Crafting an essay on the subject of "UK Essay" can be a challenging endeavor, as it requires a
comprehensive understanding of the diverse aspects that encompass this broad topic. One must
delve into the historical, cultural, social, and political dimensions of the United Kingdom to
provide a nuanced perspective. The complexity lies in synthesizing information from various
sources, ranging from historical documents to contemporary analyses.
Navigating through the vast sea of information can be daunting. Deciphering the intricacies of
the UK's historical evolution, political structure, economic policies, and societal dynamics
demands a keen analytical mind. Moreover, addressing the diverse perspectives and opinions on
the subject adds another layer of complexity to the writing process.
The research phase alone can be time-consuming, requiring a thorough examination of academic

a careful balance between facts and eloquent prose.

2. Marilyn Monroe Life
Most actors are seen to have perfect and balanced lives, but others have had to
overcome challenging times and obstacles. Marilyn Monroe had many challenges
throughout her life that she had to overcome. Norma Jean (Marilyn) grew up
without a family or a supportive mother, her acting career was continually off and
on, and she had a rough personal life and history. Marilyn had a pretty rough time
growing up, but she managed to fight through it all. While Marilyn was growing up
she didn t have a family, and she didn t really have a mother. Marilyn s mother is
Gladys Monroe Baker. Her mother lived in an institution for most of Marilyn s life
because she had mental breakdowns. Marilyn s biggest fear was that she would
one day end up in an institution just like her mother did. Throughout Marilyn s life
she was put into twelve different foster homes. One time her foster parents were
leaving to travel to California and she didn t want to be put in another foster home
so she got the idea to get married. Not only did she stay in foster homes she also
stayed in an orphanage a few times. Marilyn had a hard time adjusting and getting

she was turned down. During her career she had bounced between many record

After nineteen films she had finally gotten her own dressing room. Marilyn had been
an actor for about sixteen years. It was stated in her biography, Marilyn Monroe was

3. Cherokee Police Force Case Study
On August 31, in a picket camp on Highway 3 outside Cherokee, Iowa, a car sped
from the darkness and sprayed the farmers with shotgun pellets and rifle fire,
wounding fourteen. When picketers determined that a sheriff and two others, one a
bank officer, were responsible for the assault, farmers from neighboring Plymouth
County vowed to avenge the shooting by attacking the Cherokee County Courthouse.
The Cherokee County sheriff begged Governor Dan Turner to call out the state militia
but Turner denied the request and responded that local law enforcement must handle
the problem without state aid. Terrified, the town of Cherokee became a temporary
armed camp and awaited an assault that never came. On August 30, Sioux County

On January 10, 1933, at the Plymouth County Courthouse, Le Mars attorney
Herbert Martin pled the case on a deficiency judgment for the New York Life
Insurance Company which held the mortgage on lands owned by John A. Johnson.
Johnson held a mortgage of $33,000 on his estate near Remsen, Iowa, and Martin
placed a bid on behalf of the New York company for $30,000 which would force
Johnson to remain $3,000 in debt. Johnson would then still be responsible to pay the
remaining debt serving as a tenant on his former land. The roughly 300 Holiday
Association members in attendance, who also called themselves the Plymouth
County Council of Defense, demanded Martin bid full value on the property. Martin
refused and claimed he had no ability to raise the bid, which enraged the crowd; the
farmers rushed the county courthouse, assaulted Martin and Sheriff Ralph Rippy, and
dragged them both down the courthouse steps. When the farmers reached the street,
they again demanded Martin bid full value. This time Martin agreed to contact the
New York company, and the enraged farmers escorted him to the local telegraph
where they dictated Martin s telegraph with the ominous conclusion, Rush answer,
my neck at risk. The distressed lawyer frantically wired the insurance company that
his life was in jeopardy, and the farmers held him as a prisoner in the telegraph office
until the company wired its agreement to

And...
Queen and Freddie Mercury s Importance and Influence on Artists
Queen is an iconic rock band from the 70 s whose influence transcends genres and
continues to inspire and affect artists to this day. There are three main reasons that
Queen continues to be so influential and well known, even decades after their peak
has passed. The first and most obvious reason is Queen s frontman, Freddie Mercury,
and his amazing performances and extraordinary vocal range. The next reason is
Queen s accomplishments and the many awards they won during their time. The final
reason is their tendency to take risks, break the mold, and experiment. Many well
known artists have been influenced by Queen due to these reasons. The fact that
people continue to be so ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I also cited many reliable dictionaries such as Merriam Webster s Dictionary, Oxford
Dictionaries, and Cambridge Dictionaries to define different key terms that appear
throughout the paper.
Queen s music is still a significant part of today s pop culture. Their music continues
to be played on the radio regularly and also still makes appearances in TV shows,
commercials, and movies, with a recent example being the soundtrack of the film
Baby Driver (2017). Two more examples of Queen s songs appearing in film are
the use of the the song Bohemian Rhapsody in the 1992 film Wayne s World, and
the use of the song Don t Stop Me Now in the 2004 film Shaun of the Dead. Don t
Stop Me Now has also recently made an appearance in commericals for the 2018
Toyota Camry. The fact that Queen s music is still so popular to this day is a
testament to their timelessness and their talent. Most people have probably heard a
Queen song at some point in their life, whether it was on the radio or in a movie.
Freddie Mercury was the lead singer of Queen until his untimely death in 1991, and
he is what made Queen so iconic. Mercury once said I won t be a rock star. I will be
a legend. And he did exactly that. Mercury is considered by many to be the greatest
frontman of all time. He was admired

