Disobedience In 1984
Societies subject to totalitarian reign experience a complete degradation of both civil and natural born
rights. Entire populations are forced to follow a strict regimen, often against their free will and good
judgement. In 1984, George Orwell warns of such corrupted power of a totalitarian regime. Big
Brother instills a looming fear that agitates the people of Oceania, which, in the hearts of some, ignites
a cry of rebellion. Those trying to peacefully challenge the system, much like Winston and Julia, are
met with a cruel fate of reassimilation. Under totalitarian rule of Big Brother, such actions of civil
disobedience are not effective because of the government s disinterest of citizen acceptance,
unrelenting power, and a complete control ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eliminating the knowledge of past protests and resources pertaining to them from the history books,
allows the population to remain ignorant on the subject. This control over the media is censorship at
its worst. In a very similar instance, the Russian population is also currently experiencing this
restriction of knowledge. All Russian media is now controlled by the government just like in Soviet
times... In March, the Kremlin put Chinese government like restrictions on the Internet, and cracked
down on the few remaining independent news outlets and bloggers left in Russia (McIntosh 300). As
the state unites under one media source, the people are forced to accept the Putin s government
sanctioned propaganda outlet. This systematic withdrawal of all news sources denies the Russian
people exposure to anything else. The same could be said for the censorship of the internet in North
Korea. The contents of the web site consist mostly of political propaganda such as the superiority of
the North Korean regime, the North Korean leader s greatness, North Korean people s happiness, and
attacks on the US and the South Korean (Cheng et al. 659). Riddled with deceit, nothing but a positive
view on the North Korean regime is permitted to be posted. This limitation of speech is a hazard to not
only the views of the people, but any hope for progression. With the fear of

Cannibalism In The Medusa By Theodore Gericault And...
Artist s within the Romantic period reacted to the brutalities of inhumane occurrences in the world.
Romanticism was an art movement that occurred in the 19th century in which undoubtedly allowed
artists to react personally and emotionally to a specific subject matter. Contrasting to the refined
period of Neoclassicism, Romantics broke it s conformist, logic of the movement. The use of centring
the human figure as the dominant feature embodied the tortuous and ghastly occurrences of war,
depicting terror within their works. Theodore Gericault and Francisco Goya both made sense of their
world by expressing what they critically believed needed to be shown, the horrific act of inhumanity.
The determined, passionate artist Gericault depicted the horrific act of abandonment of man at sea, the
Medusa which occurred in 1819. Departing from the Senegal, one hundred and forty seven french men
and women were left knowingly abandoned on a makeshift after the wreckage on the coast of Africa.
Lacking lifeboats, individuals built a raft in order to survive whilst their conceited captain boarded a
lifeboat to safety. Upon the Medusa, individuals experienced episodes of immeasurable starvation,
extreme insanity and the beastly act of cannibalism for approximately thirteen days.
Undoubtedly, the chaotic circumstance of soldiers and settlers were significantly portrayed by the
artist. Neither poetry or painting can ever do justice to the horror and anguish of the men on the raft.

Cognitive Dysfunctions
Memory takes the information that we receive, through vision, hearing, and touch, and places that
information into a usable form and stores that information for later use. Drug addicts, however, have
cognitive dysfunction as the areas of the brain that deal with addiction also destroy those same parts of
the brain that deal with cognitive functions which include memory.Although many studies have been
done in regards to the use of drugs and the damage they do both physically and mentally, there has not
been much research systematically about the direct effects that opiates can have on the brain and the
cognitive functions. This paper will look at the various research that has been done and take a look at
the destructive effects that drugs, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not understanding these adverse effects of opiates is what got us all to the point we are at today. The
studies that have been performed over the last two decades have brought many harsh realities to light
about the wonder painkiller drug. It is time to offer new research in alternative pain medication reeds
and come to better pain management techniques and drug choices. It is clear from the research that
opiates cannot be used as directed for a sustained amount of time, nor can they closely monitored by
individuals as these drugs modify the brain s pleasure centers into craving drug that is supposed to
help. I am not for the complete abolishment of these drugs, however, responsibility for its abuse is
going to have to fall on those individuals who prescribe it, and the responsibility for treatment if and
when abuse occurs, should also fall on those same

Wedman spoke of the help the community did for his family. Laverna in Kansas could not raise a child
and work the farm. His neighbors, his parents and his sisters all pitched in and worked extra hard to
keep the family farm running. With the war across seas and the absence of some of the town s men
Arkansas City faced much hardship. It was a heavy load for them to carry but they knew they had to
and they knew eventually everything would be okay.
Wedman did not stay in the Mt. Della area for long. He was shipped to the Po River Valley in Italy.
Wedman s time in the Po Valley was not spent in combat like that of Mt Della, but was spent building
a bridge that crossed the river so troops and tanks could continue moving through Italy. Wedman
described the area as much less intense and he was still able to keep in contact with his wife. He said

Analysis On Feeder Reconfiguration Problem
Feeder Reconfiguration is basically an optimization problem which has several objectives and
operating constraints. A. Merlin and H. Black were the first to implement optimization techniques to
solve a Feeder Reconfiguration problem. Optimization is a mathematical tool to obtain an optimized
solution. There are numerous techniques to solve an optimization problem where in each technique
will yield a different network topology and different optimized solution. Heuristic and meta Heuristic
methods were used in the early 90 s to solve feeder reconfiguration problem. These methods uses
many assumptions to yield an optimal solution. However, the solution obtained by heuristic method is

So we are considering many constraints for following the radial configuration of the network. For
choosing the switch also we are following some rules. We need to close the switches of the mesh

The tie switches and the sectionalizing switches have a constraints on number of times they can be

optimization problem which considers all the possible constraints and hence this constraint should also
be taken into account. Maintaining radial nature of the network: [16] As the topology of the network is
being changed from time to time, reconfiguration should be done in such a way

Philip K. Dick s Influence On His Writings
Philip K. Dick an American author, most renowned for his works in science fiction, played a crucial
role in the development of the science fiction media industry today. His inspiration while writing
novels was unconventional, and ranged from visitations of a pink beam named 2 3 74, to a special
insight of a force outside of our universe which he referred to as Zebra. Philip K. Dick had many
influences on his writings such as drug use, Paranoid Personality Disorder, and Schizophrenia. Dick s
life left a massive impact on his writings and, throughout his novels, readers are able to observe
recurring apocalyptic like settings and the common theme of a totalitarian government, which,
together, create insightful social commentaries.
Philip K. Dick had several mental illnesses which had heavily influenced his writing. He often
reported recurring hallucinations of a pink beam along with other shapes and geometric patterns, as
well as claiming that he was living as a persecuted Christian in Rome named Thomas during the first
century AD (Aaronson). In addition to his mental illnesses, he had a history of drug use as well as a

