First LOGO Of Vodafone
Evolutionof‘Vodafone’wasstartedin1982withthe
establishmentof‘RacalStrategicRadioLtd’.On1st jan
1985,firstcallwasmadebyVodafonefromLondonto
NewburyHeadquarters.
Demerged with ‘Racal
Electronics’.
After demergence of Racal
Telecom from Racal Electronics, ‘
Vodafone ’ came to existence.
Overtook ‘Peoples Phone’.

‘Astec Communications’.
Overtook ‘airtouch communications’.
In the year 2007, Vodafone entered Indian
market as it acquired 67% stake of
‘Hutchison Essar’ for $10.7 billion, and
Hutch was renamed to ‘Vodafone’.
In the year 2011, Vodafone buys out its
partner essar from its Indian mobile phone
business. It paid $5.46 billion to take essar
out of its 33% stake in the Indian
subsidiary.

  • 6. Demerged with ‘Racal Electronics’. After demergence of Racal Telecom from Racal Electronics, ‘ Vodafone ’ came to existence.
  • 9. In the year 2007, Vodafone entered Indian market as it acquired 67% stake of ‘Hutchison Essar’ for $10.7 billion, and Hutch was renamed to ‘Vodafone’. In the year 2011, Vodafone buys out its partner essar from its Indian mobile phone business. It paid $5.46 billion to take essar out of its 33% stake in the Indian subsidiary.
