Global Positioning System Advantages And Disadvantages
1.Introduction.
In the daily operation of bus transport systems, particularly that affected by uncertain conditions as
the day progresses, these can be classified as, traffic congestion, unexpected delays, irregular
vehicle dispatching times, other incidents. So many people have to arrived at the bus stop they have
no way of knowing when the bus they want to board is pulling up to the stop. The objective of
this project is to develop application to track the bus location and display it in the application in
real time.
The Global Positioning System (GPS) is satellite based navigation system that provides location
time information in all weather conditions. So in this application I will use the GPS System for
track the bus location. It can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most attractive feature of this system is its100% coverage on the planet.
It also helps you to search the nearby restaurants, hotels and gas stations and is very useful for a
new place.
Due to its low cost, it is very easy to integrate into other technologies like cell phone.
The system is updated regularly by the US government and hence is very advance.
This is the best navigating system in water as in larger water bodies we are often misled due to
lack of proper directions.
Disadvantages of GPS:
Sometimes the GPS may fail due to certain reasons and in that case you need to carry a backup
map and directions.
If you are using GPS on a battery operated device, there may be a battery failure and you may need
a external power supply which is not always possible.
Sometimes the GPS signals are not accurate due to some obstacles to the signals such as buildings,
trees and sometimes by extreme atmospheric conditions such as geomagnetic storms.

The Issue Of League Of German Girls
April 20th, 1930 There is so much talk about league of German girls . Think of it like a female
version of the Hitler youth, but not as strict. It s made and directed for girls. Every girl at school
is talking about it. According to the group, girls finally get to be leaders . It does not appear as if
there is anything bad that we would be doing in these groups. Others girls who are members say
that the program is for our own good, for us to lead healthy lives and to even prepare for our
careers, they even want us to just be happy girls . Well, apparently that is. But the agenda for it is
just so demanding! so many excursions to attend, of these camping trips, hikes . Now the program
is not compulsory, yet there is still this expectation... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was telling me about how back at the academy, a boy was shunned by the others as he tried to
denounce a fellow member . He was trying to do so over a minor problem, the boys not wanting
to do a certain activity. According to Hans, denouncing another member was seen as taboo, that
it was just it something you do . Though Hans feels that the other boy simply wanted to feel
above everyone else . The ability to denounce people, made some individuals feel superior, as if
they have so much power and that they have the ability to make others go through punishments .
Then again, to some beings sent home was the worst punishment possible in the academy .
Think about it, having so much influence over a set of people and denouncing someone gives
one this feel of power. That they can do something so significant as ruining someone else s life.
After Hans caught me up on events, we decided to take a quick walk outside. As we were
walking, not too far from our home we noticed a group of boys taunting another boy in the
middle. As we got a little bit closer, we noticed that the boys were taunting the one in the center
saying that he has a nose like a kettle pot . The boy in the center just stood there, whereas the
others were still laughing while making faces and gestures at him. Before the boys noticed us,
Hans and I decided to head back home, forgetting about the rest of our walk. October 13th, 1934

Daniel Gilbert Immune To Reality
In different people s eyes, experiences have different meanings through different kinds of people.
Each experiences that individuals encounter which will make different individuals have different
thinking. As the most successful experiences that individuals have this may lead them to a really
high level that maybe others cannot be achieved. Also different kinds of experiences that hear from
others may give you a really big impact or influences. For, Daniel Gilbert, a professor which studies
humanpsychology, he writes the essay Immune to Reality , he thinks that people depend on
cooking the fact in order to make the events which have negative side become to the positive side.

Facts:
After Maria and Tatsuo are divorced, their two children continue to live with Maria. Pursuant to
their divorce decree, Tatsuo pays Maria $1,000 per month in child support and $1,800 per month in
alimony. The divorce decree specifies that in the event of a court ordered increase in child support,
the alimony payment amount will decrease by the amount of the child support increase. That is,
Tatsuo s total monthly payment cannot exceed $2,800.
Issues:
How much of each payment is considered alimony? Does the change in child support have an effect
on the amount of alimony received?
Conclusion:
Generally, child support is not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Such events that are included are: the child s attaining a specified age or income level, dying,
marrying, leaving school, leaving the spouse s household, or gaining employment. Whether such
event is certain or likely to occur is not considered in determining the contingency.
A similar case to Maria s is presented in the court case, Heller v. Commissioner, T.C. Memo 1994
423 (1994). Heller (the petitioner) received certain payments from her former husband, some of
which were designated as spousal support and the remaining were designated as child support.
Heller received $1,700 per month as spousal support, none of which was reported on her tax return.
The divorce instrument stated that future spousal support would be reduced by any court mandated
increase in child support.
The Court cited Sec. 71 (c) (2) of the Internal Revenue Code and said that the provision which
allows spousal support to be decreased by future court mandated increases in child support is not
considered a contingency related to a child. The Court then ruled that the payments received by the
petitioner for spousal support should have been included in her tax return and constitutes taxable
alimony.
Maria s situation is similar to the Heller case. The increase in child support from a court order is
not considered a contingency related to a child and does not decrease alimony. Therefore, as it was
also noted in Treasury Regulations Sec. 1.71 1T

Analysis Of The Story Every Little Storm
Every Little Hurricane Literary Analysis Sadly, Every Little Hurricane is not truly about real life
hurricanes. It is actually a forty year old native Indian short story. Every Little Hurricane is a
representation for symbolism through the life of the native Indian family and community. The main
character, Victor, is faced with the hurricane of life that is upon him. He sees this all around
himself and in his dreams and past. The hurricane is struggle, greed, anger, satire, and retribution.
The short storyis a love/hate relationship with Victor s family; as well as, the typical struggle for
the everyday Indian life. 1976, forty years into the past on a cold New Year s Eve at young Victor
s house in Spokane Indian Reservation. The main character, and protagonist, Victor is the lone child
at a party of adults who are getting drunk at his home. There so, the hurricane begins. The parents
of Victor are not solely involved in the story, but the main attraction was the uncles who fought
one another, Adolph and Arnold. Those these two do not serve as antagonists, they create the
swirling fronts that ignite the hurricane that night for Victor. It was the Indian life that serves as
the antagonist. The life of an Indian was never easy and it shows its self in many ways. A
drunken New Year s Eve party, what a blast latterly in the past! Yet, the action rises at this
exposition with all the drinking and smoking occurring. Only to top off by fights and people being

A church whose pastor and others in leadership have failed to put in place a proactive plan for
discipleship for Believers is usually a growing church growing stagnant, growing cold, growing
spiritually immature Christians, and eventually, many growing closed. Patte said, There is much at

The parent or mature Christian is fully engaged in the mission of Jesus Christ. People who are in
this stage are those who are witnessing and discipling others, in the same manner that he or she was
discipled. They are looking out for the immature Christians, and taking them under their wing to
encourage, listen to, and strengthen them to maturity in Christ.
The four spheres of relationships are as follows; the relationship with God, the relationship with
family or home, relationship with church and believers, and the relationship with the world. The
most important sphere is the relationship with God. This sphere or the relationship with God needs
to be vibrant, fresh, and personal. All of the other spheres will work or be in line when our
relationship with God is in line.
The sphere dealing with the home can be taxing at times. The relationship here is much easier
when everyone in the home are Christians. However, if dad is a Christian and mom is not, or
vice versa, or perhaps a child or children surrender their lives to the calling of Jesus, and mom
and dad have not, family relationships and harmony in the home can become much more
difficult. Paul writes about how the relationships in the home should be. He talks about how each
person should deal with the other. The book of Genesis tells us the story of Noah and how he
was a successful father and husband. He was able to reach his entire family for God. It was his
family that was saved

Healthcare Malpractice Case Study
Healthcare Malpractice Medical Malpractice occurs when a healthcare professional provides
substandard care, whether intentional or unintentional, causing injury or damage to a patient. In
order to demonstrate medical malpractice, the plaintiff patient has the responsibility of the burden
of proof. The plaintiff patient must prove a preponderance of evidence, or clear concise evidence of
malpractice by supplying four elements of proof. First the plaintiff must show that the provider
owed the patient a professional duty of care. Next the plaintiff has to demonstrate that the
professional duty owed to them was violated or breached. After that the plaintiff must demonstrate
that injury resulted from the said violation or breach. Finally, the patient... Show more content on