Thesis Statement For Hurricane Katrina
Hurricane Katrina By Willow Harris
Thesis Statement: Hurricanes happen every so often and cause many people to lose their home or
loved ones. Hurricanes have the ability to affect the spheres of the Earth. One of the most memorable
hurricanes is hurricane Katrina. Hurricane Katrina happened in 2005 and hit the Gulf Coast and New
Orleans. It damaged forests and gave tons of people anxieties about global warming. Our goal today is
to find how hurricane katrina affected each sphere.
Recommendations: If a hurricane happens near you, you should stay indoors and away from any doors
or windows. Listen the TV or radio for instructions and to be told when the storm has passed. Close all
interior doors. Try to stay on the bottom floor in a small room or a closet. Go under a table or some
other sturdy object.

The Effects of Wyoming s Aging Population
With new medical technology and improved knowledge about health and wellness, American s life
expectancy is longer than ever, with a better expected quality of life as well. Wyoming is the fastest
aging state in the country according to the Billing s Gazette. In addition to an already aging state,
Wyoming has been named by national publications as a top place of retirement due to its tax structure
and climate. In an article from the Wyoming Tribune Eagle, it is predicted that by the year 2020
Wyoming will have the highest percentage of residents over the age of 65. With the rapidly rising

Medicare is a government program and unlike private insurance companies, it must pay the costs of
any beneficial medical care. From an example in USA Today, they point out that the type of
defibrillator put in Vice President Dick Cheney is expected to become standard care for cardiac
patients. The instillation of the defibrillator, which regulates the heart s electrical rhythms, currently
cost about $30,000. This is expected to cost Medicare $14 billion by 2015, if only half of those
suffering from heart failure received this treatment. This is a major national concern, but due to
Wyoming s rapidly aging population, Medicare will also become a major cost to the state.
Economically, Wyoming is not very diverse. The state s economy is unable to absorb a range of young
or old workers. Natural resources and mining have been the fastest growing jobs in the state, with an
increase of 15.5% according to the Casper Star Tribune. These jobs require hard physical labor and are
unable to provide significant work to an aging population. According to AARP economist Clare
Hushbeck, people are choosing to work past the customary retirement age of 65. This is due in part to
increased knowledge based jobs instead of hard labor. If Wyoming is able to follow this national shift
toward knowledge based work, the aging residents and influx of retirees could possibly benefit the
state s economy.
Wyoming lacks a younger population

The Defeat of Many by One Essay
The Defeat of Many by One
In The Moor s Last Sigh, Salman Rushdie uses the complex and changing character of the Moor to
represent a complex and changing image of India. By making the eclectic family history of the Da
Gama Zogoiby family the central theme in the first two parts of the novel, Rushdie portrays India as a
culturally and religiously pluralistic society. This pluralistic society is layered by violence caused by
the corruption of multiplicity by various characters and the threat of Hindu fundamentalism. As
pluralism is defeated by fascism in Part Three of the novel, the nature of the violence changes
drastically and is symbolized by the Moor s significant character change: The Moor whose tragedy the

The Zogoiby s diverse history entails attempts to embrace many of these ideals. The eclectic cultural
backgrounds of the Zogoiby family are representative of pluralism in India. The Da Gamas are
Portuguese Catholics while the Zogoibys are Moorish Jews. All of the Moor s ancestors blatantly
reject religion and embrace secularism: an arguably important component of pluralism. When
Camoens went to see Gandhi speak, he told his wife Belle, I hear nothing. I had seen India s beauty in
that crowd with its soda water and cucumber but with that God stuff I got scared (Rushdie 55).
Another example of pluralism within the Zogoiby family is Aurora s artwork, especially her childhood
paintings in which she strives to represent the variety and multiplicity in the vision of the world and
the vision of India. As Aurora ages, however, her childhood visions of pluralism are significantly
changed.
Although Aurora s later paintings also embrace pluralism, they reveal possible catastrophe: A place
where worlds collide, flow in and out of one another, and washofy away. Place where an air man can
drowno in water, or else grow gills; where a water creature can get drunk, but also chokeofy on air.

Sproles and Kendall(1986) view this construct as basic consumer personality , analogous to the
concept of personality in psychology (p.268).Research on this construct can be categorized into three
main approaches: the consumer typology approach (Darden and Ashton, 1974; Moschis 1976); the
psychographics/lifestyle approach (lastovicka, 1982;Wells, 1975); and the consumer characteristics
approach(Sproles, 1985;Sproles and Kendall, 1986; Sproles and Sporles, 1990). The unifying theme
among these three approaches is the tenet that all consumers engage in shopping with certain
fundamental decision making modes or styles including rational shopping, consciousness regarding
brand, price and quality among others. Parenthetically, the focus on this topic seems to be an
American preoccupation since no studies could be located from researchers in other countries.
Objective of the project: As the world becomes commercially more integrated the customers around

complex. The abundance of choices in the retail environment makes the completion between the

information on various goods make the buying decision even more complex. The purpose of this

Claude Monet And The Art Movement

on November 14, 1840 and was born in Paris, France. At age 5, Monet moved to Le Havre, a port
town in the Normandy region. He grew up there with his older brother, Leon. Monet was was decent
student, but he did not like being in a confined classroom. He was more interested in being outside. At
a young age, he developed a love for drawing. Monet filled his school books with sketches of people,
including his teachers. In 1859, he decided to move to Paris to fulfill his artwork and enrolled as a

