Flexera Software is hosting their annual SoftSummit conference from October 11-13, 2010 in San Jose, CA. The agenda includes a business update from Flexera's CEO, a discussion of trends driving application usage management, and how Flexera's solutions address software producers' and enterprises' challenges in monetizing applications and optimizing license usage in today's changing technology landscape.
Drive incremental revenue from innovative software license modelsFlexera
In this demonstration, Jim Berthold, Principal Solutions Engineer with Flexera Software discusses how software vendors and device manufacturers can drive incremental revenue from innovative software licensing models with FlexNet Licensing and FlexNet Operations. He discusses how vendors can drive between 10-200% more revenue and successfully expand into new markets by aligning pricing and licensing with customer value. He demonstrates how subscription, term and usage-based license models have helped many vendors capture incremental revenue, expand into new markets and reduce sales time and cost.

It’s especially important to recognize that there is no universal answer to the question “Which deployment model is best?” as each customer presents unique business and technical
requirements and abilities. The purpose of this document isn’t to provide absolute answers, but rather to arm readers with additional (and perhaps better) questions to assist in their own internal evaluation of deployment options. This is an especially important conversation for potential (and existing) Epicor customers because of our unique position in offering Epicor ERP across multiplelicensing and deployment options.

Intuit Siebel-Salesforce Interoperation Case StudyPanviva
Intuit was looking to provide a great sales experience for its 3,500 Sales and Customer Care agents. In order to achieve this, Intuit needed to reduce significant pain points challenging call center agents, including: too many screens and steps to create a quote, having to work between multiple systems to complete an order, having to wait for the two systems to synchronize, problems with data field requirements / validation errors, and overall system instability. Intuit’s call center agents have described their experience with the legacy system as: “Time Consuming. Complex. Complicated and Painful”.
The new architecture enabled by the aMind Web Framework and the aMind Enterprise API Accelerator integrated Intuit’s legacy Siebel CRM application with Salesforce to expose Siebel Order Management capabilities seamlessly within the Salesforce UI and enable deeper integration between the two systems. The end result was described as "Simple to Use, Intuitive, Faster than Siebel and Awesome."

Bug deBug Chennai 2012 Talk - Future of testing impact of mobile devices by S...RIA RUI Society
Over last couple of years, mobile devices have shown a phenomenal growth, at the same time PC industry is on a declining path. Due to this, we are experiencing a paradigm shift on how applications are built, tested, and used by the end users, and has a potential to create a disruption in the tradition way of software development and QA. Though it started with consumers, enterprises are also embracing mobility more and more, especially after the stupendous success of iPad. At the same time enterprises are also facing challenges in the area of provisioning, data management, device management, and security. Mobile devices are also used differently compared to traditional computing platforms. Due to this mobility devices and platforms throw up a new kind of challenges to testing fraternity. Calsoft Labs, with its unique competence and experience of working with leading Software and Hardeware companies, has been in the forefront of mobility. Calsoft Labs’ Mobility & Testing practice have been working together for some time to build methodologies, processes, and frameworks to address the challenges arising because of the above mentioned challenges shift and to create a new paradigm in application and product testing.

Globally manufacturers are facing a more complex and demanding environment, with slower economic growth, volatility in commodity prices, higher cost of warehousing, and a growing complexity of their supply chains to accommodate shifts in market demands. To achieve sustained growth and competitiveness in this environment, most industrial companies have by now, implemented ERPs and other technologies that help them capture data along their value chain. However, the underlying processes are still lacking in connectivity, rigor and controls, and the data gathered is difficult to interpret and analyze for real-time and accurate decision-making. Genpact has developed the insights and operational practices to power intelligent manufacturing enterprises with smarter processes, smarter analytics and smarter technologies to help them grow and outcompete.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