The three most common reasons for this are: 1.The employer is responsible for the quality of care
at their facility, 2. The employer earns revenue from the negligent individual and, 3. The employer
is more finically and economically endowed, usually through liability insurance to afford the cost.
There are however a couple of exceptions to vicarious liability. One such exclusion is the intentional
misconduct of one patient toward another patient. In this situation the employer or employee had
no contribution to the situation. Another exceptions that would apply would be in regard to
independent contractors and, or their staff. They are not considered employees of the facility and
are generally responsible for their own conduct, however this does excludes Apparent Agency .
Apparent Agency is a term used to describe the inability of a patient to distinguish the contractor
from a regular healthcare worker of the facility. In this situation, the employer can still be held
vicariously liable if there were no efforts to differentiate them from their own employees. An
employer can also be held directly liable for an employee or contractors conduct under the legal
concept of negligent selection and retention. This happens when the employer should have either
ejected the individual for employment, carried out remediation for deficiencies, or discharged the
individual from employment; this creates primary employer

The Civil Rights Movement and To Kill a Mockingbird
The beginning of the Civil Rights Movement era corresponds with the time that Harper Lee was
writing about Scout Finch and her brother Jem. They live in the very state that events like the
Montgomery Bus boycott would take place. The fictional town of Maycomb is in Alabama, the
same state where Martin Luther King Jr. would rise to be the voice of African Americans aching
for equality. The actual movement may have started in 1960 but that is the same year that To Kill a
Mockingbirdwas published and huge events were rupturing the south, throughout the novel readers
can see the attitude of a want and need for equality in characters and some events. The civil rights
movement was introduced to national headlines in the 1950s and 60s... Show more content on

Later, due to the events of the boycott, Martin Luther King Jr. emerged and was the movement s
most effective leader (Clayborne Carson). He is known for his nonviolent tactics and his I Have
a Dream speech. Martin Luther King Jr. was also a member of the National Association for the
Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and later became the president of the SCLC in 1957
following the Montgomery Bus Boycott. To Kill a Mockingbird was written and published in
1960, in the midst of the Civil Rights Movement (Carolyn Jones). This time was just a few years
after events like the murder of Emmett Till, a fourteen year old boy accused of whistling at a white
woman, the Montgomery Bus Boycott, and the ruling in Alabama that segregation on buses is
unconstitutional happened (PBS African AmericanWorld). This goes to show that the time period
had some effect on Harper Lee at the time. To Kill a Mocking bird takes place in the fictional
town of Maycomb deep in the south. This town clings to its ideals, its traditions... People,
especially blacks and poor whites are ... expected to remain in their places (Carolyn Jones). The
town sticks to what it believes and that is that African Americans, and poor whites, are lower than
all the others residing in this tired town. Throughout the novel the reader sees events that can be
tied to things happening at the time Lee was writing. For instance, Tom Robinson, a black man, is
accused and

Symptoms And Treatment Of Peripheral Nociceptors At High...
1.Introduction
It is estimated that 20% of the European population suffer from chronic pain.1 The understanding of
pain in research has considerably developed from the simplistic pain gate theory.2,3 It is now
understood that stimulation of peripheral nociceptors at high threshold triggers central pathways
that travel via the lateral spinothalamic tract to the medulla and brainstem.4 Nociceptive
information also arrives via spinoreticular and spinomesencephalic tracts; controlling autonomic,
arousal and homeostatic responses.56 Sensory firing is just one influence to central pain processing.
Cortical areas associated with emotional valence, memory, autonomic and motor control are all
seen to activate during a pain experience supporting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Large, fast conducting fibres (О± and ОІ fibres) inhibit small, multi synaptic, slow conducting
fibres (C fibre) at the dorsal horn.13 Gaps were missing within this research due to available
research resources; Noordenbos13 was unable to investigate past the spinal cord. This statement
was unexplained yet it was a development in pain research. Melzack and Wall2 developed the
pain gate theory based from the research by Noordenbos13. The theory explained what
Noordenbos13 was unable to prove; impulses are projected to the brain via the dorsal column,
where central processes influence the activity of the gate control system.2
Melzack3 critiqued his own research. The pain gate was too simplistic and only explained pain as a
sensory dimension.3 Rather that, pain is an output of multi dimensional information being received
and processed by a complex neural network within the brain, termed the neuromatrix .3,14,15 This
guided away from the concept that pain was a sensation always produced by injury, inflammation or
pathology to pain being a complex experience by multiple influences. The new explanation was also
a suggestion to the nature behind some chronic pain conditions.3 Influences affecting such central
processing extend from existing synaptic architecture imprinted within memory to neuro endocrine
and immunological influences.3 Despite the resources of such knowledge being

How Different Stages Contribute Towards A Successful Outcome
How different stages contribute towards a successful outcome
The procedures and techniques used in any criminal investigation help the investigators to do their
investigation properly. By correctly following the investigative stage, the investigators can improve
the quality of their case and investigation and the police will get a better chance to solve any
criminal case. In any criminal investigation, five stages are involved. The police and investigators
have the duty to follow all this stages, in order to get the best results.
Initial response to a reported crime
This stage one of criminal investigation is considered to be one of the most important stages of
criminal investigation. An unprofessional mistake made by a first responding officer can
extensively destroy the whole investigation. By following the correct procedures and rule the first
responding officer can eliminate the chance of making mistakes during the initial investigation.
The lack of knowledge can also disrupt a criminal investigation. The first responding officer is
likely to conduct a successful investigation if he knows how to deal with the problems at the crime
scene therefore, the first responding officer need to have good knowledge about the investigative
procedures.
While entering the crime scene, the first responding officer should look out for any evidence
which is present on the ground. There have some cases in which the first responding officer
stepped on the evidence such as blood or

The Revolution of 1688
The Glorious Revolution, also known as the Revolution of 1688, refers to the events of 1688
1689. These events eventually led to the overthrow of Catholic King James II and the ascension
(of William III and Mary II) to the English throne. These events also produced a significant shift
in the relationship between the monarchy and parliament. This paper will discuss the overthrow
of King James II, the rebellion and revolt and the consequences as well as the global effects of
the Revolution in order to explain the importance of this event in world history. James II, king of
England from 1685 1688, inherited a very strong position when he came to power. When James II
first came to the throne, he was not very well liked in the eyes of the people of Great Britain,
simply because he was a Roman Catholic King to an overwhelmingly Protestant nation. Like most
politicians, James made promises to protect the peoples personal beliefs. At the beginning of his
reign, James had promised to respect his subject s rights and liberties and protect the Protestant
establishment in the church. Despite these promises, James decided to advance the Catholic tenets
over the protestants. He did this by issuing dispensations to Catholics including the Test Act of
1673, promoting the public celebration of mass, forcing the universities to admit Catholics, issued
a Declaration of Indulgences and also engaged a campaign to pack Parliament so that he would be
able to establish Catholic tolerance by

Malcolm Knowles Andragogy Essay
Malcolm S. Knowles:
Adult learning had no distinction from pedagogy in the United States until Malcolm S. Knowles
introduced his controversial theory of andragogy. Knowles was an American educator at North
Carolina State University (Knowles, Holten III, Swanson, 2015). Andragogy is defined as a set of
principles of adult learning that in turn enables those designing and conducting adult learning to
build more effective learning process. Knowles determined there are 4 assumptions about
characteristics of adult learners in 1980 and added a 5th assumption in 1984. His assumptions
resulted into the 4 principles of andragogy.
My thoughts on how humans learn:
I believe learning is a natural skill that can be enhanced once a person recognizes their ... Show

For myself, I can remember things I say aloud better than just reading it. I can also write the
material and have better recall than just reading the material. I have also retained more information
by associating it with personal, real events that have happened in my life. I have found that many
times if I doubt myself, I talk myself into failure; therefore, it greatly benefits me to reassure myself
that I can do it.
Andragogy in Practice as a holistic learning model:
Based on the 4 principles of andragogy, there is a need to explain the reasons that specific things are
being taught, instruction should be task oriented instead of promoting memorization, instructions
should take into account the wide variety of different backgrounds of learners, and since adult
learners are self directed, instruction should allow learner to discover knowledge for themselves
without depending on others (Pappas, 2013). A recently developed holistic theory provides an
integrative framework to examine some of the contemporary adult learning theories (Yang, 2004).

