3. How To Graduate High School
When I was in high school I didn t feel like doing any work because I used to see it
as a waste of time so in high school freshmen year I had almost all f s on my report
card. My teachers told me that I wasn t going to be anything in life and my family
would joke around and tell me I would work for minimum wage. So I told everyone
that I was going to change my life around and graduate high schoolbut the way I was
going they didn t believe that I could ever change. No one really believed me and
they thought I was just trying to make myself feel better.
I ignored everyone who thought that I couldn t do it and started taking school serious

I went to talk to my counselor s, and asked them what I needed to graduate high

faster and catch up with the seniors. they let me stay after school and use the
computer at the library to take the online courses.
After a couple of months of online courses and hard work. I was all caught up with
the seniors. The end of the school year was close and it was the moment I was
waiting for. When I was walking that stage all my teachers, friends, and even some
of my family was surprised. My family knew that I was graduating one day ahead
only because I gave them the tickets to show up.
This experience changed my whole life around. Before I went through this

life I didn t have anything to look forward to. I was an angry person because I
always blamed other people for my mistakes, and I thought everyone was against me
because they don t want to see me succeed. I realized that at the end of day no one
actually cares about your life more than yourself. I became motivated and interested

BANKRUPTCY This article is intended to provide some general bankruptcy
information and is certainly not intended to replace the tailored information a
debtor will receive from an attorney. Bankruptcy is governed by Federal Law (Title

type of bankruptcy) but the bankruptcy laws of each state also play an important
part; consequently, though there are bankruptcy kits, you will probably need a
lawyer to successfully file and a lawyer search should focus on a bankruptcy
attorney or bankruptcy law firm licensed in the debtor s state of residence. The

household goods and appliances, tools of your trade, books, a limited amount of

debtor fails the mean test, his/her case will be dismissed and/or may have to

debt relief, there are exceptions: if a debtor is found to have concealed some
financial information and/or records, the court will not grant a discharge of debt;
also, the court will not discharge certain types of debts such as student loans,
alimony, child support and some taxes. In addition, secured creditors have more
protection than unsecured creditors; for example, a creditor with a secured interest
in the debtor s car can repossess the car even if the debt is discharged, unless the
debtor reaffirms the debt or surrenders the car. The debt relief provided by Chapter 7
Bankruptcy has significant consequences and can be granted only once every 8

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentleman.

democratizing communication ever to tie people across the globe together. Anyone

The Communications Decency Act (CDA) was written to stop and or target online
obscenity and child pornography, however, these types of speech were previously
illegal under other current federal laws. According to the CDA it is a crime to send,
display or view any content considered to be that is considered indecent or patently
offensive. Problem arises in the useable definitions of indecent and patently offensive.
In the past, the CDA has banned and attempted to prosecute constitutionally protected
speech on the Internet on topics like sexuality, reproduction, civil liberties, and
human rights. There were multiple lawsuits and court cases after President Clinton
signed this bill into law in 1996. Various online communication users and providers
from political, educational, medical, artistic, and social value venues were all
possible targets for prosecution under CDA. This government censorship was
unnecessary because there are already laws and filtering technologies in place to
protect children in schools and libraries. Parents also have access to screening and

also limit computer access and be diligent about scrutinizing where their children go

The purpose of the sheep brain dissection is to appreciate the complex structure of the
brain in three dimensions. Also list, identify, and describe the important structures of
the sheep brain and compare with those of the human brain.
Materials:
Preserved sheep brain
Dissection tray
Scalpel
Scissors
Pins
Tweezers
Gloves
Safety glasses
Procedure:
Obtain a preserved sheep brain from the bucket and place this on a dissection tray.
Examine the outer surface of the brain and locate the dura matter (the outer toughest
layer of the brain).
Remove the dura matter.
Place the brain on dissecting tray and position its ventral surface upward. Identify
olfactory nerve, optic nerves, optic chiasm, pons, medulla oblongata, and spinal cord.
Position the brain with its ventral surface down and identify cerebral hemispheres,
cerebral lobes (frontal, parietal, temporal, and occipital), cerebellum, longitudinal
fissure, and transverse fissure.
In same position (with the ventral surface downward), make a longitudinal cut along
the longitudinal fissure using a scalpel all the way down, and separate the cerebral
hemispheres.
Identify the corpus callosum, white and gray matters of the brain, thalamus,

9. Descriptive Essay On Fast Food
In our quickly growing society, full of capitalism, advertisements seem to have
become the backdrop to our bustling lives. Though we seem to overlook their
presence, throughout all American cities, Ads are what fill all the empty spaces,
from store front windows, to big billboards in the skies. These brightly colored
pictures, that flood our vision as we drive to work, or even stroll down the mall,
have a more influential effect on our daily lives then we realize. A perfect example
of this is with the foodindustry.
Fast Food is becoming a routine stop for many Americans, as they go about their day.
This is causing health to also be on the minds of consumers. You d think this would
defer people from continuing their daily, fast food pit stop, but in reality, it s the
industries that are changing their own advertisements to promote their healthy
options instead. When you take a moment to look at the ads promoting your favorite
food brands, you ll start to notice the emphasis on things such as calorie count,
ingredients, and freshness of the food. You can clearly see these attributes when
analyzing the three different posters, for three different food products, that I have
selected.
The first poster, is an image of a Heinz ketchup bottle, created using fresh slices of
tomatoes. The second poster is promoting a Veggie Burger from McDonald s by
forming the image of a cow using various vegetables. While the last poster is for the
popular smoothie brand, Naked, in which you see a healthy looking woman running,
with the words Our machines don t run on added sugar or preservatives and neither
will you .
While analyzing the first poster, for Heinz ketchup, your eyes quickly realizes the
well known glass Heinz bottle to be made up entirely of thick slices of tomatoes.
The rest of the poster is merely a red background with a small Heinz slogan at the
bottom, which reads, No one grows ketchup like Heinz . The poster is simple, with
only two focal points, the bottle, and the slogan. This forces the consumers to only
focus on what the producer wants them to gather, which is, in this case, the idea of
natural and fresh ingredients. The simplicity of the ad also seems to represent that the

