Essay on Data Forcasting Spreadsheet
1. PURPOSE OF THE DATA
In this spread sheet the purpose of the data was to show the forecast of Humber Computing Solutions
for the period of one year for three different services/products. The data represents the income from
each product/service and total income and the same for expenditures. There is also a section that
shows the amount of hours clients had issues with products/services and what was offered back to
them as a way of compensation for any income they could have lost to no fault of their own. The data
was supposed to be easy to read and understand by whoever was using the data sheet the graphs and
charts were well displayed on their own pages rather than having them all squashed to fit one page.

4. GRAPHICAL OUTPUT
There are seven graphs in this data sheet and each one represents something different the graphs were
created in contrasting colours to make them easier to read. Clicking on the incomings link at the top of
the page takes the user to one graph that represents the data of total monthly incomings on a month by
month basis which is a blue and white colour line graph. On the same page there is a black and blue
coloured graph which data represents the growth in storage incomings over the year. The next set of
graphs is on the expenditures page the first graph indicates the cost in wages monthly to be paid to a
project manager to run the contract this is shown in a black and multi coloured 3D stacked type graph.
The next graph on the page is an area graph that is black and multi coloured and illustrates the
maintenance costs for the three products/services being sold, there is also a piece of smart art that was
used to show the total years income and expenditures on a balance scale with income outweighing the
expenditures.
5. USER GUIDE
This data sheet has automated routines to allow the user to change and manipulate the core data and
the outputs (graphs). If the user deletes the data for wages and inputs their own the data the sheet has
been constructed in such a way the graph will automatically change without user intervention.

The articles of confederation were the first agreement and first constitution of the United States. The
articles of confederation had many flaws which made it more weak than strong. The articles of
confederation were a written document the defined the structure of the government from the years

power, the articles of confederation were made to mainly to foster a common defense. Now, there

This was a violent rebellion where several federal officers ended up being killed in riots to serve arrest
warrants on the offenders. In October 1794, the continental army, led by Washington, put down the
rebellion. The incident showed that the new government under the Constitution could react quickly
and effectively to such a problem, in contrast to the inability of the government under the Articles of
Confederation to deal with Shay s Rebellion. There was also shays rebellion which was carried out by
debtor farmers in western Massachusetts, led by Revolutionary War Captain Daniel Shays and it was
against Boston creditors. it began in 1786 and lasted half a year, threatening economic interests of the
elite and contributing to the demise of the Articles of Confederation. The articles of confederation

Economic Theory Suggests That Markets Are Efficient and...
¡§Economic Theory Suggests that Markets are Efficient and Security Prices are Determined on the
Basis of Fundamental Value¡¨
Market efficiency requires that security prices react immediately in an unbiased way to the receipt of
new information (Robert Shiller S1998). In other words, an efficient capital market is one in which
stock prices fully reflect available information. In addition, there are three conditions for market
efficiency; information flows freely, market is composed of rational investors where all competing
against each other with the objective of maximizing wealth and there is no market imperfections. In
efficient market, investors actively compete in the market based upon perceived mispricing derived
from an analysis of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Best example recently would be the internet stocks from 1996 through 2002 where the price of the
internet stock roses over its fair value until the market forces the price back to its original level
(Russell J. Fuller 1995).
The above argument can fall into the theory of representativeness and conservatism. The principle of
representativeness implies overweighting the results of small sample. Financial economists have
argued that representativeness leads to overreaction in stock returns (Eugene Fama F1998). In the case
of internet companies, great revenue growth for a short time in the late 1990s, causing many to believe
that this growth would continue indefinitely. Stock prices rose (too much) at this point. When, at last,
investors realized that this growth could not be sustained, prices plummeted. On the other hand, the
theory of conservatism states that individuals adjust their beliefs too slowly to new information. A
market composed of this type of investor would likely lead to stock prices that under react in the
presence of new information. This is shown in the example of earning surprises .
It could be said that both representativeness and conservatism have opposite implications for stock
prices. Fama reviewed the academic studies on anomalies, finding that about half of them show
overreaction and about half show under reaction. He concludes that this evidence is consistent with
the market

I Knew A Woman By Theodore Roethke
The poem I Knew a Woman by Theodore Roethke is a very sensual poem as it illustrates in several
lines about to love making. Even though, it is a poem that shows the poet s extreme sense of love and
remembrance for his beloved. T. Roethke describes the cherished image of the woman that he loves
and admires in many ways, and thoughtful tone also describes her as lovely in her bones ( ). He has
compared her virtues with a goddess by using the phrase of whom only God could speak ( ). The dual
meaning underlying the poem are the foundation and help to intertwine the rest of the poem in a
gracefully way. A woman s beauty is more than skin deep and is a fundamental part of herself and
what she is inside.
In contrast with Bishop s poem One Art, the author does a perfect job negating the impact the feeling
of loss has in a person. All throughout the poem Bishop tries to convince herself that losing is part of
life. Her argumentations are irrational in some sense, with her tone she is trying to be indifferent to
what she is feeling deep inside. In the last stanza, she changes her tone and admits that losing the
beloved has a profound effect and brings disaster to her soul.
Both poems use different tools to describe emotions; both authors use double meaning, hyperbole,
repetition, and irony. Both poems talk about love in different ways. One is remembering the loved one
and the other one is trying to convince herself to be strong because that beloved person is not there

Evil In Macbeth
The actions of a person whom has lost their humanity can be described as, evil. Whereas a person
cannot be physically evil, psychologically anything can become evil through personal means. When
someone is born, they cannot be evil; it is through actions and repercussions that decide whether or
not a person is deemed evil. Macbeth is a book of deception between trusting peers, yet even still, one
deceives the other for personal gain and ends up paying the consequences for his actions with what he
values most in life. Some actions that are assumed evil, are not always what they are presumed to be,
the situation that required this action affects whether or not the person and their actions would be
deemed as evil.

