Essay On The Scientific Method
Crafting an essay on the scientific method can be both challenging and intellectually stimulating.
The scientific method is a systematic approach to inquiry that demands precision, logical
reasoning, and a keen understanding of various scientific principles. The difficulty lies in not
only comprehending the intricate steps of the scientific method but also in effectively
communicating these concepts to a diverse audience.
One must navigate through the complexities of observation, hypothesis formulation,
experimentation, data analysis, and drawing conclusions. The challenge is to strike a balance
between providing enough depth for those familiar with scientific procedures and ensuring
clarity for those new to the subject. Additionally, the essay should not merely serve as a
regurgitation of facts but should engage the reader with a thoughtful analysis of the method's
significance in the scientific community and its impact on our understanding of the world.
Furthermore, there is the task of avoiding excessive jargon that might alienate readers unfamiliar
with scientific terminology. Balancing technical accuracy with accessibility requires a careful
selection of language and the ability to translate complex concepts into layman's terms without
oversimplifying.
Researching the historical context, notable figures, and the evolution of the scientific method
adds an extra layer of complexity. An in-depth exploration of the topic requires delving into the
philosophy of science, the role of skepticism, and the interplay between theory and
experimentation.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the scientific method demands a nuanced approach, blending
scientific rigor with effective communication. It is an exercise in intellectual dexterity, requiring
the author to convey the intricacies of the method while ensuring accessibility to a broad
audience.

Alexandria During The Hellenistic Age
Alexandria became a very dominant and important royal capital during the
Hellenistic age, located on the edge of Egypt, Alexandria was able to advance
medically in various ways. The city was an exceptional place to learn, teach and
research medicine during its Hellenistic age time period. The advancement in science
and math, the geographical location, and the people of Alexandriaall contributed to
reaching the peak of medical breakthroughs. In order to support my claim on why
Alexandria was a place to further advance in medicine I will be using three ancient
sources from Michael Austin s book The Hellenistic world from Alexander to the
Roman conquest as well as scholarly views on the benefits and oppositions
Alexandria had towards medical advancement.
A major key in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Greek Science its Hellenistic Age by J.V. Luce, he was able to show how
Alexandria was looked upon as a city of great potential, with philosophers,
museums, a prospering city that grew to be monumental. Luce further describes
how science was looked upon for its benefiting factors that could contribute towards
medicine and how many rulers of Alexandria greatly supported the science and math
fields as much as too fund it with money and resources. Alexandria has been looked
at positively for its advancement in medicine and a major part of its advancement
was its knowledge through science and math. Alexandria is a place to learn about
medicine because they have knowledge on how to get from one step of the process to
another. In order then to greatly benefit from medicine that have to learn how to
become medically advanced and through science and math they were able to do that
with time. An example on how science and math techniques became well known in
Alexandria one of them being by Archimedes who discovered hydrostatics and the
deployment of measuring methods that lead him to greatly contribute to Alexandria
(Luce, 28). Archimedes himself was able to contribute
The Difference Between Hospital And Hospital

Live or Die
Hospital and clinic are two types of health care system that are undeniably different
from each other. However, both institutes, differ due to the differences in their nature.
Clinic is health center consulting private room beginning with a physician. A hospital
is place where the sick and injured are taken for treatment. The doctors and nurses are
readily available there for attending on their patients. They are employed by the
hospitals to nurse the sick back to health.
Both hospital and clinical have big differences between each, some examples include:
Size clinicals are smaller than hospitals and hospitals are larger than clinicals and,
Staffs clinicals are always runned by few practitioners and hospital has many doctors,
nurses and other medical techs. However, clinical mainly treats outpatients and, are
not open twenty four hour a day. Whereas hospitals treats both inpatients and
outpatients with open service of twenty four hour a day. Clinicals are not provided
with more departments whereas hospitals concludes of different departments with
different treatments.Deaths take place in the hospitals. On the other hand, deaths do
not take place in the clinics. Even if a patient comes in a serious condition, the doctor
at the clinic quickly transfers him to the nearby hospital (Difference between). Clinics
normally do not have emergency kits. On the other hand, all hospitals have
emergency kits
Internal And External Conflict In The Dark Knight
1.Explain the difference between internal and external conflict and provide an
example of each from a book or movie from outside this class.
a.Internal conflict is when a character is struggling with a thought or idea within
himself/herself. External conflict is when a character struggles with another character
or outside force. In the movie The Dark Knight, Batman constantly has both internal
and external struggles. His external struggles are with the villains he s up against.
His internal struggles are in his mind. He always questions if he has the right to tell
everyone what is right and what is wrong.
2.Provide an example of an internal conflict from one of the stories that you read in
unit 1. Be specific. What was the story, who was the character, and what was the
character conflicted about within himself/herself?
a.Stefano has internal conflict in The Colomber by Dino Buzzati. Knowing that
there was a creature waiting for him became an obsession for him. It would follow
him into the city and wake him with worry during the night. He was safe since he
was hundreds of miles away from the colomber. But knowing he was safe and
feeling safe were two different things. He still felt the fear from knowing that the
colomber was waiting for him. Moving to the most remote place would not put him
at ease. He d always know it was there.
5.Choose a story that you have read so far in this class and explain what the
motivation is for the protagonist in that story. Use specific
Alan Lightman s Einstein s Dreams
It s a wonderful place, this world or, at least what we get to see of it. From the
beautiful gardens of roses to the white tops of the mountains, each piece being
unique. Venturing out into the world and seeing these remarkable places takes time
and patience. Every aspect of our lives takes time out of it each day. Be it the blunt
and direct boss at work or the shy, passive Girl Scout selling cookies each of these
encounters takes timeto attend to and appreciate. Each person we encounter has a
place in time. Every so often these events may make someone feel that maybe they
have been here before or they know something about this moment but they are just
not sure what. Maybe it is the feeling of DГ©jГ vu or maybe it is just them passing
by their other life . To know the answer to this they will just have to live their lives
and see where it takes them through their travels. Alan Lightman s Einstein s Dreams
focuses on the twenty six year old genius, Albert Einstein, who has some unique
dreams while discovering his theory of time and relativity. Being the dreams of a
genius mind it is not an impossible stretch to think that time can stand still the closer
you are to the center of it, or that the world will come to an end as time runs out.
These concepts may seem farfetched to the average person, but, to a genius like
Einstein, it s understandable to wonder about people who cannot remember from one
day to the next or ponder the effects of time measured not in quantity but
Research Paper On Napoleon Bonaparte
Slade Rheaume Dr. Claussen Europe and Empire 7th November 2017 Research
Paper The French Revolution began as an expression of rebellion against centuries
of absolute rule in France. After an interim of experimental liberalism under the
rule of Jacobins and Girondins and then the infamous reign of terror, the people of
French were drawn to a man who promised them a return to stability, and honor
through the expansion of empire. France and it s people had long yearned for this

the rule of their prodigious, unbeatable general, Napoleon Bonaparte. He would soon

Napoleon seemed to have been seen as a man chosen and destined by god to find
victory, though in reality he was a workaholic, and spent long nights carefully
drafting his plans for battle. He was careful to maximize his manpower where it
counted most. That said, Napoleon saw a value in remaining unpredictable, always
maintaining an aggressive stance to force his opponent to respond to his moves. He
often determined that the moment was more important than manpower. Often, after
maneuvering for some time, Napoleon would order his men to charge towards the
enemy s approximate location. Sometimes he himself recalls that the approximation
was weak, but it was more important to move quickly and definitely, than to wait for
complete intelligence to reveal the true nature of the enemy s whereabouts.
Napoleon did not hold many rules on his troops when on the march, only that they
move at a steady pace and stay close together so that they could get into formation
quickly. Ultimately, it is clear that Napoleon had a natural gift for choosing the right
moves, and furthermore seemed to be at his best when under the pressure of an
intense battle, while the commanders of other armies tended to mishap. Napoleon is

know what was going to happen? How does Jackson foreshadow the ending?
Conversely, how does Jackson lull us into thinking that this is just an ordinary
story with an ordinary town? 1. I. Was not really surprised by the ending to this
story. I never really knew what was going to happen but I had a feeling that
something bad was about to when Jackson wrote about the stones being gathered in
huge piles. I also feel he foreshadowed the ending by telling the reaction of the
crowd when the paper was drawn. I think that he made us think this was ordinary by
saying all the towns had done it and it was a tradition.

because we knew something was going to happen and thought it was a bad something
but could not figure out what was going to actually happen.