Verbal interpersonal cultural Cross cultural awareness
In modern society, interpersonal communications refer to communication betwee two
or more people. Meanwhile the verbal interpersonal communication is one of the
major element for interpersonal communication, such as sounds and word choice, and
it is the oral, spoken and unwritten way of the communication (Beebe, 2002). During
the process of communication, most people will meet the situattion about the cross
cultural. cross cultural can be defined as the interaction and comparison of different
cultures (Beebe, 2002). Therefore, the verbal interpersonal communication and cross
cultural awareness will be useful. In the following, I will reflect on the verbal
interpersonal cultural based my experience and analyse how to develop cross cultural
awareness.
Due to the cultural differences, some people who come from different counties will
often have some misunderstanding in the team work or cooperation. I also meet this
kind of problems in the presentation s teamwork. In the process of cooperation, we
have a lots of verbal communication, while some questions have different means for
us. For example, where are you going? and do you eat dinner? , all of these questions
are just greetings, but for my team members, these questions are their privacy. Thus,

therefore, have an extremely important job in creating and maintaining these laws.

12. Bone Age Analysis Essay
Abstract
Image processing has been widely used in medical research over the past few
decades. Estimation of age is one of the emerging topic in medical imaging. Bone
age assessment (BAA) is an automated process to evaluating the level of skeletal
maturation in children. Based on a radiological examination of skeletal development
of left hand wrist with atlas, the bone age is assessed and then compared with the
chronological age (CA). A difference between these two values indicate abnormalities
in the skeletal development. Manual methods of BAA are time consuming. This
paper deals with the implementation and analysis of different segmentation
techniques that can be used for extract different bones in the wrist like distal, middle

These measurements may vary from scientist to scientist and from observation to
observation. The manual measurements may lead to errors also time consuming
processes. There is no standard clinical procedure in bone age assessment, even if
the most used methods are: 1) The Greulich and Pyle (G P) method [10]. 2) The
Tanner and Whitehouse method [12]. Both methods rely on X Ray images. The
Tanner Whitehouse method, instead of considering the hand as a whole as in the
G P method, uses a set of bones, whose standard maturity varies according to age
population and this makes the TW method less affected by the variability of the
analysis performed by the operator. Bone age assessment (BAA) is performed
usually by comparing an X ray of left hand wrist with an atlas of known sample
bones. The system overview is as shown in
13. Causes And Effects Of Anxiety
Anxiety IS a huge problem among the young generations in today s world.
Affecting those from all ages, many cases originating from around teenage years. I
m sure many of you have had a moment in your life where anxiety has withered its
way into your world affecting the way you do things. Many cases of anxietybegin in
school, which in incredibly inconvenient as the students affected by it will be
wanting to succeed. Anxiety itself is a natural human response that serves a purpose.
Therefore, I believe when it gets out of control we should not think of getting rid of
it all together but more to keep it healthy. As to the causes, though there are many, my
top 4 would have to be bullying, school pressure, the future and fearof failing. What
these can do is create unhealthy thinking patterns which becomes a serious problem
among young people when it starts disrupting their regular routine. I personally think
these thinking patterns can very easily turn into diagnosed disorders such as PTSD,
GAD.
Bullying is a very common cause of anxiety among young people today. People
who are affected by some form of bullying often results them having recurring
thinking patterns e.g. experiencing flashbacks, having nightmares, panic attacks,
and a lot of them live in the fear that they will experience it again which in some
ways never switches these patterns off. I believe that because anxiety has this effect
where it fully takes control of people s lives, it should be recognized. I m sure
14. Robert F Kennedy Speech Analysis
During the history of America, many tragedies have occurred. In times of tragedies,
important figures in societies rise up to the occasion and console the people and
motivate them for the upcoming positive future. Two such examples of important
figures are Bill Clinton and Robert F. Kennedy, with the events being the Oklahoma
bombing and the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. Both of the political
figures provided encouraging speeches that employed the same effective appeals in
many different ways. In their speeches, Clinton and Kennedy use ethos, logos, and
pathos to unite the divided country, at the time, and appease it of the hate conjured
from tragedy. Pathos is the usage of vivid language and emotionally corresponding
words that cause the audience to feel one emotion or another strongly. During the
Oklahoma bombing tragedy, a lot of people were killed and many in the audience
during the speech, had family members, friends, and acquaintances that died or
severely injured in the incident. Clinton stated we pledge to do all we can to help
you heal the injured, to rebuild this city, and to bring to justice those who did this
evil. and, today our nation joins with you in grief. We mourn with you. We share your