Advantages and Disadvantages of Vertical drains / Prefabricated Vertical Drain

PVD method is commonly used and it is more effective than other techniques.

When installing PVDs, it does a minimum disturbance to the soil layers.
High water discharge capacity in PVD method.
Customized cores and filters to suit the various soil conditions.
In PVD method, it can go up to 4om in deep.
When comparing with PVD and sand drain method, PVD has a minimum cost and it
is more effective than the sand drain method because, There is no risk of PVDs
breaking installation, while sand drains have discontinuities. And also there is no risk
of shear failure of PVDs during settlement, while sand drains are vulnerable to shear
failure.
To receive a better consolidation, the sand has to be carefully chosen in sand drain
6. Father Time, By Elie Wiesel
Time, from one person s experience to another, from day to day, from emotion to
emotion, varies more than the individuals who experience it. Yet time still can be
measured. People, almost from the earth s inception, have had a desire to regulate
time. This is still seen today, with all the watches, phone clocks, wall clocks, analog
clocks, digital clocks, grandfather clocks, atomic clocks, timers, and stopwatches.
Unfortunately, while it is possible to measure the actual emissions from an atom s
atomic transition, it is impossible to measure timeperception in different
circumstances. Both the poem Time Is , and the statue Father Time , portray the
integral role of time in humanity. Upon observing the sculpture further, it is

The actual working clock that is within Father Time is symbolic of the fact that
society has focused so much on timing, that it is now, in the case of Father Time ,
literally within us. His tie swings back and forth, and his eyes slowly shift side to
side, taking in his surroundings, telling time. Father Time is a constant reminder to
those who Wait, ... Fear, ... Grieve, ... Rejoice; [and] ... Love (Lines 1 5), that
nothing is timeless, regardless of what we may be experiencing. Time Is , and Father
Time create an understandable explanation of time, all the while continuing to
provide beauty and artistic value, one must simply take the time to
7. The Struggles Of The City Of San Bernardino Essay
The struggles of the City of San Bernardino, California are well documented; one of
the highest crime rates in the state and the country, extensive acres of urban blight, a
median household income under forty thousand, which has left residents living in
poverty, a cash insolvency as a result of mismanagement, which has left the City in
chapter nine bankruptcy for three and a half years, and a political climate distorted
from lack of experience, and conflicting ideologies and agendas. Also well
documented is the strained relationship of between the City and the Unions that
represent its employees. Most notably the firefighter s union, which has sued the City
on numerous occasions over pension, overtime and overall work conditions. As part
of the City s plan to exit bankruptcy the firefighters will be annexed into San
Bernardinocounty fire. This moves makes it that much more important for the City
and the union to resolve its differences for the good of the firefighters. Keywords:

8. Laertes A Foil Character In William Shakespeare s Hamlet
As we all know Laertes is a foil character to Hamlet, but what is a foil character? A
foil character is someone who contrasts with another character and you will find out
how. Although some minor similarities, the differences between Hamlet and Laertes
are noteworthy and they deserve accurate analysis. Hamletcould best be described as
a thinker. Hamlet speaks seven soliloquies, which allows us to truly see Hamlet s
characterization. He has an inability to act and that s one of his tragic flaws.
Hamlet s first soliloquy is best described as troubled (Act 1, Scene 2). He
contemplates suicide and hates his life after his father died and his mom remarried
Hamlet s uncle, Claudius. When Hamlet hears of his father s death he does not
lead an army or even a mob. He is careful not to act rashly. At times Hamlet is
indecisive and hesitant, but at other times he is prone to rash and impulsive acts of
violence (Mabillard). Hamlet, unlike Laertes, is very emotional over his father s
death. Hamlet had many opportunities to kill Claudius, but instead let his feelings
get the best of him. A big part of Hamlet is his lovefor Ophelia, which is one of the
minor similarities of Hamlet and Laertes. I think he truly does love her and the
actual recognition of his love for Ophelia is shown when Hamlet realizes that she is
dead. Hamlet says I loved Ophelia; forty thousand brothers could not, with all their
quantity of love, Make up my sum (Act 5, Scene 1). Hamlet s father has only
recently died

