5. Business Segments Overview
The Construction Materials Characterisation Laboratory consists of accredited
Laboratory where the technical characteristics (physical-mechanical, durability and
chemical properties) of construction materials are assessed; to guarantee their reliability
and safety and compliance with national and international standards and regulations.
•
TTH establishes site laboratories as per client testing requirement fitted with the testing
equipments and technicians to carryout tests. The advantage of site laboratory is to
carryout tests rapidly, client saves the cost of manpower and avoids the building of
equipment inventory. Field lab setup of Soil Testing has been done for GMR at DFCC.
TTH undertakes fixed rate contracts for fulfilling third party testing requirements at very
reasonable pricing .We collect the samples from site and carryout tests in quickest
time frame. Monthly invoicing helps the client to maintain their cash flow.We also
extract core of concrete and bituminous material and test them at our laboratory.

MORTH Section 900 (QC) Highlights
24. Works shall conform to the lines, grades and cross sections shown in the
drawings
The edges of the carriageway shall be correct within a tolerance of ±10
mm, for lower layers of pavement it is ±25 mm
The levels of sub grade and other pavement layers shall not vary from
those calculated with reference to the LS & CS of the road shown on the
drawings
For sub grade permitted tolerance in surface levels is ±20 mm, for
flexible pavement sub base it is ±10 mm, for manually laid base course it
is ±15 (machine laid ±10 mm) and for bituminous base/binder
course/wearing course it is ± 6 mm
For BC surface the permissible value of roughness is 2000 mm/km.
