SAT Testing Research Paper
SAT test preparation might not produce desired results if it does not teach you strategies to solve
problems in the right way. Most students who undergo SAT test preparation are pretty familiar
with the SAT test pattern. Being good at one of the sections does not guarantee a good SAT exam
score. To aid you in your SAT test
preparation let me share with you a few strategies that I also use
in my tutoring.
Let us talk about the Math section first. The SAT test, according to many, carries complex math
problems. This is far from being true. Actually, SAT math consists of basic math questions. Unlike
many other tests, the SAT does not ask questions from pre calculus, calculus or trigonometry. This
does not at all mean that you would encounter

Euthanasi Assisted Suicide And Euthanasia Essay
Physician Assisted Suicide
Framing the Issue
Many legal, ethical and personal issues and dilemmas have been identified in relation to physician
assisted suicide and euthanasia. Issues such as whether physician assisted suicide or euthanasia is
ethically acceptable, or what criterion is legally and socially necessary to determine whether a
person can receive assisted suicide measures to end ones life. A variety of literature reviews have
been created to address this topic and generate knowledge and information for health care
professionals. With this in mind, there are many phrases associated and utilized synonymously with
the term physician assisted suicide that need to be addressed such as physician assisted death,
euthanasia, and aid in dying, however each has been defined separately throughout the literature.
Westefeld et al., (2013) and Landry, Foreman and Kekewich (2015) define physician assisted death
as voluntary termination of life through the administration, from the person requesting termination,
of a lethal dose to end ones life. The Canadian Medical Association (2014) refers to euthanasia as
the practice of knowingly and intentionally performing an act with or without consent, that is
explicitly intended to end another person life (p. 2) by a physician. Lastly, aid is dying is the
request of a prescription for medication; provided by a physician, that patients can self administer
to end ones life peacefully (American Nurses Association [ANA], 2013). For

The Bim Capabilities And Bim Maturity Level
Project: To assess the BIM capabilities and BIM Maturity Level. Having established exiting BIM
maturity level, propose measures for achieving level 2 BIM by 2016.
According to the Government Construction Strategy document in 2011, the Government will
require fully collaborative Level 2 3D BIM (with all project and asset information, documentation
and data being electronic) as a mini¬¬¬¬¬mum by 2016.
For the three weeks I am working at the London Bridge office of Jacob s, I intend to:
Understand exactly what BIM is and the basic criteria for each BIM level.
Evaluate where Jacob s is in relation to these BIM levels.
Suggest improvements as to how Jacob s can reach the Government s target by 2016.
The use of level 2 BIM in all public sector construction work is imperative as it affects everybody
on a day to day basis. Using BIM software will not only reduce the amount of time spent at the
construction site, but it will also reduce costs due to errors. One of the current projects Jacob s
is working on using BIM software is the Crossrail (Europe s largest construction project). This
will increase London s rail capacity by 10 per cent and bring 1.5 million new commuters , not to
mention bringing an estimated 42 billion to the UK economy and creating 30,000 jobs. Due to
the use of some aspects of BIM, the process of creating the Crossrail will not only be faster and
more efficient but will also help the UK s economy.

Traction Alopecia In Children
Children are just as susceptible to traction alopecia as adults are. The causes of traction alopecia
in children are similar to grown ups. Hairstyles such as pigtails, cornrows and braiding the hair
can cause hair loss in kids. When a child s hair is repeatedly styled tightly, over a period of time hair
follicles become damaged and incapable of producing healthy hairs. The hair folliclemay become so
damaged that it stops producing hairs altogether. Hair loss occurs in the areas of the scalp that are
pulled the most, usually at the front hair line, the nape of the neck and crown.
Traction alopecia in children can be treated in a similar fashion to the way it is treated in adults. In
fact children have a much better chance of regrowing hair ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Getting into the habit of gently massaging the child s scalp will speed up their hair regrowth. It is
best to use a lubricating agent such as oil to eliminate any friction which may cause further
damage to the scalp or hair follicles. Bhringaraj oil or virgin coconut oil make excellent massage
oils for the scalp and can also double up as deep conditioning hair treatments.
Following these rules will ensure more hair doesn t fall out because of the excessive force applied
to the hair follicles and that further harm isn t caused to the follicles by the use of inappropriate hair
products. Stick with gentle products and stimulate hair growth by increasing scalp circulation
through regular massages to give the hair follicles a chance to heal themselves and start producing

The Goal Of The Accounting And Audit Professions Essay
The goal of the accounting and audit professions is to provide statements and information on behalf
of a firm that are reliable and relevant to users. In order to accomplish this goal, the accounting and
audit professions have continuously evolved in order to meet the needs of said users. In this new
age of accounting, we feel the need for accountants and auditors to further modify their
methodology and process. With the focus of accounting and auditing staying the same, we in the
profession must be sure to strive to produce valuable information to the end users. First we will
discuss the importance of intangibles and their value to a company. This value is being under
disclosed using traditional accounting methods, and therefore the accounting profession must be
modified in order to properly value intangibles when presenting users with the finished financial
statements. Secondly, this paper will divulge into how the effects of corporate disclosures through
new media may inadvertently force auditing profession to adapt accordingly. Due to corporations
having the ability to disclose earnings using new media, the users of this information need to be
able to recognize that it is trustworthy. Lastly, the idea of new emerging technologies causing the
auditing profession to change will be discussed. While companies have yet to adapt the mainstream
use of computer systems, the future of bookkeeping will most likely be done entirely by computer
systems, thereby rendering the

The Military Sector Of The Marine Corps
We are losing some of our best Machinists and Welders after their first enlistment due to the
lucrative options available in the civilian sector and the lack of opportunities to display their
innovative nature in the Marine Corps. An additive and subtractive fabricator in the trenches would
serve to be an asset to commanders, because he/she will not be limited by technology or lack of
expertise. Both of these specialties present an opportunity to exploit manufacturing capabilities.
After all, exploitation is a human endeavor and until unmanned technologies take over completely,
is it not the Marines using the technologies that are the assets? In the civilian sector, experience is
often necessary in most fields; however, machiningand... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, the opportunities to exploit machining and welding capabilities disappear along with the
opportunities to pass down their knowledge and skills through guidance and mentoring.
Interestingly enough the current manpower structure places these two MOS side by side in every
ESB, Maintenance battalion and Ground Ordnance Vehicle Battalions. In an effort to challenge the
status quo and to continue on with the Commandant guidance; what benefits could arise if these
two specialties are aligned together and be allowed to merge at the fifteen year mark?
These two specialties share similar skills in terms of fabrication and metallurgy, including a
thorough understanding of the physical and mechanical properties of metals. They both have a
strong understanding of structural design and manufacturing regardless of material. And one
particular aspect that is often overlooked is the ability to be critical thinkers, as this is inherent
with artistic creation (White, Robinson 2001). Additionally, all the processes used in machining
and welding require a level of critical thinking and creativity in order to maximize efforts and
resources. The current employment of these two specialties is minimal while in garrison; however,
while forward deployed, these specialties become an integral part of combat innovation. Their
creativity and ingenuity have made a significant impact in the

Army Mandatory Essay
When it comes to the topic of military service being mandatory, most of us would readily agree that
it s a debatable topic. Where this argument usually ends, however, is on the question of violating
free will. Whereas some are convinced that making military service mandatory offers good
opportunities and promotes national unity, others maintain that it violates free will because it doesn
t give them an option. Though I concede that a person might not want to be in the militaryand
shouldn t be forced to, I still insist that making military service mandatory can help people make a
better step in life, and promote national unity. When it comes to military promoting nation unity,
people don t think of the many ways it can show that our country cares about standing strong
together, and making sure that we all stand by one another to fight for this country. According to
List of Pros of Military Service , Mandatory military service promotes national unity by allowing
citizens to learn and train together, creating that shared experience of having served in the military
(1). Basically this statement is saying that people who serve in the military have a bond, so those
who have never served in the military don t understand this bond. The... Show more content on

Graphic Design And The Rate Of Occupational And Sectoral,...
Graphic design is very essential in our everyday life. It is something that pulls in the advertisement
and attracts our eyes for visual. It presents in everywhere that can be found in newspaper,
magazines, books, internet sites, posters, products, arts. Heller and Vienne (p.15) reported that most

communicate ideas that inspire, messages, or beguile consumers. In fact, graphic design is a
complicate work. To be a successful graphic designer can be difficult for emerging practitioners,
as interpersonal skill, soft skills and competition. This essay will analysis three different areas in
graphic design of the rate of occupational and sectoral, career patterns and the challenge and
problems to order to be successful.
Many people consider that graphic design is a the most difficult to get a high salary and find the
job. At this moment, graphic design is turning more popular job in the society. In the last few
decades, graphic designers may be exclusively focused on print media. However, Nowadays the
technology advance, many people started to use computers and mobiles. This is the huge influence