Finance Departments for Training Future CEOs
In light of involvement with the department of finance, a CFO presents a conceivably
effective CEO for tending to the requirements of the corporation. CFOs perform focal
roles in organizations. In any case, these roles are centered predominantly on the
finance related viewpoint. The duties of the finance section areto make choices on the
activities to be executed within the corporation. This office is also vital in dictating
authoritative administration, hierarchical culture and general authoritative operation
(Kim Zhang, 2011). Subsequently, the office can be a proper place to train CEOs

nurturing CEOs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The responsibilities that a CFO has and thus the qualities that are required of them
are both relevant in dispensing the duties of a chief executive officer. For instance,
it is the duty of the finance division to control profit and loss. If a chief financial
officer is able to effectively turn a firm from making losses to making profits, then
it is likely that the CFO will be adequate for overseeing the entire firm in the role of
the chief executive officer. The department of finance also has many employees
working under the chief financial officer. A CFO who is capable of managing the
employees under them properly is a good candidate for the company s top
job(Fabich et al., 2012).Examples of CEOs with a background in finance are
Charles L Szews of Oshkosh and Patricia Woertz of Archer Daniels Midland.
Pros Cons of Hiring a CFO to be a CEO There are several benefits that comes with
enlisting a CFO for the role of the chief executive officer. One such benefit is the
assurance of broad, specific and reasonable in financial control and initiatives. The
firm can be sure that the budgeting within the firm is top notch since the CEO has
experiencing in those matters. The allocation of funds for various activities in the
firm is crucial for the growth of the firm(Kim Zhang, 2011). The skills and
knowledge possessed by CFOs can be utilized to ensure optimum allocation. Thus, a
chief financial officer presents appealing candidacy for CEO. A CFO

The UN report on the Battle and Siege of Sarajevo is a document that records the
events within the city from April 5th 1992 to February 28th 1994. The document s
purpose is to shine a light and describe the consequence of the Battle of Sarajevo
and its violations of human law. Sarajevo is the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The city s name is derived from Seraglio , meaning palace in the fields in Turkish.
Sarajevos history dates back to Roman times with the Slavs eventually conquering the
area. The cities architecture is comprised of 3 influences, which the text (UN report)

An attempt to control the streets and people would thus lead to catastrophic failure.
The Sarajevo Romanija Corps instead resorted to continuously bombarding the city
from the surrounding hills in order to stay in control.
It is in this environment that The Cellist of Sarajevo takes place. Resources are
scarce and enemy snipers gun down citizens. Within Sarajevo there lives a cellist
who was famous before the war. One day as the Cellist watches people line up
outside his window to buy food, a mortar shell lands in the middle of the group,
killing 22 of them. The Cellist vows to play Albonini s Adagio in the crater created
from the bombing for 22 days, one day for each of the dead.
Arrow is another inhabitant of the city. She is a sniper who was recruited to protect
the Cellist and defend him from enemy snipers who might gun him down. The
constant barrage inspires her to use her abilities to save lives. The character of
Kenan contrasts with Arrow. The bombardment has left him terrified of the city he
lives in. Every four days he makes a dangerous trip across town to fetch water for
his family. He also fetches water for his neighbor, an old woman who doesn t seem
to appreciate the risk he puts himself through for her. During his journey, he is
angered after seeing men drive around in fancy cars while he and his family starve.

Renowned Psychiatrist and author, Viktor E. Frankl, chronicles his imprisonment
and survival in Auschwitz and Dachau concentration camps throughout his
memoir, Man s Search for Meaning. Frankl describes his life in captivity during
the holocaust and how he overcame grotesque and egregious circumstances by
surviving through spiritual composure. Frankl s theory logotherapy, is the
certitude that humans are compelled to seek meaning in one s life over the drive
for pleasure. His theory has contributed greatly to the study of leadership and
influenced the lives of individuals by aiding them in the search for meaning and
purpose. Last of The Human Freedoms Frankl describes the last of the human
freedoms as the choice of one s attitude in any situation or circumstance along with
the freedom to select one s path from then forward. His view embodies the idea
that no matter the hardships one encounters, it is always possible to overcome and
prosper based solely on one s perspective. I agree with Frankl s view of the last of
the human freedoms particularly due to his concept regarding suffering. Suffering is
regretfully inevitable, however we may choose how to survive it, seek significance in
it, and eventually overcome it. Frankl states, Everything can be taken from a man but
one thing: the last of the human freedoms to choose one s attitude in any given set of
circumstances, to choose one s own way (Frankl, p. 66). The Ultimate Human Goal

