Things Fall Apart By Chinua Achebe
Okonkwo. Mr.Brown. These two men are drastically different from one another. But it is only 2 things
in this whole wide world that separate them. In the novel, Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe, the
fundamental differences between Okonkwo and Mr. Brown s core beliefs as to how society should run
derives from they re interpretations of moral religious requirements and culturally accepted or rejected
actions when it comes to economy, women s rights, as well as war and military. That glaring line
between their beliefs on those issues is materialism and how present materialism is in their respective
religions and cultures.
In Okonkwo s culture, to be accepted, money is almost the only thing you need. The only thing more

To Mr.Brown s culture, if all you care about is money, you aren t going to be accepted often. You will
be viewed as selfish, greedy and not many people will generally like you. Money is freedom in his
culture, as you can do more enjoyable and expensive events with that money. But he knows that
money is valueless when you die. Either you go to Heaven or Hell in his beliefs, and money is useless
in both places. Therefore, an economy is clearly important to have, since probably anarchy would
ensue without a stable economy system, but some people take it too seriously. Money isn t everything
in his culture. And family, memories and being a Christ following person is what really matters, not
money. Those things you can t drop on your foot, therefore materialism is viewed as evil in his
society, since needing tangible things is frowned upon in his society. He knows some people don t get
that, but the overall cultural beliefs are that money isn t all to live for. In spite of Okonkwo s beliefs on
the extreme importance of money, Mr.Brown s culture believes money is valueless when you die and
isn t the only thing to live for. In conclusion, materialism, as what someone has is how much one is
worth, is viewed as highly acceptable in Umofia, while Mr.Brown believes that materials do not make
a man and it s who that person is inside is what matters.
In Okonkwo s beliefs, men are supreme and are just better than women derives from

ABSTRACT
The remote sensor system is framed by vast number of sensor hubs. Sensor hubs may be
homogeneous or heterogeneous. These systems are very conveyed and comprise of numerous number
of less cost, less power, less memory and self arranging sensor hubs. The sensor hubs have the
capacity of detecting the temperature, weight, vibration, movement, mugginess, sound as in and so on.
Because of a requirement for heartiness of checking, remote sensor systems (WSN) are normally

Cardiovascular Disease
Diseases of the cardiovascular and lymphatic system can present itself in many ways. Often these
diseases circulate through the body creating a vehicle for pathogens to spread. We will look at four
different diseases that affect the cardiovascular and lymphatic system. Plague is an infectious disease;
it had a deadly effect on human history. The plague was known as Black Death in the middle ages.
The causative agents of the plague are Yersinia pestis Gram negative bacteria. This bacterium is
usually spread through contact with the vectors or in this case the oriental rat flea, which usually have
direct contact humans. The oriental rat fleas feed on the reservoirs such as Rodents, rats, mice and
squirrels that harbors to infectious agents. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The causative agent is Filoviridae ebolavirus. There is no known reservoir for the virus, although
scientists believe that fruit bats may be a possible reservoir because they harbor the disease without
showing any signs or symptoms. Once infected with the virus the symptoms, usually do not appear for
two to twenty one days, which resembles the flu and often mistaken or misdiagnosed as the flu.
However, as the disease progress, bleeding from the inside is noticeable through stool, coughing up
blood, bleeding from the eyes and ears. Unfortunately, there is no treatment for this deadly infection
and usually involves treating the symptoms as they appear. Nursing interventions are a major part in
treating the patient and possible survival from this disease. Priority nursing interventions include,
watching for any changes in the patient s respiration rate and pattern, monitor the patient s fluid and
electrolyte imbalance, intake and output. Also, check and monitor complete blood count and
coagulation studies for signs of blood loss and coagulopathy, monitor and test stools, urine and
vomitus for blood; watch for bleeding. Teach the patient s family about Ebola virus infection; monitor
the patient s family and other close contacts for fever and other signs of

Effects Of Inspiration In Edgar Allan Poe
Title: Finding Inspiration Through Catastrophe Edgar Allan Poe once said, With me, poetry has not
been a purpose, but a passion. When stressed, literature was his coping mechanism, and through
observation, many grasp how much death encompassed Poe. Although not appreciated during his era,
he revolutionized mystery with mesmerizing story plots that yield suspense but also make readers
question his stability. Most importantly, unlike those famous during his lifetime, Poe s legacy will live
on. Moreover, throughout life, Poe experienced catastrophes, and because of this, writing became his
creative outlet. Poe parents, Elizabeth and David, both aspiring actors, died when he was three.
Although he remembered them briefly, their demise altered his outlook on life. Nevertheless, refuge
found him through John and Francis Allan, who accepted his ambitions with reluctance as they
envisioned him managing the family business. While growing up, they urged him again and again in
leaning towards another career, but his passions outweighed their gratification. Since he remained
stubborn, they provided him with little support during college years. Consequently, Poe fell into a
large amount of debt and began gambling. Therefore, stricken by destitution and humiliated, he quit
school and traveled home, only to discover his girlfriend with another man. Overall, Poe s youth was
marked by ill fated events which became the building blocks for his writing. For instance, in The Cask

