Beethoven Seventh Symphony Analysis
Pratt Carrol stated that Music is the language of emotion, and emotions tend to be the same the
world over, in spite of differences in social customs and language. In other words, music is a
fabulous expression of the human being no matter the culture or norms because it manages to
immediately transmit different feelings and emotions that other forms of art may not transmit.
For my Introduction to music class I decided, to write about the Seventh Symphony in A major (Op.
92) by Ludwig van Beethoven. The reason why I choose this symphony is because it s an emotional
piece of music, and it definitely catch my attention since the moment I heard it. I feel this
symphony reach emotional situations that are above human explosions. Emotional areas that
invade us through a contradictory fact between feelings. The Seventh Symphony in A major by
Beethoven appears in 1813. The orchestra contains two flutes, two oboes, two clarinets in A, two
bassoons, two horns in A (E and D in the inner movements), two trumpets in D, timpani, and strings.
Beethoven insisted on directing it at its premiere, with tragicomic results. The critics recognized a
new genius of Beethoven; even today there are experts who consider it as the best of their
symphonies. Richard Wagner, another fervent Beethovenian, describe this symphony as all tumult,
all yearning and storming of heart into the blissful insolence of joy, which snatches us away with
bacchanalian might. For its relentless dance rhythm and

Symbolism in Fuentes Aura Essay
On the surface, Fuentes Aura is a very strange and eerie book. It draws you in and keeps you
there, forcing you to read the book to its very end. Just below the surface, a world of symbolism,
words and parallels lead to a greater understanding of what is happening throughout this
captivating tale. Skimming the surface of the story, an abundance of symbols can be signaled out,
but a recurrence of symbols is very important. One of the most prevalent symbols found in this
story is the darkness of Senora Consuelo s old colonial mansion. The house is so dark the
characters must learn to maneuver by sound and touch. The darkness sets the tone for the whole
story. Senora Consuelo s room is not bathed in light but filled with perpetual... Show more content

This association with the feminine energy may be why the smell patio plants remind him of
Aura. The dining room usually corresponds to what one is feeding the body, mind, or soul.
Although the parlor, or living room, is only mentioned in passing, it is often associated with
one?s current state of mind or personal situation. The bedrooms have more obvious associations,
as I am sure you can imagine. Sexual activity, intimacy, vulnerability, passion, security, safety,
comfort, and feelings of connectedness and or closeness all correspond to what one thinks of a
bedroom. Bedrooms are very personal rooms, and what is kept in them often reflects part of their
character. The number three is seen numerous times throughout the story. Aura can only stay for
three days at a time. There are three parts to General Llorente?s memoirs. These three sections are
each bound by a ribbon that is one of the three primary colors. There are three types of animals
roaming the house. Felipe eats three evening meals that consist of the same three foods, liver,
tomatoes, and onions. Felipe lights three matches when he goes looking for Aura in the dark patio.
It is in the third photograph that Felipe realizes he is the young General. So the number three seems
to be a pretty important symbol if it is repeated so much throughout the story. The most obvious
association the number three has is with the Holy Trinity and this association feeds into some of

Importance Of College Tuition Based On Income
College Tuition Based on Income A college education is the road to get out of poverty. However
it is expensive, and the lower class can not always afford it. It seems like the rich get a good
education and remain rich for generations, while the the poor can not pay to get an education, so
they remain poor for generations. The gap between rich and poor would get bigger if this trend
was real, but the government wants to give everyone a chance to pursue happiness, so there are
many scholarships and grants the poor can get to get a good education. Now there is a question
whether college tuitionshould be based on income? No it should not because all this would do is
hurt the rich, the poor already get a plentiful help to get whatever education they want. Income tax
is based on the amount of money you make, so the rich pay more and the poor pay less. Now
they want to do that for college? How is that fair? The rich have earned their money one way or
another, even if it is passed down from previous generations. They have to pay more just because
they have more? The government is for the people, rich and poor, so why are the poor only ones
being given support. What is the point of getting rich if your money is going to get drained? As of
now, college has a set price. However, it fluctuates with the amount of
Khangura 2 financial aid and grants a student can get. Financial aid is judged by parents income
and level of education. Because the rich do not get financial aid, they

Imperialism In Africa
Imperialism was a time of new inventions, technology, and many other things. Imperialism had
many positive things like, transportation, spread of technology, and an increase in education.
Because of Imperialism transportation became a thing. Also communication with other foreign
countries became a thing. Then there was an increase in education too. Without imperialism
transportation would not be a thing. One example is railroads, railroads are used for transporting
people to and from their destinations. Another example are steamboats, without steamboats
people would never be able to transport their goods to and from. People will say but slaves made
these railroads. Well without transportation everyone would have to walk to every single place we
wanted to go. Because of imperialism spread of languages around the world started to happen. An
example of this is that now tribes can communicate with other foreign countries, this is good
because now we can understand tribes and what they are trying to say to us. Also other foreign
countries can communicate with each other, like africans can now learn and speak english because

The Treaty Of Versailles And Japan
On January 1919, Saionji Kinmochi, Japan s representative to the Versailles Peace Conference
found himself seated alongside the leaders of the Big Four (Great Britain, France, Italy, and the
United States). This occasion marked Japan s status as one of the world s great powers after the
First World War. More importantly the Treaty of Versailles expanded the Japanese Empire
because it legalized Japanese annexation of former German concessions in China and its colonies
in the South Pacific. Although far from the battlefields of Europe, Japan was an active participant
of the First World War because of the Anglo Japanese Alliance. The alliance called for mutual

In 1858 Britain imposed another treaty called the Anglo Japanese Treaty of Amity and Commerce
which forced Japan to make concessions to Britain such as the opening of the ports of Hakodate,
Kanagawa, and Nagasaki to British commerce. For a while parts of Japan were turned into semi
colonial status, which motivated the Meiji regime to modernize and strengthen Japan. Although
Britain imposed unequal treaties to Japan, it helped Japan to modernize, because Britain played
host to the Japanese delegation that studied the political system, industries, education, and the
militaries of the western world. The military cooperation between the two countries was especially
strong because the leaders of the Imperial Japanese Navy were keen on modelling the organization
after the British Royal Navy. Since the 1870 s, Japanese sailors and officers were sent to the
United Kingdom to study the methods and organization of the Royal Navy. Moreover the newly
formed Imperial Japanese Navy acquired some of its first vessels from Britain. In 1894, a new
treaty called the Anglo Japanese Treaty of Commerce and Navigation was signed which paved the
way for the Anglo Japanese Alliance in 1902. Unlike the previous two treaties between Britain and
Japan, the 1894 treaty was a breakthrough agreement because it heralded the end of the unequal
treaties and the system of extraterritoriality in Japan. British citizens living in Japan were now

The Hollow Hope By Gerald Rosenberg Essay
Throughout the 20th century the medium of music has allowed for artists to convey their
thoughts and feelings on important political topic facing the nation at the time. The power from
these songs derives itself from its ability to create a relationship between the listener and the
artist and allow for the message to transcend social barriers. A more recent instance of an artist
using his music to connect important social issues with a wider audience, is rapper Frank
Ocean. Ocean revealed to his fans and the world that he was a homosexual. This admission sent
shockwaves throughout the rap community, one that has been marred with constant criticism of
perpetuating homophobia and extreme male ego. His groundbreaking 2012 album, Channel
Orange, allowed for many people to no longer be afraid of their sexuality and it is something that
should be embraced. Frank s impact will never fully be realized, but he undoubtedly has made an
impact on society and a stereotype breaker in the rap community. This paper discusses the article
by Gerald Rosenberg, The Hollow Hope which describes the effect of political mobilization being
sparked from litigation and how the courts have become an avenue for social change. The article
specifically looks at the rise of the LGBT movement after landmark Supreme Court cases and
whether this sudden mobilization in support, brought an even more fervent opposition.