15. 1984 and Nazism
Nobody can disagree with the fact that George Orwell s vision, in his book 1984,
didn t come true. Though many people worried that the world might actually come
to what Orwell thought, the year 1984 came and went and the world that Orwell
created was something people did not have to worry about anymore. Many people
have wondered what was happening in Orwell s life and in his time that would
inspire him to create this politically motivated book. A totalitarian world where one
person rules and declares what is a crime and what is not, is something many people
would have been scared of a lot. The totalitarianism in 1984 is very similar to the
Nazismthat was occurring in Germany with Hitler. This could have been the key
thing that motivated... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example from 1984 would be Mr. Charrington, the shop owner of a secondhand
store where Winston buys a diary and a glass paperweight. He is not what he
seems when he captures Winston and Julia, Winston s lover, in the room above the
shop, with a uniform of the Thought Police on. The Thought Police reminds me
very much of Hitler s secret police, the Gestapo. They were a group chosen to
investigate and combat all tendencies dangerous to the state (Bradley 1). Many
people were scared of them because they would arrest people and make them
guilty of a crime, and without a trial, they would go straight to a concentration
camp or some other place. Many people, like churchmen, had to be cautious
because anything they wrote or said would be noted by the Gestapo (Bradley 1).
Orwell couldn t have thought of everything involving the Thought Police by
himself, which is why the Gestapo is a great inspiration to create something like the
Thought Police. Living the life of a member of the Outer Party is not easy, just like
it was not easy being a Jew in Nazi Germany. The concentrations camps and the
many race laws made it difficult for many people. The Jews could not do things like
take a pre college exam, be in a Nazi youth group, or be in the work service because
of the race laws (Crane 53). This is kind of like the proles, where there were things
that they could not have and do that The Party could. Just like in 1984, where
16. Women In WWII
During WWII, the role of Canadian women in the labour force greatly amended the
rise of women, in terms of their struggle to achieve equal status with men in society.
The position of women in Canada had always been placed limitations on in order for
them to fit with the female stereotypes of the time. When WWII came around, things
began to change, and those changes caused differences in the lives of women. In
Canada, many women took on nontraditional military positions, dared social
stereotypes and turned down traditional roles after the war. This effectively
demonstrates how the participation of Canadian women in WWII was one of many
crucial steps towards the start of genderequality in Canada.

Primarily, women participated as an important role in WWII, and even after the
war they continued to remain in the work force to achieve equal status with men in
society. By 1950, the overall rate of women s participation in the workforce had
risen to 32%, a net gain of 16% from 1940 1950. During WWI, women were mainly
working in factories, while the men were at war. But, when war ended, women
were forced to return the work to men again, since they were not considered as
persons, therefore they had no say in society. However, after WWII, women
refused to return to traditional roles like doing household chores. This can be
shown from the steady increase of women in the workforce after WWII. It triggered
gender equality, since women were treated similar to men, in terms that this time
women were not forced to return their work and had the right to continue working.
Additionally, women refused to return to traditional roles, since many wars
occurred after the WWII and they still wanted to remain playing a nontraditional
role in the military. Susan Beharriell, who served in the Canadian air force,
remembers being told she couldn t fly in a high performance jet aircraft because my
female parts would be damaged. It was quite a thrill breaking the sound barrier at
100 feet, climbing straight up and doing rolls and

The Stonewall Rebellion or Stonewall Riots was a series of violent riots that took
place between gay and trans activists, drag queens, and other patrons of The
Stonewall Inn against the police after a raid had been carried out by the Sixth
Precinct police. The days and rebellions that followed are monumental moments in
LGBT and World history.
For New York s gay and trans communities the 1960 s marks a turning point in their
history; Sodomy had been reduced to a misdemeanour, with a maximum sentence of
six months in prison, the anti gay accommodation rules of the New York State Liquor

The Stonewall Inn had been registered as a private Bottle Bar which meant patrons
were expected to bring their own liquor. The Genovese Family would often bribe
the Sixth Precinct to turn a blind eye to the activities occurring in inn. However, in
the early hours of June 28th 1969 and readied with a warrant for storing and selling
liquor without a licence; the police prepared to raid The Stonewall Inn.
The raid began just after 3a.m, and the police found the illegal liquor and began

Smith, a village voice reporter who stayed with the police throughout the riot

The Roper v. Simmons Civil Liberties Case As children, we have all stepped that
boundary between right and wrong. From stealing money to shoplifting to fighting,
we have all made our parents frustrated, made poor decisions, and perhaps, even made
a egregious mistake. However, when does stepping that boundary become
irremediable? Can the government punish minors under the same criteria they do
with adults? And most importantly, what does the United States Constitution say?
These are all questions that both the Missouri Supreme Court and the United States

constructionist, or one that strictly adheres to the Constitution, this decision was
consistent with his beliefs because nowhere in the Constitution does it say that the
execution of minors is a cruel or unusual punishment. He reasoned that it was justified
based on the defendant s actions. Justice Sandra Day O Connor is also a strict
constructionist, believing in loyalty to the original Constitution and also in judicial
restraint, where she tends to support previous judicial rulings. In this case, she was
somewhat consistent, since she voted against Simmons as well and voted to uphold
the previous ruling (Stanford v. Kentucky), which ruled that the death sentence of
minors was permissible. In fact, she even responded to the argument that many
international laws have denounced execution of minors and death penalty in general
by stating that international law should have no relevance on the supreme law of the

19. Remyelination Case Studies
Please consider my application for the position of DBT Cambridge Lectureship. I am
currently working as a senior postdoctoral fellow at the Cambridge Stem Cell
Institute. My interdisciplinary research focuses on identifying novel approaches to
stimulate central nervous system (CNS) myelin regeneration (remyelination) by
endogenous adult neural stem cells. Myelin is a fatty membrane structure around
nerve cells and serves to increase the speed of electrical communication between
neurons. Myelin is a target of many chronic diseases including, stroke, inflammation,
immune disorders, CNS trauma, metabolic disorders, nutritional deficiencies (such as
a lack of vitamin B12) and most notably Multiple Sclerosis. Remyelination in the
CNS often fails... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