Examination of Clinical Psychology
Clinical psychology is a very important as well as popular part of the field of psychology that is
used very often. To begin, a definition of clinical psychology will be included. According to APA
(2009) Clinical psychology attempts to use the principles of psychology to better understand,
predict, and alleviate intellectual, emotional, biological, psychological, social, and behavioral
aspects of human functioning (Plante, 2011, p. 5). The following paper will first describe the
history and evolving nature of clinical psychology. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Psychology will always be an increasingly popular area of study, and will always be used to help
people identify mental issues he or she may be facing. Today, psychology is one of the most
popular undergraduate major in most colleges and universities, and clinical psychology is the
most popular specialty area within psychology (Plante, 2011). This field will continue to grow in
the future, as it has in the past. For instance, Money magazine and other publications have listed
clinical psychologists as one of the hottest jobs one can have (Plante, 2011, APA, 2009).
Psychology is such an interesting field, and such a useful field, that it will be around until the end
of time and will probably bring with it more insight and answers to questions that have yet to be
answered. The next item to be discussed is the role of research and statistics in clinical psychology.
Research and Statistics in Clinical PsychologyResearch plays a major role in the field of clinical
psychology. According to Plante (2011) Research is at the foundation of all clinical psychology
activities (p. 10). Since there is a huge demand from the public for the applications of psychology
to everyday life, research is in high demand as well (Thorne, 2000). This research has been in

According to company s profile given in case 8, Panera Bread s establishment started in 1981 by
Louis Kane and Ron Shaich as a bakery cafГ©. Sooner they have studied the market and opened
cafГ© chains in different states. They had realized that they had an opportunity to compete with
other fast food companies if they could offer higher quality and at the same time quick dining

Additionally all Panera cafes used real china and stainless silverware instead of paper plates and
plastic utensils. Which shows that Panera had made itself different by making more quality fast
food and offering it in different way than its rivals were doing.
Furthermore, it s quite clear that Panera Bread has achieved to build a very good operational
effectiveness. As information given in case 8, Panera operates where urban workers and suburban
dwellers looking for quick service meal and a more aesthetically pleasing dining experience than
that offered by traditional fast food restaurants. And Panera s has average population per location
of 330,000 people. So Panera operates in markets where it has also other competitors running their
fast food chains as McDonalds, Subway, Sturbucks Coffee, Applebee s, and etc. They are all in
same industry and they are all substitutes to each other in front of their customers. One of the things
which make Panera better than its rivals is that it performs tasks in more better and higher quality.
For examples, in Panera s growing strategy through franchising Panera clearly forces its franchiser
to build perfect operational effectiveness in order to meet the franchising requirements. As given in
case 8, in Panera s franchising agreement, franchiser should open 15 Panera bakery cafes in six

A story similar to Snow Falling on Cedars, called Divine Wind, is about a Japanese couple in
Australia. The story depicts a lifetime love story between two Japanese Australians, but the
conflict of war separates the two. This book not only shows what is was like to be a person of
Japanese descent during the war, but also how people would have treated you and acted towards
you if you were Japanese (Rosser). Today, the focus of racism and prejudice isn t so much on
Japanese Americans, but rather on some other minority races such as African Americans and
Latinos. Prejudice among people today is both similar and different to the prejudice during and
after World War II. An example would be the murder of Trayvon Martin, which compares to the
murder in Snow Falling on Cedars. Many of the stories told today are stories about people who
dealt with racism. Many people during World War II felt that the claims made against the Japanese

Short Story Of Twas The Night Walker
Twas the night of July 7, 1947. James was sitting on his porch having a drink or two with his
neighbor Mr. Docster. James had a great day at his military station post in Roswell, New
Mexico, but he was still tired. The topic of politics had been always what they were talking about
and they always disagreed on something. While they were talking and the evening grew darker
and the stars finally came out. At this time the only thing they would talk about is how the
universe is or what started it. As they were talking about the universe, they saw something flying
down with bright lights. Mr. Docster brushed it off as another one of those lost planes that fly by
these parts of nothingness. A few moments later they saw another airplane flying by pretty low
this time with bright lights, but again, they brushed it off as nothing until something strange
happened. The bright light came even closer and closer until it shot down right inside James s
corn field. They sat there in awe out of what had just happened right in front of them. Mr.
Docster was the first one to say anything after what had just happened, but it was a comment that
left James feeling scared and alone. After his words shivered down James s spine, he said a few
more words and then it was silent. What do we do now? asked James.... Show more content on

St Gall Analysis
Introduction
The monastery plan of St. Gall is a document that uniquely captures an early medieval nature not
only in its architecture but also in its life forms.
This plan is one of the most remarkable visualizations of a building complex produced during the
early ninth century.
It provides direct insight into the organization of the medieval monastery.
Making of Plan / Physical Descriptions
The plan of St. Gall provides an overall snapshot of an institution of about forty buildings
inhabited by about 110 monks, with an equal number of laypeople who served as support staff.
The plan was drawn on parchment 30.5 inch x 44 inch sewn together from five separate pieces.
The building name /purpose is written in Latin using dark brown ink. The designer of this plan also
has a dedicatory legend indicated to the top margin above the cemetery/orchard.
The plan of St. Gall includes a church, scriptorium lodging for visiting monks, a monastic
dormitory, refectory, school, kitchen, bake and brew house, guest house, abbots residence, an
infirmary, numerous fields and industrial out buildings; along with fences, walls, gardens, orchids
and roads.
The plan of St. Gall is referred as a replication of an original prototype. This orchestration was not
concretely designed for a particular site. According to Prof. Mark Jarzombek s article, The
Medieval Monastery: The Plan of St. Gall, It is an ideal plan incorporating the monastic reforms
promulgated at the synods held at Louis the

What Is Total Quality Management ( Tqm ) Is Defined As A...
1.Total quality management(TQM) is defined as a system of management based on the principle
that every member of a company must contribute towards improving and maintaining the standards
of work in every aspect of the company s operations. It is not only customer focused but requires
total employee involvement along with a focus on process control. A strategic and systematic fact
based decision approach is required for the continuous improvement of the company. The start of
TQM is marked by the introduction of scientific managementprinciples in 1920s. In the 1930s,
Walter Shewhart, a young engineer, developed the methods of statistical analysis and control of
quality using metal rimmed tags and kitchen bowl in the initial experiments.... Show more content

This reduces cost for the company correspondingly increasing the overall profit for the company.
With better services and good quality products, customers are satisfied resulting in fewer
complaints and better brand value. Every production enterprise requires to decrease the defects
generated in it s products. With the help of statistical principles, it can minimize the number of
defective items generated thus reducing wastage of resources and improving the efficiency of the
system. But TQM being an extensive study, it requires an in depth knowledge, to be implemented
to notice effective changes in the production or the defect ratio. For TQM to be implemented in
the unit, all the employees need to go through extensive training which might result in wastage of
time resources as well as there are chances of resistance to learn from the employees. In addition,
it is a slow process, in the sense, that direct results cannot be observed. Being a long process, it can
not be used to correct the necessary and immediate problems. TQM focuses on task standardization,
which can discourage creativity. Moreover, it requires a lot of resources being contributed to it s
planning and implementation not only making it resource consuming process but also an expensive
one.