In Christianity, a baby born as the spawn of Satan known as the Anti Christ may be known as pure evil
to Christians. But at birth, no one would be able to tell whether or not if it would be cold blooded
killer or a soup kitchen volunteer. It is through their own bad actions and repercussions, that they are
able to be fully denounced evil.
One example of an evil character that everyone presumes is evil, would be Macbeth: a leader of the
lands, served his country as a true patriot. He was possibly not viewed as a good person by his
enemies, but by his people he was viewed as a true inspirational leader. But with greed, comes loss.
Thus he was able to taint himself black and commit his sins.
Evil may not always be viewed this way however, in recent studies of the brain, researchers have
found that evil people have amygdalae smaller than the average person or ones that don t function at
all. This brings up the point of the situation of a person and their actions. If a person with a deformed
or dysfunctional amygdalae commits acts of murder, it would not entirely be their fault. It is an
uncontrollable factor that plays the same role as peer pressure. The person may be able to stop these
urges and actions through self control, much

Irony in Hamlet Essay
Many literary critics point to the considerable irony that exists in Shakespeare s Hamlet. This paper
examines the play for instances of irony and surveys their interpretation by critics.
Howard Felperin comments on Hamlet s ironic consciousness of the fact that he is unable to quickly
execute the command of the ghost:
Eliot s unhappy judgments are worth considering here, if only because they are based on an intuition
of Shakespeare s creative process that is so near to and yet so far from the one presupposed in the
present essay. He imagines Shakespeare grappling with his archaic sources in the attempt to
naturalize, rationalize, and psychologize generally speaking, to streamline and neoclassisize them and

The play begins with the changing of the sentinels on a guard platform of the castle of Elsinore in
Denmark. Recently the spectral likeness of dead King Hamlet has appeared to the sentinels. Tonight
the ghost appears again to Barnardo, Marcellus and Horatio, a very close friend of Hamlet. Horatio
and Marcellus exit the ramparts of Elsinore intending to enlist the aid of Hamlet, who is home from
school, dejected by the o erhasty marriage of his mother to his uncle less than two months after the
funeral of Hamlet s father (Gordon 128). There is a post coronation social gathering of the court,
where Claudius pays tribute to the memory of his deceased brother, the former king, and then, along
with Queen Gertrude, conducts some items of business, for example dispatching Cornelius and
Voltemand to Norway to settle the Fortinbras affair, addressing Polonius and Laertes on the subject of
the latter s return to school abroad. Right at the outset of the drama, there is irony exhibited in the
manner in which Shakespeare characterizes King Claudius he is simply stupendous and yet, shortly
hereafter, he is revealed as a truly evil, thoroughly diabolical sort. George Lyman Kittredge, in his
book, Five Plays of Shakespeare, describes the Bard s excellent characterization of Claudius:

Suicide In Romeo And Juliet Essay
One of the most famous and most controversial love stories is the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by
William Shakespeare. It is the tale of two youthful lovers who are morosely born into two families
who have been enemies for decades. The story closes with Romeo and Juliet both dead; both victims
to a gruesome duo suicide. The pair both commit suicide because of the struggle of them not being
approved to be together by their families. The catastrophe can be blamed three different ways: on Friar
Lawrence, on the Capulet family, and on the Montague family. All three of these accusations are
truthful, because all three of them have a part in the misfortune that could have influenced the
outcome. The blame can be placed on Friar Lawrence because he had the chance to unite the two
families, but instead he allows the elaborate plan to develop. Primitively, he married the pair in hopes
to unite the two families through their love. But, the plan changed after Romeo is banished. Friar
Lawrence devises an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lord and Lady Capulet are the parents of young Juliet. The Capulets have always hated the
Montagues, and the generations of Capulets to come are all supposed to hate the Montagues. This is
the reason Juliet felt her relationship with Romeo had to be concealed. Lord and Lady Capulet also
influence the tragedy greatly by forcing Juliet to marry Paris that Thursday when she is still grieving
over Romeo being banished to Mantua. Lord Capulet declares that he will disown Juliet if she does
not wed Paris. This action is the reason that Juliet seeks help from Friar Lawrence. If the Capulets
were not so forceful with Juliet, she probably would not have been desperate enough to perform Friar
Lawrence s plan. Had she not preformed Friar Lawrence s plan, none of the final deaths would have
transpired. Reflecting on these reasons, it is clear how the Capulet family could have been responsible
for the ending

Playboy Of The Western World Analysis
There was significant development of Ireland as an independent country in the first few decades of the
twentieth century. Through the examination of Synge s Playboy of the Western World, Shaw s O
flaherty, V.C., and Yeats Easter 1916 and Sixteen Dead Men readers are able to better understand the
violence that allowed for that development to be possible within Ireland at the time. Playboy of the
Western World, published in 1907, is a playwright in which John Millington Synge attempts to define
relevant political violence by highlighting the power of English s rule on the Irish natives. The
protagonist, Christy Mahon, is a murderer of his own father who is driven to tell his story due to the
attention that he is receiving. In almost all cases you would perceive the attention that he is receiving
as negative; however, in this case Christy uses his power of persuasion and desperation of his
audience to be enlightened by his story. Christy begins by labeling his father as a, dirty man, God
forgive him, and he getting old and crusty, the way I couldn t put up with him at all. (75) Christy
begins to talk down t his father almost as if he was a useless authoritative figure much like the role of
the British on Ireland s soil. As his audience listens to his story it becomes more and more embellished
and almost as if the killing was a necessary duty. Act II begins with Christy admiring himself in the
mirror, Didn t I know rightly I was handsome... (83). Christy develops even more

MVC architectural pattern is most extensively used by software architect designer, programmer and

contains three types of architectural units or components: Model, View and Controller which actually

Hamlet Soliloquies Analysis
All seven soliloquies in the play are based on several common themes such as death, incest, pain, fear,
emptiness of existence, and pride and hypocrisy that make us human. To create these themes and
further develop character, Shakespeare uses certain techniques. First of all, Shakespeare employs
blank verse to create a smooth flowing rhythm and cadence. He masterfully switches back and forth
between fast and slow pace by utilizing both short choppy sentences and fluent long ones. Secondly, it
is clear that the soliloquies do not waste any word. Each syllable and sound adds depth to the
development of Hamlet. Each soliloquy successfully conveys to the reader Hamlet s state of mind and
intensity of his emotion. Most importantly, the soliloquies reveal something special that the play itself
does no t. Just by looking at the play separately, it i s very hard for readers to notice the character
development that Hamlet goes through. For instance, the beginning soliloquies prove that Hamlet is
indecisive and irresolute. Thus, it i s the soliloquy found in each aAct of the play that readers can
watch Hamlet grow internally.
As an uptight and hypersensitive individual, Hamlet never seems to reveal much about his thoughts
throughout the whole play. In fact, since Hamlet is inclined to express his emotions in a physically
interactive way, including his abusive interaction with his mother and aggressive physical contact with
Laertes and Claudius, it is rather difficult for the audience to interpret his intentions and his thoughts.
His soliloquies, however, are the only ways in which the audience can finally gain an understanding of
his thoughts. This soliloquy, also being the first, reveals him to be thoroughly disgusted with Gertrude,
Claudius, and the world in general. This is when the King Claudius and Queen Gertrude urges Hamlet
in the open court to cast off the deep melancholy which, as they think, has taken possession of his
mind as a consequence of his father s death. In their opinion, Hamlet has sufficiently grieved for his
father s death already. Prior to the soliloquy, King Claudius and Queen Gertrude announce their
marriage, as according to them, the court cannot afford excessive grief, which further saddens