22. Essay on The History and Present Use of the Globe Theatre
Have you ever wondered what it would it feel like to walk inside and see the
beautiful architect in the Globe Theatre? The significance of the Globe theatre is that
play rights change how they portrayed the stories to the audience. The Globe
Theatres were popular in Shakespearian time and Shakespeare s plays still occur
there every day. The Globe theatrewas built in 1599 in Southwark, London. The
theatre is a 20 sided circle and 3 stories tall building. The theatre was built out of
frame, plaster, bricks, and thatching. The theatre also can hold thousands of people at
one time. Many of Shakespeare s plays are preformed there including Julius Caesar,
Macbeth, Othello, King Lear, and Hamlet. The Theatre was for performances but also

The 2nd Globe Theatre was built in June of 1614 in the same spot the 1st Globe
Theatre was located. This Theatre stood all the way up until the year of 1644
when the Puritans closed down all theatres. Instead of leaving the site empty
apartment buildings were built where the 2nd Globe theatre was. Finally the 3rd
Globe theatre was built in 1996 and opened in 1997. This Globe Theatre was built
approximately 225 yards from the original Globe Theatre. The 3rd Globe Theatre is
still standing today and is visited by thousands of people each day.
Now you would think that the First and Last Globe theatre would be totally
different but really that are only a few differences. For instance, the first Globe
Theatre had a flag on top of the heaven but the Third doesn t. The theatre today has
bright posters hanging in the hallways now for advertisement and the 1st theatre
did not. The new theatre doubles for a brothel. This is where the biggest gamble to
be had depends if the play being performed will be a success with the audience or
fail. But one similarity between the 2 is they both have the same style. How you
may ask. Well, when the beginning of building of the 3rd Globe theatre, the
workers found old pieces of the 2nd globe theatre. So the workers and architects
took those pieces and designed the new Globe theatre by what was left of the old
one. There were probably some more differences between the two, but both are so
extraordinary that it really
23. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Solid Waste
2. METHODS
The main technological choices available for processing/ treatment and disposal of
solid waste are composting, vermicomposting, anaerobic digestion/ biomethanation,
incineration, gasification and pyrolysis, plasma pyrolysis, production of Refuse
Derived Fuel (RDF), also called as pelletization and sanitary landfilling/landfill gas
recovery. Not all technologies are equally good. Each one of them has benefits and
disadvantages.
2.1 COMPOSTING :
Composting is a technology known in India since times immemorial. Composting is
the decomposition of organic matter by microorganism in warm, moist, aerobic and
anaerobic environment. Farmers have been using compost made out of cow dung and
other agro waste. The compost made out of urban heterogeneous waste is found to
be of higher nutrient value as compared to the compost made out of cow dung and
agro waste. Composting of Solid Waste is, therefore, the most simple and cost
effective technology for treating the organic fraction of solid waste. Full scale
commercially viable composting technology is already demonstrated in India and is
in use in several cities and towns. Its application to farm land, tea gardens, fruit
orchards or its use as soil conditioner in parks, gardens, agricultural lands, etc., is
however, limited on account of poor promoting.
Main benefits of composting include improvement in soil texture and augmenting of
micronutrient deficiencies. It also increases moisture holding capacity of the soil and

the playground. He grabbed a orange basketball that was sitting by the fence on the
opposite side of the playground, and ran back to the basketball area. Alex was
standing against the wall facing the basketball hoop, and he told Cash, Can I play
with you? Cash responded, NO! we are not friends, and don t touch my ball.

Based on the observations completed, the children need adult guidance in
managing feelings and impulses. For example, Cash did not want to share the ball
with Alex or Liam, they went to the teacher, and told her about the incident; The
teacher talk to Cash about the importance of sharing and playing with his peers,
since there are not enough basketballs for every child. Initially he was resistant,
however, he eventually did. Also, they notice feelings and behavior from their
peers and seek assistance in resolving peer conflict, especially in disagreements.
One example is: When Alex had the ball and try to make a basket, he missed it.
Cash ran to get it, and Alex communicated that, it was his ball, Cash threw the ball
at his face, and Alex began to cry, and look for adult assistance. Finally, they seek to
cooperate with adult instructions, but they struggle with self control when they are
frustrated and upset. One example is: When Cash threw the ball at Alex out of anger
because Alex wanted it back, Cash looked upset when Alex started crying, and called

My film I watched was Gladiator. It was an action movie as opposed to a
documentary about war. It was based in Rome in the early times.
In the movie, the emperor of Rome was Marcus Aurelius. He was a very victorious
general. After his death he wanted Maximus to take the throne, and he wasn t even
his son. Aurelius s son was very power hungry and wanted to rule. His plan was to
rule Rome and take the throne. He wanted to murder the last ruler Marcus Aurelius
and then execute Maximus, which was the new emperor after so then he would be
next in line. Maximus then escaped the execution but was then sold into slavery.
From there he was forced into being a gladiator. He was trained by Proximo. Later
they were sent off to Rome to perform a lot of

STATISTICS AND DECISION MAKING IN HRM
(word count 1155)
The word statistics has a Latin origin where the word status means state. Statistics is
defined as the science that helps us understand how to collect, organize and interpret
numbers or other information (data) about some topic (Bennett, et al., 2003). It is a
discipline of data collection and summarizing to aid understanding and decision
making. It is also concerned with evaluation of the present status and predicting the
future (Stockberger, 1996). Statistics studies the nature of a relationship between two
or more variables of interest by using the numerical statistical data. Moreover only
statistics makes it possible to analyze these relationships (Kachigan, 1986).