Essay On Surveillance
Justice is dead, extinct, eradicated by those who seek monetary gain as opposed to altruism. Why
would you give the people what they need as well as desire, when instead you could line your
own pockets with capital from corrupt billionaires and businesses? Society has surpassed the point
of complete saturation with these injustices, and now we are on the brink of a catastrophic
dystopian meltdown. With politicians drafting bills to monitor and control the public, government
agencies sidestepping the law in a misguided attempt to achieve justice, and a dishonest
mainstream media trying to sway the public view every step of the way, it is quite a wonder we

their actions, and supported by those who are too powerful to be affected by such policies.
When the options are to damage the future of your community in exchange for copious bribes, or
to vote against such a proposition and be subjected to negative publicity from the supporters of
the proposal, the choice is all too obvious. Arguing that you don t care about the right to privacy
because you have nothing to hide is no different than saying you don t care about free speech

Support Children And Young People s Positive Behavior
Support children and young people s positive behaviour LO 1.2 Describe with examples the
importance of all staff consistently and fairly applying boundaries and rules for children and
young people s behaviour in accordance with the policies of the setting. When working with
children it is important that they know what is expected of them, therefore all staff should apply
the same boundaries and rules for any particular class or age group. It would not be viable to
create a separate set of rules for each individual child as you would end up with a class of up to
thirty children each following a separate set of rules and being. When developing a set of rules it
is important to take into account the group of children s age. A group of children age 4 5 will
need different rules to a group of children age 8 9 as the children will be at different stages in
their development and will therefore have a different understanding of rules and boundaries that
are in place. Children will learn very quickly what is expected of them and what is right and
wrong if all of the adults in their setting use the same rules and boundaries. When inconsistencies
occur children will very easily become confused with the possibility of them withdrawing with the
feeling of being unsure of what is expected of them. It is important that you always treat children
the same to avoid any claims of favouritism or victimisation. This could also lead to the children
perceiving you as someone who lacks control

God Breathed And Is Useful For Teaching, Rebuking,...
16 All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in
righteousness, (2 Timothy 3:16)
It s amazing how similar, and yet how different a couple can be. take my parents for instance. Both
of them enjoyed cooking, but they went about it in completely different ways.
My mother is the, by the book recipe follower. She may deviate if, over time she has found she
had to make some adjustments in seasoning, but by and large she is going to be exact, and do
what the recipe calls for.
My Dad was more the seat of the pants type. If my mother was the classical music type in cooking,
my Dad was the improvisational jazz type. I don t think he ever followed a recipe in his entire
life. He would go to the kitchen, begin looking at what we had and create something. You never
knew what you were going to get but it was usually pretty good.
Two different approaches, but they came up with the same results. They were able to do this
because, while they may have had a different way to go about it, they both still had to follow the
rules of , the physics of cooking. They both knew if you wanted something to taste good, and to be
consistent you had to have the same ingredients. Every time. Leaving out an ingredient could prove
disastrous, and could be the difference between a delicious meal and a disaster.

Book Review: As you Go Creating a Missional Culture of Gospel Centered Students Alvin L. Reid
explains and covers multiple ideas, issues, subjects, and solutions pertaining to missional student
ministry. Throughout reading the book it is evident that Reid is not only extremely passionate
about the missional aspect of the student ministry, but also the reasoning behind this aspect. Reid s
chapters recognize the issues that many student ministries deal with and how the ministry can go
from just an event to a mission ministry. Throughout this book review I will summarize the content
and highlight the key components that Reid speaks about. In regards to what Reid explains about a

He also claims, This book is not intended to focus on what is wrong in student ministry, however,
but to offer a new (or renewed) way of thinking (Reid 18). Here Reid clearly states what the
purpose of this book is and not to necessarily fix the ministry, but rather enhance it and provide a
new way of thinking about missions. Reid then goes on throughout chapter one to explain in detail
the purposes in missional ministry and why. In this section Reid explains that the students today
as a generation are leaning toward challenges and making a difference. He even goes as far as
defining this word, Missional: to see the world with the eyes of a missionary, to think like a
missionary and to relate to others as a missionary with a message of the gospel. In short, life is
ministry. Make disciples as you go (Reid 27). Reid goes on explaining the missional shift that has
happened in the western church and how this can impact the student ministry as a whole. This idea
of missional ministry in the student ministry is simply not in perspective and Reid covers this. He
goes throughout many chapters explaining how the bar has been set too low and why this
missional aspect is not being brought up in student ministry. Reid then centers in on the gospel in
chapter two and what this means as it impacts the missional ministry. The main point of this is so
that one understands that the reasoning of the gospel is not solely

Why Do Bananafish Lose Innocence
Innocence: A Gain and A Loss Well, they[Bananafish] swim into a hole where there s a lot of

Self-Regulation Accreditation
Fourth, a self regulation accreditation system benefits higher education and the public because it
uses a more adequate measure of quality. The traditional accreditation process focuses on quality
and institutional improvement while a government accreditation system would focus on
compliance and economically driven measures of quality. Often these approaches have conflicting
purposes and outcomes. As Wolff stated, When accreditation is seen primarily as a compliance
driven exercise to demonstrate the achievement of minimum standards and no more, it becomes
like a trip to the dentist: a necessary task but one that should take as little time and cause as little
pain as possible (p. 87). Thus, rather than raising academic quality, institutions under a government
accrediting system would have little incentive to exceed established standards or focus on
continuous improvement efforts, negatively impacting the value of a collegedegree.
Additionally, a government accrediting system that focuses on economically driven measures of
value would provide an incomplete picture of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Zumeta (2005) reported, the decline in degree completion rates is, in part, due to institutions
enrolling more disadvantaged students; however, elite institutions have higher graduation rates.
Thus, the surest route to success is to reduce the risk profile of the students admitted (p. 50).
Because retention and graduation rates are significantly influenced by the characteristics of the
students they admit, institutions would be forced to admit fewer disadvantaged students in order to
meet accreditation standards. Rather than increasing diversity on college campuses, such actions
would likely further stratify student bodies socioeconomically across these different types of
schools (p. 50). This has far reaching implications for higher

Japan s Home America Summary
JAPAN S AUTOMAKERS FACE ENDAKA After the crisis of oil in 1973, the demand of
Japanese s vehicles in the United States increased significantly, this is mainly due to Japanese
vehicles had a competitive advanced in the automobile manufacturing. They were cheaper, better
design and more competent than cars produce in America. Part of the advantages was due to labor
differences and technical efficiencies (Exhibit A) (Japan s Automakers Face Endaka, 1996)
Including the lower exchange value of the yen, leaving on the side the principal companies of the
U.S automobile industry such as Chrysler, Ford and General Motors, who suffered important losses
in their market share. Furthermore, during 1981 to 1985 the dollar appreciated approximate 30%

appreciation of the dollar caused distress among several sectors in the U.S economy, who exerted

the measures of protection are given through tariffs and quotas on imports. In pro of the automobile

First Compressions In Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire
Although first impressions are given quite a bit of weight in our society, they are often wrong. In
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry has several first impressions of new characters. Ludo
Bagman is a great guy who works for the ministry: funny, nice, and always cheerful, he s very
popular with Hogwartsstudents. Fleur Delacour is a French Beauxbatons student who is
gorgeous, and very aware of it. She is always complaining about Hogwarts and thinks the world
revolves around her, and only her. Professor Alastor Moody was an auror in his time, and since
he has caught so many dark wizards, he is very paranoid, leading many people to believe he is
insane. However, he is chosen to become the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, and he
knows what he is talking about. These are all true statements about these three characters. Or are
they? Harry Potterand the Goblet of Fire, by JK Rowling, explores the concept of first impressions,
revealing that even The Chosen One holds opinions on people that are completely incorrect.
Ludo Bagman is supposedly an amazing person who wants to see the underdog win, but Fred and
George Weasley quickly learn that he is not the perfect man he seems to be. When Ludo comes to
Hogwarts to judge the Triwizard Tournament, the students cheer very loudly when his name is

Community Based Participatory Summary
After our discussions in class and reflecting on the readings it made me think more critically

