Historical Development Of Statutory Protection
Chapter 1: The Statutory Protection The historical development of statutory protection to workers
within employment
The development of employment law has brought many changes that have affected the rights of the
worker and the rights of the employer. Thus it is essential to outline the history of where such
limitations might have accrued in the law. Although, references in this title will not stretch so far to
the Combinations Act 1799, it does however pinpoint offences that continue to link with the most
recent form of document. By attempting to persuade one to not work or even to refuse work to a
person is still an offence. Trade unions expanded throughout the years where the significant Master
and Servant Act 1867 brought out the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The link between this and the Equal Pay Act in 1975 also began the Sex Discrimination Act which
prohibited discrimination against potential job applicants and employees on the grounds of sex and
marital status.[6] Bowers points out that the 1974 76 legislation was very difficult to the nation
where even more strikes occurred.[7] However, the Conservative legislation between 1980 and
1995 was introduced to tighten those abused powers of the employers and unions from the
Employment Act 1980. Some may argue that this did little to the operation so throughout the years
further development was made with regards to equal treatment, pension schemes, and individual
employment rights. Overall it was combined within the Employment Rights Act 1996 where these
provisions from Employment Protection (Consolidation) Act 1978, the Wages Act 1986 and the

Obese People In Mississippi
We as a state have a problem Mississippi is the state full of the most obese people in the country. It
is recorded that 35.1% of the people living in Mississippi are overweight, that being said we have
to make a change to our state in some way. I don t entirely blame the people of Mississippi for
being overweight; I think our state is to blame to. It is not our fault there is not much to do; the
state needs to find more activities for kids and adults. I think that is why people in other states
are not as obese as the people in Mississippi. The state with the least amount obese people in it is
Colorado but I mean I can see why; there is so much more to do in Colorado you can go

The Ge Fanuc, Inc.
In this argument I will be explaining the relevance of the GE Fanuc, Inc. reasons behind the
spearheading of a critical project for the accessibility of implementing quality components into an
already quality product. I will also exhibit the complexity of benchmarking such a project, its
necessity, and the complexities that were involved in its rudiments. The reasons for the GE Fanuc,

The effective results for the testing of these products and the statistical significanceobtained from an

The Audio Engineer
A vital part in the making of any professionally made album is the production and post
production process. These processes are the responsibility of audio engineers employed by record
labels. The engineers are responsible for the recording, mixing, and mastering of audio tracks. To
do this, engineers are trained with various technologies in the fields of multi track recording,
outboard gear and digital/analog workstations. With their knowledge and tools, engineers help the
artists convey their art as best as possible not only to themselves but also to the demographic they
wish to express their art to.
The job of the engineer can be best described as a presenter in a techno artistic field. The job
requires the technical capabilities and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to an interview of noted audio engineer Simon Kasprowicz what makes a good engineer
from a bad is totally subjective and depends upon individual desire because what may sound
fantastic to someone, others will find fault in (Kasprowicz, about.com).
When all of the tracks of a project have been recorded, assembled, and edited onto the digital audio
workstation or tape deck, the next step would be to individually mix the elements of their work in
their final edited forms. The mix down process occurs by routing the various tracks of a digital
audio workstation or tape based recorder through a hardware virtual mixing console to alter the
overall session s program, all which include getting relative level, spatial positioning, using
equalizers, and effects. Once these measures are taken care of, the engineer can then set up a
rough mix of the song by adjusting levels and the spatial pan positions. The producer who is
mostly provides feedback to the artist and the engineer during the session, listens to the mix and
may ask the engineer to make specific changes such as amplitude adjustments. Instruments in their
isolated tracks are often soloed for equalized changes to be made. The usual compression and
limiting can be used in the mixing process to make individual tracks sound fuller and more
consistent

Manley Pointer
Things are Not Always as They Seem with Good Country People
Why that looks like the nice dull young man that tried to sell me a Bible yesterday, Mrs. Hopewell
said, squinting. He must of been trying to sell them to the
Negros back in there. He was so simple, she said, but I guess the world would be better off if we
were all that simple (145). At the end of the story, Mrs. Hopewell considers
Manley Pointer simple. Little did she know that this simple man had just caused Hulga severe
mental and physical anguish. Her ignorance towards the underlying evil in the world turns out to
be her greatest fault. Situations are not always as they seem, and unless one first looks within, his
or her weaknesses may be exploited ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Bible carried by Manley turns out to be nothing more than a hiding place for a pocket flask
of whiskey, a pack of cards, and a small blue box with printing on it (135). Joy Hulga appears to
be accepting of her situation, but she is still very ashamed of her appearance. In the story, both
Hulga and Manley wear masks over their true natures. Their final confrontation, however, reveals
Manley to be a cunning atheist while Hulga is exposed as a girl whose naivete sharply contradicts
the nihilistic cliches she professes. After the confrontation in the hay loft with Hulga, Manley is
revealed as an abuser and a thief, but only to Hulga. There are two types of irony throughout this
story, situational irony and verbal irony. Situational irony is found when Hulga is expecting to
seduce an innocent, however, it turns out to be quite different. Joy Hulga is easily the most
taken advantage of character in the entire story. As her ugly sounding name implies, she appears
ugly and evil, but deep down she has a desire for love and happiness. She says, I am one of those
people who see through to nothing (115). Little does she know, that she recognizes one of her
greatest weaknesses in this statement. Hulga has said one thing but her hidden desires cause her
several problems later on. For example, the whole scene that takes place in the hay loft, which is
know as verbal irony. Manley was