From the company management perspective statistics help managers to convert data
into information which enables to accept informed decisions (Levin and Rubin,
1997). Thus statistics helps to manage the organizational functions in a company.
Such management science procedures as project evaluation and review techniques
and critical path method help to control and plan not only company projects and
initiatives but take adequate people related decisions belonging to the functional area
of Human Resource Management. HRM function involves activities such as
recruitment, training, performance assessment, reward and motivation. Productivity
of these activities to a great extent is predetermined by the wide use of statistical
tools. By using statistics, HR forecasts the needs in terms of required number of
employees and their level of qualification. For the recruitment of new staff the tests
are conducted to assess the candidates on merit basis. Validity of various HR tests
can be assessed by means of statistical tools. Statistical analysis of test results helps to
reveal deficiencies in employee training programs and to assess the compensation
program to determine whether they are reliable and support the organisation s
performance objectives. Regular employee performance appraisals based on
statistical methods are important for making HR decisions regarding compensation
and promotion.

31. Burmese Days Analysis
Burmese Days was the book that took the history lecture and made it real life. To
me, there is a big difference between being told something happened and realizing
that it happened. History gives you a look back perspective. You have all the
information so you are able to make an educated decision and judge the people of
the time for what they did. Burmese Days allowed for a glimpse into the time period
without that the rose covered glasses. We were in the middle of a British Colony and
seeing everything that it could entail. In Burma, much like the other colonies, the
British have made themselves the superior race. In Burmese Days Orwell
showcases two native characters that have high ranks vocationally one Burmese, U
Po Kyin, and one Indian, Dr. Veraswami, but because of their race are seen as
inferior. Throughout the novel, these two have the goal of being elected a member of
the English club, where the British people spend most of their free time avoiding the
natives and pretending to be in England. The thing about either native being elected
though, neither one of them planned on being an active member of the club. In fact,
they knew it would be more of a symbolic membership.
This idea of a symbolic membership inside of a little British society inside of Burma
seemed to contradict the idea of the white man s burden that the British had been
forcing down the world s throat as the built their empire. It was their duty to help
these savages and children of

33. Nat Ackerman
Right away in the story we observe that Nat Ackerman is an average person, boring
and monotone even. Usually we see that the protagonist of plays, stories and other
works is heroic, smart and friendly to all...Not really the case in this play. Nat
comes off as rude to me. He doesn t see Death as others would, with extreme fear,
respect and perhaps hatred as well. This is evident in expressions such as: Don t
but me. Listen Mister, it s very late. That s too bad for you. You should pay
attention . For me, it is like he belittles him. Something that I also noticed about
Nat, is his casual talk with Death, which in turn surprises the readers. When I was
reading this play, it alarmed and disturbed me quite a bit. We see that he holds a
comfortable air when it comes to their conversation, something that most of us
would not have in a situation like this... Other aspect of Nat s personality is that he
is quite ungrateful. After Death had granted him an extra day of life (taking in
consideration his feelings and wishes) Nat still had the nerve to call him a schlep to
his friend. He s rudeness and ungrateful attitude very clear. We observe his lack of
humbleness towards Death also... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is very funny, witty and I believe he is the comical relief of the play. He s
clumsy and distracted, but considerably nice. For being the antagonist, he sure is a
charming fellow... I noticed that many of the stage directions were directed at his
clumsiness. For example: And, on cue, we hear a terrific crash. He fumbles through
pocket... Plus, he is easily persuaded with a game of Gin Rummy which for me, can
easily describe of a simpleton s way of solving things. On another note, I liked very
much how the stage directions didn t interfere with the play at all, rather they
improve the visual and enhance the experience we the readers go through. The stage
directions mostly included Death s distractions which added humor to overall

