Action Against The Government Of Italy
Francovich brought action against the government of Italy for failing to implement the Directive
80/987, that required the protection of employees in the event of their employer s insolvency.
Francovich and other applicants were owed wages by their employers who became bankrupt. Since
they could not sue their employers (because that would involve horizontal effect which is not possible
with a Directive) they sued the Government of Italy which had failed to apply the Directive that aimed
to create institutions for compensating employees. In the first claim the European Court found that the
Directive lacked of direct effect. However, EU Law would be enfeebled if citizens could not acquire
remedy when their rights were breached by a state failing to comply with the EU Law obligations.
Eventually, the Court of Justice in the second claim, decided based on the Article 5 EC that Italy failed
to satisfy its Treaty obligations. So, Francovich set the three conditions under which an individual who
suffered a detriment could bring proceedings directly against the member state. The first condition is
that the outcome prescribed by the directive involves the grant of rights to individuals, the second
condition is that it is essential to identify the content of those rights from the directive and lastly the
third condition is that there must be a causal link between the Member State s negligence and the
detriment suffered by the individual.
Nonetheless, the principle of state

Sumerian Euphratean Dialect
Researchers would often to challenge Euphratean dialect or one substrate dialect. It has been proposed
by them and others, that the Sumerian dialect was initially that of the seeker and fisher people groups,
who lived in the marshland and the Eastern Arabia littoral locale, and were a piece of the Arabian
bifacial culture. Reliable authentic records start much later; there are none in Sumer of any sort that
have been dated before Enmebaragesi (c. 26th century BC). Juris Zarins trusts the Sumerians lived
along the shoreline of Eastern Arabia, today s Persian Gulf district, before it overflowed toward the
end of the Ice Age.
Sumerian progress took frame in the Uruk period (fourth thousand years BC), proceeding into the
Jemdet Nasr and Early Dynastic periods. Amid the third thousand years BC, a nearby social beneficial
interaction created between the Sumerians, who talked a dialect segregate, and Akkadian speakers,
which included far reaching bilingualism. Sumerian culture appears to have showed up as a full
fledged progress, with no pre history. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is without a doubt right, yet where we turned out badly was in regards to the tenants of both tracts
as non Semitic. Jules Oppert constantly kept up that the Sumerians were non Semitic, however around
then it was enhanced that the Akkadians were Semites, as is currently by and large acknowledged. In
Gen. x, 10, Akkad is alluded to with Babel, Erech, and Calneli just as it were a city, henceforth the
more established purpose of view.1 The nation in general bears the name of Shin ar, contrasted by a
few and Shumer. The Hebrew shape still requires clarification. The perspective in Mr. Woolley s book,
in any case, demonstrates that the entire Babylonian tract should be called Akkad, as the first
occupants appear to have been Semites, while the Sumerians were the intruders or

Wisdom Teeth Research Paper
Emergency Dentist in Eagle County
When dental emergencies strike, it s important to see your Avon, CO dentist right away. Ignoring
mouth and facial injuries can lead to serious complications. Dr. Maloley and his team provide dental
emergency care for cases like knocked out teeth, loose fillings, broken appliances, broken jaw, and
soft tissue injuries. If it is after hours or you are far from a hospital or dental clinic, you can relieve
discomfort with these first aid tips:
Severe Toothache
Toothache is often caused by deep decay, trauma, a large cavity, a fractured tooth, or an impacted
wisdom tooth. Take a painkiller like Advil or Motrin to relieve pain, but avoid aspirin as it can worsen
bleeding. Swish your mouth with warm water or mouthwash and avoid putting pressure on the tooth.

And as you recover, you can be deciding on what type of tooth replacement is best for you.
Wisdom Teeth Extraction
Wisdom teeth can cause a lot of problems for your oral health, especially if they become impacted.
This leads to pain and discomfort and overcrowding of your teeth. Not to mention that wisdom teeth
are so far back in your mouth, they are very difficult to keep clean and free of plaque. In other words,
wisdom teeth can increase your risk of tooth decay.
Root Canals
A tooth that has become so severely decayed that the soft pulp at the center is infected can still be
saved with a root canal from Vail Valley Dental Care. For this dental procedure, we will remove the
infected material from the center of your tooth. We will then treat the remaining tooth with
antibacterials to ensure the infection does not return or spread. The hollowed root canals will be filled
with a bacteria resistant resin to further protect the health of your tooth. The top of your tooth will be
replaced with a dental crown to restore full function to the once weakened

Atticus Finch As A Positive Law
Does Atticus Finch demonstrate the virtues of natural law or positive law theories?
Riyaadh Amanjee
201202174
This essay begins with an outline of natural law and positive law. It then goes on to analyse whether
Atticus Finch demonstrates values of positive or natural law. This analysis is achieved examining the
virtues, behaviour and characteristics of Atticus Finch, the appropriate theory of law and the criticism
which it has received. The essay then concludes by ??????
Legal positivism is generally based on the principle that Law and morality is distinct and that the
validity of a rule depends more on its sources, while Natural law would be more inclined to favour
features of reasonableness and the link between morality and law. There are two predominant groups

Essay about The Forbidding House
It was a cold winter s night. The wind was whistling through the bare branches of the trees. The dead
leaves were dancing noisily across pavements and all was still. That night I was walking down Old
St.Paul s Road when the clouds started to build. I looked around as I huddled under a large, dead oak
tree. I had noticed that almost all of the houses on this abandoned street were too badly damaged for
us to take shelter in, except for one. Lightning split the night sky without a sound, illuminating the
skeletal trees outside. The old Victorian house shook to its very foundations as the peal of thunder
rumbled hatefully across the shimmering, tempestuous lake. Should I stay under the tree ... Show

Once I got to the top my heart thumped harder and faster as I saw a dark figure in the distance,
disturbingly silhouetted in the dark. In the shock I slipped and fell backwards, tumbling down, like
rocks on a cliff face. When I got to the bottom, I felt a ghastly throbbing pain in my back, which hurt
like hell. I slowly got up and my mind was focused on the thing I had seen upstairs. I then felt a cold
breeze that made my bones shiver and hair stand up on end. A giant rat scampered across the floor; it s
beady eyes glowed red in the flicker of the lantern light. It hissed at me. I dropped my lantern.
Suddenly, I was plunged into utter darkness. I took several deep breaths to calm my trembling body
and finished my trek up the stairs. Vivid flashes of lightning illuminated the attic. A vase lay in pieces
in front of the broken window. Well, at least I knew what had caused the crash, I mused to myself. I
found an old threadbare cloak hanging near the window. I now realised that is wasn t a person who I
had seen but simply an old cloak. I suddenly tripped over a large box as I walked. The trunk wasn t
locked, but age had rusted it shut. I gripped the top and pulled with all of my strength. The trunk
protested, but finally gave in. Another rat jumped up at me. I clenched the rat s tail and threw it away

and sports wagering and charitable gaming, such as raffles, bingo and other low technology games.
Legalized gambling has become more prevalent over the last 25 years as more jurisdictions take

Native American casinos are exempt from federal regulations and are not required to pay any taxes on
their revenues, but they are generally required to pay a percentage of their winnings to the state in
which they are located. Native American casinos are likely going to increase their effect on the
traditional casino industry. By adding more Native American casinos throughout the United States,
locations such as Las Vegas and Atlantic City are likely to suffer because less people are going to be
making the trips to one of these two competitive locations because they will be able to easily access a
casino in their own backyard. Another potential sector of the casino industry is the availability of
Internet gambling. This will provide casino consumers with the ability to place bets through home
computers and gives them a potentially low cost business model for firms that already operate casinos.
It is widely believed that gambling on the Internet will eventually be legalized, regulated, and taxed.
The potential for growth in the casino industry seems unlimited. With hot tourist locations such as Las
Vegas and Atlantic City, more and more Native American casinos, and the possibility of a legalized
online gaming industry, large revenues for the casino industry seem inevitable. Serious thought,
however, needs to be given to the