The Problem Of Blossoms Service Quality
Analyse the problem of Blossoms service quality And its solutions
1. Introduction
Blossoms Garden Centre is a gardening business which was established in the mid 1960 s in
Glasgow and expanded with diversified products and services after 1990 (PMM, 2015). Due to
the revival of gardening as a key feature after the Second World War in the UK, a great reputation
had obtained by its knowledgeable staff, wide range of the plants and minor competition in the
local market at the beginning. Numerous larger chains emerged with diverse facilities and
products followed by the market changes in order to gather benefits. For the sake of survival, Sales,
Cafeteria, and the Hire Branch were developed by Blossoms for additional services with a series of
loans (ibid). However, some problems have arisen as a result of the falling profit from
ВЈ507,579(2013) to ВЈ386,952(2014) in the process of its development. Based on the feedback of
the customer and the staff, the main problem for this business is the downgrade quality of customer
service. This essay aims to investigate and search for solutions for this problem. It begins by the
causes of this problem and then critically examines the solutions which could be divided into two
parts: staff motivation and operations management. Finally, some recommendations could be
provided for this enterprise.
2. Causes for Blossoms Recession
There are two causes for the downturn of Blossoms service quality: financial pressure and
ineffective management.

Admiral Mcraven s 10 Lessons Commencement Speech
Every day, thousands of speeches are given. Some of those speeches are long and drawn out while
others are created in the heat of the moment. But, regardless of its content, there is a huge
difference between a run of the mill speech and a great one. That difference being its relevance,
memorability, and honesty. Admiral William H. McRaven accomplished each of those components
in his 10 lessons commencement speechgiven at the University of Texas at Austin in 2014. During
his speech, Admiral McRaven detailed his time in basic SEAL training and referenced the 10 life
lessons that he learned from it. He then ends the speech with a call to action that is met with a
tremendous ovation from the crowd. With that reaction, it was clear that... Show more content on

As he spoke, the Admiral made time to humanize himself with humor and not be seen as just
another hardened military official. From his sugar cookie reference to showing off his UT pride,
his transparency with the crowd was on full display. By doing this, he was able to speak open and
honestly about his experiences and while reminding the crowd, once again, that he is one of them.
His style of speaking was the perfect complement to his speech topic and made him a trustworthy
source of advice for the young audience. In conclusion, Admiral McRaven s speech had all of the
factors needed to be considered great. From beginning to end, McRaven was able to capture the
audience s attention while delivering a powerful message that can be applied to any listener s life.
The reason for that being the case is that as humans, we all have challenges that we must
overcome. Even though many people possess the ability to do so, most are often defeated by their
own mind and thus never truly reach their full potential. But, after hearing a speech such as this, it
is hard not to be inspired to be

Essay On Peru Government
Peruvians enjoy a free government and one of the richest histories in the world. Peru s history has
legendary beginnings and leads to a revolution. Furthermore, the Peruvian government allows civil
liberties and freedoms. Come and go back in time to the Incas and lead through until Peru s
founding government.
The history of Peru is riddled with legends, conquistadors, and a revolution. The fabled beginnings
of the Inca empire, which preceded Peru in their lands, state that Manco Capac, a son of the sun
god, was sent down and made home in the Vilcanota Valley ( Peru History ). This became their
capital, Cuzco. The Incas documented their history through the reigns of the kings. However, it was

Summary Of The MovieThe Martian 2014
The Martian 2015 is a very entertaining science fiction film which is accredited for its scientific
accuracy. However, some artistic liberties were taken to make the movie easier to make and
progress the plot. This paper will cover both accurate and inaccurate areas of space science
featured in the film. The portrayal of Mark Watney s separation, habitation of mars, and recovery
will all be analyzed. The way Mark gets separated from the crew is an area of inaccuracy. There
are storms on mars, but the strength of them would be much less significant. Mars has no
atmosphere so the winds would not be able to knock over the ship [1]. Though the storms may
be dangerous to humans due to flying debris, such a large ship would not be so affected. The
debris would not be as dangerous as shown. Even the strongest winds, up to 60 mph, on mars
would have trouble keeping the astronauts from moving around, and would have a tough time
picking up anything even remotely tied down [1]. The chance of debris knocking someone back
and impaling them like what happened to Mark Watney would be very unlikely. The way
habitation of Mars is portrayed is a mixed bag of accuracy. The gravity on Mars is 30% that of the
earth, yet Watney moves around like any earthling [2]. This makes the movie easier to film, and if
they had attempted to portray the gravity accurately, there would have been inaccuracies anyway.
Radiation seems to be ignored almost completely besides for the device he uses to heat his rover.
Being on mars for extended periods of time would increase the chances of cancer. NASA only
allows 200 rem per year [4], which Watney would almost certainly exceed being on a planet with
no atmosphere to protect from the Sun s radiation. This was probably left out as it would likely
not have immediate effects on Watney but it s still a big concern for real astronauts.
Communication was portrayed fairly accurately. The movie says the communication speed is 30
minutes there and back. Since mars is 54.6 million miles away, data traveling at the speed of light
would take 3 minutes to get there [2]. Once data processing, inaccuracy, and other factors are
accounted for, 30 minutes is realistic.

Genetic Modification Pros And Cons
Most parents would want their child to be free of disease, impairment or maybe even want them
to be perfect. Genetic modification provides the opportunity for parents to edit their child s
genome while still inside the mother s embryo. For example, Clustered Regularly Interspaced
Short Palindromic Repeats, or CRISPR for short, is an editing technique that in short, is like two
pairs of scissors. When a virus infects a cell, it inserts its RNA into the cell s DNAand tricks the cell
into replicating hundreds of viruses until the cell bursts and the newly created viruses target new
unsuspecting cells. CRISPR finds and cuts the RNA that the virus injected into the cell multiple
times until it turns into small, separate pieces that pose no threat to the cell and then creates a
normal cell. This also passes down through generations, so the offspring of whoever had CRISPR
is now also immune to that certain virus. CRISPR also can edit humanfeatures, change skin or eye
color, or maybe make them stronger. Genetic modification is the right direction if parents want
their child to live a good life.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

things that it can do is that it can allow scientists to make precise changes to DNA, and has the

Genetic modification can provide people the chance to stop a defect that was passed down for
generations like CRISPR. For example, if there is a defect that was passed down from generations

Romeo And Juliet Unrequited Love
In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Shakespeare portrays the theme of love in
many different ways. One of the forms of love which are depicted in the play is romantic love.
The second form of love which Shakespeare expresses is parental love. Shakespeare also
implements unrequited loveinto the play
One of the ways that Shakespeare demonstrates love is by romance and romantic relationships.
Shakespeare shows that Romeo is romantically in love with Juliet by implementing love at first
sight into the play, a symbol of romance. When Romeo has an encounter with Juliet at the Capulet
s feast, he is immediately attracted to her and says did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight

Shakespeare portrays Juliet and Paris as a couple in an unrequited relationship, where Juliet s
parents arranged the wedding between them and even though the context of Elizabethan times
state that it is disrespectful for children to not comply with their parent s orders, Juliet still
refuses. When lady Capulet states that Juliet has to marry Paris and that their wedding is
already arranged, Juliet immediately refuses and replies Now, by Saint Peter s Church and Peter
too, He shall not make me there a joyful bride . Shakespeare also shows that the love between
Paris and Juliet is extremely unrequited as he implies the fact that Juliet will not stop at any
limits to not marry the County, even if that means to kill herself. When offered a solution by
Friar Lawrence on her marriage, Juliet tells him that she would rather jump of a tower than
marry and says O, bid me leap, rather than marry Paris . Shakespeare establishes the love
between Romeo and Rosaline as unrequited as Romeo loves Rosaline before Juliet and
Rosaline does not love him back. When the Friar asks Romeo if he is just going to abandon
Rosaline for Juliet, Romeo replies with Doth grace for grace and love for love allow. The other did
not so. Unrequited love is one of the forms of love which Shakespeare demonstrates in the play

Whether it is a formal strategic plan or simply a plan to make the end of the quarter numbers, as
company leaders you think about the future. In future plans, we need to think about the training
necessary to make those numbers or reach those goals. Without the proper skills, the goals we set
for our employees can be difficult to achieve.
For example, a pilot who has never had any training about how to operate a plane. His plane would
probably crash. That is why we must not expect our employees to perform jobs or work on
machinery without the proper training and skills required to meet expectations.
Training and Cross Training at Toyota
Without these skills, Toyota will not be able to continue to achieve the productivity gains made
over the past 10 years. Over the past 30 years, Toyota has taught manufacturers the importance of
employee training and company wide cross training. The basis for the Toyota philosophy, and thus
its success, is training everyone and cross training everyone.
Some companies have learned the importance of training. For example, MassMEP clients receive a

