The Current Staff
Problem Strategy In observing the Dept. of Motor Vehicles transaction process, it demonstrates a
complicated and redundant registration structure. In the licensing center, drivers must navigate the
decentralized facility, moving from station to station with documents and verification forms
(Dresang, 2012). In this situation, the driver must have the correct paperwork and follow the right
line order or risk restarting the process. Therefore, the DMV must consider training current
employees to process all required paperwork and payments as well as provide license plates. As a
result, the registration process is centralized and streamlined because the organization creates a one
stop processing center.
Feasibility The training of the current staff involves an individualistic level change, where the
organization focuses on improving employees to create an efficient processing system (Miller,
2002). In creating a centralized process, it requires significant staff training and development. The
Human Resources (HR) department will analyze the workload, environment, and schedules to
create training plans [in house training videos, manuals, and on site instructions] and adjust job
descriptions and offer compensation. The organization will provide cross training and manage the
employee s knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the new task and adhere to new policies. As a
result, it takes a few months, approximately six months, for crossed trained employees to

Wal Mart Stock Analysis Essay
I. Executive Summary
The purpose of this report is to evaluate the stock price of Wal Mart Stores Inc. (which ticker
symbol in NYSE is WMT) by fundamental analysis. According to this analysis, I recommend that
Wal Mart is worth to invest in the long term because of the potential growth of market shares and
revenue. Besides, based on P/E method and Gordon model, WMT price is undervalued; therefore,
if investors buy the stock, they will get benefit not only in capital gain but also in dividend cash
inflow.
II. Introduction of Wal Mart Stores Inc. (WMT)
Wal Mart, founded by Sam Walton in 1962, is the world s largest retailer and public corporation. It
operates over 6,500 stores worldwide, employs 1.9 million associates, and serves more ... Show

Beta is the slope of the characteristic line. As shown in appendix1, we use the monthly historical
data from April 2003 to April 2008 to graph SCL. We use S P 500 as the market because it contains
the stocks of 500 Large Cap corporations and can reflect the market change broadly. As shown in
exhibit 1, we can get the SCL: Ri Rf = 0.001 + 0.1649(Rm Rf). So the beta is 0.1649 and the alpha
(intercept) is 0.001. From the regression line, we find the R square is only 0.103. It reflects the
degree that X variable explains Y variable is 10.3%. That is, Ri Rf has no close relationship with
Rm Rf. In addition, due to the fact that beta is only 0.1649, it also provides the same result
which Ri Rf and Rm Rf have no strong positive relationship. It is a good issue to consider why Wal
Mart stock return does not relate with S P 500 return very well. From exhibit 2, we find the Wal
Mart price did not change very much while S P 500 price went up. The major reasons may be that
S P 500 includes many high tech stocks and those stocks performed very well during the period;
therefore the volatility is greater than Wal Mart. Moreover, maybe Wal Mart has lower weight in S
P 500 so its trend of price change is different from S P 500. From exhibit2, we also find Wal Mart
had good relationship with S P 500 before 2004. To examine the situation, we use the data from
1998 to 2003 and find the SCL

The French Revolution And Its Effect On British Political...
What, if anything, was achieved by extra parliamentary protest in the years 1790 1819?
Radicalism was alive in Britain from the late eighteenth century, yet Parliament resolutely refused to
reform itself until the late 1830s. It is therefore tempting to dismiss extra parliamentary protest
during this period as having failed to bring about any substantial reform in the face of Government
repression.
The French Revolution had a dramatic impact on British political life from the onset of its eruption
in 1789.
In November 1790, Edmund Burke published Reflections on the Revolution in France . Burke was
not opposed to reform but he defended Britain s existing constitution on the grounds that it had
grown organically out of Britain s unique history. In his book he maintained that government
derived its authority from custom and tradition, not from the consent of the governed. He
celebrated the rule of the monarchy and aristocracy, feeling that moderate reform would lead to
violent revolution similar to that in France and so the system had to be defended to protect it from
destruction.
On the other hand, many people were excited by the events taking place in France. By far the most
influential response to Burke s book was Thomas Paine s The Rights of Man (first published in
1791) in which he laid out the ideological basis for republican reform. In the first volume he
applauded the changes in France and dismissed Burke s insistence on the need to follow tradition,

Aviation Technician Research Paper
I was the one who love to work with my hands and as a kid, my parents would get mad at me
because I would take things apart, but I wouldn t understand how to put things back together and
I ll have a bunch of parts. Well as I grew older I started working on cars and I would take it apart,
but this time I knew how to fix it. The struggle of figuring out what parts go where, a big puzzle,
and then the enjoyment of hearing the motor roaring and the rumble of the exhaust, having that
feeling like wow I just built that and look at it now. In this essay, I will explain what I wantto do for
my future career and what is required to succeed in my dreams.
I am thinking about becoming an aviation technician. The average rate a technician gets paid is
about $28.98 per hour and about $60,270 per year. The employment rate is about 7 percent, so it
will take a lot of work for me to get to where I would like to be. (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistic)
As an aviation technician, I will be working to service, repair, and overhaul aircraft components and
systems, building airframe, working with different types of engine from piston, turbine and jet,

in place to implement and managing the National Labor Relations Act (Pozgar, 2015). This
purpose of the act is to direct the labor management affairs of business firms that employ in
interstate trade (Pozgar, 2015). So for example, in the introduction of chapter 20 we read that
supervisors are harassing employees regarding in participating and voting in union meetings

Forensic Evidence Admissibility For or Against in the...
In this position paper I have chosen Bloodsworth v. State ~ 76 Md.App. 23, 543 A.2d 382 case to
discuss on whether or not the forensic evidence that was submitted for this case should have been
admissible or not. To understand whether or not the evidence should be admissible or not we first
have to know what the case is about.
This case started on July 25, 1984, with the death of a nine year old girl by the name of Dawn
Hamilton. The story plays out as follows: Dawn approached two boys and an adult male that
were fishing at a pond in a wooded area near Golden Ring Mall in eastern Baltimore, Maryland.
Dawn asked the boys to help her find her cousin, they declined the adult male however agreed to
help her look. This was the last time anyone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It seems that they got tunnel view when it came to Bloodsworth and were going to make the
evidence stick one way or another. This is made evident in the fact that Bloodsworth was the only
suspect that they looked at for the crime. They never investigated any other leads to the crime.
They even did not take into account that Bloodsworth in no way resembled the description that
was given to police by the witnesses at first. It is quite funny the sketch that was done by a police
sketch artist resembles Bloodsworth their prime suspect at this time. A sketch mind you that the
witnesses said did not look like the person they saw. I find it also odd that two of the witnesses did
not pick put Bloodsworth at first, it was not until later that they had time to think that Bloodsworth
was the one that they saw. While we are on the subject the police ruled out a potential suspect his
demographical features did not meet the description that was given by the witnesses. How odd one
suspect is ruled out by demographical features but one is not.
In March of 1985, Bloodsworth was sentenced to death. Through it all Bloodsworth maintained
his innocence and in 1993 with the help of a new technique used to test for DNA, Bloodsworth
got his chance to prove he was innocent. Bloodsworth became the first person ever to be
exonerated from death row by DNA evidence. (Jain, 2001) In one

The Kindertransport Missions
The Kindertransport missions were an attempt at rescuing German children from the horrors of the
Holocaust ( Kindertransport, 1938 1940 ). The nazis burned Jewish synagogues, orphanages, and
other Jewish buildings (Ward). Organizations wanted to do everything in their power to protect
the children from these terrible things. While these worked for many children, there were still
several that had to suffer. Many of the Jews were separated from their families forcefully by Hitler
and the Nazis. Jews were also sent to concentration camps where they were often tortured and killed
by genocide. During the Holocaust, orphanages were burned down, children and parents were
separated from each other, and rescue missions took place. The Kindertransport... Show more

The children continued to be effected, there were just less frequent reports of children being
physically harmed. Some of the teenage boys who were transported fought against their home
country, Germany, in World War II (Ward). Due to this, some of the boys were often killed during
combat. The original plan was to prevent the transports from being injured. This was effective
for the majority of the time although, some were still injured. There was no way to keep every
child 100% safe. Homes were promised to the transports by The Movement for the Care of
Children from Germany. There were fears that many of the transports would not have homes
due to the amount of children being transported at once. These fears slowly faded as different
groups and organizations promised to find and provide a place to stay for every transported
child. To ensure the safety of the children while on the train, soldiers searched every transports
belongings before they were allowed to enter the train (Ward). Bags were checked for any
weapons or suspicious items that could be used to harm another individual. The soldiers wanted to
fulfill their job and do their best by making sure that every child that entered the transports made it
safely off. While the children were still psychologically effected, they were mostly protected from