Contrasts between Zeffirelli and Luhrmann’s Romeo and...
Contrasts between Zeffirelli and Luhrmann s Romeo and Juliet There are many differences, large and
small, between Zeffirelli and Luhrmann s version of Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet. After seeing the
first scene of both of these films, some notable contrasts became clear. The props used in both films
differ greatly, in the 1967 version, very dated costumes were used, it looked like the director wanted a
medieval style to be shown in the film judging by the costumes and props used. Real swords were
drawn by the Capulet s and the Montague s as the play suggests but the fighting seemed quite
unbelievable to a modern day viewer as did some of the stalls used in the small market surroundings.
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The scenery in each play also differs greatly; the 1967 version is set in a medieval village with castles
and a small market. Again its age shows as the buildings and backdrops look quite fake against the
modern scenery in the 1997 film. Good lighting is used in the older film but again the newer one has
realistic effects and buildings and overall has better quality scenery. In both films, certain lines are
missed out or changed slightly; I think the language used is basically the same but in the market it was
hard at times to hear what exactly was being said over all the noise of the villagers. Although
Luhrmann did a good job of bringing modern props into the film, the language used in play sounded
odd coming from modern people, dressed in modern clothes at a petrol station. So I think the older
film did a better job with the language despite the hearing difficulty in some parts. The Acting quality
was good in both films, but I found the style in the early 1967 version was boring and the fight scenes
were slightly unbelievable. The 1997 version was more exciting and kept u interested but there wasn t
really much between the two films in the quality of acting. Finally I looked at the different camera
techniques used, it was interesting to see that both plays had shots of the legs or shoes of one of the
families, Zeffirelli shot

Christian Rhetoric in The History of Mary Prince and...
Christian Rhetoric in Mary Prince s The History of Mary Prince, and Buchi Emecheta s Second Class
Citizen
It is true, perhaps, that women are the subset of humanity whose rights had been the longest stripped
of them, and who had been abused the worst and for the longest time. Even today, many people
believe that women still do not have the equality that ought to be afforded them. Since women first
started making steps to approach that ideal equality, they have used various means, including
literature, to further their cause. Both Mary Prince s The History of Mary Prince, as well as Buchi
Emecheta s Second Class Citizen, use language of Christian rhetoric to simultaneously cast their
characters and themselves as sinners and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another way that Prince establishes a sympathetic connection with her readers is by drawing parallels
between her and The Messiah. At one point, Prince states, I was soon surrounded by strange men, who
examined and handled me in the same manner that a butcher would a calf or a lamb he was about to
purchase (7). Here, she compares herself to a lamb; which is an animal that Jesus was often compared,
and is even directly called the Lamb of God. In the story of the Christian faith, there is not a single
person more righteous than Jesus of Nazareth. Therefore, in creating a near subconscious comparison
between him and her, as well as putting herself in contrast to the wicked, she establishes in the mind
of the reader her position as the redeemed in the eyes of the reader.
Like Prince, who creates negative imagery to establish her position as a righteous figure, Emecheta
also uses subconscious Christian rhetoric in order to stimulate a positive association towards her in an
audience composed mostly of Christians. She does this in order to create an empathic connection
between her and the reader. At one point, Emecheta says, all the passengers stood one at a time, at the
plane s door, waved the final goodbye to their folks and then disappeared into the bowels of the whale
like monster they called the

Mrs. Harris s Heart Failure
In the case study it discusses a patient, Mrs. Harris, who is a 72 year old and is complaining of fatigue
and swelling in her feet. Mrs. Harris also expresses her concern on the swelling, as some days she is
unable to put her shoes on despite proper elevation. She also states walking to her mailbox can be
challenging because it causes her to feel more tired and to have shortness of breath, also known as
dyspnea. Mrs. Harris is currently taking medication for high blood pressure, hypertension; and is also
drinking approximately 8 12 glasses of wine a week. While examining Mrs. Harris it s clear she is a
little overweight and has swollen ankles. Upon listening to Mrs. Harris s breathing, crackles are heard.
Therefore, Mrs. Harris seems to have congestive heart failure.
Heart failure describes the heart s inability to function properly, meaning the heart is unable to pump
efficiently throughout the body. Thus causing the heart to work extra hard in order to compensate the
body s needs, but this ultimately leads to failure. And due to Mrs. Harris s hypertension and alcohol
consumption, she is now displaying signs and symptoms of congestive heart failure, as both are major
risk factors. Heart failure can be seen in the left side, which is also known as congestive heart failure,
and the right side of heart. The left side is typically the first side to fail, as the left ventricle is the heart
s largest chamber and the most powerful.

Provides Us With A Way To Learn Cause And Effect Relations
provides us with a way to learn cause and effect relations between environmental events (Martin,
Carlson and Buskist, 2010, pg 259). Classical conditioning is learning by association Classical
conditioning is a type of learning in which an organism learns to transfer a natural response from one
stimulus to another, previously neutral stimulus. Manipulating reflexes does this. Operant conditioning

36). Preoperational children are completely egocentric. Although they begin to take greater interest in
objects and people around them, they see these things from only their point of view. This also has been
said to be the stage of curiosity. Preoperational children are always questioning and investigating new
things and since they know the world only from their very limited point of view they make up
explanations for things they cannot explain (ICELS). The preoperational stage is therefore
characterized by egocentric thought and the inability for children to adopted alternative viewpoints.
According to Piaget this is the stage at which children s thoughts differ the most from adults. The third
stage is the concrete operational stage. This stage extends from ages 7 to 11 and it is during this stage
that a child is able to perform mental operations. Piaget defines a mental operation as an interiorized
action, an action performed in the mind which permits the child to think about physical actions that he
or she previously performed (Piaget 1973, p. 36). At this time children demonstrate logical, concrete
reasoning and their thinking becomes less egocentric as they are increasingly aware of external events.
The primary characteristic of concrete operational thought is its reversibility; the child can mentally

Homelessness
Access to Primary Care for Homeless People in the USA
History of the Topic
Homelessness is a significant health challenge to care system in the United States. Maness and Khan
state that over 610,000 people did not have a shelter in 2013 on any given night (Maness Khan, 2014).
Also, a study conducted by Health Quality Ontario (2016) reviewed homelessness interventions
between 1995 and 2015. The study indicates that the problem has been in existence for quite some
years. According to Maness and Khan (2014), an increase in the shortage of affordable housing has
been the primary trends responsible for homelessness in over thirty years. Also, statistics indicated
that about 14.3 percent of Americans and 10.5 percent of the families lived on ... Show more content