2.A process for problem solving,
3.Adding value to the organization by developing its people, and

According to Mr. D. Ian Guild, Senior Advisor, Forfeiting Syndications Group, Standard Bank, the
cell was being set up after a series of meetings with the bank, and is essentially aimed at
spreading the message of Forfeiting as an effective trade financing mechanism to increase
exports. Suggesting that forfeiting was the ideal springboard for effecting a quantum jump in
exports in the medium term, Mr. Guild said he was confident of aggregating forfeiting business
of $100 millions in 1998 and $250 millions in 1999 in the country. Since its introduction in 1992,
Exim Bank had facilitated 69 forfeiting transactions valued at around $75 millions, with credit
periods ranging between 90 days and seven years, and covering the export of goods ranging from
textiles to plant and machinery. The RBI has now permitted all commercial banks to act as
facilitators for forfeiting transactions. Mr. Guild pointed out that forfeiting has not really taken off
in India because exporters and commercial banks lacked the knowledge of the mechanics of the
scheme. In India, the real challenge would be to motivate small and medium exporters to use the
forfeiting route for exports to countries which may not be able to buy on cash terms. Mr. S.
Bhattacharya, deputy general manager, Exim Bank, Calcutta, said: Payment defaults by overseas

longer than days of analog. Trying to prevent the harm that may result from this introduced people
the right to be forgotten. It is new idea people started to see as digital advancement, especially use
of internet became widely accessible to the public. Not only in Spain, but also in all across Europe,

European Parliament decided on a comprehensive approach on personal data protection in the
European Union ; this resolution right to be forgotten is critical need to grant people their private

From The Right to Privacy by Samuel Warren and Louis Brandeis in 1890, the idea of a right to be

The Most Successful Follower Of Verdi
Giacomo Antonio Domenico Michele Secondo Maria Puccini also known as Giacomo Puccini.
He was named after an 18th century ancestor, who founded a long line of local musicians
including Puccini s father. Puccini is the most successful follower of Verdi, continuing the line
of Italian opera composers onto the 20th century. He was born into a musical family that was
strongly tied to Christianity, so he served as a church organist and choir director until Verdi s
performance of Aida inspired him to become a composer of operas. Puccini an a friend walked 18.5
miles just to see Verdi s performance of Aida. Puccini is called the greatest composer of Italian opera
after Verdi. Puccini was born in Lucca, Tuscany, Italy on December 22, 1858 in a house in Corte
San Lorenzo. This house was where he spent the first twenty two years of his life at. Being born
into a family with 5 generations of music behind it, he had big shoes he had to fill. He was one
of seven children of Michele Puccini and Albina Magi. Puccini was just five years old when his
father died and wasn t capable of taking over his fathers job as a composer, organist, and a teacher.
After his father died, his mother sent him to his uncle Fortunato Magi, hoping he can help him
with his music. Magi considered Puccini as a poor and undisciplinded student and told his mom,
Albina, to give up hopes for her son. Most people think it was that Fortunato was actually jealous
of Puccini s talent, an was afraid he might ruin

The Negative Effects Of Technology And Its Effects On The...
With all of the technological advances that have been made over the last decade, it is amazing that
a person ever leaves their home. While technology allegedly makes our lives better, in reality,
technology only makes our lives more difficult. In doing so it changes the way things used to be
done, it causes a huge lack of communication and lastly, technologyis great, until it breaks.
Technology has changed the way that the world does many things. Looking back one of the
things that I miss the most was getting birthday calls or cards. Now all my birthday wishes
come on a Facebook wall. These wishes come from all over the world but most of them are from
people I never talk to. How do they remember my birthday? Is it because I am important to them.
Nope! It is because Facebook has an app that tells them it is my birthday and they feel obligated to
wish me a happy birthday because we are friends on Facebook. While it makes me feel special to
know that 683 people wished me happy birthday on my special day. How many of them would
know who I was if I ran into them at the store? Not many of them would and while it might make
us feel good for the moment, it is not reality. It is technology. It has even changed how we get
mail. It used to be that we would have to wait days for a letter to come. Now we have email and
can receive a letter from anywhere in the world in a matter of seconds. While this is a wonderful
thing it still does not replace the feeling one gets when they go to the

Sexual Harassment in the Workplace Essay
Sexual harassment in the workplace is a very serious problem that must be dealt with effectively.
Sexual harassment is defined as a form of sex discrimination, which is a violation of Title VII of
the Civil Rights Act of 1964. It involves unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors,
and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature, especially when submission to this conduct
is made a term or condition of one s employment (Sexual Harassment). However, sexual harassment
is not limited to sexual advances. It also includes the creation of a intimidating, hostile, or offensive
working environment based on one s sex.
Although men also face harassment, women are the most likely victims. Harm caused by sexual

Is it okay to tell off color jokes? What is unwelcome? When is conduct based on sex? Are
employees allowed to flirt on the job? What happens when someone gets offended? Who decides
what is appropriate? Should employees be required to tolerate some behavior but not another?
Today, courts will more likely find an illegal hostile environment present when the workplace
includes sexual propositions, pornography, extremely vulgar language, sexual touching, degrading
comments, or embarrassing questions or jokes. There are many examples of court cases which
back this up.
(1) In Hall v. Gus Construction Co., a construction company had hired three woman to work at
road construction sites. Male co workers continually subjected these women to verbal sexual abuse.
One woman even developed a skin reaction to the sun which the men immediately labeled
?Herpes.? The women often found obscenities written in the dust on their co worker. Male co
workers continuously asked the women for sexual favors. IN addition to the verbal abuse, the
women were constantly subjected to offensive and unwelcome physical contact. On one occasion,
the men help up one of the female employees so that the driver of a truck could touch her. The men
subjected all three women to other types of abuse including ?mooning? them, showing them
pornographic pictures, and urinating in their water bottles and automobile gas tanks. The

• How Does The Sympathetic Nervous System Prepare Your...
Your Body s Response to Emergency
How does the body prepare for emergencies? The answer lies in the Sympathetic Nervous System
(SNS). It is the branch of the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) that controls the body s reaction
to physical and emotional stressors. The sympathetic branch activates the glands and organs that
defend the body against attack. It is called the fight or flight response.
This is a primitive response designed to protect from danger. When danger is perceived, the
sympathetic nervous system responds immediately to prepare a person to stay and fight or take
flight. Blood rushes away from nonessential systems such as the digestive and excretory systems
and is redirected to the extremities. The heart beats faster to ... Show more content on

The glucose obtained from the liver cells produces a surge in energy better known as an adrenaline
rush . The hormones also bind to receptor cells on smooth muscle and inhibit the muscles of the
stomach and intestines, slowing down the digestive process and allowing more energy for
emergency functions. When these hormones bind to the smooth muscle cells of the bronchioles,
they cause the muscles to relax allowing more oxygen into the blood. At the sinoatrial node of the
heart, epinephrine stimulates the pace maker cells to beat faster. Epinephrine also contracts certain
types of muscles below the skin, causing beads of sweat and raised hairs. Once fight or flight has
taken place, another branch of the ANS, the Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS) can take over
again, calming everything down and returning body processes to normal.
The fight or flight response is useful in the short term because it assists the body in responding
quickly and effectively in emergencies. However in the long term, the sympathetic response can
become harmful. This is because the functions of sympathetic activation can put additional stress on
the nervous system. If the sympathetic system remains highly active, the parasympathetic response
will not activate and return the body to homeostasis. This means the body does not get the chance
to recover from stress causing a number of physical and psychological disorders.
In conclusion, the brain is a complex organ with the ability to cause

