1. Legal, ethical, moral issues
I need to consider that there are many number of constraints when producing
journalism, for example legal and ethical issues. Copyrightis an issueI will face
as I am taking images fromgoogle to include in my wix site, I will have to ask
the owner for permission beforeI use the image. I will include my own
photographs which I do not require any copyrightclearance.
I will also have to consider Ethical issues as I am going to interview Manchester
united supporters and hear their opinions on the football team, u cannot be
biased and aim to get the same opinions that are similar to mine, I have to get
many different opinions in order to gain a fair interview. I haveto be accurate
with the information I use. According to IPSO ‘Clause1 Accuracy’ ‘’thepress
must take care not to publish inaccurate, misleading or distorted information,
including pictures’’.
I need to be careful as IPSO handlecomplaints about breaches of the Editors’
Code of practice, they also operate a new complaints procedurethat is
designed to achieve speedy and fair resolution of complaints. Also according to
Clause 4 I need to check that my Film review column doesn’t ‘’harass’’ or
concern the audience of my publication intends to publish information that
believes to breach the Editors’ Code, that IPSO may beable to assit.