On the other hand, care delivery systems that are tailor made jointly with a regular source of care are
among facilitators of access to care for the homeless (White Newman, 2014). Additionally, orientation
to clinic services was found to improve homeless people s access to care particularly those without
severe mental conditions. Studies on this topic have identified information sources regarding
homelessness as well as agencies that can support efforts aimed at addressing the problem. Such
sources include HCH and CHC programs. The National Health Care for the Homeless Council (U.S.)
(2011) provides the guide with necessary information regarding homelessness in the U.S. thus
becoming a resource for researchers as well as the public for those concerned with homelessness.
Explored Topics by the Studies
Research work has explored various areas regarding homelessness. One of them is clinical and
medical condition that affects homeless people. As noted by Maness and Khan (2014), homeless
persons suffer the same health problems as the general population. However, unlike the general
population, individuals without shelter have long term exposure to risk factors as well as disease
agents. Such factors include poor sanitary conditions, all forms of abuse, violence, overcrowding, poor
nutrition, weather extremes, and trauma among others. The homeless are therefore exposed to
cardiovascular diseases such as

Freedom Of Expression
What is art? Can it be defined in any single painting, or sculpture? Is it even something that can be
seen, or does it have to be experienced? The term quot;art quot; is so vague that it can be applied to
almost anything, really. Mostly, however, art should be that which frees our imagination. It connects
our conscious with our subconscious, putting into a visual form what we feel and think. It allows us to
explore our inner self and fill that urge to understand our minds and our universe. Art helps us to see
beyond the ordinary, to see what is in our hearts without being blinded by reality. When an artist
creates a painting, it is not to create a picture; it is to create a feeling or mood. The purpose is to
convey an emotion, and, it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At that time, Mayor Rudolph Guiliani, after having viewed the exhibit, threatened to withdraw city
financial support to the museum.
The Mayor labeled the exhibit quot;sick quot; and quot;offensive to Catholics quot;, and made no
secret that his objections were based on his personal dislike of the contents of the show. He criticized
the work of Chris Ofili, specifically a painting called The Holy Virgin Mary, because of its use of
elephant dung. Ofili, a British artist of Nigerian descent, uses elephant dung in many of his works as a
reference to his African roots. As an observant Catholic himself, he denies that his work is either anti
Catholic or anti religious. He meant the dung to be a symbol of life and providence, however this
simple explanation was not enough to satisfy Guilani. His threats to withdraw funding stood firm.
Offili told the New York Times, quot; The people who are attacking this painting are attacking their
own interpretation, not mine. quot; Damien Hirst, whose display was also part of the show, said that
the mayor quot;may as well say, I only like Picasso and if you don t show it then I m going to cut your
funding. It s just pure censorship. quot; He may be right, and the Brooklyn Museum of Art sued the
city on September 28th, protesting the mayor s threat to freeze millions of dollars in funds.

A Personal Note On Negations Skills

As the business world becomes increasingly dynamic; no longer restricted within borders and
boundaries, it now intertwines like a spiders web in many ways, whilst content changes take place at
an increasing pace; spurred primarily by globalization, increased economic volatility, the internet
boom and constant innovations. To thrive in this increasingly dynamic environment, a leader must

A sales representative approached us, we advised him of what we are interested in. We sat down and
started discussing what we wanted as extras and started the negotiation process. My husband did his
research prior to coming into the showroom and had an idea of what would ideally be a good price for
this vehicle. The showroom Pilot, had everything we were looking for, from colour to all of the extras.
Our kids started getting restless, there is just so much fun to be had in pretending to drive a car. As I
went to entertain them, my father in law and husband took over the negations (this is never a good
combination). My father in law, who is East Indian, even though he has spent over 30 plus years in
Canada, still negotiates as if he was still in India. Our sales person was also from India.
My father in law started with the lowball tactic (Lewicki, Saunders Barry, 2014), which was a price
that was ridiculously low. The sales person then took that offer to his manager, he returned with a
counter offer that was about five hundred dollars less than the listed price. This back and forth
continued for quite some time. The kids were getting even more restless, I advised that we should
leave now and come back some other time without the kids. The sales associate, became more
aggressive and started with the snow job tactic (Lewicki, Saunders Barry, 2014), inundating both my

Julia Margaret Cameron Essay
At a time when women were looked upon as being homemakers, wives, mothers and such the late
1850 s presented a change in pace for one woman in specific. Photography was discovered in 1826
and soon after the phenomenon of photography was being experimented with and in turn brought new
and different ways of photo taking not only as documenting real time, but also conceptualizing a scene
in which an image would be taken. Julia Margaret Cameron will forever be recorded in the history
books as one of the first female photographers to make significant contributions to a field that was
ruled by the male counterpart of her time. Julia Margaret Cameron was born 1815 in Calcutta, India

Photography had forever changed the world when it was invented and ways of documenting now

Julius Orsini Death Essay
Julius Orsini died on January 27, 2010. He lived most of his adult life with his sister, Laura Impressa.
Laura and Julius lived next door to their brother, Robert Orsini, for over forty years. Their sister,
Diane, lived on the other side of Robert. Julius and Robert were very close and visited each other
daily. Robert handled Julius s financial and business matters.
On May 25, 2006, Laura and Julius executed identical wills leaving their estates to each other and then
to their relatives. These wills were very specific about the percentages of bequests to each branch of
the family. Each will also provided for a bequest to Julius s friend Gene Rosato. Laura Impressa died
in September 2008, leaving her entire estate to Julius.
The testimony indicates that, after Laura s death, Robert [*12] Orsini began to tell other family
members that he felt the 2006 Will was unfair to his family. Robert made comments to family
members about changing the 2006 Will, saying such things as I have him right where I want him, and
there wasn t a will that couldn t be broken. Robert Orsini, however, testified that he never brought the
2006 Will up to Julius. There was also testimony that Julius expressed frustration with the family s