Pros And Cons Of Mass Media Essay
What the mass media offer is not popular art, but entertainment which is intended to be
consumed like food, forgotten, and replaced by a new dish W.H Auden. The quote is trying to
convey the message that the mass media is just to humor people on a daily basis and then we ll
forget about it at the end of the day, just like how we consume food on a daily basis and then
replace it with a new dish. It is crucial to understand that the mass mediais something that everyone
around the world are exposed to every single day of our lives. It is something that is being
depended on by many, and have also played a big role in our lives. The mass mediakeeps people all

However, there are also advantages to using the mass media. The exposure to different forms of
mass media cause people to be more aware of whatever that is happening around the whole
world. For example, the newspaper, the internet, the radio and the television are a few forms of
mass media that leads to a very fast spread of information. The information about the latest news,
be it entertainment, major events across the world or even sports can read people within
minutes. This is all thanks to the mass media. People can be aware of any social and political
events that are happening, not only in their own country, but the entire world. People can then
plan for the future, if they know the changes of the economy, any assumptions about the fall or
rise of prices of goods or news about the decline or growth in jobs. Weather forecast reports about
harsh weather conditions can be reported through the mass media. The media is also the fastest
way to spread awareness to people to take safety measures, in the case of any natural or man made
disasters (Manali Oak, March 13

Erich Maria Remarque s All Quiet On The Western Front
Book Review of All Quiet on the Western Front Mankind must put an end to war before war puts
an end to mankind. During his address to the United Nations General Assembly in 1961, John F.
Kennedy explained how war was an unnecessary and detrimental action to take for means of peace.
This quote exhibits the true values of the protagonist in the novel All Quiet on the Western Front
written by Erich Maria Remarque. The novel All Quiet on the Western Front is a remarkable way
to immerse into the lives of German soldiers during World War One due to the fact the author had
firsthand experience in the life of the war. To put it briefly, All Quiet on the Western Front is
considered the greatest war novel of all time by many sources and critics from all over the world
such as Redakteur Stohr, the Manchester Guardian, Le Monde, the Swedish Academy, and the
Saturday Review. The novel centers on the protagonist, Paul Bäumer, and his encounters while he
and his classmates were enlisted in the German army during World War One. The novel introduces
the many of the main characters in chapter one when the regiment is in line at the cookhouse to get
their evening ration of food. Paul encounters his first experience with death early in the novel when
one of his classmates dies in army hospital after they amputated his leg. In chapter three, the novel

written in the late 1920s. The time the book was written shows there was bias from the author in
the book because he had firsthand experiences with World War One. Also, since the book was

Defining Fair Punishment
The first and greatest punishment of the sinner is the conscience of sin.
Lucius Annaeus Seneca
What is the purpose of punishment? Ultimately a fair and effective punishment must not only
prevent future transgressions, but also teach a valuable life lesson. While some punishments may
seem standard: a grounding for breaking curfew, a detention for misbehaving in class, a jail
sentence for robbery, not all punishments are so cut and dry. Take the case of Casey Heynes. A
video which has since gone viral depicts the March 2011 incident. Ritchard Gale, 12, appears to
tease and taunt Casey, 15, and unleash a few unretaliated punches. In response, Casey picks
Ritchard up, and slams him to the ground. While Ritchard was relatively physically unscathed in
the encounter, Casey could have inflicted quite serious damage. It was revealed through family and
witness interviews that Casey was indeed provoked, and had suffered bullying at the hands of
classmates for years. Regardless, school and societal rules were broken, and consequences must
follow. What then, is a fair punishment? Casey Heynes should receive a four day at home
suspension. In addition, he should participate in a bullying prevention group at his school and
attend a one day anger management course. This represents a fair punishment, as it acts as a
reasonable deterrent, allows Casey to demonstrate remorse, and is reflective of both Casey and
Ritchard s feelings. In order for a punishment to be

Every poem constructs a perception for every reader and most readers will have a different
outcome from one another. In the poem Unemployment, written by Fatimah Asghar, the author
adds many hidden messages and symbols in the poems for the readers to uncover, and in a lot of
times it tends to be difficult. Many poets will use their personal experiences to convey the
message across to the audience. It is still difficult for readers to understand the poem right away,
as many poetry are needed to be reread many times to understand the information that the poet is

logistic company as health officer, where I was supervising a project on health and safety protocols
for the employees.
Mr. Salman is highly educated, well organized, and well committed person. During his 2 year of
stay in the company, the most important attribute observed in Mr. Salman was punctuality. The
second attribute observed was his independence and working with less supervision. He was quick

Knowing this, he effectively managed his assignments according to their importance, and came out

Mr. Salman also possessed strong interpersonal and leadership skills. When he interacted with his
fellow workers in order to get inputs on assigned tasks with tight deadlines, and if they were unable
to do so, he never got panic, rather he listened to them carefully, discussed the gaps and their issues
in the work and offered possible solutions to finish pending works. These situations he encountered
with many times during his stay, but he every time remained composed with himself and that
confirmed his maturity, persistence and profound negotiation and problem solving skills.
Together with his professional attributes, Mr. Salman was highly motivated and passionate about
helping the people, especially when it came to their health problems. One day, one of our senior
co worker felt severe chest pain and discomfort near end of the day. Salman immediately took him
to a nearby hospital in his own car and stayed in emergency for long hours until that gentleman was
released from the hospital. He remained in touch with him and enquired off and on about his
recovery until he resumed the office. Everyone in the office really admired his empathetic nature.

The Characteristics Of Cora As A Femme Fatale
1. My definition of a good feminist is someone who fights equality between genders in society
(entertainment, the workforce, socially, and etc.). I believe the femme fatale character does
celebrate a women s agency by placing women into less traditional roles. Before this type of
character became popular, women in movies were portrayed as being feeble and not significant to
the plot. Thus, the introduction of the fatal women archetype offered women the opportunity to
prove that they can be more than a damsel in distress who needs to be saved by the male hero. This
archetype allowed women to be portrayed somewhat equally to men in movies. Women were
allowed to be dangerous, cunning, intelligent, and in control of the situation. Thus, the... Show more

suspect as the police officer spotted him at the scene shortly before the attempted murder. Also, the
fake car crash complicated Frank s life even more because he was now the one responsible for
killing Nick with the wrench.
Third, in chapter 5 Cora decided to go back to her husband after traveling a quarter of a mile out
of town with Frank. I believe that Cora decided that Frank was no longer useful in helping her
achieve her goal of independence (Cain, 1992, pg. 42).
Lastly, Cora turned on Frank when she wrote a full confession in an attempt to save herself from
prosecution. This is representative of a femme fatale because they always try to pin the crime on
someone else while getting away scot free.
3. Just like Cora, Matty Walker from the film Body Heat (1981) is an attractive femme fatale
character. Both use their seductive powers to trap unsuspecting men in their murderous plots. In
both cases the men think they are in control, but the audience could not disagree more. Also, both
characters use emotion to convince men to go along with the murders. They, make the men feel
sorry for them and their situation using emotion and character assassination (my husband is a bad

How Stress Affects Everyone Regardless Of Their...
Stress affects everyone regardless of their background, ethnicity, gender or personality. These
factors can be important to detect how vulnerable a person is to stress. Williams and Cooper use
the four way model to describe how stress works (2002, 6). In this model, coping mechanisms,
sources of pressure, personality and positive/negative effects are all connected to each other.
Personality is the main block that faces both the pressure and the coping mechanisms. From
there, a person could either get affected negatively and be stressed, or get positive effects out of
the situation and reach to the growth phase (Williams Cooper, 2002, 7). Stress is in people`s
lives from the very first moment that they are able to perceive and understand the social
standards. Since people spend most of their life time at work dealing with many responsibilities,
there are many stressors created in the workplace. According to Matteson and Ivancevich, life
without the right amount of stress would not be motivating or exciting (1982, 11). However, high
amount of stress is costly for both the employee and the employer. The commercial costs of stress
at work include sickness absence, poor service, legal claims, insurance claims, staff turnover, low
productivity, poor quality, lack of innovation, low morale, bad working relationships, poor decision
making and accidents (Williams Cooper, 2002, 35). It is crucial to understand the workplace
stressors; by doing so, effective coping strategies can

Teotihuacan Culture
The culture that I will be talking about is the culture of TeotihuacГЎn from Mexico. Between
100B.C.E and 200 C.E the city grew rapidly, becoming one of the largest cities in Mesoamerica.
From my perspective there are different factors that contributed to the growth of TeotihuacГЎn,
resources, neighbors, trade, religious matters, and economy. This paper will basically focus on the
economy and how it was utilized to form this urban state of TeotihuacГЎn, whether it be the effects
of trade and tribute, goods and services, reciprocity, or corruption it all played a role in the
uprising of this city. TeotihuacГЎn was developed by different reason but I think that its economy