The Influence Of Jazz In The 1920 s
The era of the Roaring Twenties, was a time of great societal change. For nearly the first half of the
twentieth century, from about 1915 to 1955, jazz was the dominant form of popular dance music in the
United States. Jazz originated in major cities throughout the U.S. at the turn of the 20th century,
primarily in the decade of 1920. Many of these changes were greatly influenced by jazz music. During
this time, the country was coming out of World War I and the attitude of most people was dismal.
Dance and music clubs became tremendously popular in an effort to improve the quality of life for
many people. Jazz s influence on America could be described as a positive for cultural diversions. This
new genre of sound paved a way for artists to express their feelings, but also different types of music
were created and jazz began to spread around the US. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Final Reflection On Food Nourishment
ACE 435
Final Reflection
Jon and Rachel are awesome! Thank you all for a wonderful class!
1. Which guest speaker hosted in class this semester had the greatest impact on you? What did you
learn from him/her and how might it affect your future? The topic that had the greatest impact on me
is about food security by professor Michelson. In the lecture, we discussed the importance of food
security, the trends of rising global food demand, factors that drives the expected demand increase,
and also the relationship between income and food. The first question she came up with is why food
security became such a major challenge worldwide? In my point of view, one of the simple reason is
that everybody needs food. By answering this question, she introduced the definition of food security,
and three hierarchical pillars. I learned that population growth, climate change, and water scarcity are
some of the factor that cause food security became a problem. Also, as people become more affluent
they start to change their tastes. For example, meat consumption in both developed and developing
countries predict to increase while their income rise. Then we analyzed couple graph and table. In the
over nourishment map, we found out that Europe, North America and Oceania seems waste the most
food. In the map of meat demand driver, I learned that since two third of meat Chinese consume is
pork, China actually consumes more total meat calories than US. Last but not least, professor
Michelson introduced Engel s law and Bennett s law. Engel s law stated that as income increase, the
portion of income spent on food falls, but the amount of money that expend on food might increase.
Bennett s law stated that as income rises, the portion of starchy food in the diet falls. One of the
interesting things I found out in her presentation is that if an average individual has an intake calories
below 1690 1930 kcal per day, he or she is undernourished. I was shock by this information because I
used to take around 1400 kcal per day, and I am actually undernourished if by this definition. After
listened to professor Michelson s speech, I realized that feeding the people is one of the greatest
challenged worldwide. The challenge is not only

Living Conditions of Industrial Cities in the 19th Century
What Were Living Conditions Like in 19th Century Industrial Cities?
The living conditions in the Industrial Revolution varied from city to city depending on how much the
factory owners cared for their workers or how much industry went on there. The Industrial Revolution
gained pace during Victoria s reign because of the power of steam. Victorian engineers developed
larger powerful machines that could run whole factories. This led to a massive increase in the number
of factories. Despite the growing wealth due to trade and commerce, many of the working people, who
actually produced the wealth, lived, worked and died in very poor conditions. The Industrial
Revolution was stimulated by Britain s gargantuan empire and its growing level of trade. There was
increased demand for the export of goods from Britain and greater pressure on importing goods into
Britain.
The industrialisation of Britain s towns and cities had a detrimental effect on the people who came to
live there. Living conditions in the 1800s were incredibly unequal. The rich and powerful factory
owners would live out in the quiet peaceful countryside with lots of creature comforts, whilst their
workers would return into smelly, dirty and minuscule back to back terraces at the end of a long
working day. These homes were usually built with no inside toilets or running water. People either
washed in a tin bath or at a pump outside. Many people decided not to wash at all as it was the easiest
option. There was a

Red Blood Cells
Red blood cell

Human red blood cells (6 8μm)
Red blood cells (also referred to as erythrocytes) are the most common type of blood cell and the
vertebrateorganism s principal means of delivering oxygen (O2) to the body tissues via the blood flow
through thecirculatory system. They take up oxygen in the lungs or gills and release it while squeezing
through the body scapillaries.
These cells cytoplasm is rich in hemoglobin, an iron containing biomolecule that can bind oxygen and
is responsible for the blood s red color.
In humans, mature red blood cells are flexible biconcave disks that lack a cell nucleus and most

Membrane composition
The membrane of the red blood cell plays many roles that aid in regulating their surface deformability,
flexibility, adhesion to other cells and immune recognition. These functions are highly dependent on
its composition, which defines its properties. The red blood cell membrane is composed of 3 layers:
the glycocalyx on the exterior, which is rich in carbohydrates; the lipid bilayer which contains many
transmembrane proteins, besides its lipidic main constituents; and the membrane skeleton, a structural
network of proteins located on the inner surface of the lipid bilayer. In human erythrocytes, like in
most mammal erythrocytes, half of the membrane mass is represented by proteins and the other half
are lipids, namely phospholipids and cholesterol.[29]

The erythrocyte cell membrane comprises a typical lipid bilayer, similar to what can be found in
virtually all human cells. Simply put, this lipid bilayer is composed of cholesterol andphospholipids in
equal proportions by weight. The lipid composition is important as it defines many physical properties
such as membrane permeability and fluidity. Additionally, the activity of many membrane proteins is
regulated by interactions with lipids in the bilayer.

Violent Video Games And Aggression Analysis
Since their appearance in the market, video games are the often the subject of moral debates. Parents
are afraid they will influence their children to act out and commit crimes. Mental health professionals
worry they ll impact psychological development. In most cases, this is the result of the need of a
scapegoat. People need something to blame for the wrong they observe in the immediate world around
them. Video games follow rock n roll, comic books, and even radio in a long list of sources of moral
panic. There is no evidence to support the claim that they are, without a doubt, the reason for violent
crime in teens.
Studies into the effects of violent video games on teenage behavior stem back decades. Yet no study
has isolated video games as being the sole contributor to juvenile violence. Consumption of video
games continues to rise, while violent crimes committed by teens are in decline. Total video game
sales in the US increased 204% from 1994 to 2014. Meanwhile, murders committed by juveniles
acting alone fell 76% in that same period (1). If the claims of critics were valid, then what should be
happening is an increase in teenage crime. As ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many experiments that blame video games for increased aggression and desensitization to violence do

levels. With such limited data, it s easy to make rash assumptions. A three year study conducted by
psychology professor Christopher J. Ferguson saw the effects of violent video games on aggression
vanish when adjusted to how the games are played in real life. (3) In fact, over time, video games

Donne born as a catholic, but converted into Protestantism, yet he uses much athletic imagery in his
poetry. Herbert a strong Christian , who has written my devotional poetry sees God Almighty as a
shepherd and uses natural imagery such as, flowers and animals. This is to convey his need for
guidance as well as his piety to his lord. In addition, Mary Sidney Herbert raised as a Calvinist also
uses devotional language in her psalms, yet she uses a more masculine and aggressive tone to express
her anger on the original sin. Lastly, Amelia lanyer raised as protestant who has written feminist
poetry that uses a gentle, passive tone than Sidney. Her approach in describing Eve as the best woman
of the creation. Thus, Lanyer poetry is more feministic but also argumentive in defending women.
In the book English Poetry of the Sixteenth century Gary Waller speaks about how poetry is male
centred; In such a society, and within such a philosophy of love, both so male centred, (1986:2)
This shows how patriarchal certain Elizabethan poems were but the religious poetry is different
according to change in gender roles.

Mi Brain Design Techniques
3. Proposed Technique
Intuitively, if we can precisely locate the tumor region in the MRI image and recognize the
corresponding shape as well, then we will obtain a high performance algorithm, also if we can take
only a few features from this region, then we will obtain an algorithm with a low complexity
compared with the previous algorithms. This section describes an overview of all fundamental
processes in our brain diseases classification system. These processes are generally referred to as
image preprocessing, image segmentation, feature extraction and classification respectively see Fig.3.

