Persuasive Essay On Online Classes
Most people think highly of online classes; get to work from home, get to work on a flexible
schedule, and anyone can do it. Though no one has heard the cons of taking one. I personally
took three semesters of online classes in high school and had a horrible experience. Because of
loose scheduling, poor communication, and the focus needed, online classes are not suitable for
procrastinators. To give a better understanding, I will summarize my experience with the class.
Me, being a procrastinator, thought to myself: I ll just work on the weekends and if I don t finish
the class by the end of the school year, I can finish within the first few weeks of summer. This was
a god awful plan. Unsurprisingly, close to nothing was accomplished on the weekends. Friends
would ask me to hang out every weekend, and I did every time. Why would I want to work on my
class on the weekend when I could be having fun? I would later regret this decision. On the days
I stayed home and could have worked on the class, I completed nothing. On these days, I would
tell myself: I ll just complete what I didn t do this weekend next weekend. This rarely happened.
Thus, the cycle of getting nothing accomplished started. I disregarded my class for most of the
first semester of junior year. With only nine assignments out of eighty finished after the first
semester of the school year, I was immensely behind. I told myself to get my act together during
second semester and grind out these two semesters

Consumer Behavior
[23] utilize previous research of traditional WOM that had any similarities with E WOM they
develop the new construct into five utilities: 1.Focus related utility: the benefit a consumer receives
from their contribution to a community, by adding value to the community through his or her
contributions [23]. In a Web based opinion platform context, such contributions would include
providing reviews and commentary on products and services of interest to other community
members [23]. This utility is based on the assumption that adding value to the community is an
important goal to the individual [23]. There are four motives that fall under this utility which are:
concern for other consumers, helping the company, social benefits, and... Show more content on

Since negative consumer comments can influence the way a company and its image are perceived,
public articulations may be used by consumer as an instrument of power [23]. 2.Consumption
Utility: Consumption utility refers to consumers obtaining value through direct consumption of the
contributions of other community constituents [23]. In a Web based opinion platform context or
website context, consumption takes place when individuals read the product reviews and comments
written by others, which also can motivate consumers to write comments [23]. Consumers may
articulate a comment online describing their experiences with a product and request other
consumers to submit problem solving information [23]. Writing and/or soliciting information on
online consumer opinion platforms may allow the contributor to gain more specific and useful
feedback than simply anonymously reading comments (i.e., lurking ) [23]. 3.Approval Utility:
Approval utility is concerned with a consumer s satisfaction that comes when other constituents
consume and approve of the constituent s own contributions [23]. The feedback can be either
formal or informal [23]. Informal approval may come when another user either publicly praises one
s contributions to the group or privately communicates to the individual regarding the usefulness of
the information provided [23]. More

Circus in Town and Happyness for Sale are two stories about people in poverty, and how
optimism takes away the pain from living in poverty. In the short story CIrcus in Town, Jenny is
upset she isn t able to go to the circus, but she is optimistic that one day she ll go see the circus.
In Happyness for Sale, Gardner is rich and living the American dream, but in the beginning, he

1.1: 3 organisation benefits of attracting and retaining a diverse workforce
In this era of economic globalization, many companies are making efforts to achieve workforce

intangible benefits to the organization. Understanding the advantages of workforce diversity helps
an organization to establish with a competitive edge. This can include employing workers with

When companies outsource, that reduces the need for recruiting new employees. The human
resources department will have to shift resources away from recruiting for the outsourced functions,
and focus on supplying employment candidates for the company s core business units.
3: Competition:
Companies within the same industry are competing for qualified candidates to ensure future
growth. There is competition in the recruiting end of your business just as there is in selling
products. You need to analyze what your competition is offering new employees, and try to develop
a competitive package to lure in the talent that you need.
2.1 Describe the benefits of at least 3 different recruitment methods
1: Internal Recruitment: benefit is cheaper and quicker to recruit. People are already familiar with
the business and how it operates. It can be motivating as it provides opportunities for promotion
with in the business. Organization is already aware of the strength and weaknesses of candidates.
Easy to pick up the best talents within an organization. It builds a long relationship with employees.
2: External Recruitment: The benefit is the outside people bring in new ideas. You get a larger
pool of workers from which you can select the best candidate. Candidates will have a wider range
of experience. Uniqueness in employees worked for different companies

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Group Therapy
Reichenberg, 2014). This text speaks to the fact that other groups could be based on the idea of
racism, oppression or discrimination (Earlet, 2000). This means that the facilitator must be willing
to bracket (Seligman Reichenberg, 2014) his own values and be willing to understand the position
of the group members.
Moreover, due to the nature of the therapy being in a form of a group, the facilitator is required to
develop, alongside the members, group norms and boundaries (Schachter, n.d.). This is important
as it will serve as a way of maintaining order and respect within the group itself (Schachter, n.d.).
Furthermore, the facilitator is required to convey some level of care for the group as well as use
this as an opportunity to model ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, should a group facilitator follow the order above, it is also essential to mention that the
stages do not necessarily persist for a long time and at times, facilitators cannot tell when they ve
moved on the next stage. 8. THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF GROUP
THERAPY. 8.1. Advantages of Group Therapy.
8.1.1. Diversity of Opinions.
Group therapy allows different individuals to come together and share their thoughts, feelings and
ideas (Occupy Theory, 2014). Through this interaction group members are able to eliminate
negative feelings and experience a sense of relief after sharing their experiences and opinions
(Occupy Theory, 2014).
8.1.2. Establishing Comaraderie and Social Support.
Another advantage of group therapy is that it is empowering and encourages individuals to meet
other people and establish comradeship (Occupy Theory, 2014). In terms of social support, group
therapy allows an individual to have a well diversified and strong support structure from other
group members (occupy Theory, 2014). Depending on the number of times in which the group
meets each member will have built a strong social support at the end of each session. 8.1.3. Group