29 October 2015 Just Like Humans
If a person was to be asked to describe our life stages, they would probably say something like people
are born, they live, and then they die. Of course, they aren t wrong, but we humans go through
beautiful stages before reaching death. We go through stages such as infancy, childhood, adolescence,
and adulthood. In many ways, Stars are just like humans. They also go through astonishing stages, all
leading up to its death. The death of a star will probably be one of the most beautiful and terrifying
moments we wont get to witness. But our sun being such a key factor in our everyday life, is reason
enough to know the importance of its life cycle and the process it will undertake as it begins to perish.
But in order to understand how and why a star dies we first must ask ourselves: what exactly makes up
a star?
We might look at the sun and think Hmm, well it just looks like a big ball of fire to me. Good! The sun
is a big ball of fire, but it doesn t burn exactly like fire, it s more a burning glow. This glowing heat,
which is about 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit, is not produced by burning like in a chemical reaction but
rather by fusion like in a nuclear reaction. Now, to understand how the sun enters the final stage of its
life cycle, it is important we fully understand how the sun was created. For humans, one of the earliest
stages of life is birth. A human is

Working Memory Gender Differences
Working memory (WM) is used to active temporary storage and manipulation of information within
the time of a few seconds, and is an important component for many higher cognitive functions.
(Speck, Ernst, Braun, Koch, Miller and Chang, 2000) When it comes to memory, there is a short term
memory as well a long term memory. The differences between the two is that the information that is
stored in a short term memory are only there for a short amount of time and the information in the
long term memory have been there for a long period of time. The working memory according to

According to the research done by Speck, Ernst, Braun, Koch, Miller, and Chang, there are differences
between the male and female brains in regards to hemisphere activation when the brain is storing and
manipulating specific information over a short period of time. It was found that these differences in
the hemisphere activation influenced the time and accuracy performances of males and females. As
found by Hill, Laird, and Robinson, gender differences are shown in the two different types of
working memory: spatial and verbal. The gender differences were evident in the brains of the
participants. Different areas of the brain were activated, which demonstrated that males and females
favor different types of working memory. This research helped us understand that females are more
advanced in verbal working memory and men favor spatial working memory. Bridge also discovered
gender differences with memory and cognition being that women were more successful than men with
recollection. Additionally, Bridge concluded that social and biological factors may potentially be

Types Of Bipolar Disorder ( Bipolar )
There are several types of bipolar disorders, but the two main types are Bipolar I and Bipolar II.
Bipolar I is the definitive type of the bipolar disorder, and the person will constantly go through both
the manic and depressive stages of the condition. The length of these episodes will differ from time to
time. In Bipolar II, the manic stages are not as severe as Bipolar I; nevertheless, the depressive stages
are quite similar (bipolar). But what causes this life altering mental illness? Several factors contribute
to the cause of bipolar disorder such as genetics, biology, and environment. It is believed by
researchers that there is a genetic susceptibility for bipolar disorder. The existence of irregularity on
certain genes is also being investigated by scientists. According to the National Institute of Mental
Health (NIMH), children with a parent or sibling who has bipolar disorder are four to six times more
likely to develop the illness, compared with children who do not have a family history of bipolar
disorder. Bipolar disorder does seem to run in families, but that does not mean that if one has a bipolar
parent, that the individual will definitely have this mental condition, or even get it. It is believed by
scientists and researchers that it s not just a single gene that is the cause; but rather a number of genes
which can be triggered by an individual s environment. In some cases, a person can live their entire
life with the gene, and nothing triggers it or

there are significantly more sellers who could show consumers that their products function the same

better quality, then this could probably start breaking the monopolistic control of Luxottica. However,
they would need to position themselves well in the minds of

Reggae as a Means of Social Transformation Through The Voices of the Rastafari
Jamaica, the third largest Caribbean island is not only home to tropical weather and picturesque
landscapes, but also to social unrest and perhaps some of the most rebellious people. Since its
existence, this nation has seen a series of revolutions and riots in efforts to reverse the unjust social,
economic, and political conditions. The most influential of these revolutionary efforts contributed to
the formation of Jamaica s very own religious movement, Rastafarianism. With oppression serving as
one of the driving forces for the Rastafari Movement, it is understandable why its followers are so
adamant about professing their ideologies, beliefs and practices. The central language used to express
the grievances of Rastafarians is known globally as the music genre, Reggae. It is not merely
coincidental that the country pregnant with such radical motives also gave birth to its own music
brand. By examining the music of artists such as Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Luciano and more, we
can deduce that Reggae music served and continues to serve as the most prominent vehicle for the
spread of Rastafarianism.
The Rastafari Movement emerged in Jamaica in the 1930s out of desires to defeat the crippling British
colonial culture and to establish an identity based on the reclamation of African heritage. The men

Religious and Ethnic Diversity
Mormonism is a uniquely American religion, have been founded by Joseph Smith Jr., of New York (
The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints , 2013). Mormonism originated in the 1820s, as
described by the Church s website, when Joseph Smith Jr. was confused and frustrated by the various
Christian religions and was unable to choose one to follow. He turned to the Bible, which told him to
ask God when he lacked wisdom. So he prayed to God, and was visited by the Heavenly Father and
his Son, Jesus Christ. According to one of the members of the governing body of The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter Day Saints, Bruce McConkie (1958), Mormonism is ... Show more content on

All ethnicities, at one time or another, have suffered from prejudice at the hands of another ethnic
group.
Most African Americans living in the United States today have ties to slavery, meaning that they are
the descendants of slaves. Following that back even further, a huge majority of the entire immigration
of Black people to the Americas was through the transatlantic slave trade. Throughout our country s
history, Black people have faced discrimination and prejudice, which they have fought to overcome.
The greatest advancement towards overcoming this discrimination was the abolishment of slavery
during The Civil Way. However, being freed did not mean that they were able to live as freely as other
Americans. The battle for other rights and an end to segregation lasted another century. Even today,
discrimination against Black people is all too prolific.
In any case, whether a religious group, a racial group, or an ethnic group, prejudice and discrimination
has the same basic causes. One group attempts to give themselves a better opportunity through the
oppression of another group, or one group lacks understanding in regards to another group. The only
solutions to prejudice is through understanding, critical thinking, and diversity.