3.2 Image Segmentation The proposed model performs the segmentation process using clustering
method which is considered an efficient segmentation technique. Clustering is the process of classifies
objects into different groups and classes. In clustering the data is classified according to a common
features shared between the object and the target class. The process of portioning data into a number
of subsets is often referred to as supervised learning or clustering. K means is one of clustering
techniques designed and used in many approaches [4]. K means is generally used to determine the
natural groupings of pixels present in an image. K means is considered to be one of the best
unsupervised clustering and classification techniques, also it s considered a very fast technique
compared with other algorithms. The aim of using K means is to classify each pixel to it s one or more
data classes by calculating the distance between the input pixel with the other pixels in the clustering
window. Fig.5 shows the result of applying the clustering technique on an MRI image containing
tumor and the resulted image showing the image after extracting the tumor region only without any
noise or other regions.
3.3 Feature Extractions

us in classifying the disease that the MRI image suffers from. The feature extraction process consists
mainly of two stages which are, feature

A New Concept
IAQ is not a new concept, consider our ancestors living in caves and the impact from smoke
pollutions or in ancient Egypt stonemasons working in the open air were healthier than those working
in workshop. Even Biblical scripts refer to the dangers of mould in the home. However, there have
been four fundamental developments that have occurred in the last forty five years (Lee, et al., 1996):
The increased time spent within indoor environments. The increased dependency on artificial products
(building materials and finishes, scents, furniture). The increased occupancy density (open plan
offices, reduction of working space). Advancements of energy conservation techniques (air tight
buildings, re circulated air, reduced ventilation). A growing body of scientific evidence has indicated
that the air within buildings can be more seriously polluted than the outdoor air in even the largest and
most industrialized cities. The US s Toxic Substances Strategy Committee stated that the majority of
cancers (80 90%) are triggered by exposure to substances in the environment (Landrigan et al., 2002).
According to a 5 year study carried out by the US Environmental Protection Agency (Greenfield,
1991), peak concentrations of 20 toxic compounds, some linked with cancer and birth defects, were
200 500 times higher inside than outdoors. It is necessary to note that these figures are based on US
values and there is a need to exhibit caution in applying them directly to the UK in

The introduction of the sport Cricket was much more complex than simply just a new game for people

by easing tensions and restrictions of caste members, athough sometimes intensifying British Indian
rivalry, as well as increasing religious tensions between Hindus and Muslims. Cricket played a huge
part in lessening social divisions, a constant problem in almost all of civilization s history. Prince
Ranjitsinhji, photographed in London s paper, planned to visit England and join the Sussex team, who
are glad to have him (Doc. 2). This is evidence that despite English likely believing they are superior
to Indians, because of the game of cricket, they are glad to incorporate a talented player even if he is

Camelot Analysis
This story is set in Camelot 528 A.D. beginning on nineteenth of June (17). The setting is important
because the way of speech was much different then. That would make a big difference for a man from
Connecticut from 1879. Also in this time period there were thatch roofed houses and stone houses.
Also people dressed much differently.
This story is in limited first person. This is important because it only shows the story from the
Connecticut man s point of view. This way you only know his thoughts, not the thoughts of others.
This point of view also gives a more personal feel to the story as you are walking in this man s shoes
as to say. I seemed to believe the boy, I didn t know why. (17). I had mine, the king and his people had

Analysis Of Alice ; S Change In Attitude In Alice Walker s...
However, Alice begins to realize the dynamics as the story progresses and new experiences emerge. I
feel that Alice s change in attitude is Carroll s way of insinuating the ridiculousness or hypocrisy in
the adult s and society s standard way of thinking. The first scene where the reader sees Alice take
hold of her authority is when she becomes incredibly big at the White Rabbit s House. I feel that this
scene is very significant because it shows how the shift in Alice s character is set up. In order for Alice
to stand up against the Rabbit, she had to become bigger in size. I believe that this scene is a metaphor
to how Carroll viewed the ridiculousness of how most adults viewed children, and was a way to show
children reading the novel that one day they too will grow bigger in size and have the upper hand on
the older adults. This scene also shows the fragility of the power dynamics. Carroll is insinuating that
this idea that adults are more knowledgeable or superior because they are bigger than a child is
nonsenses and can easily be altered. Once Alice realized she has the authority in herself, the entire
dynamics of the story changes. Ren even states, in spite of the awkward inconvenience, (Alice) enjoys
her large body size, for it gives her power to fight back (Ren 4). I believe that Alice begins to realize
her own power and voice and in turn she discovers strength within herself. It s through this new found
power that Alice threatens them by saying, you better not

The Right And The Protection Under The Constitution
Do civil authorities have the right to use every legal resource or tool within their power to protect their
citizens? As a citizen of a civilized country, I believe the civil authorities have the right and it is their
duty to do whatever is within their legal authority to protect our way of life. At this time an ongoing
debate in our political discourse is the concern for privacy rights versus the concern for national
security. Benjamin Franklin once said Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little
temporary safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety . I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment, as
Americans, we are guaranteed the right and the protection under the constitution to our privacy.
During the digital age, social media has exploded and caused all of us as a society to question the
difference between private and public information. I believe private information is one that is not
shared explicitly by an individual, therefore entitling the information to all the protections guaranteed
by our constitution. However, I believe once an individual decides to post private information on a
public social media platform that information is no longer private and grants the civil authorities the
legal power to access it.
According to a 2013 Pew Research report, 73% of Americans use social networking sites, with this
rise in popularity social media has also attracted criminals. I believe if people are willing to put their

The Inclusion Of The Phrase Under God
The inclusion of the phrase under God in our nation s Pledge of Allegiance is an extremely
controversial topic within the United States government. This only brings to attention that although
society says you may not force others to follow your religion, it is not looked down upon to practice a
religion in the presence of people who believe differently. The Supreme Court of the US has
confirmed this multiple times. In addition, the Pledge of Allegiance is recited only as an act of
patriotism and as a way to honor those who have fought for the freedom we have graciously been
provided. The addition of the phrase was not to provoke argument, but to separate us from other
countries and to highlight our differences from others through our past; to show the principles our
country was founded on. Most importantly, there is the blatant fact that the pledge is completely
voluntary. Due to our daily recitation, some might be given the impression that we re a Christian
nation, not knowing the facts. Overall, the phrase has been tried a countless number of times in the
Supreme Court, without failure; it has historic value that no one can take away from it; and, most
importantly, participation in reciting the Pledge is completely voluntary, making the Pledge of
Allegiance not only legal in all respects, but also deserving of our recitation in public schools daily.
Since the phrase was added in 1954, cases have been found in the Supreme Court questioning its
validity. In one

Strong National Museum Case Study
The Strong National Museum of Play was originally founded in 1968 as the Margret Woodbury Strong
Museum of Fascination. The museum was created due to the will of Margret Strong and the bulk of
the collection came from her estate. Toys and dolls made up the largest part of the collection although
it contained a range of objects from buttons to home furnishings. The majority of the collection was
also mass produced so initially the museum used them to examine ways in which industrialization
changed everyday life. ...this focus evolved into an examination of the consequences of progress, the
rise of the middle class, and expressions of identity. This was a complete departure from the
interpretative themes of children, play, imagination, and fun that the dolls and toys evoked. Over time
the Strong Museum began to increase family programming and install more interactive, child focused
exhibits. Eventually, this led to the institution s rebranding as the Strong National Museum of Play in

The Expedition Of Lewis And Clark
Without the expedition of Lewis and Clark, the American history that people know would be
completely different changing the accomplishments in history. The background and experience Lewis
and Clark already developed prior to the expedition would be very beneficial and help make the
journey easier. The development of the mission played a key part in the expedition itself because if the
development did not play out exactly how Jefferson planned, then the expedition may not have been
as successful. A big part of history, the expedition was very significant and impacted American society
in ways that no one will ever be able to understand. Although the expedition of Lewis and Clark
would be a very long journey, the United States would not have developed into such a prosperous
country without the two men who traveled across the terrain in rain and snow in order to improve the
United States. Meriwether Lewis was born August 18, 1724 near Ivy Virginia where he would begin a
journey that would change history. In 1801, Thomas Jefferson asked Lewis to be his private secretary
after he helped in the Whiskey Rebellion, which was farmers who started an uprising against taxes in
1794. Lewis had a very prominent role within the state militia, which would benefit him in the future.