Millionaire Next Door Analysis
The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas J. Stanley and William D. Danko clarifies the principal
reasons why a few people are tycoons and others are most certainly not. As opposed to prevalent
suspicion, most moguls are extremely parsimonious and are not hyperconsumers. They don t have
costly, extravagance, remote autos, they have humble homes in working class neighborhoods, and
they spending plan for every one of their costs. Most tycoons live well beneath their methods. That
is definitely why they are moguls. The vast majority who procure high salaries are not rich, and
they neglect to gather any enduring riches. They spend their cash as quick as they procure it.
Keeping in mind the end goal to gather riches, the creators propose that individuals need to play
great offense. You should spending plan, spending plan, and spending plan. The creators clarify
how the normal individual gains riches through seven shared factors.
The primary shared factor is to live well beneath your methods. As expressed some time recently,
most moguls are extremely economical. They know how much cash they have and where each
penny of it is spent. They make a month to month or yearly spending plan or both. Generally,
they try to do they say others should do and pass these qualities onto their kids. They spare cash
and realize what it takes to have the capacity to resign serenely. They don t live extravagant ways
of life. They are readily to pay for quality things however surely not as a picture

Dubliners Dilemma Analysis
The Dubliners Dilemma is a one man show directed and performed by Declan Gorman. The
story was about an author James Joyce was having a hard time to publish his book Dubliners .
But later on there was Mr. Grant Richards an early potential publisher but quite nervous whether it
would be a threat to him and his firm or not since this book contents some sensitive information.
However, at the end he decided to give it a try after numerous rejections before and the book was
finally published in 1914.
Adaptations of Joyce s works and stage biographies of the writer abound, making it hard for a
writer to determine his effort and to create an appeal that will extend beyond tourist audiences or
Joyce aficionados. Gorman, a compelling performer, frames his Joyce a montage on the fraught
publishing battle that preceded the appearance of Dubliners in 1914. Most of the drama, however,
consists of nearly verbatim enactments of Joyce s texts of An Encounter , Counterparts , A
Mother and Two Gallants . Gorman enacts roles from that of the insufferable snob, Mrs. Kearney,
the eponymous mum of the latter story, to the little boys in the others. Set in the offices of Grant
Richards, Joyce s cautious but eventual publisher, Gorman as Richards, begins his correspondence
with the author in Eoghan Darcy and Edward Stevenson s clever, utilitarian set comprised of
stacks of folded cardboard boxes the size of reams of paper which function as office furniture.

President Mckinley s Influence On The Cuban Revolution
On June 26, 1897 President McKinley also convinced Madrid to end the policy of reconcentration
and try having programs to help the Cuban people. President McKinley proclaimed that America
and Cuba had a special relationship this seemed to be a threat towards Spain and that they should
heed Americas request to stop battling Cuba. The killing of Antonio CГЎnoras del Castillo made it
easier for each region to compromise. Because of his death General Valeriano Weyler wanted to
help the refuges and to also form a Cuban autonomy. The Queen of Spain Maria Christina came
up with this plan during November of 1897 the rebels refused this proposition because they
knew that Spain would stay in power and have a strong army. Spain did not give up the idea of
being in power and kept fighting a useless war. Many of the Spanish peninsulares hated the idea
of autonomy and would do anything in their power to stop the new official Spanish policy. The
revolts that were going on during this time made America not trust Spain and made America
believe that Spain cannot control their affairs. Cuba had many revolts for example, both sides in
Cuba preferred war to reform, and the rebels declared for full independence (342). On February
15th, 1898 an American ship named the Maine was visiting Havana, THE MAINE then exploded
in the harbor and had 266 casualties. With no evidence Spain was the first to blame for this travesty

Why Do People Join Gangs
As a result of my study on gangs, I have discovered that the reasons that people join gangs are
because of getting involved with drugs, having uncontrollable emotions, experiences with failure
and unhealthy relationships. I agree with those being the causes of why people join gangs and
also believe those causes can be prevented. By having healthy lifestyle choices, I believe they
would not join a gang. Other people might say that becoming involved with gangs can not be
controlled due to family and ethnic cultures endorsing it.
The addiction of drugs is a cause of joining gangs, because once a person gets hooked they are
only going to want more. The connection to drugs comes from gang involvement. If a teenager is

the wrong crowd and start to create a bond with them. A prevention to creating a dangerous

The Success of the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917 Essay
The Success of the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917 Part 1 Karl Marks was not Russian and he
died 34 years before the Russian revolution, he was a German who spent most his life in England.
He worked as a journalist but wrote books on history, religion, economics, society, and philosophy.
Marx hated the system of capitalism because he thought that it was capitalism that had produced
the problems of industry, poor living conditions and the social gap of the rich and poor. He thought
that the system destroyed people and made them greedy and that people only wanted something if

His third and final solution was if people are working for the good of everyone else then there

they could be achieved. Vladimir Ilch Ulyanov, also known as Lenin which was a secret
codename he had adapted so he could not be caught by the government on plots to overthrow
them, was brought up in a well educated middle class home and he was the third out of six
children. He left school first in his class and looked to become a scholar. He looked set to
become a well educated and mature young man at the age of sixteen but things were soon to

first was of his fathers death when he was threatened with early retirement because of the
government s fear of public school education and had soon died after. The second was the death
of his eldest brother; he had been hanged for conspiring with a revolutionary terrorist group which

Theme Of Irony In Othello
Irony is the literary technique used and plays a great role in Othello. The most sinister and
threatening character is Iago, and therefore he creates tension and combat in the play. The use of
irony in Iago s monologues are what stimulates the action in the plot and intensifies it for the
audience, characters, and the readers. It also gives insight to Iagos true intentions and character. Iago
uses ironyin this way as a sport, and for his own personal happiness. Iago has a reputation for
honesty, consistency, and straightforward speaking. Othelloand others in the play refer to him as

Dramatic irony helped to build interest in the play, as only Iago and the audience know about
his plan, while the rest of the characters are manipulated. The audience is left wondering if
anyone will figure out Iago s deceiving plan before a tragic ending occurs. Consequently, the
audience s emotions are highly invested in the play, as we know Desdemona is innocent, and
does not deserve the doubt against her. The dramatic irony in the play is the most jealous
resentments over offenses that only Iago planted the seeds of, which creates the tragic events of
the play. On the other hand, verbal irony is used by Iago through his contradictory words which
suggests the opposite of his true identity. Iago speaks carefully and at length with Othello, and
uses his words wisely. He is then easily able to manipulate any character in front of him and plants
suspicion and jealousy throughout the play. In the end, Iago uses his mendacious traits to raise the

considered to be much more employable. This means that I, as a college graduate, would be more

