The Legacy Of The Jim Crow Laws
The years leading up to the 1960 s were ones full of worldly and civil unrest. Wars raged, blood
spilled, and many lives were lost. However, these wars weren t always fought across continents and
countries. Some were fought internally, without involving assault rifles or trenches. The war I m
speaking did involve two sides, but not Axis and Union. This war dealt with racial segregation and
hatred among races . This movement sprouted all the way from the roots of slavery and the oppression
of those enslaved. Nearly a hundred years after the end of slavery a clash between races was still very
prevalent in the United States. Segregation was in full effect and blacks everywhere were being treated
beyond unfairly. Blacks and even some others, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this movement would not come without its fair share of violence and hatred. Plenty of
resistance came from whites who believed their race was superior. The NAACP (National Association
for the Advancement of Colored People) did the best they could in order to fight against this racism,
starting their anti lynching campaign in the 1930 s. While other organizations attempted to start
campaigns like this as well, the NAACP proved to be the most influential organization during the civil
rights movement (Janken, n.d.). Perhaps the most detrimental organization towards this movement
was one known as the Ku Klux Klan, also known as the KKK. The KKK were, and still are huge
advocates of white supremacy and fought against more than just the blacks. They were/still are known
to be hateful towards Jews, Catholics, immigrants, and many more (History.com, 2009). The KKK
was responsible for countless crimes during this era. Blacks were lynched, houses were burned to the
ground, and countless black families were torn apart. The KKK spread across and occupied nearly
every southern states in the United States in the years before the Civil Rights Act of 1964. However,
despite all of this adversity, many blacks continued to protest and fight one way or another. This was
the beginning of the monumental protests led by two of the most important and influential figures of
the civil rights

The Prostitute By Krik Krakk Summary
This very interesting , intriguing story I selected from Krik Krak was the unusual story of the
prostitute . This is the story of a lady whose husband passed away at a very young adulthood part of
his life . He passed away because he was being greedy , sneaky, and dishonest . He stole a hot air
balloon from his workplace in the fields . No valid permission. No nothing . On the other hand , the
young lady , Lili , is now a true , valid widow. She has every right to look for a new suitor however
she wishes . In this chapter , she has sexual intercourse with a ma n . She also might tell her son he has
a new dad , which is not biologically true. Women are feared in this particular story because she is an
independent woman now , being as

Ap Euro Dbq Absolute Monarchies
The 16th and 17th centuries were a powerful time for European monarchies. Absolutism had taken
hold, allowing Kings to have powerful rules over their states. This was due to the absolute monarchies
that had taken hold and the belief in a divine right that kept them there. This allowed the countries
under the rule of powerful monarchs to thrive and prosper. Absolute monarchies and the belief in a
divine right to rule made absolutism a period of prosperity in 16th and 17th century Europe. Absolute
monarchies helped to make Europe prosperous during this period. This type of government gave the
king complete power over his state, leaving the people of the state with little to no influence in the
government. This helped to control and keep peace within the country. In The Prince, by Machiavelli,
it is stated that, ... fear is accompanied by the dread of punishment, which never relaxes (Document
A). A leader that provoked fear of punishment in his people was, in turn, a strong and powerful leader.
The fear of breaking the laws and rules of the state kept the people in line, and, therefore, kept the

Using The Function Provided, The Optimal Stocking Quantity...
Problem 1
a. Using the function provided, the optimal stocking quantity, which maximizes expected profit, is
approximately 584 newspapers. If 584 newspapers were to be ordered, Hamptonshire Express will net
an expected profit of $331.436 per day.
b. Using the Newsvendor Formula in Excel, or Q* = Norminv(Cu/(Cu+Co), Mean, Std Dev) and the
values:
Cu = 1 .2 = .8
Co = .2
Mean = 500
Std Dev = 100
Q* = 584.1621 or 584 newspapers. This verifies the quantity in part (a).
Problem 2
a. Based on the simulation, Anna can should invest 4 hours daily in the creation of the profile section.
It provides the highest profit of $371.33.
b. Marginal Cost = Marginal Benefit
10 = (.8*50)/(2*sqrt(h))
20sqrt(h) = 40
Sqrt(h) = 2
H = 4 hours, which verifies Sheen s choice of effort in part (a).
Her effort is at the point where the marginal cost of spending the extra time to develop the profile
section = marginal benefit of spending the extra time to develop the profile section; or the point where
profit is maximized. If she spends the extra time to develop the profile section past where marginal
cost = marginal benefit, she won t be able to create enough demand for her newspaper, but if she
spends less time than where marginal cost = marginal benefit, she won t have a quality newspaper and
misses out on additional sales, which leads to increased profits.
c. Comparison of the optimal profit with Problem 1 looks like this:
Stocking Quantity Daily Expected Profit
584 331.44