He would make his brush strokes thicker or thinner depending on what he was creating. He was most
famous for being a huge part of the Impressionist Movement. The warm colors that Monet used in his
paintings bring a happiness and warm feel to them. It is most felt in his most famous painting, Bridge
Over a Pond of Waterlilies. This is mainly because he used greens, yellows, and some reds and on the
color wheel, these fall under the warm category. This painting brings a happiness feel because when
one looks at it, memories of being a child come about. Maybe they played on the bridge, ran up and
down holding onto the side rail, and doing cartwheels the whole way. This painting also shows what
season it is outside and what the weather is like. Many people interpret things differently, even with
this painting. But it is clear that art and nature is a part of Monet. He once said, Water Lilies is an
extension of my life. Without water, the lilies cannot live, as I am without art (2014). This means that
art is a ginormous part of Monet s life, and without it he would not be who he is. For some of his
paintings, Monet would use a technique starting with charcoal before applying paint layers. He used
narrow continuous brush strokes. On other paintings, he would use pastel tones applied with dry and

in any direction and where the weight balanced on all opposite sides. It exists at a point along the
midline of the body at about 55% of the athlete s height (Reference.) During a volleyball serve, it is
easy to see where good balance would be essential, if your stance is off then that will lead to the toss
being wrong and the athlete won t have correct contact with the ball. To increase balance and stability
one can do this by standing with their legs apart lowering themselves in a half squat position at the
knees. By lowering the centre of gravity it will ensure and increase stability level. When an athlete s
centre of gravity is over their base of support adequate stability is achieved. In volleyball during a dig
a player will stand with a split stance and lunge to the ball which allows them to perform an effective
dig. If an athlete was to reach their arms out and not move their feet under their

Women s Precarity Analysis
Consequences of Women s Precarity
The systemic, cyclical nature of precarity for women in the labour market as described above creates
significant negative consequences for individuals, families, and society. Though the consequences are
numerous, a handful are presented here for illustrative purposes of how endemic this issue is.
Low wages/income are an earmark of non standard/secondary market work. Women (along with youth
and people with lower levels of education) are most likely to be working for minimum wage
(primarily in service sector jobs) (Galarneau Fecteau, 2016). Lack of a living wage for secondary
labour market jobs factors into the precarity model and economically disadvantages women/families.
The economic inequality of women s precarity contributes to an even greater issue, their social
inequality. The labour market and neoliberalism, in conjunction with economic austerity and an
extreme decrease in social welfare initiatives (all factors in precarity), contribute to the social
exclusion of women in Canada. Social exclusion the division between the haves and the have nots is
spawned from the barriers ( socioeconomic disparities ) that prevent individuals or groups full
participation in the social workings of society, and women experience it relative to their level of ...

Loss of consumer confidence, cost of high turnover, lack of spending in the market, and the inevitable
deprivation of government revenue all harm the ability of the free market to sustain itself on a model

overcome in the future, and perpetuates the gender inequality that already

This is because companies need to understand what their costs are, like construction companies, to be
able to bid on jobs. These types of companies understand what it takes to complete most aspects of the
jobs they are bidding on. When they provide a prospective customer with a job cost sheet it breaks
down material costs, labor costs, and overhead costs to show their customer where the costs are going
to be incurred. These types of companies know how many hours it will take to assemble parts,
construct parts of a house, repair pipes, and many other types of work of this nature. These companies
spend time analyzing their costs per job to compute a standard for each category of their jobs and
identify cost drivers to come to a standard cost.
(b) A standard imposed by a governmental agency is known as a regulation. Do you agree? Explain.
Yes a standard imposed by a governmental agency is a regulation. When governmental agencies
impose standards that are required for a specific attribute of any job it is called a regulation. This can
be anything from local government limiting the number of deer being able to be hunted by one person,
the Environmental Protection Agency stating that a company can only produce X amount of pollution
per year, to the federal government stating that each individual must have the same consideration/

Alternative Medicine In The United States
Breaking Through Walking away from a situation that does not serve someone any good anymore can
be one of the toughest moment that a person can go through. When someone has entrusted their whole

Therapeutic Effects Of Yoga On Depression
Therapeutic Effects of Yoga on Depression in Men and Women Patricia A. Miller Ashley N. Saylor
Toni A. Morris Jessie E. Yahner University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown Abstract Much academic
research has been conducted to understand psychological causes of and treatment effects on clinically
diagnosed depression symptoms. More recently equal interest has included the neurochemical and
physiological origins of depression and the implications of treating these imbalances using alternative,

Therapeutic Effects of Yoga on Depression in Men and Women This paper will explore what
depression is, how depression effects males and females, and offer insight into how yoga can be a
form of treatment for depression. According to the 2013 research of Holger Cramer, Romy Lauche,
Jost Langhorst, and Gustav Dobos, depression has formerly been described as reflecting a primary
disorder of biomedical and neurophysiological functions with evidence that alterations certain
neurotransmitters including noradrenaline, serotonin, dopamine, and GABA play a major role in the
pathophysiology of depression (Cramer, et., 2013). Additional research regarding yoga practice and
increased levels of dopamine, GABA and serotonin is widely available. The balancing of these
neurotransmitters is widely suggested as essential to depression treatment by many researchers and
clinical therapeutic practitioners today. According to the National Institute of Mental Health,
depression is a serious but common illness that interferes with daily life and causes pain for you and
the your loved ones (National Institute of Mental Health, 2015). Depression affects males and females;
however, females are more likely to be diagnosed with depression at any given year. Mental health
problems such as depression, anxiety and insomnia are amongst the most common reasons for
individuals to seek out treatment

So in different types of situation we will get different types of return depending on which type of
investment it is and what the economic situation is at the time (www.xpresstrade.com).
Portfolio Management:
By selecting securities that have little relationship with each other, an investor is able to reduce
relevant risk. Ideally, one would combine their securities in a way that will reduce relevant risk, such
as diversification, to optimally manage their portfolio. The decision to invest excess cash in
marketable securities involves not only the amount to invest but also the type of securities to invest.
To some extent, the two decisions are interdependent. Both should be based on an evaluation of
expected net cash flows and the uncertainty associated with these cash flows. In future cash flow
patterns are known with reasonable certainty and the yield curve is upward sloping in the sense of
long term securities yielding more than shorter term ones, a company may wish to arrange its portfolio
so that securities will mature approximately when the funds will be needed. Such a cash flow pattern
gives the firm a great deal of flexibility in maximizing the average return on the entire portfolio, for it
is unlikely that significant amounts of securities will have to be sold unexpectedly.
Controlling the risk
The simple and timeless definition of risk is the chance of suffering a loss. Portfolio management is
largely about managing risk. All

Practically the ESP found in the old line in addition to some filter bags has less performance on

