Sturgeon County is updating its municipal development plan to align with the Edmonton Metropolitan Board's growth plan amendments from March 2019, which include policies for the Sturgeon Valley Special Study Area. A new area structure plan is being developed for a region where four communities converge, and this plan will consider land use and development opportunities. Additionally, the existing 1999 valley area structure plan will be amended to reflect these changes.