The Third Of May Meaning
The Third of May 1808 was painted by a Spanish painter Francisco Goya in 1814. In this painting,
Goya attempted to describe the battle between Spanish and Napoleon during the occupation of 1808 in
the Peninsular War. It is also meant to commemorate the braveness of the Spanish army who is trying
to fight against Napoleon who backtracked his promise and betrayed the Spain s King Charles IV.
The Third of May is claimed as one of the greatest painting of all time. According to the art historian
Kenneth Clark, this painting is The first great picture which can be called revolutionary in every sense
of the word, in style, in subject and in intention.

He added a psychological value inside by raising our sympathy through looking at the faces of the
unarmed people. They are covering their face in order to avoid looking at the death which is awaiting
for them. And we cannot see the face of the army, as thought they were not human and with no mercy.
This brings up an emotional contrast between the ruthless solders and the fearful people.
Secondly, this picture is asymmetrical balanced which creates a dynamic composition. Even thought
there is different body gesture, action and facial expression between two groups of people. We can see
that both of them are well organized in order to show a parallel pattern between left and right side of
the painting.
Thirdly, there is a horizontal line created in between the soldiers, they are all in the same posture with
their hat located on similar level, continuing with the posture of their legs.
Fourthly, repeating the existence of soldiers in the painting creates rhythm, and it leads to movement.
Movement is created by the tendency which soldiers are getting more and more transparent at the
back. You can actually imagine there is still countless amount of solders coming to join their crew and
posting the same ready to murder

Pass the Salt, Please! Essay
Salt acts as a biologically, necessary nutrient for human growth and development. If human beings did
not give a damn about salt s importance, our world would be filled with bland food, filthy water, and
deadly disease. History s first written records of salt appeared in China, around 4,700 years B.C.E.
Salt played a major role in ancient history, especially in Roman and Egyptian cultures. Citizens of
Rome and Egypt commonly used salt as trade goods, currency for soldiers, religious offerings, and
even used in the process of mummification. Modern day chemists found several important ways to use
salt. People use sodium today for softening water for drinking, flavoring foods, and for treatment of
various medical conditions. Humans and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sodium chloride plays a big role, not only in water, but in culinary use too. The culinary industry
commonly uses salt to season dishes, decorate plates, and to preserve raw meats. Salt remains
essential in food preparation, presentation, and preservation. Restaurants have strict policies regarding
salt use due to the fact that some people must maintain a low sodium diet. Some restaurants are even
required to put food items that contain sodium on their menu. Salt will always be a valuable resource
to the world.
Vacuum Evaporation: Evaporated salt is extracted from underground deposits lying anywhere from
500 to 2,800 feet beneath the surface. Fresh water is forced down a shaft, which dissolves the salt
inside the deposit. The saturated water, called brine, is pumped back up to the surface where the water
is removed through a heat process in a vacuum evaporator. This process yields evaporated salt, the
purest of all salts: almost 100% pure sodium chloride. (Cargill,
http://www.cargill.com/salt/about/howsaltismade/index.jsp) Vacuum evaporation continues to be the
safest and most efficient form of making salt. Recycling plays an important part in this process.
Purified water that evaporates from the heat process is pumped back out of the plant into a lake. This
water can be reused to start the process over once finished. Once the salt completes the final stage,
large bins are used to store it until workers

Volkswagen Of Americ Managing It Priorities
Team 11
Volkswagen of AmericaManaging IT Priorities
1. What is your assessment of the new process for managing priorities at Volkswagen of America? Are
the criticisms justified? Is it an improvement over the old process?
We believe that the new process for managing priorities was well structured and aligned with the
business goals but with few exceptions. Let s try to understand why?
VWoA laid out their five next round of growth goals (NRG) and built a business architecture with the
help of different organizational entities to manage priorities of different projects in order to implement
these goals. The ELT was given the primary responsibility along with ITSC, PMO, BPTO and DBC
playing important roles while selecting and prioritizing projects. The Digital Business Council was to
play the most challenging role here as it would work with different Business Unit managers in order to
select and prioritize projects, keeping in mind a way to categorize projects, assess their business
impact, aligning project with business goals and making tradeoff decisions. The process played out in
three phases initiated by PMO. Thus, this process is well structured and would help DBC to consider
different trade offs while selecting and prioritizing projects.
The only exception is that we would recommend to include members of VWG while drafting the goal
portfolios of the company so that certain projects that impacted on the global level could also be
funded. If they had included them, then