Attica Prison Riot and Prison Reform
We live in a society today filled with crime and fear. We are told not to go out after a certain hour,
always move in groups, and even at times advised to carry a weapon on ourselves. There is only one
thing that gives us piece of mind in this new and frightening world we live in: the American penal
system. We are taught when growing up to believe that all of the bad people in the world are locked
up, far out of sight and that we are out of reach of their dangerous grasp. Furthermore, the murderers
and rapists we watch on television, we believe once are caught are to be forgotten and never worried
about again. We wish on them the most horrible fates and to rot in the caged institution they are forced

This led to stagflation and high unemployment. This stagflation let to the discomfort and discontent in
the prison system. Prisons felt the effects of this oil shortage as well and led to their want to further
voice their opinions. But, as if theses conditions weren t bad enough, we were also going through a
political reform as well as dealing with the end of the Great Society era. Things were bad both inside
and outside prison walls. Prisoners heard about the incredibly horrific conditions outside of their walls
and believed that they should be allowed to do, or at least say something about it.
Conditions inside the prison were no better. For starters, many of the prisoners were those who had
committed menial crimes. Worse so, many were war heroes, back from Vietnam who couldn t find a
job and thus had to go about other illegal means to stay alive, and thus were thrown in prison. Attica
prison in particular was famous at the time among prisoners for having the most horrific treatment of
their inmates. Guards did whatever they could both legally and illegally to keep their prisoners in
perpetual fear and discomfort. The prisoners were not just treated like children, but as animals. The
one thing prisoners treasure the most is their contact with the outside world. It keeps them sane and
allows them to remain in some type of contact both with their families as well as with what is going
on outside the prison walls. But, guards did whatever

Economics Assesment Task 2010 Essays
Synopsis:
In 2009, the world experienced a Global Financial Crisis (GFC) which caused recession in most
advanced nations around the world. In an effort to combat this, the Australian Government created a
Stimulus Package to increase aggregate demand. The treasurer, Wayne Swan proposed that $42 billion
would be given to both individuals and businesses to lessen the impact of a recession. The package
included a one off $950 payment to low and middle income families, individuals, famers, students and
other groups. The Stimulus Package was also aimed at the construction of new buildings and
upgrades, as well as roadworks. The Government also intended to give 9,540 schools around the
country, a grant to build a new hall or canteen. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Macroeconomic policies are used to maintain and smooth out the fluctuation of the business cycle to
keep the growth rate constant. There are two types of macroeconomic policy, Fiscal and Monitary.
Fiscal Policy is a macro policy that allows the Government to increase or decrease the amount of
economic growth by either increasing or reducing the level of taxation and Government spending. The
annual budget is an example of fiscal policy. Fiscal policy takes a long time to implement as it can
only be changed every 12 months but goes into effect immediately.
The Monetary Policy is used to influence the amount of growth sustained in an economy. Things such
as interest rates and overnight loans force people to spend or save to control the amount of growth.
These rates however, are not controlled by the Government, but a separate government funded
organization called the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA). Its role is to maintain financial stability and
to ensure that the flow of funds between savers and investors is smooth and steady, as well as to
increase economic growth safely. The interest rates are changed every month and are quick to
implement, but take a long time to go into effect. Microeconomic Reforms are also used to maintain

Disadvantages of World Trade Organization (Wto)
Disadvantages of World Trade Organization (WTO)
1. The WTO only serves the interests of transnational corporations
The WTO is as democratic as its member governments; and between the members it is ultra
democratic because decisions are taken by consensus all members have to be persuaded. The rules are
written by member governments, no one else has access to the negotiations. However, governments,
which are elected democratically by their citizens, do take into account the views of various groups in
their societies. How they do that is up to them and their citizens. Governments regularly cite pressure
from consumer, environmental, human rights and labor organizations, as well as business. The
structure of negotiations also helps ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
7. The WTO undermines local development and penalizes poor countries
Most favored nation treatment means non discrimination between countries. Equal treatment is an
overwhelmingly important and useful principle for both fairness and efficiency. Most favored nation
does not mean treating all corporations equally. A government can reward or penalize corporations,
but the same criteria for doing this must normally apply to all foreign companies. (There are some
constraints on what those rules might say.)
8. The WTO is increasing inequality Free trade is not working for the majority of the world. During a
most recent period of rapid growth in global trade and investment 1960 to 1998 inequality worsened
both internationally and within countries. The UN Development Program reports that the richest 20
percent of the world s population consume 86 percent of the world s resources while the poorest 80
percent consume just 14 percent. WTO rules have hastened these trends by opening up countries to
foreign investment and thereby making it easier for production to go where the labor is cheapest and
most easily exploited and environmental costs are low. This pulls down wages and environmental
standards in developed countries that have to compete globally.
9. The WTO undermines national sovereignty By creating a supranational court system that has the
power to economically sanction countries to force them to comply with its rulings, the WTO has

Pros And Cons Of School Blocking Students
Professor Sam Wineburg of Stanford University adamantly opposes the practice of schools blocking
students from certain websites and databases such as Wikipedia, Twitter, and Instagram. Dr. Wineburg
suggests that if students only have access to information chosen and filtered by the institution, their
ability to choose what to believe, and how to think will not develop. If students do not have access to
sites such as Wikipedia, once they are able to browse freely, they will be unable to tell what is reliable.
By imposing these restrictions, schools are failing to allow students to think freely. More importantly,
they are depriving students of furthering their intelligence by choosing themselves what information is
valid and what is not. These constraints essentially tell students what to believe; therefore, once they
go beyond classroom doors and browse freely, they will be incapable of finding sources on their own.
Furthermore, blocking sites only worsens the spread of fake news, since students believe everything
they read. I agree with Dr. Wineburg in that schools should not block certain websites. Blocking
students from sources or only allowing certain online databases not only limits students ability to
expand their knowledge, but harms their free thinking and forces them to believe the information
placed in front of them, ultimately contributing to students spreading fake news.
Dr. Wineburg s opposition to schools blocking students from unvetted websites is backed by