21. Death by Driving Drunk
In todays world, one of the leading causes of death during driving is drunk driving.
Drunk driving not only puts you in danger but everyone around you in danger. There
are many ways that alcohol affects you that makes you drive very bad. To help stop
this, The police have made many laws regarding drunk driving and have made many
arrests regarding driving under the influence. There are also many stories out there
that make us wonder about the dangers and risks of drunk driving. Theres also many
laws and reforms being proposed to stop people from drunk driving. Alcohol
affects your body and your driving skills very much. Alcohol is a depressant so it
slows down your system. This includes your brain. Slowing down your brain causes
the driver to get distracted easily and can quickly change their mood. Drinking also
weakens your immune system increasing your chances of getting ammonia.
Drinking too much can also make you get cancer in places like the mouth or throat.
Drinking a lot could also result in liver failures and increased chances of heart
attacks. The more you drink, the more lethal the heart attack could be (unknown
name1). Alcohol is a depressant. That means that it slows down your reflexes and
makes it take longer to react to situations. Drinking affects the three parts of the
brain. These parts are called the cerebrum, cerebellum, and the medulla. The
cerebrum controls reasoning, voice, or recognition. This is why drunk drivers often
drive aggressively since

Alabama. He purchased land that was previously held by they Creek Indians and
built a house. The original house was built with native fieldstone by slave labor.
The home was known as the Rock House. Under the rock rooms there was room to
store fruit, vegetables, and other produce. There was a smoke house for curing
and preserving meat products. These were all a necessity to survive. In the grove
there were log cabins that were the slave quarters. Today all that remains of the
cabins is a lone chimney. John Coleman Boyd had about 1,900 acres and he
acquired other properties. After looking in further it was shown that John
Coleman s total estate was valued at $88,000 and that he owned 42 slaves. John
Coleman told a good friend Sam Jeter that a man should not stay in one place too
long. Because of this John Coleman went to Northeast Texas there he purchased
some land. He made his decision to move to Texas, he got the wagon train to be
loaded and ready to leave. The night before they were going to leave John Coleman
suffered a stroke. During his illness John Coleman continued to manage his Boyd
Tank properties by having some slaves pull him around the farm in a rickshaw type
cart. During his illness his wife Elizabeth sold some of his properties in Texas. He
later dies on March 2, 1861. William Ewell Boyd was the first child of William and
Mary Ann Boyd. He was born October 8, 1863. Many called him

rise in collaborative research and commercialization has important educational
implications, since it implies that team work has become more important in science

Executive Summary
Automation Consulting Services (ASC) has experienced rapid and tremendous
growth, resulting in several issues and problems within the company. Founders are
worried the company is out of control due to the increasing business practice conflict,
inconsistency in entrepreneur spirit and increase in office expenses. Thus they are
considering documenting a long term company strategy, monitoring office costs and
centralizing the control in order to address these problems.
The purposes of this report are to:

While this was a generally accepted pricing practice within the office to control
revenue, the Executive Committee considered this as avoiding responsibility for
poorly controlled projects and being unethical to some clients. Thus, they are
currently facing a dilemma regarding how they should regulate the individual offices
business practices without impacting the entrepreneurial spirit and local autonomy of
the company negatively.
The inconsistency in business practices stemmed from conflicting objectives between
the parent company and the acquired office. While the San Jose office is revenue
driven, the Executive Committee s objective is to maintain long term client
relationships.
Detroit
As the Detroit office is the youngest office, it did not have sufficient time to develop
its client breadth, thus it currently has only three large clients. Instead of trying to
diversify a client line, the partners concentrated on the current large projects, which
made up a majority of their revenues. Half of these projects will be completed in the
next couple of months and there are currently no new clients lined up for the near
future. As a result, more than half of the current staffs have no billable hours due to
the weak demand.

Like TED talk, for example, talking about how gaming can make a better world.
Although the implications of this TED talk are frightening. Since I would much
rather live in a world much rather live in a world on the brink of collapse than
spend every waking hour in front of mine. But I feel like that wasn t the message
Jane McGonigal was giving. But what drew me to make this conclusion was her
saying If we want to solve problems like hunger, poverty, climate change, global
conflict, obesity, I believe that we need to aspire to play games online for at least 21
billion hours a week, by the end of the next decade. (citation) But she goes in depth

But the only thing stopping them is their disbelief in being able to change the real
world and not just the virtual world. She later brings up the work of an economist
named Edward Castronova looking for a reason for people putting many hours and
cash in a video game. As he puts it We re witnessing what amounts to no less than a
mass exodus to virtual worlds and online game environments. Backing up his claim
by stating how gamers do more things in video games than they do in real life
because of the feedback and rewards they get from gaming than living. This led
Jane into to thinking about how we can make the world function like a game to get
gamers to be able to contribute to the real world as they would in the virtual world.
Helping not only us but also helping them with their struggles of feeling like they
are no help to humanity and that they aren t able to do what they do in gaming can
t be done in society. Then Jane gave a history lesson on a game that was played
with a sheep s knuckle, and how it was invented in the kingdom of Lydia, during a
time of famine. Since games are used to escape real world problems. This allowed
the kingdom to endure 18 years of famine.