Vlad The Impaler Essay
History is sometimes told through stories and this is a fact but sometimes, these
stories are not a hundred per cent loyal to what really happened in history. This
relationship between history and story is going to be the base for this work
because I have decided to do my essay about one of the topics given which is: From
history to story: Vlad the Impaler vs. Count Dracula . I chose this topic because I
love history and I am very curious about historical characters such as Prince Vlad
Tepes, which some people consider it is one of the inspirations to the Dracula s
author, Bram Stoker, and some other people think the opposite. It is not sure if he
really based his character on Vlad Tepes, but I think that there are some quotes on his

As I said before, he is known as Vlad the Impaler (in Romanian is Vlad Tepes) and
this has an explanation. He liked killing and torturing people in artistic ways and
one of this, and the most known, is the impaling of people. He liked to killed
enemies by inserting a long stick made of wooden or metal through his enemies
bodies (the pole usually was inserted on the sexual organs and it would come out
through the neck or the mouth). He also tried to prolong this suffering on the
victims for hours, maybe days, just for his pleasure. Some of the atrocities he
committed was when he celebrated a party where lot of boyars were invited, and
he made them all being impaled with stakes. With the impaled bodies, he made
rows (in an artistic way) and this is known as the Forest of the Impaled. It is known
that he liked to take dinner in the middle of the forest of impaled people to see them
suffering until their death. It is a mystery, but it is a story that has been told, that he
like to drink the blood of his victims. However, this has not been
Theme Of Cat In The Rain
Different Usage of Words Evokes Longing Differently
Longing for something, whether it is love, family etc. consumes a person s mind and
actions over time. To convey such emotion in prose or poetry, the arrangement of
words means everything and must be exact, for emotional impact on the reader.
Thus, even poetry and prose by the same author can end up with different word
choices and narratives, in order to convey longing as an emotion. This paper will
analyse Cat in the Rain (Ernest Hemingway) where a woman s desire for a cat
shows her longing for certain things in life; and Killed Paive (Ernest Hemingway) a
narration about lost feelings between the narrator and the addressed person. The
paper will examine how longing for someone is expressed ... Show more content on

Where the narrator in Cat in the Rain keeps a distance from the character and allows
variation in interpretation for the reader, the narrator in Killed Paive is the
protagonist, who includes the reader in the narrative through the usage of you . Thus,
the two narrators not only approach the reader in two different ways through the
tenor, the narrators also have different viewpoints overall.
Cat in the Rain displayed the causes of the characters behaviour, mainly the American
wife, Killed Paive displayed the inner thought of the protagonist, excluding the causes.
Meaning Killed Paive attempted to generate an emotional reaction upon the reader,
through its word choice in the description of the feeling longing in the narrator. In
contrast, the narrator in Cat in the Rain focused on the setting, whilst the words said
by the characters display the influence longing has on their emotions.
Where the two texts have similarities are in addition to the topic of longing, is the
usage of metonymy. Both texts chose to use an entity which projected the feelings
felt by the protagonist. Where Cat in the Rain used the cat as a literal physical entity,
expressing the inner feelings of the American wife, Killed Paive chose soul. Though
the soul is not a physical entity, it nevertheless, functions as the reflection of the
emotional turmoil felt by the

5. What could be a chemical cause of fatigue? It is suspected that fatigue is caused by
an accumulation of lactic acid, ADP, and P, in muscles. Another reason comes from
Calcium levels decreasing from muscle contractions.

The Importance Of The No Child Left Behind Act
CCSS became active in 2009 to improve the No Child Left Behind Act: A law
signed by President George W. Bush in 2001 to provide federal money to less
privileged schools. Money given was for extra educational assistance to improve
academic test scores to reach proficiency or above. The goal of the law is that all
students will score at the proficient level in reading and math by 2014 (Fairtest,
2008). It was mandatory to take a standardized testfor the school to report the
percentages of proficiency in different subject areas; included in the report was race,
income, disability, and gender. If a school failed to improve, then they are put under
the school improvement list. Once put on the list, the school may go through these...

There has been stress coming from students saying that they did not learn or
understand concepts on the test because it was not taught or elaborated enough in
school. There are different views on if the CCSS are effective or not.
Common Core State Standards are playing a role in current school reform and
education politics. Even though the CCSS has general achievements to have every
student be on track and prepared for college, each states are on different
requirements. We also found that teachers in different districts and states were
having very different experiences with the Common Core (Karp, 2013). All 50
states are on not on the same page on what type of education is best for their
students. For example, in Texas it is mandatory to learn about Texas History in
middle school, but other states are required to teach World History during that time.
There has been a lot of uncertainty of whether it is truly preparing students for college
and career readiness. It seems as though a lot of students are on different paces and
not on track with others around them. Common Core mathematics standards,
concluding that the Common Core leaves students one or two years behind the
National Mathematics Advisory (Ibid, 2014). Learning about math may not come
easy for some students. The content may be difficult to understand, but teachers are
expected to not waste time covering a topic and to move on to prepare for the
standardized test. The fast pace causes students to be

Now Arizona is not the typical state that has a lot of precipitation and rain yearly,
but it depends off other reservoirs, lakes, and rivers located in other states to for their
water supply. After searching and conducting research, it was found that the main
impact Arizona is suffering from the drought is decreasing water levels is from
Lake Mead (located in Nevada), and the Colorado River, which flows North to
South through several U.S. states. Research and data found shows that the Bureau
of Reclamation releases water into the Colorado River below Lake Mead to meet
water demands of downstream users in Arizona and California, and also to satisfy
treaty obligations to the Republic of Mexico. Findings by the Bureau of
Reclamation show that Lake Mead water level s peaked at 1,214.26 in January of
2000. Almost a decade and a half later, recorded in January 2014, the water levels
of Lake Mead are now 1,108.75 (Smith, 2014). This findings show that Arizona is
continually getting a decline in water from Lake Mead every month that passes,
affects thousands of residents living in Arizona, which already lacks water to begin
with. If this continues, this can cause many civilians to both stand by and bare the
drought as long as they can, or decide to move out of Arizona to states with a better
water supply, so they won t be burdened with the continual burden of having to ration
and conserve water. The state has

The Importance Of Public Surveillance
With the increase in public surveillance by governments and big coperations, there
has grown a need to combat it and its effects on society today. It s mainly a
question of privacy to everyone, can we really trust him, so what s Public
surveillance and automated face recognition? Public Surveillance is the monitoring
of conduct, exercises, or other changing data to influence, oversee, coordinate or
protect individuals. This can incorporate the use of Closed Circuit Television
(CCTV) or capturing of electronically transmitted data, for example, through phone
calls. Besides that, it s no longer a dusk to dawn activity but 24/7. Automated Face
Recognition can be best described as the use of specialised software to identify
individuals in digital images or videos using sophisticated algorithms that are linked
to databases. This kind of software is able to compare several facial features of a
person and uniquely identify them amongst a million others accurately.
In 2013, the act of public surveillance and automated face recognition by world
governments was raised after Edward Snowden exposed the global surveillance
documents. Revealing in view of archives Snowden spilled to different media
outlets set off an open deliberation about common freedoms and the privilege to
security in this Digital Age. So how is it carried out. As stated above surveillance is
mainly carried out by governments with the help of big coperations and security

Comparing News Networks In ABC, CNN, CBS, And Fox
The public get their news from networks such as ABC, CNN, MSNBC, CBS,
NBC, and Fox. One of the differences between all these networks is all of the
networks get fairly amount of viewers from which many of the most popular in the
country like to go from right or left. CNN, ABC, CBS, and NBC have audiences
that lean left while the audience on fox lean toward conservative. Another one is
the if these networks are being truthful or if what their telling the audience is fake.
A poll by Rasmussen declared that CNN is the least trusted news network on cable
television (Tapson 1). The poll also showed that Fox news was trusted at fifty
percent and MSNBC was trusted by forty three percent (Tapson 1). One network
will telling a viewer how a certain person may have done something bad while
another network will the do the same but later show evidence that the information
was false. The amount of information or evidence provided by these networks can

