Academic History
Previously I studied computer science, P.E, business and product design. I am now
doing a creative media course all of these subjects are very bawd meaning I chose a
very varied uni courses. I also have hobbies outside of school such as art that I am
thinking of maybe taking further. In computer science we did a lot of coding and
looked at the basic hardware of the computers. In product design are final project was
to create a new innovative product that could help a certain target market. I chose to
make scissors that were specially for people that had problems with their hands that
wouldn't’t be able to use normal scissors. We also did several other small projects
throughout that course. In p.e it was all just practically we did a bit about coaching
and how to run a pe lesson completely independently. Business was pretty straight
forward just understanding and looking at how they work. All these subjects but
business I really enjoyed doing this is why I would consider doing any of them further.
Current Study
At the moment I am currently doing a 2 year creative media level 3 course. In this I
have learnt a lot about both sides of media from the designers perspective and the
consumers prospective I've learnt loads of new skills over the past year and still have a
lot to learn. The courses I have been looking at are all creative subjects other than the
PE course which is just because that’s something I enjoy. Over the past year and
throughout next year I have had a wide range of projects some being simple
photography projects all the way through to making vlogs and music videos this has
got me use to the basic software's and how to use them correctly and effectively this
would be carried on if I choose another media or creative subject such as graphic
design or video production which would be quite likely as that’s all I've been doing for
that past 2 years. However I may also choose an art course as that is something I enjoy
and I can use all my creative skills learnt over these 2 year within those courses.
The Future
In the future I would like to do something more creative with my life. This is why the
majority of the courses I looked at were arty and creative. This will help me get a set
idea on what I would like to do in the future and what sort of career I will go into. I
don’t however really see myself going to uni as I don’t really like the idea and cost of
it. So I more than likely wont and go into full time work after I finish college. I will also
try get into those more creative careers even if I don’t go to uni as that is something I
want to pursuit even though I don’t have a clear view at this current stage.
Outside College
Outside of college I have a lot of hobbies and do a lot stuff I enjoy. I do skating,
slacklining and other stuff like drawing. However non being very helpful to get into
university. I am also currently unemployed which also wont help the chances of me
going to university let alone being let in. I have previously done volunteer work which
could be a good thing for university although it was only for 6 months so not that long.
All in all the only thing I do outside of college that may help is art as it is very creative
but the rest wont really help my chances of getting into uni.
Conclusion
In conclusion the reasons why I would go to university are very few and I don’t really
want to go. However for the purposes of this and the few reasons why I should go I
would like to get onto an art or digital art course as these seem most interesting and
the sorts of stuff I would like to do in future. To achieve this there's not a lot more I
could do as I already practice art a lot and really enjoy doing it. I would be a good
candidate for sed courses as I just stated I like art and am very passionate towards it
and can see a possible future in art.
Introduction
I have no intentions to go to uni as its just something I don’t want to do and I have
always thought that way this PowerPoint has opened my eyes to the wide range of
courses there are. However the ones if I wanted to go to uni would be something
creative and arty such as digital art, or something more practical and sporty as these
are 2 thing I enjoy and would actually get something out of my time at university.