Teotihuacan now experienced a kind of renewal, probably to accommodate the populations growth
and to keep people at work. (Kurtz 1997, 337)The raw and finished material entering TeotihuacГЎn

economy, enlarging markets, increasing jobs, and developing technology. The completion of the

Importance Of Deserving My Education
I am deserving of this award due to how I have faced the challenges in my life to continue and
improve my education. Throughout my life I ve made sacrifices that most of my peers would
not do willingly. From childhood I knew that achieving the best grades and challenging myself
in academics would allow me to pursue what I wanted later in life, and I knew it wouldn t be
easy. I have sacrificed uncountable amounts of hours that I could have spent with friends or
doing other fun activities, to study for my classes. As an example, my mom s side of the family
has had many funerals in the recent past. I have chose to miss some of these funerals to stay in
school. I do not do this because I don t love my relatives. I miss the funerals because I know how
important school is, and that my relatives would want me to succeed in getting a great education
and achieving my goals. Making major sacrifices like this allowed me to keep a 4.0 G.P.A.
throughout my educational career, and deepen my knowledge of world around me. Not only have
I been able to make the sacrifices needed to keep myself ahead of game, but I ve also managed to
master my time management skills.
I have always loved soccer, and I have push myself time and time again to work at becoming the
best I can be. So, when I came into high school and the load of school work and time dedicated to

Sexual Assault Prevention Seminar For College Students Essay
Violence against women is defined as any act of gender based violence that results in or is likely to
result in physical, sexual/psychological harm or suffering to women, including threats of acts such
as coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public or in private. Its
dimensions include physical, sexual, psychological/emotional and economic violenceoccurring in
the family. Violence against womenincludes domestic violence, child marriage, forced pregnancy,
and other violence perpetrated by someone other than an intimate partner, sexual harassment
(Frieze 2000). Female researchers such as Irene Frieze, Lisa Goodman, Lorraine Radtke, and
Charleen Seen have focused much of their work on researching violence against women. The main
focus will be women suffering from domestic violence and its effect as well as sexual assault
prevention seminar for college students and its impact. Victims of intimate partner violence and
rape exhibit a variety of psychological symptoms that are equivalent to other forms of trauma (ex.
war and natural disasters). Experiencing trauma related to violence, victims experience shock,
denial, disbelief, fear, confusion, and withdrawal (Frieze 2000). A number of victims are prone to
becoming dependent and have a difficult time decision making. Although a single maltreatment
may lead to perpetual emotional scarring, ongoing/ repetitive violence is likely to experience
negative psychological changes (Frieze 2000).

Racial Inequality In To Kill A Mockingbird Essay
In To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee shows a lot of racial or social issues, especially against the
African Americans, such as racial inequality and poor treatment of the poor or homeless; both of
these are still at least partially seen today. Harper Lee uses the unfair trial of Tom Robinson and
his cruel death to show racial inequality, especially towards the African Americans. Towards the
end of the trial, Lee describes how the jury acts when they come back in as: A jury never looks
at a defendant it has convicted, and when this jury came in, not one of them looked at Tom
Robinson... (Lee 282). Then, Judge Taylor announces the verdict: Guilty... guilty... guilty...
guilty... (Lee 282). Later on, Atticus comes home after finding out about Tom Robinson s death:
Tom s dead.... They got him just as he went over the fence.... Seventeen bullet holes in him (Lee
315). Based on this evidence, it is clear that racial inequality was evident in the 1930 s because
with prior knowledge from the novel, we know that Tom didn t stand much of a chance against
the jury because of his being African American. Also, if a white man had done what Tom did, he
probably would have been given a fairer trial than Tom was. Even though, the police obviously
wanted him dead as he tried to escape prison, there was no reason to shoot him seventeen times.
Racial inequality can still been seen in the country, and around the world, but doesn t seem to be
as bad as it had been; some statistics show it improved soon after, but some facts show it took
longer. One statistic showing that racial inequality has gotten better states, In 1980, over 50% of
the Blacks aged 25 or more had completed high school, and, by 2012, 85% (Coleman 183).One
fact stating that racial inequality took a while before improving states, Even after the slaves were
freed, the African Americans continued to face legal discrimination and segregation until the
victories of the civil rights movement in the 1960 s ( Preface to What... 1). This evidence shows
that racial inequality didn t really improve at first. After the civil rights movement, things improved
for the African Americans. From the statistic, the reader knows that between 1980 and 2012, a little

Systems Administration and Network Administration
Systems Administration and Network Administration Systems administration and network
administration are, in many respects, very similar jobs. Both positions are highly involved in
maintaining the computer systems in an organization, and, in some smaller firms, the position may
be handled by the same individual. However, while there are significant similarities between
systems administration and network administration, there are differences in the roles as well.
Basically speaking, system administration focuses on computer systems and networks, while
network administration looks at maintenance and upkeep of the hardware and software that
composes the network (Entrance Exams 2012, 2012). Because there is obviously an overlap
between the two different job descriptions, it can be difficult to understand why it is so important
for information technology professionals to differentiate between network and systems
administration. However, when one understands the different roles of the two different positions, it
becomes clear that, why they might overlap, and why a single individual might be able to handle
the position in a small organization, there are actually substantial differences between the two
positions. Particularly in a large organization, the two jobs may need to be handled by different
professionals with different skill sets. It is because of these different skill sets that the industry has

Oppression In Lee Strobel s The Case For Faith
The Case for Faith, was written by Lee Strobel who at the time was an outspoken atheist. Strobel
set out on a mission to disprove the Christian faith. Along the way, as he gathered information he
was slowly convinced that there was truth to the religion. In result of his findings Strobel
published three books to help explain his findings. In this book he discusses objections that arise
in the minds of believers. Strobel discusses eight different objection, thoroughly explains them,
and provides deep information to help resolve these objections. Some of the issues that he
touched on are tilled; Since Evil and Suffering Exist, A Loving God Cannot, A Loving God Would

would look forward to the weekend cookouts in which our neighborhood gathered to launch model
rockets. The majority of our neighbors worked at the Cape Canaveral Air Force station and would

away from Periera, Felix noticed a shabby, decrepit household. In the middle of the ruined house,
there sat an old man wearing scruffy clothes and holding a piece of stale bread.
Felix approached the man and asked, Can I help you?
I appreciate your kindness, child, but there s no cure for my misery, the man glanced at him
sorrowfully.
Felix contemplated for a while. Then, he put his talisman into the man s hand. You have no home
or family. You look lonely, sick and tired. Obviously, you need this more than I

ESLG 1001
29 November 2012 Comparison of Chinese and Western Food Culture Food is closely related to
people s lives and it is considered the most important element in Chinese culture. Chinese food is
famous all over the world too. American Chinese cuisine differs significantly from the traditional
Chinese cuisine and even though the variation in taste can be so it is still attractive to many
people. When it comes to food, Chinese people always care about the color, taste, smell and
shape of Chinese dishes. In 1784, a group of passengers on the ship Empress of China became the
first Americans to land in China and they were also the first group of people to eat Chinese food; it

Grilling meats and spit roasting over a pit fire are both common even today. Americans use
barbecue smokers to cook chicken, pork and corn. Frying is the most common in Western
countries because almost every famous dish is related to frying. Examples include fried chicken,
French fries, burgers and fries, etc. Local families in America like to do baking, which is generally
applied to breads, lasagna, manicotti, pastries and other sweet confections. There is a big difference
between Chinese and American cooking methods. One is mainly concentrated on the color, smell
and shape. The other is always speedy, convenient and cheap.
Secondly, the ingredients in Chinese and American food are different. Chinese cuisine involves rice,
flour, beans, and vegetables. American cuisine is relatively simple and mainly includes meat,
bread and vegetables. For the Chinese one, most dishes include rice, because it is the main crop
of many Asian countries and is used in almost every capacity. Not only steamed rice, but rice
paper and noodles can be included in a meal. Second, tofu is often used in vegetarian meals,
because it is high in protein. It is used heavily in regions with a tradition of Buddhism. Third,
sauces are important to flavor rice and stir fry. Soy sauce, oyster sauce, black bean sauce, and fish
sauces are easy to keep on hand (Yang 3). Rice is a major staple food for

