of socialization, performativity and gender neutrality. I try to show how gender
neutrality would give people agency. I used Judith Butler s theory of performativity
as a framework for this analysis. I connected how socialization forces us to perform
in certain ways. Socialization is the process by which a person what society expects

the teachers just passed you on. They didn t give me a challenge like I was
supposed to have and from that being, now I have to prepare myself for the college

To begin with, the first aspect I reflect on from high school is annotating.

High School. The way my teacher showed me how to annotate was to number the
paragraphs then summarize the paragraphs individually, after doing that it helped

told me to underline any sentences that look interesting to me and circle any
words that I am not familiar with and go and look them up after I was done. But
you don t just annotate and be done, but you have to go back and study what you

During the classical times the Maya were an agricultural people; not necessarily

I think that the author does an amazing job portraying his idea without having to
tell us very much. This is not to say though, that I agree with his message. Harvey
seems to be saying we are born pure and are corrupted by the world as we grow, but

was also a difference between soundtracks for the two movies, in Rebel Without a
Cause there was always music playing in the background. The music in Rebel
Without a Cause seemed to be more dramatic and suspenseful, which in my opinion
always kept the audience on edge and gave off a negative feeling. However, for
Blackboard there was not any background music throughout the film, which may
have taken away from the suspenseful feeling. There was though a song the played
in the beginning of the film, Rock Around The Clock, which gave off a positive
feeling because of its up paced

would like to show you that the stereotypes are wrong. Some of society assumes
people with tattoos are dangerous, unprofessional, and uneducated. A lot of
famous, educated, and professional people support the art of tattooing and freely
show their own. In this essay, I m hoping to open up your mind to the idea of

proudly. Another example is Lady Gaga, who is known for her individualism, but
also for her kind heart. She shows to everyone, accept who you are and love who

tattoos. I am pretty successful for being almost 22 and i have a lot of tattoos. I work
2 jobs and go to school. I pay my own bills and make a living for myself. There is a
lot of people with tattoos that are professional in their workplace. For example,
Johnny Depp. He s known for his great roles and been successful since he was 15.
There are even well respected presidents or famous people who had tattoos like
George Orwell, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Thomas Edison, Teddy Roosevelt, King
George and the list goes on. Tattoos do not affect your ability to show
professionalism in whatever you

One of the best things about Andrew Jackson is the fact that he was never handed a
thing, which formed his political viewings. His father died before he was even
born, and his life just got more difficult from there. At the age of 13, he became

militia. It was also during this war that both of his brothers were captured and killed
by the British. He worked labor intensive jobs until he began to study law and pursue
and political and legal career in Tennessee, and because he did not come from a well
