This paper examines the enhancement of voltage stability in large-scale squirrel cage induction generator-based wind turbines using Static Synchronous Compensators (STATCOMs). It investigates the optimal locations for STATCOM installation within a distribution system to maintain voltage levels within stability margins during various operating scenarios, helping to prevent voltage instability and turbine disconnections. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated through simulations using MATLAB/Simulink, demonstrating improved voltage profiles and reactive power balance.