An Overview of Malaysia s Foreign Policy As an extension of domestic policy, foreign policy is
designed with the purpose in mind of defending and promoting the country s national security,
economic and other vital interests. Despite the diversity of views regarding the perception and
explanation of foreign policy, no foreign policy can be formulated in a vacuum. It must serve to
function in a dynamic environment. Malaysia s foreign policy is no exception. Various
geographical, historical, social and political determinants contribute to shaping the nature of

Malaysia in turn becomes the target for being too vocal . But this is something that we need to
take in our own stride if Malaysia is to be proactive at the global level. As a small developing
country player in the international arena, Malaysia needs to firmly uphold the principles of the UN
charter as a defence of last resort. Certain fundamental principles governing interstate relations
would continue to guide Malaysia s relations with other countries. These refer to sovereign equality
and mutual respect for territorial

integrity, mutual non aggression, non interference in each other s internal affairs, peaceful
settlement of disputes as well as mutual benefit in relations and peaceful coexistence. These
principles have stood the test of time. Indeed, our steadfast adherence to these principles, supported
by a consistent foreign policy, has established for Malaysia certain credibility in the eyes of the
international community. Malaysia has repeatedly stressed the importance of adhering to the
especially important principle of non interference in internal affairs, particularly in the context of
regional relations. The so called constructive intervention policy advocated by some, involving loud
criticism, adversarial posturing and grand standing would only bring more harm than good to the
promotion of neighbourly relations. We do make exceptions to the policy of non interference in

If the result is a major change to the work, then a new baseline may be agreed against which future
performance is then tracked. Over Expenditure. Should over expenditure threaten during the
implementation of the project the following measures may help restore the situation: Renegotiate
budget, work scope and specifications. Sell off excess inventory for cash injection. Eliminate
rework, wastage, theft, spoilage and scope creep. Optimise schedule/budget since an ambitious
schedule is usually expensive. Shun perfection and extra checks, and settle for good enough .
Ensure all charges are accurate, legitimate and properly authorised. Schedule Slippage. Should
unacceptable schedule slippage occur during project implementation, the following measures may
help keep the project on track: Renegotiate finish date, work scope, and/or performance standards.
Apply the minimum float rule whereby we first accelerate critical tasks. Redeploy resources to
focus effort on critical and near critical tasks. Undertake more work concurrently (fast tracking).
Work overtime and/or contract out work. Risk Management. Risk Management must be a
continuous activity throughout our project in order to prevent risks becoming issues. Thus, risks
will be a topic at every meeting during project implementation.

Rome was a trading center that was owned by the Carthaginians. There were trading ports and
settlements all over the central and western Mediterranean. The growing and regional powers in
Sicily by the Carthaginian worlds caused the clash between them and Rome. There were three
major wars called the Punic wars. There was an unsuccessful march of Hannibal over the Alps
whose aim was to invade Italy. The Greeks and Roman affairs were quite tough. The Romans

Aristotle s Use Of Ethos Pathos Logos
Throughout my studies at Seton Hall, particularly in Journey of Transformation and Christianity
Culture and Dialogue we covered the works of Aristotle. It is interesting to learn how the Greeks
were among the first to use persuasion. Aristotle defined rhetoric as the faculty of observing in any
given case, the available means of persuasion (17). Aristotlebelieved that persuasion consist of
artistic and inartistic proofs. When giving a persuasive speech we are able to control certain
aspects of it such as the delivery, evidence and word usage which are the artistic proofs. The
persuader has the ability to get creative in order to engage the audience and get his message
across. However, the speaker is also subject to certain constraints such as the occasion or the time
that has been allocated to the speaker... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then we have Pathos which uses an emotional appeal in order to get an emotional response.
Recently, Texas suffered a suffered a severe catastrophe because of Hurricane Harvey. This led
to many homes, buildings and families torn apart. Recent Commercial Ads are depicting these
images in order for the public to feel sorrow and donate funds for the cause. Many individuals do
not want to live with the guilt of not helping out and so they decide to donate for a good cause,
thus eliminating that regret. Finally, we have this idea of logos which is the idea of using
logical or rational appeals (17). Lagos uses things such as polls, facts or statistics to appeal to
the audience. A recent example of Lagos would be the campaign promises that President Donald
Trump made to the American people. One of them was the he promised a 4% GDP growth
during his tenure. For investors or the ordinary person, this creates speculation that the future of
the economy will be bright. When I am preparing a persuasive speech, whether it be in the

back of mind in order to achieve

Genetically Modified Food

future and will lead to solving the famine issues of the future. I heard lots of scientists were
researching the Genetically Modified Food and that they had already ended the experiment. So I
thought no one would have to bear hunger. Nowadays, despite the progress on Genetically
Modified Food, many people continue to suffer from famine. A lot of Genetically Modified Food