Early Childhood Classroom Observation
J.R. The Boy that Enjoyed to Learn My observation was at Lincoln Elementary School, located at 221
Cross Street, Harrison, New Jersey. I observed an atypical child in the Kindergarten Inclusion
Classroom, in which had a teacher aide Collen Sawyer, a general teacher, and a teacher aide assistant.
The classroom has seven students with special needs participating in a Least Restrictive Environment
with 14 students without disabilities. The classroom was ample with reading area, dramatic area,
science area, manipulative area, writing and art area, and the area with a border and projector for the
teacher interact with the whole group, it also had a bathroom inside the classroom, which the teachers
could keep eye on them. First, when I entered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To illustrate, during writing tasks I observed that while J.R. was trying to write a sentence, the
teachers were managing behaviors of others students that did not focus in doing the task. So, he was
left alone because he was quietly writing. In this situation, he could improve more if have no seven
atypical students at the same classroom. In addition, I observed that the teacher did not give more time
for him write the words because of the time and the number of students at the classroom. I realized
that the teacher did not put the student with special needs all together at the same table. This strategy
did work well because she had to keep moving all the time, leaving some atypical students alone in
their tasks, even with a help of the teacher aide assistant was difficulty to help all the atypical students.
Even I do not understand the inclusive classroom well, if I was the teacher aide, I would change where
the atypical students seat during some tasks. For example, writing tasks I would put them into a small
group for teacher direct instruction at the same table. Also, I would try to give more attention to J.R.
because his behavior and excitement in learning would improve more his learning development. I
observed the teacher aide was control the whole classroom and the general teacher was serving her as
assistant during the day. Maybe because of the strong character of the teacher aide or it s the way was
the right way to lead an inclusive classroom. But, if I was the teacher, I would focus more on the
atypical children and leaving the others students for the general teacher to deal with it. Last, I realized
that the speech therapist could not achieve well her time with J.R. because she had to serve a total of
four students with speech difficulties at the same time. To improve

that the teenage boys may one day live free lives and that their families have a sense of optimism for

so that his audience may take pity. He uses pathos as his main strategy to tug at the heartstrings of the

Codified Constitutions Are Not An Essential Element Of...
Introduction
It is generally considered that codified constitutions are an essential element of democracy in that by
clearly setting out the functions of each branch of government and their relations with each other and
their citizens, this prevents an over powerful executive developing and ensures rights of citizens are
protected. However, I believe that codified constitutions are not an essential element of democracy as
there are examples of robust democracies which have uncodified constitutions and at times codified
constitutions are more of a hindrance than a help to the democratic process.
Codified Constitutions are often not very democratic
A codified constitution is a constitution in which key constitutional provisions are ... Show more

In 2012, Republicans won a majority of seats in the House despite securing only 48 percent of the vote
and to win a majority of 218 House seats, the Democratic candidates would need to win ten million
more votes than Republicans in 2016. (Richie,The Nation,2014) This often leads to situations in which
the will of the democratic majority are ignored as seen after the Sandy Hook Massacre in 2012, where
Bird (Occupy Democrats,2015) argues 90% of Americans wanted greater background checks for guns.
However, the gun reform measures were defeated in the Senate leading an infuriated Obama(2013) to
argue how can something that has 90% support not happen?
Moreover, the codified US constitution does not even provide for a democratic electoral system to
elect the President. The electoral college system is not very proportional in the sense that the winner of
the electoral college doesn t necessarily have the majority of popular vote. This has happened a
number of times; the most recent being in 2000 with the election of Bush and Gore. Gore won 48.38%
of the popular vote and received 266 electoral college votes (Leip,2012), whereas Bush got 47.87% of
the vote and 271 electoral college votes. Leip,2012)

The Ethics Of Adopting Electronic Documentation For...
Nurses documentation in the patient record has different purposes from ensuring accountability and
justification for patients interventions provided to ensuring quality, continuity and security for patients
through a trajectory of illness (Gjevjon Hellesø, 2010). When this process is done using health
information systems (i.e. EMAR or EHR), it is called electronic documentation (eDoc.). According to
Abiri (2014), eDoc help with mitigating medical errors and improving patient safety which are indices
of quality patient care. Improvement in quality of care through the adaptation of eDoc can be
explained by few grand theories (particularly the Donabedian s framework of quality (Abiri, 2014).
Other theories to consider for nurses adaptation of eDoc is be Roy adaptation theory. In this paper, the
objective is to discuss how grand theory (i.e. Ray Adaptation theory), meta paradigm, middle age
theory, complexity science relates to nurses adaptation of electronic documentation for patient care.
This paper will also discuss the ethics of adopting electronic documentation. NURSING