America in many ways. At the young age of 19, Clark entered into the military where people knew

Misperception and Deception in William Shakespeare s...
Misperception and Deception in Twelfth Night
Twelfth Night is likely one of Shakespeare s most entertaining and complete comedy. This romance
explores a generous wealth of themes and issues. The most recurrent theme is the relationship between
misperception and deception. As a result of their environment and immediate circumstances, men are
forced into misperceptions. Paradoxically, they are completely trapped by these illusions. Between the
bad fortune they encounter and the bad fortune they themselves generate, they become caught between
a rock and a hard place; they are victims of deceit as well as their own folly.
The relationship between misperception and deception has numerous effects: it gives way to ... Show

Of course, in reality, Viola and Sebastian were being confused. The main plot of Twelfth Night
revolves around the cause of such confusion resulting in disillusioned and self deceived characters.
The main plot of the play involves twins of the opposite sex who are separated during a tragic
shipwreck, each believing the other to be dead. The female, Viola, disguises herself as male and serves
in the love sick Duke Orsino s Court, where Tis said no woman may approach his court. Orsino then
uses Viola who, in male dress is known as Cesario to attempt to woo Countess Olivia for himself,
whereupon the Countess falls in love with Viola and Viola with Orsino. This love triangle is brought
to a conclusion when Sebastian, the male twin, stumbles upon the Countess grounds and, mistaken for
Viola in man s guise, is promptly married to Olivia. The twins are therefore united when Viola reveals
her true identity. Thus the main plot revolves around misperception and deception, and the main plot is
paralleled by the sub plot.
The sub plot concerns the activities of the Countess s servants. It largely involves the plotting of
Malvolio s downfall. There is an attempt to make him appear a fool before Olivia ( ...here comes the

Cultural Diversity In Australia Essay
Australia has a strong cultural diversity, I will start of by explaining Australia s culture, Australia is
one of the most ethnically diverse societies of the world today, Australia has the lowest population
density per square kilometre than any other country, The Aboriginal and Torres Strait people were the
first to inhibit the land of Australia, In Australia wearing your national dress for religious or customary
purposes is widely accepted, Australian dress code can change regarding different jobs, events or
environments, but in general public there is no law on dress codes, people dress to suit their own style
or in a way to express themselves, In Australia it is polite to shake someone s hand when you first
meet them, regardless of sex, it has also become quite common to kiss someone hello on the cheek,
but this is usually if you know them quite well and it is usually between friends, it is also social
custom to look someone in the eye if you are talking to them.
Australian culture tends to be informal in their everyday interactions, most people address other
people by their first names, unless otherwise instructed, it is also customary to say please and thank
you and excuse me and sorry in most situations.
Australians celebrate all kinds of different holidays, some recognised days hold national meanings or
to commemorate a past event, which in Australia we call a public holiday, on a public holiday some

State vs Constitutional Decisions
Individual rights are a very crucial part of our United States constitution, because whether these rights
are being provided towards a criminal defendant or a victim the goal of our national government is to
provide the same level of rights adequately to all its citizens. From the time in which the new judicial
federalism began up until now, these rights have been more and more in debate case after case both in
federal and state courts. A good example to this fact is a comparison between 3 different cases that
pertain to decisions from both state and federal court, these cases are Maryland v Craig, Pennsylvania
v Ludwig, and Ohio v Self. These cases deal with the defendant s right to confront witnesses when the
witness is a child who is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Craig then objected to the motion basing it on the confrontation clause but then the trial court rejected
her, in which then the trial court allowed children to testify under statute, then Craig was convicted of
all counts. Maryland court of last resort reversed and remanded for a new trial by rejecting Craig s
contention, but concluding that the 6th amendment s confrontation clause guarantees face to face
confrontation. For the statute to be invoked in the first place the defendant must have had a face to
face with it s accusers, and also that the state s showing of expert testimony was insufficient in order
to comply with regulations required in Coy v Iowa (1988), which was a similar case to this one but the
main difference was that there was a curtain to conceal the child victim instead of a one way closed
circuit camera, therefore the defendant s constitutional rights were violated by not being provided that
right. The case was then taken by Craig to the U.S. Supreme court. The constitutional question the
U.S. Supreme court is addressing was whether the one way closed circuit testimony of a child witness
who is alleged to be a victim of child abuse violates the confrontation clause of the sixth amendment.
Since the court determined that closed circuit questioning met the fundamental purposes of the clause,
(which in general are the right to personally examine the witness

Human Nature Of Curiosity
Curiosity within
Curiosity is human nature that people are born with. From the moment someone is born they becomes
curious of all their surroundings and what they can do. Curiosity also leads to instability because every
one becomes curious sooner, and or later someone will break the rules or do something they aren t
supposed to. Also, if one realizes they aren t really happy then they will become curious and try to find
something that will make them happy. This will lead to instability in society where a small amount of
people like a certain thing and others don t. It will all lead to people arguing and destroying the so
called perfection that they have reached. Therefore, stability will never be reached because of people s
curiosity, and because of society s will of trying to be perfect which makes it imperfect.
In the World State everyone has a certain job to do and the people are separated according to their
caste system, there are Alphas, Betas, Gammas, Deltas, and Epsilons. They are ordered from higher
class to lower class but this doesn t stop curiosity between all of them. There are some people in the
World State that experience curiosity. Bernard Marx is one of the few that are really experiencing
curiosity and want something different. A great example is when he begins to feel something for
Lenina and when they are on a date he asks Don t you wish you were free Lenina (91). He is not the

The Effects Of Music On Children On Music And...
The brain is a complex organism that is stuffed in our skull to help up to move, think, learn, live. As
the brain progresses through the stages of development, one of the things that really helps to have it
develop right is music. Have you ever noticed how expecting mothers listen to music during
pregnancy. This has many benefits, for one it helps the child bond with the mother, knowing her type
of music and getting to know what she likes and her strengths and weaknesses. This makes for a
stronger bond with the mother. It also helps with the development of the child, finding joy in music
and understanding the awesome power of it. As we get older we start to really like whatever type of
music we like but when we go back to that music that we heard while still not even born we get a
warm fuzzy feeling that only comes from your mom listening to music while she was pregnant with
you. As we grow up and move to middle school our brains start to have a different thing that happens
and the rest of our body starts to change and we start to gravitate toward being our own person and
like our own music. Music is a huge part of our lives and helps us through our development stages.
Our brains are not done fully developing till we are 25 and the only way that we get through all of that
is by listening to music and really giving ourselves the best chance to have our brains develop right. I
m not saying that by not listening to music our brains can t develop, I m just saying that

Leinaweaver Child Circulation Summary

At the beginning of the course, we also learned about feminist anthropology and how it initially
focused on women, gender construction, and gender inequality, increasingly concerned with power
and inequality in general. Using a reading from class, I am able to understand how social
constructions of gender is able to vary cross culturally. The Berdache Tradition explains the difference
between sex and gender. Sex is a biological form when gender can be perceived more as a choice.
Meaning, there are more than two genders. It is able to be varied among cultures. In the reading, men
played a third gender, doing housework. In some of the cultures, the berdache is able to become a wife

able to understand that gender roles had to do with more than just a biological sex. Individuals were a
part of the natural order of the universe itself, with something special to contribute. This all helped me