Persuasive Essay About Illegal Immigration
Illegal Immigration Illegal immigration in the U.S first began with the Chinese in the 1800 s.
The big reasons they migrated to the U.S was to work in the gold mines, build railroads, and
work in agricultural jobs. Americans didn t like the idea of the Chinese taking all the labor. For
that reason the Chinese were being discriminated and a law was passed. The law was known as the
Chinese Exclusion Act, it restricted the Chinese from immigrating to the United States for 10 years.
It also demanded for all Chinese flying into and out of the country to have a certificate that
identified their status. The Act wasn t repealed till 1943. Of course later on and even today many
other ethnics that migrated to the U.S will still face discrimination and encounter laws being put
upon them. The causes for illegal immigrationinclude the hope for a better life, a safer environment,
and the effort needed for the process of naturalization. While an outcome is discrimination. One
cause of illegal immigration is the hope for a better life. The biggest reasons many illegal
immigrants come to the U.S is because it offers education, better jobs, and better health care. In
the U.S the education is free where as in other countries you may need to pay for school and
supplies and a bunch of other stuff that are need for school. Usually some schools will give out
free supplies, that is until they run out. There are also always some organizations and programs that

Homosexuality Portrayed in Literature: Threat To Yourself and Those Around You
The Victorian era and Elizabethan era had many homophobic attributes, just as today s society does.
Gothic writers of the Victorian Age played off of the fear and immorality of homosexualityand used
those feelings as a basis for their novels. Bram Stoker told a story about a vampire that challenged
the Victorian gender roles and managed to reverse them, making men faint like women, and making
women powerful like men, and called it Dracula. Mary Shelley created a a physical being out of a
man s suppressed homosexuality due to his Victorian male upbringing; a man named Frankenstein.

People believe that by allowing homosexuals to marry that it will threaten the sanctity of marriage
. Homosexual men are infamous for being promiscuous, at least that is the label that has been
placed on most if not all homosexual men, and for this reason sexually transmitted diseases have
become something expected of them. This must have been a belief in the Victorian era, since
syphilis was the disease that was feared and said to have come from sodomy. In this era, violence
from society also attacked homosexuality. Homosexuals were hung, or lynched. (Sadownick par. 5)
This history of homophobia shows that it grows in society from a person s upbringing. Things
occur in a person s life that cause them to act in certain ways and believe specific things. The
public hatred of gay men taught the generations that being gay was wrong, and that people that
were gay needed to be punished. Homophobia was strong in the days of the Gothic writers, and
though it has weakened, it still affects people in today s society. It even dates back to the
Renaissance days, and is presented by Dante Aligheri is his Inferno. And for this reason doth the

which is where sodomy gets its name from. Since the Inferno is a world created by Dante, he
believes that sodomy is a sin that is worse than suicide, and decides to put it just before the entrance

Hollywood Portrayal Of Native People
Hollywood has been making movies about many people throughout the begining. One of the most
popular types of these movies is old westerns with cowboys and Indigenous people. Hollywood
has not always represented an accurate portrayal of Indigenous peoples in the portrayal of all
Indigenous Peoples as Plains Peoples, savages, and constantly warring against other tribes. The
Indigenous Peoples were not all Plains Peoples. Many of the indigenous people were from the
southwest United States, with many splinter groups and many more different cultures (Text 5). With
hollywood s portrayal of the Plains people they lost all the cultureof the many groups of people
who were very different. With the loss of the culture and only one culture of the Indigenous
peoples represented the reality of the representation was sorely inaccurate. The Iroquois were a
group of people in the Central New York region who had a largely different culture from the
Plains People. Their society was a matriarchal society, in which the women would own the land
and head the family (Text 1). The Plains People were not portrayed in such a fashion making an
even bigger gap in the representation of each culture. The Indigenous Peoples were often
portrayed as savages within Hollywood s culture. When Mary Rowlandson was captured and
enslaved by a tribe of Indigenous People near her she saw who they really were. They may have

Phishing Is A Social Engineering Luring Technique
Phishing is a social engineering luring technique, in which an attacker aims to steal sensitive
information such as credit card information and online banking passwords from users. Phishing is