35. Police Misconduct On The Street Still Continue
Throughout...
Over the years, law enforcement has been involved in many of unethical events
that caused the community to lose trust in them. There are many of reasons why it
is difficult for the police to have interaction with the citizens of the community.
One reason the community do not trust the police is because of racial profiling.
Racial profiling has been going on for years and now the community is getting
tired of it. An example of racial profiling is a group of black teenagers being pulled
over because of the kind of car they are driving. Along with this act and many of
other policecorruption acts has caused the community to question themselves about
law enforcement. Many of concerns about police misconducton the street still
continue throughout the community. Cities across the globe have experienced
intense altercations stemming from deadly shootings of citizens and allegations of
excessive use of force. Police are sworn in to Protect and Serve everyone in the
community no matter what racethey are. Less than a week after Katrina hit New
Orleans on September 4, 2005, police executed 40 year old Ronald Madison and
17 year old James Brissette and injured four others. Five of the New Orleans covered
up the corruption by lying saying that people was shooting when they arrived at the
scene. When the officers arrived at the Danziger Bridge they just started shooting at
unarmed victims. Officers covered up the killing by planting a gun at the scene,
fabricated witnesses and
36. Similarities And Differences Between Blade Runner And
The...
There are many shifts of different moods, tones, and themes that contrast with the
film Blade Runner and book Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep such as the
characters, scenes/scenarios, plot lines. There are very little similarities kept
between the film and book besides a few basic plot lines of the story. This may stem
from the fact that the director of the film Blade RunnerDenis Villeneuve wasn t
trying to recreate a movie version of the book but instead was inspired by the book
enough to create something that contained some of the story s main ideas.
One of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep main theme throughout the book is
the human race desperately grasping to their decaying world. The tale depicts the
faded lines between real and imaginary. An extremely noticeable difference
between the book and film would be the scenery in which the story takes place. In
the book it describes the environment as an empty warzone with ash residue
infecting and taking lives of citizens on earth. Following the world tragedy the
humans that survived agreed to a new way of life called mercerism. This lifestyle
(religion) kept humans from killing people and animals. Mercerism however only
protected mankind and animals. If you were not human or alive you were to be
scared of being frowned upon or killed like the rest. There was a test set in place
called the Voight Kompf to test if you were human or alive. The test was to question
your empathy as if you were human enough. Although
37. Meursault Point Of View
The very foundation of existentialism is that an individual decides and shapes their
own fate. This can be seen in The Stranger vividly, through the central character,
Meursault, and his actions, feelings and thoughts. Together, they make this piece a
true existentialist piece, as they put the reader in the point of view of someone who
chooses what they want to do. In this case, the point of view is that of Meursault who
demonstrates his sociopathic tendencies and ultimately alienates himself from his
surroundings. A sociopath is simply someone who is unable to truly conform to,
relate to, or adapt to society s ways, norms, and attitudes. They are simply unable to
connect with the rest of society, and therefore act much differently compared to
normal individuals. Not only that, but the way they think about things usually
revolves around themselves, which results in choices that only benefits them. In this
way... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To further elaborate, Meursault seemed ready and prepared to face death. This can
be seen when towards the ending he expresses, To feel it so like myself, indeed, so
brotherly, made me realize that I d been happy, and that I was happy still (Camus
76). He claims that he has always been happy and for him he does not care for life
or death, they are both the same to him. Also the fact that he has always been happy
is because to him he controls his fate and does not change for societal
38. Reflection Of Braid Reflection
Braid Reflection Experiences are what I believe help shape each person and affect
our everyday moves based upon individual experiences, beliefs, or goals. The
experiences I encounter distinguish my views and principles about society, without
these experiences life would be unfounded. Social networks are created through
personal experiences within people. This leads to our value system, which is
meant to be defined within our behavior, culture, or decision making. As a person
that did not put much thought into what my values, culture identity, or goals were
before college I believe it has been a big factor into opening my eyes as I have
progressed throughout college. My family and peers have been a big influence in my
upbringing. These people have been a part of my growing epistemology through my
education, religious values, and planning for my future career. For the past 15 years
I used all my energy and all of my parent s time devoted to my love for the game of
soccer. Weeks spent driving me to games and practices, money spent for club fees,
and support given to me to achieve my goal of making my soccer career continue
throughout college. Nothing else mattered to me besides pursuing my soccer
career to help pay for my education. I decided to play for Chaffey College my
freshman year and my plan was to transfer to a University with a scholarship to pay
my parent back for supporting financially throughout my 15 years. However, my
life completely when I obtained a dangerous concussion that led me to have to give
up my soccer career for the benefit of my health. I was very depressed and
confused, and began to doubt my abilities, my religious beliefs, my future because
I was scared of letting my parents down or letting myself down for not achieving
my goal to play throughout college. I was born and raised Catholic but I never
really committed myself to devoting my time to church or acknowledging my
religious beliefs, but as I felt like I needed church the most after my first year of
college I was able to realize it was a place I felt heard at. This experience, giving up
my entire dream of what I thought would create my future, with my family and
peers by my side shaped my beliefs completely as it made me
39. The Book Thief Analysis
The Messenger is a young adult novel by Australian writer Markus Zusak who also
wrote The Book Thief. Ed Kennedy is a very normal 19 year old; he has no major
achievements and he works as a cab driver. After he saves a bank full of people
being robbed he starts receiving playing cards but only aces with addresses and
clues in the mail. As he figures more out about these card he start to realize what
he has to do to help the people in his community whether or not this hurts him. The
book was also written in a very interesting format. Markus Zusak wrote The
Messenger with an Australian tone to it meaning he used a lot of australian lingo
which made it hard to understand what is happening at some points in the book.
For example on, Christmas Ed goes outside to and buys an ice cream because it
was really hot out. Things like this could be a bit confusing at times. There was an
adaptation of the book written in American English that was released in the U.S.
The writing style in this book had another interesting thing about it. In the middle of
a line of dialogue, the author would put a line of thought or something like that
which could make it confusing at times but it also made the story more interesting.
Markus Zusak wrote this book in such an amazing way and gave such a good
message. I think that this book was really about not underestimating yourself and the
fact that you can be more than you think you are. In the beginning of the book Ed is
described as a below average

What if everything you ve ever known, suddenly changed in the blink of an eye?
Well, the strongest and one of the most important characters doesn t know that the

himself that Napoleon was always right and he refused to believe anything else. All

41. Examples Of Substitute For Heavy Cream
Substitute for Heavy Cream
Heavy cream is a staple ingredient that many cooks and professional chefs use.
However, it does have a high fat content and some people would like to find out if
there is any substitute for heavy cream that is healthier but is just as good to the
taste. Others also look for a heavy cream substitute when they run out of their
favorite ingredient.
Part 1: Universal Substitute for Heavy Cream
A universal heavy cream substitute is fat free half and half, which is considerably
healthier, since it has fewer calories and less fat per cup. It also whips a fluffy
topping, just like 1% milk, and is good for thickening soups, pastas, and sauces,
while giving food a creamy flavor.
To substitute for one cup of heavy cream in your recipe, use 1/6 cup butter and 7/8 ...