Women s Role In Ancient Greek Society
The Role of Women in Ancient Greek Society Throughout history, the role of women has been
minimal. Many of them were seen as objects, and the Greek woman was no different. Women in
ancient Greece basically had no rights. A female s whole life was centered on her children, husband,
and family. The ancient Greek woman was of a lower social status than the males. Greek women
played a demeaning role in Greek society and were only seen as wives, mothers, and housekeepers.
Even in ancient Greece, marriage was a spiritual and legal ceremony. The spiritual and legal ceremony
was really considered to be a transaction among two men. The ancient Greek woman had no say in

Women did not own much, but if she did, the property always remained separate from her husband s.
The husband served as head of the household and controlled all of the property while he was alive.
When the husband died, all inheritance was given to the children. A woman could not receive an
inheritance from her husband, but she could receive things from her brother. In fact, the only way a
woman could possess anything was if she divorced her husband without bearing any children.
Becoming a mother was one of the most important roles for women in ancient Greece. It was
extremely important for women to produce male children. When a man s wife did not have a male, it
was seen as shameful. Giving birth to a girl was seen as an embarrassment and disgrace. After giving
birth to a daughter, a mother would turn her head away from her husband in shame (Demand, p. 6).
Daughters could not carry on their families name so; men often did not count them as their children. If

Confidantes, Marriage, and Friendship in Pride and...
One cannot accomplish much without the help and opinions of people such as their friends, siblings,

Lizzy needs when she is feeling flustered. Jane perfectly fits the criteria of a confidante because she is

mind. Jane truly believes all people are good spirited and that she will never be deceived by anyone.
In this way, the author uses Jane Bennet to give the reader a different perspective of a certain character
in the story: while Elizabeth is always criticizing the many characters in this novel, Jane is there to
deliver a contradictory statement about those characters. Mr. Wickham reveals to Elizabeth that Mr.
Darcy had prevented him from joining the ministry by refusing to supply the money Darcy s father
had intended to provide for Wickham. Upon hearing these revealing statements about Mr. Darcy,
Elizabeth is appalled and outraged at how selfish a man can be. Elizabeth then relates to Jane about
what she had discovered about Mr. Darcy but Jane provides her and the reader with a different, more
optimistic point of view: It is impossible. No man of common humanity, no man who had any value
for his character, could be capable of it. Can his most intimate friends be so excessively deceived in
him? Oh! no (Austen 74). Elizabeth s decision to believe Mr. Wickham originates her prejudice
towards Mr. Darcy into the novel. However, in the end, the reader finds out that Jane had actually been
correct in that Darcy can never have done such a horrible thing and that he had actually given
Wickham the money his father left for him. Jane Bennet is the perfect example of what a

name, but other teams should as well, because it can be very offensive and hurtful towards the Native
Americans. The offensive names of sports teams like the Washington Redskins can negatively affect
the identity of the Native American people. Susan Shown Harjo, President of the Morning Star
institute, questioned, How would you feel if you had your home taken away from you and then
watched as your identity was stolen for profit? It s adding insult to injury. (Wulf, 2014). In 2005, the
NCAA banned most Native American mascots and said that they were no longer protected under the
trademark protection law. This applied to most of the teams, except those who keep ties with the tribes

The Debt For Advanced Economies
The supply of general gross debt for advanced economies increased significantly over the past years
compared to that of emerging economies, especially after the onset of the financial crisis as illustrated
in the graph below:
The above general advanced economies debt supply has been absorbed by demand from both foreign
and domestic investors, however, the demand composition of these investors has changed significantly
for some countries compared to others since the onset of the financial crisis as evident in the graph
below:
Indeed, notably the foreign demand has declined significantly during the euro sovereign crisis for
higher spread euro sovereigns (Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, and Spain, or so called GIIPS ) as well
as for other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(2009)) However, looking deeper, an increase, in particular, in the share of domestic banks in the
investor base may threaten domestic financial stability and increase the sovereign bank nexus,
increasing borrowing costs and even in extreme cases leading to self fulfilling debt crisis. (Adler,
(2012); Acharya et. al. (2013))
Refinancing Risk
Some studies show that a rising share of foreign investors in the investor base increases governments
refinancing risk. In particular, foreign non bank investors can be less stable source of funding for
sovereigns because they can invest in broader pool of assets, thus can easily stop rolling over or can
sell the debt in cases of sovereign shocks. (Arslanalp and Tsuda (2012)) Additionally, some advanced
economies might be hit by sudden stops in foreign funding also as a result of global risk aversion shift.
(Calvo and Talvi (2005))
Do foreign investors matter?
Indeed, the composition of the investor base matters, in particular a decline in foreign demand matters
for both borrowing costs and refinancing risk. However, the interesting observation is that such
foreign investor demand decline has had significant implications for some countries such as the high
spread euro countries (GIIPS) while very little effect for other countries such as Switzerland,
Australia, and US. This leads to the conclusion that some advanced economies (e.g. high spread euro
economies) are more vulnerable to changes in the sovereign debt share by foreign

Abstract

researched and found a mitigation plan for Cochise county in Arizona. The area at hand is vulnerable

uncommon disasters. The plan incorporates 3 of the 5 subjects we covered in web projects. They are

What Is The Difference Between Korotokoff Sound And Dub...
What anatomical structure of the heart produces the lub and dub sounds? The anatomical structure that
makes the lub is the atrium. This is when the atria closes off at the tricuspid and mitral valves after
filling the ventricle. The dub sound is the opposite. This is when the ventricles close off at the aortic
and pulmonary valves. What are Korotkoff sounds? They are the sounds, heard with a stethoscope, as
the pressure from the blood pressure cuff starts to release. How are Korotkoff sounds different from
the lub dub sounds? The Korotkoff Sounds differ from the lub, dub sounds because the lub,dub sounds
can be heard from any normal ear. Whereas the K sounds need to be heard by stethoscope. The heart

The Characteristics Of North American Currency
Have we always known the distinct characteristics of North American currency? The dollar bills and
coins we use today have been through many changes in appearance and value. Paper and metals have
been the appearance of most currency. The change of currency went through early colonial period,
colonial period, Antebellum period, Civil War period and the Reconstruction period to finally establish
what we now know as American Currency. The separation of our country did not represent unity or
form for America. The American currency did not have an identity until the National Banking Act of
1863, established the dollar as the currency of choice.
The currency that was used in most English colonies during the 1600s was coins. The Colonists of that
time would count their money based on the English system that consisted of shillings, pounds, and
pence that was valued as; twelve pence equaled a shilling and twelve shillings equaled a pound
(Walbert, David). The pence were also recognized to be a penny. The currency varied in each region
and some would only accept trade and not pence or schillings. One of the most common identities of
currency later became the Spanish dollar. After so many people had the dollars they become less in
value and caused inflation to the country and a new type of currency needed to be established for the
country.
During the late Colonial period in 1690, a decision was suggested that the Spanish dollar was no
longer of a great value and worth its weight in

How to Write a Compare and Contrast Essay
Instructions of How to Write a Compare and Contrast Essay
1
First look at the items you are supposed to compare and contrast. Do you understand them? If you are
writing an essay outside of class, look them up. Start with your text book but also look at your notes
from class, and even go and check them out at Wikipedia. If you are taking a test, and can t look
things up, pause and think over what these things mean. The next two steps will help you remember.
2
Make a list of ways the two items are the same. This is the compare part of a compare and contrast
essay. (For an in class essay, it will be good if you can bring in extra paper. If you can t, you can make
some notes on the back of your blue book.)