Catapulting though Time Physics Essay
Catapulting though Time Physics
Hurling an object towards one s enemy may seem as old as time itself. People have hurled fists at each
other, thrown spears, and launched giant rocks into enemy territory. The use of catapults, and other
objects that hurl projectiles, also seem as old as human civilization itself. The effectiveness of the
catapult in flinging objects over a great distance and causing destruction is due to a few basic physics
principals that govern force, energy, motion, speed and mass to name a few. The design of the catapult
denotes a change in modern warfare to the engineer behind weapons being just as important as the
actual soldiers and people who use them.
Projectile throwing machines are found in three main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We can look at the catapult as a lever which is meant to change direction and/or multiply the force that
is applied to the projectile. A lever has three locations: the fulcrum, on which the lever arm rotates; the
load, where the mass is located on the lever arm; and the effort, where the force, a push or pull, is
applied (Vogel 178). It is meant to throw an object a certain horizontal distance in a certain, short time
frame so that its impact would be greater than just a human hurling a giant rock at a building. We
might intrinsically know this. Probably no mechanical device is older than the lever; simple and
versatile, it s no doubt older than we humans, mentions Steve Vogel in Cat s Paws and Catapults
(Vogel 178). If a larger kid jumps from a tree onto a seesaw with a smaller child will be launched into
the air. The physics principals that govern the catapult also govern force, mass, speed and acceleration,
rotational motion, and projectile motion. From these principals we find out what the optimum
projectile mass, lever arm length, time, and launch angle which would produce optimum speed,
impact, and horizontal distance traveled by the projectile.
Speeding up or slowing down anything that has mass takes force, according to Vogel and this means
force must be applied to the projectile (Vogel 198). Force, merely a push or pull, is applied to the
effort of the lever and is mass times acceleration, which we can

What is the Fourth Industrial Revolution and how it is important?
The developments and transformations of technological revolutions, from the First Industrial
Revolution to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, have plays important roles and significantly influences
our working environments, social commutations, and economic development (Schwab, 2016).
Following by the breakthrough of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the expanding of digital platform

What are the impacts and challenges faced by the Fourth Industrial Revolution?
Schwab (2016) said that there are three aspects, included business, people, and government that
closely tied together and promote the development of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. These aspects
not only require us to develop innovated and collaborative mindsets of skills, but also needs to have

Richard Adams exceptional construction of setting in Watership Down greatly assists the preservation
of this literary masterpiece. Although being set specifically in the British countryside, Adams vivid

from a reader of any background. The dire consequences that arise in this seemingly most unlikely and
tranquil of places assist the narrative in presenting itself as a serious novel that serves as an allegory

Due to the vivid descriptions of the rabbits homeland, the characters personal moments in which they
think about their home that they lost, such as for the first time, Hazel began to realize how much they
had left behind (Chapter 12), reside with the reader on a deeper level. Because the reader was able to
visualize and understand the rabbits home and their connection to it, events that proved troublesome
for the main characters had much more meaning behind them. The reader is also able to draw the
effects that humanity has upon the homes of these characters, and other wildlife that may live in an
area that has been interfered with by man. The actions that humans obliviously and selfishly take have
detrimental effects on the narrative s heroes, such as in Chapter 25, when Hazel attempted to free the
does from the farm and was consequently shot. The humans invasion of the territory of the wildlife of
Watership Down harms the environment and characters that the reader has formed a connection with,
and prompts the reader to ponder the real life consequences of humanity s actions. Ultimately, Adams
vivid recreation of the downs he inhabited as a child allow for deeper understanding and connection
for the reader, however, the setting of the novel also holds greater symbolic meaning.
The setting for Watership Down, more specifically the actual warren of Watership Down, serves as a
symbol that only further enhances

Edward Theodore Gein was born on August 27th in 1906 in the city of La Crosse, Wisconsin. Even at

social insurance is employed requiring everyone to have to have a plan, there are no scheduled

Essay on Racism in Disney Films
What images come to mind as one reflects upon his or her childhood? Playgrounds, blackboards, and
soccer balls may be among the fondest of memories. Yet, for many, mermaids swim their thoughts,
princesses get swept off their feet, and lions roar to their royal place in the animal kingdom. Disney
films have captivated the American culture for years and have become a pivotal part of popular culture
as well as a form of education. However, these films have devoured the youth of America and, in the

According to Carl Hiaasen, The secret weapon is trust. Disney is the most trusted brand name in the
history of marketing. It hooks us when we re little and never lets go; this unshakeable faith that Disney
is the best at knowing what s best. (13) It is time that this myth be shattered. As far back as 1946,
racial stereotyping of African Americans has been evident in Disney films. For instance, in the
American classic Dumbo, the crows depict the typical southern African American with a slow pattern
of speech. In Jungle Book (1967) the monkeys with African American voices are jiving in a crazy
manner because they will never be real men and will always be animals. One of the most tragic
examples of this racism can be seen in the movie Tarzan. In the original making of the movie, the
white man comes to the rescue and tames all of the animals and natives. However, in the new Disney
version of Tarzan (1999), the blacks that obviously inhabit Africa were completely eliminated and
replaced by gorillas with African American voices. African American children whom view these films
have no choice but to resort to relating to these often unintelligent, inferior animals because that is
where they hear themselves. In Mickey Mouse Monopoly, children were asked if they could think of
any black characters in Disney films, sadly they came up short of a single one. It

Abstract
Coaching and leadership seem to be synonymous with each other, in that if you re a high caliber coach
you must be a great leader, how else would you have achieved your success. While coaching in the
NCAA division 1 basketball the goal is to win national championships, while also being a mentor to