A Stream of Consciousness in A Rose for Emily by William...
A Rose for Emily is a short story written by American author William Faulkner and centres around
an old lady named Emily. The story is written in the classic Faulkner method of a streaming
consciousness. By constructing the story through use of the stream of consciousness, Faulkner is
able to manipulate the predetermined short storystructure and create an outstanding, critically
acclaimed story. In using the thematic concept of creating contrasts between two opposing entities,
Faulkner is able to entice his audience. Through the use of the specific contrasts made between the
past and present and the contrast between Homer and, Faulkner is able to pass to his readers the
concept that man s plight is tragic but that there is heroism in an attempt to rise above it.
Ray B. West s Atmosphere and Theme in Faulkner s A Rose for Emily is a paper in which West
does an excellent job of analysing and explaining the three stated contrasts present in Faulkner s A
Rose to Emily. West s interpretation of the contrasts present in A Rose for Emily, further validate
the point of view that the use of contrasts aid Faulkner in his plight to relay the underlying meaning
concealed in the story. Contrast between Past Timeand Present
In the course of A Rose for Emily, there are many instances in which William Faulkneruses the
contrast between past time and the present to illustrate how hard it is for the protagonist, Emily, to
let go of the past. A key and integral example

Online Shopping Advantages
Advantages of Online Shopping
Shopping has changed a lot in the past few decades. Globalization has ensured we have more
choice available you can buy Indian food in Canada or sing Japanese tunes in the UK. But it s
not just that we are able to shop more goods, we also shop differently. Long gone are the days
when we walked into a store to pick our goods. Nowadays, we take our laptops or smartphones and
browse the internet, shopping for the things we want with a few clicks of a button.
But is shopping online just the new normal we have to accept? Could it actually be a beneficial
way of shopping? Let s consider the advantages of online shopping.
We have more variety
As mentioned, variety has increased in recent decades thanks to globalization. But the true enabler
is the internet. Brick and mortar stores would never be able to house so many foreign goods all
over the world the easiest way is to have an online store and to then utilize the fast global shipping
channels.
The variety of online stores is not confined with space you can have hundreds of products from the
same brand or from hundreds of different brands all under the same roof. If you want Asian skin
care products, then you can find them.
Variety isn t just about the availability of different brands, products or services. You can even
make more conscious decisions in terms of how you shop. If you want to find organic food or
makeup, the Internet has made it easy for you to do so. Even if you don t want

In this achievement standard, it is critical that I go over the point of The Bible. It is not just a book,
it is a spiritual experience. It is not just based on fact, it is a relatable book that demands its own
genre, known as The Gospel (meaning the good news). It is also impossible to add to, because
there is no change needed. Take a look at National Geographic. They tried to push forward a
newly discovered gospel known as the gospel of Judas . Obviously, this is not plausible because
there is no documented writing of Judas account in the Bible.
You also can t just open the Bible and expect to know the Lore inside and out. The Bible is a
book with many a secret hidden away under words. It may appear cryptic, but it s so that it can
relate to so many people over so many ages. If it were just based on this one specific
interpretation, then it wouldn t be as relatable and holy as it is now.
Note that I ll be using the Blue Red Gold text Bible, because it is quite nice to use.
Now that that s out of the way, let us begin.

The Globalization of Coffee and the Need for Intercultural...
Coffee has played a major role in the lives of many people around the world. Yet, poetic as its

Many multinational corporations in the coffee industry have succeeded tremendously such as
Starbucks. Each of these corporations has strategies that helped them continue to expand to nations
of different cultures, ethnicities, governmental practices, and locations. Finally, global economic
issues have an immense influence on the world of coffee. Throughout history there has been a
pattern that coffee producing countries are economically worse off than those that are consuming
the coffee. Pendergrast mentions that in 1950 the average income in consuming countries was
three times that of coffee growing nations. By the late 1960s it was five times great (270). With
that said, many producing coffee countries were facing endemics and malnourished peoples
because workers were receiving absurdly low wages thus placing them into poverty and human
suffering (271). Specifically, although 90 percent of El Salvador s exports consisted of coffee in
the 1930s, they agonized from low wages, incredible filth...[under] conditions in fact not far
removed from slavery (168). Global economic issues of these producing countries lead to dictators
easily gaining power such as those in Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Honduras (170). Not only was
politics a matter that resulted from global economic issues, the high interest rates from financial

Death By Falling Trash Essay
Death By Falling Trash Scientists are warning people about the dangers of the space junk
orbiting around the Earth. There is so many issues with the trash is space, but no one has tried to
solve the problem. Many people believe that something needs to be done about it because it is a
huge problem. On the other hand, some people believe that it is not a big deal and people need to
stop worrying about it. Trash is clustering in space, and could potentially be dangerous to the

According to DOGOnews, The biggest threat came in July 2011 when scientists noticed American