College will also help in preparing an individual such as myself for a career in a particular field. In
almost all of the highly specialized job professions, if one does not have a college degree, there is
little to no possibility of securing a career in that field. Also, college will give students like me

Melting Pot Metaphor In Terms Of American Culture
Q2: What is the significance of the Melting Pot metaphor in terms of Americans attitudes towards
race and ethnic assimilation? Why was the idea of assimilation or Americanization so important to
many people during the early 20th century? Why was the Melting Pot idea altered to a Salad Bowl
metaphor in recent years? Which idea (melting pot/salad bowl) do you see as more appropriate in
terms of teaching kids today? Why do you think the need to assimilate has been deemed as
important to us as a nation and why has it proven so difficult for many groups?
Answer: Race and ethnic assimilation is a very important ideal for Americans as a whole, both
individually and as a nation, and was especially important during the 20th century, when radical
nativism was rampant, causing the belief that those immigrants who weren t properly
Americanized, or assimilated, would be the reason for misery and strife among the nation.
This was later confirmed to the American people when a Polish immigrant s son assassinated the

It allows for a fair compromise to be put into place where an immigrant per se is able to maintain
aspects of his or her culture, while being open to embrace American values as well. However, for
some this may be a much more difficult task as their own ideologies have been engraved into
them, making it merely impossible for them to assimilate. Sometimes, the so called fair
compromise becomes unreasonable as too much sacrifice is expected of immigrants; they are
forced to give up significant portions of their identity in change for Western ideals. This
pressurized conformation process to become an American creates conflict by forcing people to

Examples Of Evil In Macbeth
The definition of evil is profound immorality, wickedness, and depravity, especially when
regarded as a supernatural force. The readers see these qualities in the main character, Macbeth.
This play, written by William Shakespeare, starts off by portraying Macbeth as a hero who helped
to win the battle for Scotland; this is the first impression of Macbeth. Macbeth is not the only
character that readers see profound immorality in; evilis seen in the people around Macbeth as he
makes his journey to the throne.
First, evil is shown in Macbeth when he expresses that he is willing to do anything to obtain
complete power. After the war is won, Macbeth is told by the witches that he will be promoted
to Thane of Cawdor, and even has the opportunity to be king of Scotland. Macbeth is indeed
promoted to Thane of Cawdor and immediately gets anxious to be king, and right now. Macbeth
is willing to kill the current King Duncan to earn his throne. This evil deed is the first time we
see wickedness in Macbeth. Macbeth says, Stars hide your fires! Let not see my black and deep
desires (I. iv. 52 53). Macbeth is now admitting to his own evil thoughts. Macbeth s killing streak is
not over and he will not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second time readers see evil in Macbeth, is when Lady Macbeth tells her husband that he is
not a real man when he is questioning if killing the king is what he needs to do. Yet do I fear thy
nature; It is too full o th milk of human kindness to catch the nearest way: thou wouldst be great,
Art not without ambition, but without the illness should attend it (I. v. 2 7). Lady Macbeth is now
as greedy as her husband for the power. She is the one who convinces him to kill his first victim.
As the show goes on, her less strength and confidence about their reign seems to hinder. Lady
Macbeth ends up committing suicide because she cannot handle the guilt of all the dispare she and
her husband have placed on

Causes And Effects Of Anthropogenic Ecosystems
Anthropogenic activity has affected a large number of ecosystems in the world including the
earth s oceans. Atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) have been escalating since the rise
of the industrial revolution and are now at a far more prominent rate than previously
experienced in the Earth s history primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels (Wood et al.,
2008). The concentration of CO2 in the Earth s atmosphere now surpasses 380 parts per million
(ppm), which is more than 80 ppm over the highest values of the past 740,000 years (Hoegh
Guldberg et al., 2007). As a result, the oceans have absorbed approximately 25% to 30% of the
CO2 in the atmosphere acting as carbon sinks and decreasing the rate of CO2 rise in the
atmosphere, which has had a direct effect on the ocean s chemistry (Logan, 2010). This results in
the most prominent phenomena known as ocean acidification, which worsens day to day as CO2
enters the oceans at a more noteworthy rate than ever before, diminishing the ocean s natural
buffering capacity and lowering the pH (Wood et al., 2008). This is documented to have a
significant threat to marine species. As CO2 enters the ocean and comes in contact with the water,
it reacts and changes the chemical properties of the ocean itself (Wood et al., 2008). This process
produces carbonic acid that breaks down into bicarbonate, carbonate, and hydrogen ions that
increase the acidity. The ocean s pH commonly ranges between 7.8 and 8.2, yet, recent studies show
that

Essay on The Modern Relevance of Themes in James Joyce s...
James Joyce is widely considered to be one of the best authors of the 20th century. One of James
Joyce s most celebrated short stories is Eveline. This short story explores the theme of order and
hazard and takes a critical look at life in Dublin, Ireland in the early 20th century. Furthermore,
the themes that underlie Eveline were not only relevant for the time the story was wrote in, but
are just as relevant today. The major theme explored in Eveline is the idea of order and hazard. In
society, the idea of order has a lot more positive connotation than hazard. People often quote
popular sayings such as life is not always greener on the other side of the pastor to indicate this
belief. Contrary, the idea of taking... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A second group of readers however see Joyce s reaction to Eveline as uncompassionate. These
readers do not blame Eveline for not choosing to take a chance, but rather see Eveline as a
sympathetic character. These people look at the decision that Eveline is faced with as very
fortuitous, and therefore hold the belief that Eveline cannot be blamed for her decision not to leave
Dublin. Other critics of Joyce have seen his fierce criticism of Eveline as chauvinistic. This
argument is based on the idea that Joyce, a male author, does not have the right to criticize a
female character, in this case Eveline. Furthermore, there is evidence outside of his criticism of
Eveline that some would say furthers the case of Joyce s chauvinism. For example Joyce was
once quoted as saying, Men are governed by lines of intellect women: by curves of emotion
(Think Exist). Many quotes said by Joyce such as this one could be viewed as chauvinistic.
Whether or not Joyce s criticism of Eveline is chauvinistic is up for debate, but one could
definitely make the case that it is. Another major theme of Eveline is Joyce s criticism of life in
Dublin in the early 20th century. One criticism Joyce has of the people of Dublin was covered
above ,which, is he believed that they settled for routine over taking opportunities to make a better
life for themselves. Joyce is perhaps critical of this trend to not settle for the norm

