The document summarizes AMD's 2012 A-Series desktop platforms. Key points include:
- The 2012 AMD A-Series features "Piledriver" CPU cores and discrete-class AMD Radeon HD 7000 graphics on a single chip. It provides up to 4 CPU cores and improved performance over 2011's AMD A-Series.
- Benchmarks show the 2012 AMD A-Series provides significantly better performance than Intel processors in areas like compression, image processing, and gaming, due to its accelerated processing capabilities. Overclocking can further boost performance by up to 68%.
- For mainstream gaming, the document argues the integrated graphics of the 2012 AMD A-Series provide better performance and value than a competing Intel processor

"GPUDirect support for RDMA provides low-latency interconnectivity between NVIDIA GPUs and various networking, storage, and FPGA devices. Discussion will include how the CUDA 5 technology increases GPU autonomy and promotes multi-GPU topologies with high GPU-to-CPU ratios. In addition to improved bandwidth and latency, the resulting increase in GFLOPS/watt poses a significant impact to both HPC and embedded applications. We will dig into scalable PCIe switch hierarchies, as well as software infrastructure to manage device interopability and GPUDirect streaming. Highlighting emerging architectures composed of Tegra-style SoCs that further decouple GPUs from discrete CPUs to achieve greater computational density."

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:

Additional hardware (e.g. Blu-ray drive, HD or 10-bit monitor, TV tuner, wirelessly enabled HDTV) and/or software (e.g. multimedia applications) are
required for the full enablement of some features. HD Video display requires an HD video source. Not all features may be supported on all components
or systems - check with your component or system manufacturer for specific model capabilities and supported technologies.
1. AMD’s product warranty does not cover damages caused by overclocking, even when overclocking is enabled with AMD hardware or software
2. Based on a shipping frequency of 4GHz – the highest shipping frequency of a consumer desktop processor as of September 5th, 2012
3. AMD Eyefinity technology works with games that support non-standard aspect ratios, which is required for panning across multiple displays. To
enable more than two displays, additional panels with native DisplayPort™ connectors, and/or DisplayPort™ compliant active adapters to convert
your monitor’s native input to your cards DisplayPort™ or Mini-DisplayPort™ connector(s), are required. Support for six simultaneous displays may
require complementary products compatible with DisplayPort 1.2 Multi-Stream Transport. Maximum number of configured displays may vary - check
with your component or system manufacturer for specific model capabilities and supported technologies. SLS (“Single Large Surface”) functionality
requires an identical display resolution on all configured displays
4. AMD Radeon™ Dual Graphics requires an AMD “A” series APU plus an AMD Radeon™ discrete graphics configuration and is available on
Windows® 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows® 7 Home Premium, and/or Windows® 7 Home Basic OS. Linux OS supports manual
switching which requires restart of X-Server to engage and/or disengage the discrete graphics processor for dual graphics capabilities. With AMD
Radeon™ Dual Graphics, full enablement of all discrete graphics video and display features may not be supported on all systems and may depend
on the master device to which the display is connected. Check with your component or system manufacturer for specific mode capabilities and
supported technologies. For All-In-One systems AMD Radeon™ “D” series and AMD Radeon™ “D2” Dual Graphics series do not support AMD
Eyefinity technology. Always check with your system manufacturer for specific model capabilities and supported technologies.