An Environmental Impact Assessment For The
Queensferry...
1.0Scope of Project
1.1 Background
An environmental impact assessment for the Queensferry Crossing Bridge has
been a topic of discussion for a while because of the concern about the future of the
Forth Road Bridge. The new cable stayed Queensferry Crossing bridge doesn t aim to
replace The Forth Road bridge but co exist parallel to it.
1.1.2Introduction to Project
In 2009, transport for Scotland submitted the Forth crossing bill , the scheme is
being taken forward in accordance with a policy memorandum. The queens ferry
crossing will be built instead of repairing the current forth road bridge. Repairing
the current bridge will take between 7 and 9 years, without an alternative crossing,
sustained disruption of traffic will have a significant effect. The queens ferry
crossing will provide two lanes in each direction, replacing road provisions for
general traffic, increased travel growth will need to be satisfied by public transport.
The estimated cost of the scheme is between ВЈ1.325 ВЈ1.35 billion. New technology
will be implemented for the queen s ferry crossing; it will be more climate resistant
than the current bridge. Key feature of the new bridge include:
Use of the latest, more durable materials
Cables that are easier to replace, replacement can be done during normal maintenance
work, the bridge doesn t get shut
dehumidification system inside the box girder, decrease corrosion damage
Modern paint systems decrease corrosion
Thicker road surfaces
Not All Textbooks Recall the Events of History the Same
Essay
Many people do not care for history due to the simple fact some of the readings in
the textbook are not all interesting or true. Not every textbook is the same, not
every textbook has accurate information, but most history classes require you to
read and learn everything from the textbooks. As you read this essay, you will learn
how a couple of different texts discusses the finding of Virginia and about the
Indians. Each of these texts are not written in the year so there will be some
discussion on the years each was written. Just remember, not all textbooks are the
same, in fact, most of them have different facts that may not be all accurate.
In 1927, David S. Muzzey wrote the first text History of the American People this text

In May, the establishment of Jamestown was founded. The men relied on the Indians
for food. The settlement suffered from the starving period without Powhatan s help.
The settlers held Pocahontas, Powhatan s daughter, hostage to gain the upper hand in
1613. While they held her captive, she agreed to convert to Christianity and marry
John Rolfe. (Norton)
In the first text, he talks about how the Indians pretty much saved the colonist from
death because they supplied the colonist with goods need for their first winter.
They were then attacked in 1622 by the colonist for the land to declare the
government. (Muzzey) Bailey doesn t give praise to the Indian s like Muzzey did
for saving the colonist. He discusses how the settlers find the new land and push the
Indians aside. The Spaniards were not as successful as the English settlers at killing
off the Indians. Many Indians died from the Indian Massacre, diseases, and
starvation. Due to Pocahontas marrying John Rolfe in 1613, the colonist started
peace with the Indians. (Bailey) For the third text, the author was a little more
specific with the Indian tribe name. The tribe was the Tsenacomoco, and their
weroance was Powhatan. Powhatan brother watched the colonist try to expand and
convert Indians to Christianity. The war leader set up attacks all along the James
River leading to 347 colonist dead on March 22, 1622. (Norton)
Traumatic Stress Disorder ( Ptsd )
PTSD Develops from Suicide Attempts
Attempted suicide is a highly emotional event. A large portion of the population has
to live with the after effects of their decision on attempting suicide. Even though the
general public doesn t realize, failed suicide attempts can often be as traumatic as
violent personal attacks that lead to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. According to the
Mayo Clinic, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is considered a triggered mental
health condition caused by either experiencing or witnessing a terrifying event. The
symptoms range from flashbacks, nightmares, uncontrollable thoughts, to severe
anxiety ( Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) ). This disorder corresponds with
things such as war trauma and abduction. While those traumas often cause PTSD,
failed suicide attempts can also be a stressor that leads to it.
Suicide attempts meet the requirements of a Criteria A stressor defined by the
Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM 5).
Anything that meets the requirements of a Criteria A stressor can lead to PTSD.
The official DSM 5 requirements of a Criteria A stressor is: The person was
exposed to: death, threatened death, actual or threatened serious injury, or actual or
threatened sexual violence, as follows: (one required) (1) Direct exposure... ( DSM 5
Criteria for PTSD ). Suicide is defined as a death caused by self directed injurious
behavior with an intent to die as a result of the behavior,
The European Union Essay
he European Union consists of many institutions and through these parts, it functions
itself. While it has a highly federalized government like framework (EU Parliament),
simultaneously, it also has loose intergovernmental institutions (Council of European
Union and the European Council). It is a complex hybrid organization, falling
somewhere between the intergovernmental cooperative United Nations, and the
federal government of United States of America. The chief constituting bodies are
namely,
1.European Commission
2.European Parliament

Besides these, there are nine other functioning institutions within the EU.
1.European Commission : Considered as the Guardian of the European Union , the
commission represents the interests of EU, is responsible for the day to day
operations of the EU, initiates legislations, draws budget, is accountable for the
goals set by the treaties and it can also begin conversations. With the help of the
ECJ, the Commission can also take warn and take proper steps against respective
states who have disobeyed the regulations, decisions or directives set by the EU. It
is said to be EU s politically independent executive arm . The members are 28 in
number, each from each member country, being headed by the President. The

Potential scenarios for Vietnam after the AEC s establishment.
Introduction
AEC is the term used of ASEAN Economic Community which is the community of
countries in Southeast Asia that planned to create one big market. This critical
review examines a final project with title A roadmap for the ASEANEconomic
Community (AEC) based on the EU model: Potential scenarios for Vietnamafter the

Summary
This section contains a summary of project A roadmap for ASEAN Economic
Community (AEC) based on the EU model: Potential scenarios for Vietnam after
AEC s establishment . Seeing the fast growing pace of ASEAN economy in the past
years, AEC is a crucial step for the further economic development in the region. With
the use of primary and secondary resources, this research project examines the clear
roadmap for the development of ASEAN Economic Community based on the
development of European Union model. Moreover, this research examines some
possible scenario for Vietnam and specific benefit that the members got from the
establishment of the community. By finding the potential scenario for Vietnam s
market position in AEC could help the Vietnamese government to boost the economic

Analysis Of Crane And American Manhood
Crane, as evidenced by his interest in the military, did not object to war, but rather,
Casey writes, to the previous generations monopoly of it and with that monopoly their
stranglehold over the cultural conceptions of American manhood (18). Civil War
veterans believed that the younger generation of men was both soft and ignorant of
the world s brutality, and since they had not been exposed to war, the young men
were considered to be less masculine. Casey explains the younger generation s
frustration with these beliefs, Men like Stephen Crane, who grew up long after the
war had ended, felt a sense of belatedness when confronted by veterans claims to
cultural superiority and uniqueness. To the younger generation these claims
suggested that true manhood was no longer available even though society argued
that it was necessary for full citizenship (2). The younger generation was given a
contradictory message that said they were supposed to have traditional masculine
qualities as part of society, yet, at the same time, they were denied the
acknowledgement of these qualities by the older generation of veterans. Casey
writes, Civil Warveterans, both in the novel and in the larger culture, seemed wholly
unwilling to relinquish their authority, thereby blocking the path to adult manhood
for the rising generation (4). Red Badge, then, contains Crane s representation of the
struggle for manhood between the younger generation and the aging Civil War
veterans in the
What Is The Purpose Of Illuminati
I believe the majority of you don t have knowledge about what illuminati stands for,
others might know what it symbolize but they ve never gone too deep into the
subject to really understand its purpose and how it works. I am going to start off by
introducing you all to the basic definition of illuminati.
Illuminati is a secret society of the world s most powerful and wealthiest citizens. Its
ultimate goal is to control the world and to build one big society full of Illuminists.
We are ruled by it, we are manipulated into believing what they want us to believe,
into voting who they want to be the next leader, into being what they want us to be.
Illuminati isn t just this group of loaded ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other (often more talented) musicians follow up on that trend and create their own
version of the new idea. Those musicians can be ordinary people like you and me,
who have never been close to Governmental Mind Control. Those musicians (and
actors) don t have to be severely mind controlled to unknowingly help out with the
Agenda of the Elite. They just jump on the same train and the snowball effect is
starting. Thus, the Illuminati, who started the trend, can sit back and watch. We, the
citizens, are doing the rest for them.
5. Other gifted musicians and actors, who are creating art that goes outside the
Agenda or against it have no chance to get their message out broadly, because
nobody at the top of the Industry (where the money is) is willing to promote them.
The International Bankers (The Illuminati) are the ones who own the Industry. As
soon as someone is creating something (may be music, a new label with contrary
ideas or something similar) that opposes what is next on the Agenda, the Illuminati
is quick to buy it out. If the Company refuses to sell, they are threatened. We all have