27. Sex Offenders And Sexual Abuse
What is sexual abuse? Sexual abuse is the unwanted sexual contact between two or
more adults or two or more minors, any sexual contact between and adult and a
minor, any unwanted sexual contact initiated by a youth toward and adult and any
sexual contact between two minors with significant age difference between the two
of them (COSM.org) The research on sex offenders continues to be an ongoing
study. Since about 1969 the crimes associated with sex offenses have been in the
spotlight, but more so in recent years. Crimes involving sex assaults have many
labels. Crimes associated with these offenses are known as rape, child molestation,
pedophilia, sexual assault, and child pornography. Charges on sex offenses differ
from state to state in regards to punishment. Sexual assault can involve physical
contact which involves unwanted touching, penetration, etc. Sexual assault also
includes no physical contact which would include sexual solicitation through the
internet as well as sexual advances via internet, or cell phone etc. Profiling of sex
offenders often leads to many misconceptions. Often times an average person
would argue that sex offenders are white uneducated males. Also that they are
unemployed with a poor family history and past criminal records. This isn t always
the case, a much higher percentage of sex offenders are male but there are female
offenders. Examples of female offenses can be a mother who knew that her child
was being assaulted and chose not to do

Engineering Design Process Flight decks on planes are a complex series of
buttons, switches, knobs and lights. But pilots use each of these controls to
operate a different piece of equipment and navigate the plane safely. How do
engineers design the flight deck so it works most efficiently for a pilot? Its
questions like that which must be asked and successfully answered for a piece of
equipment to be functional and successful in a plane. Kirschen Seah is a systems

other engineers in her company, as well as with customers to imagine, design and

The designer starts making a rough model by using simple things like clay and ping
pong balls. Keeping the materials and design simple and flexible allows the designer
to easily experiment with and change the prototype. A prototype is the first working
draft of a piece of equipment. Once the designer is satisfied with the shape, they
make a drawing of the controller on a computer. Using the computer allows the team
to change the components shape and move the knobs and switches around easily.
Once they have an initial
concept drawn up for the controller, they can print a three dimensional copy of the
controller using a special device called a stereolithography printer. This lets them
handle the controller and check out the feel and position of the buttons, knobs and
trackball. If they want to change their position it is still easy to do at this phase. If
this all goes well, they are ready for testing. Kirschen helps with the projects by
providing hardware and software, which simulate an aircraft flight deck. This
mockup allows designers to test out new designs. Here designers can evaluate their
projects in a dynamic flight simulation and make sure they work correctly and are
easy for the pilots to use. Once the component has successfully passed on the
requirements it is ready for delivery to the client. How Can You Think Like and

29. Analysis Of War Of The Roses Lewis
The article War of the Roses by Brenda Ralph Lewis highlights the chain of
dynastically civil wars. The seed of the wars of the roses, the first of England s
two civil wars which saw the ruling Plantagenet family ruin itself in a struggle for
the Crown, were planted in the dank dungeons of Pontefract Castle, Yorkshire, 55
years before the first clash of arms ever took place, Their civil strife and violence
gave rise to the Tudor government.(Lewis 47) These wars were between the House of
Yorkand the House of Lancasterfrom 1455 to 1485. The names of these wars were
allocated several years after the two conflicting parties had come to an agreement.
The three primary causes of these wars include unsolved conflicts from the Hundred
Years War, societal changes and financial constraints, and dynastic issues. The end of
these wars marked the defeat of the English. Most of its land possessions including
Normandy, Maine, and Bordeaux. And they were lost leaving landowners and
mercenaries with nothing to call their own. The triumphant French wanted to show
dominance and power over England. Lord Talbot was sent by Henry to set Bordeaux
free. Although he was successful, Henry neglected his call for reinforcement, giving

The outbreak of black plague claimed thousands of lives which in turn negatively
affected the labor force (Lewis 51). This led to severe inflation of agricultural
products and labor prices resulting in reduced production levels giving rise to grave
famine. Also, the plague caused a change in social order; minor landowners took
over the land of the dead and instantly became upwardly mobile and wealthy. The
Treasury could not prevent the economic downfall of the country since most of the
finances were consumed by the French Wars making it bankrupt. These two issues
gave rise to numerous conflicts that led to the war (Neillands
30. Comparison Of Hoodwinked, Little Evil And Meet The
Robinsons
In all the stories that have come to be known none of them have broken from the
foretold path. They all draw on the same element or at least a few to achieve a
greater level of connection with the audience. The best stories say they are alive,
polarized, catharsis, invoke the wisdom of the body, and always trust the path. For
Hoodwinked, Little Evil, and Meet the Robinsons there is no difference, they each
play along to the audience so that they may continue to live and grow. Stories are
alive, not in the sense they are human, but like us, change and grow. The most
wonderful tale that we love as children has always been ever changing. Like Little

