At the ITSC09 Apple in education conference in Brisbane, Australia, Jonathan Nalder, an Apple Distinguished Educator presented this workshop about the big picture of mobile learning as well as using the iPod touch in education.
The digital revolution has given us a world of global connectedness, information organisation, communication and participatory cultures of learning, giving teachers the opportunity to hone their professional practice through their networked learning community. What do you do to make it so?
CENDOO is your internet butler. CENDOO is based upon this new technology, ai-one™, which provides the ability to think and learn like a biological brain. CENDOO is your automatic service in the background that helps you get things done and does jobs on your behalf. And the more you use CENDOO, the better the service knows your preferences and adapts. In other words, CENDOO knows exactly what you want and does it.
Presented at the Workshop on the Potential of Social Media Tools and Data in the News Media Industry (SocMedNews) of the 6th International Conference on Weblogs and Social Media (ICWSM 12).

Responsive design, application development using APIs, and content strategy are hot topics in web development right now. These ideas belong to a bigger umbrella: ubiquitous computing and the role it plays in our lives. Traditional ideas of usability are undergoing dynamic changes as we move away from a desktop-first model of personal computing.
The internet refrigerator already exists and it's only the tip of the iceberg. In the near future, human-computer interactions will be thoroughly integrated into everyday objects and activities.
Postdesktop was a presentation to add clarity to responsive design as part of a larger context and to think about a shift that is changing the devices we use to access the web, the delivery method for education, the teaching and learning experience, and the whole of our lives.
Topics included a look at the role of pervasive computing:
• as it relates to responsive design
• in the classroom and textbooks
• in .edu marketing and utility on campuses

Technology update for sd43 student leadership councilBrian Kuhn
presentation to the Student Leadership Council in School District 43 (Coquitlam); student representatives from middle and secondary schools (grades 6-12)
Web intelligence is the area of study and research of the application of artificial intelligence and information technology on the web in order to create the next generation of products, services and frameworks based on the internet.
This presentation was presented by Nijil Y from SEO, CUSAT
Social media and mobile devices have combined to help create the always-with-us, always-on, always-connected campus. Not just student-to-student but, importantly, institution/faculty/staff-to-student as well as staff-to-staff. We need to look beyond the silo-ed, one-way web sites of the past towards more personal, two-way applications that take advantage of this sea change on campus. The ways in which our users will want to interact with us, the types of tasks they’ll want to complete, and the types of devices we’ll want to deliver to will just continue to proliferate.
Now is the time to reevaluate.
Using lessons learned at a large land-grant institution we’ll look at what the future friendly campus might look like, ways to plant the seed of that change and tips on how to accomplish it.
This presentation was given at the 2012 .eduGuru Summit on April 11, 2012.

Adoption of an innovation, a change, a new technology is hard. There are some fundamental ways to support changes in systematic and sustainable ways to achieve transformation.
Orientate parents to our changing world driven by technology. Use this presentation along with roadtrips to various social media sites using your computer, mobile phone, and tablet showing how people seamlessly move among the tools interacting with others, sharing, etc. Emphasize the important of parents learning to drive these tools so they can teach and support their kids online. Don't be afraid and ban, rather learn, embrace, and guide.
Shift to the future – the technological disruption of learning and work - cio...Brian Kuhn
We live in unprecedented times... technology is disrupting learning and work as we know it. Machines are taking over more and more jobs and we need to be preparing this generation for a very uncertain unpredictable rapidly changing world. Education needs to shift to a world of abundant knowledge, leveraged through networks, and knowledge engines. CIO's need to be futurists and guides for their organizations to lead them forward into the future.
Vision for the future of learning and workBrian Kuhn
A vision for how learning and work can be enabled through technology. Three key strategies are essential: infrastructure, access equity, and learning & work spaces/systems. The interesting work and learning is made possible once the first two are substantially addressed. The first two areas are barriers to learning and work if not addressed well.
Update for the Board of Education on two major initiatives they supported in 2011: building a private fiber network for schools and implementing network optimization and management tools.