Analysis On Desert Valley s Budget Adjustment
INTERNAL MEMO TO: Marcus Chelford, Ted Amero, and Fernando Lapan FROM: Li Chan, CPA
DATE: December 2, 2014 SUBJECT: Activity 2A Budget Adjustment The purpose of this memo is to
describe the impact of the change in commodity prices on Desert Valley s budget and suggest ways to
mitigate this threat. We conducted some sensitivity analysis on Desert Valley s budget to determine the
expected impact of a 2% increase in the price of malt barley and wheat grain. This is especially
important given the fact that customers are not willing to increase prices to compensate for the rising
cost of these commodities. This puts pressure on Desert Valley to absorb these price shocks and still
meet its other financial objectives. As one would expect, a 2% increase on direct materials will lead to
an increase in variable costs and in turn, a decrease in profits and contribution margin. The budget
impact of this change equates to ($73,322) which represents a (1.06%) hit to profits and a (0.86%)
change in contribution margin. This shows that at this point, small percentage changes in commodity
prices have a relatively minor impact on the company s financial position. However, if commodity
prices continue to fluctuate further or if production volumes increase then this may become a more
prevalent issue. To mitigate the risk of future commodity price changes it is recommended that Desert
Valley adopt a hedging program by purchasing forward contracts. This would allow the company to

Controlling Males in Browning s Porphyria s Lover and My Last Duchess
The death of the female beloved is the only way deemed possible by the insecure, possessive male to
seize her undivided attention. This beloved woman represents the reflector and guarantor of male
identity. Hence, the male anxiety about the woman s independence for her liberty puts his masculine
self estimation at risk (Maxwell 29). The jealous and controlling males in Robert Browning s
Porphyria s Lover and My Last Duchess possess a fervent desire to fix and monopolize their
unconstrained female beloveds. Due to a fear of death, both speakers attempt to achieve control and
deny object loss; by turning their lovers (once subjects) into objects, ... Show more content on

Browning s romantic setting Porphyria has come to [the lover] out of a world from which he is
foreclosed implies that her darling one wish was something comparable to: I want to be with you
forever. The speaker misreads her comment in order to escape being a loved object to be abandoned
again. He states that Porphyria s feminine position is one far too weak to break the vainer ties in a
world of which he cannot be a part of. Torn between passionate possession of her and inevitable
abandonment, he has murdered her in order to turn her into a fetishistic object which can never leave
(Ingersoll 154). The lover confirms that he is in control. He is the observer; she, the silenced object.
Even God has not said a word! (60), rendered silent in the face of the narrating of this masterful
subject (Ingersoll 154). Through the power of his monologue, this lover successfully defies God and
remakes Porphyria into his own object of desire.
Like Porphyria s lover, the murderer in My Last Duchess also demands control in his relationship with
the Duchess. The Duke begins his speech by exposing the exquisite portrait of his former wife to an
initially unidentified guest. To him, this object is his wife. The language he uses in relation to the
portrait seems deliberately confused:

Psychology And Cognitive Science, Confirmation Bias ( Or...
In psychology and cognitive science, confirmation bias (or confirmatory bias) is a tendency to search
for or interpret information in a way that confirms one s preconceptions, leading to statistical errors. It
is a type of cognitive bias and represents an error of inductive inference toward confirmation of the
hypothesis under study.
Confirmation bias is a phenomenon wherein decision makers have been shown to actively seek out
and assign more weight to evidence that confirms their hypothesis, and ignore or underweigh evidence
that could disconfirm their hypothesis.
As such, it can be thought of as a form of selection bias in collecting evidence.
An individual might even seek out proof that further backs up this belief, while discounting examples
that do not support this idea.
Unlike other similar concepts such overconfidence bias or anchoring, confirmation biases impact how
people gather information, but they also influence how people interpret and recall information. For
example, people who support or oppose a particular issue will not only seek information that supports
their beliefs, they will also interpret news stories in a way that upholds their existing ideas and
remember things in a way that also reinforces these attitudes.
Therefore, this concept is important because without seeking for objective facts, interpreting
information in a way that only supports one s existing beliefs, and only remembering details that
uphold these beliefs, people often miss important

Once you have decided on storage and activities it is time to map out your space. You can begin by
sketching your space out on a piece of paper. There are several details to take into account when
determining where each zone should be located. Natural habits and preferences will be an indicator or
where a certain zone will be. If you tend to throw your mail on the counter as you walk in the door
that may be an ideal place for a basket to store mail and paperwork. The relationships of the activities
need to be considered. A TV zone and a reading zone should be put at opposites ends of a room so that
people can utilize the space simultaneously. The configurations and restrictions of the room also need
to be taken into account. When you are setting aside time in your schedule, it is important to estimate
how much time the organization process will take. Most rooms will take one to one and one half days
to complete. Blocking out the time on your calendar will be required so you can create an effective
work schedule. In conclusion, after researching my problem I realize that I need to develop a plan of

Developmental Stages And Theories From Birth From Adolescence
Developmental Stages and Theories from Birth to Adolescence
Neurological Development
According to the Urban Child Institute, the first three years of development are a crucial time for brain
development. The human nervous system starts to develop at around day eighteen after conception
(Carlson, 2014, p. 55). The brain stem is vital to instinctive functions, such as reflexes, breathing, and
heart rate (Urban Child Institute , 2016). These are functions in the body that just happen without
thinking about doing anything. The cerebrum is a large portion of the brain, which connects the
cerebellum to the brain stem (Urban Child Institute , 2016). This part of the brain is where complex
processes like memory and learning take place. The exterior of the cerebrum is the cerebral cortex,
this part is not fully developed until adulthood and this is where sophisticated activities, such as
planning and decision making are taking place (Urban Child Institute , 2016).
The brain is also broken into four smaller pieces called lobes, they are the occipital lobe, parietal lobe,
temporal lobe, and frontal lobe. The occipital lobe is in the back of the brain and is in charge of vision.
The parietal lobe is related to bodily sensations such as your body temperature, pressure and pain
(Urban Child Institute , 2016). The temporal lobe is intricate to hearing, language skills, social
understanding, and observations of people s eyes and faces (Urban Child Institute , 2016). The frontal

Lais Of Equitan And Bisclavret By Marie De France
THE RESEARCH TOPIC
The topic of my research is how courtly love applied the Lais of Equitan and Bisclavret written by
Marie De France.
THE RESEARCH CONTEXT
Research Questions:
1. What are the effects of courtly love on the situation of women in the middle ages?
2. Can it be between a knight and an unmarried lady?
3. How courtly love seen by society?
4. Is courtly love sinful?
5. What are the reasons behind courtly love?
Hebert Moller states that first, the female love object is, as a rule, the wife of another man; and yet this
relationship is celebrated as the source of a higher morality, notwithstanding the prevailing religious
and social sanctions of monogamy. Modern authors have unanimously realized that the consummation
of courtly love would mean adultery. The contemporaries did not present it in that light, but rather
claimed an inherent right of the lover to his lady s attention. If marriages, for economic and political
reasons, were arranged by relatives or feudal overlords, it is a mere construction of some older
historians that, for that reason, the contemporaries permitted extra marital free love and developed a
gigantic system of bigamy in which every lady was expected to have both a husband and a paramour.