Which in turn allows the audience to walk away and start to adjust themselves to
accommodate the moral lesson or warning. In Hoodwinked, there are a lot of times
that Red must trust the path set before her. Every day as she riding around the
forest, the mine cart ride, flying through the sky and her grandmother tells her to
use the hood, and the way up and down from the mountain to the Bunny s evil lair.
Little Evil is a twist on one of the modern day occurrences of step parenting created
by the staff of Netflix.com. It draws on the idea that the kid is devil and is set of
getting him out of there. In this case the kid embodies the actual devil or the anti
christ. Proof that the stories always changing as long as it lives and is embedded
with some truth from life. As for polarity, a lot of characters show it. The main
couple of the story are at ends with each other because of the kid. They are at
opposite viewpoints. The mother overlooks the devil in him, as it is her son, and
probably the fact that she always has lived with it. The stepfather can t handle it,
he is constantly being threatened and every attempt he makes to get to know the
kid gets thrown back in his face twice as hard. The husband or stepfather is at odds
with himself because it s just a kid but also a devil and the rule of how to interact
with them conflict due to morals. The catharsis hits a good portion of the audience
due to a good percentage of them
31. Difference Between Private And Private Colleges
Public vs. Private Colleges
Many people struggle with selecting a college today because there are so many
options. Choosing a college can be a tough decision, but when you are selecting a
college, you should look for one that offers your specific major. This will help you
narrow down your options and help you decide on the college that is right for you.
Some people prefer state universities, while others prefer private colleges.
Students who attend public universities in their state of residence are given the
opportunity to receive education through the funding of state governments. This is
why the tuition is lower at public universities. On the other hand, private schools don
t receive funding from the government. They rely on tuition and private contributions,
and that is why the tuition is higher. If you attend a public university that is out of
state, the tuition will go up. An example of this would be at Mankato State
University, in state tuition is $18,127. If you are out of state, the tuition will go up
to about $25,870. Even if you choose to go to a university that is out of state, the
cost would still be lower than a private college in most cases.
When you are looking at schools, there are many factors you should consider,
including whether you would like to stay in state or go out of state. Generally,
public universities will have more in state students, whereas private colleges will
have a more diverse selection of students. Because private colleges are so

obstacles. Rudy overcame a variety of obstacles, challenges, and resistances in
order to accomplish his desired vision. Even from a young age, Rudy dreamed of

36. A Brief Note On Women And Informal Sector
1.4 WOMEN IN INFORMAL SECTOR
In many studies it is found that among all categories in the informal sector,
domestic worker income is the very lowest and they face many problems
(Sundaram,1966). They are mostly involved in household tasks, which include
washing utensils, floor cleaning ,washing of cloths, cooking as well as some
outdoor tasks such as purchase of vegetables etc. Most of them live in slums, lead
a monotonous life without any colour, struggle in the every day for their survival
for the family and face a number of problems in their day to day life like long hours
of work, insecurity regarding jobs , low status within the house as well as in the
outside world (Gathia,1983). (Bipul Hazarika, Saswata Ghosh 2002)
Women in particular are the much affected in the informal labour market, women
generally find employment in peripheral jobs of the large units as temporary ,
contract or part time workers. there are many women working as a domestic
servants, hawkers, construction workers and petty traders and women in search of

The game I have chosen for my critical analysis is Red Dead Redemption. Red Dead

Games (Rockstar Website). The major distributor of the game is a company who
happens to own Rockstar, Take Two interactive. Being one of the most successful
video game developers to date, Rockstar is famous for creating the popular and

I played the game on my Xbox 360 console. To capture the experience of the Wild
West, Rockstar consulted some historical experts in the field, along with channelling
a lot of time and money into the graphics of the game. According to a New York
Times online article, Rockstar spent between 80 100 million dollars on developing
the game (Schiesel 2010). I mention this statistic because this comes to show the new
era of devotion Rockstar brought to video game production.
In any video game, soundtracks can be an incredible boost in its overall character.
The soundtracks in Red Dead Redemption are authentic; it gives the game historical
flavour. What I mean by this is you truly get a feeling of the Western experience.
Rockstar brought on composers Woody Jackson and Bill Elm. In a behind the
scenes video, the composers explain that it is essential for them to find a balance,
paying homage to what was there but also trying to add our stamp to the music
(GamerSpawn, 2010). Another interesting fact they mentioned was the ability for the
game to launch certain lines of music to start based on your actions. For example, if
you jump on a horse, a bass line rolls in. If the player is in a shootout, the music
intensifies. The music helps reinforce the player s connection with the historic west
by creating familiar sounds associated with the Western era.
Before I mention the problem spaces of the game, I would like to continue back to

and ultimately expand the Carmelite brotherhood to a 496 acre monastery (Irma Lake
Ranch). Here, he could accommodate new men into the brotherhood, and build his
business establishment. For the past year Father Mary and his brotherhood have been
purchasing Arabica coffeebeans from Seattle, to distribute under the name Mystic
Monk Coffee. The problem that arises is the capacity that the current monastery can