A Stakeholder Management Model For Ethical Decision
Making
It is important for a business to balance all the different stakeholders that a company
might have. Some stakeholders might have different priorities than others. For
example, some shareholders expect the business to give them only money while
others stakeholders need good working conditions. Also, investors might wish to see
proof that the company responds to environmental matters before promising money to
a business. In addition, problems might happen when stakeholders compromise to the
expectation of other stakeholders.
The difference priorities of stakeholders can come into place when organizations have
to come up with a decision, they have to decide which stakeholders should be
prioritized. When beginning the dialogue with a specific stakeholder group, the
management should explain from the beginning what the intended objectives of the
dialogue are.
Measure performance: the company should be able to tell how well its stakeholder
management processes are going which of course depends on what objectives the
firm has set for a specific stakeholder engagement process. ( a stakeholder
management model for ethical decision making|Simone de Colle Academia.edu ,

All-Ceramic Restorations in Dental Work
Superior aesthetics and biocompatibility of dental ceramics has driven the increasing
use of all ceramic restorations over the past decade (1). However, the brittleness and
low fracture strength of ceramics can initiate crack propagation causing fracture of
the restoration. Clinical studies have demonstrated that all ceramicdental restorations
have an increased resistance to fracturein service when adhesively cemented to the
prepared tooth structure with resin based composite cements (2). It is thought that the
cement interacts and penetrates ceramic surface defects, preventing crack
propagation. However, strengthening is dependent on sufficient resin cement
polymerisation via free radical photo polymerisation in response to blue light (450
500nm). Adequate polymerisation (DC) depends on appropriate light transmission
(LT) to the resin cement, which is affected by the opacity and the thickness of the
ceramic and the resin cement layer. Consequently, this will influence the mechanical
properties of the resin cement together with the strength and longevity of the
restoration (3, 4, 5). The aim of this current study is to analyse LT through ceramics
of different shade and thicknesses; measure and map DC; and correlate the results to
the degree of reinforcement achieved.

Wife Of Bath Quotes
In the Canterbury Tales, the character known as the Wife of Bath is described by
Chaucer as a very free living and courageous women. In the time of the Middle Ages,
compared to men, women had little to no rights in many different settings such as in
daily abor and especially in education. In fact, this unfairness lasted until 1920, where
the fight for Women s Suffrage was present. Although, unlike the women of the early
twentieth century, the Wifeof Bath simply didn t fight for rights, she just went along
with what she had. We can tell that Chaucer uses many details to describe the Wife of
Bath through her fortune, her interest in sexual activity, and her many journeys to
distant lands. At the time that Chaucer had written the Canterbury... Show more

For example, Chaucer states Easily on an ambling horse she sat (157 ln. 479).
This quote represents how easy it is for her to sit on a horse due to how she always
has her legs opened. Back during the MIddle Ages, it was uncommon for a women
to just go around and sleep with any random man she feels like. In fact, we can even
see how the Friar from the Canterbury Tales would find men for the women that he
previously impregnated so they would not be banished from their family. This is
because the perspective family would think of their daughters as someone who
gives her body away to just anyone. Her desire of sexual activity could even be the
reason as the why she is being satirized so much by Chaucer. This could be because
she is unlike the average girl from the Medieval time period. Usually, the standard
women would only settle down with a male if she knew he was the one or more
importantly, it was previously arranged by the two families. Another prime example
could be from the Miller s Tale. This is where the scholar decides to greet the wife of
John with much attention, despite him previously knowing that she is already

have done something like that, only a woman like the Wife of
The Importance Of Typology In Christianity
Christianity has been from the beginning a typological religion. Typology in
Christian theology and Biblical exegesis is a doctrine or theory concerning the
relationship between the Old and New Testaments . (Merriam Webster 868) Perhaps
the single most important concept for understanding early Christianity is typology.
Typology is a form of study of literature identifying symbols especially in the Bible.
This system of groupings, usually called types, the members of which are identified
by postulating specified attributes that are mutually exclusive and collectively
exhaustive groupings set up to aid demonstration or inquiry by establishing a limited
relationship among phenomena. Typology is interpreted throughout text in American
literature such as William Bradford s Plymouth Plantation, Jonathan Edward s
Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God and Thomas PaineCommon Sense. During the
Enlightenment, the meaning of Protestant identity became increasingly vague;
typology took on the hazy significance of image and symbol; what passed for the
divine plan had lost its strict grounding sculpture; providence itself was shaken loose
from its religious frame work to became part of the belief in the human progress. The
eighteenth century clergy took advantage of this movement to shift the focus of
figural authority, from Bible history to the American experience. In effect, they
substituted a regional for a biblical past, sanctified the American present as a
movement from promise to

Comparing Gone Girl And Daddy
In Gone Girl and Daddy , both authors explore the idea that one can never truly be
free, and that even once freedom is believed to be gained; one is still not
completely free. Although the idea in Plath and Fincher s texts are similar, there
are some clear differences in their portrayal. While Fincher creates his film with a
cyclic nature to illustrate how Nick is unable to be free from his relationship, Plath
uses holocaust allusion to emphasise how the speaker of her poem Daddy felt
trapped by her father s looming figure, just as the Jews were by Hitler. Fincher
begins his film with Nick stroking his wife s (Amy) hair, and questioning what she is
thinking, and concludes the film in the same way, even after Nick s constant struggle
throughout the film to escape the failing marriage; alluding to Nick s inability to
escape. Plath s reference to her father as a panzer man with his Aryan looks and his
Luftwaffe brutality forces the reader to understand the extent in which she is
trapped by her father, consequently minimising the shock when the speaker of Plath
s poem uses mythical imagery to refer to the model of [her father] that she married
in an attempt to be from the restraints of her father. Plath s use of mythical imagery
to illustrate her partner is used in a similar way to how Fincher used [metatext
/intertextuality/text within a text??] to portray Nick s inability to escape from his
marriage to Amy. After the speaker in Plath s poem Daddy escapes her father, she
is still unable to be free from him, as she ends up creating a substitute for him by
marrying a man who drank [her] blood for a year , the vampire allusion a metaphor
for him draining her life and her freedom, in the way a vampire would literally
drain the blood of their victim. This inability to escape due to marriage is also
strongly reflected in Fincher s Gone Girl . Unlike Plath, Fincher employs the use
of a [text within a text?] to portray how the protagonist, Nick, is unable to be free
from his relationship with Amy. Amazing Amy Gets Married is a children s book
that is written by Amy s parents, which results in pressure being placed on Nick to
quickly marry her, so that Amazing Amy is no longer one step ahead from the

Chicken Little Critical Analysis
Sula and Nel s home environments negatively influence the way they handle the

follows them through adulthood. When the girls realize Chicken Little is not
going to resurface from the river, Nel s first words are somebody saw (Morrison

other people will think, reminiscent of the attitude of her mother. The girls,
particularly Nel, are concerned more about what others will say and do than the
moral and ethical enormity of their actions. They resolve to tell no one and ignore
the death rather than find a true solution, which is an immature approach Sula and
Nel continue for future conflicts. Willful ignorance and passivity are a destructive
approach characters use in the face of a frightening idea. Due to their betrayal,
distrust, and miscommunication, Sula and Nel fail to set themselves apart from
their origins and lose balance in their lives. The downfall of their irreplaceable
friendship is foreshadowed in the year of 1927, when, in the effort to please her
family and friends, Nel loses a bit of her autonomy. Fulfilling her mother s dreams,
Nel and Jude agree to get married so the two of them together would make one Jude,
illustrating Nel s secondary role in the marriage and by extension her life (Morrison

Describe The Difference Between Right Atrium And Right...
The heart is made up of four chambers, two atriums and two ventricles. The right
side of the heart receives deoxygenated blood and pumps the blood to the lungs,
whereas the left side of the heart receives the oxygenated blood from the lungs and
pumps it to the rest of the body.
The right side of the heart consists of the right atrium and right ventricle. The right
atrium receives the deoxygenated blood via the vena cava (both the inferior and
superior) from the rest of the body. The blood then travels through the tricuspid valve
into the right ventricle where it then gets pumped to the lungs, where gas exchange
can occur. The chambers on the left side of the heart are the left ventricle and atrium.
The left atrium receives the oxygenated blood from the lungs via the pulmonary vein.
It is then pumped through the atrioventricular valve into the left ventricle, where it is
pumped through the aorta and to the rest of the body. One adaptation of the heart is
the thickness of the walls. The ventricles have thicker walls than the atria as blood
gets pumped out with higher pressures. The left ventricle is even thicker as it must