Plato s Views On Democracy
In The Republic of Plato, Plato, in addition to sharing his views on justice, shares his views on
democracy using a fictionalized Socrates to outline the most pressing issues. Plato s views on
democracy are negative; he believes democracy to be bred from a response to inequality of wealth
and to heighten all of humanities worst traits. Platobelieves democracyleads to unequipped leaders
who hold offices and power without the necessary traits and preparation.
The main issue Plato has with democracy, as outlined in The Republicof Plato, is democracy has a
uniquely level playing field for all and that this leads to people working toward endeavors that
do not suit their best abilities, which goes against Plato s own image of justice as Plato s image
holds to the idea that justice is primarily found in the community more so than the individual and
that it is realized on an individual and societal level when people help to advance society by
working toward endeavors that best suit their natural abilities (55). This democratic equality, the
author feels, leads to those who are unequipped and unprepared to rule leading the masses. For
example, Plato utilizes the metaphor of the ship to show this issue of democracy, that many of the
crew, though not equipped to lead, will try to steer to steer the ship and that the struggle will
eventually lead the crew to wreck the ship (195 196).
Plato also associates democracy with tyranny, noting that when freedom is taken to an extreme it

An inevitable consequence of economic growth is increasing inequality. Do you agree or disagree
with the assertion?
In the world we live in today, it is quite obvious to see that inequality is a growing consequence of
economic growth. In this essay I will discuss how inequality affects states and the individuals
living in the state. There are increased demands for educated workers; dependence of technology;
privatization of markets; and the rise of capitalism which have led people to have drastic
socioeconomic differences in wealth and lifestyle.
Inequality in the economic sense is the difference in distribution of wealth and income between the
people of a population, or even the difference in wealth between states. Though it is an ... Show

Inequality is also abundant in countries that are not integrated into global markets. It is clear to see
that, developing countries that have been open to trade have had the fastest growth, reducing global
inequality (Birdsall, 84), but what about the countries that have not been able to adapt and join
commercial links to the outside world? African countries have always remained the poorest
economically, as they do not have the means to produce and export goods to countries around the
world. These countries vastly differ from those such as Japan who sought out economic relations in
other countries through technology licensing, and openness to foreign investment (Birdsall, 84).
This widespread development is happening all across Asia, especially in China and India.
Although these two countries have surpassed the development speed of developed first world
countries over the past 15 years, it would take them almost a century of constant growth at rates
higher than those in today s industrialized countries (Birdsall, 80) to even be at par with the current
level of income in the United States.
Another inequality of economic growth stems from the rapid increase in technology and the lack
of qualified or educated employees to fill these positions. The invention of the computer was one
the most life changing developments ever to hit the world as it improved processes,

Benefits of Physical Education in Elementary and Early Childhood Settings
The need for quality physical education in elementary schools is an important needed foundation for
young children to maintain a future healthy lifestyle. The benefits of having physical education in
elementary schools are endless. For example, physical education helps fight childhood obesity,
lower the risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes, and promote active children to be active adults.

However, they noted that schools without the funds to hire properly trained physical education
teachers will have to rely on current staff members to cover the new physical education classes
(Borland, 2011). Unfortunately, this becomes a problem in most schools, because teachers feel
like there is not enough time to focus on physical education because they are burden by producing
test scores also. However, it is not a lost cause. Teachers can implement physical education in their
classroom in simple methods of the lesson they are teaching. For example, in math, teachers can
have students count their jumps, while they jump up and down, or do jump in jacks when spelling
out words. Schools are evaluated on test scores for core curriculums like math, writing, and reading,
not body and fitness. Understandably, those subjects are very important as well as physical
education.
Research has shown that there are ways to alleviate the budget constraints for physical education.
There are four grants in particular to help. One is the Carol M. White Physical Education Program,
the main program by the federal government for elementary schools. The grant is given to
community organizations that distribute funds to assist schools with their physical education and
after school programs. The funds are given to Local Education Agencies, or LEAs, that then

To Kill A Mockingbird Conflict Analysis
Another narrative convention that significantly affects the communal norms and judgmental
nature in To Kill a Mockingbird is conflict. The conflicts that Harper Lee expresses, displays the
hatred and social injustice Maycomb truly has in To Kill a Mockingbird. The person versus
society conflict aids in revealing the depths of Maycomb s society. Maycomb s community is
like the ocean, the surface is blue and clean, when one dives in deep into the ocean, and one can
see it for what it really is. Looking deeper into Maycomb uncovers the true society. The social
discrimination is often shaped by societal norms. It is expected to be socially unjust to blacks, but a

Judge Taylor and the rest of the jury were pressured into being social unjust and racist according
to societal norms. If the jury had not followed the public standard, the town of Maycomb would
have caused mayhem. The jury was not expected to take Tom Robinson s word because the norm
is that one must be racist and that a white s word is worth more than a black s. The town would
have been shocked if Tom Robinson won. Therefore this conflict demonstrates the importance of
the judgement and societal norms in Maycomb s community. This is important because this
means that the law force is biased. Another way this is crucial is because if the law is willing to
slack off in such an important case like this, what other things have slipped through their fingers?
This decision costed a life and soon, if this continues, this could cost many, more lives. The result
of this decision shows the social unjust in To Kill a Mockingbird that Harper Lee wanted to
illustrate through the person versus society conflict. This affects everyone in Maycomb as
everyone is slightly or more biased and the receiving end of the judgment or action could be

Wright points out, Efforts to replicate the Cuban Revolution through rural guerrilla warfare had
failed, most of them dismally; the urban variant of guerilla warfare, while meeting with initial
success in Uruguay and Argentina, ultimately succumbed to counterinsurgency measures and to
its own limitations (p. 165). There were also the revolutions from above, for example, the
actions of the Peruvian military and the elected government of Salvador Allende. These
revolutions held out new hope for a few years until both came to abrupt ends. The most visible
results, by the end of 1979, of two decades of tried revolution and reform were the
antirevolutionary regimes that ruled nearly half of Latin America s population and its most
developed countries. (Wright, p. 165) Wright concludes the book with a mention of series of
developments in the early 1990 s that signaled the end of the era of the Cuban Revolution. The fall

Hector The true hero of The Iliad
Throughout human history, mankind has venerated heroes because they possess the ideals that
people strive to achieve themselves. The appearance and importance of heroes in The Iliad form a
major part of what makes it such a celebrated tale. The concept of heroism, however, for the ancient
Greeks and modern society is quite different. The Greeks viewed heroes as humans usually
descended from the gods and in possession of superhuman strength and an aptitude for battle .
Achilles clearly fits the above definition and therefore it comes as no surprise that he has
historically been viewed as the main hero of the epic. However, the modern day definition of
heroism, more than just strength and prowess in battle, encompasses the idea of a moral
responsibility: defending one s people from harm and sacrificing one s own desires or life for the
sake of others. Hector proves to be a great warrior, referred to as man killing Hector by the
Achaeans, and therefore can be seen as a hero by the Greek perspective. However that is not the
defining characteristic of the Trojan Prince. His character revolves around a sense of moral
responsibility towards his people, his culture and his family, and using his power to defend them,
sacrificing his own life in the process. The goal of this paper is to prove that Hector, not Achilles,
is the true hero of The Iliad.
Early on in the tale we

