                            Technical Scoring and Standards
                            Eastern Center for Arts and Technology
                            Wednesday, January 24, 2007


Requirements
Each team must:
   • Have a designated team leader, and conform to the team member guidelines of
      the contest
   • Meet the minimum requirement of (2) competitors per team
   • Build a web site according to the criteria supplied
   • Present the web site to a panel of industry professionals

Equipment & Materials
     • All equipment and materials will be supplied by Delaware County Technical
        School (DCTS), including computer hardware and software.
     • The latest versions of industry standard applications will be installed:
           o Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004
           o Macromedia Flash MX 2004
           o Macromedia Fireworks MX 2004
           o Adobe Photoshop and ImageReady 7
It is recommended to bring a USB flash drive to transfer files between computers.

Scope of Contest
Contestants must demonstrate the following skills in a total of 7 domain areas.
Performance will be judged, by points within a percent of achievement per domain as
follows:
    • Internet Basics
    • Web Markup and Scripting
    • Web Site Design
    • Web Graphics
    • Web Multimedia
    • Web Accessibility
    • Web Project Management

Technical Scoring and Standards
Judging Criteria:

Professionals in the Web Community will conduct judging. Judging is based on a rubric
and based on the following point system:
   • 30 total possible points for quality of code
   • 30 total possible points for quality of graphics and type
   • 30 total possible points for quality of overall design and layout
   • 10 total possible points for quality of web site process documentation

SkillsUSA Web Design Contest Technical Scoring and Standards Eastern Center for Arts and Technology Wednesday, January 24, 2007 Requirements Each team must: • Have a designated team leader, and conform to the team member guidelines of the contest • Meet the minimum requirement of (2) competitors per team • Build a web site according to the criteria supplied • Present the web site to a panel of industry professionals Equipment & Materials • All equipment and materials will be supplied by Delaware County Technical School (DCTS), including computer hardware and software. • The latest versions of industry standard applications will be installed: o Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 o Macromedia Flash MX 2004 o Macromedia Fireworks MX 2004 o Adobe Photoshop and ImageReady 7 It is recommended to bring a USB flash drive to transfer files between computers. Scope of Contest Contestants must demonstrate the following skills in a total of 7 domain areas. Performance will be judged, by points within a percent of achievement per domain as follows: • Internet Basics • Web Markup and Scripting • Web Site Design • Web Graphics • Web Multimedia • Web Accessibility • Web Project Management Technical Scoring and Standards Judging Criteria: Professionals in the Web Community will conduct judging.