Symbolism In King Of The Bingo Game By Ralph Ellison
In the fiction story, King Of The Bingo Game, by Ralph Ellison, tells the story of how the narrator
is racially profiled. It tells the story of an African American in the 1900 s and how they were treated.
One may think that the setting took place at an actual bingo hall, but others may think that the
narrator was in fact in a mental institute. Instead of playing bingo, the narrator is in psychotherapy
session. It is believed that the narrator, through symbolism, is presenting symptoms of a mental
illness. Whereas the narrator is playing bingo, the story symbolizes a psychotherapy session in
place at a mental institute, displaying symptoms of paranoid schizophrenia. Psychotherapy is the
treatment by psychological means for mental disorder. Regarding the mental disorders, the narrator
encounters others that symbolizes such disorders; woman eating peanuts has an eating disorder,
the men drinking wine has alcoholism and the young girls with intense faces have anger disorders.
According to the American Psychological Association, a benefit of psychotherapy sessions
involves others from a variety of mental disorders. He saw the screen disappear... And the man
with the microphone and a uniformed attendant coming on the stage (Ellison 75), symbolizes a
psychologist and a nurse coming on stage to start session. In addition to the stage, Ellison writes
he stumbled down the aisle and up the steps to the stage into a light, emphasizing that the session
involves some form of icebreaker activity, but also unveiling such symptoms. To illustrate the
mental institute, the narrator describes remembering the trapdoor... and find the girl tied to a bed
(Ellison 74). Many medical facilities have a seclusion room where they isolate patients who are
violent or self destructive, with medical restraints, according to Gale Springer from the American
Nurse Today. The girl tied to the bed symbolizes the use of medical restraints and her clothing torn
to rags (Ellison 74), suggest that the girl was doing harm upon herself or to others. One may think
the narrator s comment on everything was fixed (Ellison 75), was about the constant visits to the
bingo hall looking the same. In the perspective of a mental institute, an

Cheerleading Injuries
According to Dictionary.com, the definition of sport is an athletic activity that requires physical
prowess or skill and often a competitive nature; so by that definition, cheerleading is a sport
(Popoloski). Cheerleading is defined as a sport because it meets the requirements of a sport:
competitive physical exertion and chance of injury.
Due to the fact that cheerleaders can become greatly injured from cheerleading like other athletic
activities that are said to be sports proves that cheerleading is a sport (Tanner). Injuries can be
caused by a variety of things such as, tumbling, flyers and bases hitting the ground after
performing a risky stunt and even people colliding. USA Today states that The American Medical
Association says cheerleading should be considered a sport because of its rigors and risks
(Tanner). Since a medical association is stating how dangerous and rigorous cheerleading is, their
belief on whether or not cheer should be considered a sport is very credible. AMA continues to
support its claim that cheerleading should be a sport by stating other facts. Also, the National
Center for Catastrophic Sport Injury Research said that cheerleading is actually the number one
cause of serious sports injuries to women ( TeenInk ). Statistically speaking the National Center for

Oscar Wilde Research Paper
Oscar Wilde is one of the most celebrated playwrights and poets of the Victorian era. He led an
incredible complex life, he was a gay man living in the Victorian era and was also interested in
Catholicism. The influence of Catholicism and Christianity can be seen in many of his works. His
struggles with his sexuality are also laminated in his poetry. The two often go together, Wilde
struggled to rationalize his sexuality with Catholicism, this struggle is seen in the themes in his
poems. The religious and aesthetic themes in Oscar Wildes poetry reflects his struggle with his
sexuality and religion.

The speaker refers to Endymion as lover, Be you my lover s sentinel (Anne 8). Lover is a term
for a long time that queer couples would call each other, instead of partner or girlfriend or

know my love (Anne 12). The mentality that love is not a choice is a common one in the queer
community, being gay is not a choice, so love isn t a choice. This poem showcases his sexuality
in relation to his poetry; while not having Christian themes, the religious themes of this poem are
Greek. Endymion is from a Greek myth about a very handsome sheep herder. He uses religious
themes to articulate his struggle with religion and his sexuality, in this poem he uses it to show
acceptance of his sexuality. Oscar Wilde is known as one of the best playwrights and poets of the
Victorian era. His works withstand the test of time, managing to be relatable to audiences now. He
often used the figurative freedom of poetry to express his sexuality. His infatuation with
Catholicism is reflected in much of his poetry. His struggle with his sexuality in the context of the

There are many major physical changes that take place during the course of adolescence. Many

3. WHAT ARE THE MAJOR MILESTONES RELATED TO THE PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT
IN EARLY, MIDDLE, AND LATE ADULTHOOD? BRIEFLY DESCRIBE THESE MILESTONES.
There is a major difference between the studies of infancy; childhood, adolescence, and adulthood
because doctors and researchers begin to investigate the loss of function, rather than the major
increases of function seen in earlier years.
EARLY ADULTHOOD: Major physical changes that occur in early adulthood include changes to
the brain and nervous system, growth spurts, sex differences, declines in physical functioning,
changes in the heart and lungs, changes in strength and speed, reproductive capacity, and immune
system functioning. Within the brain and nervous system, most functions have become localized in
specific areas of the brain, new synapses continue to form, myelinization is occurring, and old
connections are dying off (Boyd Bee, 2006). Surprisingly, recent research has suggested that some
parts of the brain produce new neurons to replace those that die (even within the brains of those in
the early adulthood stage).
The loss of physical functioning affects almost every major organ in young adulthood. More