(Bob Carter) Integrity is the ability of a leader to live and lead with some principles and take
responsibility for their actions. The ability to possess integrity should build confidence in your team.
Integrity is probably where the two coaches will separate their styles of leadership. Coach Knight
through the years did several things to damage that integrity, through his actions in Panama or ways he
degraded assistant coaches or lecturing teams with the use of props of soiled toilet paper. There were
many times where his actions did not represent the role which he was given and he made little effort to
change unless he was forced. Coach K built much of what he was on his integrity; he stuck up for his
players many times. Once his team was graded by the student paper, it was the fact that the paper
portrayed the players as instruments of entertainment and ego indulgence; this infuriated the coach,
which he later apologized. What Coach K stood for was a caring, communication and trust within the
team, and that was what he wanted for the whole student body, and why his fan base was so strong.
The last important trait style of leadership is the ability for a leader to seek out good pleasant social
relationships. The leader should be thought of as friendly, outgoing, courteous, tactful and diplomatic.
Coach Knight, I believe, started out his career with these traits as

Woolf explains the difference in success between man and woman in two parts. She first explains that
the values of women differ very often from the values of men, and goes on to say that in any case it is
the masculine values that prevail and feminine values are devalued. (Woolf, 1929, 74) Masculine
values soon became a part of society; as males were the only voices heard. Novels discussed males
during the time of war, and spoke of their discoveries and contributions to the world. Since women s
voices were silenced by the need to mimic males, society never got to see the woman s perspectives
on matters. Consequently women altered their own values in deference to the opinion of others.
(Woolf, 1929, 75) For Woolf there is a uniquely female way of writing a woman s sentence. This is
one of Woolf s most provocative claims. She argues that women see and feel and value differently
than men, and that because of this they must also write differently. She praises Jane Austen, who had
devised a perfectly natural, shapely sentence proper for her own use and never departed from it.

Descriptive Essay About Being Beautiful
Later at night as I was brushing my teeth, I began to reflect on my experience being beautiful, thus far.
Okay, truthfully, the pros totally outweighed the cons. I felt semi more confident in myself, the general
public respected me more (sometimes), boys ogled at me (discreetly and not so discreetly), I received
more compliments (mostly on my physical appearance), and I kind of held a certain sense of power.
Why did gorgeous girls complain? They had it way easier. Alright, there were some minimal
downsides but who cares, this was everything I could ever dream for. I spat down into the sink and
inspected my teeth, they were blindingly white. Why was I even brushing them? Scouring my teeth
was not a necessity now other than preventing cavities. I smiled at myself in the mirror, then, carefully
picking up a glass from the sink, I drank some water and sloshed it around in my mouth before
spitting it out again. Much better, I was now ready for bed.
Turning off the light, I exited the restroom and crossed the hall toward my room, but when I entered
inside, I was mildly mortified to see my mother sitting on my bed.
Mother, I gasped. Can I help you?
Sarah, she smiled, scrunching her nose. Sit down. And she patted the spot of bed beside her. Note to
self, that was an image I never wanted to view again. But, like the little obedient angel that I was, I
complied.

Keep in mind that baby boomers were the first generation to grow up on television and credit cards (O
Neill, 1991). Lusardi (2009) noted that most individuals deal frequently with credit cards and other
forms of borrowing yet only a minority of individuals possess basic financial knowledge about debt.
The previous generation used credit as the ultimate last resort while baby boomers were conditioned to
be much more comfortable with credit. For many baby boomers, their idea of saving is buying more to
receive a discount on the purchase. The concept of saving first and paying cash has been replaced with
the concept of you can have anything your heart desires today as long as it is within your credit limit.

Judge John G. Davies, who handled the case, did not try to hide his sympathy for the defendants.
Davies excluded evidence of racist comments made by the officers from the trial record. He also made
several statements, saying that he too believed the incident....would not have occurred at all, but for
Mr. King s initial misconduct. Davies elaborated on his beliefs when he stated, Mr. King, a paroled
felon, who had fled from police and resisted arrest, bore much of the responsibility for the beating.
Judge Davies obviously had sided with the officers, describing them as having distinguished records
of public service even though he knew that each man had been involved in at least one prior criminal
incident. He made his loyalties even more evident when he said Mr. King had no serious injuries . He
was only hit in the head or the face once, possibly inadvertently. King s facial injuries included a
broken cheekbone, a broken orbit (eye socket), and 11 skull fractures. When making an appearance on
L.A. Burning: 25 Years Later Rodney King s attorney, Steve Lerman, told interviewers that the
injuries of Rodney King s skull caused massive brain damage. In addition, the trial itself was moved

How Did Mrs Gruwell Cause Diversity In Freedom Writers
In the movie, Freedom Writers, Mrs. Gruwell is a new teacher who is very excited about her first year
of teaching high school, but she encounters students who do not share that same excitement, because
they are looked down upon by other teachers for being unteachable . The students attend a very
diverse high school, but rather than look at that diversity as a blessing they each felt threatened by it
and were taught to defend their own . The socialization of the students in the movie was a direct cause
of the lifestyle that they were raised in. The teens lived in a community that was filled with violence
and as a result they were put in a survival of the fittest situation. The teens did what they knew they
had to do, regardless if it was

Mnemonic Strategy
The mnemonic strategy proved to be effective for use in an all inclusive high school social studies
class (Fontana, Scruggs, Mastropieri, 2007). The participating class of 59 students included 13 pupils

whom identified themselves as either European American (n=33), African American (n = 10),
Hispanic (n = 11), Asian Pacific Islander (n = 4), or Multiracial (n = 1) (Fontana, Scruggs,

Researchers tested how team based learning (TBL) strategies affected the performance and attitudes of
college students in a sociology class (Killian Bastas, 2015). More specifically, they compared student
performance and attitudes in a sociology class that employed TBL strategies to that of sociology class
that used lecture based learning (LBL) strategies (Killian Bastas, 2015). The number of participants in
the study was 86, however, 12 students did not complete their attitude survey; therefore the research
was based off of 74 students (Killian Bastas, 2015). The LBL classes included 31 of the total
participants, and 43 students were included in the TBL classes (Killian Bastas, 2015). Of the total
participants, 53 were females and 21 were males (Killian Bastas, 2015). TBL was described as an
active learning strategy that upheld team interconnections and individual accountability (Killian
Bastas, 2015). The structure of the LBL classes began with lectures and followed by PowerPoint
presentations (Killian Bastas, 2015). The TBL classes operated on four principals: proper team
development and management, individual and team based accountability, curriculum support of
education through team management, and prompt routine follow up (Killian Bastas, 2015). The TBL
students completed Individual Readiness Assessment Tests (i RAT), which held the