Abolish The Penny Essay
Getting rid of the Penny is a good idea
Should we abolish the penny? , is a question that a lot of people have ask. I think that we should
abolish the penny, because it is costing the US more to make the penny than it is even worth. Every
year the U.S. Treasury produces 12 to 14 billion pennies at a cost of $90 million. If we abolished the
penny, instead of paying $39.99, we could round it up to $40.00, or round it down to the nearest
nickel, and make it $39.95.
The penny is not worth as much as it used to be. In the 1940 s, a penny would get you to pieces of
candy, but today you cannot buy anything with a single penny. These days, people don t even take
their time to bend down and pick up a penny that is laying on the side walk. In the story we read, the
dad offered his shoe box full of pennies to his eight year old son, to wrap up in rolls of 50, but his son
told him Thanks, dad, but it isn t worth it. If its not worth the time an 8 year olds to wrap pennies, and
put them in the bank, then why is US Government keep making them. ... Show more content on

People waste so much time, digging through their purse or wallet looking for a penny. If we abolished
the penny, then it would make waiting in line for someone to pay go so much faster, because they
wouldn t have to dig around, looking for that 2 more cents. We would also round the sales tax up to
the nearest nickel also. For instance, a 7% sales tax on a $31 purchase would be $2.17, we would
round that up to $2.20. The customer would be losing 3 cents, but that would meant that the state
would be making a little bit more money to spend on roads, and

Locke Qualities
Locke has determined two was of classify thing qualities of objects that enable ideas. Primary and
secondary qualities by which ideas are understood and observed through perception and sensation they
invoke in the observer. The mind is the ultimate decider of sensation the observe feels with certain
objects. Berkeley has a different opinion from Locke where he has good reason to believe Locke is
wrong. Hume agrees with some thing of both Locke and Berkeley on the topic of qualities.
Ideas and qualities are two different things according to Locke. Locke means by idea is the object of
thought; mental entities that exist in our mind. Locke defines qualities as power to produce ideas in
our mind. Locke argues that perception causes ideas and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This shows the secondary quality such as hot and cold are within the mid because it can cause one

shape can be affect the mind as well and provide sensations. Since an object can appear different to
different people so how could we distinguish between primary and secondary qualities? At different
position one can perceive different from someone else at another position.
Hume agrees with Locke that perception is the foundation of our ideas but disagrees with the
distinction of primary and secondary qualities. He agrees with Berkeley that there is no proofs that can
show how one is suppose to distinguish between primary and secondary qualities of perception. For
Hume knowledge is limited to simple impressions and simple ideas. He distinguishes between
impression and ideas: impressions are the lively, first hand perception, of something internal or
external. Ideas are less lively, occur when we reflect on previous impressions we have

Film Adaptation In Ray Bradbury s The Pedestrian
The Pedestrian The PBS article, on film adaptation, discusses the difference between written text and
film and the struggle of adapting a book into a movie. Statistically, 65 percent of all novels are
adapted into a film. Stories and novels rely on the narrator to tell the story whereas, films don t usually
have a narrator. Films tend to be way shorter then a novel or story because one frame can be worth six
pages of description. Films have a pro side and a con side, one con is that a film takes away your own
personal perception while with any written literature, one has their own perception of a certain

The film adaptation of the short story The Pedestrian have many similarities and differences. The film
adaptation and the short story had a bad connection. In the short story, the story had narration whereas
the film had a second character. Having a second character changed the theme because in the short
story he is isolated from society while having a second character in the film he has friendship. If
narration were to be used in the film, one could infer that Leonard Mead is lonely, odd, and isolated
from society because he is the only one that walks. Also, in the short story, the other theme is that in
the future, humanity is hopeless and will be unsocial. In the film, Leonard was able to get his friend,
Bob, away from the TV and go on a walk with him. By being able to persuade Bob to go on a walk,
the film s version is hopeful for the future. The film adaptation messed up the theme that Rad