The contraction, known as systole, pumps blood out of the heart. The relaxion phase,
diastole, is when the heart muscles relax, and fill will blood. These cause the
stereotypical heart sounds, lub and dub . The lub occurs when the atrioventricular
valves close, and the dub when the semilunar valves close.
An athletes heart has some slight adaptations that make it more efficient. In response
to endurance training, both the right and left ventricles expanded. For strength
athletes, the muscle of the heart thickened, but only for the left ventricle. These
adaptations cause the heart to pump blood more effectively as the myocardial
contractions are more forceful, and the filling and ejection of blood from the heart

Health Care Access and Disparities within the Appalachian Region (NIH, 2002
2006) Health disparities are defined as differences in the incidence, prevalence,
mortality, and burden of diseases and other adverse health conditions that exist

ability of a person to receive health care services as a function of access to medical

Even with some improvements in the region, Appalachia continues to linger

socioeconomic factors stand out when evaluating health disparity among mortality

prevalence of obesity, smoking, lack of exercise and poor use of cancer screenings

Jenny, kinda crazy. What broke me off was her long towards commitment she had.
I don t like commitment, commitment means being trapped and being trapped
means no freedom. Commitment for me, is a big no no. As the bartender slid me
another drink someone stopped me in my tracks. It was a girl, she had short jean
shorts and a KISS top on, she looked around the age of 22, which was fine by me
considering I ll be 23 in November. She had long blonde hair that swayed as she
walked. She looked around the bar trying to find a seat and noticed the empty one
next to me, she sat down and pulled out
A Comparison Of Disney World And Adventureland
Compare Contrast Paper Mateah Reisdorf As everyone always says, Disney World
is the happiest place on earth, but for Iowans we have Adventureland, where we
are sure to have a fun filled day. To us Iowans , Disney World and Adventure are
the two best theme parks we ve ever known of! Both theme parks are full of
happiness, good food and exciting rides, although Disney World and Adventureland
have lots of differences and yet some similarities in hand. In this paper I am going
to explain and list off the vast similarities and differences of Disney World and
Adventureland! To start off, one major similarity is both Disney World and
Adventureland have specific characters that build the atmosphere of their theme
parks. For example, Disney World has; Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald
and Daisy Duck, Cinderella, Snow White, Belle and many more beloved Disney
characters! As for Adventureland has a well known character, the Saint Bernard dog.
All the characters that live in their theme park attract children s attention very easily.
Children are quick to recognize Disney Worlds characters from TV shows they have
watched on Disney Channel. The Saint Bernard at Adventureland is a welcoming,
fun character to Adventureland, which attracts thousands of tourists. Both theme
park s characters endow the same qualities and draw vast amounts of tourist to both
of their theme parks! Also, having enough money to visit Disney World or
Adventureland is a major necessity in order to
Reflection Of Luke And Acts
Written in approximately 63 AD, the Gospel of Luke teaches many lessons that are
still applicable today. Luke, who is also the suspected author of Acts, was an
eyewitness to many of Jesus s miraculous works. Both Luke and Acts are addressed
to a man named Theophilus, which means lover of God. Luke wanted Theophilus to
have certainty in the truth of Christ, so Luke gave him an account from a trustworthy
author. In Luke 18:6 8, Jesusencourages the disciples to pray faithfully and
ceaselessly. Verses 9 14 describe Jesus s story about two men, one a tax collector and
one a Pharisee, praying in the temple. Speaking to the Pharisees, he told this parable
because they trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and treated others
with contempt. (English Standard Version Lk. 18:9) Through this parable, the tax
collector exemplified humility in a situation that the Pharisees could relate to.
Two men went into the temple to pray. One, a Pharisee, valued his appearance and
works, believing his works would gain him favor in God s eyes. When the Pharisee
prayed, he emphasized the fact that he was better than other people, mentioning his
bi weekly fasts and faithful tithing practices. He even pointed out the tax collector
as being especially unrighteous. Contrarily, the tax collector approached God in
humility. He understood his own inability to save himself. He recognized that he
was unworthy to even speak to the perfectly holy, supreme God. Unwilling to even
look to heaven, he beat his chest in agony and cried out to God one simple yet
striking request: God, be merciful to me, a sinner! (Lk. 18:13) Although both men
prayed to God, only the tax collector received justification. Jesus wanted to
demonstrate that if someone exalts himself, he will be humbled, but if someone
humbles himself, he will be exalted. People display the humility that originates in
their hearts through their thoughts and actions, just as the men revealed their values
through prayer. The Pharisee s prayer was concerned with telling God what a good
man he was, for not only did he keep the Law by fasting and tithing, but also he
considered himself better than other people (v. 11). He was using other people as his
standard for
Comparing Thomas Hobbes And John Locke s State Of
Nature
Hobbes and Locke have very different ideas on property, which is a result of their
views on the state of nature. In Hobbes state of nature, no one owns property but
rather they live and maintain whatever land they are capable of. This is because
Hobbes state of nature is under the mindset that every man is for himself and
against all other men. These ideas are what leads Hobbes state of nature to be
described as solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short (Hobbes). On the other hand,
Locke s state of nature is not the everyday war of Hobbes , but rather a place where
everyone was to get along and respect the rights of others. In Locke s state of nature
it is possible to own property and it was quite easy to do so. Therefore, the difference

Property was able to be acquired in Locke s state of nature because he believed that
people were their own property and were able to acquire more property by
applying labor into common resources. For example, if a man was to find a piece
of land that was unclaimed, he could build a house on it and it would become his
property. Unclaimed land being so easily claimed as property is important to
Locke as he believed that cultivated land is more valuable than unused land,
especially once people are in society. Hobbes believed that people leave the state of
nature to join a society to preserve himself, his liberty, and property, which are
rights that Locke believed people were born with. Those rights are how the idea of
exchanging property came about. Instead of every man supplying everything they
need, in a society they would be able to exchange property amongst the other
(Locke). For example, a farmer could trade corn for wool, now the farmer is no
longer dependent on just himself and his property. Exchanging property was also a
good motivator for the people of the society has profit could be made from these
exchanges. Locke also believed it was the right of the individual to own their
property without worrying about the government. The government was not able to
take over someone s property without their consent, but they were allowed to place a
taxation over property only if it was necessary to preserve the government. Hobbes
believed that individuals had the right to own property whether it be physical goods
or land and that these rights existed in the state of nature and in society, under a
government where the government s purpose was to further protect the individuals
Socio Cultural Determinant
The socio cultural determinant that is associated with the impact of groups at risk
of cardiovascular disease (CVD) are media factors. Media impacts a person s
views and opinions of certain subjects, such as groups associated with smoking. The
media influences the smokers by educating them about the dangerous effects of it,
therefore leading to a decrease in smoking and then leads to a decrease in the trend
for cardiovascular disease rates, as the people who view the commercials understand
the effects of the activity. The socioeconomic determinant that is associated with the
impact of groups at risk of CVD is income. Income effects those who are unable to
have the pleasure to spend on health products and services, due to their socioeconomic

TERM III Assignment 2 PR No: 150101619192
Date: 15 Aug 2016 Submitted by: F. B. Vimal Anand Franklin
Q1. Explain service blue printing and how it helps in service design.
Service Blueprinting is a method within the Service Engineering process that
enables the user to have a framework for viewing service improvement. It is a
visual tool that helps one see the experience a customer has with the service from a
holistic viewpoint. It gives not just the end to end view of the experience, but also
exposes the behind the scenes work that shows how the experience is designed and
more importantly how it was delivered.
The process of building a service blue print involves the below steps:
1. The identification of the service process, that is supposed to be blueprinted
2. The identification of the customer segment / customers who are supposed to
experience the service
3. Picturing the service from the customer s perspective
4. Picturing the actions of the contact employee (onstage and backstage), and/or
technology actions
5. Linking the contact activities to the needed support functions
6. Adding the evidence of service for every customer action step Blueprinting a
service helps to display the real moments of the service provision and provides a
better understanding of the process and service success factors. The drill down
approach starting from the customer action to kick off the service delivery process,