The ranch would require more work to be able to keep up with lease payments and
general maintenance costs of the land and the four addition building that Father Mary
would like to build.
Recommendation
In a business aspect, purchasing the Irma Lake Ranch would be the best option for
financial growth. Here they could grow an unlimited capacity of coffee beans and
completely eliminate inbound shipping costs and broker fees, and could also
reduce the cost of sales down from 30% of revenues. If the monks were able to put
equal dedication to the coffee industry as they do to their prayer, then Mystic Monk
Coffee should be a success.
Action Plan Before anything else, Father Mary would have to approach the current
owners of Irma Lake Ranch and provide an offer to lease to own half the property
if they were willing to donate the other half. Donating half the land would be a huge
loss for the current owners, so an agreement could be set up where the current
owners of the ranch would hold shares in the company. This is a risky project to
undertake for the ranch owners, but the payoff could be huge.Once the monks moved
to the ranch, they could start developing the land into suitable crop fields for the
coffee beans. Here they can master their technique and get the highest yield possible.
Production possibilities could be unlimited which means customers could be
40. Communication Is A Form Of Symmetrical Communication
Communication can come in various forms. A person can write, speak, or even use
American Sign Language to communicate. Within communication itself, there are
various styles used and ways to receive feedback. To name a couple, two way
asymmetrical and two way symmetrical communication are two well know forms in
regards to Public Relations. Asymmetrical Communication happens when
professionals seek to pursue their publics into changing their opinions about certain
things. However, this attempt is usually unequal, given that professionals use
research to help them persuade their publics. Symmetrical Communication on the
other hand has a form of balance to it and can lead publics to change their attitudes
on their own.
I think that blogging is a form of symmetrical communication. Although it may seem
unusual, this is an actual form of communication. A person (both professional and
non professional) is able to publish their opinion about something and publics are
able to read and/or respond by commenting. Usually blog posts get overlooked.
There are probably a million posts that have been published, but no one has read.
However, well known bloggers or blog sites, like Perez Hilton, TMZ, Mashable,
and my personal favorite, The Shade room are all somewhat reliable sources. Many
of these are digital media. These are people and/or their sites that receive a ton of
feedback from their blog posts. The Shade Room in particular usually posts updates

The Interconnection of Poetry and Music in The Weary Blues
Langston Hughes s poem, The Weary Blues, is an example of an ekphrasis
emulating a genre of music, the blues. The poem has a musical feel, and its rhythm
and tone imitate those of blues music. The blues originated from African American
culture and became popular towards the end of slavery. Hughes communicates the
cultural origin of blues music by focusing the poem on a Negro who plays and
sings blues music. However as the poem progresses, Hughes describes actions that
cannot be known by just listening to the Negro. In the last two lines of the poem,
he states what goes on in the Negro s head while sleeping and describes him as
sleeping like a rock or a man that s dead. Why does Hughes compare the way he
sleeps to that of a dead man? How does Hughes know what goes on in the Negro s
head, and why does he end the poem with a disturbing description of the Negro s
sleeping state?
To understand the unusual comparison and disturbing ending, we need to see how
Hughes incorporates the features of blues music in the poem. The poem is written in
free verse and has no steady rhythm. Writing the poem without a consistent rhythm
and in free verse relates to the syncopated tune of blues music, ... Show more content