Vitruvius Impact On Modern Architecture
The film proposal is for a small, artistic, Indie drama film. The movie is directed towards future
architects just like Vitruvius writing. The film would copy the message in De Architectura and tell
about the importance of Architects and what an Architect should know. It would be a movie that
professors require first year architecturestudents to watch. It would be educational and provide an
entertaining way to learn about the impact of architecture on society. 3.
The movie takes place in 12 AD Rome and in 2016 at the University of Cincinnati. 12 AD is a time
that Vitruvius would have been alive and Augustus would have been emperor. It s a time before De
Architectura was completed so that the lessons Vitruvius learns in the modern world could
influence the collection of writing. This will help preserve the modern thoughts on architecture in
classical times and push forth innovation years in advance. This plays on the fact that Vitruvius
writings were conservative at the time and his dislike of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The film plays off of this and the plot consists of convincing him to not be so conservative. We
are dependent almost solely on his own writing to know what he was like as a person. The film
takes place only a few years before his death and he is depicted as old and wise. De architectura
had little significance at it s time of writing but with his new understanding on contemporary
architecture it would become very popular and not be lost for hundreds of years like it was. To
modernize the literature I have Vitruvius apply his theories to modern times. The genre of the
original text was not a drama, but anything can be made into a narrative. To do that there is a lot of
other dialogue besides just direct quotes from Vitruvius writing. It would be a boring film to just
watch a series of lectures so there needed to be entertaining elements of time travel, violence,
stealing, competition,

Compare And Contrast The Stability Of Political Parties
While creating the document that became the Constitution of the United States, the framers did
not incorporate any form of a political party system. The document did not encourage or
discourage political parties, and no mention of political parties is made throughout the original
text. Many individuals did not want political parties to form to refrain from disputes, and the first
president of the United States, George Washington, even warned against the formation of parties
fearing that the separation would not be good for the newly formed country. Despite early
resistance to the idea, political parties quickly formed because of differences in ideas of the people.

Political parties provide political stability in two different ways. First, political parties simplify
and bring together political processes that occur in the United States. Political parties act as a
conglomerate of ideas. Parties have the ability to combine and represent many different sub
groups under one large party. This process simplifies overly complicated political procedures.
Secondly, political parties provide stability by keeping the party that is in control in check. In
Separation of Parties, Not Powers, Daryl J. Levinson and Richard H. Pildes explain that
recognizing party competition as a central mechanism driving the institutional behavior that
separation of powers law aims to regulate (2006) is key to understanding how political stability is
created by parties. Because political parties are mostly against another party s decisions, parties that
do not control the majority will provide checks and actively point out any mistakes that the other
party makes. This system is crucial because competition is very important in providing the best
outcome for overall democracy. To conclude, political parties play a major role in government by
providing political

Witness, By Australian Peter Weir
Introduction:
Witness is a film which explores the differences between the modern American and traditional
Amish communities. Directed by Australian Peter Weir, the film is set in 1985, in Pennsylvania,
America. Rachel Lapp and her young son, Samuel, leave the Amish community to travel to
Baltimore to visit Rachel s sister. Whilst waiting at the train station Samuel enters the bathroom
where he witnesses a murder of a police officer. This involves the appropriately named honest
detective John Book, who investigate the murder and does things by the book. Witness brings
together two different worlds and explores the effects. Witness also discusses organizational culture
in its revelations of the Philadelphia police force s entrenched corruption. ... Show more content on

In the Amish community, Samuel found Book s gun in the shelf, Eli warns Samuel of the
dangers of the gun and how it is unwelcomed in Samuel s community. This powerful scene shows
the loss of innocence in Samuel and the peaceful beliefs of the Amish. This is compared to the
scenario of the story where the corruption and base of this thriller is because of drug deals within
high officials of the Philadelphia police station. The corruption from high officials is passed
down to lower levels police officers. The greed for money from these drug deals causes the
imminent death of a police officer who is supposedly is a part of the team. This represents how far
the corruption can lead, all because of greed for money.
Conclusion:
Witness is a deep film which explores many aspects of the modern world and compares it to the
prehistoric life style of the Amish. It highlights the important of socialism and represents how two
different cultures can

Raymond Carver s poem Photograph of My Father In His 22nd...
The Theme of Raymond Carver s poem Photograph of My Father In His 22nd Year
Growing up we all had expectations of who we should be imposed upon us by our parents.
Whether or not we achieved those expectations upon reaching adulthood isn t really the final
outcome. There is a greater lesson learned regardless of how we benefited from the imposition. And
that realization is what truly shapes our final character. Raymond Carver entertains this topic in his
poem, Photograph of My Father in His Twenty second Year. In this poem Carver provides us with a
beautifully touching slice of life that is not only flawless in writing and technique, but that connects
and emotionally evokes feelings that are universal in all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The young man continues in the description saying, In jeans and denim shirt, he leans against
the front fender of a 1934 Ford (6 7). These details help to set up the false image the young man s
father is trying to convey. Upon growing up and then looking back on his father, the young man
is able to provide the retrospective comment, He would like to pose bluff and hearty for his
posterity, wear his old hat cocked over his ear (8 9). This statement illustrates the fact that the
young man, upon looking back, has realized that his father desperately tried to project a self
image uncharacteristic to his actual self. He is fully aware of whom he is looking at, but just like
the kitchen, it feels completely alien to him. The young man states that he can tell his father is
attempting to falsify his look and attitude for the sake of his son. The last line of the stanza
reinforces this idea when the son proclaims, All his life my father wanted to be bold (10). This
comment comes from a young man who has obviously lived his entire life in the shadow of a man
constantly trying to be something he wasn t. The reader gets the idea that the son was constantly
subjected to his father s influence upon him to be tough and masculine just like his dad. The last
line of the stanza relays to the reader the notion that the young man only realized his father s
masked character upon looking back over the course

