of a Familyand Culture in Crisis, family plays an important role in the protagonists
lives. The Garden Party , written by Katherine Mansfield, is about an upper class
family throwing a party despite the news of the death of a neighbor. Laura, the
protagonist, feels the need to stop the party as to not be disrespectful, but her family
insists on throwing it. Hillbilly Elegy, written by J.D. Vance, is about the struggles
of the author as he grows up in a lower class hillbilly family, and his journey to break

based in part on true events. Melville referenced the memoir of the real Captain
Amasa Delano and his ships, the Perseverance, encounter with the Spanish vessel
Tryal in 1805. In his novel, Melville depicts Delano as the protagonist and follows
his ship s encounter with a Spanish vessel where the slaves have overthrown the
Spanish sailors. The protagonist Captain Amasa Delano, often referred to as the

Zeolite with an iron loading of 0.11% was used in a set of experiments to determine
the possibility of using zeolite in conjunction with Fenton s reagents in order to
destroy p Cresol in an aqueous solution. The results were compared to a homogenous
system at a pH of 2.5 using iron salt with an equivalent iron concentration of iron
amended zeolite and the rate of degradation in the heterogeneous system using the
iron amended zeolite was found to be half. The area of interest would be to use this
zeolite at neutral pH, and it was found that the rate of degradation using the iron

Enter into this environment, a young, poor, black woman from the projects.
Ursula was not prepared for their program. She was the only female in a school of
mostly white men. The school existed outside of her comfort zone, in a different
borough of New York. She had to take additional classes to catch up with her peers.

Ferris Bueller s Day Off is one of my favorite movies of all time. He lets go of all
responsibility for an entire day and is open to any and all adventures that come his
way which reminds me of my experience with yoga. We could all learn some very

I get to connect with myself and feel open to anything that comes my way. Ferris s

You were going to kill that archangel.
Gabriel had been in a festive mood since December 1st, and he d chosen to decorate
the bunker when he had been bored one day. Unfortunately for you, that meant he d
hung up dozens of mistletoe bunches everywhere. There was mistletoe outside your
door, in the hallway into the kitchen, and of course in every single doorway.
But that wasn t even the worst part. The worst bit was that Gabriel enchanted them so
that if someone accidentally walked under one, they couldn t move from that spot
until someone kissed them. And God forbid someone get stuck under there with

The Philosophy Of Moral Relativism
In the beginning of the semester, we were given an ethical inventory and I felt fairly
confident with my results. I ve never taken an ethics class before, so I was very
interested in learning about different philosophies. I came to class with an opened
mind and eager with curiosity and was intrigued by the many different philosophical
theories. This newfound information influenced my current stance when re taking the
inventory. There were a few questions which I had a change of heart in, most of these
questions circled around the philosophy of moral relativism and moral absolutism.
At the start of the course, I believed that right and wrong was not determined by one s
culture. I believed that every being acknowledges that there are certain overarching
morals, i.e., thou shalt not kill. By the end of the course, I changed my opinion on the
matter; this change is influenced by the philosopher, Ruth Benedict. Benedict s
philosophy of moral relativism states that morality is culturally relative morality is
dependent upon what is socially approved, and that good varies among different
societies. Each society has their own expectations of behavior, and that in turn molds
the morality of the individual. For example, an individual being brought up in Nazi
Germany will view the treatment of Jews as normal , not batting an eye, in seeing
them murdered. Nonetheless, I still stand behind my initial idea of a universal
morality but I understand and accept the role in which

The Cold War began at the end of World War II, 1947, and ended at the fall of the
USSR, 1991. It was a lengthy period of tension between two of the world s
superpowers, the United States and the Soviet Union, over the spread of communism.
Nationalism was at a high in both countries at this time. Unlike usual wars, the Cold
Warwas fought symbolically. Instead of the US and Soviet Unionbattling each other,
both countries uses competitions such as proxy wars, economic competition, public
relations, Nuclear Arms Race, The Space Race, spy games/covert operations, and
athletic competition, to show their power. Sporting events were the most public
displays of American Soviet Rivalry, especially at the Olympics from 1972 1984.

At the time of the Cold War, nationalism was at a high, especially for sportsmen.
Winston Churchill wrote a song which had the lyric, Here grim and gay we mean
to stay and stick it to the end sir! (Churchill 116) This lyric applied particularly to
American and Russian sportsmen in the 1972 184 Olympic Games. The
sportsmen had a do or die attitude. They could not bear to see defeat for their
respective country. They would rather die trying to win than lose. Churchill
expresses these feeling in the lyric as he writes that the men will stay until the end,
and not take the easy way out. This thought was seen in Rocky IV when Rocky
wanted to end the fight before Creed would get severely hurt, but Creed continued
to fight. His last words were I want you to promise me you re not gonna stop this
fight, no matter what. No matter what! Rocky approached Creed to tell him that
he wanted to end this fight, as Creed was getting killed, but Creed wouldn t hear of
it. Creed had to see the fight to end which demonstrated his do or die attitude; he
would rather die than forfeit a match to a Russian boxer. This attitude was his belief
