Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Ice Skating Lessons channel make tutorials of how to Ice skate. This includes Ice skating for
beginners (how to stand on ice/balance on ice, how to push off and glide) and showing people

on ice goes wrong (e.g the presenter falls and badly injures themselves)

The purpose of the channel is to show people how to Ice Skate as well as teach people the
stunts and tricks you can do on ice.

The audience for the channel is people who want to begin Ice Skating as well as people who

Most of the comments aren’t relevant to the video because people talk about there plans for ice skating. Some reviews say the video was really useful for them.
Instructions
For the skating, the instructions are very clear because the presenter is telling you and showing you what to do. When he’s on solid ground and demonstrating what you need to wear to protect
yourself, it’s not as clear because he’s point at it and saying it. It would be useful to have text on it so people know what he means.
Graphics
There is some use of graphics. There is a graphic at the start of the video which has the logo of the company who made it, which also has links to other places where people can get the
information.
Angles
The camera angles are varied throughout the video. The first low angle shot shows the audience how to step onto the ice. The medium distance shot shows what to hold onto as you step onto

The presenter doesn’t use any props because he’s not acting. It’s also because Ice skating is quite dangerous and if he had a prop he could really hurt himself.

The video is filmed on an ice rink because it’s about showing people how to step onto the ice safely.
Reviews
All the comments are relevant to the video. Most people said they found the video useful and they want the Ice coach to make more to help them improve on there skills.
Instructions
The instructions are very clear and easy to understand, but when the presenter points at something, it would be useful if there was text on the screen explaining what he
means, even though he does say it out loud.
Angles
The camera angles are the same throughout the video. The camera is looking straight at the presenter when he talks through how to get on the ice. The camera looks at him
from his side as he steps onto the ice, the presenter looks straight at the camera as he is on the ice safely.
Effects
There is no use of effects in the video because it’s more instruction.
Post Production
The video has been made using one camera. It’s easy to tell because they only use one angle and the position changes in one place. There is only one transition in the video.
Lighting
It looks like assisted lighting has been used on the Ice because the Ice rink looks fairly bright, whereas the outside looks quite dark.
Composition
When he’s on the edge on the rink, it shows he’s just stepped onto the ice. When he’s stood on solid ground, it shows he’s going to explain how to step onto the ice.

The presenter is wearing black winter clothing which shows he’s in a cold environment.

The video is filmed in a studio because it’s the most likely place to film an interview.
Lighting
The video has been filmed using natural light throughout. It obvious that natural light has been used because it is daylight and the walls are white, which makes everything clear to see.

The camera angles are really clear. He uses close up, high angle shots to show what he’s doing for the audience to see and understand. The camera is at eye level when the presenter is speaking.
This is so it shows that he’s talking to the audience.
Effects
At the bottom of the screen, there is text which describes what he’s talking about. The text is easy to read because it stands out against the background and it’s not to dark or bright.
Post Production
The video looks like it’s been made using one camera because the transitions between each shot happen quite suddenly.
Composition
The presenter is placed in a variety of locations. He’s placed near the equipment when he’s talking about it or when he’s demonstrating how to do something, and when he’s describing
something, he’s placed away from it. When he’s speaking, he’s looking directly at the camera which shows he’s talking to the audience directly.

The presenter and the crew are wearing casual wear, which shows that the video is being made in an informal way.
