
system. Some people even get sick three or four times a year because their immune system just isn t as
strong as it should be. If you haven t tried acupuncture, it could greatly improve your immune system
by boosting cell activity and giving your immune system the strength it needs to keep you healthy and

Critical Thinking Essay
INTRODUCTION Critical thinking has been defined in great depth over thousands of years yet
comparison of many of these definitions show the emphasis alters between what characteristic is
deemed most important for each individual. However the definition alters, the same three important
principles are always included: scepticism, open mindedness and objectivity. It is important for each
individual to conclude his or her own definition of critical thinking to enable a specific authenticity
that equates to an individuals academic work. This essay will show that while the true meaning of
critical thinking doesn t change, adapting a personal definition is vital for success in higher education
and life skills. CRITICAL THINKING ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each individual revisiting the definition of critical thinking draws from varied areas of importance in
order to validate in turn, their individual work. There are three important principles that underpin
critical thinking: scepticism, open mindedness and objectivity. Each principle is important in its own
right yet is required to work conjointly to achieve a logical, balanced argument. Scepticism is required
to authenticate relevant evidence and validate the source, it should never be assumed that a person of
authority has delivered the information in print.(Burton 2006:45) Open mindedness is remaining
impartial and being prepared to accept evidence which conflicts with personal beliefs while
considering all opinions.(Burton 2006 45 46) Objectivity is perceiving the argument while
disregarding all emotional responses. STRATEGIES FOR CRITICAL THINKING Students need to
have specific strategies when they undertake a critical thinking approach to reading information
sources and writing answers to essay questions. The main strategies are to determine the validity of
sources information, to identify fact and opinion, to uncover persuasive techniques of the writer, and
to detect bias or prejudice. One important critical thinking strategy to develop in order to maintain
academic integrity, is determining the validity of sources of information. Investigating the history

Free Market Economy Vs Capitalism
Over the centuries, society has debated the most effective and economical methods to solving poverty
within politics and government. This debate has carried over into the Christian community as well,
with modern day Christians falling into two categories: those who are for free market enterprise,
capitalism, and those who agree with the redistribution of wealth, socialism/communism, for fixing
the problem of poverty. In looking at both sides of the argument, it can be determined that there is a
decidedly faith based approach to understanding the intersection of politics and economics. One could
even argue that the failure to view politics and economics through a Christian perspective can have
hazardous consequences. When mankind seeks to repair ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This side favors a more socialistic/communisticoutlook arguing for more government intervention and

reality the system is ineffectual. Samuel Gregg addresses this point in his critique of Democratic
presidential candidate Bernie Sanders remarking on Sanders lack of attention to other factors of
poverty such as ...family breakdown, single parent households, and mental illness. Addressing these
issues requires much more than just giving people more material things, and often has little to do with
economic inequality. They often require moral, even spiritual solutions. Those who subscribe to the
quixotic ideals of socialism disregard the rights of the individual to ownership. Communism works
much in the same manner attributing the source of evil to the institution of private

The Impact Of Globalization On Business Activity...
Globalisation, in the most basic sense, could be defined as the growth of business activity
communications and movements of individuals over the national, political and geographic boundaries
(Johnson et al. 2014). According to Hill, there are two main facets of globalization, includes
globalization of markets and production (Hill, Cronk, Wickramasekera, 2014). The historically
different and distinctive national markets are integrating into a single huge global marketplace in
which the perceptions and preferences of customers in different countries are beginning to unite as a
single global standard; examples are McDonald s hamburger (US), IKEA furniture (Sweden). The
globalization of production allow firms to locate products and services from different sites around the
globe in an attempt to make benefits of dissimilarities in the price and quality of elements of
production, thus allowing them to compete more efficiently against their competitors; an example is
Boeing s 777 and 787 Dreamliner commercial aircrafts (Hill, Cronk, Wickramasekera, 2014).
According to Hill, globalisation is occurring because the advances in technology that have allowed
people, goods, resources, money and data to travel around the globe from different locations faster
than before; moreover, the reductions in trade and investment barriers have significantly increased
business activities between states. The theory also states that there are two key drivers of
globalization, includes the declining in