Three days a week Bisclavret mysteriously disappears. His wife asks the truth behind his frequent
absence. Then, he confess that he lives as a werewolf in forest and only thing helps him to return a
human again is his clothes where he hides it in an old chapel. The wife frightens and make a plan to
steal his clothes for not to return a human again. Also she offers a knight, who has loved her for a long
time, her love and her body. After a year werewolf attacks his wife and bites off her nose then
manages to reveal the truth. Finally she and her second husband are exiled from the land by the

American Social Class Differences
Social Class Differences According to Brenda Allen in her book Difference Matters, social class is
associated with the allocation of power and resources. It is a stratification system that is one of the
biggest predictors of academic achievement. It is widely held in the US that the more financial,
cultural, and social capital (Bourdieu) you have, the more likely you will get a better quality education
that will lead to a higher paying job. In the film, Idris and Seun come from different class
backgrounds. Even though they are both considered as members of the middle class, Idris seems to
have more capital because both of his parents are successful professionals who are Ivy League
graduates. Seun s parents do not have the prestigious Ivy League background that Idris s parents do,
but they are graduates of Bingham University. His mother Stacey is a nurse care manager and his
father Tony is a systems engineer. Idris s parents are seen as being stricter on Idris to perform well in
school. Even though both families ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gender Gap, Francine Blau and Larence Kahn state that the US fosters a strong commitment to gender
equality however the gender pay gap is larger than in most other countries. The systematic and
institutional inequality that the system requires points to recurring problems of existing gender
inequity. In the film, the boys do not experience the disadvantage of being female in a society that has
a dominant ideology of patriarchy. However, it is true for African American boys to be held back in
elementary school, [are] three times as likely to be suspended from school, and half as likely to
graduate from college a phenomenon known as the black male achievement gap. It is like that Black
males, even when given the same economic and academic resources as their peers of other races, it is
likely that they are to fall short of their counterparts in virtually every measure of academic success

Should Shakespeare Be Taught In Schools
Shakespeare died 400 years ago. He is the only required author in the 9th grade Common Core. Why
is that? Shakespeare is a world known English, actor, playwright, and writer. He wrote 38 plays,
poems, and sonnets. He is being taught in freshman English classes in high schools, and making these
freshmen miserable. Shakespeare should not be included in the 9th grade curriculum because it is hard
to understand, not relevant, and meant for the theatre and not a classroom. To begin with, Shakespeare
is very hard for most 9th graders to read. Shakespeare uses language that is not modern and students
most likely did not learn. As said by Powell, the director of Salisbury Playhouse, Shakespeare had
made them feel stupid rather than empowered. (Powell). Most 9th graders do not get the language and

As Shelina Janmohamed said, The aspiration to love and be loved is present in all times and places
(Janmohamed380). There are plenty of modern authors who covers the same themes. Force feeding
children can only induce nausea and a lifelong aversion (Robshaw402) If teachers wait, students will
approach the Bard more willingly and openly. Then they will be able to appreciate him rather than
hating him. Shakespeare is difficult to read, being taught in a way that does not give him justice, and
is outdated. For these reasons Shakespeare should not be taught in the 9th grade. Do Shakespeare and
students a favor; throw him out.

Respiratory Syncytical Virus Infection
Qiana Nikki Little was born on February 8, 1992 to Evelyn and Quentine Little.Only being on this
planet for a week something happened, She was laying down sleep and I knew something was wrong.
She was having problems waking up, said Evelyn. With a very high fever Evelyn and Quentine rushed
her to the hospital. This is where she spent ten days in the hospital; three in ICU and and seven in a
oxygen tank. That s when the family found out that Nikki had a serious infection called RSV.
Respiratory Syncytical Virus, also known as RSV, is a common infection in children under the age of
one. Each year, 75,000 to 125,000 children in this age group are hospitalized in the US due to the
infection. Many children are infected with this by their second birthday, only a small percentage
develops a server case of it, it can also affect adults as well. It is known to appear between the months
of November to April. The infection can pass from person to person exactly like the common cold.
There are two different types and many strains of RSV. The symptoms are very similar to the
symptoms of a cold such as:
A cough
Stuffy or runny nose
Mild sore throat
fever
The first infection is usually the worst when it comes to a child. Some babies and have a risk of many
complications including death from the infection because of the immune system because of their

Procedure Assessment Exercises
The procedure assessment exercises that were consolidated into this usage procedure were a verbal
test, pre/post test, noting unknown inquiries, and re going over the test toward the end. While a
percentage of the objectives were accomplished and others were not because of the reality we just held
this class once and won t have the option to return and follow up.
For one of our first targets, we needed the understudies at Magnolia Science Academy to have the
capacity to distinguish towards the end of the session three, distinct contraceptives, which then
transformed it to one in view of time requirements. To test this objective, to check whether they were
absorbing the information. We put it as the inquiry in the post test segment of the session. The inquiry

point when posed the question what is a disadvantage of the utilization of a condom, the age groups

disadvantage. Out of gender, 5/10 females said stated that was one of the major weakness of condoms
along with male being 4/9. Which then drove us into a discussion on how to put on a condom
efficiently and how to know whether it s on accurately. One of the namelessly questions was how
would they know whether his condom is on a properly? You can see these illustrations in the appendix

Columbus Ohio Case Study
Topic: The administrators of the Columbus, Ohio, Public School System temporarily suspended
several students without a formal trial or hearing. The findings of the trial court declared the actions of
the administrators violated the Fourteenth Amendment s rights to due process.
Issues: (1) Was it unconstitutional for the administrators to suspend the students from school for their

failing to provide each student a hearing or parent notification?
Facts: Ten students attending Central High School in the Columbus, Ohio, Public School System were

No. It was not unconstitutional for the administrators to suspend the students from school for their
disruptive behaviors. Section 3313.66 of the Ohio Law Code empowers the principal of an Ohio

administrators violated the students Fourteenth Amendment rights by failing to provide each student a