The Negative Impact Of The Puritan Society In The Crucible
The Puritans were a religious minority group who believed that the Church of England needed to
be purified of the influence of Catholicism. The basis for the Puritan s belief was an emphasis on
the righteousness and sovereignty of God. They believed God directed all things by exercise, and
directed all things to an intelligent end. In the Puritanlife they believed in staying true to the divine
law but doing everything in moderation. The Crucible shows the exact opposite of what the Puritan
life is supposed to be like. Some people had to suffer execution because of the rumors that were
spread throughout the community. In The Crucible they experienced things such as false rumors
that were spread throughout Salem. Not only did the things that they did cause turmoil, but it also
caused a negative impact to the Puritan society as a whole.
Faith was a central part of the Puritan experience, and this is where all other aspects of their society
emerged. In the Puritan Society, religious beliefs shaped early American relationships, between the
parents and their children. Based on their spiritual tribalism, Godly parents were more likely than
ungodly parents to produce Godly children. The New Testament was their model and their devotion
so great that it was spread throughout their entire society.
Great pains were endured to warn their members and especially their children of the dangers of the
world. Reading the bible was a necessity to living a pious life. The education of the next

Story Of My Body Short Story
People will judge others solely based on their physical appearances. In the short story, The Story
of my body, the author, Judith Ortiz Cofer comes to relations with this. She describes how she
was victim of judgment because she was a kid whom looked different than most American kids.
Ortiz Cofer tried to change everything about who she really is just to get by for the day without
being judged. She was labled different, all she ever wanted to do was to be like everyone else. This
eventually led to her being depressed. Within the story, Oritz Cofer describes how terrible she
was treated due to her Puerto Rican heritage and skin color, and how she would never be able to
fit in. Minorities of different complexions get ridiculed and judged for their skin color by many
people every day. In this short story, Ortiz Cofer stated, I was born a white girl in Puerto Ricobut
became a brown girl when I came to live in the United States (Ortiz Cofer 393). This is the first
sentence in the story and it s showing how Cofer was right from the gecko being shunned for
having a different skin complexion. Because her skin color was too pale compared to others, in
Puerto Rico she was being called blanca or gringa. She thought she was a black sheep in her own
home town in Puerto Rico. She assumed her racial problems would end then, but in the U.S
instead of her skin presumably being too light colored, her skin was then considered too dark
colored. Her first racial prejudice racismoccurred when she went to a local grocery store owned by
3 Italian brothers to buy somethings for her mother, which she enjoyed the journey to and back
from the store, in her new hometown, Paterson, New Jersey According to Ortiz Cofer, the mean
brother, which was the meat butcherindicated her as being colored. Ortiz Cofer was surprised with
his comment, not being familiar to this slur, she then suddenly felt saddened. She then felt out of
place again, just like she was in Puerto Rico. Another time of racial racism that occurred in the
supermarket was when she was playing with the Susie dolls hair, and she wanted it for Christmas
this year. The butcher caught a glimpse of the little girl playing with this Susie doll and came up to
her and said,

My Plan For A Capstone Project
At SNHU, I have acquired a lot of skills that allowed me to complete my capstone project. I have
learned many concepts that help me to successfully finish with my entire program. To prepare such
a capstone project, it is indispensable to have some skills and knowledge. I received that
knowledge from the course I had at SNHU. I got the project managementskills. I now have
knowledge of the healthcare informatics. My communication skills have been ameliorated. Since
the project is about the healthcare system, I used my knowledge of healthcare studies to prepare
my report. Those studies included, but not limited to: Health Policy and Financing; Leadership in
Clinical Microsystems; Global Health and Diversity; and Health Policy, Law, Ethics and
Regulations. In Addition to that knowledge, the marketing skills have been helpful for preparing
the report. In sum; the courses I took at SNHU have considerably helped me to appropriately
prepare the capstone project.
All of those skills and knowledge are helping me in my workplace. For example, I have learned
from the Healthcare Informatics study, the concept of EMR and EHR and their meaningful use in
health care settings. Through that concept; nowadays, I have a solid EMR user in my workplace. I
will apply that concept in my future high position in the healthcare organizations here in the USA
or somewhere in the world. The Project Management and the Marketing studies ameliorated my
communication skills. One of my favorite classes was

When is it considered appropriate to use class action lawsuits? Anytime a significant amount of
people have been harmed or violated in the same or similar manner by the same individual or
group, it is appropriate to file for class action. The question specifically posed in this case asks if it
is appropriate to use class action lawsuits to challenge automatic phone calls related to elections. In
the case of Hayden Wreyford v. Citizens for Transportation Mobility, plaintiff Hayden is upset that
he received automatic telephone calls from CTM without having expressed any prior consent. The
issue here is that the company has, in the opinion of Mr.Wreyford, violated the Telephone

As time passes by, children grow up, and reach a point where they have to make decisions for
their future. Most of them will go to college, but it is their choice to make a big jump to success

want to do to help the candidates like me. I once had a Skype session with a student from APU
named Bek, and the session went quite well. He gave me some advice for my essays, the interview,
and some information about part time jobs for international students. That helped me a lot.
Furthermore, as a student studies about Asia Pacific region, participating in Multicultural events

understand more about the Asian culture. Besides, since I am partial to performing, singing, and
dancing at high school, attending the Latin American African Dance Club, and the Chorus Club is
a chance I will take to develop my hobbies, and relieve stress after class.
After graduating from APU, I want to stay in Japan, and work for the Vietnam Television Channel

American Diet Needs To Change Essay
America, a nice place to just stop at a McDonalds, a Burger King or any other fast food place and
order a nice juicy burger, but did you even know what was just in that burger? Some think that
America eats plenty of good choices of foods while others think that we are out of control when it
comes to food. It s clear that overall the American diet is out of control and needs to change. The
reason why it needs to change is because processed foods are addictive and can cause people to
overeat, because the nutritionstandards are not being met, and because the high obesity rate is
partially blamed by the fast foodindustry.
One reason that the American diet needs to change is that most of the processed foods that are

The last reason that the American diet needs to change is that America has the highest obesity
rate in the world. For example Dan Mangan of CNBC argues 67% of people believe they need to
only lose a median of 27 pounds of body weight . Americans need to eat a little less than they are
right now. When most people see a food that they are craving they often take one helping but
most take 2, 3, or even sometimes 4 helpings of that food. While some may argue that its too
difficult to change when the food is processed it is more true that the food industries produce
more fresh fruit than processed fruit. Some evidence from a USA TODAY writer Nanci Hellmich
argues that fast food industries produce mostly fresh fruit and are also making organic milk come
with meals . Yes some may say that they produce organic milk and fresh food but most of the fruit