If you feel they are more different than the same, start by comparing the similarities.
7
Now get to your point of view. If you are writing a classic five paragraph essay you may want to
spend a whole paragraph pointing out what is wrong with the arguments you made for the other side.
If don t have to meet a specific number of paragraphs, you can just get straight to supporting your own
point of view. Look at your list items that support you, and write about them all, and why they are
important.
8
With compare and contrast essays, the conclusion will be a lot like the introduction. You summarize
what you just said. You may find that some points came up in writing that you hadn t put in your intro.
This is a good time to refer back to those.
9
If this is not an in class essay test, you should try to set the essay aside after you finish, so you can go
back later with your mind fresh. You may come up with a few other items you want to talk about on
your compare or contrast list. You may come up with a better way to write your introduction or
conclusion.
If you can master how to write compare and contrast essays, you will find that you can use that form
for a lot of other essays when the instructor doesn t give you a format.

Juan Ponce Dummon Research Paper
Juan Ponce de León
Born in Santervás de Campos, Spain, in 1460, Juan Ponce de León had sailed on expeditions with
Christopher Columbus, and then sailed to the New World on expeditions of his own later on. Although
most commonly known for his exploration for the Fountain of Youth, Ponce de León proved to be a
great explorer for having resolved the rebellion that had erupted in Hispaniola, but also discovering
Puerto Rico and Florida to add to his legacy and story.
In the early 1500 s, a rebellion occurred in the New World land of Hispaniola, Ponce de León was on
his second expedition to the New World with Columbus. The revolt that had occurred on the island
was by the slaves that had inhabited the island island when discovered. Ponce de León had
participated in the calming of the rebellion; in return for his efforts he was promoted to a military
commander, and received a large portion of the western part of the island to govern.
Juan Ponce had explored the idea of traveling to Puerto Rico when the natives, Taino Indians, of a
neighboring island had told him that the island had contained much gold, treasures, and fertile lands.
In 1508, Ponce de León had gained permission from Ferdinand II of Aragon to set sail to the island.

They would find gold, and a bay that would be well suited for settlement and would eventually

of the island to mine for the gold that remained on the island. When word got back to Spain that Ponce
de León had settled on the island, he received the title of Adelanto, or governor of Puerto Rico. He

Ohio State Scandal Case Study
In 2010 during the off season six Ohio State players traded Ohio State memorabilia, including: nine
Big Ten championship rings, 15 pairs of cleats, four jerseys, and one national championship ring for
tattoos and cash/trade. Altogether the estimated value of the Ohio State memorabilia given by the
players was $12,000 $15,000. After the 2010 season, heavy penalties, a player announced for the draft

here is how the NCAA is able to make money off of players, but the players cannot get any of the
money that the NCAA makes off of their talents. The way this ties into the OSU scandal, the items
that the police found in the raids, were personal to the players. One item that recovered: Gold Pants

trophies, rings, ect. for championships or yearly accomplishments, do they really belong to the players
if they can do what they wish with the items given to them? Everyone can make money off the athlete,
but the said athlete. If they are working to give their name a monetary value, then shouldn t they get
some kind of compensation? Which leads to another point, the NCAA bylaws are so autocratic that an

Letter Of Identification Essay
I am Sofia C. Smotek, professor of natural history. For a while now, people have been trying to
decipher cuneiform writing, and I have finally figured it out. People have been studying cuneiform
tablets and almost everyone ended up failing, but this is what I uncovered. The friged next door could
up his oxen today This is the writing that I uncovered in the tablet, however it isn t very clear, but
what I thought it meant was that a next door neighbor, friend or farmer would come over their house
and pick up his oxen that day. I am very positive about what I have uncovered and I am glad to share it
with you.
As you know, this project has taken me a very long time to decipher. The process that I used to figure
this out used a large amount of focus and patience. For all the people in history who have failed in this
project, probably didn t have enough patience or concentration to figure this out. All of those words
that I just said are a monumental part in figuring out natural history or really any kind of history. Also,
in my deciphering, the word friged is spelled incorrectly because the word that I uncovered wasn t
spelled as they wanted. They almost certainly wanted to say friend or even farmer . All this evidence
that I used to find what this meant has a big part in my process of how I deciphered the tablet. ... Show

another was t and o , that is why my theory of today being ooday was incorrect. On the other hand, the
tablet that I found was a little bit messy and was difficult to understand at first. Many words on the
tablet were very complex and didn t make much sense, as I said previously, this took much patience

  • 2. Action Against The Government Of Italy Francovich brought action against the government of Italy for failing to implement the Directive 80/987, that required the protection of employees in the event of their employer s insolvency. Francovich and other applicants were owed wages by their employers who became bankrupt. Since they could not sue their employers (because that would involve horizontal effect which is not possible with a Directive) they sued the Government of Italy which had failed to apply the Directive that aimed to create institutions for compensating employees. In the first claim the European Court found that the Directive lacked of direct effect. However, EU Law would be enfeebled if citizens could not acquire remedy when their rights were breached by a state failing to comply with the EU Law obligations. Eventually, the Court of Justice in the second claim, decided based on the Article 5 EC that Italy failed to satisfy its Treaty obligations. So, Francovich set the three conditions under which an individual who suffered a detriment could bring proceedings directly against the member state. The first condition is that the outcome prescribed by the directive involves the grant of rights to individuals, the second condition is that it is essential to identify the content of those rights from the directive and lastly the third condition is that there must be a causal link between the Member State s negligence and the detriment suffered by the individual. Nonetheless, the principle of state ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It has been proposed by them and others, that the Sumerian dialect was initially that of the seeker and fisher people groups, who lived in the marshland and the Eastern Arabia littoral locale, and were a piece of the Arabian bifacial culture. Reliable authentic records start much later; there are none in Sumer of any sort that have been dated before Enmebaragesi (c. 26th century BC). Juris Zarins trusts the Sumerians lived along the shoreline of Eastern Arabia, today s Persian Gulf district, before it overflowed toward the end of the Ice Age. Sumerian progress took frame in the Uruk period (fourth thousand years BC), proceeding into the Jemdet Nasr and Early Dynastic periods. Amid the third thousand years BC, a nearby social beneficial interaction created between the Sumerians, who talked a dialect segregate, and Akkadian speakers, which included far reaching bilingualism. Sumerian culture appears to have showed up as a full fledged progress, with no pre history. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 7. Essay about The Forbidding House It was a cold winter s night. The wind was whistling through the bare branches of the trees. The dead leaves were dancing noisily across pavements and all was still. That night I was walking down Old St.Paul s Road when the clouds started to build. I looked around as I huddled under a large, dead oak tree. I had noticed that almost all of the houses on this abandoned street were too badly damaged for us to take shelter in, except for one. Lightning split the night sky without a sound, illuminating the skeletal trees outside. The old Victorian house shook to its very foundations as the peal of thunder rumbled hatefully across the shimmering, tempestuous lake. Should I stay under the tree ... I slowly got up and my mind was focused on the thing I had seen upstairs. I then felt a cold breeze that made my bones shiver and hair stand up on end. A giant rat scampered across the floor; it s beady eyes glowed red in the flicker of the lantern light. It hissed at me. I dropped my lantern. Suddenly, I was plunged into utter darkness. I took several deep breaths to calm my trembling body and finished my trek up the stairs. Vivid flashes of lightning illuminated the attic. A vase lay in pieces in front of the broken window. Well, at least I knew what had caused the crash, I mused to myself. I found an old threadbare cloak hanging near the window. I now realised that is wasn t a person who I had seen but simply an old cloak. I suddenly tripped over a large box as I walked. The trunk wasn t locked, but age had rusted it shut. Native American casinos are exempt from federal regulations and are not required to pay any taxes on their revenues, but they are generally required to pay a percentage of their winnings to the state in which they are located. Native American casinos are likely going to increase their effect on the traditional casino industry. By adding more Native American casinos throughout the United States, locations such as Las Vegas and Atlantic City are likely to suffer because less people are going to be making the trips to one of these two competitive locations because they will be able to easily access a casino in their own backyard. Another potential sector of the casino industry is the availability of Internet gambling. This will provide casino consumers with the ability to place bets through home computers and gives them a potentially low cost business model for firms that already operate casinos. It is widely believed that gambling on the Internet will eventually be legalized, regulated, and taxed. The potential for growth in the casino industry seems unlimited. With hot tourist locations such as Las Vegas and Atlantic City, more and more Native American casinos, and the possibility of a legalized online gaming industry, large revenues for the casino industry seem inevitable. Serious thought, however, needs to be given to the