Lying In The Truman Show
The Truman Show was an odd show because the idea of the plot could potentially be in effect at this
very moment. Just like how The Matrix could also be in effect, but this show seemed very creepy to
me because of the plain lie to Truman. One thing that hits a button within me is the whole concept of
lying. I don t know if I was lied to once when I was young and how it made me feel never changed, or
if it is the idea that the truth for whatever reason can t reveal itself is such a bullshit idea. I think that
even if the truth is so bad the person still deserves to know even if not knowing would be in their best
interest. If we shelter an individual of how bad life can really be then when the time comes for them to
actually experience life first hand then it would be worse and potentially too late for them to learn.
Also, if the person or people who are lying think it would be in the best interest of the person they re
lying to, I think it is that person s right to determine what the best interest of their own life and how
they handle the situation is just as important as the bad situation is. ... Show more content on

Compare And Contrast Rosemary s Baby And The Omen
Heit argues that both films deliberately work against the concept of free will as they perpetuated the
prevalent conceit of the sixties that control over one s fate no longer existed, that choice was an
illusion; and that, at any time, for reasons beyond one s comprehension, the devil could destroy one s
life . The protagonist in Rosemary s Baby is left to deal with the knowledge of being raped by the
devil, who has chosen her to be the mother of his child. Meanwhile in The Omen, Damien does not
get to choose or participate in the act of free will as his fate had already been chosen prior to his birth,
having been made the Antichrist by the devil. He is to protect the legacy he has been handed with, no
matter who or what may come his way. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their portrayal of evil is comparative, and the idea of the other being influenced by the thought that
fault is regularly pushed elsewhere is outstandingly common in both films. On the other hand, their
executions are diverse as far as style. As specified in this essay, Polanski concentrates more on a
persuading story that stays within certain components to create a practical setting around surrealism.
The circumstance in Rosemary s Baby is ironic on the grounds that babies are one of the main things
in this world that we consider totally guiltless, and it s difficult to choose whether Rosemary s infant is
pure or not, yet, it has done nothing to strip itself of its honesty. Donner heavily focuses his attention
to detail regarding The Omen and its aesthetics; how the camerawork is setup to exemplify the mood
of death, presented in such ways that it symbolises the power of the devil. Yet, when looking at the
insidiousness that is of the two devilish youngsters, the observers are acquainted with Donner s
depiction of Damien is much more horrific in the sense that the child actually kills people while under
the control of Satan, whereas Polanski leaves the spectator assuming that Rosemary may have found
happiness in the end through the tribulations of

Wonderland Insane
In Lewis Carroll s story Alice s Adventures in Wonderland, the character Alice stumbles upon a world
called Wonderland upon her curiosity. As she makes her trip around Wonderland, she goes on a
journey to find herself because she is not sure who she is after entering the world, and she is not sure
how she fits in this new world or her old one. While she is figuring out her own place in Wonderland s
society, she meets a series of characters who interact and attempt to change her perspective on life. By
using Alice and these characters, Carroll offers readers his own critique on the way society functions
and how it is structured. Although all of Carroll s characters are considered insane, they all have

Alice and the the other creatures within the world of Wonderland mimic the ideas of society and their
many flaws. Carroll uses many scenes within his story to provide roles for each and every character,
so they could personify characters in the real world. In many instances Alice attempts to understand
these individuals living within the world they call Wonderland. But like any other, Alice finds the
differences between them to be too great and rejects them just like how people in the real world reject
the ideas of others based on how they were raised. Alice even though she is a fresh young mind, she
still already has nurtured ideals within her and it prevents her from learning from these character s
flaws. If Alice could understand that these flaws were a projection of the issues in today s world, she
could understand how Carroll s characters are a perfect representation of today s

The Cheat Essay
Hayakawa s career was jumpstarted by his leading role in The Cheat, the film catapulted him
to overnight stardom despite his negative portrayal of an Asian lead. This later set a precedent
for much of Hayakawa s career where he would be branded as the mysterious, exotic and
dangerous foreign lover prior to Valentino. Having reached a level of stardom, Hayakawa used
his connections to form his own production company, Haworth productions. This gave the young
actor total control over the material he wrote, produced, directed and starred in. The Dragon
Painter is just one example of the films that he produced, however, it is also arguably the most
influential in regards to the public s opinion of Asians. The film stands true today as a
positive representation of the Japanese community.
For the second Festival visit, I ended up catching the 1940 remake of the The Thief of
Bagdad. The special effects, set design, and art direction for this film blew me away. I was
surprised by how advanced some scenes were, specifically those involving the spider,
Genie and the flying carpet. It is amazing to think of movie magic before CGI existed when
camera angles and classic puppetry were enough to do the trick. Watching this film, I was able to
see how this production had a major influence on Disney s Aladdin. More specifically, in the
cartoon design of the Sultan and Jaffar, the human likeness is uncanny. The thieving monkey

Case Study #3: Distribution Agreement
Shed some light
Raynonplus is a small, family owned eyewear business located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Started by
Pierre Dupuis in 1952 under the name of Visionplus, the company has been exclusively owned and
operated by the Dupuis family for over 50 years. Currently, the business a sole proprietorship is
owned and managed by Gerald Dupuis, grandson of the original entrepreneur. The Dupuis changed the
business name in 1957 to capitalize on a trend in polarized sunglasses that swept the neighbouring
French speaking province of Quebec.
Traditionally, Raynonplus sold a wide range of generic and brand name eyewear including

What are some of the benefits that would have compelled Raynonplus to choose a distributorship
agreement over an international sales agent agreement?
.. Sales agents tend to be used for more highly specialized goods that require implementation,
installation or aftermarket services.
.. A distributorship agreement, or the terms governing the business relationship between the principal
and the foreign distributor, often ensure an extensive portion of the financial costs are absorbed by the
distributor, whereas there is no such risk to a sales agent. For example, distributors often purchase the
merchandise outright and are compensated through price mark ups and predetermined credit and
payment policies as opposed to sales agents who do not purchase the merchandise and work on
commission based compensation.
2. List another possible form of international business endeavor Raynonplus could have considered as
a market strategy in France. Given the details of this particular business case, why would this option
not have been right for Gerald?
.. Additional possibilities for international business include:
.. FDI
.. Joint venture
.. Partnership
.. For the most part these options require a sharing of both financial and operational responsibilities.
For example, in many countries, national FDI legislation requires 51 percent national ownership.
These are therefore not viable options for Gerald who wishes to

