The City Council meeting agenda included an item to consider a Comprehensive Plan Amendment for the Whitt Tract property. The property owner requested changing the designation from Estate/Single Family to Commercial. Staff recommended approval based on the surrounding development patterns of residential, commercial, institutional and agricultural uses. Further development may require sewer improvements and right of way dedication. The amendment was consistent with the Comprehensive Plan and the Wellborn Community Plan. If approved, the property could be zoned Wellborn Commercial allowing uses such as retail, restaurants, offices and personal services under certain size limits.