Double Muscling
Selective breeding
Selective breeding is a process where animal and plant breeders select individuals with desirable
traits and breed them to produce offspring with these desirable traits, which are determined by
desirable alleles in the selected organism s genotype. This produces offspring with favourable
traits. (3) The animal that will be discussed is the Belgian blue cattle. The Belgian blue cattle has
the characteristic of what is called double muscling. Double muscling is caused by the recessive
mutation of the myostatin gene, and naturally occurs. (12) The myostatin sequence present in
Belgian blue cattle is an 11 nucleotide deletion in the third exon which causes a frame shift that
eliminates virtually all of the mature, active region of the molecule .(14) It prevents the control of
muscle growth, and causes there to be more muscle fibres. However, it is with sacrificing other
important body functions such as reproductions, and normal fat and bone deposition. (12) This
creates cattle that have up to 40% more muscle mass than other normal cattle. Most of the extra
muscle is lean meat. The Belgian blue cattle was created for the dairy and meat industry, but now is
generally for meat.(17) The Belgian ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sometimes, prognathism is also seen. Both of these features means that the calves find it harder to
suckle when young. (12) This means they do not get enough nutrients from their mother s milk as
a calf. This means that they have a lower ability to survive to an adult, and to the reproductive age.
This means that there will be fewer cows and bulls that are able to breed, to produce Belgian blue
calves. This means that the survival of the Belgian blue cattle population

After a significant slump last year, sea turtle nesting has rebounded to record levels on beaches

researchers and volunteers, who have spent the summer cataloging and protecting sea turtle nests,
according to the New York Times. It s a lot of physical effort, stated Wildlife biologist Doug
Hoffman. You re talking about being in the sun, hauling equipment and digging holes, pounding

the May through August nesting season and that s just a preliminary count from Georgia. Based on

The Doctrinal Cycle Of Federalism
Federalism is when states or provinces share power with a national government. The United States
government functions by applying the principles of federalism. The doctrinal cycle of federalism
is when the state gain power for a while and then the power is disbursed to the national government
for a while. The power is given back and forth between the states and the national government
creating a cycle of federalism. The ideology of the Supreme Court is an important factor for
determining what level of Congress will hold the power. A liberal Supreme Court is more likely
to let the national government hold more power, while a conservative court is more likely to let
the states hold more power. There are three types of federalism which are cooperative, dual, and
new. The ideology of the Supreme Court affects what type of federalism that the country will live
under.
Cooperative federalism is when all three levels of government collectively interact to solve
common problems. In cooperative federalism there is a strong national government and the
Supreme Court allowed Congress to grow and become more powerful. The court s ideology
during this time was more liberal, which impacts how the court will decide on cases that are
presented to them. The McCulloch v. Maryland case was about Congress creating The Second
Bank of the United States, in the state of Maryland. Maryland at the time passed legislation that
would impose a tax on the bank. James W. McCulloch, a cashier at the

High Dopamine Research Paper
Dopamine is a neurotransmitter in the brain that is extremely important in the functions of
movement, memory, pleasurable reward, behavior and cognition, attention, inhibition of prolactin
production, sleep, mood, and learning (Mandal, 2015). There are consequences of having too much
or too little of dopaminein the body; it can cause several disease conditions such as Parkinson s
disease and drug addiction. According to Dr Anaya Mandal, dopamine is produced in the
dopaminergic neurons in the ventral tegmental area (VTA) of the midbrain, the substantia nigra

It is said to be what makes us human because it makes us smart, able to plan ahead, and resist
impulses (Deans, 2011). Since dopamine is a neurotransmitter, it means that it controls
communication in the brain. Chemically dopamine, is able to tell a neuron to fire off a signal or
not, and it can also modify the signals. Dopamine is extremely old it was found in lizards brains
and most all animals reaching the homo sapiens. Dopamine has elevated levels in the left
hemisphere of the brain which is supposedly because of prenatal neurochemical environment.
When a women is pregnant her being upright helps expose the fetal brain to different elements than
other primates, which explains the higher levels of dopamine in the left side of human s brain than
other primates. Over time dopamine has evolved more and more as we have evolved (Deans, 2011).
We get dopamine through eating amino acid. The amino acid is called tyrosine, and through a
chemical reaction it becomes dopamine. If people don t have dopamine or inefficient dopamine it
can cause mental retardation. Too much dopamine in the wrong place can make you psychotic.
Drugs such as cocaine and methamphetamines can cause euphoria, aggression, and intense sexual
feelings because of all the dopamine in the drugs (Deans,