The Watchman As A Hero In Alan Moore s Watchmen
A cornerstone work in the world of graphic novels, Alan Moore s Watchmen provides a rich plot for
readers while pushing them to question the world in which they live. One such question suggested by
the text is what it means to be a hero or a good guy , and to what extent bad acts are redeemable.
Through the Comedian, Moore provides a character who skirts the line between good and evil in that
he uses aggressive methods for achieving his goals, but is still considered a hero. Furthermore, the
Comedian, also known as Edward Blake, though not the only overly violent hero, is most always cast
in a negative light, with few redeeming qualities, suggesting that the small good he does is not enough
to outweigh the bad.
The identity of the Comedian is slowly revealed through the course of the book, with several key
scenes demonstrating his twisted worldview. One of the first sources of characterization is his
attempted rape of Silk Spectre. At that point in time, no other source of identity has been given, so for
the duration of the novel, the reader must absorb all new information knowing the evil he is capable
of, and has committed. In providing a negative first impression of the Comedian, Moore forces readers
to subconsciously interpret any new information presented about him in a dark light, and in doing so,
suggests that redemption is not possible for Blake. In addition, the juxtaposition of Blake as a hero
who first appears as a rapist forces the reader to take into question

A new infrastructure will have to be made if gas cars are replaced with electric cars.

Summary For Babysitting
Our business is a babysitting, or childcare, which is ran by Sophia Warren and Michael Matthews.
This business is intended to be a side job for extra money in college, not a full time job. Sophia will
work as the secretary, responsible for scheduling babysitting appointments, contacting customers, and
recording customer emergency contact information. Matthew will be the treasurer, managing all the
profits, paying the loan payment, and in addition be responsible for all advertising. The profits and
losses will be split evenly at 50% each.
The service is targeted towards parents who need child care. We will need a $200 loan from the bank
to pay for child care classes to be certified and more trustworthy, which costs about 50 dollars each. In
addition we will use the remaining 100 dollars to buy entertainment to bring for the kids. This is a four
dollar monthly payment on the loan. For our services, we will charge 7.50 dollars per hour to watch
the kids. Also, will not be hiring any employees because we are keeping the business small, dividing
the jobs evenly between us. We will be able to work out of our homes, because we will go to the

Lewis Base Research
Description
Everyday, we encounter solutions that can be classified as bases. What exactly is a base? A scientist
named Gilbert N. Lewis came up with the definition of a basic solution, which we now refer to as a
Lewis base, which we will discuss in this lesson.
!!!What Is a Lewis Base?
What makes a solution a base? Bases are solutions that are generally described as bitter and slippery
or slimy feeling. However, how can we tell in an acid base chemical reaction, which chemical
compound is a base? There are various definitions from different scientists on what a base is. In 1923,
a scientist named Gilbert N. Lewis came up with a definition of a base. This definition of a base is
now referred to as a Lewis base.

The anion (negatively charged hydroxide ion) acts as a Lewis base
!!!Lesson Summary
In 1923, Gilbert N. Lewis came up with the definition base, which we now refer to as Lewis base. A
__Lewis base__ is a compound that is an electron pair donor or a nucleophile, which is a substance
that donates electrons. In an acid base reaction, we can recognize the Lewis base as the compound that
donates its nonbonding electrons.
Lewis bases are typically compounds that contain nonbonding pairs. Phosphine (PH3), organic
compounds containing phosphorus (P), amines and anions act as Lewis bases because nonbonding
pairs are present in these compounds. These nonbonding pairs of electrons are then donated in an acid
base chemical reaction.

Facilitating Change in Health and Social Care Essay
Introduction
This essay seeks to discuss the factors that facilitate change in health and social care. This can be
achieved by assessing the challenges that the major factors of change bring using the Care Quality
Commission of the Quality Care Commission for the Royal United Hospital Bath NHS Trust (RUHB).
The second task aims to evaluate contemporary changes being inaugurated in the provision of health
and social care services. In addition to this, a strategy and criteria will be devised in order to measure
these recent changes including how the impact of these changes can be measured and evaluated.