A Discussion On The Green Movement
This chapter starts with a discussion on the Green movement in Iran and then attempts to
problematize it empirically through a critical reasoning. In this research, a virtual public sphere in
Iran is discussed. Theoretically, the public sphere is the space in which citizens deliberate their
common issues and criticize the state without fear. Habermas definition of the public sphere
reminds places such as salons, coffee shops and teahouses rather than Internet based spheres. In
this regard, post Habermasian thinkers assert that all social media and technology based
apparatuses can be studied as a new realm of the public sphere. This approach goes beyond the
basic description in which Habermas (1982) refers to the 17th and 18th centuries... Show more

Nowadays, social media provide a virtual public sphere in which people are able to talk and share
their comments and discuss different topics. The evidence demonstrates the virtual public sphere
has become a great arena of discussion for people in Iran, yet it should be declared that there is a
long term discussion whether or not cyberspaces media could be a positive way of doing
politics. For instance, Kranzberg (1985, p. 50) believes, Technology is neither good nor bad, nor
is it neutral. At any rate, despite many red lines and censorship that newspapers, news agencies
and other official media are faced; the new social media can publish the news, share the ideas and
circulate different topics. Having said that, this paper is aware of sophisticated filtering of social
media in Iran, which causes many limitations for citizens, however, people use VPN to circumvent
this filtering and distributing the news.

criticize or expand his theory. The basic empirical research of this study showed that the Iranian

The General Analysis Of Invertebrate Richness And...
DISCUSSION
The general analysis of invertebrate richness and diversity prove that shallow leaf litter is more
biodiverse than deep leaf litter. From graph 2, shallow leaf litter is proven to be more biodiverse
where the spread of invertebrate richness is higher with a relatively low rate of error denoted by
the low standard deviation. Similarly, figure 6 also shows a similar trend where the mean of
shallow leaf litter diversity was greater than deep leaf litter. The mean results of invertebrate
abundance also show shallow leaf litter to be more abundant, however this is affected by the
extreme outlier seen in figure 2, where there is a large leeway for error due to the high standard
deviation. This may be due to human error due to transcription, an error in counting the amount of
species or the designated shallow leaf litter contained species that were extremely common,
providing a large abundance value. However, figure 1 and the comparison of boxplots in graph 1,
show the overall values of deep leaf litter are centred higher, indicating that deep leaf litter has
greater abundance, excluding outliers.
Similarly, the analysis of richness and diversity indicate that deep light traps are more biodiverse
than shallow light traps and are quite trustworthy as shown by the low standard deviations.
According to figure 6, the mean of both habitats were very similar but deep light traps had a
slightly higher mean. Abundance of deep light traps also proves to be greater if we

Caterpillar, obviously, has taken on a large amount of risk to itself because of this. If Caterpillar
were forced to liquidate its assets and pay off its debt, it would have a very hard time trying.
Therefore, Caterpillar s receivable account is a real weakness to the corporation as a whole.
Inventories
Inventories have been valued $871 million, an increase of $150 million from last year. This can
be viewed in a multitude of ways. Caterpillar may be expecting larger sales volume, and are trying
to compensate. Caterpillar could have inventory control problems. Usually, inventory increases are
viewed as a negative with a company that should be in theory practicing a just in time approach.
Cash
Cash on hand is $398 million. This is only a $110 million increase from December 31, 1999. This
means relatively little, as the cash flows for the corporation is what really matters. One look at the
statement of cash flows indicates that Caterpillar keeps capital expenditures consistent quarter after
quarter. The change in cash and short term investments indicate the company is removing most of
its liquidity. The movement from cash has been used to alleviate its debt.

The Baha I Faith
The Baha i faith is a modern day cornerstone of equality and religious acceptance. They believe
that all other religions are valid and preach religious acceptance. They strongly believe that if wars
are fought over religion it s better to be without religion as a whole. Religion is intended to unite
humanity. The temples are places for prayer and reflection, which allows the individual to make a
personal connection to godwithout the need to connect through clergy or a priest. They also
maintain that women are to be viewed as equals in every respect to men.
There is no specific clergy in the Baha i faith. They don t believe that you need a middle man to
attain a connection with god. There are many faiths in the world that have the need for a priest or
other church clergy that you must speak with in order to practice the religion. The 7 temples that are
currently opened worldwide are all of similar constructions. Each temple has 9 sides and the
number 9 is associated with perfection. The prayer services are just that, prayer. When you
attend a service there are no other messages given then that of prayer. These services are not led
by clergy. They are led by followers of the Baha i faith that volunteer to lead a prayer service.
There is no talking allowed in the temple because the temple is a place of prayer and reflection. In
addition, on certain Sundays they have prayer services with the addition of a choir to sing or chant
songs. The choir sings 3