  • 3. Disobedience In 1984 Societies subject to totalitarian reign experience a complete degradation of both civil and natural born rights. Entire populations are forced to follow a strict regimen, often against their free will and good judgement. In 1984, George Orwell warns of such corrupted power of a totalitarian regime. Big Brother instills a looming fear that agitates the people of Oceania, which, in the hearts of some, ignites a cry of rebellion. Those trying to peacefully challenge the system, much like Winston and Julia, are met with a cruel fate of reassimilation. This control over the media is censorship at its worst. In a very similar instance, the Russian population is also currently experiencing this restriction of knowledge. All Russian media is now controlled by the government just like in Soviet times... In March, the Kremlin put Chinese government like restrictions on the Internet, and cracked down on the few remaining independent news outlets and bloggers left in Russia (McIntosh 300). As the state unites under one media source, the people are forced to accept the Putin s government sanctioned propaganda outlet. This systematic withdrawal of all news sources denies the Russian people exposure to anything else. The same could be said for the censorship of the internet in North Korea. The contents of the web site consist mostly of political propaganda such as the superiority of the North Korean regime, the North Korean leader s greatness, North Korean people s happiness, and attacks on the US and the South Korean (Cheng et al. 659). • 4. Cannibalism In The Medusa By Theodore Gericault And... Artist s within the Romantic period reacted to the brutalities of inhumane occurrences in the world. Romanticism was an art movement that occurred in the 19th century in which undoubtedly allowed artists to react personally and emotionally to a specific subject matter. Contrasting to the refined period of Neoclassicism, Romantics broke it s conformist, logic of the movement. The use of centring the human figure as the dominant feature embodied the tortuous and ghastly occurrences of war, depicting terror within their works. Theodore Gericault and Francisco Goya both made sense of their world by expressing what they critically believed needed to be shown, the horrific act of inhumanity. The determined, passionate artist Gericault depicted the horrific act of abandonment of man at sea, the Medusa which occurred in 1819. Departing from the Senegal, one hundred and forty seven french men and women were left knowingly abandoned on a makeshift after the wreckage on the coast of Africa. Lacking lifeboats, individuals built a raft in order to survive whilst their conceited captain boarded a lifeboat to safety. Upon the Medusa, individuals experienced episodes of immeasurable starvation, extreme insanity and the beastly act of cannibalism for approximately thirteen days. Undoubtedly, the chaotic circumstance of soldiers and settlers were significantly portrayed by the artist. Neither poetry or painting can ever do justice to the horror and anguish of the men on the raft. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The instillation of the defibrillator, which regulates the heart s electrical rhythms, currently cost about $30,000. This is expected to cost Medicare $14 billion by 2015, if only half of those suffering from heart failure received this treatment. This is a major national concern, but due to Wyoming s rapidly aging population, Medicare will also become a major cost to the state. Economically, Wyoming is not very diverse. The state s economy is unable to absorb a range of young or old workers. Natural resources and mining have been the fastest growing jobs in the state, with an increase of 15.5% according to the Casper Star Tribune. These jobs require hard physical labor and are unable to provide significant work to an aging population. According to AARP economist Clare Hushbeck, people are choosing to work past the customary retirement age of 65. This is due in part to increased knowledge based jobs instead of hard labor. If Wyoming is able to follow this national shift toward knowledge based work, the aging residents and influx of retirees could possibly benefit the state s economy. As Aurora ages, however, her childhood visions of pluralism are significantly changed. Although Aurora s later paintings also embrace pluralism, they reveal possible catastrophe: A place where worlds collide, flow in and out of one another, and washofy away. At age 5, Monet moved to Le Havre, a port town in the Normandy region. He grew up there with his older brother, Leon. Monet was was decent student, but he did not like being in a confined classroom. He was more interested in being outside. At a young age, he developed a love for drawing. Monet filled his school books with sketches of people, including his teachers. He would make his brush strokes thicker or thinner depending on what he was creating. He was most famous for being a huge part of the Impressionist Movement. The warm colors that Monet used in his paintings bring a happiness and warm feel to them. It is most felt in his most famous painting, Bridge Over a Pond of Waterlilies. This is mainly because he used greens, yellows, and some reds and on the color wheel, these fall under the warm category. This painting brings a happiness feel because when one looks at it, memories of being a child come about. Maybe they played on the bridge, ran up and down holding onto the side rail, and doing cartwheels the whole way. This painting also shows what season it is outside and what the weather is like. Many people interpret things differently, even with this painting. But it is clear that art and nature is a part of Monet. He once said, Water Lilies is an extension of my life. Without water, the lilies cannot live, as I am without art (2014). This means that art is a ginormous part of Monet s life, and without it he would not be who he is. Balance is your body s ability to stabilize itself during movements that require a shift of your centre of gravity. An athlete s centre of gravity is the exact middle of the body around which it can rotate freely in any direction and where the weight balanced on all opposite sides. It exists at a point along the midline of the body at about 55% of the athlete s height (Reference.) During a volleyball serve, it is easy to see where good balance would be essential, if your stance is off then that will lead to the toss being wrong and the athlete won t have correct contact with the ball. To increase balance and stability one can do this by standing with their legs apart lowering themselves in a half squat position at the knees. By lowering the centre of gravity it will ensure and increase stability level. When an athlete s centre of gravity is over their base of support adequate stability is achieved. In volleyball during a dig a player will stand with a split stance and lunge to the ball which allows them to perform an effective dig. • 21. Women s Precarity Analysis Consequences of Women s Precarity The systemic, cyclical nature of precarity for women in the labour market as described above creates significant negative consequences for individuals, families, and society. Though the consequences are numerous, a handful are presented here for illustrative purposes of how endemic this issue is. Low wages/income are an earmark of non standard/secondary market work. Women (along with youth and people with lower levels of education) are most likely to be working for minimum wage (primarily in service sector jobs) (Galarneau Fecteau, 2016). Lack of a living wage for secondary labour market jobs factors into the precarity model and economically disadvantages women/families. The economic inequality of women s precarity contributes to an even greater issue, their social inequality. The labour market and neoliberalism, in conjunction with economic austerity and an extreme decrease in social welfare initiatives (all factors in precarity), contribute to the social exclusion of women in Canada. Social exclusion the division between the haves and the have nots is spawned from the barriers ( socioeconomic disparities ) that prevent individuals or groups full participation in the social workings of society, and women experience it relative