Character Analysis Of Shouto Todoroki My Hero
The character I ve chosen is Shouto Todoroki My Hero Academia, which is written by Horikoshi
Kouhei. He s also one of the main protagonists of the story. Todoroki is generally calm, blunt, and
cold. I find it funny how unintelligent he is when it comes to other people s emotions, and even though
he means well sometimes, his words sometimes come off as harsh. He s mainly portrayed as a calm
and collected individual, but Todoroki can get riled up sometimes. Additionally, he s not one to easily
let go of his anger or hatred towards others. Todoroki is 176 cm, or approximately 5 9 , as officially
stated in his character profile. He has heterochromia, as his right eye is gray while his left eye is blue.
Furthermore, his hair is also split evenly into different colors, the left half being red and the right half
being white. Todoroki also has a burn scar over his left eye, from when he was younger and his
mother threw boiling water over his face. His heterochromia and hair is a not so subtle hint at his
power, which is to burn with his left half, and freeze with his right. However, Todoroki only uses his
ability to freeze ice for the majority of the story, due to his grudge towards his father. He believes that
his father is at fault for his mother being sent to the hospital, and Todoroki s cold personality stems
from his harsh upbringing. In My Hero Academia, a week before final exams, their teacher reminds
them to study for the exams, and some of his classmates admit that

our government is controlled by the people, so therefore we the people need to make sure that that the
people who are voting to alter the government are mature enough to make adult decisions. Today s
teenagers think they are entitled to everything that life has to offer them, and this includes the right to
vote. Why do grown individuals think it is a good idea to let our children, our youth make decisions
that could affect us all when they have not received their high school diploma? Teenagers are simply

Young teens argue that if they are given adult responsibilities, like paying taxes on certain things, then
they should be able to partake in government elections. A large group of people have said that if teens
are forced to pay taxes on the items they buy and the money that they earn from their job then how is
it fair that they can t vote to change something that directly affects them. On average people from the
ages of 15 18 pay an average of $9.7 billion in sales tax alone (Top Ten Reasons to Lower the Voting

a local election most teens have grown up or lived near that area and when they turn 18 most of them

Betrayal In Macbeth And The Lion King
The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from our enemies . Betrayal is defined as the
breaking or violation of a trust or confidence that produces conflict within a relationship between
individuals such as friends, family members, or team mates. The people we trust or rely on are the
ones who are capable of betraying us. By disregarding or not respecting certain relationships with
people, our sense of loyalty can be destroyed. Some acts of betrayal can result in short term success,
sometimes acts of betrayal may be the ultimate downfall of an individual. As interpreted in both
Macbeth and The Lion King, many deeds of betrayal are acted upon, dismantling a number of
relationships creating the success to be either a short term success or an epic failure in the long term.

The Spread Of Christianity Analysis
Introduction
As one of the largest religions in the world, Christianity played a prominent role in shaping western
civilization in the late Roman and early medieval periods. It is generally known that the development
of any religion is not smooth or through a single channel. Based on the case of Christianity, from its
establishment in the mid first century until the early fourth century, it was persecuted for three
hundred years. Despite this, the conversion eventually happened at different times in different regions
of Europe. In 313, the so called Edict of Milan was issued to mark when Constantine (306 337), the
emperor of the Western Roman Empire, recognized Christianity s legitimacy and then in 392,

Heslerton, Northumbria and Whithorn, Galloway in the early medieval period. For example, at
Whithorn, the log coffin burials are part of a larger cemetery associated with a shrine and it is

Three Key Components Of Albert Bandura s Social Learning...
Another theory that is relevant to the study is Albert Bandura s (1977) Social Learning Theory. Unlike
the experiential learning theory which is more focused on how the environment affects the behaviour
of the individual, the social learning theory is based on the idea that we learn from our interactions
with others in a social context. Separately, by observing the behaviors of others, people tend to
develop similar behaviors. New concepts of social learning are being formulated as new trends in
distance education programs emerge. The rise in popularity of these programs continues to increase
the physical distance between educators and students (Smith Berge, 2009). There are three key
components to Bandura s social learning theory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

attends and observes a course in world and is entertained, informed, and approves of the way students
act, they are more likely to want to teach a course in world themselves. They can then use the behavior

Transportation And Warehouse Management Essay
Transportation and Warehouse Management
SUMMARY
The report is on how transportation and warehouse management plays a vital role in the supply chain,
different modes of transports that involve in the freight movement from one location to another. The
amount of time to deliver a product to customers will show the effect on company s future, so the
company has to follow some steps to have a better mode of transportation for less cost and delivery
time. The primary objective of this project is to show how the transportation and warehouse
management systems are used to overcome the problems that are faced in transportation and storage
quickly and some of the key elements in WMS and TMS.
Transportation management:
Globalization has increased the importance and role of transportation in supply chain management.
Transportation plays a vital role in increasing the Gross Domestic product. It involves the movement
of the manufactured product from one location to the another location or the customer safely.
Transportation plays a vital role in the supply chain because the probability of using the produced
product on the same site is almost negligible. Now, transportation is one of the primary factors which
can affect the economy of the company when it is not efficient, safe and reliable. Delivering the
products on time directly to the customers has been increasing significantly in these recent years
which can be accomplished only with transportation management, resulting