The Importance Of Visual Ethnography
The Importance of Visual Ethnography Reading an ethnographic research paper can allow us to
imagine and perceive cultures in a certain perspective that is the author s point of view.
Ethnography is a process of representing knowledge of human lives by collecting data to
experience, interpret and represent human cultures according to the researcher s view. However,
this representation of data is predetermined by the author and is therefore subjective in a way, as
people s emotions are analyzed according to the author s perspective. Moreover, there are certain
aspects of their living style that cannot be expressed in words such as their cultural ceremonies,
describing sounds and arousing certain feelings. There are ways to overcome this limitation of
expression that is to include the use of photography, audio recordings, filmography and performing
a play. This visual representation of data allows us to feel emotionally connected to the cultureas we
interpret it from our own perspective, but this depends on the way the data is recorded. Humans
consume the world visually, and photography is a visual representation of the world. Photographs
allow the informant to observe and analyze the photo in their own perception. Visual images are not
just the means of data collection or illustration of text but as a medium through which new
knowledge and critiques may be created (Chaplin qtd. in Pink, 13). Sometimes it is difficult to
describe certain objects or the surrounding in

Strategic Management Case Study Assignment Question 1. How well do you think the

governance is a set of actions used to handle the relationship between stakeholders by
determining and controlling the strategic direction and performance of the organization.
Corporate governance major concern is making sure that the strategic decisions are effective
and that it paves the way towards strategic competitiveness. (Hitt, Ireland, Hoskisson, 2017, p.

manager s and stakeholders interest. That is why corporate governance is involved when there is
a conflict of interest between with the owners, managers, and members of the board of directors
(Hitt, Ireland, Hoskisson, 2017, p. 310 311). There are three internal and one external governance
mechanisms used for owners to govern managers to ensure they comply with their responsibility
to satisfy stakeholders and shareholder s needs. First, ownership concentration is stated as the
number of large block shareholders and the total percentage of the shares they own (Hitt, Ireland,
Hoskisson, 2017, p. 317). Second, the board of directors which are elected by the shareholders.

The 4 H s In The Odyssey
Myths have a very important function in the story that may not be the most obvious idea. Myths
explains a code of behavior with rewards and punishments. Odyssey explains the 4 H s through the
actions and adventure of Odysseus. The 4 H s are the honor, hospitality, hubris, and heroism that
comes from greek mythology. Honor means reputation of excellence and back then in time of
Odysseus it didn t necessarily mean one was to be a good person. Hospitality is retreating a
stranger with respect and protection, and providing what they need. Hubris, the opposite of
humility, refers to extreme, ignorant pride or arrogance which is can be punished by the gods.
Heroism using one s brains as much as they use their muscle. First, throughout the story we can see
Odysseus achieve honor. However Odysseus honor is different from ours. He killed men and
kidnapped women for honor. He found his honor in Ismarus when (he), I stormed that place and
killed the men who fought. Plunder we took, and we enslaved the women, to... Show more content

Deep into Odysseus encounter of the Polyphemus also shows heroism because of what he did to
save his men and escape the cave. He used his cunningness to save his fellow mate representing
heroism, Blinded and sick with pain from his head wound, the monster stroked each ram, then
let it pass, but my men riding on the pectoral fleece the giant s blind hands blundering never
found (pg 993). Secondly you can see Odysseus heroism through his interaction with the
goddess, Athena. After he received an image of a god using it to prove that he is actually
Odysseus, Lithe and young she made him, ruddy with sun, his jawline clean, the beard no
longer gray upon his chin. Your cloak is new: even your skin! You are one of the gods who rule the
sweep of heaven! (line 1019 1027). This represents Odysseus heroism, he uses his brain to use his
new body as a disguise from his family only to prove himself right as

Picture Of The Indian Culture And Society
Picture of the Indian Culture and Society : Malgudi Days R.K Narayan Chapter 1 Malgudi Days
is a gathering of short stories composed by R.K.Narayan and likely the most renowned title
connected with R.K.Narayan with the special case of Swami and Friends. So what is so unique
about R.K.Narayan s exposition that earned him so much honors? That is only the catch. There
is nothing unique and that is the place the claim to fame lies. The composition is disarmingly
basic, the dialect is not adapted or even colloquial(slang). It is basically English, yet the
complete self, the accent and society is unashamedly Indian. Furthermore, that is the thing that
made Narayan acclaimed. That unmistakable Indian touch in a period when it was stylish for
Indian creators to gorilla the West. Instead of calling them short stories, it would be ideal to call
them a gathering of accounts or even tales. For you won t discover solid, affectionate, plot and
activity arranged stories yet simply customary existences of conventional individuals in all its
commonness. Some of them differ a touch: a percentage of the stories are humorous, some
gently fabulous, some sad, some comic, however a large portion of them mirroring the cross
area of social life in India in Narayan s period. This is reflected in the way Narayan once in a
while end a story rather unexpectedly without sewing every one of the pieces together. As it were
you may say that these stories have no starting or end. They re just