Gender: Women, the Lesser Sex Throughout the Ages When one thinks of art and religion, one
may think of gender role defiance and non conformism. While this may be generally true in present
times, it was not always this way. Women and men have had distinctly different places in society,
these places often being unequal. Generally most well known works throughout the ages have
adhered to and represented what society regarded as the proper gender roles for men and women.
This is represented in three works of art which will be discussed: Hamlet by William Shakespeare,
The Courtier: Book 3 by Baldassare Castiglione, and Luncheon on the Grass by Eduoard Manet.
While these three forms of art come from different times and are of different mediums, they are
connected in that they follow and represent the gender roles of their time. Hamlet is regarded by
many as Shakespeare s most well known work. A tragedy focused on revenge, this work awed the
Elizabethan audience with its shocking themes and content. The play follows Hamlet, a prince who
is fixated on avenging his father, who was murdered by Hamlet s uncle Claudius. Throughout the
entirety of the play, Hamlet behaves erratically and irrationally, focused entirely on revenge. This
play features two prominent female characters, Gertrude, Hamlet s mother, and Ophelia, a girl in
love with Hamlet. Out of the entire cast, these are the only two females with names, and they are not

Mandarin is China s official language.
Chinese Communication patterns can be easily misunderstood by people sometimes leading to

Speech On The Last War
Battles come and go but for Henry it seems he is in a war everyday of his life. It has been three
years now since his last battle but not a second passed when he doesn t think about what
happened three years ago. Thesis He is in good shape and he is working everyday to keep it that
way. Henry has settled down in a small house that is just right for him. It is early May and news
have just came in that the U.S can be going into another against a rebellionarmy that hatted the way
the U.S was ruled. The government said that they assembling the same army as the last warbut with

The next day Henry makes a routine for the army to do. So he shows them how to do it and for 5
hours they practice which formation to get to during a certain situation they practice how to aim
and shoot well and how they will march into battle. For the rest of the week they did the same
thing until it was drilled into their heads. The following week it was all about working as a team
to have each other back and how we can win the war but protect our army at the same time. It
was like a perfection after 2 weeks. It has been three weeks and there is 2 weeks until the battle
and they got for information on the rebellion army they are planning to separate into 4 groups and
surround the U.S army. So after this Henry started to think that we can set a trap on them. He
finally came up with the idea and told his army. The idea was that we will tell one of the spies
that they spotted us in a certain area and we will hope and take their position but then we won t
be there and in a minute we would have to attack them from behind. It was a good idea but they
had to time it perfectly so the rebellions don t get time to think and realize what was happening.
They had week to prepare for this and Henry took every minute seriously if anyone would screw
up he would make them step out of the group and give him a punishment. He started to act like a
real General now. He wasn t thinking negative anymore it was all positive but he still had a little

A Contemporary Healthcare Issue Of America
Each of the minorities showed some type of a Contemporary Healthcare Issue.
From the America Indian/Alaska Native Tribe who felt as though they were being underserviced,
to African Americans who were receiving less or no healthcare service because of the color of
their skin and whether or not whites receive better care than minorities when it came to receiving
proper healthcare when admitted to a hospital for services.
American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) Tribes It has been over 110 years since the United
States entered into a treaty agreement with the Native Indian and Alaska Native Tribes. The reason
for this treaty agreement was so that the United States could gain access to their land in return of
receiving certain services.
Initially the treaty was set up to provide these individuals with adequate housing, education and
healthcare. This was considered a legal binding agreement between the federal government and the
tribal nation. Congress enacted the Snyder Act to comply with the treaty in 1921 before initiating
this act the American Indian and Alaska Native tribe had a program called the Indian health
program which was an agency under the Department of Interior.
Indian health program was replaced by the Snyder Act that became the first law that was set in
place to allocate funds to these tribal groups to cover all aspects of healthcare on a recurring basis.
Overall these years there has been improvements to this treaty. In 1954 the Public Health Service

Pathos For The Humane Society
The advertisement I am doing is for The Humane Society Of The United States. The Humane
Society is encouraging people to support and fund their organization to protect abused animals.
This organization is important because they help animals who are cruelly abused and neglected. I
am writing about this because it is important to treat animals with love and kindness. It does not
matter if they are on four legs and can not speak, they still deserve to be treated as if they were
children.
This advertisement s primary appeal is pathos which is used to make a person emotional. When you
see the animal shivering and filthy behind the bars it makes people emotional, the music is also
dedicated to make a person feel emotional. These commercials make

How Temperature Affects The Chemical Luminol
I. Science Fair Question
How does the temperature affect the eerie blue glow created by the chemical luminol?
II. Background Research Have you ever wondered what police investigators spray on the crime
scene to see if there is any blood present? This paper is going to discuss how temperature affects the
chemical luminol. The following terms will be explained; Luminol, chemiluminescence, photon,
and catalysts. Luminol is a chemical that has the special property of emitting light when it reacts
with certain other chemicals (Crime Scene Chemistry The Cool Blue Light of Luminol). One of the
traits of luminol chemiluminescence is the blue glow. The glow in a light stick are because of

sulfate will be added to the mix. Copper sulfate dissolves and reacts with luminol (Crime Scene

History Of Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever
Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever
History of Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever
Since the last epidemic of ebola hemorrhagic fever or ebola people have been trying harder than
ever to find a cure for it. The origin of ebola is undefined as of this current moment, in other words
no one knows how ebola came about. The first outbreak of ebola that was recorded was in 1976
in Sudan and Zaire. It infected 284 people with a mortality rate of 53%. It came about along the
Ebola River hence the name Ebola. The second one happened a few months later it had the highest
mortality rate which was 88% which is the highest of any ebola virus. It started in Yambuku Zaire,
Democratic Republic of the Congo. The third did not affect people, but monkeys. It was discovered

Luckily she was right. She never got sick with ebola.
A little girl ended up in an orphanage. Why? Both her parents and her brothers had died because
of ebola. The story was recorded by Ed Sheeran. He said that what the little girl has gone through
isn t like anything we could ever imagine.
There are many other stories but if I told them we would be here all day. It would take up more
than ten pages to tell all the tragic and some happy stories.
How can we prevent Ebola from happening
Honestly there is no way that we know of to prevent ebola from coming back. But if you know
of someone that has ebola STAY AWAY FROM THEM AT ALL COSTS. It only takes one to
create an epidemic. Try not to come in contact with monkeys either as much as they are fun to play

Masks In Ancient Greek Mythology
Elektra, who plotted a revenge with her brother Orestes against their mother Clytemnestra and
stepfather Aegisthus for the murder of their father Agamemnon, is a very significant and complex
character in ancient Greek mythology. In the opera Elektra by Richard Strauss and Hugo von
Hofmannsthal, there are some distinct stylistic features from Classical Greek theater. They are
masks, customs and chorus. In ancient Greek theater, masks are significant element in ceremony
and celebration. Greeks believed that the way in which the mask was to melt into the face and
allow the actor to vanish into the role. In the opera Elektra we watched, all the character were
maked up with exaggerated colors and style, which looked like masks on actors

