2. Pre-production
• What are you making?
• For my FMP the main thing I am going to make is a Tourism advertisement video
for Ripon, this will show what Ripon has to offer. I will also be making a poster or
2 which will supplement the video.
• Why?
• The purpose of making this video is to practise and show my video skills, as well
as improving my video editing. The purpose of the video is to show Ripon and
what it has to offer, the main objective is to get you to want to visit. The poster’s
purpose is to catch your eye to make you think about visiting or at least having a
look at the place online.
• Who is it for?
• My target audience would be between the ages 18-30. I chose this age range
because I feel like once you get to that sort of age its when you start going out
and exploring. Its targeted at both genders. You can be any social status
everyone is welcome. Ripon has some beautiful architecture and scenery to see,
if you like historical buildings and a nice view its definitely worth to visit Ripon.
• Where will it appear/on what?
• The video will appear on YouTube. The poster will be on an A4 piece of paper. It
will be easy to the eye. All of this will be on my blog.
Reflection:
4. • Flat Plan
• My poster will be portrait. I will use an image of something Iconic to Ripon.
The main background colour I think im going to try and use a cream/white.
• The image will take up most of the poster, there will be a white/cream border
around the image with a bigger white space at the bottom where the text will
go.
• The text I will put on it will be the name of the place “Ripon” and then a little
quote at the bottom.
• The text its going to be black, The word “Ripon” will be big it will be under the
image. Under the word ”Ripon” will be the quote or slogan in smaller text.
• This is the font I will use
RIPON Its called Bell MT. I have chosen this because it looks like
an old font, Ripon is old as well so I feel like it will fit in well.
• I will add a filter on the image
this will make it look like its an oil
painting
• I may also include in small text what the
image is. This will be just under the image
• I will most likely use the Cathedral or Fountains
Abbey.

6. Copy - Text
• I am doing a video and a poster so there wont be much text.
• On my poster the text will be Ripon in a big font in the style Bell MT
below that is the quote “ Stay awhile amidst its historic charm”
• Under the image in very small text on the left hand side I will write
where the location that the picture was taken.
• For my video I plan to have a little bit of Writing at the start, like a
title that starts the video. Also maybe at the end I might have a bit
more text signing the video off. If I do this the text will be quite
large and centralized I think I will use either white or black font
colour. I think It will start with “Ripon” and end with something like
“I hope you visit soon”
7. Style Sheet
• I want my posters to look professional so I want to use some text that
looks quite sophisticated and posh.
• Ripon
• Stay awhile amid its ancient charm

9. Contingency Planning
Potential Issue Solution
Camera doesn’t work. Cant take photos/video. Use my phone instead.
Mac doesn’t work. Make sure I have everything backed up
somewhere so I can access it even if the Mac
doesn’t work. Like from my laptop
Due to COVID areas might be closed off where I
want to take photos.
Either work with what I have or chose
another area to take photos of.
Camera files corrupt, which means I would lose
my photos/film.
Make sure as soon as possible after taking the
photo/video back it up somewhere.
Photoshop not opening/working Use alternate software like canva.
10. Health and Safety
Potential Issue How will the issue be
avoided?
Because I’m going to be outside and filming
there is a tripping hazard.
Ill scout out the area before I start filming to
make sure everything's clear if not I can then
avoid it.
I might be near the road where cars will be
driving by
Make sure I look before crossing the road, then
when filming near it make sure no ones coming
if I do go on the road to film.
COVID-19 Make sure I follow the safety guidelines for
COVID
There is construction going on around the
locations I will be taking photos. So something
could fall of and injure me.
Keep a good distance away from the
construction sites and always be aware if im
filming near them.
11. Production Schedule
Day/Lesson Tasks
13th I will make sure I have my images and some
video ready to use. I will complete 1 poster and
maybe a second or at least start it. I will do this
on photoshop.
14th This day I will complete the second poster if I
haven’t already. After that I will start editing my
video with the footage I have available. I will
create the opening scene.
15th I will add an opening bit of text something like
“Welcome to Ripon”
20th I have decided I want to do postcards, I think I
will do 2. Also start editing footage
21st Complete my first postcard (American Style)
get more footage, also keep editing
existing footage
22nd Finish postcards, then keep editing my footage.
15. Mood Board Reflections.
With these mood boards I wanted to look at thing that I will be able to
film, All the images in my mood board are things that I can potentially
film for my product.
All of my images are outdoors and give of a peaceful, elegant mood
There is a lot of green and browns In these images, that gives the sense
that you are outdoors which is what I'm looking for.
These images having been taken from a far distance to get all of the main
focus in and centralised, I think this camera work is perfect for my video
because my video is all centred around getting a lot at what you will be
able to see if you went to Ripon. So I will use the same camerawork for
my video.

I will be filming near water so there is
potential I fall in.
I will need to make sure I am looking where I
am going when filming. Also keeping a decent
distance from the water just in case.
As it is spring animals will have their young so
the parents might be aggressive.
Make sure I give them lots of space or just
don’t go on that field at all.
Even though I’m outside COVID-19 could still
be a problem.
I will keep my distance from people, I will wear
a mask if needed.

Potential Issue Solution
Camera doesn’t work. Cant take photos/video. Use my phone instead.
Mac doesn’t work. Make sure I have everything backed up
somewhere so I can access it even if the Mac
doesn’t work.
Weather is so bad I cant film outside. I could film through a window and create an
abstract feel. Or I could use that time to work
on something else like the poster.
Camera files corrupt, which means I would lose
my photos/film.
Make sure as soon as possible after taking the
photo/video back it up somewhere.
Premiere pro doesn’t work Find an alternative video editing software like
filmora