Millionaire Next Door Analysis
The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas J. Stanley and William D. Danko clarifies the principal
reasons why a few people are tycoons and others are most certainly not. As opposed to prevalent
suspicion, most moguls are extremely parsimonious and are not hyperconsumers. They don t have
costly, extravagance, remote autos, they have humble homes in working class neighborhoods, and
they spending plan for every one of their costs. Most tycoons live well beneath their methods. That
is definitely why they are moguls. The vast majority who procure high salaries are not rich, and
they neglect to gather any enduring riches. They spend their cash as quick as they procure it.
Keeping in mind the end goal to gather riches, the creators propose that individuals need to play
great offense. You should spending plan, spending plan, and spending plan. The creators clarify
how the normal individual gains riches through seven shared factors.
The primary shared factor is to live well beneath your methods. As expressed some time recently,
most moguls are extremely economical. They know how much cash they have and where each
penny of it is spent. They make a month to month or yearly spending plan or both. Generally,
they try to do they say others should do and pass these qualities onto their kids. They spare cash
and realize what it takes to have the capacity to resign serenely. They don t live extravagant ways
of life. They are readily to pay for quality things however surely not as a picture

English 111 Lights, Camera, and Tactics Have you ever wondered where the photo of your
favorite celebrity came from? Who took it? How much was paid for the photo? Was anyone
injured or harassed in the process of taking this photo? Do celebrities have a right to privacy? This
essay takes a look at the paparazzi, the celebrities, the tactics used to take the pictures, and the
tactics used to avoid a photo from being taken.
The Paparazzi
The paparazzi are possibly the most despised media practitioners. Members of this group can be
seen on the streets of Los Angeles and New York, hoping to catch an unguarded moment of a
celebrity, buying coffee, walking a dog, or doing just about any mundane activity. (Mendelson 1)...

Valdez writes,
Everything from disguises to decoys are used to avoid recognition in public places. At times,
celebrities use multiple cars to cover travel routes. False press statements and an alias can cover a
celebrity s whereabouts. More low tech solutions involve canopies over outdoor events and good
old fashioned bruiser security to keep the paparazzi at bay. (Valdez 6)
There are numerous tactics used to one up the paparazzi, including releasing photos of weddings
and first photos of their newborn babies to publications before the paparazzi can. Valdez reports,
Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas took perhaps some of the most famous and extreme
set of measures to keep paparazzi out of the picture at their wedding. The security measures cost
over $60,000, which included: All of the caterers, help, suppliers and any other vendors associated
with the wedding had to sign confidentiality agreements (even the ones that didn t get the job). And
No wedding guests were given the time or location of the wedding until the last minute. (Valdez 6)
But even with the enormous measures taken, paparazzo Rupert Thorpe managed to infiltrate the
wedding and snap shots of the bride and groom that he later sold to publications Hello! and The
Sun. The celebrity couple was furious and sought legal action, won a nominal settlement against the
publications. (Valdez 6) Supermodel Heidi Klum took a similar approach to keep paparazzi away
from her daughter.

The Return Of Martin Guerre Essay
Introduction The Tale of Martin Guerre has been retold throughout history in the forms of; a play,
movie and a book. What makes this story so interesting is due to the fact that it stems from a real
life peasant court case which occurred in the 16th century. In the case, a man by the name of
Arnaud du Tilh takes the identity of a middle class family man by the name of Martin Guerre. He
manages to take on the persona of Martin Guerre for a period of three years where he manages to
both; increase the Guerre family estate, and father a child with Martin s wife, Bertrande de Rols.
What helped Arnaud steal Martin s identity was due to the fact that the real Martin Guerre had left
his wife and family eight years prior to Arnaud arriving in the French village of Aritigat. Twentieth
Century historians Natalie Zemon Davisand Robert Finlay have attempted to provide historical
reasoning for why the case of Martin Guerre became so popular. As this essay will show; both
historians were constrained to the same archival evidence; however they used different methods of
interpretation to come up... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her writing of the book postdates the movie of Martin Guerre, Le Retour de Martin Guerre,

interpretation of the movie because it strayed from the actual events of the court case . As a
result, Davis wrote The Return of Martin Guerre using her own interpretations based on the
archival evidence she collected. Davis ultimate goal was to ensure that her book was easily
accessible to all audiences and therefore, she catered to different groups of people through her
choice of detail, literary voice, and metaphor as by topical analysis . By writing about how people
lived during the 16th century, French society, readers are more understanding of why people did

Comparing Pride And Prejudice And Our Mutual Friend, By...
During the 19th century, men were the ones who typically proposed to women. However, men
did not solely ask for their hand in marriage, they also had to formulate something to say. In the
books Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens, there are
two men who decide to propose to someone they take liking in. Those men are William Collins
who proposes to Elizabeth Bennett (Pride and Prejudice) and Bradley Headstone who proposes to
Lizzie Hexam. Although both of the men s proposal resulted in rejection, one of the proposals had
better diction than the other. The ideas such as bringing up [their significant other s] reputation or
having true love for [their significant lover] may indicate to the women they are truly sincere.
Due to the time period s typical romances, there were a limited amount of things a woman and
man can do with each other in public. Specifically, the men and women were not allowed to kiss,
go on dates alone, or hold hands. When the woman agrees to a marriageproposal, her and her fiance

The proposal featured in Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens has a better effectiveness than
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen due to the tone that is communicated to one another and the
persuasiveness of the speaker, which also creates strengths and weaknesses between the proposals.
Despite the fact that both men were denied of their hand in marriage, they both had strengths in
their proposals. In Charles Dickens story, William Collins professes to Lizzie Hexam, I love you.
What other men mean, I cannot tell; what I mean is that I am under the influence of some
tremendous attraction which I have resisted in vain and which overmasters me. By saying this, he
conveys a stronger confidence than that of William Collins, who spends

Reflective Essay On 2016 Elections
During the 2016 elections, I was extremely committed to helping elect Democrats to the US
House of Representatives, and I greatly admire the work that the DCCC did toward this cause.
Now, I would like to begin working on electing as many Democrats as possible to the House in
the 2018 elections, and I would like to intern with the DCCC as a result, since the DCCC is the
primary organization that works to elect Democrats to the House of Representatives. I have
reviewed the application on your website for an internship with the DCCC, and I am confident that
my experiences demonstrate that I am committed to helping Democrats take back the House and
that I have the knowledge and leadership abilities required to do so. When I created and operated...

In addition to making calls for Tom Nelson, the Democratic House candidate in my district, I
also worked to organize a Take Back the House phone bank for more than 20 House candidates
across the country. In order to organize this event, I collaborated with one other person in order
to contact more than 20 campaigns and set up the phone banking systems that we would be
using. Then, during the event itself, I led the logistics of the event in order to ensure that it ran
smoothly. Overall, the event was successful, as we had more than 40 attendees who made
thousands of calls for six hours. As an intern with the DCCC, I would have the same commitment
to taking back the House as I did while organizing this event. I wish to speak with you further
about how my experiences pertain to the duties of an internship with the DCCC so that I can
assist in the fight to take back the House. If you have any questions about my application, please

The Muscular System Of The Human
Introduction The muscular system of the human is a vital part in one s everyday life. There are
three types of muscles. Skeletal muscles help people carry out locomotor skills like walking and
skipping as well as skills related to sports like kicking a soccer ball. Smooth muscles are located
in the digestive, excretory, respiratory, reproductive, and other body systems. The purpose of
smooth muscles is to contract and move food or carry blood through the body. The cardiac muscleis
responsible for pumping the heart so blood can circulate throughout the body (Allen and Harper
2013). Skeletal muscles are composed of sarcomeres. Sarcomeres are made from filaments that are
think and thin. Actinis molecules that make the thin filament. Intertwined in the thin filament, is a
strand called tropomyosin. In between the tropomyosin is troponin, molecules that are placed
within the tropomyosin at specific points of the strand. The think filaments are made of molecules
of myosin. At the ends of the filament strands, there are teardrop shaped ends known as myosin
heads. With the help of ATP, the myosin heads attach to the thin filament s binding sites and form
crossbridges. The attachment aids in the contraction of human muscles (Allen and Harper 2013).
There are instances when human muscles do not function properly and limit human motion. For
instance, Ataxia is a disease that affects one s movement and coordination. Cerebellar ataxia is
when the part of the brain that controls

On My Way
RenГ© Descartes was a famous French mathematician, scientist, and philosopher. He was arguably
known as the Father of Modern Philosophy. Descartes published many works of mathematics and
philosophy throughout his life. In one of his most important works, Meditations on First
Philosophy, he added a number of arguments for and against skepticism. Skepticism is the doubt
about the truth of something and that absolute knowledge is not possible. Like past famous
philosophers before him, Platoand Parmenides, Descartes believed that evidence from the senses
was inadequate to prove the kind of justification required for a claim of knowledge.
In the first of Rene Descartes Meditations, he provided arguments for the skeptical position. He ...

