SJDanceco, and this concert was located at Santana Row s park. This event had

Given the task of conceptualizing a man who truly changed the realm of
technology as we know it today, my mind secludes one person. That person is Steve
Jobs, co founder of Apple Computer, now known simply as Apple. For this rhetorical
analysis, I will be using three biographies/profiles about Jobs including The Real
Genius of Steve Jobsby Malcolm Gladwell with The New Yorker (June 19, 2017),
Jobs Biography; Thoughts on Life, Death, and Apple from NPR (October 25, 2011),
and Steve Jobs from Biography.com (April 28, 2017). With precise attention to the
audience, purpose, and tone, all three of these profiles vividly explain and represent
Jobs as the truly exceptional man that he was.
The Real Genius of Steve Jobs foretells a story of a man who was insistent on
perfection. Jobs was constantly taking others ideas and tweaking them to make
them better. Gladwell writes speaking on the idea for a tablet style computer Jobs
sensibility was editorial, not inventive. His gift lay in taking what was in front of
him the tablet with stylus and ruthlessly refining it. (par. 9) This gave way to the

The socio cultural cognitive theory of Lev Vygotsky emphasizes children s cognitive
development cannot be understood apart from cultural settings, and social
interactions and activities shape their ways to construct knowledge (Jahoda, Dagnan,
Stenfert Kroese, Pert, Trower, 2009; Santrock, Mackenzie Rivers, Pangman, 2017;
Woolfolk, Winne, Perry, 2016). The notion of the zone of proximal development
(ZPD) is a well known concept of his theoretical framework (Santrock, Mackenzie
Rivers, Pangman, 2017; Woolfolk, Winne, Perry, 2016; Ylvisaker Feeney, 2009). In
the follow paragraphs, I will brief explain this concept, clarify how it closely relates
to individual daily life, and discuss the limit of this notion with reflect on my
personal experience.

There are several genetic variants that give rise to rare D phenotypes. The Rh null
syndrome (also called Rh deficiency syndrome) is the result of a mutation that results
in a lack of all Rh antigens. Since these antigens function to maintain the RBC

can t even think right with the amount of homework assigned to him. The teacher
starts the lesson and that s when the teacher is not able to catch the student s
attention. The student stares up in the air and looks at ceiling. He is listing every
single piece of homeworkhe has and quizzes and tests that week. That s when the
teacher finds this kid talking to himself. I have 3 tests, math homework, italian
homework, literacy homework, and science homework!! The student talks to himself.
Hey, stop staring off in space and listen to the lesson! The teacher exclaimed in a
nasty tone. The bell rings and the kid finally gets home.
Go do your homework! The kids mom stated. The student runs to his room and
locks the door so he doesn t get distracted. An hour passes by and he has done
nothing. His mom unlocks his door and checks up on what he has done. She figures
out he s asleep and has done nothing. She deviously takes his phone and he doesn t
know.
Two hours later he wakes up and his mom gets enraged and flips out on him. It is
currently 8:00pm and he has done none of his homework. He starts his homework
and doesn t finish until 10:30 pm and still has to study for three tests.
The next day he wakes up and starts the day off my getting up late and almost
missing the bus. He gets to school and starting off 1st period he has a common

Expressive Aphasia
I was frustrated with his facial expression when I was in the room. He locked eyes
with me when I spoke, but his face was slightly blank. His body language such as a
slight grimace or moan indicating that he was irritated, but his emotions and needs
were not obvious. I tried to put myself in his shoes and decipher his thoughts. The
patient s brother had to leave the room earlier because he could not watch his loved
one in this condition. While that response might be puzzling to some, I could relate.
My grandma also suffers from expressive aphasiadue to a stroke that initially left her
completely unable to speak, and I remembered how difficult it was to see her in that
condition. I began to think of ways that I could make a difference in this situation.
Later that night, I researched expressive aphasia online. Behavioral science classes
had exposed me to the subject, but they didn t offer a solution to communicate
effectively with this patient. Videos and articles instructed to speak directly and
simply and be patient. The next day, I spent some extra time with the patient. Thanks
to the use of a communication board and the lessons from my research, he finally

satisfying. Indeed, physicians have the appealing opportunity to face stimulating
challenges, solve problems, learn more every day, and lead healthcare teams. These

Doublethink in 1984 Hungry for absolute dominance over their people, the
totalitarian government known as the Party implements various tools, whether
physical or ideological, into the common man. One of these tools is the idea of
doublethink, where, holding both the absolute truth and the truth implanted by the
Party in their minds, any given person can believe two contradicting ideas at once.
George Orwell, the author of 1984, successfully shows the reader how doublethink
cannot be practiced. In one of the plentiful scenes where O Brien tortures Winston,
Winston fails to doublethink properly. Between the electric shocks, O Brien,
holding up four fingers, asks Winston to count how many fingers. Trying to instill
the value of doublethink in Winston, O Brien actually further demonstrates how
flawed doublethink is. Winston suppose[s] there are four (288), trying to see five
if I [Winston] could . Winston says he really wants to see them [the five fingers] ,
yet he still fails. After an electric shock, Winston experiences a vision of a forest of

At the beginning of Sherman Alexie s novel, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part
Time Indian, it is very apparent that although it is told in a very lighthearted
setting, the reality of the world that the main character Junior lives in is a very
bleak and depressing, with the modern treatment of Native Americans on
reservations coming to light in a rather bizarre fashion. However, that s not all that