Cause And Effects Of The Columbian Exchange
The Columbian Exchange began after the voyage of Christopher Columbus to the Western
Hemisphere across the Atlantic Ocean in 1492. The Columbian exchange is the exchange of people,
animal, plants, and diseases between the Old World and New world. Many of those things went to the
Old World which was Europe conversely many things came to the New World, the Americas, as well.
Although both worlds benefitted from the Columbus Exchange, in reality the Old world benefitted
more. When the European travelers came to America they brought over may diseases including small
pox, influenza, measles, and Scarlett fever. The Native Americans had never been exposed to these
diseases before consequently they did not have antibodies to fight of these diseases which meant that
many people would die from the exposure to the various diseases. The introduction of these diseases
created a high death toll in the Native American population, killing more than half of the original
population. In addition, Europeans introduced horses and livestock to the environment of the new
world. The horses were effective form of transportation that enabled many Indians to improve their
lifestyles. The introduction of horses to plains Indianas, for example, enabled them to hunt bison with
far better results, they were able to hunt more bison with the use of horses. Horses also enabled them
to be more nomadic, the Indians were able to carry more items far further distances and able to move
around more. The addition of livestock such as cattle in the Americas added to the food supply of the
Americas. The livestock provided more food containing protein and other minerals. The introduction
of horses and livestock mainly benefited the Indians lives. Along with the introduction of livestock,
rice and sugar were also brought to the New World from the Old world. Rice and sugar created a
better food supply similar to the livestock. The sugar and rice added a variety to the food already in
the New world. The introduction of rice in the New World enabled many farmers to grow it in the
New World and transport it back to the Old World, creating a great profit. Additionally weapons and
guns were traded with the Native Americans. The Native Americans had

If it s a large network consisting of so many networking devices, then it would be difficult to
configure each and every device with these security measures as it takes a lot of time to do so. Further
more, many network attacks are taking shape these days and their effects on the network are
unpredictable. So if a new attack comes and if a security measure is developed against the attack, then
it should be updated in each and every network device in a network, which will be a very tedious job
to do. This is the current trend running in the networking environment. In our project we are
implementing these security measures over SDN, as it provides a centralized controller for the
network. If we just configure these security measures in the centralized controller, then the entire
network, which is under the control of this particular controller, can be secured. Thus it saves a lot of
time and effort. And if a new network attack comes into the network, then the security measure against
this network attack can be configured inside the controller, so that it can be applied to the whole
network, which is under the control of this controller instead of changing each and every networking
device configuration in a network. Software Defined Networks (SDN), as we utilize this as a part of
the execution of the task. Software Defined Networks is a

Being A Child Of The 90 s Full House Essay
Being a child of the 90 s, Full House was a very popular show for my generation. Least to say when I
saw a spin off, Fuller House was being released this past year to Netflix I was extremely excited.
Coincidently, the spin off released during the time of this course. Believe it or not, I immediately
referenced parenting styles to the episode where DJ Tanner punishes her son a little differently than
Kimmy Gibler punishes her daughter, although the committed the same crime. I am hoping to dissect
this exact scene, and discuss DJ parenting style towards her son. I find the parenting styles really
interesting, specifically the four we discussed in module four and I really want to focus on that here.
Earlier in the course, we discussed Darling four parenting styles and for some reason, these really
stuck with me. The parenting style theory reflects four different types of parents. Indulgent parents
tend to more responsive than they are demanding (Darling) I like to think of indulgent parents as what
todays generation thinks of as cool parents . They tend to be more lenient and let the child do as they
please because they want to avoid confrontation. Darling also discusses Authoritarian and
Authoritative parents which are slightly different. Authoritarian style parents, are a little over barring.
To me, I would consider this style to be a bulldozer parent. Authoritarian style parents are very
demanding and very directive. They expect the child to do what they re told,

Biography of Booker T. Washington
Booker T. Washington is a famous African American educator, author, civil rights activist, and
philanthropist who is from Virginia (Wells). He is the man that promoted African American to rise
above their status of trying to be equal with Caucasians by promoting education and economic self
determination. Washington s life serves as an example of his philosophy or belief due to his
experience of knowing where African Americans started after the Civil War, where they were headed,

Franklin County, Virginia on April 5, 1865. He was born an interracial baby to Jane Ferguson. He