Reaction Paper On Anger
Anger is a common reaction that can aid individuals in relieving stress, and expressing emotions.
Experiencing anger is normal, and at times, the appropriate response. When accomplished
appropriately, anger can be an important tool used by a healthy adult. But anger has risks, perhaps
more than any other emotion, it can isolate people from other adults and lead individuals to engage
in behavior they may later regret. Angercan be manifested through a variety of ways, including
physical violence, verbal profanity and internal frustrations. Anger can be the result of sadness,
fear, or an overall inability to effectively cope with the struggles of everyday life. Writer had the
experience of interacting with a client, TR, who was in the middle of an anger outburst, due to
behavior of a staff member.
Writer had met with TR a few times prior to this incident, a rapport had been built and TR felt
comfortable enough to approach writer. When approached by TR, writer used facilitative skills to
notice body language. TR s teeth were clenched, his hands were clenched in a fist and his tone was
loud and sharp. TR was upset with how a staff member treated another client. Taking knowledge of
defense mechanisms into account writer was able to surmise that this anger was an example of
displacement from one staff member to another. In Freudian psychology, displacement is the
redirection of an impulse, usually aggression, onto a powerless substitute target. The target can be a

Alcohol advertising targets underage people Advertisements of alcohol catch the attention of many
underage people and high school students. Drinking at a young age can be a major health concern.
Underage drinking can result in negative consequences, including poor grades, risky sex, alcohol
addiction, and car crashes. Alcohol beverages and advertisements on social media attracts many
young kids. Alcohol advertisements shouldn t be shown to underage people. In most families
parents allow their kids to drink or watch them drink. Parents will do their best to keep kids from
seeing alcohol advertisements. Alcohol marketers will do anything to promote their products.
Young kids like to see music, animal s, people s story and humor in alcohol advertisements.
Minors who see plenty of alcohol ads on television most likely have tried alcohol and binge drink
than those who don t see the ads. Many children around the world start to drink at a really young
age. Young people like to tell their drinking stories and post pictures of them drinking alcohol of

Personal Integrity In The Blue Hotel And Tennessee s Partner
There are many themes evident in both Stephen Crane s The Blue Hotel and Bret Harte s
Tennessee s Partner; some of these themes are easily recognizable while recognition of the others
depends on the perception of the reader. The two stories share the theme of personal integrity and
that all actions have consequences; however, there are several themes that are unique to each story
that the readercan latch on to. The plotand storyline of Tennessee s Partner are straightforward, but
after reading Crane s The Blue Hotel, one can imagine many different plots that could have taken
place throughout the story. Through imagery, the reader can take what each author presents and let
his or her imagination run wild; there is not a set feeling or reaction that either author intends for
the reader to have after reading.
Personal integrity can be seen in both stories between the characters Tennessee s Partner and The
Easterner. Tennessee s partner is integral because he never left his friend behind, even after he
had done him wrong. He was always there for Tennessee and never betrayed him. The Easterner
shows his integrity when he tells the truth about Johnnie and feels guilty about the situation with
the Swede; most people would have shrugged it off so that they did not have to deal with it but
he chose to speak up. Both of these forms of integrity show the true moral values of each
character, each example gives us a better idea of what it s like to be integrin.

The Physical And Emotional Development
outdoor play area is also paramount to augment the indoor area. The physical and emotional
development is no less important as cognitive development. Children enjoy playing outside;
therefore, confining a child to a hospital bed for the duration of his or her recovery would stifle
the recovery progress and make a traumatic experience an emotional nightmare. A child that is
surrounded by medical equipment in his or her hospital room may develop anxiety and fear that
can slow recovery (Arkansas Children s Hospital, 2016). It must be conveyed to the stakeholders
that a natural playareamay improve the recovery time of a child suffering from injuries. Children
involved in serious injuries may have a sibling that visits him or her in the hospital. The hospital
may be just as frightening for the sibling as it is for the injured child. A hospital that has a common
outdoor playarea could alleviate the emotional stress for the siblings visiting loved ones in the
hospital. In fact, stress can be a definitive barrier to wellness and recuperating (Feldman, 2016).
A hospital that has an outdoor play area could use this area for young siblings to meet, instead of
in a room full of medical equipment. An outside play area for a hospital would have to be planned
meticulously for safety concerns. It should not be open to the general public and should only be
accessed through the hospital. The play area, weather covered or not, would be sensitive to bad
weather and daylight hours;

Zefferelli s Interpretation Of Romeo And Juliet
The original death scene in the play by Shakespeare was a major part of the story and people
have remade this scene in many different ways. Some good interpretations of this scene are
Romeo and Juliet (The shakespeare version), Romeo and Juliet (the Zefferelli version), and a
piece of art called Romeo and Juliet: the Tomb Scene By Joseph Wright. Although these are
accurate interpretations they have their differences. In the text Shakespeare puts a lot of
emphasis on the role that fate plays in the way that Romeo and Juliet s unfortunate end. He does
this to show that love conquers hate and that sometimes it takes a terrible event to stop the
conflicts of the people that need it. Romeo there dead, was husband to that Juliet; and she, there
dead, that Romeo s faithful wife. (Shakespeare 104) The death scene elaborates on this because if
only one thing was changed their deaths could have been prevented and this whole ordeal wouldn
t have been happening. This is very frustrating to the reader and demonstrates the effect that fate
had on this whole situation. In this scene Shakespeare Romeo speaks a lot of his sorrow and this
is pushed on the readers as they read the final scene.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This tells the viewer that the couple is together even in death and it gives comfort to them,
knowing that they are still together. He sticks pretty true to the text in this scene except for that

death. The director does this to emphasize how innocent Romeo is and that he only wants to see his

This essay will look at the concept and practice of relational aesthetics, critically analyze its
usefulness in curating an exhibition. Firstly, I will discuss the historical development and make
definitions of relational aesthetics. Secondly, I will focus on one unique project: that of A Better
Tomorrow, at Yan Club Art Center on July 21, 2013, produced by Fong. Finally, I will explore this
project in its conception and execution, compare Mainland China with Hong Kong artists and
artworks, explain to what extent the relational aesthetics plays a significant role in the exhibition.

many love stories originate from previously existed love, as either to continue the story or to
improve on the story line or even just to recreate the story/play into a movie. There are many
successful remakes of plays and some that did not work out, as they did not contain the deep roots
and meanings of the original play/ story. Many Shakespearian plays and stories were recreated into

Ellen DeGeneres
Ellen DeGeneres is a celebrity many of us know. We know that she hosts a television show and
makes people laugh. She looks like she has it all together but, do you really know how she came to
be the Ellen DeGeneres we know?
On January 26, 1958, 58 years ago, DeGeneres was born into the world. She was welcomed by
parents, Betty and Elliot DeGeneres and by brother, Vance. She lived a pretty normal childhood,
spending her days either at school or out on the wild streets of New Orleans. Unfortunately,
DeGeneres parents decided to divorce when she was thirteen. Her calm childhood was now the
complete opposite. DeGeneres, her mother, Betty and Vance all moved to Atlanta Texas. She
finished her schooling in Texas before final deciding to return to New Orleans.

We often laugh when we see something funny or amusing. In context of informal situation with my

caught my attention and it is indeed sounds politer to me. Therefore, I have been using amusing in
formal context when I meet new people as well as my superior. The problem is, it is correct to make
a statement that amusing is for formal situation and funny for the informal situation. Are there any

According to Hanks (2012), corpus linguistics is primarily concerned with interpreting observed
language in order to arrive at statements on patterns in word meaning or syntactic composition.
Collocations was first brought up by Palmer (1933) in English language teaching. However, in
1957, Firth introduced collocations to the theoretical linguistics. Collocations are pervasive in texts
of all genres and domains. Collocation can be defined as the grammatical company a word keeps
and the positions it refers (Hoey, 2005).
English is rich in synonyms and it often become a great challenge for EFL (English as Foreign
Language) learners. Church (1994) in his article did a lexical substitutability test in a corpus study
of the near synonyms ask for, request and demand, which results the same finding: the
substitutability of lexical items in the same linguistic context constitutes a good indicator of their
semantic similarity.