The method of hyperbolical doubt, also known as methodic doubt, is a methodical process of being
skeptical about the truth of one s belief. According to the article Descartes Epistemology,
Hyperbolical Doubt is perceived to mean that one applies doubt to all candidates of knowledge.
However, Descartes sees hyperbolical doubt as this: when one decides to doubt their
knowledge, one must apply their doubt to all candidates collectively and start at the foundation.
As the phrase goes, one bad apple can spoil a bunch, one false piece of knowledge can cause an
entire belief to collapse. RenГ© Descartes describes three skeptical arguments in Meditation I.
The first argument is about how one cannot rely solely on senses for knowledge because senses
can be deceiving. One often makes decisions and judgments based on what one sees, hears, feels,
smells, and so forth; therefore, when one experiences some form of sensory illusion, their
judgment is impaired and the information can possibly be false. For example, a person can be
driving on a highway on a scorching hot summer day and be absolutely certain that he or she sees
a puddle of water on the road ahead. However, the closer they get to the puddle of water, they
quickly realize that it was an illusion of the sun. Their eyes deceived them and the knowledge

The Grammy Awards ceremony in 1991 was not all that different from those which preceded it. A
crowded auditorium littered with the beautiful people of Hollywood and the music industry once

Bob Dylan s lyrics that evening were dated. But, no doubt to his great dismay, they were no more
less relevant on this evening in 1991 then they were when he wrote them in the midst of then
President Lyndon Johnson s controversial deployment of American troops to Vietnam. The
audience that evening wasn t watching some fly by night hipster playing senseless fluff. They were
caste in the shadow of the most prophetic musical figure of the last fifty years. A man whose inner
fire forged a new musical frontier and shaped an entire generation of American youth.
Background
The man affectionately known as Bob Dylan to millions of fans worldwide was actually born
Robert Zimmerman on May 24, 1941 in Hibbing, Minnesota. Hibbing is a desolate mining town on
the outskirts of Duluth, near the Canadian border. Zimmerman s father was a local business owner,
operating an appliance and furniture store in Hibbing. As a boy, young Robert was introverted and
secretive. As he reached adolescence Robert became a talented storyteller with a tendency to
fabricate stories about his past to such an extent as to make the truth difficult to decipher. With age
came the renouncing of his Jewish faith, just one of many rebellious stands taken in that period.
Those closest to Robert at that time attributed his rejection of Judaism to the boy s dislike for the
small town business community that his father

