2. We had asked the audience to watch a range
of horror trailers of films that they might have
seen and created a survey for them to give
their thoughts and opinions about it. The
feedback we had gotten back will help us
apply these results to own own trailer to try
and guarantee our own target audience will
watch the film.
3. The first thing we had asked the audience
is their age, most of which are teens aged
15-24. This is useful because it shows that
it is mainly a young age group which
chose to watch horror films compared to
the other age groups, we can try to apply
our film to our target audience who
coincidentally are the age of around 15-
24.
4. We have also asked them on their opinions of
what they think of the horror. According to these
results, the majority (56%) state that they do
enjoy watching horrors. However, there are those
who do not enjoy watching or generally don't
mind watching them. We cannot have our trailer
appeal to those who do not wish to watch it
therefore we must make sure that we stick with
out own target audience if our film is to be
successful. We should try to appeal to those who
don’t mind watching horror trailers by creating
also attempting to appeal to the general public to
an extent as well as the chosen
5. We had shown the audience the titles of the
film trailers that they have watched and asked
them to vote for the one that they liked the
best. According to these results, the audience
have preferred Final Destination. The film
itself has a series of twists and turns which
challenges the audiences expectations on
what could happen in the film. We must
apply this to our own film in order to gain the
same response as the reason to why they
have picked Final Destination
6. We had asked them which horror film
theme they feel is the best for them.
The majority state that it is revenge that
is the best. This is good because our
theme for our horror involves the killer
trying to get revenge on the teens for
killing the girl that they had hit. This
may attract the attention of the general
public as well as our own target
audience.
7. Lastly, we then asked them, out of the choices
we had for our film title, which film title
sounds the best to them. Out of the majority,
they have decided the title penitence. The
title is chosen without much of the film being
given away from the title as well as it relating
to what the stock characters are feeling after
they had accidentally killed the girl. The other
titles seem to give away certain elements of
the film making it sound quite predictable o
what could happen. Penitence is a word that
isn't’ heard very often, in which leaves aspects
of enigmas for the audience on what they film
could be about.