A Summary On Corporate Governance
Like de Kluyver argued in his publish (A primer on Corporate Governance, 2009), there is a
presumption that, in making a business decision, the directors acted on an informed basis, in good
faith, and in the honest belief that the action was taken in the best interest of the corporation.
However, even though the bar has been set, the definition of best interest of the corporation is open
for every business directors to interpret. In the case of Enron, the rule had been bent so hard that it
finally broke. The company was originally established as an energy provider in the US. In 1970s,
the CEO of Enron seized the chance of US energy market deregulation and navigated the company
into a new and attractive business energy trading.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of the massive company structure, when the bubble broke in 2001, a numerous amount of
people took the hit. The stockholders of Enron scandal include company employees, board of
directors, Arthur Anderson accounting firm, Vinson Elkins law firm, and the general public of the
society.
There were specific internal control protocols and external audit agreements designed to prevent
the tragic from happening. However, just like my classmate Likhita said during the class
discussion (Thought and Discourse, September 16, 2015), People will always find the loophole .
In terms of internal control failing, first of all, the malfunction of the board of directors would be
our primary concern. Enron Board of Directors clearly failed to oversight company operations. In
United States Senate Subcommittee report (The role of the board of the directors in Enron s
collapse, Permanent subcommittee on investigations, 2002), committee memebrs indicated that
The Board witnessed numerous indications of questionable practices by Enron management over
several years, but chose to ignore them to the detriment of Enron shareholders, employees and
business associates. Moreover, the Board of Directors directly violated Enron s code of ethics and

Characteristics Of Malignant Hyperthermia ( Mh )
Abstract
Malignant Hyperthermia (MH) is a genetically inherited, pharmacogenic disorder involving a severe
malfunction within the skeletal muscles, causing them to be stuck in a contracted state. It is found
to be triggered in susceptible patients by the administration of certain anesthetic agents during and
after surgical procedures. It may also be activated by the use of other drugs, such as muscle
relaxants and triggered by other circumstances such as stress, trauma, and even exercising. Not
only are the muscles normal physiology affected, but abnormalities of the whole body occur
disrupting its natural homeostasis. If it is not treated immediately, it can be fatal. Susceptibility
is found in patients who have had a known family history of MH. In order for a medical
professional or a patient to be prepared to handle MH one must understand how it affects the
normal physiology of the body, what signs to look for, and how it can be diagnosed, treated, and
prevented. There is no cure for MH, but there are specific drugs and precautionary measures that
are used to prevent and treat it when a patient is susceptible.
A Brief Overview of Malignant Hyperthermia
Malignant Hyperthermia is a life threatening, genetic disorder that involves the skeletal muscles. It
commonly occurs intraoperatively and postoperatively when inhalant agents such as halothane,
enflurane, and isoflurane are used, as well as some muscle relaxants such as succinylcholine and
curare. It

Using the roster from maxpreps.com
Last night I ventured from Bellaire to Corning to take in the Crestline at Miller game not knowing
what to expect, mostly because I had no knowledge of Crestline other then their record going in to
this one(3 2).
The stadium is very, very old school, with little seating. For some reason this works for the very
passionate Falcons fans and for me I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The only down fall was the white
off colored scoreboard, that you could not see until the sun went down.
This one was a six all tie at one time, then the Falcons soared to forty one straight points. Leading
the way was their talented quarterback

The point extra was missed and this one was locked up, with a little over 7:00 left.
Miller would score on the ensuing kickoff but not in the traditional way. Eveland fielded the ball
and then took it close to the 5 yard line and the ball skidded into the end zone, where #10 Zach

times.
Later in the opening quarter the Bulldogs were forced to punt and things did not go well for
them. The snap was over #30 Dakota Wireman head and rolled 20 yards behind him, where he
did all he could by falling on the ball. Things were just starting to get bad for the Bulldogs. We at
time had no clue to just how bad.
Compston would take the handoff from his quarterback and pick up 9 yards. He carried the pile
about five yard on the run as he showed a lot of lower body strength and true American grit, much
like John Wayne did back in the good old days.
The drive ended with a little under 4:00 minutes left in the quarter, when Bartley plowed in from a
yard out to make this a 19 6 game. The point after kick was god again and this was a20 6 game.

Decision Of Philadelphia The Constitutional Convention Of...
In the book Decision in Philadelphia the Constitutional Convention of 1787 by Christopher Collier
and James Collier present an exclusive glance at the creating of the Constitution and the events that
made the Constitution the way people know it today. Christopher and James Collier begin with
historical events that led up to Constitutional creation and a brief summation of the events that were
taking place in the country during that time frame. The background that they give provides a good
base for the information and allows the reader to see things through the eyes of someone living in
the time. During that period, there were many challenges facing America at the time that would
have collision on the constitutional convention and the outcomes that would shape the country.
One of them being that there was very poor transportation routes and that adversely affected
communications. For example the authors quote The few interstate roads that existed were
frequently nothing more than mile upon mile of mud wallow, cut by hundreds of streams, creeks,
and rivers, most of which were unbridged, so they had to be forded, or crossed by ferry (Collier,
1986, p.14). As a result, due to a lack of this foundation it was very challenging and time
consuming for the citizens with travel and communication and diversity was usually unfamiliar to
people. At the time people also faced challenges such as the country was divided by religion, ethics,
language differences, and majorly economic

The Pros And Cons Of High School Athletes
Athletes Yes or No There has been many occasions where high school teachers have to make a
hard decision when an athlete is failing, what should they do. I believe that no high school athlete
deserves any help from their teachers in order to play. They should be able to complete the
circumstances needed in school if they truly wanted to play the sport these athletes are in. If this
idea was allowed in high schoolwhat will happen to these kids later on in life like in college, will
they be able to accomplish the goals at that point when it matters most? Many high schools and
teachers don t realize the damage they can do to these athletes if they do give them those couple
extra points to play. According to a website, Any student should have good grades to play sports.
Even if you are a great athlete, you will probably not get a full athletic scholarship. Having good
grades can lessen your stress about affording college ( psychologytoday.com ). In this case, what
teachers don t know is not only are they making that athlete happy to play, but at the same time
you are hurting that person for future references, when later in their future college sees the kind
of grades that athlete is getting he may not be the kind of fit for whichever school that may be.
Overall any student that has failed a class and is not able to play that athlete shouldn t be able to
play at all. If an athlete is not able to be responsible to keep his grades up what makes a coach think

Essay about Jonathan Kozol s Amazing Grace
Jonathan Kozol s Amazing Grace
While reading Amazing Grace, one is unable to escape the seemingly endless tales of hardship and
pain. The setting behind this gripping story is the South Bronx of New York City, with the main
focus on the Mott Haven housing project and its surrounding neighborhood. Here black and
Hispanic families try to cope with the disparity that surrounds them. Mott Haven is a place where
children must place in the hallways of the building, because playing outside is to much of a risk.
The building is filled with rats and cockroaches in the summer, and lacks heat and decent water in
the winter. This picture of the ghetto is not one of hope, but one of fear. Even the hospitals

Like most of the children in this society, Cliffie is forced to understand and deal with things that

such innocence, but with such understanding and clarity it is alarming. It is as if by hanging on to

Persuasive Speech On Aliens Are Real

Aliens. Aliens are real because of all the evidence they had found about them. Some people
believe that aliens are fake because they think all the evidence and the stories people tell are
fake. My opinion is that Aliens do exist in this world and trying to learn more about us. Here is
some evidence that I think they are real. Witnesses say that they had seen UFO and have

Discrimination at Workplace
Discrimination at workplace
In the USA there has been the problem of discrimination at places of work against people with
disability, based on race, sex, religion in almost all quarters and this has prompted quite a number
of legislations and acts to be passed in a bid to guarantee the people the access and right to use and
utilize all the public amenities as well as get the right and equal treatment as an American.
Vivian Pearson (2012) notes that the federal law prohibits the employer from making hiring or
firing decision based on the gender, race, religion, marital status, age, country of origin or even
membership in a labor union. The specific federal laws that govern the hiring and firing of
employees as well as discrimination of employees at work place are Title VII of the Civil Rights
Act of 1964, Title I and Title V of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Age Discrimination
in Employment Act of 1967, as well as the Civil Rights Act of 1991, collectively the are referred to
as the Federal Equal Employment Opportunity laws. The well known Americans with Disabilities
Act (ADA) outlines the various provisions that are formatted to ensure the people with disability
live a normal and comfortable life. It has various provisions ranging from the equal employment
opportunities, equal rights to access and enjoy State and Local Government Activities, easy access
to public transport, access and equal utilization of public accommodations, consideration in the

An Analysis Of Alexandre Dumas Davy De La Pailleterie
Alexandre Dumas Alexandre Dumas Davy de la Pailleterie, the author of The Three Musketeers,
was born in Villers Cotterets, France on July 24, 1802. His father, also named Alexandre
Dumas, was a general in Napoleon s army. When the author was only four years old, his father
died, and he and his two siblings were raised in poverty by his mother, Marie Louise Elizabeth
Davy de la Pailleterie. He went a private school for a short period of time before he started
teaching himself and becoming homeschooled. In 1823, he moved to Paris, where he was able to
obtain a comfortable job as a clerk for the Duke of Orleans. By this time, he had developed
passions for the ladies and for the theater (Alexandre Dumas). After being inspired by watching...

