standards.
Field Engineer III
Contracted from Sprint in 2009.
Market lead technician who schedules work orders and oversees the daily operation and maintenance
on the Sprint network. I monitor the network daily for customer impacting alarms to drive FSO repair
times down.
Perform duties ofEricsson RAN technician while maintaining the Sprint NVLTEnetwork. I maintain
a region of cell sites by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting. Perform maintenance
and troubleshooting on Sprint Fiber Pops, Switches, and Regen sites across Alabama.
I currently oversee the TE Connectivity DAS system at the University of Alabama Bryant Denny
stadium. I work directly with Verizon and AT&T Network Engineering to troubleshoot performance
related issues in the stadium. Perform all break/fix activities on the interior spectrum and exterior
prism nodes.
Over the past 14yrs I have been responsible for all network related upgrades on the Sprint network in
the state of Alabama. I have been a part of new equipment deployments, frequency retunes, and BSC
adds without creating any service interruption.
Extensively involved with EVDO/LTE since the rollout in our market, including building scripts,
troubleshooting, and the training of technicians.
I was heavily involved in several large scale network rollouts during my tenure. I was responsible for
handling the original Birmingham Switch EVDO datalaunch, and I have worked directlywith Ericsson
OEM during the LTE buildout. I completed the packet MSC trunk migrations to the Nashville Core.
During the initial NV rollout I worked exclusively on a software delivery team upgrading RBS
equipment across the country. I performed upgrades on the DUL, SP210, DBA, ASR, and SIU
hardware.
Top Gun Team member and FSO Team lead, I coordinate daily schedules for my team in Alabama
using a Work Force Management tool. I provide a morning staff call to all techs in Alabama, Georgia,
and Mississippi to discuss current issues to drive repair times down.
2. SPRINT, Birmingham, Al 1999-2009
Field Tech III
Maintain over 700 cell sites in the Sprint Data Center. Responsibilities include performing backups of all software
and billing records, as well as all trouble investigations and resolutions. Sustain the multi-million dollar Nortel
switching facility by monitoring all power, HVAC and mechanical systems.
Perform daily maintenance on a number of different technology platforms to eliminate service interruptions that
might be experienced by ourcustomers on the Sprint network. Complete critical database snapshots and backups
on each platform to preserve database integrity. The National Platforms include Comverse, WSCP, PDSN,
RNC, DMS 250, DOEMS, BSSM, Tellabs 5500 DACS, and NGVN
Provision new network trunks and circuits to handle call capacity. Data fill Nortel DMS 250 for new Base Station
additions along with new capabilities experienced by the customer. Work daily to achieve the statistics on the
network that meet the Sprint PCS standards in number of block and dropped calls along with Base Station
availability.
Attended Nortel training to better understand procedures and capabilities of the Network. Training classes
attended are: Tellabs Titan 5500 DACS, BSSM Training for the Nortel switch, Nortel DMS 250 Switch, Nortel
Packet MSC and Comverse Voicemail system.
Member of the Network Disaster Strike Team which played a key role in the network restoral in eight natural
disasters impacting the southeast. The Networks were repaired by working with multiple organizations across
the company to minimize interruptions and restore service.
Assisted store manager with daily duties such as scheduling, time entry, and commission totals.
Assigned in-charge status and handled all store functions when the manager was out of the office.
