The Romans conquered Britain and much of Europe between the 1st century BC and 4th century AD. They built an extensive network of roads and established cities and towns throughout their empire. Roman culture had a lasting impact on religion, language, law, and architecture across Europe. Their legacy includes many modern governmental systems being based on the Roman Republic, and Latin influencing the languages of Europe.

elephants. But conquer west and north of Britain took

them VILLAS.There are lots of differents types of VILLAS.The most

For the first 300 years that rome ruled Britain they were
pagans. In AD 313 the emperor Constantine change the law,he
said it was good to be a christian.

Contubernium: consisted of 8 men.
Century:Was made up of 10 contubernium with a total of
80 men commanded by a centurion.
Cohort:Included 6 centuries, a total of 480 men.
Legion:Consisted of 10 cohorts, about 5,000 men.
Eques Legionis: Each legion had a cavarly unit of 120
attached to them.

Many modern-day governments were contrived after the Roman
Republic.
Roman law had a significant influence over the laws today of many
countries. Legal ideas like trial by jury, contracts, etc.All
were designed by Roman law and the Roman way of looking at
things.

The Latin language spoken by the Romans spread throughout much of

The amphitheatres were the entertainment in Roman times,they were
places where the romans watch fights between wild animals and
gladiator.The fighters were criminals whose punishment was having
the worst death.They can be also slaves. The biggest amphitheatre
was the colosseum.Which can seat up 50.000 people at once.

Their first roads were made in Britain. They made straight
roads for travel in order as quickly as they could. Many
modern day roads are in the same
places as Romans ones, you can know
it because they are straight.

Every town had it own bath. They were 170 bath in Rome during
the reign of Augustus.Rich villas owners would had their own
bath in their home.

The rich people who liked to be warm had heat in their
houses, in villas and in public baths. The slaves were who
kept fire in a furnace to heat warm air. They didn’t built
machines because they had slaves for doing heavy work. They
had drains to take dirty water.

Most of the people didn’t have free time because they were so
busy. The soldiers often played board games with counters and
dices. Romans enjoyed theatre and amphitheatre. There were
also charriot races.