Almost all of his renowned books were collaborations with other writers, primarily Auguste Maquet.
Their works included The Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo. These novels were
initially broken down into serials in magazines instead of complete books. Because of all his
successes with his novels, the 1840s were the apex of his finances, and he was able to build a
luxurious estate.
Although Dumas created some of the best known plays and novels in the world, he suffered
from many setbacks which ultimately led to his death. He created a controversial, yet popular
play in 1832 called The Tower of Nesle. The play depicted many of the vices of the preceding
king and was disliked by the new king, Louis Philippe. As a result, the author was exiled from
France for a short period of time. He suffered from bankruptcy from wasting too much money on
his estate and giving lavish gifts to women. He escaped his creditors by fleeing to Brussels.
After he returned to Paris, he worked tirelessly to pay his debts. He created two newspaper
companies, which survived about three years each. Then, he had to retreat to first son s home in
1870 because of the Prussian occupation of Paris in the Franco Prussian War. He died two years
later in poverty and declining spirits on December fifth at seventy years old (DISCovering Authors).

Crystallization Synthesis
Before crystallization, the unknown weighed 0.83 g, it was white, soft, and had small ball clumps
almost producing a salt like appearance. About 70 mL of ethanol was used to purify the unknown.
Within the final stages of fully dissolving the ethanol with the unknown, the unknown started to
crystallize quickly, therefore, no ice bath was needed. After the unknown air dried, it was clear,
soft, flaky, and it looked like ice. In terms of purity of the solid, recrystallization worked because it
dissolved both the impurities and the compound within ethanol. The impurities were removed and
the pure solution was left behind after being filtered. In terms of yield, recrystallization worked
because there was a significant amount of the unknown after it has been crystallized.... Show more

compound was most likely to be acenaphthene. Before the melting process, the unknown was
observed to be white, flaky, shiny, and soft. When it was mixed with other compounds, the
characteristics began to change. For instance, when the unknown was mixed with acenaphthene, the
solid was grainy and white. When it was mixed with benzil, the solution was green and glittery. Last

I Will Revisit Russon s Definition Of Memory, And Three...
In this paper I will revisit Russon s definition of memory, and three of the aspects that he presents
as important in the memory process. I will also argue that our body play an important role for our
remembering, as does the objects we interact with. As well as present my position on Russon
description of memory demonstrating that Russon s description is indeed relatable to the actual
human experience. Russon s definition of memory is not subjected to one main idea, but rather an
intertwining of related ideas pertaining to experience. He views memory as, What we experience as
the determinateness of objects that communicates to us what we can and cannot do, (Russon 41).
To emphasize, we experience our world through interactions with the world s objects. The contact
made with these objects provides an identity for them that later communicates to us about ourselves.
Russon present this idea of memory based on two types of memory, implicit and explicit. Implicit
memory are memories that we remember in part, while explicit memory are those that we
remember completely. An example that Russon gives in another instance that connects to this is the
idea of him terminating his lease and having a few weeks remaining is inscribed in everything
within his apartment. Each object represents the identity of the future commitment of moving
whether pervasively or occasionally. However Russon thinks that for us to remember there are
certain aspects that needs to be involve. First is

Polyphenols Vs Antioxidant
Polyphenols are a naturally occurring compound in apples that have recently been found equally
as effective as antioxidants in preventing free radicals from damaging the cells due to their ability
to fight oxidation of low density lipoproteins and scavenge reactive oxygen species (Rana, Boyer
and Liu, Bellion et al.). They are known as a stronger protector for the organism against oxidative
stress mediated damage (Bellion et al.) Humans and animals have complex antioxidantdefense
systems, but they cannot prevent every oxidative stress from occurring. Both cardiovascular disease
and cancerare thought to be the most dangerous results of oxidative stress, both of which can lead
to damage of the larger biomolecules, such as DNA, lipids, and proteins... Show more content on

It can be defined as the intake of foreign agents in order to restrain induction, to prevent or slow the
progression of cancer or reversal of carcinogenesis at a premalignant stage (Jaganathan et al.) These
experiments, both studying in vivo and in vitro effects of apple polyphenols, have showed their
benefits as a strong chemopreventive food. When reviewing in vivo studies, the chemopreventive
properties in the apple diet could be seen as a visible reduction of inflammation, epithelial lesions in
the colon and increasing of apoptosis in tumor cells (Pietro Femia, et al.) Cancer preventive
strategies in vitro include mechanisms to trap and remove carcinogens from the organism, which
would minimize their contact with DNA and reduce their genotoxic and promutagenic action, and
also preventing the activation of procarcinogens to ultimate carcinogens, which could enhance their
detoxification through modulation of xenobiotic metabolism (Gerhauser et al.) Protein expression
was also noted in in vitro studies showing that polyphenols increase expression of both the p53
protein and GSTT2 protein, which suppresses tumors and reduces genotoxic stress,

Bikini Bottom Marxist Theory
Marx s Bikini Bottom When a child is watching the television show SpongeBob SquarePants, it is
often viewed as an innocent, comical, cartoon about a Sponge and his day to day activities. But
later in life, after learning about Marx s Theory, one can explain the correlation between the two
polar opposites. Marx s Theory is the political and economic philosophy of Karl Marxand Friedrich
Engels in which the concept of class struggle plays a central role in understanding society s
allegedly inevitable development from bourgeois oppression under capitalism to a socialist and
ultimately classless society ( Marxism). The entire town of Bikini Bottom is exactly how a Marxist
City would be set up, with each level of the social structure demonstrated with different characters in
different classes; poor, middle, and upper.
The lowest class in the today s social structure would be considered the poor, which is often
viewed as lazy, education lacking people who are not willing work in order to move up through the
social structure. Patrick, one of the main characters in SpongeBob SquarePants, presents these
views to be true while he is participating in his role in Bikini Bottom. He has no source of income,
does not attend school, has little belongings and lives under a rock. In episode 13 of season 9 he
refers to his unemployment as funemployment when he tries to convince SpongeBob that he does
not need to work (Hillenburg). Another character displayed is Plankton. He is also

The Symbolism Of Evil In Dracula By Bram Stoker
It was Stoker, who with the stroke of his pen, forever linked the real clad with traditional beliefs in
malefic spirits that return from the dead to plague the living. Stoker welded these elements into the

due to his unusual methods. Dracula, similar to Vlad, was created to be cruel and bloodthirsty

psychological warfare. He crushed the morale of the Turks through his method of torture:
burning oil, mutilation, decapitation. In one campaign alone he killed 24,000 and built a

someone straight. After this stunt the turks and ottomans alike were much more cautious and

There are two basic types of services offered through GSM: telephony (also referred to as tele

Shakepeare In School Curriculum
The new age question whether shakespeare should be included in school curriculum is quite

A Comparison Of Jurisdictions In The US And The UK
A comparison of Jurisdictions in the UK and USA
In this report I will be comparing the differences and similarities between legal jurisdictions
between the United Kingdom and the United States of America. I intend to outline some of the key
differences between the two systems.
In terms of the US and UK Supreme Courts they share a hand full of similarities, both handle the
highest appeals court within the jurisdictions on pivotal domestic law. The US Supreme Court has
the final say on federal constitutional law and has jurisdiction over the federal courts and over
state courts. Nevertheless, the Supreme Court doesn t have jurisdiction of matters of state law.
Likewise, the UK Supreme Court has the control over the court of appeal for every civil cases
within the United Kingdom and the criminal cases in England, Wales and Northern Ireland but
when it comes to Scotland and criminal cases the Supreme Court has limited jurisdiction. As well

