Vishal Sikka is the CEO and MD of Infosys. He was born in 1967 in Madhya Pradesh, India to an Indian Railway officer and teacher. He received his bachelor's degree in computer engineering from Maharaja Savairao University and his PhD from Stanford University. Sikka worked at Peregrine Systems, Xerox Research, and was the CEO of Bodha before joining SAP in 2002 where he spent 12 years as an executive board member leading various technology initiatives. In 2014, Sikka was appointed the CEO of Infosys with a mandate to focus on innovation and lead the company's transition towards new technologies and business models.

announced him as a whole-time CEO and MD on
12 June 2014.
• Receives $5.08 Million (30 Crores) and stock
options worth $2 million as annual compensation.
• Will be appointed for a five year period ending
June 13, 2019.