Art Analysis Of Norman Rockwell s Breaking Home Ties
The painting Breaking Home Ties was painted by Norman Rockwell in 1954. I chose this piece
of artwork specifically because it is the type of artwork that I can relate to as artwork. Norman
Rockwell is an artist that I grew up knowing his name through the type of artwork he created.
Rockwell s paintings were influenced a lot by his own familyupbringing. The still art that he
created is known for not being modern art but rather people of the idealized America, something
that many people felt was misleading, an era of depression and change, but also artwork that was
the easiest to view because it was practical. The setting appears to be at a rundown railway station.
Usually country stations like this do not see many stops from people coming and going. The
railing that is barely visible at the bottom of the picture reassures that is indeed a train station. The
aged truck that the boy and his father are perched on while waiting, was nothing fancy and served
its purpose for transportation. More than likely this truck has been in the family awhile and is
considered an heirloom being handed down. The weathered flooring that lay to the tracks could
withstand some replacement, but that would probably not be logical with the little business that
runs through this part of the countryside. Rockwell s painting shows a man with his son, possibly
leaving for college, which is something that is not a common thing for country folk. If time is
taken to analyze the painting, although it appears practical, many ideas can come from the
simplicity of it. The father and son appear to be of a blue collar, middle class family. The
importance of this, is the timing of the painting. Rockwell painted this picture directly after
America had been through an era of depression. A time when family and togetherness was amidst
the important things in life. Rockwell liked to paint the real picture of humanity through his own
eyes, and many times relating to his viewers in that same way. Regardless of the reason, that we
may never all agree on, the image he created for our imaginations focused a father and son parting
ways. A father, quite possibly dressed in his best, will see the boy off and give reassurance that
there is a better life to

Darwin s Theory Of Biological Evolution
Evolution refers to the processes that have transformed life on Earth from its earliest forms to the
vast diversity that characterizes it today (Campbell, 1993). However, a lot of things can change
over a period of time. The Father of Evolution who is known as Charles Darwin, developed the
theory of biological evolution. This theory has long been debated during and after darwin s time.
Biological evolution can be seen through a momentous change in organisms by changing of the
genetic composition. Darwin s theory did not only create a topic of controversy, but it was able to
create a way of understanding life through biological evolution.
The traditional Judeo Christian version of Creationism was strongly reinforced by James ... Show

It had a beginning, but it has no ending. Creation is always busy making new scenes, new things
and new Worlds (Weiner 3). In the bible it states that all living things were created at the hands of
God. No one has ever desired to challenge the Catholic Church of this belief. Until a man by the
name of Charles Darwin discovered the wonders on Daphne Major. After his survey of the island,
he concluded that there was something about the finches beaks that made them unique to each of
the islands. Making meticulous observations of the beaks he saw that each finch had a specific set
of beaks. This allowed them to adapt to a specific niche in their environment. What is more. the
tame little birds that Darwin had found hopping around beneath the bushes were unique too. They
were not relatives of blackbirds, walders, wrens, and finches, as Darwin had thought when he
bagged them (Weiner 28). Darwin speculated about how natural selectionis one of the main
concepts for biological evolution. Natural selection consisted of descent with modification, known
as a gradual process over time, heritable biological traits become either more or less common in a
population. When the next generation of that species gains that dominant trait in the population,
this is known as descent with modification. Observing descent with modification is still prominent
during that time period. According to the Variation Lab, natural selection was the driving
mechanism for biological evolution.

Life Is A Form Of Life

to person and vary from age to age. One may hold that life is included in open seven thingsпјЊ

the process in which an individual gradually grows up and gets mature. In small children s eyes,