The most attractive feature of this system is its100% coverage on the planet. It also helps you to search the nearby restaurants, hotels and gas stations and is very useful for a new place. Due to its low cost, it is very easy to integrate into other technologies like cell phone. The system is updated regularly by the US government and hence is very advance. This is the best navigating system in water as in larger water bodies we are often misled due to lack of proper directions. Disadvantages of GPS: Sometimes the GPS may fail due to certain reasons and in that case you need to carry a backup map and directions. If you are using GPS on a battery operated device, there may be a battery failure and you may need a external power supply which is not always possible. Sometimes the GPS signals are not accurate due to some obstacles to the signals such as buildings, trees and sometimes by extreme atmospheric conditions such as geomagnetic storms. пѓ Domain Research So many people have to arrived at the bus stop they have no way of knowing when the bus they want to board is pulling up to the stop. It s made and directed for girls. Every girl at school is talking about it. According to the group, girls finally get to be leaders . It does not appear as if there is anything bad that we would be doing in these groups. Others girls who are members say that the program is for our own good, for us to lead healthy lives and to even prepare for our careers, they even want us to just be happy girls . Well, apparently that is. But the agenda for it is just so demanding! so many excursions to attend, of these camping trips, hikes . He was telling me about how back at the academy, a boy was shunned by the others as he tried to denounce a fellow member . He was trying to do so over a minor problem, the boys not wanting to do a certain activity. According to Hans, denouncing another member was seen as taboo, that it was just it something you do . Though Hans feels that the other boy simply wanted to feel above everyone else . The ability to denounce people, made some individuals feel superior, as if they have so much power and that they have the ability to make others go through punishments . Then again, to some beings sent home was the worst punishment possible in the academy . Think about it, having so much influence over a set of people and denouncing someone gives one this feel of power. That they can do something so significant as ruining someone else s life. After Hans caught me up on events, we decided to take a quick walk outside. As we were walking, not too far from our home we noticed a group of boys taunting another boy in the middle. As we got a little bit closer, we noticed that the boys were taunting the one in the center saying that he has a nose like a kettle pot . The boy in the center just stood there, whereas the others were still laughing while making faces and gestures at him. Before the boys noticed us, Hans and I decided to head back home, forgetting about the rest of our walk. October 13th, 1934 The girls again were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Pursuant to their divorce decree, Tatsuo pays Maria $1,000 per month in child support and $1,800 per month in alimony. The divorce decree specifies that in the event of a court ordered increase in child support, the alimony payment amount will decrease by the amount of the child support increase. That is, Tatsuo s total monthly payment cannot exceed $2,800. Issues: How much of each payment is considered alimony? Such events that are included are: the child s attaining a specified age or income level, dying, marrying, leaving school, leaving the spouse s household, or gaining employment. Whether such event is certain or likely to occur is not considered in determining the contingency. A similar case to Maria s is presented in the court case, Heller v. Commissioner, T.C. Memo 1994 423 (1994). Heller (the petitioner) received certain payments from her former husband, some of which were designated as spousal support and the remaining were designated as child support. Heller received $1,700 per month as spousal support, none of which was reported on her tax return. The divorce instrument stated that future spousal support would be reduced by any court mandated increase in child support. The Court cited Sec. 71 (c) (2) of the Internal Revenue Code and said that the provision which allows spousal support to be decreased by future court mandated increases in child support is not considered a contingency related to a child. The Court then ruled that the payments received by the petitioner for spousal support should have been included in her tax return and constitutes taxable alimony. Maria s situation is similar to the Heller case. The increase in child support from a court order is not considered a contingency related to a child and does not decrease alimony. Therefore, as it was also noted in Treasury Regulations Sec. 1.71 1T ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Analysis Of The Story Every Little Storm Every Little Hurricane Literary Analysis Sadly, Every Little Hurricane is not truly about real life hurricanes. It is actually a forty year old native Indian short story. Every Little Hurricane is a representation for symbolism through the life of the native Indian family and community. The main character, Victor, is faced with the hurricane of life that is upon him. He sees this all around himself and in his dreams and past. The hurricane is struggle, greed, anger, satire, and retribution. The short storyis a love/hate relationship with Victor s family; as well as, the typical struggle for the everyday Indian life. 1976, forty years into the past on a cold New Year s Eve at young Victor s house in Spokane Indian Reservation. The main character, and protagonist, Victor is the lone child at a party of adults who are getting drunk at his home. There so, the hurricane begins. The parents of Victor are not solely involved in the story, but the main attraction was the uncles who fought one another, Adolph and Arnold. Those these two do not serve as antagonists, they create the swirling fronts that ignite the hurricane that night for Victor. It was the Indian life that serves as the antagonist. The life of an Indian was never easy and it shows its self in many ways. A drunken New Year s Eve party, what a blast latterly in the past! Yet, the action rises at this exposition with all the drinking and smoking occurring. Only to top off by fights and people being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The parent or mature Christian is fully engaged in the mission of Jesus Christ. People who are in this stage are those who are witnessing and discipling others, in the same manner that he or she was discipled. They are looking out for the immature Christians, and taking them under their wing to encourage, listen to, and strengthen them to maturity in Christ. The four spheres of relationships are as follows; the relationship with God, the relationship with family or home, relationship with church and believers, and the relationship with the world. The most important sphere is the relationship with God. This sphere or the relationship with God needs to be vibrant, fresh, and personal. All of the other spheres will work or be in line when our relationship with God is in line. The sphere dealing with the home can be taxing at times. The relationship here is much easier when everyone in the home are Christians. However, if dad is a Christian and mom is not, or vice versa, or perhaps a child or children surrender their lives to the calling of Jesus, and mom and dad have not, family relationships and harmony in the home can become much more difficult. Paul writes about how the relationships in the home should be. He talks about how each person should deal with the other. The book of Genesis tells us the story of Noah and how he was a successful father and husband. He was able to reach his entire family for God. It was his family that was saved ... Healthcare Malpractice Case Study Healthcare Malpractice Medical Malpractice occurs when a healthcare professional provides substandard care, whether intentional or unintentional, causing injury or damage to a patient. In order to demonstrate medical malpractice, the plaintiff patient has the responsibility of the burden of proof. The plaintiff patient must prove a preponderance of evidence, or clear concise evidence of malpractice by supplying four elements of proof. First the plaintiff must show that the provider owed the patient a professional duty of care. Next the plaintiff has to demonstrate that the professional duty owed to them was violated or breached. After that the plaintiff must demonstrate that injury resulted from the said violation or breach. Finally, the patient... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The three most common reasons for this are: 1.The employer is responsible for the quality of care at their facility, 2. The employer earns revenue from the negligent individual and, 3. The employer is more finically and economically endowed, usually through liability insurance to afford the cost. There are however a couple of exceptions to vicarious liability. One such exclusion is the intentional misconduct of one patient toward another patient. In this situation the employer or employee had no contribution to the situation. Another exceptions that would apply would be in regard to independent contractors and, or their staff. They are not considered employees of the facility and are generally responsible for their own conduct, however this does excludes Apparent Agency . Apparent Agency is a term used to describe the inability of a patient to distinguish the contractor from a regular healthcare worker of the facility. In this situation, the employer can still be held vicariously liable if there were no efforts to differentiate them from their own employees. An employer can also be held directly liable for an employee or contractors conduct under the legal concept of negligent selection and retention. This happens when the employer should have either ejected the individual for employment, carried out remediation for deficiencies, or discharged the individual from employment; this creates primary employer ... • 9. The Civil Rights Movement and To Kill a Mockingbird The beginning of the Civil Rights Movement era corresponds with the time that Harper Lee was writing about Scout Finch and her brother Jem. They live in the very state that events like the Montgomery Bus boycott would take place. The fictional town of Maycomb is in Alabama, the same state where Martin Luther King Jr. would rise to be the voice of African Americans aching for equality. The actual movement may have started in 1960 but that is the same year that To Kill a Mockingbirdwas published and huge events were rupturing the south, throughout the novel readers can see the attitude of a want and need for equality in characters and some events. Later, due to the events of the boycott, Martin Luther King Jr. emerged and was the movement s most effective leader (Clayborne Carson). He is known for his nonviolent tactics and his I Have a Dream speech. Martin Luther King Jr. was also a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and later became the president of the SCLC in 1957 following the Montgomery Bus Boycott. To Kill a Mockingbird was written and published in 1960, in the midst of the Civil Rights Movement (Carolyn Jones). This time was just a few years after events like the murder of Emmett Till, a fourteen year old boy accused of whistling at a white woman, the Montgomery Bus Boycott, and the ruling in Alabama that segregation on buses is unconstitutional happened (PBS African AmericanWorld). This goes to show that