The NHS Operating Framework introduced by the coalition government sets out the planning and
financial requirements for RUHB in 2012/13 and the basis of their accountability (DH, 2012). As a
result, the 2013 certified that funding for health in England be frozen for up 2015/16 thereby requiring
RUBH to underspend allocated funding from the government such as putting a 1% cap on pay award.
Socially, this will include factors such as behavior of staff and service users, partnership working,
quality of care, etc. These factors can drive change in diverse ways in the RUHB. For example, the
NICE Guidelines on Behavior Change make recommendations on individual level behavior
interventions that is aimed at changing the behavior that can be dangerous to the health of staff and
service users such as smoking, alcohol abuse, lack of physical activity, safe sex, etc. (NICE, 2014).
Technologically, the introduction of information communication technology has resulted in faster
communication, appropriate storing and sharing of information and records of service users between
health and social care professionals. As a result of the CQC inspection, the RUHB revises their health
records management policy to more accurately reflect where information about service user such as
fluid intake and output in each ward should be recorded (CQC Report, 2013)

The Anatomy And Physiology Of The Eye
The human eye is a wonderful organ enabling us to perform all our daily tasks. The sense of sight
allows to do almost all activities. There are countless activities including studying, cooking, driving,
or playing an instrument. Other tasks that vision is helpful for would be communicating, working,
making life a lot easier, which are very essential. Most people would agree that vision is more
valuable than the rest. The eyes allow us to interpret colors and shapes. This happens after a long
complex process, starting from the reflect of light on the objects to the eyes and ends up in the brain as
images. Having a healthy eye is very important and improves the quality of a person s life. In this

The other two portions in this layer are the choroid, the posterior and vascular portion which supplies
blood to all layers and the ciliary body which is a ring of muscles around the lens used to focus the
lens. The lens has a flexible structure that can change shape to precisely focus light on the retina. The
Retina is the very interior layer which consists of two layers. The pigmented outer layer which absorbs
light and prevents scattering. And the Neural layer composed of bipolar cells, ganglion cells and two
types of photoreceptors.
The eye is protected by a cushion of fat and a bony orbit surrounding the eye s anterior part. There are
also accessory structures that protect the eye and help maintain the eye s function. These accessory
structures include the eyelids, eyebrows, lacrimal apparatus, conjunctiva, and the extrinsic eye
muscles. The eyebrows function is to shade the eye from sunlight and keep out perspiration from
reaching the eye. The eyelids contains the nerves that initiate reflex blinking, and protects the eye s
anterior part, because it contains eyelashes at the edges, which prevents debris or small particles like

Morally Ambiguous Character Essay
What are morally ambiguous characters? Characters that cannot be identified as purely evil or purely
good based upon their actions and behaviors. Nancy, in the novel Oliver Twist, represents the perfect
paradigm for a morally ambiguous character. As of the other characters, morality dissipated as their
selfish desires became high in demand. Charles Dickens, the author, depicted Nancy as a prostitute, a
product of her environment. Her dealings with a number of the wrong people leads to her to indulge in
criminal activity. Throughout the story Dickens reveals Nancy s unraveling internal conflict with
morality, ultimately leading her to help Oliver, whom she dies for trying to protect.
All the people Nancy surrounded herself with were corrupted. Bill Sikes, the man she loved and
stayed loyal to the most, was a common criminal. Fagin, Jack Dawkins, and Charles Bates were also
common criminals. The two younger boys, Jack Dawkins and Charles Bates were pocket pickers, who
stole handkerchiefs and gave them to Fagin to resell. Bill Sikes, Nancy s lover, was a violent, abusive,
bilious, fastidious, mendacious miscreant who hectored all those ... Show more content on

Looking at her actions and behavior, there is a change. She went from a purely evil and corrupted
character, to a character full of morality, remorse, and sorrow. In many ways Nancy counteracted the
evil deeds she had done. Prime example, she assisted Sikes in the kidnapping of Oliver, however she
also aided in his protection. If she hadn t had a change of heart to do what was morally right, she
would have never defended Oliver against Fagin; met with Rose on the London Bridge whom she
shared vital information with about Monks; Oliver would have never gotten back to Mr. Brownlow or
seen the Maylies again; she would have never been brutally murdered by Sikes; she would not have
repented and prayed and been broken free of the heinous lifestyle she was forced to

Leonardo Da Vinci And The Government
This is a universal truth that majority of artist are not earning substantial income, and consequently to
carry out their creativity ought to gain endowment from government. I agree to the statement, that
government is expected to support the artists beside the fact to give them quality of life and save
culture, as well to encourage them to provide a stable neighbourhood. The artists are empowered with
creativity and vision, who creates an extreme simplification of a complex thing. Owning such
capabilities still not deliver a handsome income for survival. No one had visualize that they can fly
like birds, a great artist Leonardo Da Vinci conceive the concept of an aeroplane, an armour vehicle
and paddle powered water vessel and portray it.