Van Gogh And Olive Christ In The Garden Of Olives
Van Gogh got excited over the look of these trees and painted them. Some of his paintings of the trees
represented life, others represented how he felt about Christ in Gethsemane, and others represented a
combination of both of these things. An example of an art piece that had a lot to do with religion was
Olive Trees with Alpilles in the Background (Fig. 6). This piece was painted with Christ in
Gethsemane in mind. He wanted to create a piece that used a more purer and serence sense of nature
without using religious imagery. With this piece he wanted to show it was possible to paint the
meaning of Christ in the Garden of Olives, the garden of Gethsemane where Christ prayed the night
before his crucifixion, without aiming straight for the historical Garden of Gethsemane. Vincent had
done religious paintings before, he actually painted Christ in the arden of Olives twice before, but both
times he decided not to paint the images of Christ since, as he said in a letter to his brother Theo, he
did not want to do figures of such importance without a model. Van Gogh actually had begun to avoid
doing religious work around this time for both aesthetic and moral reasons. Van Gogh had rejected
what he believed to be his parents narrow religionious views and went for a much different view, one
where life itself almost didn t seem to matter of have purpose, something close to Nihilism. Vincent
instead tried to find meaning in the cycles of nature and how they related to the

Doing Business in India
We believe the single greatest risk of doing business in India is its bureaucracy. The Indian
bureaucracy is often referred to as babudom. An Indian bureaucrat is often referred to as a babu.
Today, babu may also mean Sir or Mr. The babudom was formed after India gained independence
from Britain. It employs many more people than necessary and it is highly unproductive. Each
geographic region of the babudom requires specific government permissions and taxes. Making
progress in the babudom with limited local support is a difficult task, especially for a small U.S. firm
with limited capital.
The babudom wastes your company s time. It will cause delays in the completion of your goals. It
may take years before your company is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Companies have to pay employees to deal with the babudom instead of paying them to sell their
products and services. Companies often hire outside people to help them deal with the babudom. For
example, a company might hire an attorney or someone familiar with the law to help expedite the
process of approval for their products.
Instead of telling someone negative information, Indians in the babudom will often communicate a
negative response by endless stalling. This stalling could last for months or even years. Throughout
this stalling, the Indian will come up with excuses for why something has not been done. Americans
must be able to recognize when they are being given false information and know when to move on.
For example, if an is unable to do something for your company, he or she still might say, I ll try
instead of saying no.
Contact the appropriate government departments for information to help you save time and avoid
bureaucratic processes. The India desks at the U.S. State Department and the Commerce Department
will be able to provide you with the latest rules and regulations governing investment, the export of
goods, and the import of goods or services. It would also be useful to contact the nearest Indian
consulate or embassy for the names of bilateral trade organizations in your home country that can
offer useful advice and current information on India s ongoing reforms.

Child Soldiers in Uganda
Child Soldiers in Uganda Imagine being snatched from your bed in the middle of the night and forced
to commit horrific war crimes at only 7 years old. In Uganda, this sadly isn t an unusual occurrence.
Children and their families live in fear of being captured and made into child soldiers against their
will. Led by Joseph Kony, the Lord s Resistance Army has abducted over 30,000 children in Uganda
and forced them to fight in war. These children are forced to become brutal killing machines, and lose
touch with their livelihood, morals and ultimately their childhood. A student at MHS should care about
the child soldiers in Uganda because children are the future of a country. If children grow up in
inhumane conditions and trained to be violent from a young age, they will grow up into antagonistic
adults that our generation will have to deal with later on in life. The Lord s Resistance Army, or the
LRA, is Africa s most violent armed group and also the oldest. Joseph Kony formed the LRA in 1986
in northern Uganda, to fight against the Ugandan Government. At the height of the conflict, about two
million people were displaced in northern Uganda. Since the LRA never gained public support, they
turned to forcible recruitment to build up their army ( The Lord s Resistance Army ). Kony, and the
LRA believe that Uganda should be governed and run based on the 10 Commandments. They rely on
the application of terror in order to keep their campaign alive. The war in Uganda being

Description Essay Total Eclipse By Annie Dillard
Annie Dillard s Total Eclipse depicts her own existential crisis while watching the 1979 solar eclipse.
Using metaphors and Stream of Consciousness Writing she details her own dissociative hallucination.
She begins her work by describing her morning, comparing it to an avalanche, It had been like dying,
She wrote. that sliding down the mountain pass. It had been like the death of someone, irrational, that
sliding down the mountain pass and into the region of dread. IT was like slipping into fever, or falling
down that hole in sleep from which you wake yourself whimpering. Setting the tone for the essay,
death and irrational thoughts filling her mind as it unfolds around her. She compares the avalanche to

she is standing outside on a mountain, watching the eclipse with her husband. She slips into a