Winston Churchill, The Politician, The Speaker, The Prime
Winston Churchill, the politician, the speaker, the prime minister, the man who came up with the
saying Keep Calm and Carry On . He was all these things, but also much more. Winston Churchill
was born on November thirteenth 1874 to a famous British duke family. His father was Lord
Randolph, a politician, and his mother was an American. They both somewhat abandoned him as
a child, sending him to preparatory school to get in trouble and then to Harrow at age fourteen
where he was told he had no academic or athletic future. He took his dad as an inspiration, despite
his absence, and proved his teachers wrong by winning the 1892 public schools fencing
championship. Then he took even more inspiration when his dad died at age forty six and... Show

When Germany became a danger to the world in both world wars, Winston was the one who
stood up and led his country in fighting this war powerhouse.Churchill rose in political power
until he was first Lord of Admiralty in 1911.His first acts were to modernize his navy fleet, as he
felt the tides of war in Europe. With his new fleet he hastily sent troops to Antwerp Belgium only
to fail. Antwerp fell to Germany and Britain suffered many casualties. The first World War was a
stalemate as neither side could break the other s defenses. Churchill decided to attack the
Ottoman Empire at Gallipoli. The attack failed horribly, there was wasted time, power, and most
importantly there was many lost lives. He lost his political power because of this defeat and
decided to fight as a soldier. However, seven months later, Winston s mistakes at Gallipoli were
forgotten when his research project, the tank, was a major war success. He once again rose to
Secretary of State for war. When the first world war was over, Churchill left office in 1931 and
resumed his career as a writer. Churchill became worried with Germany once again but he now
had no political power so, he wrote to his audiences about the issue. The prime minister disregarded
Winston s warnings and allowed Hitler to ignore

Thomas Pynchon Accomplishments
Thomas Pynchon is an American author, known for his deep and complex novels. Some say he is
the greatest American author since World War II. Being such a private person, there are only few
pictures of him in the public, and only few interviews with him. By using satire, irony, and
symbolism, he showcased the moral flaws in humans at that time in society. Doing so he influenced
many future writers, and artists, as well as the literature world. Pynchon is known for being part of
the postmodernism movement in literature.
Born on May 8th 1937, in New York, he is the descendent of William Pynchon, the founder of
Springfield, Massachusetts. His long line of wealthy ancestors and family style greatly influenced
his writings. He was student of the year at Oyster Bay High, and ... Show more content on

He is thought to have influenced many directors, writers, and artists. Specifically influencing
Neal Stephenson and William Gibson. One of Pynchon s novels Gravity s Rainbow is
considered the start of the cyberpunk genre, of which Stephenson and Gibson were very
prominent authors in. Pynchon is believed to be the reason cyberpunk made its way into the
literature world and grew into a popular genre. The Bible of the 21st Century has an Old
Testament and a New. The Old, written in 1973 by Thomas Pynchon, is called Gravity s Rainbow.
In 1987, in Spin Magazine, Thomas Leary compared Pynchon s novel to the Old Testament, as if it
was like the beginning of something, that without Pynchon, cyberpunk would not be the genre
that it is today. He stated that the New Testament to Pynchon s novel was Gibson s novel;
Neuromancer. His novel was published in 1973, and cyberpunk was not viewed as a literary
genre until the early 1980 s. His novel is considered to be the original cyberpunk novel, which is
why some categorize it in that

Essay On Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the world s most widely recognized red wine grape varieties. It is
grown in nearly every major wine producing country among a diverse spectrum of climates from
Canada s Okanagan Valley to Lebanon s Beqaa Valley. Cabernet Sauvignon became internationally
recognized through its prominence in Bordeaux wines where it is often blended with other red grape
varieties such as Merlot and Cabernet Franc. From France the grape spread through Europe and to
the New World wineregions where it found new homes in California and New Zealand where it
is now highly regarded as Hawks Bay s top wines. For most of the 20th century, it was the world s
most widely planted premium red wine grape, although that accolade is now held by Merlot....

In 1867 the Phylloxera plague struck Europe and almost wiped out all the vineyards in Europe.
The Carmenere vines were the most severely struck and for a very long time it was thought that
the variety was extinct. Since then Carmenere has been to difficult and too much of a risk to
replant in many places in Europe.
Far from being extinct, in recent years Carmenere has been discovered to be thriving in several
areas outside of France. In South America, mainly Chile, growers almost inadvertently preserved
the grape variety during the last 150 years, due largely to its similarity to Merlot.
Cuttings from the Carmenere grape were imported by Chilean growers from Bordeaux in France
during the 19th century. They modelled their wineries after those in France and in the 1850s
cuttings from Bordeaux, which included the Carmenere grape, were planted in the valleys around
Santiago. Thanks to Chile s minimal rainfall and moderate temperatures during the growing season
and the protection of the countries natural boundaries, growers produced healthier crops of
Carmenere and there was no spread of phylloxera, or any other decease. During most of the 20th
century Carmenere was inadvertently collected and processed together with Merlot grapes giving
Chilean Merlot markedly different properties to those of Merlot produced

The Evolution of Film Essay example
In the early times of narrative cinema there was litter pressure on the filmmakers for the
evolution of film forms before nickelodeons (Salt, 31) as cinema had not become a mass cultural
product and film was still just a novelty expected to die out like rock n roll. And so the demand
was low and so the supply could remain unoriginal. Mary Jane s Mishap was made in 1903 when
multi scene films were becoming popular (Salt, 32). Mary Jane s Mishap is notable for its use of
experimental and inventive shot transitions. It used a vertical wipe to instead of separate
successive scenes (Salt, 32) (as it cuts to a shot width a wider frame of the same locale) but to
change the zoom level. This frame is essentially an insert and borderline... Show more content on

The Art Of A Pastry Chef
The art of the pastry chef has been around since the eighth century BC. Being a pastry chef is a
difficult job and requires a creative mind. I ve chosen this project to get a greater understanding
of the art. Pastry chefs work in varies places, bake many pastries, and work long hours. Many get
training on the job while others receive their training at a culinary school. Pastry chefs require an
eye for detail and good managing skills; they must also be great at following directions. The
history of the start of pastry chefs goes way back in time.
The Assyrians are known as the first, in the eighth century BC, to conjoin very thin layers of bread
dough with chopped nuts and honey to produce what we know as the Baklava (Made Man: History
Of The Pastry Chef). Greek seamen discovered this and loved the pastry. They brought the recipe
to Athens. Then, Greek pastry chefs discovered a way to roll the dough thinner and they created
phyllo dough. French and Italian Renaissance pastry chefs took the primary phyllo dough recipe
and perfected puff pastries , which were filled with anything from sweetmeats to fruits, small eggs
or birds (Made Man: History Of The Pastry Chef). In the seventeenth and eighteenth century, pastry
chefs created new recipes such as Cream puffs, Eclairs, and Napoleons. Chocolate was first used to
create pastries after Spanish and Portuguese traders brought it to

The Secret Sharer By Joseph Conrad
The Secret Sharer by Joseph Conrad The short story The Secret Sharer by Joseph Conrad centers
around a character of a sea captain who is insecure and has great feelings of inadequacy on his
fist job as Captain of a ship. In the story the Captain befriends a fugitive by the name of Legatt
who is clearly shown to be a figment of the Captains imagination rather than an actual human being.
The title of the story alone suggests that the secret sharer is an imaginary friend that is secretive
and that the Captain can share his thoughts with. The Captains feelings of inadequacy and his
insecurities leave an empty space in him, which he fills by imagining his secret sharer . Legatt
helps the Captain overcome his feelings of inadequacy... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

his attempt toward friendliness serves to alienate the captain even further because his crew is
so taken aback by his actions. The Captain needs to show leadership in order to gain respect of
his crew, but being his first time in command of a ship and being a stranger to himself he does
not know how. When Legatt first appears the Captain seems to treat him like a distinguished
guest rather than a fugitive. The Captain discovers that they have a few things in common and
feels like he has someone he can relate to on the ship. He refers to Legatt as his double
numerous times because he says they look so much alike. When Legatt first enters the ship the
Captain gives him a sleeping suit identical to his and it fit him perfectly. Some very great
similarities can be seen from this and it appears that the Captain and Legatt are one and the same
person One of my hands, too, rested on the end of the skylight...the strange Captain having a quiet
confabulation by the wheel with his own gray ghost (730). This quote suggests that the Captain
may be imagining Legatt to have someone on the ship to confide in and not to be the only stranger
on the ship. The Captain hides Legatt in his quarters for a few days and becomes almost
inseparable from him, which in turn makes the