  • 2. Beethoven Seventh Symphony Analysis Pratt Carrol stated that Music is the language of emotion, and emotions tend to be the same the world over, in spite of differences in social customs and language. In other words, music is a fabulous expression of the human being no matter the culture or norms because it manages to immediately transmit different feelings and emotions that other forms of art may not transmit. For my Introduction to music class I decided, to write about the Seventh Symphony in A major (Op. 92) by Ludwig van Beethoven. The reason why I choose this symphony is because it s an emotional piece of music, and it definitely catch my attention since the moment I heard it. I feel this symphony reach emotional situations that are above human explosions. Emotional areas that invade us through a contradictory fact between feelings. The Seventh Symphony in A major by Beethoven appears in 1813. The orchestra contains two flutes, two oboes, two clarinets in A, two bassoons, two horns in A (E and D in the inner movements), two trumpets in D, timpani, and strings. Beethoven insisted on directing it at its premiere, with tragicomic results. The critics recognized a new genius of Beethoven; even today there are experts who consider it as the best of their symphonies. Richard Wagner, another fervent Beethovenian, describe this symphony as all tumult, all yearning and storming of heart into the blissful insolence of joy, which snatches us away with bacchanalian might. For its relentless dance rhythm and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although Britain imposed unequal treaties to Japan, it helped Japan to modernize, because Britain played host to the Japanese delegation that studied the political system, industries, education, and the militaries of the western world. The military cooperation between the two countries was especially strong because the leaders of the Imperial Japanese Navy were keen on modelling the organization after the British Royal Navy. The power from these songs derives itself from its ability to create a relationship between the listener and the artist and allow for the message to transcend social barriers. A more recent instance of an artist using his music to connect important social issues with a wider audience, is rapper Frank Ocean. Ocean revealed to his fans and the world that he was a homosexual. The story was about an author James Joyce was having a hard time to publish his book Dubliners . However, at the end he decided to give it a try after numerous rejections before and the book was finally published in 1914. Adaptations of Joyce s works and stage biographies of the writer abound, making it hard for a writer to determine his effort and to create an appeal that will extend beyond tourist audiences or Joyce aficionados. The Queen of Spain Maria Christina came up with this plan during November of 1897 the rebels refused this proposition because they knew that Spain would stay in power and have a strong army. Spain did not give up the idea of being in power and kept fighting a useless war. Atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) have been escalating since the rise of the industrial revolution and are now at a far more prominent rate than previously experienced in the Earth s history primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels (Wood et al., 2008). The concentration of CO2 in the Earth s atmosphere now surpasses 380 parts per million (ppm), which is more than 80 ppm over the highest values of the past 740,000 years (Hoegh Guldberg et al., 2007). As a result, the oceans have absorbed approximately 25% to 30% of the CO2 in the atmosphere acting as carbon sinks and decreasing the rate of CO2 rise in the atmosphere, which has had a direct effect on the ocean s chemistry (Logan, 2010). This results in the most prominent phenomena known as ocean acidification, which worsens day to day as CO2 enters the oceans at a more noteworthy rate than ever before, diminishing the ocean s natural buffering capacity and lowering the pH (Wood et al., 2008). This is documented to have a significant threat to marine species. As CO2 enters the ocean and comes in contact with the water, it reacts and changes the chemical properties of the ocean itself (Wood et al., 2008). This process produces carbonic acid that breaks down into bicarbonate, carbonate, and hydrogen ions that increase the acidity. The ocean s pH commonly ranges between 7.8 and 8.2, yet, recent studies show that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 24. Essay on The Modern Relevance of Themes in James Joyce s... James Joyce is widely considered to be one of the best authors of the 20th century. One of James Joyce s most celebrated short stories is Eveline. This short story explores the theme of order and hazard and takes a critical look at life in Dublin, Ireland in the early 20th century. Furthermore, the themes that underlie Eveline were not only relevant for the time the story was wrote in, but are just as relevant today. The major theme explored in Eveline is the idea of order and hazard. In society, the idea of order has a lot more positive connotation than hazard. People often quote popular sayings such as life is not always greener on the other side of the pastor to indicate this belief. Contrary, the idea of taking... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A second group of readers however see Joyce s reaction to Eveline as uncompassionate. These readers do not blame Eveline for not choosing to take a chance, but rather see Eveline as a sympathetic character. These people look at the decision that Eveline is faced with as very fortuitous, and therefore hold the belief that Eveline cannot be blamed for her decision not to leave Dublin. Other critics of Joyce have seen his fierce criticism of Eveline as chauvinistic. This argument is based on the idea that Joyce, a male author, does not have the right to criticize a female character, in this case Eveline. Furthermore, there is evidence outside of his criticism of Eveline that some would say furthers the case of Joyce s chauvinism. For example Joyce was once quoted as saying, Men are governed by lines of intellect women: by curves of emotion (Think Exist). Many quotes said by Joyce such as this one could be viewed as chauvinistic. Whether or not Joyce s criticism of Eveline is chauvinistic is up for debate, but one could definitely make the case that it is. Another major theme of Eveline is Joyce s criticism of life in Dublin in the early 20th century. One criticism Joyce has of the people of Dublin was covered above ,which, is he believed that they settled for routine over taking opportunities to make a better life for themselves. Joyce is perhaps critical of this trend to not settle for the norm ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Plato s Views On Democracy In The Republic of Plato, Plato, in addition to sharing his views on justice, shares his views on democracy using a fictionalized Socrates to outline the most pressing issues. Plato s views on democracy are negative; he believes democracy to be bred from a response to inequality of wealth and to heighten all of humanities worst traits. Platobelieves democracyleads to unequipped leaders who hold offices and power without the necessary traits and preparation. The main issue Plato has with democracy, as outlined in The Republicof Plato, is democracy has a uniquely level playing field for all and that this leads to people working toward endeavors that do not suit their best abilities, which goes against Plato s own image of justice as Plato s image holds to the idea that justice is primarily found in the community more so than the individual and that it is realized on an individual and societal level when people help to advance society by working toward endeavors that best suit their natural abilities (55). This democratic equality, the author feels, leads to those who are unequipped and unprepared to rule leading the masses. For example, Plato utilizes the metaphor of the ship to show this issue of democracy, that many of the crew, though not equipped to lead, will try to steer to steer the ship and that the struggle will eventually lead the crew to wreck the ship (195 196). Plato also associates democracy with tyranny, noting that when freedom is taken to an extreme it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the world we live in today, it is quite obvious to see that inequality is a growing consequence of economic growth. In this essay I will discuss how inequality affects states and the individuals living in the state. There are increased demands for educated workers; dependence of technology; privatization of markets; and the rise of capitalism which have led people to have drastic socioeconomic differences in wealth and lifestyle. It is clear to see that, developing countries that have been open to trade have had the fastest growth, reducing global inequality (Birdsall, 84), but what about the countries that have not been able to adapt and join commercial links to the outside world? African countries have always remained the poorest economically, as they do not have the means to produce and export goods to countries around the world. These countries vastly differ from those such as Japan who sought out economic relations in other countries through technology licensing, and openness to foreign investment (Birdsall, 84). This widespread development is happening all across Asia, especially in China and India. Although these two countries have surpassed the development speed of developed first world countries over the past 15 years, it would take them almost a century of constant growth at rates higher than those in today s industrialized countries (Birdsall, 80) to even be at par with the current level of income in the United States. Another inequality of economic growth stems from the rapid increase in technology and the lack of qualified or educated employees to fill these positions. However, they noted that schools without the funds to hire properly trained physical education teachers will have to rely on current staff members to cover the new physical education classes (Borland, 2011). Unfortunately, this becomes a problem in most schools, because teachers feel like there is not enough time to focus on physical education because they are burden by producing test scores also. However, it is not a lost cause. Teachers can implement physical education in their classroom in simple methods of the lesson they are teaching. For example, in math, teachers can have students count their jumps, while they jump up and down, or do jump in jacks when spelling out words. Schools are evaluated on test scores for core curriculums like math, writing, and reading, not body and fitness. Understandably, those subjects are very important as well as physical education. Research has shown that there are ways to alleviate the budget constraints for physical education. There are four grants in particular to help. One is the Carol M. White Physical Education Program, the main program by the federal government for elementary schools. The grant is given to community organizations that distribute funds to assist schools with their physical education and after school programs. The conflicts that Harper Lee expresses, displays the hatred and social injustice Maycomb truly has in To Kill a Mockingbird. Maycomb s community is like the ocean, the surface is blue and clean, when one dives in deep into the ocean, and one can see it for what it really is. The town would have been shocked if Tom Robinson won. Therefore this conflict demonstrates the importance of the judgement and societal norms in Maycomb s community. This is important because this means that the law force is biased. Another way this is crucial is because