Burroughs family. This cabin, known as Booker T. Washington National Monument, is still preserved

curves and location economies and by expanding its market share outside of its home country. This
business savvy type of management approach seeks to penetrate a huge market availability, which as
global markets develop will gradually combine into just one market. In developing their mission goals
and corporate strategy, Dow Chemical has obviously considered both External and Internal
stakeholders and how strategic maneuvers would impact their ultimate goals. Examples of stakeholder
impacts are: External Stakeholders: Customers: Provide the core of revenue, especially in untapped
markets overseas. Suppliers: Provide input w/significant savings through combined purchasing with
Union Carbide Company and 13 other large companies. Governments: Significant reduced
manufacturing restrictions and potential incentives to conduct business in foreign countries. Unions:
Many foreign countries are not unionized, which could be a production cost incentive. Internal
Stakeholders: Stockholders: Maximizing their Return On Investment by expanding operations and
gaining access to difficult markets.

The three notable poets of the Victorian age became similarly absorbed in social issues. Beginning as
a poet of pure romantic escapism, Alfred, Lord Tennyson, soon moved on to problems of religious
faith, social change, and political power. All the characteristic moods of his poetry, from brooding
splendor to lyrical sweetness, are expressed with smooth technical mastery. His style, as well as his
peculiarly English conservatism, stands in some contrast to the intellectuality and bracing harshness of
the poetry of Robert Browning. Matthew Arnold, the third of these mid Victorian poets, stands apart
from them as a more subtle and balanced thinker his literary criticism is the most remarkable written

rapidly changing times, a pessimism countered, however, by a strong sense of duty. (English) World

Gender Socialization In Toy Store Toys R Us
Gender, as a social construct has constantly intrigued me, particularly since our culture, society and
who we are is formed by it. The thought that we can make something that runs our lives so
tremendously is fascinating. Gender is imbued within each one of us from the beginning of our lives
and is enforced in all most everything, from toys to clothes.
The process of learning the social desires and expectations as well as attitudes associated with one s
sex is called as Gender Socialization. Starting from an early age, girls and boys are advised on how to
act and behave to societal standards of gender roles and behaviors. Gender socialization occurs in
numerous consumer items and even behavior. One method of doing this is through children toys, and

High and low angle shots can be a extremely effective technique if filmed correctly. Using these
techniques can create more dramatic, intense scenes that might not be as effective if using different

is a good example of how low angle and high angle shots work alongside each other. For instance, in
the high angle shot of Karen, she is in the position of dominance. While the gun helps, the angle
shows Karen above Henry not only in a physical manner but visually as well. Because of the angle
Scorsese uses, Karen appears to have total dominance and control over the situation while reducing
Henry s power that he has established throughout the film. On the other hand, Henry is viewed from a
low angle shot with the gun pointed at his end. The position of the low camera angle shows Henry in a
helpless, defenseless manner with no clear positive outcome. The angle portrays Karen as a big,

chose was the backdrop of the Emerald City that is meant for this play and we evaluated how its
appearance and representation of a dream world further emphasized the meaning of the piece. We
proved this by interpreting its physical attributes, with interviews with people observing the piece and