Analysis of October Sky Essay
Living Above Ground The inspirational true story of Homer Hickam in October Sky reminds us
all to strive for our goals and never give up, even in the face of adversity. However, Homer was
fighting for a great deal in his pursuit of rocketry, he was even fighting for his life. Born in a coal
mining town, son of a foreman, Homer seemed destined to work the mine when he grew up. But in
October Sky, Homer has to overcome what the mine represents: isolation and death. The life of a
coalminer is often isolated from several things that most people would take for granted. Due to the
demand of coal, towns are set up wherever the mines are opened. In the case of the movie, the main
setting was in the remote town of Coalwood, West Virginia.... Show more content on

This provides an interesting dynamic and internal conflict in Homer. He is overcoming the isolation
from his father by mining, and John even considers him a man since he has done hard work in the
mine. However, he also becomes isolated from his friends that he has spent so much time with
recently. He is relegated to spending lunch breaks catching up with the other members of the
rocket boys. While being separated from the outside world and even family and friends may be
one effect of the mine, a larger impact may be the fact that the mine is a place of death in the
mind of Homer. Throughout the movie, Homer s fear of the mine is shown in cases like where
the boys are shooting Roy Lee s car and he mentions how O Dell s father died when the roof of
the mine collapsed near him and cut his head off. Allusions are made to the symbol of death
throughout the movie. The elevator could be seen as a coffin, an instrument of isolation. When
Homer is going down into the mine for the first time, the shot is of him being lowered into the
mine shaft, much like that of being lowered into a grave. Homer even begins to blame himself
for the death of Ike Bykovsky later in the movie. Because Bykovsky helped Homer build the first
rocket, Homer s father sent him into the mine, where he was later killed. Homer keeps Bykovsky s
number tag as a reminder of what his future could

Thomas Edison And The Light Bulb Essay
Everyone in their lifetime has heard the name Thomas Edison at least once. However, if you
asked those same people why Thomas Edison was so famous, ninety percent of the time they
would tell you it was because he invented the light bulb, and each of them would be completely
wrong. Thomas Edison did not invent the light bulb; in fact, someone had the idea for it almost
one hundred years before Mr. Edison was even born. To invent something means to come up with
the idea in the first place, as well as to actually carry it out.
In this paper I will give you insights into the life of Thomas Edison and explain why people get
confused in thinking the light bulb was his idea. He also had several other interesting
experiments, and we will take a look at what people thought of them. I believe Thomas Edison is
one of the greatest minds that have ever existed on planet earth, and the rest of this paper will be
devoted to showing you why this is true.
If one stopped and thought about all the amazing and wonderful inventions that this world has
ever seen, what would be number one on that list? Most people in today s world would probably
say items that they use on a daily basis. If we made a list of what some people might say, it might
include such things as automobiles, their new iPhone, advancements in medicine, heaters, air
conditioning, power tools, gaming systems, IPods, etc., and the list could go on and on.

Imperialism In The Congo Research Paper
In the Congo, many people were affected by Imperialism in many different ways. For some
people were shamed, had curfews, and some were often banned from white people
establishments. Therefore, it was like segregation to the Congolese people. They had religion
forced onto them by the Roman Catholic and some Protestant Churches. However, they gained
formal education systems and slowly improved their healthcare. The government even sponsored
teaching a handful of languages in the schools. When imperialism first hit, the Congo
experienced withdrawal of resources due to lack of farming, therefore having a small population
was vital to the Congolese people would support themselves. It was not until after the Congo
gained their independence back, did the population start to grow back. Sadly, among the small
population in the Congo, most were receiving callus treatment from Leopold and many died in
war, or from starvation, slavery, and also disease. Since there was a withdrawal of resources, the
Congo built railroads and mines. In doing so, it created more jobs for the Congolese people.

crashes are identified as the leading cause of death in children under 19 years of age across the
United States (Sauber Schatz, West, Bergen, 2014). Due to the large number of child deaths that

Recommendations Based on results of the guideline there are specific recommendations that
should be followed by families and medical personnel regarding child passenger safety practices.
Rear facing car seats should be utilized for infants and toddlers until they are 2 years old, or have
reached the maximum weight identified by the car seat manufacturer. Forward facing seats with a
harness should be utilized once the child has outgrown the rear facing seat and should be utilized
until the maximum height or weight identified by the car seat manufacturer has been reached by
the child. Once the maximum height or weight requirement has been reached, the child should be
transitioned into a belt positioning booster seat. The belt positioning booster seat should be utilized
until the lap and shoulder seat belt fits properly, which is usually between 8 and 12 years of age or
around the height of 4 feet nine inches. Until children are at least 14 years of age children should
travel in rear seats of vehicles to promote optimal protection (Committee on Injury, Violence, and
Poison Prevention, 2011). Whether working as a nurse in the community or on an inpatient hospital
unit it is important to continually offer education to families regarding appropriate practice for
child passenger safety. Parents often base car seat selection on age of their child, but that is only
one of the factors that

Currently there is a large amount of research based on the use of the system and its benefits,

mass gathering of data to identify specific problems within the safety sector. Such as Cardosi,
Falzarano, Han (2008) researchbased on ASRS reports, where they analyzed 386 reports from the

By providing the users with its benefits of confidentiality and partial immunity, it draws people in to
report the problems that will be used for future identifications and research. Several researchers have
already used the data provided by the system to create further safety information within the aviation
field, although the amount of data the gathered was rather limited and needed a further boost,
which the ASRS system can provide if the majority of personnel are aware of its existence.
Furthermore, a majority of the research literature so far has all been based on the data that the
ASRS has stored, but almost no research has been done on the ASRS awareness within the
aviation community. If the proper research is done on the ASRS and the knowledge of it of the
aviation sector, the field would view a greatly increased input of data and create a truly
preventative system that create an overall safer environment. The current state of awareness of the
ASRS system within the aviation community is severely inconspicuous and under used. Through
the proposed research, additional data will be collected to clearly identify a percentage of people
that are aware of the ASRS program and know how to utilize it.
The proposed hypothesis of this research project is that the ASRS reporting system has a large gap
in the awareness and identification of the current system. To identify

Akunna in his obi talking through an interpreter about religion. Neither of them succeeded in

occurred during a time of racial discrimination and imperialism, where countries went to foreign
lands to expand. The scramble for Africa is a superb example of this. The Ibo people and their
culture are being oppressed by the white missionaries. In Chinua Achebes novel Things Fall Apart,

first time they had a woman. Her name was Nneka, the wife of Amadi, who was a prosperous

against the Ibo people they accepted all of them into their fait. They even accepted the outcasts

missionaries did not come to the Ibo people and push them off their own land. The missionaries

The History And Development Of The Ancient Greek Theatre
Our dramas, plays and theatres today are all originally inspired by the classic Greek theatres. The
classic Greek theatres can be said as the pioneer in theatricals. As early as 700 B.C., ancient Greek
theatre was originated. There are four qualities of ancient Greek theatre which are the occasions for
its performance, competitive element, choral element and the basis of the theatre.
The earliest theatres or dramas were staged during spring to honor the god Dionysus. This festival,
City Dionysia was established by the Athenian ruler named Pisistratus. In Greek mythology,
Dionysus was known as the son of Zeus, the only god who was born by one god and one mortal
parent, Semele. He was also known as the god of wine, fertility and revelry. He was raised by
satyrs, killed, dismembered and was actually reborn. While other gods had temples for
themselves, the cult of Dionysus was hold in the wood. It was believed that he could liberate and
inspire man. It was also believed that he could endow man with divine creativity. Thus, Dionysus
was considered as a patron of arts.
As had been mentioned earlier, the festival, City Dionysia featured competition such as in music,
dance, poetry and singing and prizes were awarded to the winners each year. Actors and
playwrights presented tragedies and comedies during the three days of this festival and they ... Show