Reflection Of The Observation Of Students In The...
The opportunity to observe students in the elementary school I once attended was very eye
opening. The elementary school teaches children who attend this school are kindergarten to fifth
grade. The classroom I am observed are students between nine and ten years old and are currently
in the fourth grade. When I arrived on campus there were many things that have changed and the
relationship between teachers and students is a lot closer now than from what I can remember
from the late 1990s and early 2000 years. The schoolnow displays murals and colorful art projects
designed by students and displayed throughout the hallways.
When I arrived on campus, I was greeted by a group of volunteer parents and one security guard.
They were very friendly and directed me to the main office so I could check in. I then met with
the principal who was already aware of my observation and was delighted to walk me to the
classroom of my observation. The current principle Rita Exposito began in 2010 and has been
with the school ever since. She explained to me some of the changes around the school he
believed I was not aware of and gave me a brief background on how the mission of the elementary
changed since becoming Andrew Jackson Stem Dual Language Academy.

Devastation struck Japan on March 11, 2011 when the main island, Honshu, was rocked by the

Rise Of Abortion In The United States
Every day the number of abortion cases increases. Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy.
Abortions have become a trend among the youth of the 20th century. Although an abortion in the
United States is legal it can regulate and limited in individual states. Abortion is wrong and cruel
there are many positive options to make before taking that plan of action.
There have been an increasing number of abortion cases throughout the United States. Between
2000 and 2008 the abortion rate has increased 18 percent among poor women. Nearly 70 percent
of abortions are for women who are making 11,000 a year or less, and are hovering right over the
poverty line. Lower income single women tend to get pregnant more than middle class single
women. The reason is that lower income single women have less self esteem about their self. The
reason for some women to have abortion is the responsibilities of parenthood and family life. Non
Hispanic white women account for 36 percent of abortions, non Hispanic black women for 30
percent Hispanic women for 25 percent and women of other races for 9 percent. ( http:/

The Pros And Cons Of Political Reform Commissions
In early December 1999, the new PUP government announced that it was establishing a broad
based Political Reform Commission to review Belize s system of governance and develop
proposals for reform. On January 13, 1999, Prime Minister, the Honorable Said Musa officially
launched the Commission in BelizeCity. Some of the things the Reform Commission was
mandated for are: to review the system of governance and to make recommendations for its
improvement, whether by amendments to the Constitution or laws or otherwise, with a view to
achieving greater democracy. Also, to take account of all the ideas and proposals made over the
past few years by different organizations. Some members of the Reform Commission are: Senator

Therefore, I disagree with the commission s recommendation. I believe that Belize should
change from Parliamentary Executive to Executive Presidential. In such case, having the
Parliamentary Executive system has quite a few disadvantages. Some of them are: quick
decision making, the system has not effectively prevented the increase of official waste and
corruption, and the House and even more so the Senate serve largely as rubber stamps for
Cabinet decisions. If we continue to use this system, the people will not be able to be a part of
the decision making because this system is of a dictatorship. It means that even if we disagree
with something, it s not us who have the final say. Also, it didn t decrease waste and corruption
but I believe instead it has increased. Moreover, saying that the House and Senate serves largely as
a rubber stamp for Cabinet decisions means that the House and the Senate are approving matters or
making decisions without real power. The House Senate aren t very important to what they

Descriptive Essay On A Waiting Room
Nothing good ever happens in a waiting room. I pull up to the hospital with a subtle feeling of
dread tugging in my heart, and the building looms above me like a grim castle atop a hill. I step
to the doors and I am suddenly met with the familiar sterility that pervades every hospital. My
footsteps seem to echo around these empty halls, and every sound is amplified, including the
beat of my own unsteady heart. Truthfully, I already know where to go as I have done this many
times, although I am not proud or happy to admit that. I walk through the winding hallways of
the hospital as they lead me deeper into its heart. At last, I arrive at the cold, metallic doors that
lead to the waiting room, and I place my hand on the metal as I prepare myself to walk in. After
gathering my courage, I push the door open and I am hit with a scent that seems to escape my
grasp even as I smell it. I step into a room that attempts to be homely , but it just results in a
feeling that is the exact opposite; almost as if it is trying too hard to earn my trust. There is a
small TV screen that plays the same silent weather forecasts over and over. The fake wooden
paneling on the wall gives the room the impression of a plastic cabin and the blue speckled carpet
seems to hold shards of colored glass. Still on my guard, I look around the room some more, and
there isn t as many people in the room as I thoughtthere would be. While awaiting results for my
mother s surgery, you would think that more of

Reflective Essay about Buxton Trip The aim of the reflective essay is to analyse the learning and
experience obtained throughout the Buxton trip. The key skills attained throughout the trip might
be characterized as Team work, Communication skills, Self confidence, Time management and
Leadership. I am happy that I had a chance to take part in this trip and examine the skills both as

The togetherness among the group and the individual s performance dependably assume a key part
in choosing the group s potential and their capability to meet the targets (Nicky Hayes, 2002). On
the next day when we performing a task I experienced an issue. One of our team members who was
going to initiate the task had not given enough preparation. This transformed into a
misunderstanding around ourselves which implied that we couldn t complete the task in the given
time. At that point I understood the need of initiative in our group. Leadership is the nature of
planning togetherness among the people to attain a common objective (Richard, W. 2008). The
leader might have any formal power yet ought to demonstrate the capability to make the whole
group in including mutual cooperation, conduct, practicality, qualities, and at last enhancing the
potential of the individuals of the team. In a lot of people with daily circumstances, togetherness