For a great heavy cream substitute, you can also whip some 1% milk, using a stick
blender, a hand held electric beater, or a stand mixer. Some people use a milk
frother, a special tool used in making espresso to make whipping easier. However,
your topping will be bubbly and not as thick as heavy whipped cream. To make better
froth, microwave the milk until it boils, then whip it again. Add some stevia
sweetener to mimic the flavor of dessert toppings, without increasing the calories.
Part 3: Cooking Substitute for Heavy Cream
Heavy cream is often used in pastas, soups, and sauces to create a thick consistency
and a full bodied flavor, with all the fat and calories. To achieve a similar taste and
consistency with fewer calories, use low fat cream cheese instead, using half the
amount called for in the recipe. To reduce the calories further, mix 1% milk with
cornstarch (at a ratio of 1 cup to 1 tablespoon), and use as a heavy cream substitute.
Milk and cornstarch thicken food and works better in sweet dishes, unlike cream
cheese which may have a sour
42. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Derivatives
Derivatives are financial contracts whose price is either linked to the price of an
underlying asset, commodity, rate, index or the occurrence or significance of a
certain event. The phrase derivative originated from how the price of these contracts
is derived from the price of some underlying commodity, security or index or the
magnitude of an event. The set of financial instruments that include futures, forwards,
options and swaps are referred to by the term Derivative. A derivative can be
combined with a security or loan which will be then called a hybrid instrument or
alternatively a structured security and structured financing. (Dodd, R., 2002).

the organized derivative exchange markets. Contrary to the OTC markets that allow

43. Essay on Pedophiles and the Criminal Justice System
When one thinks of a young child one thinks of joy, innocence, and being carefree.
Too often than not though that innocence is taken from a young child through sexual
abuse. Studies have shown over and over again that a child who has been sexually
abused carries those scars with them into adulthood, many times affecting adult
relationships. When a person thinks of a child molester they see in their minds the
dirty old man image. This is not the case in most abuse cases. Usually the child
knows the person that is going to harm them. The offenderis usually someone that the

Most psychological research on the personalities of pedophiles consists of only
clinical descriptions and case presentations. Bell and Hall represented the clinical
approaches to the study of the personalities of pedophiles. They analyzed the
dreams of a pedophiles and made suggestions about their characteristics. The
inference from their case report was that pedophiles have a basic character disorder
shown by schizoid and passive traits as well as a severe dread of adult sexuality. (Bell
amp; Hall 1971).
Cohen, Seghorn, and Calmas (1969) described three types of child molesters
derived from their clinical studies. One type had a history of relatively normal
functioning and the incident of molestation appears to reflect a reaction to a severe
threat to their sense of sexual adequacy. Another type had a history of poor social
sexual functioning and is regarded as primitive and immature in terms of social
sexual skills. The last type they found in their study had offenses involving cruel and
vicious assaults on children and the act of molestation is regarded as more
aggressive then sexual. (Mc Creary, 1975)
Harding wrote an article on pedophilia stating that pedophilia is a subcategory of a
larger group of sexual disorders commonly classified as paraphilias. These are defined
as recurrent, intense, aphrodisiac fantasies, sexual urges,
44. Summary Of Junot Diaz s Instructional Manual
An individual s identity is strongly influenced by their ethnic background and the
environment that surrounded them. Due to this, a majority of the world will
perceive a person differently and create stereotypes, which then compels them to
treat others differently in order to accommodate to that person. In Junot Diaz s
instructional manual, How to date a brown girl (black girl, white girl, or halfie) ,
he depicts different scenarios of dates in the perspective of a boy who is Latino and
from the Terrace, a ghetto neighborhood. He talks about the different ways to treat a
girl based on their raceand what neighborhood they came from, as well as the
various reactions each kind of girl will make. He categorizes an insider as Latino or

In the same situation of possibly meeting the boy s acquaintance, an outsider will
choose to react contrary to an insider, as described by the narrator, If the girl s an
outsider she will hiss and say, What a f*** asshole (Diaz 2). By doing this, she is
being more conservative about her actions towards people who come from a
different neighborhood than her, because an outsider should not create a situation
that they will not be able to handle. Moreover, by being an outsider, she feels
intimidated visiting an area where she is not familiar with the people and the
environment. Furthermore, even before meeting, an outsider s parents will feel
discomfort taking their daughter to an unfamiliar area, as the narrator claims, Neither
of them want her seeing any boys from the Terrace (Diaz 1). Compared to an insider
that is accustomed to the Terrace, an outsider has difficulty being comfortable in this
area because they are used to being insiders in their own neighborhood, not in a
different one. Even the narrator can see that encountering others from the Terrace
makes an outsider feel somewhat uneasy, considering they are not familiar with the
people. So due to the fact that they feel insecure staying within this environment
displays how they are seen as outsiders to those who live in the

Moonlight Critical Thinking Essay Sociological empathy is the combination of
sociological mindfulness and sociological imagination. The film Moonlight
perfectly represents the need for human beings to show sociological empathy in the
world. Society has provided stereotypes and schemas in our society, which makes it
difficult for people to show deviance. People who show deviance in society are seen
a part of the outsider group. Moonlight depicts stereotypes of masculinity,
specifically for black men. The film tries to provide a tense mood to the audience, so
they may acknowledge the reasons to be empathetic. Sociological empathy can be
gained in many ways such as trying on another person s life and cultivating curiosity
about strangers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Life is always looked at one perspective. The danger of the single perspective is
when people are not willing to look at a different perspective, and are fixated on
one viewpoint. Fixation contributes to a person s trait of an unwillingness to
change. To be sociological mindful is seeing how our actions in one part of life
are the case and consequences of what happens (Schwalbe 2005). In Moonlight,
Chiron is made fun of every day for the way he dresses, the way he walks, and the
way he acts. The community or the environment he lived in did not have the
capability to comprehend people who were homosexual. Homosexuals were
labelled as weird, abnormal, and different. In order to portray sociological empathy
in the film, a person must look through the eyes of Chiron s life. Chrion may be
homosexual, but that does take away from his human rights. Every person has a
desire to feel belonging with their peers and their family. However, Chiron was
neither accepted by his peers or even his mom. His only friend, Kevin, even rejected
him publicly in order for his societal image not to be