The Theory Of Corporate Social Responsibility
Historical background of the development of CSR is almost as important as the ongoing discussion on
what CSR is and how and where it should operate. Many scholars argue that these are not
interchangeable and need to be assessed in conjunction with each other. For purposes of this paper it is
pivotal to look into the past to see what stood behind the broadening of companies accountability
beyond the standard agency theory (limited liability of shareholders for the company s violations or
breach and the company s main accountability being towards its shareholders and investors only) to
the stakeholder theory (company s accountability towards a broad range of stakeholders, including
employees, environment and local communities). The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This at the time was widely opposed by proponents of corporate isolation as a highly irrelevant
research topic that went in no parallel or connection with the idea of a corporate veil, charter
accountability and the sole purpose of any company to bring profits to its shareholders. This reverts us
back to the development of a stakeholder theory that gradually gained its speed in the 1970s . It soon
found its implementation in Freeman s management discipline , who promoted the expansion of firms
accountability towards a broader range of stakeholders. One of the examples of how attitude towards
CSR by multinational corporations has changed was raised by Lee, when he reviewed corporate
governance codes and practices of Ford . He used two instances in the history of corporate actions of
Ford with an interval of 80 years in between them. Keeping in mind the abovementioned Clark s
remarks on corporate accountability back in 1916, this becomes even more educational, as it shows a
dramatic change in shareholders perception of their business as a service to the broader society. There,
in 1919 Ford was faced with a lawsuit, as a result of which it agreed to grant Dodge brothers their
request to receive maximum dividends . The respective court decision was an indirect ridicule of

Stteric Acid Purcules In A Monolayer
Purpose In this experiment, the different lengths of a steric acid molecules in a monolayer were
measured to determine Avogadro s number. The number of drops of stearic acid were calculated to see
how much it will take to make a monolayer on the surface of water on the dish. (Goldwhite and
Tikkanen)
Theory
The stearic acid is obtained from animal fats. The molecular formula is C17H35COOH and its
composed of a hydrophilic acid group, COOH, and a hydrocarbon chain C17H35. The long
hydrocarbon chain is like lubrication oil, because it does not have any affinity for water. In other
words, when the stearic acid becomes in contact with water it doesn t mix in water. The hydrophobic
chain floats upwards in a vertical position in the solution. (ChemSkills) When the stearic acid was
dropped to the water it spreads across the surface until it creates a monolayer, a one molecule thick
layer. The volume of stearic acid was calculated by determining the number of drops used to create the
monolayer on the dish by using the following equation:
V=(number of drops in monolayer ×(1 mL)/(drops per mL)×(concentration of stearic acid)/(1
mL))/(density of stearic acid)
We calculated the surface area of the dish to determine the length of one molecule by using the
following equations:
〖Surface Area〗_dish=π(d/2)^2
Length_(stearic acid)=V_monolayer/〖Surface Area〗_dish
The hydrocarbon chain is the part of the stearic acid molecules to form the monolayer of thickness L.
We assumed that