According to Metro.us, the Los Angeles Lakers are just one superstar away from having a great season
and trading for Carmelo Anthony could be a viable option for them. Surely, Melo will bring in his vast
experience being in the league for 13 years that could also help guide the young players for the
Lakers. Aside from experience, his production of 22.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.1 assists will surely
boost their offense. But who will they offer as trade pieces for Melo? According to CBSSports, the
Los Angeles Lakers could throw in a package of guard Jordan Clarkson, guard Lou Williams and
forward Luol Deng as trade offers to the New York Knicks for Carmelo Anthony. This is not bad for a
return for the Knicks acquiring one young and two veteran players that are solid contributors.
However, having this trade won t mean that the Lakers is assured of a postseason appearance rather it
only give them a better chance of competing for that position. Meanwhile, the Knicks might ask for
more for Anthony, maybe a future draft pick, unless the Lakers don t have much in terms of draft
picks. Would the Los Angeles Lakers be the best trade destination for New York Knicks superstar

Gay Adoption Should Be Legal
Gay adoption is a touchy subject to a lot of people. Even though gay adoption became legal in all 50
states on June 26, 2017 everyone still seems to have an opinion on the matter and a lot of the opinions
lean toward not allowing gay couples to adopt. There are so many children in the foster care system
that need loving and stable homes so why not let gay couples give that to them? There is a lot of
evidence to show that gay couples can be just as good at parenting as a straight couple. Maybe even
better due to them being committed and better motivated because they chose to be parents. No child
should be denied parents that will give them a loving and stable home just as no couple should be
denied a child due to their sexual preference. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not a single study has found a difference (between children of gay and straight parents) that you can
construe as harmful. (Dan Gilgoff, 2005) While the debate continues on whether or not to allow gay
couples to adopt, the numbers of children with gay parents keeps increasing. Children with gay
parents thrive and continue to do just as well as children in straight homes. However, critics disagree
and feel that children living in gay homes are at risk of having an unhappy life. Gregory Rogers, a
writer living in South Africa, believes that children in gay homes will have issues that include the
instability of homosexual relationships, evidence of widespread pedophilia within the gay community,
and the possible psychological and social problems associated with children reared in homes without a
mother and a father. Rogers believes it is wrong to trust homosexual couples with the fragile and
impressionable development of children.(2013) Even though a lot of people feel the same way that
Rogers does, that does not mean that it is true. Statistics have shown that children that are raised by
gay parents do just as good as children raised by straight parents. Kerry Hosking, a psychology and
metaphysics student said It is not possible to discriminate against prospective (gay, lesbian, bisexual,

One of Walton s most important, influential and successful ideas he used at the Benjamin Franklin

rules for building a business that he shared with all of his employees, the first being: commit to your
business, and believe in it more than anybody else. The second rule was to share your profits with
your associates and treat them as partners in order to have a mutual respect and furthermore an

How Is Candy Handicapped In Of Mice And Men

the novel Candy, Crooks, and Curley s wife all have one thing in common and that is that they all are

There was no residue left inside her to think it was from the pills so it must have been from a lethal

think that Monroe s death was murder from John F. Kennedy and Bobby Kennedy, (with whom
Marilyn supposedly have had affairs with), saying that she knew too much about the Kennedy family
and that she was going to announce the secrets publicly to the world, and Bobby Kennedy was in Los
Angeles that weekend. Fred Otash claimed that he had bugged Marilyn Monroe s room and had heard
her screams as Bobby Kennedy suffocated her to death. The other theory is that the Kenney s sent the

that she was already on other medication. I later found out that the writer of the article had no
background information which led me to believe that he or she was a fraud. If it was from lethal
injection then why wasn t any needle marks found? I started to believe another theory that Marilyn
Monroe died by a dose of enema. Supposedly she was a fan of enema, but to perform the enema dose
there must have been another person to give the lethal dose to her. So people believed it was her

Charles Perrault And The Brothers Grimm And Grimm Brothers
Although there are many versions of virtually every fairy tale known to man, not all of the different
adaptations are contrasting. The bases of stories tend to remain the same, due to the fact that the main
plots are unvarying. Throughout history, these famous fairytales have been passed on by word of
mouth. The two most well known authors who wrote their interpretations of fairy tales are French
author Charles Perrault (1628 1703), and The Brothers Grimm / Jacob (1785 1863) and Wilhelm
Grimm (1786 1859). Although Perrault wrote down his thoughts much earlier than the Grimm

Unlike in the version written by Perault, the Grimm Brothers take a creative path in which it is not
Bluebeard s appearance that makes others feel on edge when he is around, it is evident that that the
reason people find his presence discomforting is far deeper than his exterior. The list of variances
could go on and on, however, the main difference is the color of the man s beard. In the fairy tale
written by Perrault, Bluebeard indeed has a blue beard. However, this is not the case in the tale written
by the Grimm Brothers, where in reality Bluebeard s beard is veritably black. Not only are there
evident differences in the information presented in the writing, but in fact, the style of writing is much
different as well. With these main variances in the ideas of the story, one may think that the tale of
Bluebeard may differ between the two different versions, however that is not necessarily the case.
When reading the adaptation by Perrault, the reader may find the story slightly complex and
confusing. They ceased not to extol and envy the happiness of their friend (Perrault 2). It can be noted
that Perrault uses words that may seem to be very formal and professional sounding, however, the
reader can easily find themselves getting lost in the ocean of complex words and phrases. The writing
of the Brothers Grimm, however, is much more understandable and to the point. They shortened the

Effects Of Youth Sports
Sports is one of the most viewed and attended events in today s society. Today youth sports have
soared in popularity, as more and more children participate in sports at a young age. Youth sports are
intended to bring together young kids and develop friendships, teams, and to overall just have fun. As
parents put their kids into these sports at a very young age, the effects can often be costly. The increase
in popularity of youth sports has caused injuries to skyrocket, children and parents must face different
ethnicities and also fairness towards playing time, and lastly youth sports coaches are not well
educated and therefore often teach the youth the wrong ways of playing the game, which put the kids
at a higher risk of injury. The popularity of youth sports has caused these multiple effects. The
increase in injuries have widely grown throughout youth sports. As youth sports increased in
popularity there has been a recorded 2.6 million hospital visits related to sports injuries with the youth.
(Merkel, Donna L) Youth minds are still developing during youth football at a very young age, and
continuous blows to the head or throwing in plays, teaching the youth, cause them to put stress on

imbalances in the economical arena. These economic system can be characterized as Laissez faire
economy, command economy and a mixed economy, implemented by each state. Within those
segments of economy, a country can have companies following different structures of industries in the
marketplace with distinctive levels of competitions.

the types of industries involved here. An industry can be described in four types; Pure competition,
monopoly, monopolistic competition and oligopoly.