Cavalry At Gettysburg
Blue and Grey, the Cavalry at Gettysburg The cavalry, an army component mounted on horseback, has
been used by many nations and armies throughout the history of the world. Some have utilized the
cavalry with tremendous success, while others have over looked the value that they could bring to the
battlefield. The American Civil War as a whole has been scrutinized and diagnosed through
generations of warfighters and historians in an effort to shed light on what was successful and what
had failed. Before the battle at Gettysburg the Confederate States of America s cavalry under the
command of Major General James E. B. Stuart had proved its merit in several engagements in the
early years of the war. This success allowed the Confederate General ... Show more content on

The morning of 2 July did not leave those in Colonel Devin s 2ND Brigade unengaged as they were
held on the front lines from early morning until past noon. Though the fighting continued, General
Buford requested to be allowed to go to the rear for an extensive refit (Longacre, 1986, p. 205). With
only the 9TH New York Cavalry left to support the infantry and protect the flank of the Union Army s
III Corps, General Buford and his division marched to the rear of the Union s lines. This was not the
first questionable decision made by Union commanders during the battle. The multiple conflicting
orders that Brigadier General David McMurtrie Gregg, Commanding General of the 2ND Division,
Cavalry Corps, received from Major General Alfred Pleasonton, the Commanding General of the
Union Cavalry Corps. Those orders regarding the movement of his division though merely reflecting
the uncertainties of the developing campaign, the dispatches harassed Gregg s troopers almost beyond
endurance (Longacre, 1986, p. 203). When General Gregg s division arrived to the battlefield his men
engaged the Confederates at Brinkerhoff s Ridge. This effort stalled Ewell s advance yet again, and
did not allow them from engaging in further assaults on Culp s Hill and East Cemetery

Describe Realistic Strategies That Canadians Could Take to...
Describe realistic strategies that Canadians could take to reduce their negative impact on land, water
and the atmosphere.
Ever since the dawn of industrialization, humans have caused serious, irreversible damage to the
biosphere. And as the world progresses and Canadians looks on, they realized the impact of their
environmental damage. Sometimes new ecofriendly technology enters the market and replaces the old
environment damaging one. But that is not enough, human society as a whole must completely rethink
and change themselves individually to so that their actions causes minimal environmental backlash.
Though the problem of environmental damage is a global one, there is nothing stopping Canadians
from solving it in their own ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Simple everyday things for Canadians to reduce water consumption would to fix leaky faucets, take
shorter showers, and turn off the tap when they brush their teeth. Other courses of action for people
would be to install toilets that use less water per flush and for the government, they could start to tax
people for water usage. Some strategies to farmers would be to use drip irrigation systems, which
deliver water directly to the plants roots. The atmosphere is another important component of the
biosphere. Every day, countless cars and factories releases greenhouse gases and pollutes it. A simple
strategy would be do not use cars. Instead of driving, people can bike to work or even walk there. In
fact, carpooling and taking public transit would create less atmospheric pollution than an individual
driving their own car. In addition, people can buy locally grown foods to reduce their greenhouse
footprint . By buying locally grown foods, it supports local businesses as well reduces emissions
because the food traveled shorter distances. And finally, eco activists and even concerned folks can
hire lobbyists to exert pressure on the government to create environmental policies that help to protect
the atmosphere. As the world looks on, people start to realize that the problem of environmental
pollution is a global

Gender In Sports Analysis Essay
Introduction I decided to attend a women s volleyball match at the University of Colorado at Boulder
for my sport related event. Last Sunday, October 2nd, CU s women s volleyball team faced UCLA.
Both teams are ranked in the top 25 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll
therefore I thought it would be an exciting match to attend. In addition, as a student of the university I
had never attended a women s volleyball game, which is alarming considering that I am a senior. The
reason I knew about the women s volleyball team playing is because of an e mail I received from the
university earlier in the week. The blast e mail read that our women s volleyball team was now ranked
#20 in the AVCA poll for Division I NCAA women s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was seen in action during my attendance of CU women s volleyball game. The attendance
numbers at Coors Event Center on Sunday during the women s volleyball game was minimal in
comparison to the attendance seen at men s basketball games at the same venue. Coakley (2015)
discusses the gender inequities at the college level by stating they continue to lack the support that
boys sports enjoy (p. 494). The social dynamic of support or lack thereof in women s sports is still
evident, which was seen at the sporting event I attended. It was unfortunate to see that an institution or
the student body does not support a team of theirs that is ranked in the top

