This use case describes the steps associated
with getting a Barangay Clearance.

reaction to Applicant
3. Workstation
Reacts to the PIC’s inputs, facilitates the
generation of Barangay Clearance and printing.

Flow of Events
PRECONDITIONS:
1. PIC present is a valid Signatoree
2. Applicant has ID and sufficient change to pay for processing fee, etc.
3. Applicant is recognized as a resident of the particular Barangay, or at least a third-
party could vouch for him/her
4. Applicant is of legal age
MAIN SUCCESS SCENARIO:
1. Applicant prompts PIC of his/her intent to secure a Barangay Clearance
2. PIC verifies identity of the Applicant through an ID (School ID, Driver’s License, etc.)
or searching the database, along with other basic information like reason for
securing the Barangay Clearance
3. PIC gives Applicant a small Form
4. Applicant fills Form in print, then submits to PIC along with Cedula
2. 5. PIC requests payment for the Barangay Clearance’s processing
6. Applicant pays the PIC the required amount
7. PIC encodes the information to the Workstation, scans the 2x2 ID Picture, and PIC
also fills up Official Receipt
8. Workstation prints out Barangay Clearance
9. PIC gives the Barangay Clearance and Official Receipt to Applicant
10. Use case ends successfully
ALTERNATIVE SEQUENCE:
A4. Form is not complete or entries are invalid
1. PIC informs Applicant about the incomplete Form
2. Use-case proceeds to Step 4
A6. Applicant pays more than required amount
1. PIC computes the change
2. PIC gives change to Applicant
3. Use-case proceeds to Step 7
A7. Applicant has no ready 2x2 ID Picture
1. PIC informs Applicant that he/she will use the applicant’s ID instead
2. PIC puts ID into Workstation’s Scanner
3. Workstation scans the ID
4. PIC encodes the remaining information to the Workstation
5. PIC fills up Official Receipt
6. Use-case proceeds to Step 8
3. ERROR SEQUENCE:
A2. Applicant is recognized as someone with a pending case, an outstanding criminal
record or similar
1. PIC informs Applicant about the situation
2. Applicant is subjected to appropriate Use-case administered by the PIC (eg.
Arrest Criminal, Review Case, etc.)
A4. Cedula is lapsed out or no valid Cedula presented
1. PIC informs Applicant about missing requirement
2. Applicant is also requested to secure the other requirement then escorted out
POST-CONDITIONS:
1. Workstation updates list of resident who had previously secured Barangay Clearance
2. Barangay Clearance is secured by Applicant