  • 2. SAT Testing Research Paper SAT test preparation might not produce desired results if it does not teach you strategies to solve problems in the right way. Most students who undergo SAT test preparation are pretty familiar with the SAT test pattern. Being good at one of the sections does not guarantee a good SAT exam score. To aid you in your SAT test preparation let me share with you a few strategies that I also use in my tutoring. Let us talk about the Math section first. The SAT test, according to many, carries complex math problems. This is far from being true. Actually, SAT math consists of basic math questions. Unlike many other tests, the SAT does not ask questions from pre calculus, calculus or trigonometry. This does not at all mean that you would encounter ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Euthanasi Assisted Suicide And Euthanasia Essay Physician Assisted Suicide Framing the Issue Many legal, ethical and personal issues and dilemmas have been identified in relation to physician assisted suicide and euthanasia. Issues such as whether physician assisted suicide or euthanasia is ethically acceptable, or what criterion is legally and socially necessary to determine whether a person can receive assisted suicide measures to end ones life. A variety of literature reviews have been created to address this topic and generate knowledge and information for health care professionals. With this in mind, there are many phrases associated and utilized synonymously with the term physician assisted suicide that need to be addressed such as physician assisted death, euthanasia, and aid in dying, however each has been defined separately throughout the literature. Westefeld et al., (2013) and Landry, Foreman and Kekewich (2015) define physician assisted death as voluntary termination of life through the administration, from the person requesting termination, of a lethal dose to end ones life. The Canadian Medical Association (2014) refers to euthanasia as the practice of knowingly and intentionally performing an act with or without consent, that is explicitly intended to end another person life (p. 2) by a physician. Lastly, aid is dying is the request of a prescription for medication; provided by a physician, that patients can self administer to end ones life peacefully (American Nurses Association [ANA], 2013). • 4. The Bim Capabilities And Bim Maturity Level Project: To assess the BIM capabilities and BIM Maturity Level. Having established exiting BIM maturity level, propose measures for achieving level 2 BIM by 2016. According to the Government Construction Strategy document in 2011, the Government will require fully collaborative Level 2 3D BIM (with all project and asset information, documentation and data being electronic) as a mini¬¬¬¬¬mum by 2016. For the three weeks I am working at the London Bridge office of Jacob s, I intend to: Understand exactly what BIM is and the basic criteria for each BIM level. Evaluate where Jacob s is in relation to these BIM levels. Suggest improvements as to how Jacob s can reach the Government s target by 2016. The use of level 2 BIM in all public sector construction work is imperative as it affects everybody on a day to day basis. Using BIM software will not only reduce the amount of time spent at the construction site, but it will also reduce costs due to errors. One of the current projects Jacob s is working on using BIM software is the Crossrail (Europe s largest construction project). This will increase London s rail capacity by 10 per cent and bring 1.5 million new commuters , not to mention bringing an estimated 42 billion to the UK economy and creating 30,000 jobs. Due to the use of some aspects of BIM, the process of creating the Crossrail will not only be faster and more efficient but will also help the UK s economy. 1)Selection of Approach How do I undertake this ... • 5. Traction Alopecia In Children Children are just as susceptible to traction alopecia as adults are. The causes of traction alopecia in children are similar to grown ups. Hairstyles such as pigtails, cornrows and braiding the hair can cause hair loss in kids. When a child s hair is repeatedly styled tightly, over a period of time hair follicles become damaged and incapable of producing healthy hairs. The hair folliclemay become so damaged that it stops producing hairs altogether. Hair loss occurs in the areas of the scalp that are pulled the most, usually at the front hair line, the nape of the neck and crown. Traction alopecia in children can be treated in a similar fashion to the way it is treated in adults. In fact children have a much better chance of regrowing hair ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Getting into the habit of gently massaging the child s scalp will speed up their hair regrowth. It is best to use a lubricating agent such as oil to eliminate any friction which may cause further damage to the scalp or hair follicles. Bhringaraj oil or virgin coconut oil make excellent massage oils for the scalp and can also double up as deep conditioning hair treatments. Following these rules will ensure more hair doesn t fall out because of the excessive force applied to the hair follicles and that further harm isn t caused to the follicles by the use of inappropriate hair products. Stick with gentle products and stimulate hair growth by increasing scalp circulation through regular massages to give the hair follicles a chance to heal themselves and start producing healthy new ... • 6. The Goal Of The Accounting And Audit Professions Essay The goal of the accounting and audit professions is to provide statements and information on behalf of a firm that are reliable and relevant to users. In order to accomplish this goal, the accounting and audit professions have continuously evolved in order to meet the needs of said users. In this new age of accounting, we feel the need for accountants and auditors to further modify their methodology and process. With the focus of accounting and auditing staying the same, we in the profession must be sure to strive to produce valuable information to the end users. First we will discuss the importance of intangibles and their value to a company. This value is being under disclosed using traditional accounting methods, and therefore the accounting profession must be modified in order to properly value intangibles when presenting users with the finished financial statements. Secondly, this paper will divulge into how the effects of corporate disclosures through new media may inadvertently force auditing profession to adapt accordingly. Due to corporations having the ability to disclose earnings using new media, the users of this information need to be able to recognize that it is trustworthy. Lastly, the idea of new emerging technologies causing the auditing profession to change will be discussed. While companies have yet to adapt the mainstream use of computer systems, the future of bookkeeping will most likely be done entirely by computer systems, thereby rendering the ... • 7. The Military Sector Of The Marine Corps We are losing some of our best Machinists and Welders after their first enlistment due to the lucrative options available in the civilian sector and the lack of opportunities to display their innovative nature in the Marine Corps. An additive and subtractive fabricator in the trenches would serve to be an asset to commanders, because he/she will not be limited by technology or lack of expertise. Both of these specialties present an opportunity to exploit manufacturing capabilities. After all, exploitation is a human endeavor and until unmanned technologies take over completely, is it not the Marines using the technologies that are the assets? In the civilian sector, experience is often necessary in most fields; however, machiningand... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus, the opportunities to exploit machining and welding capabilities disappear along with the opportunities to pass down their knowledge and skills through guidance and mentoring. Interestingly enough the current manpower structure places these two MOS side by side in every ESB, Maintenance battalion and Ground Ordnance Vehicle Battalions. In an effort to challenge the status quo and to continue on with the Commandant guidance; what benefits could arise if these two specialties are aligned together and be allowed to merge at the fifteen year mark? These two specialties share similar skills in terms of fabrication and metallurgy, including a thorough understanding of the physical and mechanical properties of metals. They both have a strong understanding of structural design and manufacturing regardless of material. And one particular aspect that is often overlooked is the ability to be critical thinkers, as this is inherent with artistic creation (White, Robinson 2001). Additionally, all the processes used in machining and welding require a level of critical thinking and creativity in order to maximize efforts and resources. The current employment of these two specialties is minimal while in garrison; however, while forward deployed, these specialties become an integral part of combat innovation. • 9. Army Mandatory Essay When it comes to the topic of military service being mandatory, most of us would readily agree that it s a debatable topic. Where this argument usually ends, however, is on the question of violating free will. Whereas some are convinced that making military service mandatory offers good opportunities and promotes national unity, others maintain that it violates free will because it doesn t give them an option. Though I concede that a person might not want to be in the militaryand shouldn t be forced to, I still insist that making military service mandatory can help people make a better step in life, and promote national unity. When it comes to military promoting nation unity, people don t think of the many ways it can show that our country cares about standing strong together, and making sure that we all stand by one another to fight for this country. According to List of Pros of Military Service , Mandatory military service promotes national unity by allowing citizens to learn and train together, creating that shared experience of having served in the military (1). Basically this statement is saying that people who serve in the military have a bond, so those who have never served in the military don t understand this bond. The... With politicians drafting bills to monitor and control the public, government agencies sidestepping the law in a misguided attempt to achieve justice, and a dishonest mainstream media trying to sway the public view every step of the way, it is quite a wonder we have lasted this long. • 12. Support Children And Young People s Positive Behavior Support children and young people s positive behaviour LO 1.2 Describe with examples the importance of all staff consistently and fairly applying boundaries and rules for children and young people s behaviour in accordance with the policies of the setting. When working with children it is important that they know what is expected of them, therefore all staff should apply the same boundaries and rules for any particular class or age group. It would not be viable to create a separate set of rules for each individual child as you would end up with a class of up to thirty children each following a separate set of rules and being. When developing a set of rules it is important to take into account the group of children s age. A group of children age 4 5 will need different rules to a group of children age 8 9 as the children will be at different stages in their development and will therefore have a different understanding of rules and boundaries that are in place. Children will learn very quickly what is expected of them and what is right and wrong if all of the adults in their setting use the same rules and boundaries. When inconsistencies occur children will very easily become confused with the possibility of them withdrawing with the feeling of being unsure of what is expected of them. It is important that you always treat children the same to avoid any claims of favouritism or victimisation. This could also lead to the children perceiving you as someone who lacks control ... God Breathed And Is Useful For Teaching, Rebuking,... 16 All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, (2 Timothy 3:16) It s amazing how similar, and yet how different a couple can be. take my parents for instance. Both of them enjoyed cooking, but they went about it in completely different ways. My mother is the, by the book recipe follower. She may deviate if, over time she has found she had to make some adjustments in seasoning, but by and large she is going to be exact, and do what the recipe calls for. My Dad was more the seat of the pants type. If my mother was the classical music type in cooking, my Dad was the improvisational jazz type. I don t think he ever followed a recipe in his entire life. He would go to the kitchen, begin looking at what we had and create something. You never knew what you were going to get but it was usually pretty good. Two different approaches, but they came up with the same results. They were able to do this because, while they may have had a different way to go about it, they both still had to follow the rules of , the physics of cooking. They both knew if you wanted something to taste good, and to be consistent you had to have the same ingredients. Every time. Leaving out an ingredient could prove disastrous, and could be the difference between a delicious meal and a disaster. Reid explains and covers multiple ideas, issues, subjects, and solutions pertaining to missional student ministry. Throughout reading the book it is evident that Reid is not only extremely passionate about the missional aspect of the student ministry, but also the reasoning behind this aspect. Reid s chapters recognize the issues that many student ministries deal with and how the ministry can go from just an event to a mission ministry. Throughout this book review I will summarize the content and highlight the key components that Reid speaks about. He also claims, This book is not intended to focus on what is wrong in student ministry, however, but to offer a new (or renewed) way of thinking (Reid 18). Here Reid clearly states what the purpose of this book is and not to necessarily fix the ministry, but rather enhance it and provide a new way of thinking about missions. Reid then goes on throughout chapter one to explain in detail the purposes in missional ministry and why. In this section Reid explains that the students today as a generation are leaning toward challenges and making a difference. He even goes as far as defining this word, Missional: to see the world with the eyes of a missionary, to think like a missionary and to relate to others as a missionary with a message of the gospel. In short, life is ministry. Make disciples as you go (Reid 27). Reid goes on explaining the missional shift that has happened in the western church and how this can impact the student ministry as a whole. This idea of missional ministry in the student ministry is simply not in perspective and Reid covers this. He goes throughout many chapters explaining how the bar has been set too low and why this missional aspect is not being brought up in student ministry. Reid then centers in