This connection does not just relate to their mutual pleasure for the blues, but as
indicated by the fifteenth line of the poem, Coming from a black man s soul, to
their common racial identity, being black. The racial emphasis is intensified by the
facelessness of the man playing the music. Hughes identifies him by Negro, a
general name for blacks, and in the ninth line, With his ebony hands on each ivory
key, describes the dark color of his skin pointing again to his race. Hughes may
intentionally be using the racial emphasis to describe the history of blues music,
which originated from African American
42. Evaluating A Nursing Care Plan
As a nurse, one must be aware of the Activities of Living (AoL), assessment
methods and understand how to formulate a Nursing Care Plan (NCP). When
tending to a patient, it is important to understand the AoL as well recognising how
they are affecting the patient, how to assess one s condition and what care needs
are priority when treating a patients symptoms. By having this knowledge a nurse
is able to develop a NCP more easily, therefore give the patient a greater quality of
care. When creating a NCP, one must assess, set goals, plan, implement and evaluate
the measures taken as well as incorporate a multi disciplinary team, to ensure the
patient receives the best care possible. (Holland et al. 2015, p.2), (Doenges, ME,
Moorhouse, MF, Geissler Murr, A 2002, p. 6).
The term Maintaining a Safe Environment (MSE) refers to the human body s ability
to protect itself and the biological mechanisms that it employs carry this out (Holland
et al. 2015, p.46). This ability to dependent on one s choice, action, identification and
understanding of staying free of danger. Factors that may affect Mr James ability to
maintain a safe environment include:
Maintaining homeostasis. Homeostasis is a state of body equilibrium or stable
internal environment of the body (Marieb, EN Hoehn, K 2016, p.1181). Mr James is
febrile with a temperature of 38.2 degrees. Due to Mr James infectious state his
homeostasis has been disturbed therefore increasing his temperature above the normal
43. Animal Farm Totalitarianism
In George Orwell s classic novel, Animal Farm, Orwell uses symbolism to suggest
that totalitarianistic governments do not always last. Symbolism is the use of a
person, place, thing, or idea to represent something else. Because of how they run
the farm and scare the animals into submission, Old Major, Mr. Jones, and
Napoleon are all characters in Animal Farm that symbolize totalitarianism. At the
beginning of the book, Old Major, a highly respected figure, had experienced a
dream that he had wanted to share with all of the other animals. Because Old
Major was becoming old and was living out the last of his days, the dream had
prompted him to gather the animals in the big barn to relay the dream
immediately. He urged the animals to rebel against Mr. Jones and take control of
the farm by scaring them into action. No animal escapes the cruel knife in the end.
(Orwell 9) he had stated. By the end of his speech, the animals were angry and
scared of how their lives would eventually end according to Old Major. Not long
after his speech Old Major died, but not without making the animals fearful of what
would happen if they did not respect his wishes.... Show more content on

Jones, the alcoholic owner of Manor Farm, ran the farm in a similar fashion to Old
Major. He scared the animals into obeying by abusing them and neglecting them.
The next moment he and his four men were in the store shed with whips in their
hands, lashing out in all directions. (Orwell 19). Mr. Jones would forget to feed the
animals and when they would attempt to get food, he would punish them with whips.
In turn, the animals would submit to him out of fear and Mr. Jones stayed in charge.
That is until they got fed up with the ill treatment and rebelled against Mr. Jones. The
animals chased Mr. Jones from the farm and once again got rid of

QUESTION: IDENTIFY AND EXPLAIN TEN (10) MACROECONOMIC
VARIABLES AFFECTING A NAMED BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT.

Economic Growth
Aggregate Growth Rates. Low or declining aggregate growth rates often weaken the
debt servicing capacity of domestic borrowers and contribute to increasing credit risk.
Recessions have preceded many episodes of systemic financial distress. Sectoral
Slumps. A slump in the sectors where financial institutions loans and investments are
concentrated could have an immediate impact on financial system soundness. It
deteriorates the quality of financial institutions portfolios and profitability margins,
and lowers their cash flow and reserves. In transition economies, these problems may
also arise due to lack of progress in the restructuring of state owned enterprises.
Balance of Payments
Current Account Deficit. A rise in the ratio of the current account deficit to GDP is
generally associated with large external capital inflows that are intermediated by the
domestic financial system and could facilitate asset price and credit booms. A large
external current account deficit could signal vulnerability to a currency crisis with
negative implications for the liquidity of the financial system, especially if the deficit
is financed by short term portfolio capital inflows. Financial crises that have

Lt. Cross will have to carry the weight of Lavender s death for the rest of his life.
He felt ashamed and hated himself. (O Brien 16). Lt. Cross trembled and tried not
to cry as Kiowa explained how Lavender died. Kiowa, who saw it happen, said it
was like watching a rock fall, or a big sandbag or something just boom, then down.
(O Brien 6) Narrowly escaping death or seeing their comrades die has an
everlasting effect on soldiers. Soldiers have to live with the constant fear of dying
and anxiety. They took up what others could no longer bear. Often, they carried
each other, the wounded or weak. (O Brien 14) In combat situations soldiers rarely
have time to think they must react quickly. They are in the middle of a war zone
and in physical danger. They are forced to take the lives of others and many
soldiers regret doing so. Soldiers have to live with the constant fear of dying and
showing their fear will reveal their vulnerability to both the enemy and fellow
soldiers. Afterward, when the firing ended, they would blink and peek up. They
would touch their bodies, feeling shame, and then quickly hiding it. They would
force themselves to stand. Awkwardly, the men would reassemble themselves, first
in private, then in groups, becoming soldiers again. (O Brien 18) After a mission is
complete a soldier is full of emotions but is most thankful they are to be