Resist Much, Obey Little
Resist Much, Obey Little Kenneth M. Price asserts that Walt Whitman is a foundational figure in
American culture. This statement certainly holds true, as the transcendental father of free verse gained
his place as one of the 19th century s greatest American writers after self publishing his most
renowned work, Leaves of Grass, multiple times, each time with added pieces and revisions of
previous ones. The novel, inclusive of his widely recognized poem Song of Myself , composed of fifty
two sections, is considered an American landmark in literature. The collection offers profound,
universal ideas dealing with significant transcendental concepts such as self love, nonconformity
within a society, the ideas that God exists within everything and beyond, and that true comprehension
of life involves true appreciation of nature. Prior to his rapid gain of literary recognition, Whitman
volunteered as a nurse for the Civil War for three years. His experiences at the hospital inspired
numerous poetry and prose pieces, and he soon became certain that he could construct more pieces out
of his life changing encounters with wounded soldiers. Walt Whitman s distinct style and technique
presented in his work always leads back to the highly significant transcendental principle of
nonconformity.
A major theme that Walt Whitman conveys throughout his work is that experience is more important
than education. One way in which Whitman demonstrates this idea is in When I Heard the Learn d

How Magento 2 Continues Move Forward Toward Its...
Magento 2 continues to move forward toward its anticipated final release in Q4 2015. Since the
installation on a local stack is complex, faithful users are curious to know if the update process will
run efficiently. Based on Magento s announcement, the company is working with select merchants to
test Magento 2 in real world situations‐an indicator that they re confident in the code base. The
merchant beta program is intended to fully vet the platform. The company has enlisted a variety of
merchants across multiple industries and regions, and of various sizes and complexity, to ensure we
are testing across varied set of use cases. Peter Sheldon, vice president and eCommerce technology
analyst at Forrester Research Inc., says, Magento is one of the jewels in the portfolio, and I would
expect the private equity consortium to not only continue with all committed resources but likely
increase the resources. The new Magento version is being designed with more features for B2B as
well as retail websites. It s popular among a number of manufacturers, wholesalers, and distributors.
For example, boxing goods manufacturer Everlast Worldwide Inc. relaunched its website this year on
Magento Enterprise to offer better functionality for its online customers. Everlast director of
eCommerce Mike Ebert says that Magento also supports responsive design, which delivers the
company s web content properly on mobile and desktop screens. After a long wait, Magento 2.0 is

Sarah Williams Poem The Old Astronomer
Quotations about nights 1. I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night ~ Sarah
Williams Renowned English poet and novelist Sarah Williams quoted this line in her poem, The Old
Astronomer . The dying protagonist in the poem gives a final advice to his student to not give up and
continue on his journey fearlessly. The poet has used the night and stars to give out the message that
nothing in the world should be feared, and that, there is a good side to even the worst possible things.
What makes a difference is our perspective towards it. We should be courageous and try not to pay
attention to the stereotypical grim image of something, but rather should look at the brighter side of
the picture and form our own opinions. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Of course nights are when the turmoil we faced the whole day takes a toll on us and our fatigue levels
are at peak. But nights are also when we just let go and go with the flow. It is when we take our heart
in our hands and do not consider thinking about things so much. We just let go of the things we keep
hiding from the world the whole day, and let it all out. Very often, late night hours are considered as
hours when the most honest confessions are made. So, some truths can only be revealed when it is
dark, rather than in the bright daylight. 4. I like the night. Without the night, we would never see the
stars ~Stephenie Meyer The line quoted by the author known for her vampire romance series called
Twilight depicts her love towards the nights as nights are the time when there are stars and the moon,
symbols of peace and beauty. A night out with the stars above accompanied by the pale moonlight is
enough to get rid of all the melancholy and commotion of the day. Metaphorically too, one who has
witnessed the darkness and silence of the night beneath the moon and the stars and never paid
attention to how beautiful it is, he or she would be missing out on one of the most marvelous creations
of God. 5. Night is the other half of life, and the better half ~Johann Wolfgang von