on the gospel in chapter two and what this means as it impacts the missional ministry. The main point of this is so that one understands that the reasoning of the gospel is not solely ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There were many people one one side of the street we were on in a rainbow of colors and some nearly nude however as a child I didn t know what was taboo and what wasn t and the such because of my pure innocence. On the other side of the street was a fair few amount of people fighting the others, using God as a reference but being overall very unruly and much louder than the people on the other side. My parents quickly rushed me out of the situation but while trying to move through the crowd a man from the not so friendly side of the road bent down to me and said Never be a f*g . I will never forget those words. I didn t know what was happening and my mother and father were still trying to escort me away. I cried. I didn t know why but it was just the way the man said it. Spiteful. Angry. He made me fear a word and I had never feared a word that much. We then left to go back to a hotel and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. Self-Regulation Accreditation Fourth, a self regulation accreditation system benefits higher education and the public because it uses a more adequate measure of quality. The traditional accreditation process focuses on quality and institutional improvement while a government accreditation system would focus on compliance and economically driven measures of quality. Often these approaches have conflicting purposes and outcomes. As Wolff stated, When accreditation is seen primarily as a compliance driven exercise to demonstrate the achievement of minimum standards and no more, it becomes like a trip to the dentist: a necessary task but one that should take as little time and cause as little pain as possible (p. 87). Thus, rather than raising academic quality, institutions under a government accrediting system would have little incentive to exceed established standards or focus on continuous improvement efforts, negatively impacting the value of a collegedegree. Additionally, a government accrediting system that focuses on economically driven measures of value would provide an incomplete picture of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus, the surest route to success is to reduce the risk profile of the students admitted (p. 50). Because retention and graduation rates are significantly influenced by the characteristics of the students they admit, institutions would be forced to admit fewer disadvantaged students in order to meet accreditation standards. Rather than increasing diversity on college campuses, such actions would likely further stratify student bodies socioeconomically across these different types of schools (p. 50). Japan s Home America Summary JAPAN S AUTOMAKERS FACE ENDAKA After the crisis of oil in 1973, the demand of Japanese s vehicles in the United States increased significantly, this is mainly due to Japanese vehicles had a competitive advanced in the automobile manufacturing. They were cheaper, better design and more competent than cars produce in America. Part of the advantages was due to labor differences and technical efficiencies (Exhibit A) (Japan s Automakers Face Endaka, 1996) Including the lower exchange value of the yen, leaving on the side the principal companies of the U.S automobile industry such as Chrysler, Ford and General Motors, who suffered important losses in their market share. Furthermore, during 1981 to 1985 the dollar appreciated approximate 30% appreciation (Exhibit B) (Trading Economics, 2014), The losses of market share and the appreciation of the dollar caused distress among several sectors in the U.S economy, who exerted pressure to politicians so they could take protective measures in favor of their industries. During his address to the United Nations General Assembly in 1961, John F. Kennedy explained how war was an unnecessary and detrimental action to take for means of peace. This quote exhibits the true values of the protagonist in the novel All Quiet on the Western Front written by Erich Maria Remarque. The novel All Quiet on the Western Front is a remarkable way to immerse into the lives of German soldiers during World War One due to the fact the author had firsthand experience in the life of the war. To put it briefly, All Quiet on the Western Front is considered the greatest war novel of all time by many sources and critics from all over the world such as Redakteur Stohr, the Manchester Guardian, Le Monde, the Swedish Academy, and the Saturday Review. The novel introduces the many of the main characters in chapter one when the regiment is in line at the cookhouse to get their evening ration of food. Ultimately a fair and effective punishment must not only prevent future transgressions, but also teach a valuable life lesson. While some punishments may seem standard: a grounding for breaking curfew, a detention for misbehaving in class, a jail sentence for robbery, not all punishments are so cut and dry. Take the case of Casey Heynes. A video which has since gone viral depicts the March 2011 incident. Ritchard Gale, 12, appears to tease and taunt Casey, 15, and unleash a few unretaliated punches. In response, Casey picks Ritchard up, and slams him to the ground. While Ritchard was relatively physically unscathed in the encounter, Casey could have inflicted quite serious damage. It was revealed through family and witness interviews that Casey was indeed provoked, and had suffered bullying at the hands of classmates for years. Regardless, school and societal rules were broken, and consequences must follow. What then, is a fair punishment? Casey Heynes should receive a four day at home suspension. In addition, he should participate in a bullying prevention group at his school and attend a one day anger management course. This represents a fair punishment, as it acts as a reasonable deterrent, allows Casey to demonstrate remorse, and is reflective of both Casey and Ritchard s feelings. I believe the femme fatale character does celebrate a women s agency by placing women into less traditional roles. Before this type of character became popular, women in movies were portrayed as being feeble and not significant to the plot. Thus, the introduction of the fatal women archetype offered women the opportunity to prove that they can be more than a damsel in distress who needs to be saved by the male hero. This archetype allowed women to be portrayed somewhat equally to men in movies. Women were allowed to be dangerous, cunning, intelligent, and in control of the situation. Thus, the... • 30. How Stress Affects Everyone Regardless Of Their... Stress affects everyone regardless of their background, ethnicity, gender or personality. These factors can be important to detect how vulnerable a person is to stress. Williams and Cooper use the four way model to describe how stress works (2002, 6). In this model, coping mechanisms, sources of pressure, personality and positive/negative effects are all connected to each other. Personality is the main block that faces both the pressure and the coping mechanisms. From there, a person could either get affected negatively and be stressed, or get positive effects out of the situation and reach to the growth phase (Williams Cooper, 2002, 7). Stress is in people`s lives from the very first moment that they are able to perceive and understand the social standards. Since people spend most of their life time at work dealing with many responsibilities, there are many stressors created in the workplace. According to Matteson and Ivancevich, life without the right amount of stress would not be motivating or exciting (1982, 11). However, high amount of stress is costly for both the employee and the employer. The commercial costs of stress at work include sickness absence, poor service, legal claims, insurance claims, staff turnover, low productivity, poor quality, lack of innovation, low morale, bad working relationships, poor decision making and accidents (Williams Cooper, 2002, 35). • 34. Racial Inequality In To Kill A Mockingbird Essay In To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee shows a lot of racial or social issues, especially against the African Americans, such as racial inequality and poor treatment of the poor or homeless; both of these are still at least partially seen today. Harper Lee uses the unfair trial of Tom Robinson and his cruel death to show racial inequality, especially towards the African Americans. Towards the end of the trial, Lee describes how the jury acts when they come back in as: A jury never looks at a defendant it has convicted, and when this jury came in, not one of them looked at Tom Robinson... (Lee 282). Then, Judge Taylor announces the verdict: Guilty... guilty... guilty... guilty... (Lee 282). Later on, Atticus comes home after finding out about Tom Robinson s death: Tom s dead.... They got him just as he went over the fence.... Seventeen bullet holes in him (Lee 315). Based on this evidence, it is clear that racial inequality was evident in the 1930 s because with prior knowledge from the novel, we know that Tom didn t stand much of a chance against the jury because of his being African American. Also, if a white man had done what Tom did, he probably would have been given a fairer trial than Tom was. Even though, the police obviously wanted him dead as he tried to escape prison, there was no reason to shoot him seventeen times. Racial inequality can still been seen in the country, and around the world, but doesn t seem to be as bad as it had been; some statistics show it improved soon after, but some facts show it took longer. One statistic showing that racial inequality has gotten better states, In 1980, over 50% of the Blacks aged 25 or more had completed high school, and, by 2012, 85% (Coleman 183).One fact stating that racial inequality took a while before improving states, Even after the slaves were freed, the African Americans continued to face legal discrimination and segregation until the victories of the civil rights movement in the 1960 s ( Preface to What... 1). Both positions are highly involved in maintaining the computer systems in an organization, and, in some smaller firms, the position may be handled by the same individual. However, while there are significant similarities between systems administration and network administration, there are differences in the roles as well. Basically speaking, system administration focuses on computer systems and networks, while network administration looks at maintenance and upkeep of the hardware and software that composes the network (Entrance Exams 2012, 2012). Because there is obviously an overlap between the two different job descriptions, it can be difficult to understand why it is so important for information technology professionals to differentiate between network and systems administration. However, when one understands the different roles of the two different positions, it becomes clear that, why they might overlap, and why a single individual might be able to handle the position in a small organization, there are actually substantial differences between the two positions. I didn t have much of a worry in the world and really only cared if the surf was up and whether my favorite song, All Shook Up by Elvis Presley would become a gold record. Little did I know, but it would be a day that would change my life and world. It would be infamously known as the day the Soviet Unionsuccessfully launched Sputnik. Looking back, I realize it not only scripted my mentality but America s mentality for the 1960 s. My family gathered on the deck to see Sputnik. We didn t see Sputnik in the night sky but it was more what we felt in the air; hurt pride. But I also felt like it was the beginning of a great competition, one that I would have the privilege of competing in. I grew up in an environment of competition with three older brothers in Cocoa Beach Florida. I would often walk to the beach or sit on our deck with my brothers to watch the rocket launches from the launch pad in Cape Canaveral. Then we would go and launch our model rockets on our street. We would look forward to the weekend cookouts in which our neighborhood gathered to launch model rockets. The majority of our neighbors worked at the Cape Canaveral Air Force station and would relate to us kids how the V 2 rocket projects were going, then they would tell us when the next launch would happen so we could watch it. • 49. The Muscular System Of The Human Introduction The muscular system of the human is a vital part in one s everyday life. There are three types of muscles. Skeletal muscles help people carry out locomotor skills like walking and skipping as well as skills related to sports like kicking a soccer ball. Smooth muscles are located in the digestive, excretory, respiratory, reproductive, and other body systems. The purpose of smooth muscles is to contract and move food or carry blood through the body. The cardiac muscleis responsible for pumping the heart so blood can circulate throughout the body (Allen and Harper 2013). Skeletal muscles are composed of sarcomeres. Sarcomeres are made from filaments that are think and thin. Actinis molecules that make the thin filament. Intertwined in the thin filament, is a strand called tropomyosin. In between the tropomyosin is troponin, molecules that are placed within the tropomyosin at specific points of the strand. The think filaments are made of molecules of myosin. At the ends of the filament strands, there are teardrop shaped ends known as myosin heads. With the help of ATP, the myosin heads attach to the thin filament s binding sites and form crossbridges. The attachment aids in the contraction of human muscles (Allen and Harper 2013). There are instances when human muscles do not function properly and limit human motion. For instance, Ataxia is a disease that affects one s movement and coordination. Cerebellar ataxia is when the part of the brain that controls ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Skepticism is the doubt about the truth of something and that absolute knowledge is not possible. The method of hyperbolical doubt, also known as methodic doubt, is a methodical process of being skeptical about the truth of one s belief. According to the article Descartes Epistemology, Hyperbolical Doubt is perceived to mean that one applies doubt to all candidates of knowledge. However, Descartes sees hyperbolical doubt as this: when one decides to doubt their knowledge, one must apply their doubt to all candidates collectively and start at the foundation. As the phrase goes, one bad apple can spoil a bunch, one false piece of knowledge can cause an entire belief to collapse. RenГ© Descartes describes three skeptical arguments in Meditation I. The first argument is about how one cannot rely solely on senses for knowledge because senses can be deceiving. One often makes decisions and judgments based on what one sees, hears, feels, smells, and so forth; therefore, when one experiences some form of sensory illusion, their judgment is impaired and the information can possibly be false. For example, a person can be driving on a highway on a scorching hot summer day and be absolutely certain that he or she sees a puddle of water on the road ahead.