  • 2. The Legacy Of The Jim Crow Laws The years leading up to the 1960 s were ones full of worldly and civil unrest. Wars raged, blood spilled, and many lives were lost. However, these wars weren t always fought across continents and countries. Some were fought internally, without involving assault rifles or trenches. The war I m speaking did involve two sides, but not Axis and Union. This war dealt with racial segregation and hatred among races . This movement sprouted all the way from the roots of slavery and the oppression of those enslaved. However, this movement would not come without its fair share of violence and hatred. Plenty of resistance came from whites who believed their race was superior. The NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) did the best they could in order to fight against this racism, starting their anti lynching campaign in the 1930 s. While other organizations attempted to start campaigns like this as well, the NAACP proved to be the most influential organization during the civil rights movement (Janken, n.d.). Perhaps the most detrimental organization towards this movement was one known as the Ku Klux Klan, also known as the KKK. The KKK were, and still are huge advocates of white supremacy and fought against more than just the blacks. They were/still are known to be hateful towards Jews, Catholics, immigrants, and many more (History.com, 2009). The KKK was responsible for countless crimes during this era. Blacks were lynched, houses were burned to the ground, and countless black families were torn apart. The KKK spread across and occupied nearly every southern states in the United States in the years before the Civil Rights Act of 1964. • 8. Pass the Salt, Please! Essay Salt acts as a biologically, necessary nutrient for human growth and development. If human beings did not give a damn about salt s importance, our world would be filled with bland food, filthy water, and deadly disease. History s first written records of salt appeared in China, around 4,700 years B.C.E. Salt played a major role in ancient history, especially in Roman and Egyptian cultures. Citizens of Rome and Egypt commonly used salt as trade goods, currency for soldiers, religious offerings, and even used in the process of mummification. Modern day chemists found several important ways to use salt. People use sodium today for softening water for drinking, flavoring foods, and for treatment of various medical conditions. Humans and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sodium chloride plays a big role, not only in water, but in culinary use too. The culinary industry commonly uses salt to season dishes, decorate plates, and to preserve raw meats. Salt remains essential in food preparation, presentation, and preservation. Restaurants have strict policies regarding salt use due to the fact that some people must maintain a low sodium diet. Some restaurants are even required to put food items that contain sodium on their menu. Salt will always be a valuable resource to the world. Vacuum Evaporation: Evaporated salt is extracted from underground deposits lying anywhere from 500 to 2,800 feet beneath the surface. Fresh water is forced down a shaft, which dissolves the salt inside the deposit. The saturated water, called brine, is pumped back up to the surface where the water is removed through a heat process in a vacuum evaporator. This process yields evaporated salt, the purest of all salts: almost 100% pure sodium chloride. (Cargill, http://www.cargill.com/salt/about/howsaltismade/index.jsp) Vacuum evaporation continues to be the safest and most efficient form of making salt. Recycling plays an important part in this process. Purified water that evaporates from the heat process is pumped back out of the plant into a lake. This water can be reused to start the process over once finished. Once the salt completes the final stage, large bins are used to store it until workers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Volkswagen Of Americ Managing It Priorities Team 11 Volkswagen of AmericaManaging IT Priorities 1. What is your assessment of the new process for managing priorities at Volkswagen of America? Are the criticisms justified? Is it an improvement over the old process? We believe that the new process for managing priorities was well structured and aligned with the business goals but with few exceptions. Let s try to understand why? VWoA laid out their five next round of growth goals (NRG) and built a business architecture with the help of different organizational entities to manage priorities of different projects in order to implement these goals. The ELT was given the primary responsibility along with ITSC, PMO, BPTO and DBC playing important roles while selecting and prioritizing projects. The Digital Business Council was to play the most challenging role here as it would work with different Business Unit managers in order to select and prioritize projects, keeping in mind a way to categorize projects, assess their business impact, aligning project with business goals and making tradeoff decisions. The process played out in three phases initiated by PMO. Thus, this process is well structured and would help DBC to consider different trade offs while selecting and prioritizing projects. The only exception is that we would recommend to include members of VWG while drafting the goal portfolios of the company so that certain projects that impacted on the global level could also be funded. However, I believe that codified constitutions are not an essential element of democracy as there are examples of robust democracies which have uncodified constitutions and at times codified constitutions are more of a hindrance than a help to the democratic process. I think that we should abolish the penny, because it is costing the US more to make the penny than it is even worth. Every year the U.S. Treasury produces 12 to 14 billion pennies at a cost of $90 million. If we abolished the penny, instead of paying $39.99, we could round it up to $40.00, or round it down to the nearest nickel, and make it $39.95. The penny is not worth as much as it used to be. In the 1940 s, a penny would get you to pieces of candy, but today you cannot buy anything with a single penny. These days, people don t even take their time to bend down and pick up a penny that is laying on the side walk. In the story we read, the dad offered his shoe box full of pennies to his eight year old son, to wrap up in rolls of 50, but his son told him Thanks, dad, but it isn t worth it. He s also one of the main protagonists of the story. Todoroki is generally calm, blunt, and cold. I find it funny how unintelligent he is when it comes to other people s emotions, and even though he means well sometimes, his words sometimes come off as harsh. He s mainly portrayed as a calm and collected individual, but Todoroki can get riled up sometimes. Additionally, he s not one to easily let go of his anger or hatred towards others. Todoroki is 176 cm, or approximately 5 9 , as officially stated in his character profile. He has heterochromia, as his right eye is gray while his left eye is blue. Furthermore, his hair is also split evenly into different colors, the left half being red and the right half being white. Todoroki also has a burn scar over his left eye, from when he was younger and his mother threw boiling water over his face. His heterochromia and hair is a not so subtle hint at his power, which is to burn with his left half, and freeze with his right. However, Todoroki only uses his ability to freeze ice for the majority of the story, due to his grudge towards his father. We proved this by interpreting its physical attributes, with interviews with people observing the piece and with a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