A Closer Look at Mimas Essay
The Saturn Moon Mimas Mimas is an inner moon of Saturn and is the innermost of the major moons,
which are Enceliadus, Tethys, Dione, Rhea, Titan, Hyperion, Iapetus, and Phoebe. Mimas has a crater
named the Herschel Crater, which is approximately 88 miles and one third the diameter of Mimas. The
walls of the Herschel Crater are approximately 3 miles high and parts of the floor of the crater range
approximately 6 miles deep. The central peak towers of the Herschel Crater on Mimas are almost 4
miles above the floor of the crater. To imagine this crater on Earth, it would be around 4,000
kilometers. A English astronomer named William Herschel, had been using his 40 foot reflector
telescope when he had made the discovery of Mimas on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This close orbit means that Mimas probably has received several times the rate of collisions as the
collisions of other moons of Saturn. Mimas and another Saturn moon, Rhea, have been called the most
heavily cratered bodies in the Solar System. It is believed that the craters on Mimas have been around
since the beginning of the Solar System. Mimas is so heavily cratered that new impacts will overwrite
the old craters that were created in the past. There just is not a part of the Mimas that has not been
pounded by impacts. Mimas being closer to Saturn is what kept it from being heavily cratered
compared to Saturn s other moon Rhea. Results of the crater impacts are hard to detect due to Mimas
being a warmer and consequently softer moon, which over a period of time its earlier features had
faded away as a result of this. The older bigger craters can still be seen, even with all the impacts the
moon has received. Most of the surface on Mimas is saturated with impact craters, which the range in
size is greater than 25 miles in diameter. But no others are nearly as large as the well known crater
Herschel. This suggests that early in its history, Mimas was probably impacted by even larger bodies
than the one that had created Herschel, which had completely disrupted the new moon, wiping

Narrative Essay On School Day In School
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! Lexie looked at the clock, alarmed at what she saw. It was 6:30 and she has
overslept her alarms. She jumped out of bed, throwing all her blankets on the ground and ran into the
ice cold, frigid shower giving it no time to warm up. Even though she was hurrying, she was not
looking forward to another school day. When she got out she brushed her dark brown hair, which took
a half an hour to dry because of its long length. She then got dressed first putting on her dark blue,
holy, Hollister Jeans that barely made it to the ankles of her long legs. Next, she put on her favorite
black scarf that felt like cotton along with a white sweater underneath. Lexie! her mom screamed, Get
down here or you re going to miss the bus! Lexie grabbed her backpack and ran down the steps and
out the door, knocking down everything in her way. She sprinted to her bus stop and jumped in as the
doors were halfway closed. She sat in seat 15 like she always did with her best friend, Isabelle. She
had long red hair, brighter than an apple that seemed to glow in the bright lights in the morning
sunrise. She also had long legs that came up unusually high when sitting in the small bus seats. Her
bright blue eyes shined like the ocean even in the foggy morning. They rode to school, talking quietly
and laughing nonstop. When they got to school, they parted ways and said their goodbyes as they
started another normal, boring school day. As the day went on, she finally got to the class

due to gang violence. One thing really surprised me after viewing the crime map was that there is no
crime activities happened in Monterey Park and Alhambra, where most of the Chinese live. I checked