Last, but not least industry is the monopoly industry and this is the industry we will dig further in this
discussion.
Since monopolistic competition or oligopolistic market structures are the most commons in the United

important to understand the fundamental of this industry.
In the monopolist industry only one seller sells a products and take over the control of those products.
In this industry there is no close substitutes. Its also important to understand that in order for that to

Essay on Australian Visions
Australian Visions Strictly ballroom by Baz Luhrman is a specular film that conveys many Australian

extreme close up of his ugly, red face and his quote to ken railings This years is your . Liz, Shirley and
all the ballroom dancers are conformed to his rules without understanding his personality as being
corrupt and villain. Such as Liz who is mostly shown in yellow colours show her inability to face the
truth about corruption and power dominated world of ballroom dancing. The ballroom dancing
conformity to federation rules represents a fear of change in part of Australian society that discourages
creativity and spontaneity challenging Scott and Fran s individuality. Scott does not want to follow the
federation s rules and wants to express his creativity by doing his own steps reinforcing the Australian
vision of individuality. Scott also wants to win the championship, but not lose his identity by
compromising his creativity and individuality. It can be seen by his shirt number 100, representing his
perfection but while doing his own steps the pause image of number 100 shows us that he is no longer
perfect in the eyes of ballroom dancing and so therefore he will have to pay cost for his individuality
and creativity. This shows that in order to succeed