to their level of ... • 30. Analysis On Desert Valley s Budget Adjustment INTERNAL MEMO TO: Marcus Chelford, Ted Amero, and Fernando Lapan FROM: Li Chan, CPA DATE: December 2, 2014 SUBJECT: Activity 2A Budget Adjustment The purpose of this memo is to describe the impact of the change in commodity prices on Desert Valley s budget and suggest ways to mitigate this threat. We conducted some sensitivity analysis on Desert Valley s budget to determine the expected impact of a 2% increase in the price of malt barley and wheat grain. This is especially important given the fact that customers are not willing to increase prices to compensate for the rising cost of these commodities. This puts pressure on Desert Valley to absorb these price shocks and still meet its other financial objectives. As one would expect, a 2% increase on direct materials will lead to an increase in variable costs and in turn, a decrease in profits and contribution margin. The budget impact of this change equates to ($73,322) which represents a (1.06%) hit to profits and a (0.86%) change in contribution margin. This shows that at this point, small percentage changes in commodity prices have a relatively minor impact on the company s financial position. However, if commodity prices continue to fluctuate further or if production volumes increase then this may become a more prevalent issue. To mitigate the risk of future commodity price changes it is recommended that Desert Valley adopt a hedging program by purchasing forward contracts. This would allow the company to ... • 32. Psychology And Cognitive Science, Confirmation Bias ( Or... In psychology and cognitive science, confirmation bias (or confirmatory bias) is a tendency to search for or interpret information in a way that confirms one s preconceptions, leading to statistical errors. It is a type of cognitive bias and represents an error of inductive inference toward confirmation of the hypothesis under study. Confirmation bias is a phenomenon wherein decision makers have been shown to actively seek out and assign more weight to evidence that confirms their hypothesis, and ignore or underweigh evidence that could disconfirm their hypothesis. As such, it can be thought of as a form of selection bias in collecting evidence. An individual might even seek out proof that further backs up this belief, while discounting examples that do not support this idea. Unlike other similar concepts such overconfidence bias or anchoring, confirmation biases impact how people gather information, but they also influence how people interpret and recall information. For example, people who support or oppose a particular issue will not only seek information that supports their beliefs, they will also interpret news stories in a way that upholds their existing ideas and remember things in a way that also reinforces these attitudes. Therefore, this concept is important because without seeking for objective facts, interpreting information in a way that only supports one s existing beliefs, and only remembering details that uphold these beliefs, people often miss important ... Developmental Stages And Theories From Birth From Adolescence Developmental Stages and Theories from Birth to Adolescence Neurological Development According to the Urban Child Institute, the first three years of development are a crucial time for brain development. The human nervous system starts to develop at around day eighteen after conception (Carlson, 2014, p. 55). The brain stem is vital to instinctive functions, such as reflexes, breathing, and heart rate (Urban Child Institute , 2016). These are functions in the body that just happen without thinking about doing anything. The cerebrum is a large portion of the brain, which connects the cerebellum to the brain stem (Urban Child Institute , 2016). This part of the brain is where complex processes like memory and learning take place. The exterior of the cerebrum is the cerebral cortex, this part is not fully developed until adulthood and this is where sophisticated activities, such as planning and decision making are taking place (Urban Child Institute , 2016). The occipital lobe is in the back of the brain and is in charge of vision. THE RESEARCH CONTEXT Research Questions: 1. What are the effects of courtly love on the situation of women in the middle ages? 2. Can it be between a knight and an unmarried lady? 3. How courtly love seen by society? 4. Is courtly love sinful? 5. What are the reasons behind courtly love? Hebert Moller states that first, the female love object is, as a rule, the wife of another man; and yet this relationship is celebrated as the source of a higher morality, notwithstanding the prevailing religious and social sanctions of monogamy. Modern authors have unanimously realized that the consummation of courtly love would mean adultery. The contemporaries did not present it in that light, but rather claimed an inherent right of the lover to his lady s attention. If marriages, for economic and political reasons, were arranged by relatives or feudal overlords, it is a mere construction of some older historians that, for that reason, the contemporaries permitted extra marital free love and developed a gigantic system of bigamy in which every lady was expected to have both a husband and a paramour. It is a stratification system that is one of the biggest predictors of academic achievement. It is widely held in the US that the more financial, cultural, and social capital (Bourdieu) you have, the more likely you will get a better quality education that will lead to a higher paying job. In the film, Idris and Seun come from different class backgrounds. Even though they are both considered as members of the middle class, Idris seems to have more capital because both of his parents are successful professionals who are Ivy League graduates. Seun s parents do not have the prestigious Ivy League background that Idris s parents do, but they are graduates of Bingham University. I don t know if I was lied to once when I was young and how it made me feel never changed, or if it is the idea that the truth for whatever reason can t reveal itself is such a bullshit idea. I think that even if the truth is so bad the person still deserves to know even if not knowing would be in their best interest. If we shelter an individual of how bad life can really be then when the time comes for them to actually experience life first hand then it would be worse and potentially too late for them to learn. Compare And Contrast Rosemary s Baby And The Omen Heit argues that both films deliberately work against the concept of free will as they perpetuated the prevalent conceit of the sixties that control over one s fate no longer existed, that choice was an illusion; and that, at any time, for reasons beyond one s comprehension, the devil could destroy one s life . The protagonist in Rosemary s Baby is left to deal with the knowledge of being raped by the devil, who has chosen her to be the mother of his child. Meanwhile in The Omen, Damien does not get to choose or participate in the act of free will as his fate had already been chosen prior to his birth, having been made the Antichrist by the devil. Their portrayal of evil is comparative, and the idea of the other being influenced by the thought that fault is regularly pushed elsewhere is outstandingly common in both films. On the other hand, their executions are diverse as far as style. The circumstance in Rosemary s Baby is ironic on the grounds that babies are one of the main things in this world that we consider totally guiltless, and it s difficult to choose whether Rosemary s infant is pure or not, yet, it has done nothing to strip itself of its honesty. Donner heavily focuses his attention to detail regarding The Omen and its aesthetics; how the camerawork is setup to exemplify the mood of death, presented in such ways that it symbolises the power of the devil. Yet, when looking at the insidiousness that is of the two devilish youngsters, the observers are acquainted with Donner s depiction of Damien is much more horrific in the sense that the child actually kills people while under the control of Satan, whereas Polanski leaves the spectator assuming that Rosemary may have found happiness in the end through the tribulations of ...