areas. I was shocked by the number differences of death in these

Scepticism is required to authenticate relevant evidence and validate the source, it should never be assumed that a person of authority has delivered the information in print.(Burton 2006:45) Open mindedness is remaining impartial and being prepared to accept evidence which conflicts with personal beliefs while considering all opinions.(Burton 2006 45 46) Objectivity is perceiving the argument while disregarding all emotional responses. This debate has carried over into the Christian community as well, with modern day Christians falling into two categories: those who are for free market enterprise, capitalism, and those who agree with the redistribution of wealth, socialism/communism, for fixing the problem of poverty. • 12. The Impact Of Globalization On Business Activity... Globalisation, in the most basic sense, could be defined as the growth of business activity communications and movements of individuals over the national, political and geographic boundaries (Johnson et al. 2014). According to Hill, there are two main facets of globalization, includes globalization of markets and production (Hill, Cronk, Wickramasekera, 2014). The historically different and distinctive national markets are integrating into a single huge global marketplace in which the perceptions and preferences of customers in different countries are beginning to unite as a single global standard; examples are McDonald s hamburger (US), IKEA furniture (Sweden). The globalization of production allow firms to locate products and services from different sites around the globe in an attempt to make benefits of dissimilarities in the price and quality of elements of production, thus allowing them to compete more efficiently against their competitors; an example is Boeing s 777 and 787 Dreamliner commercial aircrafts (Hill, Cronk, Wickramasekera, 2014). • 13. The Watchman As A Hero In Alan Moore s Watchmen A cornerstone work in the world of graphic novels, Alan Moore s Watchmen provides a rich plot for readers while pushing them to question the world in which they live. One such question suggested by the text is what it means to be a hero or a good guy , and to what extent bad acts are redeemable. Through the Comedian, Moore provides a character who skirts the line between good and evil in that he uses aggressive methods for achieving his goals, but is still considered a hero. Furthermore, the Comedian, also known as Edward Blake, though not the only overly violent hero, is most always cast in a negative light, with few redeeming qualities, suggesting that the small good he does is not enough to outweigh the bad. The identity of the Comedian is slowly revealed through the course of the book, with several key scenes demonstrating his twisted worldview. One of the first sources of characterization is his attempted rape of Silk Spectre. At that point in time, no other source of identity has been given, so for the duration of the novel, the reader must absorb all new information knowing the evil he is capable of, and has committed. In providing a negative first impression of the Comedian, Moore forces readers to subconsciously interpret any new information presented about him in a dark light, and in doing so, suggests that redemption is not possible for Blake. In addition, the juxtaposition of Blake as a hero who first appears as a rapist forces the reader to take into question ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. Morally Ambiguous Character Essay What are morally ambiguous characters? Characters that cannot be identified as purely evil or purely good based upon their actions and behaviors. Nancy, in the novel Oliver Twist, represents the perfect paradigm for a morally ambiguous character. As of the other characters, morality dissipated as their selfish desires became high in demand. Charles Dickens, the author, depicted Nancy as a prostitute, a product of her environment. Her dealings with a number of the wrong people leads to her to indulge in criminal activity. Throughout the story Dickens reveals Nancy s unraveling internal conflict with morality, ultimately leading her to help Oliver, whom she dies for trying to protect. All the people Nancy surrounded herself with were corrupted. Bill Sikes, the man she loved and stayed loyal to the most, was a common criminal. Fagin, Jack Dawkins, and Charles Bates were also common criminals. The two younger boys, Jack Dawkins and Charles Bates were pocket pickers, who stole handkerchiefs and gave them to Fagin to resell. Bill Sikes, Nancy s lover, was a violent, abusive, bilious, fastidious, mendacious miscreant who hectored all those ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Looking at her actions and behavior, there is a change. She went from a purely evil and corrupted character, to a character full of morality, remorse, and sorrow. In many ways Nancy counteracted the evil deeds she had done. Prime example, she assisted Sikes in the kidnapping of Oliver, however she also aided in his protection. If she hadn t had a change of heart to do what was morally right, she would have never defended Oliver against Fagin; met with Rose on the London Bridge whom she shared vital information with about Monks; Oliver would have never gotten back to Mr. Brownlow or seen the Maylies again; she would have never been brutally murdered by Sikes; she would not have repented and prayed and been broken free of the heinous lifestyle she was forced to ... Some have utilized the cavalry with tremendous success, while others have over looked the value that they could bring to the battlefield. The American Civil War as a whole has been scrutinized and diagnosed through generations of warfighters and historians in an effort to shed light on what was successful and what had failed. Ever since the dawn of industrialization, humans have caused serious, irreversible damage to the biosphere. And as the world progresses and Canadians looks on, they realized the impact of their environmental damage. Sometimes new ecofriendly technology enters the market and replaces the old environment damaging one. Other courses of action for people would be to install toilets that use less water per flush and for the government, they could start to tax people for water