To Mr.Brown s culture, if all you care about is money, you aren t going to be accepted often. You will be viewed as selfish, greedy and not many people will generally like you. Money is freedom in his culture, as you can do more enjoyable and expensive events with that money. But he knows that money is valueless when you die. Either you go to Heaven or Hell in his beliefs, and money is useless in both places. Therefore, an economy is clearly important to have, since probably anarchy would ensue without a stable economy system, but some people take it too seriously. Money isn t everything in his culture. The causative agents of the plague are Yersinia pestis Gram negative bacteria. • 5. Effects Of Inspiration In Edgar Allan Poe Title: Finding Inspiration Through Catastrophe Edgar Allan Poe once said, With me, poetry has not been a purpose, but a passion. When stressed, literature was his coping mechanism, and through observation, many grasp how much death encompassed Poe. Although not appreciated during his era, he revolutionized mystery with mesmerizing story plots that yield suspense but also make readers question his stability. Most importantly, unlike those famous during his lifetime, Poe s legacy will live on. Moreover, throughout life, Poe experienced catastrophes, and because of this, writing became his creative outlet. Poe parents, Elizabeth and David, both aspiring actors, died when he was three. Although he remembered them briefly, their demise altered his outlook on life. Nevertheless, refuge found him through John and Francis Allan, who accepted his ambitions with reluctance as they envisioned him managing the family business. While growing up, they urged him again and again in leaning towards another career, but his passions outweighed their gratification. Since he remained stubborn, they provided him with little support during college years. Consequently, Poe fell into a large amount of debt and began gambling. Therefore, stricken by destitution and humiliated, he quit school and traveled home, only to discover his girlfriend with another man. Overall, Poe s youth was marked by ill fated events which became the building blocks for his writing. For instance, in The Cask of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Contrasts between Zeffirelli and Luhrmann s Romeo and Juliet There are many differences, large and small, between Zeffirelli and Luhrmann s version of Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet. After seeing the first scene of both of these films, some notable contrasts became clear. The props used in both films differ greatly, in the 1967 version, very dated costumes were used, it looked like the director wanted a medieval style to be shown in the film judging by the costumes and props used. Real swords were drawn by the Capulet s and the Montague s as the play suggests but the fighting seemed quite unbelievable to a modern day viewer as did some of the stalls used in the small market surroundings. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The scenery in each play also differs greatly; the 1967 version is set in a medieval village with castles and a small market. Again its age shows as the buildings and backdrops look quite fake against the modern scenery in the 1997 film. Good lighting is used in the older film but again the newer one has realistic effects and buildings and overall has better quality scenery. In both films, certain lines are missed out or changed slightly; I think the language used is basically the same but in the market it was hard at times to hear what exactly was being said over all the noise of the villagers. Although Luhrmann did a good job of bringing modern props into the film, the language used in play sounded odd coming from modern people, dressed in modern clothes at a petrol station. So I think the older film did a better job with the language despite the hearing difficulty in some parts. The Acting quality was good in both films, but I found the style in the early 1967 version was boring and the fight scenes were slightly unbelievable. The 1997 version was more exciting and kept u interested but there wasn t really much between the two films in the quality of acting. Finally I looked at the different camera techniques used, it was interesting to see that both plays had shots of the legs or shoes of one of the families, Zeffirelli shot ... Here, she compares herself to a lamb; which is an animal that Jesus was often compared, and is even directly called the Lamb of God. In the story of the Christian faith, there is not a single person more righteous than Jesus of Nazareth. The Death Of A Star Palacios 1 Kimberly Palacios English 1A 60 Professor Kathleen Gurnett 29 October 2015 Just Like Humans If a person was to be asked to describe our life stages, they would probably say something like people are born, they live, and then they die. Of course, they aren t wrong, but we humans go through beautiful stages before reaching death. We go through stages such as infancy, childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. In many ways, Stars are just like humans. They also go through astonishing stages, all leading up to its death. The death of a star will probably be one of the most beautiful and terrifying moments we wont get to witness. But our sun being such a key factor in our everyday life, is reason enough to know the importance of its life cycle and the process it will undertake as it begins to perish. But in order to understand how and why a star dies we first must ask ourselves: what exactly makes up a star? We might look at the sun and think Hmm, well it just looks like a big ball of fire to me. The central language used to express the grievances of Rastafarians is known globally as the music genre, Reggae. It is not merely coincidental that the country pregnant with such radical motives also gave birth to its own music brand. By examining the music of artists such as Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Luciano and more, we can deduce that Reggae music served and continues to serve as the most prominent vehicle for the spread of Rastafarianism. The Rastafari Movement emerged in Jamaica in the 1930s out of desires to defeat the crippling British colonial culture and to establish an identity based on the reclamation of African heritage. Religious and Ethnic Diversity Religious and Ethnic Diversity ETH 125 February 3, 2013 Religious and Ethnic Diversity Mormonism is a uniquely American religion, have been founded by Joseph Smith Jr., of New York ( The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints , 2013). Mormonism originated in the 1820s, as described by the Church s website, when Joseph Smith Jr. was confused and frustrated by the various Christian religions and was unable to choose one to follow. He turned to the Bible, which told him to ask God when he lacked wisdom. So he prayed to God, and was visited by the Heavenly Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. All ethnicities, at one time or another, have suffered from prejudice at the hands of another ethnic group. Most African Americans living in the United States today have ties to slavery, meaning that they are the descendants of slaves. Following that back even further, a huge majority of the entire immigration of Black people to the Americas was through the transatlantic slave trade. Throughout our country s history, Black people have faced discrimination and prejudice, which they have fought to overcome. The greatest advancement towards overcoming this discrimination was the abolishment of slavery during The Civil Way. However, being freed did not mean that they were able to live as freely as other Americans. The battle for other rights and an end to segregation lasted another century. Even today, discrimination against Black people is all too prolific. In any case, whether a religious group, a racial group, or an ethnic group, prejudice and discrimination has the same basic causes. One group attempts to give themselves a better opportunity through the oppression of another group, or one group lacks understanding in regards to another group. The only solutions to prejudice is through understanding, critical thinking, and diversity. References Bushman, R. L. (2008). Mormonism: A Very Short Introduction. • 22. Van Gogh And Olive Christ In The Garden Of Olives Van Gogh got excited over the look of these trees and painted them. Some of his paintings of the trees represented life, others represented how he felt about Christ in Gethsemane, and others represented a combination of both of these things. An example of an art piece that had a lot to do with religion was Olive Trees with Alpilles in the Background (Fig. 6). This piece was painted with Christ in Gethsemane in mind. He wanted to create a piece that used a more purer and serence sense of nature without using religious imagery. With this piece he wanted to show it was possible to paint the meaning of Christ in the Garden of Olives, the garden of Gethsemane where Christ prayed the night before his crucifixion, without aiming straight for the historical Garden of Gethsemane. Vincent had done religious paintings before, he actually painted Christ in the arden of Olives twice before, but both times he decided not to paint the images of Christ since, as he said in a letter to his brother Theo, he did not want to do figures of such importance without a model. Van Gogh actually had begun to avoid doing religious work around this time for both aesthetic and moral reasons. Van Gogh had rejected what he believed to be his parents narrow religionious views and went for a much different view, one where life itself almost didn t seem to matter of have purpose, something close to Nihilism. Vincent instead tried to find meaning in the cycles of nature and how they related to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Uganda, this sadly isn t an unusual occurrence. Children and their families live in fear of being captured and made into child soldiers against their will. Led by Joseph Kony, the Lord s Resistance Army has abducted over 30,000 children in Uganda and forced them to fight in war. These children are forced to become brutal killing machines, and lose touch with their livelihood, morals and ultimately their childhood. A student at MHS should care about the child soldiers in Uganda because children are the future of a country. If children grow up in inhumane conditions and trained to be violent from a young age, they will grow up into antagonistic adults that our generation will have to deal with later on in life. The Lord s Resistance Army, or the LRA, is Africa s most violent armed group and also the oldest. Joseph Kony formed the LRA in 1986 in northern Uganda, to fight against the Ugandan Government. At the height of the conflict, about two million people were displaced in northern Uganda. Since the LRA never gained public support, they turned to forcible recruitment to build up their army ( The Lord s Resistance Army ). There are so many children in the foster care system that need loving and stable homes so why not let gay couples give that to them? There is a lot of evidence to show that gay couples can be just as good at parenting as a straight couple. Not a single study has found a difference (between children of gay and straight parents) that you can construe as harmful. (Dan Gilgoff, 2005) While the debate continues on whether or not to allow gay couples to adopt, the numbers of children with gay parents keeps increasing. Children with gay parents thrive and continue to do just as well as children in straight homes. However, critics disagree and feel that children living in gay homes are at risk of having an unhappy life. Gregory Rogers, a writer living in South Africa, believes that children in gay homes will have issues that include the instability of homosexual relationships, evidence of widespread pedophilia within the gay community, and the possible psychological and social problems associated with children reared in homes without a mother and a father. Rogers believes it is wrong to trust homosexual couples with the fragile and impressionable development of children.(2013) Even though a lot of people feel the same way that Rogers does, that does not mean that it is true. Statistics have shown that children that are raised by gay parents do just as good as children raised by straight parents.
