This document provides an overview of different file formats for digital graphics, including raster graphics, vector graphics, JPEG, TIFF, PSD, AI, and 3DS. Raster graphics use pixels in a rectangular matrix and can capture small details but become blurry if resized. Vector graphics use mathematical expressions to represent sharable images but are limited to 20% resizing. JPEG files are commonly used but distort if resized after taking. TIFF files maintain detail when resized but have large file sizes. PSD files preserve Photoshop layers and data but are large. AI files have painting and drawing tools but require skill. 3DS files can be used for modeling, animation and rendering but are hard to use and incompatible with After Effects.

3. Raster Graphics
A Raster Graphic is a image of a matrix data structure with the use of
mega pixels, most of these images are based in a rectangular structure
so the image, does not become blurry.These Raster Graphics are used
via a monitor or you could even use it on paper.The advantages of using
a Raster Graphic is that you could get a small detailed photo, depending
on the amount of megapixels used in the camera. A disadvantage of
using a raster graphic is that you have to stick to the normal size of the
image once it is taken because if you do stretch the image it will become
really blurry so you will then lose all of the detail in the image.

4. Vector Graphics
Vector Graphics is within the use of points, curves, lines and shapes such
as a polygon.All of things are used by a mathematical expression to
represent images in a computer graphics, these graphics are mainly
used in computer games as a 2D model.These graphics can also be
made into a 3D model by using a OpenGL. But these graphics are
mainly created by via a computer and monitor because it is created on a
lot of software.An advantage of using aVector Graphic could be that
you could stretch the image and the megapixels will go with it so the
image stays in full detail. A disadvantage of using aVector Graphic is
that the drawing image containing trapping information can only be
scaled up to 20% larger or smaller.

In computing, JPEG’s is a commonly used method of lossy compression
mainly used in digital images.You could use JPEG’s to store digital
images in a number of JPEG files. An advantage of using a JPEG file is,

fact that it doesn’t take up much storage space.This was important
years ago when hard drives were much smaller, and the Internet
connection speeds were much slower. Many digital cameras are
automatically set to take photos in JPEG format.You can change the
automatic settings on your camera, but if you attempt to make the
JPEG photos a higher resolution after the photo is taken, it will severely
distort the image.

6. Tagged Image File Format
TIFF is a computer file format for storing raster graphics images,
popular among graphic artists, the publishing industry, these file
formats can be used by both amateur and professional photographers.
One of the major advantages ofTIFF files is that they can be edited with
most popular image editing software on the market. By default,TIFF
files do not use compression.The big advantage to this is that there is
no loss of image detail when a save is made. Since compression is not
used by default onTIFF files, the file size is generally quite big.This is a
big disadvantage ofTIFF files. UncompressedTIFF images can take up a
lot more space than a JPEG.

7. PSD
 A PSD, can also be named as a portable or a personal storage
device (PSD), inside this you can store small hard disks
designed to copy digital photographs from a camera so this
can be very useful. A advantage’s of using PSD could be,They
can contain a lot of Photoshop specific data that the other
formats can’t, such as paths.The layers are preserved when a
file is saved using the PSD file format.You can go back, at
anytime, to make changes to the layers. A disadvantage of
PSD could be, it is an Adobe format that should probably be
only used to save Photoshop files and Do not distribute PSD
files unless you are doing a Photoshop tutorial or something.

Adobe Illustrator (AI) is a vector graphics editor developed and
marketed by Adobe systems.The latest version, Illustrator CC, is the
seventeenth generation in the product line.An advantage of using
Adobe Illustrator is that It has a super mix of tools for both painting and
drawing.A disadvantage of Adobe Illustrator is, Since it is a design
software some amount of skill or training is require to master it.

9. 3DS
3Ds is one of the file formats used by the Autodesk, the 3Ds can do
multiple things such as modeling, animation and it can also be used for
rendering software, for something such as a video. An advantage of
3Ds max is that there is a wide range of choice on tools to use when
modeling.A disadvantage of 3Ds is that, it is very hard to use and you
also can’t integrate inAfter affects.