47. The Education and Skills Needed to Become a Physicist
Essay
In the present, science has grown to become a great role in our lives. From gravity
to cloning, we can attribute many ordinary things in life that we know and understand
now to science. Physicists are the ones who study the structure of matter, space and
time. An example of a physicist would be Einstein or Newton. This paper will discuss
the education necessary to become a physicist, the skills that physicists need, the
earnings and the benefits/risks of the job, and my qualifications.
The education of a physicist start can start at any age, though it focuses primarily in
high school and up. All that one needs is creativity and curiosity to be devoted to
their pathway, which can be obtained as a imaginative child. From there, Dr. Michio

mathematical knowledge, specifically centered around Calculus. Along the way,
more science preparation may assist an upcoming physicist, from lab experiments to

complicated from the start. As Einstein said, Behind every great theory, there is a
simple physical picture that even lay people can understand. If a theory does not have
a simple underlying picture, then the theory is probably worthless . This means that
everything worth studying is not difficult enough so that anyone should be
discouraged from becoming a physicist. That being said, the focus of job skills for a
physicist lies in the commitment to stick with the research and studies.
Depending on the skill level of each unique physicist, physicists can make anywhere
from a fair amount of money to no money at all. As Michio Kaku says:
Physicists do not become scientists for the money, so I don t want to downplay the
financial problems that you may face. In fact, many superstring theorists who could
not get faculty jobs went to Wall Street (where they were incorrectly called rocket
scientists ). This may mean leaving the field. (2)

Steroids and Baseball: The Ultimate Strike Out
For as long as sports have been around, countless numbers of athletes have been
driven towards being the best, and doing whatever it takes to become successful. As
sports become more competitive, many athletes strive to find a way to improve their
strengths and abilities. One possible solution to the problem, is with the help of
performance enhancing drugs (PEDs), also known as steroids. Steroids first came to
flourishing in Major League Baseball (MLB) in the 1970s, when Tom House a
former pitcher in (MLB) openly recognizing that there were multiple players per
team experimenting with steroids and human growth hormones. During the 1900s
steroids quickly became much more excessive and widespread, according to Juicin

pitcher for the Texas Rangers and a player representative, stood up at the winter
meeting of the Executive Board of the Major League Baseball Players Association

On a quiet day, long ago, a young girl sat in the field where her father worked.
Bianca s hair was long, dark, and coarse complementing her caramel skin. She sat,

the workers sang in the fields made Bianca smile. Bianca! cariГ±o! It is time to go

the village. Men and women alike fleeing their homes to see. To their delight, they

percent of items purchased while shopping we re not on their lists, and we re bought

In the study mentioned above by Spool (2011), a major driver of impulse
purchases is the use of the category links on the website. Certain designs led
shoppers to find products through category links rather than the sites search
engines. When shoppers used these categories, they were far more likely to make
impulse purchases than when they used the search engines. In the study, 87% of
the dollars spent on impulse purchases resulted from users navigating the site by
the category links. Users spent the remaining 13% of the money after navigating
via the sites search engines. If a visitor sees a popular products section or a
clearance banner on a site, those are the things they are most likely going to click.
Even if they went to the site looking for a particular product, this strategy is usually
taken advantage of. Many retailers put a may we suggest section on each and
every product page with items that are relevant to what the customer was looking
for, and this is also very enticing. Other ways online pages encourage impulsive
purchases is with the use of things such as time sensitive sales. This can be sales
such as Memorial Day sales, deal of the day, or just random clearance sales. It doesn
t matter what the occasion is, making a banner that says something like Sale ends at
Midnight! will encourage people to click the link, venture further into the store, and

Its primary Christian theme revolves around the concept that Christ died upon the
cross to pay for the sins of all humanity (Albl 363). The Christian doctrine of
atonement is an attempt to understand the earliest teaching of the Church that
Christ died for our sins (1 Cor 15:3). God came to us in human form (Incarnation)
through Jesus Christ and made it possible for us to attain the Kingdom of heaven
through his sacrifice. He died for us in accordance to the scriptures and prophecy.
During the last supper he symbolized this sacrifice by saying This is my body
which is given for you (Luke 22:19). The Lamb of God truly took away the sins of
the world. Jesus accomplished the substitution of the Suffering Servant by making
himself an offering for sin (Albl, 306). Logically speaking, God does not owe a
debt to himself, it is humans who must repay this perceived debt. Jesus himself
claimed to have existed in heaven even before the creation of the universe (John
6:62, 8:58, 17:5, 24). God materialized in human form through the Immaculate
Conception, in order for us to have an avenue to repay this assumed debt and for us
attain the kingdom of heaven. Atonement is the human drive to atone and offer
recompense which can be manipulated. (Albl, 308). Only Christ s sinless and divine
life was representative of a worthy sacrifice to atone for all the sins of the world. No

2007). Celebrating accomplishments reminds the group that the leader values their
dedication to the task and respects them, thereby enhancing the leader s credibility
(Truesdell, 2011).
Interactions between Concepts of the Leadership Challenge Model The Leadership
Challenge Model is easy to understand and is specific enough that almost anyone
with the desire to improve or attain leadership skills can follow the guidelines
presented in the practices and commitments and be successful. The model
emphasizes that leadership is a learned skill that anyone can master. Although the
practices are presented in an order, different tasks or projects may not follow the
order but will include all of the practices at some point. When considering the
model, it is easy to see how each practice combines with the commitments ascribed
to result in successful leadership. All of the practices are interrelated and emphasize
the leader as a part of a team or group of people with the same values and aspirations
that work together to reach a goal. The word we should be used in place of I ,
because the leader is expected to inspire the group to see the project or goal as their
own.
