The document summarizes a PowerPoint presentation on Robin Sharma's book "The Leader Who Had No Title". The presentation discusses the four major themes of the book: 1) You need no title to be a leader, 2) Turbulent times build great leaders, 3) The deeper your relationships, the stronger your leadership, and 4) To be a great leader, first become a great person. It provides quotes and insights from the book relating to these themes.
In The Leader Who Had No Title, Robin Sharma shows how individuals, regardless of title, have the power to demonstrate leadership wherever they are. The lessons recounted in this book will help individuals rise to a new level of innovation, performance, and
customer loyalty. There are strategies to go from just being busy to achieving stunning results, transformational leadership lessons to build a great company, and hard-hitting tactics to become mentally and physically strong enough to lead in times of change
Bottom Line: The old model of leadership's dead. The old model said you need a title or position to make a difference. But in our new world, you can Lead Without a Title. This is Leadership 2.0.

From Peer to Leader: How to Develop Your First-Time ManagersBizLibrary
The transition from individual contributor to manager can be a daunting task. A survey by CEB, now Gartner, revealed that more than 50% of new managers fail. Balancing new responsibilities while learning how to lead former peers is a common challenge that most first-time managers struggle to overcome.
During this webinar, Learning & Development Manager Libby Mullen will discuss this challenge and five others that new managers face. She’ll explain why management training is a crucial element to success as your newly promoted managers transition to roles that require new, and frequently unfamiliar, skills and competencies.
Key takeaways:
Identify key strengths and improve weaknesses of first-time managers
Improve the relationship of new managers and their employees through emotional intelligence development and coaching techniques
Create a training plan that builds confidence and increases productivity for your new managers
In this book, Marshall Goldsmith begins by examining the trouble with
success, explaining how previous accomplishments often prevent leaders
from gaining more success. He analyzes why high achievers are so resistant
to change due to their delusion of success, pointing out that they can’t see
that what got them here won’t get them there.
These are people who do one annoying thing repeatedly on the job and don’t realize that this small flaw may sabotage their otherwise golden career. Worse yet, they do not realize that it’s happening and that they can fix it. Goldsmith details the 20 habits that hold you back from the top rung of the corporate ladder. In his experience, these are the most irritating interpersonal issues in the workplace. For each habit, he gives examples
and practical solutions you can implement. He then describes the 21st habit, which stands separate from the other 20 habits –– not because it is a flaw, but because it is often the root of an annoying behavior.
Finally, Goldsmith addresses the problem of how you can change your interpersonal relationships for the better, and ensure that you make your behavioral changes permanent.
This summary reveals how you can identify which of these 20 habits apply to you, and how to choose the one or two you should focus on.
In addition, you will learn:
The four key beliefs that make you successful but also resistant to change.
Why the higher you go, the more your problems are behavioral.
Why the 21st habit, goal obsession, may be the most destructive of all.
How to get good 360-degree feedback from your colleagues on your own.
How to overcome special challenges if you’re the one in charge at the workplace.

‘The Leader Who Had No Title’
A brief overview of Robin Sharma’s
recent book

It is a book that focuses on achieving success
and happiness at work. It is a very interesting
perspective with quite a few uplifting sections
which are very inspiring. As one reads it, one
can’t help feeling sometimes that the book is a
bit utopian in concept with a disconnect from
harsh realities of workplace. But on the whole
you can’t deny that it is invigorating,
exhilarating and elevating.
Note:-
With so many lovely quotes, I just could not reduce the
number of slides. But since these are only quotes and
no big write ups, I sincerely hope you can easily glance
through the whole lot and do not mind the number of
slides.

I liked the way Robin Sharma starts his
book with the following quotation …….
‘In a gentle way you can shake the
world’
– Mahatma Gandhi
4. Powerpoint Templates
Page 4
It is in an imperious manner that he titles
the very first chapter of his book ……..
‘Leadership and Success are your
birth right’
… and he goes ahead making a great impact with
his very first two sentences ……..
‘Each of us is born into genius. But
sadly most of us die amid mediocrity’

The first couple of chapters seem to
be like a preamble leading upto his
main four themes that start in the
fourth chapter. Further he uses the
first three chapters to build up the
fable.
A few lovely quotes from his first
three chapters in the following
slides ……

In case you wonder whether Robin Sharma is
suggesting doing away with titles in an
organisation, very quickly he points out …..
‘I am not at all saying an organisation should not have titles.
They should actually. We need the people on the executive
team setting the vision, steering the boat and holding
ultimate responsibility for the results. Titles and Structure
maintain order and keep everything running smoothly. But
…. for any organisation to thrive amid all the turbulance ….
each one of us needs to take personal responsibility by
becoming CEO of our own roles and leaders within our
current positions.’
‘We all need to lead where we are planted