In other words, an efficient capital market is one in which stock prices fully reflect available information. Best example recently would be the internet stocks from 1996 through 2002 where the price of the internet stock roses over its fair value until the market forces the price back to its original level (Russell J. Fuller 1995). The above argument can fall into the theory of representativeness and conservatism. The principle of representativeness implies overweighting the results of small sample. Financial economists have argued that representativeness leads to overreaction in stock returns (Eugene Fama F1998). In the case of internet companies, great revenue growth for a short time in the late 1990s, causing many to believe that this growth would continue indefinitely. Stock prices rose (too much) at this point. When, at last, investors realized that this growth could not be sustained, prices plummeted. On the other hand, the theory of conservatism states that individuals adjust their beliefs too slowly to new information. A market composed of this type of investor would likely lead to stock prices that under react in the presence of new information. This is shown in the example of earning surprises . It could be said that both representativeness and conservatism have opposite implications for stock prices. Fama reviewed the academic studies on anomalies, finding that about half of them show overreaction and about half show under reaction. Roethke describes the cherished image of the woman that he loves and admires in many ways, and thoughtful tone also describes her as lovely in her bones ( ). He has compared her virtues with a goddess by using the phrase of whom only God could speak ( ). The dual meaning underlying the poem are the foundation and help to intertwine the rest of the poem in a gracefully way. A woman s beauty is more than skin deep and is a fundamental part of herself and what she is inside. In contrast with Bishop s poem One Art, the author does a perfect job negating the impact the feeling of loss has in a person. All throughout the poem Bishop tries to convince herself that losing is part of life. Her argumentations are irrational in some sense, with her tone she is trying to be indifferent to what she is feeling deep inside. In the last stanza, she changes her tone and admits that losing the beloved has a profound effect and brings disaster to her soul. Both poems use different tools to describe emotions; both authors use double meaning, hyperbole, repetition, and irony. Both poems talk about love in different ways. One is remembering the loved one and the other one is trying to convince herself to be strong because that beloved person is not there ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Whereas a person cannot be physically evil, psychologically anything can become evil through personal means. When someone is born, they cannot be evil; it is through actions and repercussions that decide whether or not a person is deemed evil. Macbeth is a book of deception between trusting peers, yet even still, one deceives the other for personal gain and ends up paying the consequences for his actions with what he values most in life. One example of an evil character that everyone presumes is evil, would be Macbeth: a leader of the lands, served his country as a true patriot. He was possibly not viewed as a good person by his enemies, but by his people he was viewed as a true inspirational leader. But with greed, comes loss. Thus he was able to taint himself black and commit his sins. Evil may not always be viewed this way however, in recent studies of the brain, researchers have found that evil people have amygdalae smaller than the average person or ones that don t function at all. This brings up the point of the situation of a person and their actions. If a person with a deformed or dysfunctional amygdalae commits acts of murder, it would not entirely be their fault. This paper examines the play for instances of irony and surveys their interpretation by critics. Howard Felperin comments on Hamlet s ironic consciousness of the fact that he is unable to quickly execute the command of the ghost: Eliot s unhappy judgments are worth considering here, if only because they are based on an intuition of Shakespeare s creative process that is so near to and yet so far from the one presupposed in the present essay. Recently the spectral likeness of dead King Hamlet has appeared to the sentinels. Tonight the ghost appears again to Barnardo, Marcellus and Horatio, a very close friend of Hamlet. Horatio and Marcellus exit the ramparts of Elsinore intending to enlist the aid of Hamlet, who is home from school, dejected by the o erhasty marriage of his mother to his uncle less than two months after the funeral of Hamlet s father (Gordon 128). There is a post coronation social gathering of the court, where Claudius pays tribute to the memory of his deceased brother, the former king, and then, along with Queen Gertrude, conducts some items of business, for example dispatching Cornelius and Voltemand to Norway to settle the Fortinbras affair, addressing Polonius and Laertes on the subject of the latter s return to school abroad. Right at the outset of the drama, there is irony exhibited in the manner in which Shakespeare characterizes King Claudius he is simply stupendous and yet, shortly hereafter, he is revealed as a truly evil, thoroughly diabolical sort. • 9. Suicide In Romeo And Juliet Essay One of the most famous and most controversial love stories is the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. It is the tale of two youthful lovers who are morosely born into two families who have been enemies for decades. The story closes with Romeo and Juliet both dead; both victims to a gruesome duo suicide. The pair both commit suicide because of the struggle of them not being approved to be together by their families. The catastrophe can be blamed three different ways: on Friar Lawrence, on the Capulet family, and on the Montague family. All three of these accusations are truthful, because all three of them have a part in the misfortune that could have influenced the outcome. The blame can be placed on Friar Lawrence because he had the chance to unite the two families, but instead he allows the elaborate plan to develop. Primitively, he married the pair in hopes to unite the two families through their love. But, the plan changed after Romeo is banished. Friar Lawrence devises an ... Lord Capulet declares that he will disown Juliet if she does not wed Paris. This action is the reason that Juliet seeks help from Friar Lawrence. If the Capulets were not so forceful with Juliet, she probably would not have been desperate enough to perform Friar Lawrence s plan. • 15. Hamlet Soliloquies Analysis All seven soliloquies in the play are based on several common themes such as death, incest, pain, fear, emptiness of existence, and pride and hypocrisy that make us human. To create these themes and further develop character, Shakespeare uses certain techniques. First of all, Shakespeare employs blank verse to create a smooth flowing rhythm and cadence. He masterfully switches back and forth between fast and slow pace by utilizing both short choppy sentences and fluent long ones. Secondly, it is clear that the soliloquies do not waste any word. Each syllable and sound adds depth to the development of Hamlet. Each soliloquy successfully conveys to the reader Hamlet s state of mind and intensity of his emotion. Most importantly, the soliloquies reveal something special that the play itself does no t. Just by looking at the play separately, it i s very hard for readers to notice the character development that Hamlet goes through. For instance, the beginning soliloquies prove that Hamlet is indecisive and irresolute. Thus, it i s the soliloquy found in each aAct of the play that readers can watch Hamlet grow internally. As an uptight and hypersensitive individual, Hamlet never seems to reveal much about his thoughts throughout the whole play. In fact, since Hamlet is inclined to express his emotions in a physically interactive way, including his abusive interaction with his mother and aggressive physical contact with Laertes and Claudius, it is rather difficult for the audience to interpret his intentions and his thoughts. His soliloquies, however, are the only ways in which the audience can finally gain an understanding of his thoughts. This soliloquy, also being the first, reveals him to be thoroughly disgusted with Gertrude, Claudius, and the world in general. This is when the King Claudius and Queen Gertrude urges Hamlet in the open court to cast off the deep melancholy which, as they think, has taken possession of his mind as a consequence of his father s death. In their opinion, Hamlet has sufficiently grieved for his father s death already. Prior to the soliloquy, King Claudius and Queen Gertrude announce their marriage, as according to them, the court cannot afford excessive grief, which further saddens ... The WTO is increasing inequality Free trade is not working for the majority of the world. During a most recent period of rapid growth in global trade and investment 1960 to 1998 inequality worsened both internationally and within countries. The UN Development Program reports that the richest 20 percent of the world s population consume 86 percent of the world s resources while the poorest 80 percent consume just 14 percent. WTO rules have hastened these trends by opening up countries to foreign investment and thereby making it easier for production to go where the labor is cheapest and most easily exploited and environmental costs are low. Pros And Cons Of School Blocking Students Professor Sam Wineburg of Stanford University adamantly opposes the practice of schools blocking students from certain websites and databases such as Wikipedia, Twitter, and Instagram. Dr. Wineburg suggests that if students only have access to information chosen and filtered by the institution, their ability to choose what to believe, and how to think will not develop. If students do not have access to sites such as Wikipedia, once they are able to browse freely, they will be unable to tell what is reliable. By imposing these restrictions, schools are failing to allow students to think freely. More importantly, they are depriving students of furthering their intelligence by choosing themselves what information is valid and what is not. These constraints essentially tell students what to believe; therefore, once they go beyond classroom doors and browse freely, they will be incapable of finding sources on their own. Furthermore, blocking sites only worsens the spread of fake news, since students believe everything they read. I agree with Dr. Wineburg in that schools should not block certain websites. Blocking students from sources or only allowing certain online databases not only limits students ability to expand their knowledge, but harms their free thinking and forces them to believe the information placed in front of them, ultimately contributing to students spreading fake news. People have hurled fists at each other, thrown spears, and launched giant rocks into enemy territory. The use of catapults, and other objects that hurl projectiles, also seem as old as human civilization itself. The effectiveness of the catapult in flinging objects over a great distance and causing destruction is due to a few basic physics principals that govern force, energy, motion, speed and mass to name a few. The design of the catapult denotes a change in modern warfare to the engineer behind weapons being just as important as the actual soldiers and people who use them. Projectile throwing machines are found in three main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We can look at the catapult as a lever which is meant to change direction and/or multiply the force that is applied to the projectile. A lever has three locations: the fulcrum, on which the lever arm rotates; the load, where the mass is located on the lever arm; and the effort, where the force, a push or pull, is applied (Vogel 178). It is meant to throw an object a certain horizontal distance in a certain, short time frame so that its impact would be greater than just a human hurling a giant rock at a building. We might intrinsically know this. Probably no mechanical device is older than the lever; simple and versatile, it s no doubt older than we humans, mentions Steve Vogel in Cat s Paws and Catapults (Vogel 178). If a larger kid jumps from a tree onto a seesaw with a smaller child will be launched into the air. The physics principals that govern the catapult also govern force, mass, speed and acceleration, rotational motion, and projectile motion. From these principals we find out what the optimum projectile mass, lever arm length, time, and launch angle which would produce optimum speed, impact, and horizontal distance traveled by the projectile. Speeding up or slowing down anything that has mass takes force, according to Vogel and this means force must be applied to the projectile (Vogel 198). Although being set specifically in the British countryside, Adams vivid recreation of the area and landscape that he knew best allows for clear visualization and understanding from a reader of any background. The dire consequences that arise in this seemingly most unlikely and tranquil of places assist the narrative in presenting itself as a serious novel that serves as an allegory for issues that arise in contemporary life and society. Due to the vivid descriptions of the rabbits homeland, the characters personal moments in which they think about their home that they lost, such as for the first time, Hazel began to realize how much they had left behind (Chapter 12), reside with the reader on a deeper level. Because the reader was able to visualize and understand the rabbits home and their connection to it, events that proved troublesome for the main characters had much more meaning behind them. The reader is also able to draw the effects that humanity has upon the homes of these characters, and other wildlife that may live in an area that has been interfered with by man. The actions that humans obliviously and selfishly take have detrimental effects on the narrative s heroes, such as in Chapter 25, when Hazel attempted to free the does from the farm and was consequently shot. The humans invasion of the territory of the wildlife of Watership Down harms the environment and characters that the reader has formed a connection with, and prompts the reader to ponder the real life consequences of humanity s actions. Ultimately, Adams vivid recreation of the downs he inhabited as a child allow for deeper understanding and connection for the reader, however, the setting of the novel also holds greater symbolic meaning. Upon moving to a small farm outside Plainfield, his father was always working whether it was as a carpenter and tanner, or at the farm. When he isn t working however, he is drinking. As such, he is not around for the major family decisions, leaving them to Ed s mother Augusta, whom was very religious. Ed s father died in 1940. Four years later, his brother Henry died whilst battling fires. That left Ed and his mother. But sadly, that was shortly lived as his mother died from a stroke that same year. Compare And Contrast Healthcare And Us Healthcare How is the US health care system both similar to and different from the health care systems of Britain, Tokyo, Germany, Taiwan, and Switzerland? The US health care system has a considerable amount of differences when compared to these countries. In the Japanese health care system, social insurance is employed requiring everyone to have to have a plan, there are no scheduled appointments walk ins only, fixed prices for procedures are decided for all hospitals by a yearly review board, and doctors don t get paid near as much as US doctors. Yet, for many, mermaids swim their thoughts, princesses get swept off their feet, and lions roar to their royal place in the animal kingdom. Disney films have captivated the American culture for years and have become a pivotal part of popular culture as well as a form of education. However, these films have devoured the youth of America and, in the process; have perpetuated an institutionally racist society based on harsh stereotypes. It hooks us when we re little and never lets go; this unshakeable faith that Disney is the best at knowing what s best. (13) It is time that this myth be shattered. As far back as 1946, racial stereotyping of African Americans has been evident in Disney films. For instance, in the American classic Dumbo, the crows depict the typical southern African American with a slow pattern of speech. In Jungle Book (1967) the monkeys with African American voices are jiving in a crazy manner because they will never be real men and will always be animals. One of the most tragic examples of this racism can be seen in the movie Tarzan. In the original making of the movie, the white man comes to the rescue and tames all of the animals and natives. However, in the new Disney version of Tarzan (1999), the blacks that obviously inhabit Africa were completely eliminated and replaced by gorillas with African American voices. African American children whom view these films have no choice but to resort to relating to these often unintelligent, inferior animals because that is where they hear themselves. In Mickey Mouse Monopoly, children were asked if they could think of any black characters in Disney films, sadly they came up short of a single one. It ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