The Rights Of The United States
Imagine walking outside your house and seeing green grass, nice houses, clean streets, and
friendly people. When you are thinking of that you are thinking of America. Living in the United
States is a great place to live for all people. Living in America is great. Living in the United States
gives us the freedom to choose what we want to do, to have successful lives if we work hard
enough, and for all types of people to have opportunities. That is the United States. When living in
the United States all people have the freedom to choose what they want to do when they want to
do it. In America, we have laws that are put in place to protect the people. But we still have many
rightsand freedoms that allow us to do many activities. We do have something to protect us and
our rights. We have documents like the constitution and the bill of rights that have been written to
give the people rights and to protect the rights that we have been given. These documents have
been used for hundreds of years to protect the American people. These documents are still used
today because people today still want the same rights and freedoms that our founding fathers
wanted. We have these rights to give us the freedom to do what we want like choose a job or
career. In Franklin D. Roosevelts speech The Four Freedoms he says, The second is freedom of
every person to worship God in his own way . Roosevelt is giving a speech on the four freedoms
every person in the world should have. In America, we

According to an interview of noted audio engineer Simon Kasprowicz what makes a good engineer from a bad is totally subjective and depends upon individual desire because what may sound fantastic to someone, others will find fault in (Kasprowicz, about.com). When all of the tracks of a project have been recorded, assembled, and edited onto the digital audio workstation or tape deck, the next step would be to individually mix the elements of their work in their final edited forms. The mix down process occurs by routing the various tracks of a digital audio workstation or tape based recorder through a hardware virtual mixing console to alter the overall session s program, all which include getting relative level, spatial positioning, using equalizers, and effects. Once these measures are taken care of, the engineer can then set up a rough mix of the song by adjusting levels and the spatial pan positions. The producer who is mostly provides feedback to the artist and the engineer during the session, listens to the mix and may ask the engineer to make specific changes such as amplitude adjustments. It is not just a book, it is a spiritual experience. It is not just based on fact, it is a relatable book that demands its own genre, known as The Gospel (meaning the good news). It is also impossible to add to, because there is no change needed. Take a look at National Geographic. They tried to push forward a newly discovered gospel known as the gospel of Judas . Obviously, this is not plausible because there is no documented writing of Judas account in the Bible. You also can t just open the Bible and expect to know the Lore inside and out. The Bible is a book with many a secret hidden away under words. It may appear cryptic, but it s so that it can relate to so many people over so many ages. If it were just based on this one specific interpretation, then it wouldn t be as relatable and holy as it is now. Note that I ll be using the Blue Red Gold text Bible, because it is quite nice to use. Now that that s out of the way, let us begin. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It tells the story of an African American in the 1900 s and how they were treated. One may think that the setting took place at an actual bingo hall, but others may think that the narrator was in fact in a mental institute. Instead of playing bingo, the narrator is in psychotherapy session. It is believed that the narrator, through symbolism, is presenting symptoms of a mental illness. Cheerleading Injuries According to Dictionary.com, the definition of sport is an athletic activity that requires physical prowess or skill and often a competitive nature; so by that definition, cheerleading is a sport (Popoloski). Cheerleading is defined as a sport because it meets the requirements of a sport: competitive physical exertion and chance of injury. Due to the fact that cheerleaders can become greatly injured from cheerleading like other athletic activities that are said to be sports proves that cheerleading is a sport (Tanner). Injuries can be caused by a variety of things such as, tumbling, flyers and bases hitting the ground after performing a risky stunt and even people colliding. USA Today states that The American Medical Association says cheerleading should be considered a sport because of its rigors and risks (Tanner). Since a medical association is stating how dangerous and rigorous cheerleading is, their belief on whether or not cheer should be considered a sport is very credible. AMA continues to support its claim that cheerleading should be a sport by stating other facts. EARLY ADULTHOOD: Major physical changes that occur in early adulthood include changes to the brain and nervous system, growth spurts, sex differences, declines in physical functioning, changes in the heart and lungs, changes in strength and speed, reproductive capacity, and immune system functioning. Within the brain and nervous system, most functions have become localized in specific areas of the brain, new synapses continue to form, myelinization is occurring, and old connections are dying off (Boyd Bee, 2006). Surprisingly, recent research has suggested that some parts of the brain produce new neurons to replace those that die (even within the brains of those in the early adulthood stage). DISCUSSION The general analysis of invertebrate richness and diversity prove that shallow leaf litter is more biodiverse than deep leaf litter. From graph 2, shallow leaf litter is proven to be more biodiverse where the spread of invertebrate richness is higher with a relatively low rate of error denoted by the low standard deviation. Similarly, figure 6 also shows a similar trend where the mean of shallow leaf litter diversity was greater than deep leaf litter. The mean results of invertebrate abundance also show shallow leaf litter to be more abundant, however this is affected by the extreme outlier seen in figure 2, where there is a large leeway for error due to the high standard deviation. This may be due to human error due to transcription, an error in counting the amount of species or the designated shallow leaf litter contained species that were extremely common, providing a large abundance value. However, figure 1 and the comparison of boxplots in graph 1, show the overall values of deep leaf litter are centred higher, indicating that deep leaf litter has greater abundance, excluding outliers. Similarly, the analysis of richness and diversity indicate that deep light traps are more biodiverse than shallow light traps and are quite trustworthy as shown by the low standard deviations. According to figure 6, the mean of both habitats were very similar but deep light traps had a slightly higher mean. Abundance of deep light traps also proves to be greater if we ...