the time period had some effect on Harper Lee at the time. To Kill a Mocking bird takes place in the fictional town of Maycomb deep in the south. This town clings to its ideals, its traditions... People, especially blacks and poor whites are ... expected to remain in their places (Carolyn Jones). The town sticks to what it believes and that is that African Americans, and poor whites, are lower than all the others residing in this tired town. Symptoms And Treatment Of Peripheral Nociceptors At High... 1.Introduction It is estimated that 20% of the European population suffer from chronic pain.1 The understanding of pain in research has considerably developed from the simplistic pain gate theory.2,3 It is now understood that stimulation of peripheral nociceptors at high threshold triggers central pathways that travel via the lateral spinothalamic tract to the medulla and brainstem.4 Nociceptive information also arrives via spinoreticular and spinomesencephalic tracts; controlling autonomic, arousal and homeostatic responses.56 Sensory firing is just one influence to central pain processing. Large, fast conducting fibres (О± and ОІ fibres) inhibit small, multi synaptic, slow conducting fibres (C fibre) at the dorsal horn.13 Gaps were missing within this research due to available research resources; Noordenbos13 was unable to investigate past the spinal cord. This statement was unexplained yet it was a development in pain research. Melzack and Wall2 developed the pain gate theory based from the research by Noordenbos13. The theory explained what Noordenbos13 was unable to prove; impulses are projected to the brain via the dorsal column, where central processes influence the activity of the gate control system.2 Melzack3 critiqued his own research. The pain gate was too simplistic and only explained pain as a sensory dimension.3 Rather that, pain is an output of multi dimensional information being received and processed by a complex neural network within the brain, termed the neuromatrix .3,14,15 This guided away from the concept that pain was a sensation always produced by injury, inflammation or pathology to pain being a complex experience by multiple influences. The new explanation was also a suggestion to the nature behind some chronic pain conditions.3 Influences affecting such central processing extend from existing synaptic architecture imprinted within memory to neuro endocrine and immunological influences.3 Despite the resources of such knowledge being ... • 14. The Revolution of 1688 The Glorious Revolution, also known as the Revolution of 1688, refers to the events of 1688 1689. These events eventually led to the overthrow of Catholic King James II and the ascension (of William III and Mary II) to the English throne. These events also produced a significant shift in the relationship between the monarchy and parliament. This paper will discuss the overthrow of King James II, the rebellion and revolt and the consequences as well as the global effects of the Revolution in order to explain the importance of this event in world history. James II, king of England from 1685 1688, inherited a very strong position when he came to power. When James II first came to the throne, he was not very well liked in the eyes of the people of Great Britain, simply because he was a Roman Catholic King to an overwhelmingly Protestant nation. Like most politicians, James made promises to protect the peoples personal beliefs. At the beginning of his reign, James had promised to respect his subject s rights and liberties and protect the Protestant establishment in the church. Despite these promises, James decided to advance the Catholic tenets over the protestants. He did this by issuing dispensations to Catholics including the Test Act of 1673, promoting the public celebration of mass, forcing the universities to admit Catholics, issued a Declaration of Indulgences and also engaged a campaign to pack Parliament so that he would be able to establish Catholic tolerance by ... Knowles introduced his controversial theory of andragogy. Knowles was an American educator at North Carolina State University (Knowles, Holten III, Swanson, 2015). Andragogy is defined as a set of principles of adult learning that in turn enables those designing and conducting adult learning to build more effective learning process. Knowles determined there are 4 assumptions about characteristics of adult learners in 1980 and added a 5th assumption in 1984. His assumptions resulted into the 4 principles of andragogy. I have found that many times if I doubt myself, I talk myself into failure; therefore, it greatly benefits me to reassure myself that I can do it. Andragogy in Practice as a holistic learning model: Based on the 4 principles of andragogy, there is a need to explain the reasons that specific things are being taught, instruction should be task oriented instead of promoting memorization, instructions should take into account the wide variety of different backgrounds of learners, and since adult learners are self directed, instruction should allow learner to discover knowledge for themselves without depending on others (Pappas, 2013). Today, the focus of racism and prejudice isn t so much on Japanese Americans, but rather on some other minority races such as African Americans and Latinos. Prejudice among people today is both similar and different to the prejudice during and after World War II. An example would be the murder of Trayvon Martin, which compares to the murder in Snow Falling on Cedars. Many of the stories told today are stories about people who dealt with racism. Many people during World War II felt that the claims made against the Japanese Americans were false and unjust. The designer of this plan also has a dedicatory legend indicated to the top margin above the cemetery/orchard. The plan of St. Gall includes a church, scriptorium lodging for visiting monks, a monastic dormitory, refectory, school, kitchen, bake and brew house, guest house, abbots residence, an infirmary, numerous fields and industrial out buildings; along with fences, walls, gardens, orchids and roads. It is not only customer focused but requires total employee involvement along with a focus on process control. A strategic and systematic fact based decision approach is required for the continuous improvement of the company. The start of TQM is marked by the introduction of scientific managementprinciples in 1920s. But TQM being an extensive study, it requires an in depth knowledge, to be implemented to notice effective changes in the production or the defect ratio. For TQM to be implemented in the unit, all the employees need to go through extensive training which might result in wastage of time resources as well as there are chances of resistance to learn from the employees. • 32. Summary Of The MovieThe Martian 2014 The Martian 2015 is a very entertaining science fiction film which is accredited for its scientific accuracy. However, some artistic liberties were taken to make the movie easier to make and progress the plot. This paper will cover both accurate and inaccurate areas of space science featured in the film. The portrayal of Mark Watney s separation, habitation of mars, and recovery will all be analyzed. The way Mark gets separated from the crew is an area of inaccuracy. There are storms on mars, but the strength of them would be much less significant. Mars has no atmosphere so the winds would not be able to knock over the ship [1]. Though the storms may be dangerous to humans due to flying debris, such a large ship would not be so affected. The debris would not be as dangerous as shown. Even the strongest winds, up to 60 mph, on mars would have trouble keeping the astronauts from moving around, and would have a tough time picking up anything even remotely tied down [1]. The chance of debris knocking someone back and impaling them like what happened to Mark Watney would be very unlikely. The way habitation of Mars is portrayed is a mixed bag of accuracy. The gravity on Mars is 30% that of the earth, yet Watney moves around like any earthling [2]. This makes the movie easier to film, and if they had attempted to portray the gravity accurately, there would have been inaccuracies anyway. Radiation seems to be ignored almost completely besides for the device he uses to heat his rover. Being on mars for extended periods of time would increase the chances of cancer. NASA only allows 200 rem per year [4], which Watney would almost certainly exceed being on a planet with no atmosphere to protect from the Sun s radiation. This was probably left out as it would likely not have immediate effects on Watney but it s still a big concern for real astronauts. Communication was portrayed fairly accurately. The movie says the communication speed is 30 minutes there and back. Since mars is 54.6 million miles away, data traveling at the speed of light would take 3 minutes to get there [2]. Once data processing, inaccuracy, and other factors are accounted for, 30 minutes is realistic. (54.6 x 10^6 km)(1 hour/1.079 x 10^9 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Genetic modification provides the opportunity for parents to edit their child s genome while still inside the mother s embryo. For example, Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats, or CRISPR for short, is an editing technique that in short, is like two pairs of scissors. When a virus infects a cell, it inserts its RNA into the cell s DNAand tricks the cell into replicating hundreds of viruses until the cell bursts and the newly created viruses target new unsuspecting cells. CRISPR finds and cuts the RNA that the virus injected into the cell multiple times until it turns into small, separate pieces that pose no threat to the cell and then creates a normal cell. It is the branch of the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) that controls the body s reaction to physical and emotional stressors. The sympathetic branch activates the glands and organs that defend the body against attack. It is called the fight or flight response. This is a primitive response designed to protect from danger. When danger is perceived, the sympathetic nervous system responds immediately to prepare a person to stay and fight or take flight. The glucose obtained from the liver cells produces a surge in energy better known as an adrenaline rush . The hormones also bind to receptor cells on smooth muscle and inhibit the muscles of the stomach and intestines, slowing down the digestive process and allowing more energy for emergency functions. When these hormones bind to the smooth muscle cells of the bronchioles, they cause the muscles to relax allowing more oxygen into the blood. At the sinoatrial node of the heart, epinephrine stimulates the pace maker cells to beat faster. Epinephrine also contracts certain types of muscles below the skin, causing beads of sweat and raised hairs. Once fight or flight has taken place, another branch of the ANS, the Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS) can take over again, calming everything down and returning body processes to normal. The fight or flight response is useful in the short term because it assists the body in responding quickly and effectively in emergencies. However in the long term, the sympathetic response can become harmful. This is because the functions of sympathetic activation can put additional stress on the nervous system. If the sympathetic system remains highly active, the parasympathetic response will not activate and return the body to homeostasis. This means the body does not get the chance to recover from stress causing a number of physical and psychological disorders. In conclusion, the brain is a complex organ with the ability to cause ...
