The Living with the Bay project aims to address storm surge flooding and water management in the Mill River Watershed from Bay Park to Rockville Centre. It involves green infrastructure like greenways, bioswales, underground storage, and marshland restoration. The project was expanded from its original focus on a single park to a comprehensive watershed approach. It is organized into three sections - northern focusing on freshwater and water quality, middle on storm surge and stormwater, and southern on marshland restoration. The Citizens Advisory Committee provides community input and the project involves numerous municipal, state, and nonprofit partners.