Literature Review Literature Review
Literature reviews can be of great benefit to social work practitioners. According to the Health
and Care Profession s Council s standards of proficiency for social workers, practitioners must be
able to engage in evidence informed practice (HCPC, 2017. p.11). This evidence includes
research knowledge (Webber, 2014). The requirement for practitioners to draw on knowledge
from developments in policy, practice and research is also reflected in the Professional
Capabilities Framework for Social workers in England (The British Association of Social Work,
2012). Exploring research papers can assist with this process but with the increasing amount of
published research reports, one can be overwhelmed by the amount of papers to digest and
consider its application (Aveyard, 2014). As a literature review gives a clear picture of all the
relevant literature on a specific topic, it proves a more convenient strategy for learning about the
current context regarding an area of interest. Furthermore, Webber explains that research evidence
is important for social work practice as it informs our knowledge on what works and does not
work for service users (2014). This suggests that practitioners should endeavour to stay up to date
with their knowledge of developments in social work as part of their professional development in
order to ensure they can practice effectively with service users.

Analysis Of Sisterhood Is Complicated By Ruth Padawer
Every person deserves the right to experience a sense of community amongst people who share a
common characteristic. A sense of fellowship amongst similar people allows a person to become
more comfortable with who they are through interactions with others who are going through or
have gone through the same triumphs or hardships. Without this feeling of belonging, one could be
driven into insanity. Anxiety due to isolation and desolation could run rampant through a person s
mind because of the loneliness that comes with a lack of communitymaking it an essential part of a
humanhood. By definition however, community invites inimitability. Community can be defined as
a group of unique individuals with shared characteristics. From that a... Show more content on

Fake News Delivers In A Real Way Analysis
Fake News Delivers in a Real Way Fake news commentators are comedians. They come in each
day to work and take a look at the news and choose what will be the subject of their show for that
evening. With pen and paper in hand they sit down and study the news clips for anything they
can find that funny, wrong, off, hypocritical, biased, contradictory, brushed over, hidden, or
twisted into sounding good when it really is not. Most days the job entails poking a lot of fun at
our government, our political leaders, our corporations, our silly rules and laws. Some days
though, the news is so horrific, so scary, and so evil that jokes are just not appropriate from a
human standpoint to be made. On nights like these, fake news reporters deliver... Show more

It just isn t that clear cut. DeMarco s report was short, brief, factual, and she clearly tried to hit

DeMarco s report may have had more facts, the question is was it actually effective? Did it make
one want to stop in their tracts and find out more? Did it move one to any action, or was it
simply informative. I have seen the traffic lady put more emotion in to her report each morning
that DeMarco did hers. Perhaps it was her way of trying to remain neutral to the situation, but it
came across as cold and careless instead. Her lack of emotion wouldn t make anyone stop in his

were doing and focus intently on the screen. He made you think, question, and want to know
more. His deliverance made you feel as if he was reaching right through the screen grabbing you
by the collar and trying to pull you across the line of white ignorance. Neither news report was
perfect, but then again who actually knows all the facts perfectly? If the report is factual, honest,
informative, has integrity, and moves you to action, that is a news report well done. Stewart s

The Susie Scenario Essay
For most people, anxiety is something that occurs occasionally throughout their lives such as, right
before a big meeting, presentation, tests, or a simple medical procedure. Other people are facing
challenges daily due to anxiety; some are diagnosed while others are not. Anxiety includes,
distressingly unpleasant and maladaptive feelings, thoughts, behaviors, and physical reactions.
Students with anxietyoften worry about their competence, even when they are not being evaluated
(Durwin, 467). These struggles affect the performance of adults in their everyday lives and more
specifically; a child s performance in academics. It is the role as an educator, to aid students with

In this circumstance, Susie feels over stimulated due to her need for perfection; inevitably causing
her to fall behind on assignments. Someone with severe anxiety splits their attention between their
anxiety and the task, instead of focusing solely on the assignment. This is made apparent through
Susie s lack of assignment completion. She is going through something known as the vicious
cycle. Essentially, Susie becomes fixated on a specific part of her assignment which distracts her
from completing the full project, leading to a poor grade and disappointment from Susie; causing
more anxiety and another incomplete assignment due to the lack of focus. Therefore, Susie cannot
perform at the optimal level. A simple task as mentioned earlier, notetaking; provides everyone with
a tolerance for a higher arousal level. Notetaking is something that can be performed with less
thought, effort, and stress which allows someone with anxiety to partake in the activity more easily.
Provided that Susie s main problems are anxiety, disorganization, and perfectionism; it is important
to design a modification plan that will reduce these symptoms and create an environment that is
more conducive to her learning. To begin, an educator can use the shaping method, inclusive of a
cognitive behavioral treatment and token economy, as a way to control Susie s disorder. Shaping
involves reinforcing small steps that move toward the behavior until the entire behavior is

Analysis Of August Wilsons Fences
August Wilsons Fences takes us on a journey that transforms the 20th century impression of a
Negro Family with Insatiability, Tenderness, and Sacrifice. The famous play is an autobiography
of an American Negro man who loses his dreams for the people he loves. Fences demonstrates us
what sacrifice looks like and how egocentricity still exist today. Fences takes place with a family
in Pittsburgh from 1957 to 1965. The characters are Troy, Bono, Rose, Lyons, Gabriel, Cory, and
Raynell. FпЃҐпЃ®пЃЈпЃҐпЃіпЂ пЃ©s important because it teaches us Love, respect,

after slavery had been abolished nearly a century before the biggest approach from Fences for any
director is an all Negro cast. This show requires a mature cast who can take on the theme of
Oppression.
Fences is a grave, dark, depressed production that goes through the life of Troy Maxon a Negro
living in Pittsburgh with his wife and son Cory while at times his friend Bono accompanying him.
There are three important themes of this play and audience should leave the theater feeling
Insatiability, Tenderness, and Sacrifice. As a production Fences takes you on a roller coaster,