Conversion of Alcohol to Alkyl Halides
Introduction In this experiment, Conversion of Alcohol to Alkyl Halides and
alcohol is converted to an alkyl halide through SN1 or an SN2 mechanism. This is
done by using 1 propanol and 2 pentantol with HBr, Hydrobromic acid. Only half of
the groups will use 1 propanol, and 2 pentantol. All results are analyzed using NMR
and IR. An SN1 reaction, requires two steps. The first step, using an alcohol as an
reactant, is the pronation of the OH group from the R group. This produces a cation
intermediate. The cation intermediate is attacked by the Br group, from HBr. This is
the second step. An SN2 mechanism, is only one step, unimolecular , and
spontaneous. In an alcohol, the Br group will attack at the water, H2O, is leaving the
reaction. The R group attacks to the Bromine leaving an excess water. Figure 1
Mechanism for 2 Pentantol SN1
Figure 2 2 Pentantol SN2 Mechanism Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, NMR, and
Infrared, IR, Spectroscopy are used to determine the structure of unknown
compounds. Nuclear Magnetic Resonance allows the student to see the nuclei in a
molecule by the usage of light (1). The spectrum shows how carbon can form a
number of different bonds hydrogens present in the molecule, double and single. IR
spectroscopy gives an idea of the frequency of the molecules through the vibrations
of the molecules. Infrared shows how molecules can perform like springs which
connects with Hooke s Law. Hooke s Law is used to describe the vibrations of springs.

Choose One Of The Four Mythical Archetypes
1. What are myths? What evidence points us to the universality of myths? Myths
are usually stories that have to do with how some things came to be, such as
religions or even to why the tiger has stripes on it body, instead of saying it s there
because it can be. Myths give a more detailed and more visionary and stronger
purpose to some small things in our world.
2. What is an archetype? An archetype is something or a figure that typically explains
a person or thing.
3. What are the four mythical archetypes? Write at least one paragraph describing
each archetype. The four mythical archetypes are, the queen of sheba, which is based
on a woman who was wise and had a cloven foot, such as a goat who was tricked by a
king in order to marry her and bare a child, the second is, Shangri la which is based
on a place were monks and people of peace lived in harmony ready to spread the
peace and save people who would come of need, then there is king arthur who was
once a curious young boy, who pulled a sword out of a rock to then be proven
worthy of high king.then there is the story of jason, which was about a boy named

Read through the four myths discussed. Choose one of the myths and retell in the
myth in your own words. The queen of sheba was a very interesting queen, who had
a foot that was cloven, such as a goat. So he wanted to see for himself. He polished
his floors till they were like glass and as the queen of sheba walked across it he could
see the reflection of her foot, that was as told.
5. Using the myth that you just retold, what archetypes exist in the myth? How does
the myth compare and contrast to other myths with these archetypes? In this myth
one of the archetypes was the foot of the queen of sheba. It resembled her because
it was her foot that was shaped as so. The way that this myth is similar to others, is
the way they add how the queen had a foot of a goat which would be pretty
impossible. Many myths have some type of fantasy feature in

Olympus Station
Olympus Station Somewhere between Earth and Mars Six years ago...
So what s the deal, Cap? You not gonna unwind a little bit while we re here? Wyatt
McKenzie looked at his young navigator and smiled slightly. At six one, he stood
considerably taller. I d just rather read a book and catch up on some sleep, Gavin.
Read a book? The young ensign shook his head. The flight terminal of the space
station was packed with humans and more. Gavin Teague was barely in his
twenties and had a headful of wavy black hair, unlike the bald McKenzie. His eyes
scanned the crowds of people excitedly. We ve been cooped up on that ship for
nearly two weeks, Cap. The crew needs a chance to unwind more than the passengers
do. Even you.
We re schedule to return to Earth in three days, Wyatt reminded him.
Gavin followed his captain onto the tram platform and looked down the magnetic
tracks to look for their transport. With all due respect, sir, that s three days from
now. There s a lot of fun to be had between now and then. Another three hundred
passengers making their way back home from here, Mars and beyond. We have
plenty of work to do making sure the Agamemnon is shape before we do. Wyatt
reminded him and he saw the young man s shoulder slump in defeat. Relax. That
doesn t mean you don t deserve a break. It just means I m too old to join you. Go
have some fun. Meet me at the hotel tomorrow

Essay On The Scientific Method.pdf

  • 1. Essay On The Scientific Method Crafting an essay on the scientific method can be both challenging and intellectually stimulating. The scientific method is a systematic approach to inquiry that demands precision, logical reasoning, and a keen understanding of various scientific principles. The difficulty lies in not only comprehending the intricate steps of the scientific method but also in effectively communicating these concepts to a diverse audience. One must navigate through the complexities of observation, hypothesis formulation, experimentation, data analysis, and drawing conclusions. The challenge is to strike a balance between providing enough depth for those familiar with scientific procedures and ensuring clarity for those new to the subject. Additionally, the essay should not merely serve as a regurgitation of facts but should engage the reader with a thoughtful analysis of the method's significance in the scientific community and its impact on our understanding of the world. Furthermore, there is the task of avoiding excessive jargon that might alienate readers unfamiliar with scientific terminology. Balancing technical accuracy with accessibility requires a careful selection of language and the ability to translate complex concepts into layman's terms without oversimplifying. Researching the historical context, notable figures, and the evolution of the scientific method adds an extra layer of complexity. An in-depth exploration of the topic requires delving into the philosophy of science, the role of skepticism, and the interplay between theory and experimentation. In conclusion, writing an essay on the scientific method demands a nuanced approach, blending scientific rigor with effective communication. It is an exercise in intellectual dexterity, requiring the author to convey the intricacies of the method while ensuring accessibility to a broad audience. For those seeking assistance with similar essays or any other writing tasks, various resources are available, such as HelpWriting.net, where you can find professional help to guide you through the intricacies of academic writing. Alexandria During The Hellenistic Age Alexandria became a very dominant and important royal capital during the Hellenistic age, located on the edge of Egypt, Alexandria was able to advance medically in various ways. The city was an exceptional place to learn, teach and research medicine during its Hellenistic age time period. The advancement in science and math, the geographical location, and the people of Alexandriaall contributed to reaching the peak of medical breakthroughs. In order to support my claim on why Alexandria was a place to further advance in medicine I will be using three ancient sources from Michael Austin s book The Hellenistic world from Alexander to the Roman conquest as well as scholarly views on the benefits and oppositions Alexandria had towards medical advancement. Luce, he was able to show how Alexandria was looked upon as a city of great potential, with philosophers, museums, a prospering city that grew to be monumental. Luce further describes how science was looked upon for its benefiting factors that could contribute towards medicine and how many rulers of Alexandria greatly supported the science and math fields as much as too fund it with money and resources. Alexandria has been looked at positively for its advancement in medicine and a major part of its advancement was its knowledge through science and math. Alexandria is a place to learn about medicine because they have knowledge on how to get from one step of the process to another. In order then to greatly benefit from medicine that have to learn how to become medically advanced and through science and math they were able to do that with time. An example on how science and math techniques became well known in Alexandria one of them being by Archimedes who discovered hydrostatics and the deployment of measuring methods that lead him to greatly contribute to Alexandria (Luce, 28). Archimedes himself was able to contribute

External conflict is when a character struggles with another character or outside force. In the movie The Dark Knight, Batman constantly has both internal and external struggles. From the beautiful gardens of roses to the white tops of the mountains, each piece being unique. Venturing out into the world and seeing these remarkable places takes time and patience. Every aspect of our lives takes time out of it each day. Be it the blunt and direct boss at work or the shy, passive Girl Scout selling cookies each of these encounters takes timeto attend to and appreciate. Each person we encounter has a place in time. Every so often these events may make someone feel that maybe they have been here before or they know something about this moment but they are just not sure what. Maybe it is the feeling of DГ©jГ vu or maybe it is just them passing by their other life . To know the answer to this they will just have to live their lives and see where it takes them through their travels. Alan Lightman s Einstein s Dreams focuses on the twenty six year old genius, Albert Einstein, who has some unique dreams while discovering his theory of time and relativity. Napoleon seemed to have been seen as a man chosen and destined by god to find victory, though in reality he was a workaholic, and spent long nights carefully drafting his plans for battle. He was careful to maximize his manpower where it counted most. That said, Napoleon saw a value in remaining unpredictable, always maintaining an aggressive stance to force his opponent to respond to his moves. He often determined that the moment was more important than manpower. Often, after maneuvering for some time, Napoleon would order his men to charge towards the enemy s approximate location. Sometimes he himself recalls that the approximation was weak, but it was more important to move quickly and definitely, than to wait for complete intelligence to reveal the true nature of the enemy s whereabouts. Napoleon did not hold many rules on his troops when on the march, only that they move at a steady pace and stay close together so that they could get into formation quickly. Ultimately, it is clear that Napoleon had a natural gift for choosing the right moves, and furthermore seemed to be at his best when under the pressure of an intense battle, while the commanders of other armies tended to mishap. Napoleon is widely considerred a military genius, and by his very own definition this requires an above superior

