The document describes two new vocational career development modules in Biology and Marine Science. So far, placements have been confirmed with 15 biology providers and 17 marine science providers. Students are currently interviewing for and attending their semester 2 placements.

This document outlines two new 10-credit employability skills modules for biology and marine science undergraduate programmes at Newcastle University. The modules involve students completing a 35-hour work placement in their field of study during the second semester. In the first semester, students receive training from academics, the careers service, and other university departments to prepare for their placements. A variety of local organizations partner with the university to host students for their placements. Student feedback indicates the placements helped develop graduate skills and increased confidence in employability. Placement providers also provided positive feedback on hosting students.

This study analyzed 7th grade students' difficulties with oral and written communication skills at La Betulia Highschool in Colombia. To address these issues, the study implemented an institutional radio station called "STUDENTS' VOICE" to provide opportunities for students to improve their speaking, writing, argumentation, and listening abilities. Surveys of teachers and principals showed unsatisfactory results that needed to be addressed. The radio station served as a complement to academic activities and included programming, local news writing, and script writing. The results demonstrated that the radio station had a positive influence on students' oral and written communication competence by allowing them to freely express ideas, concepts, and emotions.