  • 2. The Current Staff Problem Strategy In observing the Dept. of Motor Vehicles transaction process, it demonstrates a complicated and redundant registration structure. In the licensing center, drivers must navigate the decentralized facility, moving from station to station with documents and verification forms (Dresang, 2012). In this situation, the driver must have the correct paperwork and follow the right line order or risk restarting the process. Therefore, the DMV must consider training current employees to process all required paperwork and payments as well as provide license plates. As a result, the registration process is centralized and streamlined because the organization creates a one stop processing center. Feasibility The training of the current staff involves an individualistic level change, where the organization focuses on improving employees to create an efficient processing system (Miller, 2002). In creating a centralized process, it requires significant staff training and development. The Human Resources (HR) department will analyze the workload, environment, and schedules to create training plans [in house training videos, manuals, and on site instructions] and adjust job descriptions and offer compensation. The organization will provide cross training and manage the employee s knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the new task and adhere to new policies. As a result, it takes a few months, approximately six months, for crossed trained employees to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Wal Mart Stock Analysis Essay I. Executive Summary The purpose of this report is to evaluate the stock price of Wal Mart Stores Inc. (which ticker symbol in NYSE is WMT) by fundamental analysis. According to this analysis, I recommend that Wal Mart is worth to invest in the long term because of the potential growth of market shares and revenue. Besides, based on P/E method and Gordon model, WMT price is undervalued; therefore, if investors buy the stock, they will get benefit not only in capital gain but also in dividend cash inflow. II. Introduction of Wal Mart Stores Inc. (WMT) Wal Mart, founded by Sam Walton in 1962, is the world s largest retailer and public corporation. It operates over 6,500 stores worldwide, employs 1.9 million associates, and serves more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Beta is the slope of the characteristic line. As shown in appendix1, we use the monthly historical data from April 2003 to April 2008 to graph SCL. We use S P 500 as the market because it contains the stocks of 500 Large Cap corporations and can reflect the market change broadly. As shown in exhibit 1, we can get the SCL: Ri Rf = 0.001 + 0.1649(Rm Rf). So the beta is 0.1649 and the alpha (intercept) is 0.001. From the regression line, we find the R square is only 0.103. It reflects the degree that X variable explains Y variable is 10.3%. That is, Ri Rf has no close relationship with Rm Rf. In addition, due to the fact that beta is only 0.1649, it also provides the same result which Ri Rf and Rm Rf have no strong positive relationship. It is a good issue to consider why Wal Mart stock return does not relate with S P 500 return very well. From exhibit 2, we find the Wal Mart price did not change very much while S P 500 price went up. The major reasons may be that S P 500 includes many high tech stocks and those stocks performed very well during the period; therefore the volatility is greater than Wal Mart. Moreover, maybe Wal Mart has lower weight in S P 500 so its trend of price change is different from S P 500. From exhibit2, we also find Wal Mart had good relationship with S P 500 before 2004. To examine the situation, we use the data from 1998 to 2003 and find the SCL ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The French Revolution And Its Effect On British Political... What, if anything, was achieved by extra parliamentary protest in the years 1790 1819? Radicalism was alive in Britain from the late eighteenth century, yet Parliament resolutely refused to reform itself until the late 1830s. It is therefore tempting to dismiss extra parliamentary protest during this period as having failed to bring about any substantial reform in the face of Government repression. The French Revolution had a dramatic impact on British political life from the onset of its eruption in 1789. In November 1790, Edmund Burke published Reflections on the Revolution in France . Burke was not opposed to reform but he defended Britain s existing constitution on the grounds that it had grown organically out of Britain s unique history. In his book he maintained that government derived its authority from custom and tradition, not from the consent of the governed. He celebrated the rule of the monarchy and aristocracy, feeling that moderate reform would lead to violent revolution similar to that in France and so the system had to be defended to protect it from destruction. On the other hand, many people were excited by the events taking place in France. By far the most influential response to Burke s book was Thomas Paine s The Rights of Man (first published in 1791) in which he laid out the ideological basis for republican reform. In the first volume he applauded the changes in France and dismissed Burke s insistence on the need to follow tradition, instead ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Aviation Technician Research Paper I was the one who love to work with my hands and as a kid, my parents would get mad at me because I would take things apart, but I wouldn t understand how to put things back together and I ll have a bunch of parts. Well as I grew older I started working on cars and I would take it apart, but this time I knew how to fix it. The struggle of figuring out what parts go where, a big puzzle, and then the enjoyment of hearing the motor roaring and the rumble of the exhaust, having that feeling like wow I just built that and look at it now. In this essay, I will explain what I wantto do for my future career and what is required to succeed in my dreams. I am thinking about becoming an aviation technician. The average rate a technician gets paid is about $28.98 per hour and about $60,270 per year. The employment rate is about 7 percent, so it will take a lot of work for me to get to where I would like to be. • 7. Forensic Evidence Admissibility For or Against in the... In this position paper I have chosen Bloodsworth v. State ~ 76 Md.App. 23, 543 A.2d 382 case to discuss on whether or not the forensic evidence that was submitted for this case should have been admissible or not. To understand whether or not the evidence should be admissible or not we first have to know what the case is about. This case started on July 25, 1984, with the death of a nine year old girl by the name of Dawn Hamilton. The story plays out as follows: Dawn approached two boys and an adult male that were fishing at a pond in a wooded area near Golden Ring Mall in eastern Baltimore, Maryland. Dawn asked the boys to help her find her cousin, they declined the adult male however agreed to help her look. This was the last time anyone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It seems that they got tunnel view when it came to Bloodsworth and were going to make the evidence stick one way or another. This is made evident in the fact that Bloodsworth was the only suspect that they looked at for the crime. They never investigated any other leads to the crime. They even did not take into account that Bloodsworth in no way resembled the description that was given to police by the witnesses at first. It is quite funny the sketch that was done by a police sketch artist resembles Bloodsworth their prime suspect at this time. A sketch mind you that the witnesses said did not look like the person they saw. I find it also odd that two of the witnesses did not pick put Bloodsworth at first, it was not until later that they had time to think that Bloodsworth was the one that they saw. While we are on the subject the police ruled out a potential suspect his demographical features did not meet the description that was given by the witnesses. How odd one suspect is ruled out by demographical features but one is not. In March of 1985, Bloodsworth was sentenced to death. Through it all Bloodsworth maintained his innocence and in 1993 with the help of a new technique used to test for DNA, Bloodsworth got his chance to prove he was innocent. Bloodsworth became the first person ever to be exonerated from death row by DNA evidence. (Jain, 2001) In one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Kindertransport Missions The Kindertransport missions were an attempt at rescuing German children from the horrors of the Holocaust ( Kindertransport, 1938 1940 ). The nazis burned Jewish synagogues, orphanages, and other Jewish buildings (Ward). Organizations wanted to do everything in their power to protect the children from these terrible things. While these worked for many children, there were still several that had to suffer. Many of the Jews were separated from their families forcefully by Hitler and the Nazis. Jews were also sent to concentration camps where they were often tortured and killed by genocide. The children continued to be effected, there were just less frequent reports of children being physically harmed. Some of the teenage boys who were transported fought against their home country, Germany, in World War II (Ward). Due to this, some of the boys were often killed during combat. The original plan was to prevent the transports from being injured. This was effective for the majority of the time although, some were still injured. There was no way to keep every child 100% safe. Homes were promised to the transports by The Movement for the Care of Children from Germany. There were fears that many of the transports would not have homes due to the amount of children being transported at once. These fears slowly faded as different groups and organizations promised to find and provide a place to stay for every transported child. To ensure the safety of the children while on the train, soldiers searched every transports belongings before they were allowed to enter the train (Ward). Bags were checked for any weapons or suspicious items that could be used to harm another individual. • 9. Reaction Paper On Anger Anger is a common reaction that can aid individuals in relieving stress, and expressing emotions. Experiencing anger is normal, and at times, the appropriate response. When accomplished appropriately, anger can be an important tool used by a healthy adult. But anger has risks, perhaps more than any other emotion, it can isolate people from other adults and lead individuals to engage in behavior they may later regret. Angercan be manifested through a variety of ways, including physical violence, verbal profanity and internal frustrations. Anger can be the result of sadness, fear, or an overall inability to effectively cope with the struggles of everyday life. Writer had the experience of interacting with a client, TR, who was in the middle of an anger outburst, due to behavior of a staff member. Writer had met with TR a few times prior to this incident, a rapport had been built and TR felt comfortable enough to approach writer. When approached by TR, writer used facilitative skills to notice body language. TR s teeth were clenched, his hands were clenched in a