if the law is willing to slack off in such an important case like this, what other things have slipped through their fingers? • 33. The True Hero Of The Iliad Talha Yousaf Theodore O Neill Human Being and Citizen I 27 October 2014 Hector The true hero of The Iliad Throughout human history, mankind has venerated heroes because they possess the ideals that people strive to achieve themselves. The appearance and importance of heroes in The Iliad form a major part of what makes it such a celebrated tale. The concept of heroism, however, for the ancient Greeks and modern society is quite different. The Greeks viewed heroes as humans usually descended from the gods and in possession of superhuman strength and an aptitude for battle . Achilles clearly fits the above definition and therefore it comes as no surprise that he has historically been viewed as the main hero of the epic. However, the modern day definition of heroism, more than just strength and prowess in battle, encompasses the idea of a moral responsibility: defending one s people from harm and sacrificing one s own desires or life for the sake of others. Hector proves to be a great warrior, referred to as man killing Hector by the Achaeans, and therefore can be seen as a hero by the Greek perspective. However that is not the defining characteristic of the Trojan Prince. His character revolves around a sense of moral responsibility towards his people, his culture and his family, and using his power to defend them, sacrificing his own life in the process. The goal of this paper is to prove that Hector, not Achilles, is the true hero of The Iliad. Early on in the tale we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hamlet Gender Roles Rebecca Nottke Dr. Lawson HUM 1010 42 Nov. 15th, 2017 Gender: Women, the Lesser Sex Throughout the Ages When one thinks of art and religion, one may think of gender role defiance and non conformism. While this may be generally true in present times, it was not always this way. Women and men have had distinctly different places in society, these places often being unequal. Generally most well known works throughout the ages have adhered to and represented what society regarded as the proper gender roles for men and women. This is represented in three works of art which will be discussed: Hamlet by William Shakespeare, The Courtier: Book 3 by Baldassare Castiglione, and Luncheon on the Grass by Eduoard Manet. While these three forms of art come from different times and are of different mediums, they are connected in that they follow and represent the gender roles of their time. Hamlet is regarded by many as Shakespeare s most well known work. A tragedy focused on revenge, this work awed the Elizabethan audience with its shocking themes and content. The play follows Hamlet, a prince who is fixated on avenging his father, who was murdered by Hamlet s uncle Claudius. Throughout the entirety of the play, Hamlet behaves erratically and irrationally, focused entirely on revenge. • 43. Pathos For The Humane Society The advertisement I am doing is for The Humane Society Of The United States. The Humane Society is encouraging people to support and fund their organization to protect abused animals. This organization is important because they help animals who are cruelly abused and neglected. I am writing about this because it is important to treat animals with love and kindness. It does not matter if they are on four legs and can not speak, they still deserve to be treated as if they were children. This advertisement s primary appeal is pathos which is used to make a person emotional. When you see the animal shivering and filthy behind the bars it makes people emotional, the music is also dedicated to make a person feel emotional. These commercials make ... • 44. How Temperature Affects The Chemical Luminol I. Science Fair Question How does the temperature affect the eerie blue glow created by the chemical luminol? II. Background Research Have you ever wondered what police investigators spray on the crime scene to see if there is any blood present? This paper is going to discuss how temperature affects the chemical luminol. The following terms will be explained; Luminol, chemiluminescence, photon, and catalysts. Luminol is a chemical that has the special property of emitting light when it reacts with certain other chemicals (Crime Scene Chemistry The Cool Blue Light of Luminol). One of the traits of luminol chemiluminescence is the blue glow. The glow in a light stick are because of luminol chemiluminescence. The iron from the hemoglobin in ... In this science project the luminol mixture will be mixed with water which will cause you to already see the blue light to also make this light copper sulfate will be added to the mix. Copper sulfate dissolves and reacts with luminol (Crime Scene Chemistry The Cool Blue Light of Luminol). The blue glow should last for about 30 seconds. History Of Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever History of Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever Since the last epidemic of ebola hemorrhagic fever or ebola people have been trying harder than ever to find a cure for it. The origin of ebola is undefined as of this current moment, in other words no one knows how ebola came about. The first outbreak of ebola that was recorded was in 1976 in Sudan and Zaire. It infected 284 people with a mortality rate of 53%. It came about along the Ebola River hence the name Ebola. The second one happened a few months later it had the highest mortality rate which was 88% which is the highest of any ebola virus. It started in Yambuku Zaire, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Both her parents and her brothers had died because of ebola. The story was recorded by Ed Sheeran. He said that what the little girl has gone through isn t like anything we could ever imagine. There are many other stories but if I told them we would be here all day. It would take up more than ten pages to tell all the tragic and some happy stories. How can we prevent Ebola from happening Honestly there is no way that we know of to prevent ebola from coming back. But if you know of someone that has ebola STAY AWAY FROM THEM AT ALL COSTS. It only takes one to create an epidemic. Try not to come in contact with monkeys either as much as they are fun to play with.......don t mess with them. Masks In Ancient Greek Mythology Elektra, who plotted a revenge with her brother Orestes against their mother Clytemnestra and stepfather Aegisthus for the murder of their father Agamemnon, is a very significant and complex character in ancient Greek mythology. In the opera Elektra by Richard Strauss and Hugo von Hofmannsthal, there are some distinct stylistic features from Classical Greek theater. They are masks, customs and chorus. In ancient Greek theater, masks are significant element in ceremony and celebration. Greeks believed that the way in which the mask was to melt into the face and allow the actor to vanish into the role. In the opera Elektra we watched, all the character were maked up with exaggerated colors and style, which looked like masks on actors ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Art Analysis Of Norman Rockwell s Breaking Home Ties The painting Breaking Home Ties was painted by Norman Rockwell in 1954. I chose this piece of artwork specifically because it is the type of artwork that I can relate to as artwork. Norman Rockwell is an artist that I grew up knowing his name through the type of artwork he created. Rockwell s paintings were influenced a lot by his own familyupbringing. The still art that he created is known for not being modern art but rather people of the idealized America, something that many people felt was misleading, an era of depression and change, but also artwork that was the easiest to view because it was practical. The setting appears to be at a rundown railway station. Usually country stations like this do not see many stops from people coming and going. The railing that is barely visible at the bottom of the picture reassures that is indeed a train station. The aged truck that the boy and his father are perched on while waiting, was nothing fancy and served its purpose for transportation. More than likely this truck has been in the family awhile and is considered an heirloom being handed down. The weathered flooring that lay to the tracks could withstand some replacement, but that would probably not be logical with the little business that runs through this part of the countryside. Rockwell s painting shows a man with his son, possibly leaving for college, which is something that is not a common thing for country folk. If time is taken to analyze the painting, although it appears practical, many ideas can come from the simplicity of it. The father and son appear to be of a blue collar, middle class family. The importance of this, is the timing of the painting. Rockwell painted this picture directly after America had been through an era of depression. A time when family and togetherness was amidst the important things in life. Rockwell liked to paint the real picture of humanity through his own eyes, and many times relating to his viewers in that same way. Regardless of the reason, that we may never all agree on, the image he created for our imaginations focused a father and son parting ways. A father, quite possibly dressed in his best, will see the boy off and give reassurance that there is a better life to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Darwin s Theory Of Biological Evolution Evolution refers to the processes that have transformed life on Earth from its earliest forms to the vast diversity that characterizes it today (Campbell, 1993). However, a lot of things can change over a period of time. The Father of Evolution who is known as Charles Darwin, developed the theory of biological evolution. This theory has long been debated during and after darwin s time. Biological evolution can be seen through a momentous change in organisms by changing of the genetic composition. Darwin s theory did not only create a topic of controversy, but it was able to create a way of understanding life through biological evolution. The traditional Judeo Christian version of Creationism was strongly reinforced by James ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It had a beginning, but it has no ending. Creation is always busy making new scenes, new things and new Worlds (Weiner 3). In the bible it states that all living things were created at the hands of God. No one has ever desired to challenge the Catholic Church of this belief. Until a man by the name of Charles Darwin discovered the wonders on Daphne Major. After his survey of the island, he concluded that there was something about the finches beaks that made them unique to each of the islands. Making meticulous observations of the beaks he saw that each finch had a specific set of beaks. This allowed them to adapt to a specific niche in their environment. What is more. the tame little birds that Darwin had found hopping around beneath the bushes were unique too. They were not relatives of blackbirds, walders, wrens, and finches, as Darwin had thought when he bagged them (Weiner 28). Darwin speculated about how natural selectionis one of the main concepts for biological evolution. Natural selection consisted of descent with modification, known as a gradual process over time, heritable biological traits become either more or less common in a population. When the next generation of that species gains that dominant trait in the population, this is known as descent with modification. Observing descent with modification is still prominent during that time period. According to the Variation Lab, natural selection was the driving mechanism for biological evolution. ...