Factor analysis has been used in previous research to extract muscle synergies and the
relationship between muscle synergies and the speed of walking has been extensively
investigated24 30. It has been shown that muscle synergies used by CNS in control of gait in
healthy adults is similar when walking with different speeds or under different body mass.
Analysis of synergies has also been applied to pathological gait and post stroke patients have
shown fewer synergies compared to healthy subjects31. It is proposed that a few modules (up to
5) can explain muscle activations during walking in healthy subjects. The underlying assumption
here is that modules reduce complexity of control for CNS and the application of synergies solves
the problem of redundancy in the nervous system32, 33. It has been argued however in some other
studies that the dimensionality of cortical activity is much higher than muscle activity and a
system that can generate motor commands in a such high dimensional space is unlikely to get
perplexed by the abundance of degrees of freedom at limb level34, 35. This means that the need to
reduce number of degrees of freedom in control of gait is not justified. Another criticism to the
application of muscle synergies is that the synergies might emerge as a result of the constraints of
the task under study and not as a neural control

How Social Media Shapes Musical Identities
The following proposal will be an overview of a short documentary project that will analyze and

this relationship can form musical identities. Thus, I will use interview subjects who I will film

India s The Indian State
The Indian state, while ostensibly secular, nevertheless has institutionally always been set up to
intervene in religious affairs. The Indian constitution enshrines the right to individual freedom of
religion, [but] also empowers the state to intervene in Hindu religious institutions. (Sen 16) The
constitution, for instance, calls on the state to ban untouchability, an abhorrent Hindu practice,
establishing affirmative action to help certain disadvantaged religious groups and puts in place
separate personal laws for different religious groups. (Sen 16) These policies allow institutions like
the government, and the courts to intervene in communal issues, making the government a player
in conflicts like the Babri Masjid. The Congress party, while a secular party, was consequently
involved in decision making that would favour either the Hindus or the minorities. Indias Supreme
Court was also involved in legislating on religious affairs. As Sen writes, India s version of
secularism can be traced back to the debates in the Constituent Assembly, where the constitution
was drafted in the late 1940s. The Assembly saw a lot of debate over what form this secularism
would take. There were several voices in the Assembly, including that of B.R. Ambedkar, who
wanted to severely restrict the role of religion in the public sphere. Hence, scientist K.T. Shah raised
the demand that there be an article expressly stating that the Indian state has no concern with any

Comparison Of Ivan Pavlov And John Watson
In 1903 a Russian physiologist by the name of Ivan Pavlov first developed an experiential model of
learning called Classical Conditioning (Lautenheiser 1999). An example if Classical Conditioning
would be ringing a bell when it is time for your pet to eat. The pet hears the bell and over time is
conditioned that when the bell rings its dinner time thus begins to salivate, and eventually learns to
be conditioned to responding to the bell in a specific manner. The bases was that neutral stimulus
would be put together with an excitatory one and over time the neutral stimulus would, at some
point down the line elicit the response that was associated with the original unlearned response.
Pavlov later added an element known as the nonexcitatory, conditioned stimulus which is but
together with an unconditioned stimulus (Lautenheiser 1999). Classic Conditioning can also be
known as stimulus response, conditioned response, respondent condition as these are the behaviors
that take place during the Classical Conditioning. There are two basic forms of associative
conditioning, classical and operant. Both Ivan Pavlovand John Watson were the first contributors to
these behaviorist theories. Ivan Pavlov s theory came about by working a dog and John Watson
worked his classical conditioning with humans. John B. Watson thought that psychology should be
known as the science of observable behavior because according to his writings purely objective

The Sword And Shield Metaphor
Audience Driven, Comedian Approved
Richard Pryor once said, There s a thin line between to laugh with and to laugh at (A Z Quotes).
Leon Rappoport, a professor at Kansas State University, believed in the same thin line as Pryor.
Rappoport received his BA and MS at New York University, and completed his PhD in 1963 at the
University of Colorado(Kansas State University). He studied psychological sciences, and
concentrated his studies in decision making and human judgment, even writing a book called
Punchlines: The Case for Racial, Ethnic, and Gender Humor (Kansas State University). In another
book, The Sword and Shield Metaphor and Other Perspectives, Rappoport claims that humor
depends on how the audience receives humor. The audience can either be on the side of the
audience that is getting laughed at, or they can be on the side of the audience that is laughing
with other people. In the sword and shield metaphor the audience faces two contrasting sides that
deal with stereotype humor. The first side is the sword. The sword represents a weapon designed
to mock and insult minority groups. The second side is the shield, which can be represented to
serve the interests of minority groups. The shield side of the metaphor can be used in an effective
way by minorities as a way to claim pride in their identity. Together, these two sides can either
offend a group, or make them laugh. For example, Rappoport includes a joke to further prove that a
joke can be offensive,