As I said before, he is known as Vlad the Impaler (in Romanian is Vlad Tepes) and this has an explanation. He liked killing and torturing people in artistic ways and one of this, and the most known, is the impaling of people. He liked to killed enemies by inserting a long stick made of wooden or metal through his enemies bodies (the pole usually was inserted on the sexual organs and it would come out through the neck or the mouth). He also tried to prolong this suffering on the victims for hours, maybe days, just for his pleasure. Some of the atrocities he committed was when he celebrated a party where lot of boyars were invited, and he made them all being impaled with stakes. With the impaled bodies, he made rows (in an artistic way) and this is known as the Forest of the Impaled. It is known that he liked to take dinner in the middle of the forest of impaled people to see them suffering until their death. It is a mystery, but it is a story that has been told, that he like to drink the blood of his victims. However, this has not been

To convey such emotion in prose or poetry, the arrangement of words means everything and must be exact, for emotional impact on the reader. Thus, even poetry and prose by the same author can end up with different word choices and narratives, in order to convey longing as an emotion. This paper will analyse Cat in the Rain (Ernest Hemingway) where a woman s desire for a cat shows her longing for certain things in life; and Killed Paive (Ernest Hemingway) a narration about lost feelings between the narrator and the addressed person. Where the narrator in Cat in the Rain keeps a distance from the character and allows variation in interpretation for the reader, the narrator in Killed Paive is the protagonist, who includes the reader in the narrative through the usage of you . Thus, the two narrators not only approach the reader in two different ways through the tenor, the narrators also have different viewpoints overall. Cat in the Rain displayed the causes of the characters behaviour, mainly the American wife, Killed Paive displayed the inner thought of the protagonist, excluding the causes. Meaning Killed Paive attempted to generate an emotional reaction upon the reader, through its word choice in the description of the feeling longing in the narrator. In contrast, the narrator in Cat in the Rain focused on the setting, whilst the words said by the characters display the influence longing has on their emotions. Where the two texts have similarities are in addition to the topic of longing, is the usage of metonymy. Both texts chose to use an entity which projected the feelings felt by the protagonist. Where Cat in the Rain used the cat as a literal physical entity, expressing the inner feelings of the American wife, Killed Paive chose soul. Though the soul is not a physical entity, it nevertheless, functions as the reflection of the emotional turmoil felt by the

Research and data found shows that the Bureau of Reclamation releases water into the Colorado River below Lake Mead to meet water demands of downstream users in Arizona and California, and also to satisfy treaty obligations to the Republic of Mexico. Findings by the Bureau of Reclamation show that Lake Mead water level s peaked at 1,214.26 in January of 2000. Civil War veterans believed that the younger generation of men was both soft and ignorant of the world s brutality, and since they had not been exposed to war, the young men were considered to be less masculine. Casey explains the younger generation s frustration with these beliefs, Men like Stephen Crane, who grew up long after the war had ended, felt a sense of belatedness when confronted by veterans claims to cultural superiority and uniqueness. To the younger generation these claims suggested that true manhood was no longer available even though society argued that it was necessary for full citizenship (2). The younger generation was given a contradictory message that said they were supposed to have traditional masculine qualities as part of society, yet, at the same time, they were denied the acknowledgement of these qualities by the older generation of veterans. Casey writes, Civil Warveterans, both in the novel and in the larger culture, seemed wholly unwilling to relinquish their authority, thereby blocking the path to adult manhood for the rising generation (4). However, the brittleness and low fracture strength of ceramics can initiate crack propagation causing fracture of the restoration. Clinical studies have demonstrated that all ceramicdental restorations have an increased resistance to fracturein service when adhesively cemented to the prepared tooth structure with resin based composite cements (2). It is thought that the cement interacts and penetrates ceramic surface defects, preventing crack propagation. However, strengthening is dependent on sufficient resin cement polymerisation via free radical photo polymerisation in response to blue light (450 500nm). Adequate polymerisation (DC) depends on appropriate light transmission (LT) to the resin cement, which is affected by the opacity and the thickness of the ceramic and the resin cement layer. Consequently, this will influence the mechanical properties of the resin cement together with the strength and longevity of the restoration (3, 4, 5). The aim of this current study is to analyse LT through ceramics of different shade and thicknesses; measure and map DC; and correlate the results to the degree of reinforcement achieved. Typology in Christian theology and Biblical exegesis is a doctrine or theory concerning the relationship between the Old and New Testaments . (Merriam Webster 868) Perhaps the single most important concept for understanding early Christianity is typology. Typology is a form of study of literature identifying symbols especially in the Bible. This system of groupings, usually called types, the members of which are identified by postulating specified attributes that are mutually exclusive and collectively exhaustive groupings set up to aid demonstration or inquiry by establishing a limited relationship among phenomena. Typology is interpreted throughout text in American literature such as William Bradford s Plymouth Plantation, Jonathan Edward s Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God and Thomas PaineCommon Sense. During the Enlightenment, the meaning of Protestant identity became increasingly vague; typology took on the hazy significance of image and symbol; what passed for the divine plan had lost its strict grounding sculpture; providence itself was shaken loose from its religious frame work to became part of the belief in the human progress. The eighteenth century clergy took advantage of this movement to shift the focus of figural authority, from Bible history to the American experience. In effect, they substituted a regional for a biblical past, sanctified the American present as a movement from promise to

Comparing Gone Girl And Daddy In Gone Girl and Daddy , both authors explore the idea that one can never truly be free, and that even once freedom is believed to be gained; one is still not completely free. Although the idea in Plath and Fincher s texts are similar, there are some clear differences in their portrayal. While Fincher creates his film with a cyclic nature to illustrate how Nick is unable to be free from his relationship, Plath uses holocaust allusion to emphasise how the speaker of her poem Daddy felt trapped by her father s looming figure, just as the Jews were by Hitler. Fincher begins his film with Nick stroking his wife s (Amy) hair, and questioning what she is thinking, and concludes the film in the same way, even after Nick s constant struggle throughout the film to escape the failing marriage; alluding to Nick s inability to escape. Plath s reference to her father as a panzer man with his Aryan looks and his Luftwaffe brutality forces the reader to understand the extent in which she is trapped by her father, consequently minimising the shock when the speaker of Plath s poem uses mythical imagery to refer to the model of [her father] that she married in an attempt to be from the restraints of her father. The right side of the heart consists of the right atrium and right ventricle. Borak, Salipante Zaidel, Slade Fields (2012) state the following Education is also strongly linked with health status; limited education is regarded as a precursor to poor health ...In general, the counties with lowest educational attainment were concentrated in central Appalachia, especially in the mining regions, where health status is generally worst. Even with some improvements in the region, Appalachia continues to linger below the U.S. average. (Halverson Bischak, 2008) Suggests that two socioeconomic factors stand out when evaluating health disparity among mortality rates and those are poverty levels and the percentage of persons who do not have health insurance coverage. Behavioral risk factors in the region have a higher prevalence of obesity, smoking, lack of exercise and poor use of cancer screenings available than the U.S. national average. Again, the central subregion of Appalachia is among the most affected as this area tends to be more geographically rural. Nutrition is a major issue and low income levels often dictate poor food choices. Some areas may have only one small grocer with limited selections available. Exercise becomes more difficult for people who become obese, which often leads
  • 40. The Ice Of Old Vodka Bottles As I took another drink from my glass, I glanced at the bartender another look assuming he knew what I wanted. The bar was old. You would look over the counter and see dust covering old vodka bottles. I hate this bar. It was just another Friday I have wasted. The bar was sticky with liquor, the stools were squeaky with every move. For a barsmelling like booze and vomit, it was cramped on a Friday night. This wasn t my first breakup, I ve had many before. There was Jenny. She was protective, always checking my phone thinking there was always another, she ended that one. There was also Ashley. She was sweet, maybe too sweet. She was always wanting to do something for me whether it was buying me a golden watch or love, it was always something. I quickly ended that relationship. Besides those girls there was much more, currently it s Amy. Like Ashley she was nice, but like Jenny, kinda crazy. What broke me off was her long towards commitment she had. I don t like commitment, commitment means being trapped and being trapped means no freedom. Commitment for me, is a big no no. As the bartender slid me another drink someone stopped me in my tracks. It was a girl, she had short jean shorts and a KISS top on, she looked around the age of 22, which was fine by me considering I ll be 23 in November. She had long blonde hair that swayed as she walked. She looked around the bar trying to find a seat and noticed the empty one next to me, she sat down and pulled out

