3. Location recce
Location:
Time?
Date?
Why?
The photo shoot had taken place on the 11th
December 2016 an between the hours of 10 am
and 4 pm .
The reason why is because it is a
flexible time for me and my
photographer to work around, and get
all the photos required for the
magazine in one day.
Picture needed/Required
Shot type
Props/equipment
Lighting
Costume
Person/people
Why?
The shots I used where a different arrange of close
up , mid-shots and long shots. The only prop that
was used was the guitar. We used arrange of
natural lighting and studio lighting to get the right
shots . During the shoot the model change her
positions to portray her mood or anything that
made her feel comfy while being photographed.
The reason why I am using a range of
different shots ,is because I can choose
the best images that will make the front
cover and DPS. With these different
angles you will be able to see her facial
features and outfit.
Permission needed
Contact needed to evidence
of this?
The photoshoot took place in a studio that
belonged to the artists so permission was given by
the artists
The reason why I used a studio is
because it is an environment that the
artists is comfy with.
Potential hazards/ Risks
Location specific why?
While on location the only hazards that could come
up are lose wires or any hair products, that will be
used to style the artist hair e.g. curling wand.
The reason why having lose wires can
be classed as an hazard is because
someone could trip over them and hurt
themselves . Also the curling wand can
be a hazard as it can over heat or if not
used and they could burn someone.
4. Hazards at the work place / risk assessment
The health and safety at work act has thirteen different headings and ten schedules. These consist
of the following general duties, commission , regulations and provisions. These duties can be about
the worker having to look after themselves and any one else who could be affected by their work.
Also it’s the law for workers to be working in a place where their health and safety surroundings are
controlled regularly and if there is any questions or concerns that they should talk to their manager
or supervisor.
You can see that I have completed two risk assessment as I have two different locations
, as I need to make sure that the location is safe for me to shoot there and has no risks.
5. Ethical & legal Issues
From this I recognize that all complaints are handled by a regulator body as the
screenshot explains how all are switched to IPSO that now handle all complaints .
6. Role of Relevant Regulatory Bodies
The editor’s code is a set of rules that newspaper and magazine
industry members have agreed to accept. It sets the standards that
newspapers and magazines can be held to account by IPSO and is part
of the contract between IPSO and the newspapers and magazines it
regulates.
7. IPSO Continuation

when not to publish inaccurate or misleading information that is not
supported by the text. If there is misleading text they must be
corrected followed by an apology when re-published. Fair

reasonably called for. The press must distinguish clearly between
comments and facts. A publication must be reported accurately with
the outcome of an action for defamation to be a party, unless an
agreed settlement states .
• Privacy:

8. Ethical & legal Issues
Ethical and legal issues means a problem or situation that requires a
person or organization, to choose between alternatives that must be
evaluated as right or wrong.
9. Ethical & legal Issues
In the magazine top of the pops the stereotypical audiences are
girls between the ages of 12-15, these type of people are
represented by there website as they illustrate girls singing and
playing guitar as they want to be famous one day when they
grow-up. Also else where in the magazine they have a whole
page dedicated to there readers , where they show they with
there magazines or using the free gift that came with it, there
girls in the photos look no older than 12 and it has there name
,age and reason why they like the magazine so much under their
photo.
10. Copyright and IP
Copyright is legal right that protects the use of your work once your
idea has been physically expressed. The current copyright legislation in
the UK is the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. IP is Intellectual
property refers to creations of the mind, such as inventions; literary
and artistic works; designs; and symbols, names and images used in
commerce.
This links to my magazine as the company of the magazine will have
legal right to the magazine and logos that could be used. So no one can
take right with out the companies consent.
11. Watermark
Originally a watermark is a more or less transparent image or text that
has been applied to a piece of paper, another image to either protect
the original image, or to make it harder to copy the item e.g. money
watermarks or stamp watermarks
This links to my magazine as the images that will be used will have been
taken by myself so I have the right to gain money if people in other
industries want to use my images.

12. Editors Code of Practice
It is the first revision of the Code since, in a landmark move fulfilling
another Leveson recommendation, independent lay members joined
the Editors' Code of Practice Committee, and the chair and chief
executive of the Independent Press Standards Organisation became full
members

13. Data Protection Act 1988
The Data Protection Act controls how your personal information is used
by organisations, businesses or the government. They must make sure

14. Conclusion
To conclude it’s is important that any worker is not putting their health
and safety at risk. Furthermore, when I’m given the chance to do
another photo shoot, I will need to make sure I’m allowed to take
photos in the places provided and follow the regulations. As for legal
and ethical , following the editors code is crucial and that I produce
truthful work that would not cause any offence or discrimination. As
well as that I need to make sure all my work is copyrighted so all
original content is mine.