Student Name: Huanbing Zhang
Student Number: 999611503
JGE 331 Book Review (what every environmentalist needs to know about capitalism) To begin this
critical review of this book, the brief and precise introduction and summary of the whole book is
needed before discussing with the authors main arguments. However, this book is mainly
emphasizing the magic relations between the capitalism and current environmental problems. In the
other words, while there are some people who argued that the capitalism thinking is necessarily
required for addressing all of the problem, not just environmental ones, human are encountering the
authors argued for the opposite side of that, especially in terms of such all of environmental issues
that the authors have listed in chapter one as rapid speed of the melting glacier, ocean acidification
due to the increase in carbon dioxide emissions, loss of biodiversity, ground water pollution and
deplete, changed natural land pattern (p. 14), the capitalism instead is a rooted problem that makes
these environmental issues worse. Following that, the authors gave the enough amounts of
evidences explaining why capitalism thinking changed the way in which people lived from getting
natural resources for their basic necessity to unlimited calling for the never enough for luxury life.
Therefore, as the needs for natural resources grew infinitely the authors thought that it is no doubt
that the environmental issues would be worse with capitalism thinking

Factory Farming During The United States
In the United States, it almost seems like you can t go far without running into a place that sells
some sort of low cost meat. In fact, in the United States you can t be further than 107 miles away
from the Golden Arches of McDonalds (Worley, 2009). With all this meat so available and so
affordable, it raises the question how it is possible to produce so much at such a low cost. The
way this food is produced at such large quantities for such low cost is a due in part of factory
farming. Factory farming has the ability to deliver food to millions and millions of people each year
at an astronomical rate, however the way it goes about accomplishing this comes at the expense of
the economy, the environment, the ethics of humanity, and the health of the consumer.
Factory farming is the method of raising large amounts of poultry, cattle and pigs in stringent,
indoor conditions and is responsible for majority of the meat Americans consume. According to the
USDA, they stated that In 2000, total meat consumption (red meat, poultry, and fish) reached 195
pounds (boneless, trimmed weight equivalent) per person (USDA.gov). However, at a time,
America didn t function on a factory farm controlled system. In the 1950s, the way the United States
looked when it came to farming was a lot different than it is today. Back then, independent family
farms used to be a common sight within the country. However, at the turn of the century in the early
2000s America made a change as industrial