fist and his tone was loud and sharp. TR was upset with how a staff member treated another client. Taking knowledge of defense mechanisms into account writer was able to surmise that this anger was an example of displacement from one staff member to another. In Freudian psychology, displacement is the redirection of an impulse, usually aggression, onto a powerless substitute target. The target can be a person or an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Personal Integrity In The Blue Hotel And Tennessee s Partner There are many themes evident in both Stephen Crane s The Blue Hotel and Bret Harte s Tennessee s Partner; some of these themes are easily recognizable while recognition of the others depends on the perception of the reader. The two stories share the theme of personal integrity and that all actions have consequences; however, there are several themes that are unique to each story that the readercan latch on to. The plotand storyline of Tennessee s Partner are straightforward, but after reading Crane s The Blue Hotel, one can imagine many different plots that could have taken place throughout the story. Through imagery, the reader can take what each author presents and let his or her imagination run wild; there is not a set feeling or reaction that either author intends for the reader to have after reading. Personal integrity can be seen in both stories between the characters Tennessee s Partner and The Easterner. Tennessee s partner is integral because he never left his friend behind, even after he had done him wrong. He was always there for Tennessee and never betrayed him. The Easterner shows his integrity when he tells the truth about Johnnie and feels guilty about the situation with the Swede; most people would have shrugged it off so that they did not have to deal with it but he chose to speak up. Both of these forms of integrity show the true moral values of each character, each example gives us a better idea of what it s like to be integrin. The two ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Children enjoy playing outside; therefore, confining a child to a hospital bed for the duration of his or her recovery would stifle the recovery progress and make a traumatic experience an emotional nightmare. A hospital that has a common outdoor playarea could alleviate the emotional stress for the siblings visiting loved ones in the hospital. In fact, stress can be a definitive barrier to wellness and recuperating (Feldman, 2016). A hospital that has an outdoor play area could use this area for young siblings to meet, instead of in a room full of medical equipment. Romeo there dead, was husband to that Juliet; and she, there dead, that Romeo s faithful wife. • 21. Characteristics Of Malignant Hyperthermia ( Mh ) Abstract Malignant Hyperthermia (MH) is a genetically inherited, pharmacogenic disorder involving a severe malfunction within the skeletal muscles, causing them to be stuck in a contracted state. It is found to be triggered in susceptible patients by the administration of certain anesthetic agents during and after surgical procedures. It may also be activated by the use of other drugs, such as muscle relaxants and triggered by other circumstances such as stress, trauma, and even exercising. Not only are the muscles normal physiology affected, but abnormalities of the whole body occur disrupting its natural homeostasis. If it is not treated immediately, it can be fatal. Susceptibility is found in patients who have had a known family history of MH. In order for a medical professional or a patient to be prepared to handle MH one must understand how it affects the normal physiology of the body, what signs to look for, and how it can be diagnosed, treated, and prevented. There is no cure for MH, but there are specific drugs and precautionary measures that are used to prevent and treat it when a patient is susceptible. • 30. I Will Revisit Russon s Definition Of Memory, And Three... In this paper I will revisit Russon s definition of memory, and three of the aspects that he presents as important in the memory process. I will also argue that our body play an important role for our remembering, as does the objects we interact with. As well as present my position on Russon description of memory demonstrating that Russon s description is indeed relatable to the actual human experience. Russon s definition of memory is not subjected to one main idea, but rather an intertwining of related ideas pertaining to experience. He views memory as, What we experience as the determinateness of objects that communicates to us what we can and cannot do, (Russon 41). To emphasize, we experience our world through interactions with the world s objects. The contact made with these objects provides an identity for them that later communicates to us about ourselves. Russon present this idea of memory based on two types of memory, implicit and explicit. Implicit memory are memories that we remember in part, while explicit memory are those that we remember completely. Polyphenols Vs Antioxidant Polyphenols are a naturally occurring compound in apples that have recently been found equally as effective as antioxidants in preventing free radicals from damaging the cells due to their ability to fight oxidation of low density lipoproteins and scavenge reactive oxygen species (Rana, Boyer and Liu, Bellion et al.). They are known as a stronger protector for the organism against oxidative stress mediated damage (Bellion et al.) Humans and animals have complex antioxidantdefense systems, but they cannot prevent every oxidative stress from occurring. • 32. Bikini Bottom Marxist Theory Marx s Bikini Bottom When a child is watching the television show SpongeBob SquarePants, it is often viewed as an innocent, comical, cartoon about a Sponge and his day to day activities. But later in life, after learning about Marx s Theory, one can explain the correlation between the two polar opposites. Marx s Theory is the political and economic philosophy of Karl Marxand Friedrich Engels in which the concept of class struggle plays a central role in understanding society s allegedly inevitable development from bourgeois oppression under capitalism to a socialist and ultimately classless society ( Marxism). The entire town of Bikini Bottom is exactly how a Marxist City would be set up, with each level of the social structure demonstrated with different characters in different classes; poor, middle, and upper. The lowest class in the today s social structure would be considered the poor, which is often viewed as lazy, education lacking people who are not willing work in order to move up through the social structure. Patrick, one of the main characters in SpongeBob SquarePants, presents these views to be true while he is participating in his role in Bikini Bottom. He has no source of income, does not attend school, has little belongings and lives under a rock. While being separated from the outside world and even family and friends may be one effect of the mine, a larger impact may be the fact that the mine is a place of death in the mind of Homer. Due to the large number of child deaths that occur each year, education regarding the proper use of child passenger safety seats must be provided to families. According to Basco, Hletko, West, and Darden (2009), although death and injury caused by motor vehicle accidents are deemed accidental, they are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Recommendations Based on results of the guideline there are specific recommendations that should be followed by families and medical personnel regarding child passenger safety practices. Rear facing car seats should be utilized for infants and toddlers until they are 2 years old, or have reached the maximum weight identified by the car seat manufacturer. Forward facing seats with a harness should be utilized once the child has outgrown the rear facing seat and should be utilized until the maximum height or weight identified by the car seat manufacturer has been reached by the child. Once the maximum height or weight requirement has been reached, the child should be transitioned into a belt positioning booster seat. The belt positioning booster seat should be utilized until the lap and shoulder seat belt fits properly, which is usually between 8 and 12 years of age or around the height of 4 feet nine inches. Until children are at least 14 years of age children should travel in rear seats of vehicles to promote optimal protection (Committee on Injury, Violence, and Poison Prevention, 2011). Whether working as a nurse in the community or on an inpatient hospital unit it is important to continually offer education to families regarding appropriate practice for child passenger safety. Parents often base car seat selection on age of their child, but that is only one of the factors that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 52. Essay On Air Awareness Currently there is a large amount of research based on the use of the system and its benefits, although there is nothing in current research that shows the saturation of awareness in the aviation community. Some of the current research highlights the great benefits of the system, including the mass gathering of data to identify specific problems within the safety sector. Such as Cardosi, Falzarano, Han (2008) researchbased on ASRS reports, where they analyzed 386 reports from the program database and gathered data which yielded a lot of results on the contributing factors of pilot controller communication errors. The data they gathered was directly based of the ASRS self reports submitted both by pilots and Air Traffic Controllers... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By providing the users with its benefits of confidentiality and partial immunity, it draws people in to report the problems that will be used for future identifications and research. Several researchers have already used the data provided by the system to create further safety information within the aviation field, although the amount of data the gathered was rather limited and needed a further boost, which the ASRS system can provide if the majority of personnel are aware of its existence. Furthermore, a majority of the research literature so far has all been based on the data that the ASRS has stored, but almost no research has been done on the ASRS awareness within the aviation community. If the proper research is done on the ASRS and the knowledge of it of the aviation sector, the field would view a greatly increased input of data and create a truly preventative system that create an overall safer environment. The current state of awareness of the ASRS system within the aviation community is severely inconspicuous and under used. Through the proposed research, additional data will be collected to clearly identify a percentage of people that are aware of the ASRS program and know how to utilize it. The proposed hypothesis of this research project is that the ASRS reporting system has a large gap in the awareness and identification of the current system. To identify ... Examples Of Imperialism In Things Fall Apart Things Fall Apart Essay Whenever Mr. Brown went to that village he spent long hours with Akunna in his obi talking through an interpreter about religion. Neither of them succeeded in converting the other but they learned more about their different beliefs (Achebe 179).