usage. Some strategies to farmers would be to use drip irrigation systems, which deliver water directly to the plants roots. The atmosphere is another important component of the biosphere. Every day, countless cars and factories releases greenhouse gases and pollutes it. A simple strategy would be do not use cars. Instead of driving, people can bike to work or even walk there. In fact, carpooling and taking public transit would create less atmospheric pollution than an individual driving their own car. In addition, people can buy locally grown foods to reduce their greenhouse footprint . By buying locally grown foods, it supports local businesses as well reduces emissions because the food traveled shorter distances. • 28. Resist Much, Obey Little Resist Much, Obey Little Kenneth M. Price asserts that Walt Whitman is a foundational figure in American culture. This statement certainly holds true, as the transcendental father of free verse gained his place as one of the 19th century s greatest American writers after self publishing his most renowned work, Leaves of Grass, multiple times, each time with added pieces and revisions of previous ones. The novel, inclusive of his widely recognized poem Song of Myself , composed of fifty two sections, is considered an American landmark in literature. The collection offers profound, universal ideas dealing with significant transcendental concepts such as self love, nonconformity within a society, the ideas that God exists within everything and beyond, and that true comprehension of life involves true appreciation of nature. Prior to his rapid gain of literary recognition, Whitman volunteered as a nurse for the Civil War for three years. His experiences at the hospital inspired numerous poetry and prose pieces, and he soon became certain that he could construct more pieces out of his life changing encounters with wounded soldiers. Walt Whitman s distinct style and technique presented in his work always leads back to the highly significant transcendental principle of nonconformity. A major theme that Walt Whitman conveys throughout his work is that experience is more important than education. One way in which Whitman demonstrates this idea is in When I Heard the Learn d ... I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night ~ Sarah Williams Renowned English poet and novelist Sarah Williams quoted this line in her poem, The Old Astronomer . The dying protagonist in the poem gives a final advice to his student to not give up and continue on his journey fearlessly. The poet has used the night and stars to give out the message that nothing in the world should be feared, and that, there is a good side to even the worst possible things. What makes a difference is our perspective towards it. We should be courageous and try not to pay attention to the stereotypical grim image of something, but rather should look at the brighter side of the picture and form our own opinions. This ... But nights are also when we just let go and go with the flow. It is when we take our heart in our hands and do not consider thinking about things so much. We just let go of the things we keep hiding from the world the whole day, and let it all out. Very often, late night hours are considered as hours when the most honest confessions are made. So, some truths can only be revealed when it is dark, rather than in the bright daylight. 4. I like the night. Without the night, we would never see the stars ~Stephenie Meyer The line quoted by the author known for her vampire romance series called Twilight depicts her love towards the nights as nights are the time when there are stars and the moon, symbols of peace and beauty. A night out with the stars above accompanied by the pale moonlight is enough to get rid of all the melancholy and commotion of the day. Metaphorically too, one who has witnessed the darkness and silence of the night beneath the moon and the stars and never paid attention to how beautiful it is, he or she would be missing out on one of the most marvelous creations of God. 5. A Closer Look at Mimas Essay The Saturn Moon Mimas Mimas is an inner moon of Saturn and is the innermost of the major moons, which are Enceliadus, Tethys, Dione, Rhea, Titan, Hyperion, Iapetus, and Phoebe. Mimas has a crater named the Herschel Crater, which is approximately 88 miles and one third the diameter of Mimas. The walls of the Herschel Crater are approximately 3 miles high and parts of the floor of the crater range approximately 6 miles deep. The central peak towers of the Herschel Crater on Mimas are almost 4 miles above the floor of the crater. To imagine this crater on Earth, it would be around 4,000 kilometers. This close orbit means that Mimas probably has received several times the rate of collisions as the collisions of other moons of Saturn. Mimas and another Saturn moon, Rhea, have been called the most heavily cratered bodies in the Solar System. It is believed that the craters on Mimas have been around since the beginning of the Solar System. Mimas is so heavily cratered that new impacts will overwrite the old craters that were created in the past. There just is not a part of the Mimas that has not been pounded by impacts. Mimas being closer to Saturn is what kept it from being heavily cratered compared to Saturn s other moon Rhea. Results of the crater impacts are hard to detect due to Mimas being a warmer and consequently softer moon, which over a period of time its earlier features had faded away as a result of this. The older bigger craters can still be seen, even with all the impacts the moon has received. Most of the surface on Mimas is saturated with impact craters, which the range in size is greater than 25 miles in diameter. But no others are nearly as large as the well known crater Herschel. This suggests that early in its history, Mimas was probably impacted by even larger bodies than the one that had created Herschel, which had completely disrupted the new moon, wiping ... Even though she was hurrying, she was not looking forward to another school day. When she got out she brushed her dark brown hair, which took a half an hour to dry because of its long length. She then got dressed first putting on her dark blue, holy, Hollister Jeans that barely made it to the ankles of her long legs.