  • 3. Persuasive Essay On Online Classes Most people think highly of online classes; get to work from home, get to work on a flexible schedule, and anyone can do it. Though no one has heard the cons of taking one. I personally took three semesters of online classes in high school and had a horrible experience. Because of loose scheduling, poor communication, and the focus needed, online classes are not suitable for procrastinators. To give a better understanding, I will summarize my experience with the class. Me, being a procrastinator, thought to myself: I ll just work on the weekends and if I don t finish the class by the end of the school year, I can finish within the first few weeks of summer. This was a god awful plan. Unsurprisingly, close to nothing was accomplished on the weekends. Friends would ask me to hang out every weekend, and I did every time. Why would I want to work on my class on the weekend when I could be having fun? I would later regret this decision. On the days I stayed home and could have worked on the class, I completed nothing. On these days, I would tell myself: I ll just complete what I didn t do this weekend next weekend. This rarely happened. Thus, the cycle of getting nothing accomplished started. I disregarded my class for most of the first semester of junior year. With only nine assignments out of eighty finished after the first semester of the school year, I was immensely behind. I told myself to get my act together during second semester and grind out these two semesters ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Secondly, political parties provide stability by keeping the party that is in control in check. In Separation of Parties, Not Powers, Daryl J. Levinson and Richard H. Double Muscling Selective breeding Selective breeding is a process where animal and plant breeders select individuals with desirable traits and breed them to produce offspring with these desirable traits, which are determined by desirable alleles in the selected organism s genotype. The United States government functions by applying the principles of federalism. The doctrinal cycle of federalism is when the state gain power for a while and then the power is disbursed to the national government for a while. The power is given back and forth between the states and the national government creating a cycle of federalism. The ideology of the Supreme Court is an important factor for determining what level of Congress will hold the power. A liberal Supreme Court is more likely to let the national government hold more power, while a conservative court is more likely to let the states hold more power. There are three types of federalism which are cooperative, dual, and new. The ideology of the Supreme Court affects what type of federalism that the country will live under. Cooperative federalism is when all three levels of government collectively interact to solve common problems. In cooperative federalism there is a strong national government and the Supreme Court allowed Congress to grow and become more powerful. • 26. Literature Review Literature Review Literature reviews can be of great benefit to social work practitioners. According to the Health and Care Profession s Council s standards of proficiency for social workers, practitioners must be able to engage in evidence informed practice (HCPC, 2017. p.11). This evidence includes research knowledge (Webber, 2014). The requirement for practitioners to draw on knowledge from developments in policy, practice and research is also reflected in the Professional Capabilities Framework for Social workers in England (The British Association of Social Work, 2012). Exploring research papers can assist with this process but with the increasing amount of published research reports, one can be overwhelmed by the amount of papers to digest and consider its application (Aveyard, 2014). As a literature review gives a clear picture of all the relevant literature on a specific topic, it proves a more convenient strategy for learning about the current context regarding an area of interest. Furthermore, Webber explains that research evidence is important for social work practice as it informs our knowledge on what works and does not work for service users (2014). This suggests that practitioners should endeavour to stay up to date with their knowledge of developments in social work as part of their professional development in order to ensure they can practice effectively with service users. • 27. Analysis Of Sisterhood Is Complicated By Ruth Padawer Every person deserves the right to experience a sense of community amongst people who share a common characteristic. A sense of fellowship amongst similar people allows a person to become more comfortable with who they are through interactions with others who are going through or have gone through the same triumphs or hardships. Without this feeling of belonging, one could be driven into insanity. Anxiety due to isolation and desolation could run rampant through a person s mind because of the loneliness that comes with a lack of communitymaking it an essential part of a humanhood. By definition however, community invites inimitability. Community can be defined as a group of unique individuals with shared characteristics. From that a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They come in each day to work and take a look at the news and choose what will be the subject of their show for that evening. With pen and paper in hand they sit down and study the news clips for anything they can find that funny, wrong, off, hypocritical, biased, contradictory, brushed over, hidden, or twisted into sounding good when it really is not. Most days the job entails poking a lot of fun at our government, our political leaders, our corporations, our silly rules and laws. Stewart s report was more narrow and personal in nature. While DeMarco s report may have had more facts, the question is was it actually effective? Did it make one want to stop in their tracts and find out more? Did it move one to any action, or was it simply informative. I have seen the traffic lady put more emotion in to her report each morning that DeMarco did hers. Perhaps it was her way of trying to remain neutral to the situation, but it came across as cold and careless instead. Her lack of emotion wouldn t make anyone stop in his or her tracks and pay attention. Stewart s report on the other hand, made you stop everything you were doing and focus intently on the screen. In this circumstance, Susie feels over stimulated due to her need for perfection; inevitably causing her to fall behind on assignments. Someone with severe anxiety splits their attention between their anxiety and the task, instead of focusing solely on the assignment. This is made apparent through Susie s lack of assignment completion. She is going through something known as the vicious cycle. Essentially, Susie becomes fixated on a specific part of her assignment which distracts her from completing the full project, leading to a poor grade and disappointment from Susie; causing more anxiety and another incomplete assignment due to the lack of focus. Therefore, Susie cannot perform at the optimal level. A simple task as mentioned earlier, notetaking; provides everyone with a tolerance for a higher arousal level. Notetaking is something that can be performed with less thought, effort, and stress which allows someone with anxiety to partake in the activity more easily. It has been shown that muscle synergies used by CNS in control of gait in healthy adults is similar when walking with different speeds or under different body mass. Analysis of synergies has also been applied to pathological gait and post stroke patients have shown fewer synergies compared to healthy subjects31. It is proposed that a few modules (up to 5) can explain muscle activations during walking in healthy subjects. The underlying assumption here is that modules reduce complexity of control for CNS and the application of synergies solves the problem of redundancy in the nervous system32, 33. It has been argued however in some other studies that the dimensionality of cortical activity is much higher than muscle activity and a system that can generate motor commands in a such high dimensional space is unlikely to get perplexed by the abundance of degrees of freedom at limb level34, 35. This means that the need to reduce number of degrees of freedom in control of gait is not justified. Another criticism to the application of muscle synergies is that the synergies might emerge as a result of the constraints of the task under study and not as a neural control ... The Indian constitution enshrines the right to individual freedom of religion, [but] also empowers the state to intervene in Hindu religious institutions. (Sen 16) The constitution, for instance, calls on the state to ban untouchability, an abhorrent Hindu practice, establishing affirmative action to help certain disadvantaged religious groups and puts in place separate personal laws for different religious groups. (Sen 16) These policies allow institutions like the government, and the courts to intervene in communal issues, making the government a player in conflicts like the Babri Masjid. The Congress party, while a secular party, was consequently involved in decision making that would favour either the Hindus or the minorities. Indias Supreme Court was also involved in legislating on religious affairs. As Sen writes, India s version of secularism can be traced back to the debates in the Constituent Assembly, where the constitution was drafted in the late 1940s. The Assembly saw a lot of debate over what form this secularism would take. There were several voices in the Assembly, including that of B.R. The pet hears the bell and over time is conditioned that when the bell rings its dinner time thus begins to salivate, and eventually learns to be conditioned to responding to the bell in a specific manner. The bases was that neutral stimulus would be put together with an excitatory one and over time the neutral stimulus would, at some point down the line elicit the response that was associated with the original unlearned response. Pavlov later added an element known as the nonexcitatory, conditioned stimulus which is but together with an unconditioned stimulus (Lautenheiser 1999). Classic Conditioning can also be known as stimulus response, conditioned response, respondent condition as these are the behaviors that take place during the Classical Conditioning. Leon Rappoport, a professor at Kansas State University, believed in the same thin line as Pryor. Rappoport received his BA and MS at New York University, and completed his PhD in 1963 at the University of Colorado(Kansas State University). He studied psychological sciences, and concentrated his studies in decision making and human judgment, even writing a book called Punchlines: The Case for Racial, Ethnic, and Gender Humor (Kansas State University). The audience can either be on the side of the audience that is getting laughed at, or they can be on the side of the audience that is laughing with other people. In the sword and shield metaphor the audience faces two contrasting sides that deal with stereotype humor. The first side is the sword. The sword represents a weapon designed to mock and insult minority groups. The second side is the shield, which can be represented to serve the interests of minority groups. With all this meat so available and so affordable, it raises the question how it is possible to produce so much at such a low cost. The way this food is produced at such large quantities for such low cost is a due in part of factory farming. Factory farming has the ability to deliver food to millions and millions of people each year at an astronomical rate, however the way it goes about accomplishing this comes at the expense of the economy, the environment, the ethics of humanity, and the health of the consumer.