For nearly the first half of the twentieth century, from about 1915 to 1955, jazz was the dominant form of popular dance music in the United States. Jazz originated in major cities throughout the U.S. at the turn of the 20th century, primarily in the decade of 1920. Many of these changes were greatly influenced by jazz music. During this time, the country was coming out of World War I and the attitude of most people was dismal. Dance and music clubs became tremendously popular in an effort to improve the quality of life for many people. Jazz s influence on America could be described as a positive for cultural diversions. • 11. Final Reflection On Food Nourishment ACE 435 Final Reflection Jon and Rachel are awesome! Thank you all for a wonderful class! 1. Which guest speaker hosted in class this semester had the greatest impact on you? What did you learn from him/her and how might it affect your future? The topic that had the greatest impact on me is about food security by professor Michelson. In the lecture, we discussed the importance of food security, the trends of rising global food demand, factors that drives the expected demand increase, and also the relationship between income and food. The first question she came up with is why food security became such a major challenge worldwide? In my point of view, one of the simple reason is that everybody needs food. By answering this question, she introduced the definition of food security, and three hierarchical pillars. I learned that population growth, climate change, and water scarcity are some of the factor that cause food security became a problem. Also, as people become more affluent they start to change their tastes. For example, meat consumption in both developed and developing countries predict to increase while their income rise. Then we analyzed couple graph and table. In the over nourishment map, we found out that Europe, North America and Oceania seems waste the most food. In the map of meat demand driver, I learned that since two third of meat Chinese consume is pork, China actually consumes more total meat calories than US. Last but not least, professor Michelson introduced Engel s law and Bennett s law. Engel s law stated that as income increase, the portion of income spent on food falls, but the amount of money that expend on food might increase. Bennett s law stated that as income rises, the portion of starchy food in the diet falls. One of the interesting things I found out in her presentation is that if an average individual has an intake calories below 1690 1930 kcal per day, he or she is undernourished. I was shock by this information because I used to take around 1400 kcal per day, and I am actually undernourished if by this definition. After listened to professor Michelson s speech, I realized that feeding the people is one of the greatest challenged worldwide. The challenge is not only ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Living Conditions of Industrial Cities in the 19th Century What Were Living Conditions Like in 19th Century Industrial Cities? The living conditions in the Industrial Revolution varied from city to city depending on how much the factory owners cared for their workers or how much industry went on there. The Industrial Revolution gained pace during Victoria s reign because of the power of steam. Victorian engineers developed larger powerful machines that could run whole factories. This led to a massive increase in the number of factories. Despite the growing wealth due to trade and commerce, many of the working people, who actually produced the wealth, lived, worked and died in very poor conditions. The Industrial Revolution was stimulated by Britain s gargantuan empire and its growing level of trade. There was increased demand for the export of goods from Britain and greater pressure on importing goods into Britain. The industrialisation of Britain s towns and cities had a detrimental effect on the people who came to live there. Living conditions in the 1800s were incredibly unequal. The rich and powerful factory owners would live out in the quiet peaceful countryside with lots of creature comforts, whilst their workers would return into smelly, dirty and minuscule back to back terraces at the end of a long working day. These homes were usually built with no inside toilets or running water. People either washed in a tin bath or at a pump outside. Many people decided not to wash at all as it was the easiest option. Red Blood Cells Red blood cell From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia [pic] Human red blood cells (6 8μm) Red blood cells (also referred to as erythrocytes) are the most common type of blood cell and the vertebrateorganism s principal means of delivering oxygen (O2) to the body tissues via the blood flow through thecirculatory system. They take up oxygen in the lungs or gills and release it while squeezing through the body scapillaries. These cells cytoplasm is rich in hemoglobin, an iron containing biomolecule that can bind oxygen and is responsible for the blood s red color. These functions are highly dependent on its composition, which defines its properties. The red blood cell membrane is composed of 3 layers: the glycocalyx on the exterior, which is rich in carbohydrates; the lipid bilayer which contains many transmembrane proteins, besides its lipidic main constituents; and the membrane skeleton, a structural network of proteins located on the inner surface of the lipid bilayer. In human erythrocytes, like in most mammal erythrocytes, half of the membrane mass is represented by proteins and the other half are lipids, namely phospholipids and cholesterol.[29] [edit]Membrane lipids [pic] [pic] The most common erythrocyte cell membrane lipids, schematically disposed as they are distributed on the bilayer. • 16. Violent Video Games And Aggression Analysis Since their appearance in the market, video games are the often the subject of moral debates. Parents are afraid they will influence their children to act out and commit crimes. Mental health professionals worry they ll impact psychological development. In most cases, this is the result of the need of a scapegoat. People need something to blame for the wrong they observe in the immediate world around them. Video games follow rock n roll, comic books, and even radio in a long list of sources of moral panic. There is no evidence to support the claim that they are, without a doubt, the reason for violent crime in teens. Studies into the effects of violent video games on teenage behavior stem back decades. Yet no study has isolated video games as being the sole contributor to juvenile violence. Consumption of video games continues to rise, while violent crimes committed by teens are in decline. Total video game sales in the US increased 204% from 1994 to 2014. Meanwhile, murders committed by juveniles acting alone fell 76% in that same period (1). If the claims of critics were valid, then what should be happening is an increase in teenage crime. As ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s questionable to claim that video games alone could turn a previously upstanding teen into a delinquent. A three year study conducted by psychology professor Christopher J. Ferguson saw the effects of violent video games on aggression vanish when adjusted to how the games are played in real life. In addition, to narrow the research only four Elizabethan poets, who were specialised in religious poetry. Poets such as John Donne, George Herbert, Mary Sidney Herbert and Aemelia Lanyer. In addition, Mary Sidney Herbert raised as a Calvinist also uses devotional language in her psalms, yet she uses a more masculine and aggressive tone to express her anger on the original sin. Lastly, Amelia lanyer raised as protestant who has written feminist poetry that uses a gentle, passive tone than Sidney. Her approach in describing Eve as the best woman of the creation. Thus, Lanyer poetry is more feministic but also argumentive in defending women. In the book English Poetry of the Sixteenth century Gary Waller speaks about how poetry is male centred; In such a society, and within such a philosophy of love, both so male centred, (1986:2) This shows how patriarchal certain Elizabethan poems were but the religious poetry is different according to change in gender roles. This section describes an overview of all fundamental processes in our brain diseases classification system. Clustering is the process of classifies objects into different groups and classes. In clustering the data is classified according to a common features shared between the object and the target class. The process of portioning data into a number of subsets is often referred to as supervised learning or clustering. K means is one of clustering techniques designed and used in many approaches [4]. K means is generally used to determine the natural groupings of pixels present in an image. K means is considered to be one of the best unsupervised clustering and classification techniques, also it s considered a very fast technique compared with other algorithms. The aim of using K means is to classify each pixel to it s one or more data classes by calculating the distance between the input pixel with the other pixels in the clustering window. Fig.5 shows the result of applying the clustering technique on an MRI image containing tumor and the resulted image showing the image after extracting the tumor region only without any noise or other regions. 