Dr. Jef Boeke is a leading professor in molecular biology and genetics who received his PhD from Rockefeller University in 1982. He has worked at Johns Hopkins University and will soon join NYU. The document defines the genome as the total genetic information of an organism, which can be encoded in RNA or DNA. A genome represents the gene and chromosome structure and is replicated in human nuclear cells. The human genome was fully mapped in 2003.