(Bob Carter) Integrity is the ability of a leader to live and lead with some principles and take responsibility for their actions. The ability to possess integrity should build confidence in your team. Integrity is probably where the two coaches will separate their styles of leadership. Coach Knight through the years did several things to damage that integrity, through his actions in Panama or ways he degraded assistant coaches or lecturing teams with the use of props of soiled toilet paper. There were many times where his actions did not represent the role which he was given and he made little effort to change unless he was forced. Coach K built much of what he was on his integrity; he stuck up for his players many times. Once his team was graded by the student paper, it was the fact that the paper portrayed the players as instruments of entertainment and ego indulgence; this infuriated the coach, which he later apologized. What Coach K stood for was a caring, communication and trust within the team, and that was what he wanted for the whole student body, and why his fan base was so strong. The last important trait style of leadership is the ability for a leader to seek out good pleasant social relationships. The leader should be thought of as friendly, outgoing, courteous, tactful and diplomatic. Coach Knight, I believe, started out his career with these traits as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Woolf explains the difference in success between man and woman in two parts. She first explains that the values of women differ very often from the values of men, and goes on to say that in any case it is the masculine values that prevail and feminine values are devalued. (Woolf, 1929, 74) Masculine values soon became a part of society; as males were the only voices heard. Novels discussed males during the time of war, and spoke of their discoveries and contributions to the world. Since women s voices were silenced by the need to mimic males, society never got to see the woman s perspectives on matters. Consequently women altered their own values in deference to the opinion of others. (Woolf, 1929, 75) For Woolf there is a uniquely female way of writing a woman s sentence. This is one of Woolf s most provocative claims. She argues that women see and feel and value differently than men, and that because of this they must also write differently. She praises Jane Austen, who had devised a perfectly natural, shapely sentence proper for her own use and never departed from it. (Woolf, 1929, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The number of drops of stearic acid were calculated to see how much it will take to make a monolayer on the surface of water on the dish. (Goldwhite and Tikkanen) Theory The stearic acid is obtained from animal fats. The molecular formula is C17H35COOH and its composed of a hydrophilic acid group, COOH, and a hydrocarbon chain C17H35. The long hydrocarbon chain is like lubrication oil, because it does not have any affinity for water. In other words, when the stearic acid becomes in contact with water it doesn t mix in water. The hydrophobic chain floats upwards in a vertical position in the solution. (ChemSkills) When the stearic acid was dropped to the water it spreads across the surface until it creates a monolayer, a one molecule thick layer. The volume of stearic acid was calculated by determining the number of drops used to create the monolayer on the dish by using the following equation: V=(number of drops in monolayer ×(1 mL)/(drops per mL)×(concentration of stearic acid)/(1 mL))/(density of stearic acid) We calculated the surface area of the dish to determine the length of one molecule by using the following equations: 〖Surface Area〗_dish=π(d/2)^2 Length_(stearic acid)=V_monolayer/〖Surface Area〗_dish The hydrocarbon chain is the part of the stearic acid molecules to form the monolayer of thickness L.