  • 42. Reflection Of Luke And Acts Written in approximately 63 AD, the Gospel of Luke teaches many lessons that are still applicable today. Luke, who is also the suspected author of Acts, was an eyewitness to many of Jesus s miraculous works. Both Luke and Acts are addressed to a man named Theophilus, which means lover of God. Luke wanted Theophilus to have certainty in the truth of Christ, so Luke gave him an account from a trustworthy author. In Luke 18:6 8, Jesusencourages the disciples to pray faithfully and ceaselessly. Verses 9 14 describe Jesus s story about two men, one a tax collector and one a Pharisee, praying in the temple. Speaking to the Pharisees, he told this parable because they trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and treated others with contempt. (English Standard Version Lk. 18:9) Through this parable, the tax collector exemplified humility in a situation that the Pharisees could relate to. Two men went into the temple to pray. One, a Pharisee, valued his appearance and works, believing his works would gain him favor in God s eyes. When the Pharisee prayed, he emphasized the fact that he was better than other people, mentioning his bi weekly fasts and faithful tithing practices. He even pointed out the tax collector as being especially unrighteous. Contrarily, the tax collector approached God in humility. He understood his own inability to save himself. He recognized that he was unworthy to even speak to the perfectly holy, supreme God. Unwilling to even look to heaven, he beat his chest in agony and cried out to God one simple yet striking request: God, be merciful to me, a sinner! (Lk. 18:13) Although both men prayed to God, only the tax collector received justification. Jesus wanted to demonstrate that if someone exalts himself, he will be humbled, but if someone humbles himself, he will be exalted. People display the humility that originates in their hearts through their thoughts and actions, just as the men revealed their values through prayer. The Pharisee s prayer was concerned with telling God what a good man he was, for not only did he keep the Law by fasting and tithing, but also he considered himself better than other people (v. 11). He was using other people as his standard for
  • 43. Comparing Thomas Hobbes And John Locke s State Of Nature Hobbes and Locke have very different ideas on property, which is a result of their views on the state of nature. In Hobbes state of nature, no one owns property but rather they live and maintain whatever land they are capable of. This is because Hobbes state of nature is under the mindset that every man is for himself and against all other men. These ideas are what leads Hobbes state of nature to be described as solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short (Hobbes). On the other hand, Locke s state of nature is not the everyday war of Hobbes , but rather a place where everyone was to get along and respect the rights of others. In Locke s state of nature it is possible to own property and it was quite easy to do so. Therefore, the difference ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Property was able to be acquired in Locke s state of nature because he believed that people were their own property and were able to acquire more property by applying labor into common resources. For example, if a man was to find a piece of land that was unclaimed, he could build a house on it and it would become his property. Unclaimed land being so easily claimed as property is important to Locke as he believed that cultivated land is more valuable than unused land, especially once people are in society. Hobbes believed that people leave the state of nature to join a society to preserve himself, his liberty, and property, which are rights that Locke believed people were born with. Those rights are how the idea of exchanging property came about. Instead of every man supplying everything they need, in a society they would be able to exchange property amongst the other (Locke). For example, a farmer could trade corn for wool, now the farmer is no longer dependent on just himself and his property. Exchanging property was also a good motivator for the people of the society has profit could be made from these exchanges. Locke also believed it was the right of the individual to own their property without worrying about the government. The government was not able to take over someone s property without their consent, but they were allowed to place a taxation over property only if it was necessary to preserve the government. Hobbes believed that individuals had the right to own property whether it be physical goods or land and that these rights existed in the state of nature and in society, under a government where the government s purpose was to further protect the individuals

Media impacts a person s views and opinions of certain subjects, such as groups associated with smoking. The media influences the smokers by educating them about the dangerous effects of it, therefore leading to a decrease in smoking and then leads to a decrease in the trend for cardiovascular disease rates, as the people who view the commercials understand the effects of the activity. The socioeconomic determinant that is associated with the impact of groups at risk of CVD is income. Income effects those who are unable to have the pleasure to spend on health products and services, due to their socioeconomic

OM Assignment2 Vimal Franklin | 1 MGT410 Operations Management TERM III Assignment 2 PR No: 150101619192 Date: 15 Aug 2016 Submitted by: F. B. Vimal Anand Franklin Q1. Explain service blue printing and how it helps in service design. Service Blueprinting is a method within the Service Engineering process that enables the user to have a framework for viewing service improvement. It is a visual tool that helps one see the experience a customer has with the service from a holistic viewpoint. It gives not just the end to end view of the experience, but also exposes the behind the scenes work that shows how the experience is designed and more importantly how it was delivered. The process of building a service blue print involves the below steps: 1. The identification of the service process, that is supposed to be blueprinted 2. The identification of the customer segment / customers who are supposed to experience the service 3. Picturing the service from the customer s perspective 4. Picturing the actions of the contact employee (onstage and backstage), and/or technology actions 5. Linking the contact activities to the needed support functions 6. Adding the evidence of service for every customer action step Blueprinting a service helps to display the real moments of the service provision and provides a better understanding of the process and service success factors. The drill down approach starting from the customer action to kick off the service delivery process, front
  • 46. Conversion of Alcohol to Alkyl Halides Introduction In this experiment, Conversion of Alcohol to Alkyl Halides and alcohol is converted to an alkyl halide through SN1 or an SN2 mechanism. This is done by using 1 propanol and 2 pentantol with HBr, Hydrobromic acid. Only half of the groups will use 1 propanol, and 2 pentantol. All results are analyzed using NMR and IR. An SN1 reaction, requires two steps. The first step, using an alcohol as an reactant, is the pronation of the OH group from the R group. This produces a cation intermediate. The cation intermediate is attacked by the Br group, from HBr. This is the second step. An SN2 mechanism, is only one step, unimolecular , and spontaneous. In an alcohol, the Br group will attack at the water, H2O, is leaving the reaction. The R group attacks to the Bromine leaving an excess water. Figure 1 Mechanism for 2 Pentantol SN1 Figure 2 2 Pentantol SN2 Mechanism Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, NMR, and Infrared, IR, Spectroscopy are used to determine the structure of unknown compounds. Nuclear Magnetic Resonance allows the student to see the nuclei in a molecule by the usage of light (1). The spectrum shows how carbon can form a number of different bonds hydrogens present in the molecule, double and single. IR spectroscopy gives an idea of the frequency of the molecules through the vibrations of the molecules. Infrared shows how molecules can perform like springs which connects with Hooke s Law. Hooke s Law is used to describe the vibrations of springs. Table

Wyatt McKenzie looked at his young navigator and smiled slightly. At six one, he stood considerably taller. I d just rather read a book and catch up on some sleep, Gavin. Read a book? The young ensign shook his head. The flight terminal of the space station was packed with humans and more. Gavin Teague was barely in his twenties and had a headful of wavy black hair, unlike the bald McKenzie. His eyes scanned the crowds of people excitedly. We ve been cooped up on that ship for nearly two weeks, Cap. The crew needs a chance to unwind more than the passengers do. Even you. We re schedule to return to Earth in three days, Wyatt reminded him. Gavin followed his captain onto the tram platform and looked down the magnetic tracks to look for their transport. With all due respect, sir, that s three days from now. There s a lot of fun to be had between now and then. Another three hundred passengers making their way back home from here, Mars and beyond. We have plenty of work to do making sure the Agamemnon is shape before we do. Wyatt reminded him and he saw the young man s shoulder slump in defeat. Relax.