3.3 Feature Extractions Once we get the tumor region now we can get some features from the segmented image that can help us in classifying the disease that the MRI image suffers from. A New Concept IAQ is not a new concept, consider our ancestors living in caves and the impact from smoke pollutions or in ancient Egypt stonemasons working in the open air were healthier than those working in workshop. Even Biblical scripts refer to the dangers of mould in the home. However, there have been four fundamental developments that have occurred in the last forty five years (Lee, et al., 1996): The increased time spent within indoor environments. The increased dependency on artificial products (building materials and finishes, scents, furniture). The increased occupancy density (open plan offices, reduction of working space). Advancements of energy conservation techniques (air tight buildings, re circulated air, reduced ventilation). A growing body of scientific evidence has indicated that the air within buildings can be more seriously polluted than the outdoor air in even the largest and most industrialized cities. • 23. Analysis Of Alice ; S Change In Attitude In Alice Walker s... However, Alice begins to realize the dynamics as the story progresses and new experiences emerge. I feel that Alice s change in attitude is Carroll s way of insinuating the ridiculousness or hypocrisy in the adult s and society s standard way of thinking. The first scene where the reader sees Alice take hold of her authority is when she becomes incredibly big at the White Rabbit s House. I feel that this scene is very significant because it shows how the shift in Alice s character is set up. In order for Alice to stand up against the Rabbit, she had to become bigger in size. I believe that this scene is a metaphor to how Carroll viewed the ridiculousness of how most adults viewed children, and was a way to show children reading the novel that one day they too will grow bigger in size and have the upper hand on the older adults. This scene also shows the fragility of the power dynamics. Carroll is insinuating that this idea that adults are more knowledgeable or superior because they are bigger than a child is nonsenses and can easily be altered. Once Alice realized she has the authority in herself, the entire dynamics of the story changes. Ren even states, in spite of the awkward inconvenience, (Alice) enjoys her large body size, for it gives her power to fight back (Ren 4). As a citizen of a civilized country, I believe the civil authorities have the right and it is their duty to do whatever is within their legal authority to protect our way of life. At this time an ongoing debate in our political discourse is the concern for privacy rights versus the concern for national security. Benjamin Franklin once said Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety . I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment, as Americans, we are guaranteed the right and the protection under the constitution to our privacy. During the digital age, social media has exploded and caused all of us as a society to question the difference between private and public information. I believe private information is one that is not shared explicitly by an individual, therefore entitling the information to all the protections guaranteed by our constitution. However, I believe once an individual decides to post private information on a public social media platform that information is no longer private and grants the civil authorities the legal power to access it. This only brings to attention that although society says you may not force others to follow your religion, it is not looked down upon to practice a religion in the presence of people who believe differently. The Supreme Court of the US has confirmed this multiple times. In addition, the Pledge of Allegiance is recited only as an act of patriotism and as a way to honor those who have fought for the freedom we have graciously been provided. The addition of the phrase was not to provoke argument, but to separate us from other countries and to highlight our differences from others through our past; to show the principles our country was founded on. Most importantly, there is the blatant fact that the pledge is completely voluntary. Due to our daily recitation, some might be given the impression that we re a Christian nation, not knowing the facts. Overall, the phrase has been tried a countless number of times in the Supreme Court, without failure; it has historic value that no one can take away from it; and, most importantly, participation in reciting the Pledge is completely voluntary, making the Pledge of Allegiance not only legal in all respects, but also deserving of our recitation in public schools daily. For the statute to be invoked in the first place the defendant must have had a face to face with it s accusers, and also that the state s showing of expert testimony was insufficient in order to comply with regulations required in Coy v Iowa (1988), which was a similar case to this one but the main difference was that there was a curtain to conceal the child victim instead of a one way closed circuit camera, therefore the defendant s constitutional rights were violated by not being provided that right. As the brain progresses through the stages of development, one of the things that really helps to have it develop right is music. Have you ever noticed how expecting mothers listen to music during pregnancy. This has many benefits, for one it helps the child bond with the mother, knowing her type of music and getting to know what she likes and her strengths and weaknesses. This makes for a stronger bond with the mother. It also helps with the development of the child, finding joy in music and understanding the awesome power of it. Using a reading from class, I am able to understand how social constructions of gender is able to vary cross culturally. The Berdache Tradition explains the difference between sex and gender. Sex is a biological form when gender can be perceived more as a choice. Meaning, there are more than two genders. It is able to be varied among cultures. In the reading, men played a third gender, doing housework. In some of the cultures, the berdache is able to become a wife to a man. This ties in to a Leinaweavers work of a child of circulation. Many Native Americans were able to understand that gender roles had to do with more than just a biological sex. Individuals were a part of the natural order of the universe itself, with something special to contribute. It was extremely important for women to produce male children. When a man s wife did not have a male, it was seen as shameful. Giving birth to a girl was seen as an embarrassment and disgrace. After giving birth to a daughter, a mother would turn her head away from her husband in shame (Demand, p. 6). This person, or confidante, must be willing to listen to and provide helpful thoughts and feedback. In Pride and Prejudice, a novel by Jane Austen, Elizabeth Bennet is a heroine who is in desperate need of a confidante. Jane Bennet, Elizabeth s kind and honest sister, becomes that person Lizzy needs when she is feeling flustered. Jane perfectly fits the criteria of a confidante because she is optimistic and sanguine, in which she can provide Elizabeth a different, more positive, approach to her problems. Although it may seem to the reader that Jane is idealistic or dishonest, she really says what is on her mind. Jane truly believes all people are good spirited and that she will never be deceived by anyone. In this way, the author uses Jane Bennet to give the reader a different perspective of a certain character in the story: while Elizabeth is always criticizing the many characters in this novel, Jane is there to deliver a contradictory statement about those characters. Mr. Wickham reveals to Elizabeth that Mr. Darcy had prevented him from joining the ministry by refusing to supply the money Darcy s father had intended to provide for Wickham. Upon hearing these revealing statements about Mr. Darcy, Elizabeth is appalled and outraged at how selfish a man can be. Elizabeth then relates to Jane about what she had discovered about Mr. Darcy but Jane provides her and the reader with a different, more optimistic point of view: It is impossible. No man of common humanity, no man who had any value for his character, could be capable of it. Can his most intimate friends be so excessively deceived in him? Oh! no (Austen 74). Elizabeth s decision to believe Mr. Wickham originates her prejudice towards Mr. Darcy into the novel. However, in the end, the reader finds out that Jane had actually been correct in that Darcy can never have done such a horrible thing and that he had actually given Wickham the money his father left for him. (2009)) However, looking deeper, an increase, in particular, in the share of domestic banks in the investor base may threaten domestic financial stability and increase the sovereign bank nexus, increasing borrowing costs and even in extreme cases leading to self fulfilling debt crisis. (Adler, (2012); Acharya et. al. (2013)) Refinancing Risk Some studies show that a rising share of foreign investors in the investor base increases governments refinancing risk. In particular, foreign non bank investors can be less stable source of funding for sovereigns because they can invest in broader pool of assets, thus can easily stop rolling over or can sell the debt in cases of sovereign shocks. (Arslanalp and Tsuda (2012)) Additionally, some advanced economies might be hit by sudden stops in foreign funding also as a result of global risk aversion shift. (Calvo and Talvi (2005)) Do foreign investors matter? Indeed, the composition of the investor base matters, in particular a decline in foreign demand matters for both borrowing costs and refinancing risk. However, the interesting observation is that such foreign investor demand decline has had significant implications for some countries such as the high spread euro countries (GIIPS) while very little effect for other countries such as Switzerland, Australia, and US. This leads to the conclusion that some advanced economies (e.g. high spread euro economies) are more vulnerable to changes in the sovereign debt share by foreign ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The pence were also recognized to be a penny. The currency varied in each region and some would only accept trade and not pence or schillings. One of the most common identities of currency later became the Spanish dollar. After so many people had the dollars they become less in value and caused inflation to the country and a new type of currency needed to be established for the country.
