Descriptive Essay On A Basketball Game
Score! Lee County takes another point in the volleyball tournament says the announcer. The team
starts to fall apart as we lose our game towards Lee County High School home of the Lady Trojans.
The score is 24 14 as we fall behind. While i m sitting on the bench waiting to sub in with my other
teammate I began to feel nervous. What if I mess up the game for everyone. 7 for 40 you may go. says
the Ref. I start to play with my hands which is a sign of me getting nervous about something. All the
players in Lee County are very serious and aggressive, which is a good thing just not to the extent they
are. The whistle begins to blow for the girl on the other team to serve the ball. Right when she hits the
ball I noticed the ball was heading straight towards me Mine mine mine! I said. My arms extended out
into the playing position and I passed the ball to Nicky which is our setter. The setter on the team has a
hard position because they constantly hear us call for the setter to set us a ball to hit and they have to
be able to get to the ball to receive a second hit. Unfortunately Lee County got the winning point to
this game but the next time we play them we will have the winning point. Once we returned to the
high school my mom was waiting on me in the car. How was the game? Did you win? she asked me.
The more I thought about the game it upsetted me even more. Well we lost. I replied. The whole ride
home was silent except the sound of the radio talking about all the

Is There A, Narcissism Epidemic, Among Contemporary Young...
The issue for the last critique article is, Is there a Narcissism Epidemic among contemporary young
adults? Yes I do believe that there is a narcissism epidemic among young adults. I am a young adult as
we speak, and being a young adult I started to change, and recognize my behavioral had shift gear to a
whole another dimension, which it all started when I started my freshman year in college. Jean M.
Twenge argues that The Age of Anxiety? Birth Cohort Change in Anxiety and Neuroticism, 1952
1993. Jean M. Twenge also agreed on the issue. Her article presents the results from two meta
analyses examining self reports of anxiety and neuroticism. Jean M. Twenge finding demonstrate that
both college students and schoolchildren report increases in these characteristic. Her suggestion was
low social connectedness and environmental threats are responsible for these changes. I feel as though
this is agreeable because I think all college students come to college with anxiety and neuroticism, and
reasons because of low social connectedness, and environmental threat. Social connectedness model
focuses on social exclusion as particularly important to anxiety. When you exclude that social
connectedness, it then becomes a lack of connection in a society, may produce alienation and feeling
of loneliness and despair. Environmental threat connects the same way. Environmental threat is
basically violent crime, the nuclear war, fear of diseases such as AIDS, and the entrance of women

Cognitive Dysfunctions
Memory takes the information that we receive, through vision, hearing, and touch, and places that
information into a usable form and stores that information for later use. Drug addicts, however, have
cognitive dysfunction as the areas of the brain that deal with addiction also destroy those same parts of
the brain that deal with cognitive functions which include memory.Although many studies have been
done in regards to the use of drugs and the damage they do both physically and mentally, there has not
been much research systematically about the direct effects that opiates can have on the brain and the
cognitive functions. This paper will look at the various research that has been done and take a look at
the destructive effects that drugs, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not understanding these adverse effects of opiates is what got us all to the point we are at today. The
studies that have been performed over the last two decades have brought many harsh realities to light
about the wonder painkiller drug. It is time to offer new research in alternative pain medication reeds
and come to better pain management techniques and drug choices. It is clear from the research that
opiates cannot be used as directed for a sustained amount of time, nor can they closely monitored by
individuals as these drugs modify the brain s pleasure centers into craving drug that is supposed to
help. I am not for the complete abolishment of these drugs, however, responsibility for its abuse is
going to have to fall on those individuals who prescribe it, and the responsibility for treatment if and
when abuse occurs, should also fall on those same

The Single Most Important Argument As Regards To Hobbes’
The single most important argument as regards to Hobbes conception of human nature is that of its
pessimism, as it is this pessimistic view that brings Hobbes to his conclusion that the state of nature is
as objectionable as his view describes it to us. Hobbes argues that every man is characterised by his
view that, despite a few who, through mutual recognition or admiration, he believes to be his equal, he
is endowed most liberally with the faculty of wisdom. In this way, contends Hobbes, all men are equal
in that they all believe the same of themselves, and thus, their equal stature fosters an equality in
desires and their ability, in their own minds, to realise them. The result of this is that where men desire
what they cannot both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And consequently among men , he contends, there ariseth on that ground, envy, hatred, and finally
war; but amongst these [ants and bees] not so. It is therefore on three main grounds that men disagree
competition , diffidence , and glory , and it is the resultant self interested acts of men that set out the
foundations upon which Hobbes vision of the state of nature is constructed. Hobbes state of nature,
therefore, is one that is as equally pessimistic as his view of human nature. The state of nature, for
Hobbes, is that of anarchy, in the sense that there is no over arching power to constrain the actions of
men, and is one in which there are limited resources. Man is thus driven by his desires as described
above, and in that all men are essentially free, pursues them forsaking all others. As resources are
limited, and all men have the same essential desires, not everyone has the ability to realise these
desires. The result of this is a state which Hobbes calls war of every man against every man . Hobbes
can be no plainer in his explanation than with the following: At this time, he says, there is continual
fear, and danger of violent death; and the life of man is solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short .
Consequently, as a product of the state of war against all and man s need to use all he can in order to
guarantee his conservation, it

Opera Today Research Paper
Opera is just as popular as it was years ago. In the past groups of individuals used to meet up in opera
houses to watch the host perform a play or a musical. As of now most opera is played through music
cd s and DVD s, which is far less cheaper than purchasing a ticket to see a live show. Opera today still
takes place on stage and in theaters. The high cost of production can sometimes make it not possible to
have a live show which is very common in today s time. Majority of the opera songs that are played
today come from jazz, folk , and rock musicals.
Modern opera now uses electrical equipment to improve hearing and visual aid. The most common
form of opera in the 20th and 21th century is rock musicals. This type of musical is just like

Refugee Reflection
The refugee exhibit in Pioneer Square was set up into different sections where each section told a
story of the struggles, and reasons behind a refugees, migrants, asylum seekers, perspective of why
they need to leave their home countries. In the beginning you are given a card, which holds an identity
of an asylum seeker, migrant, international displaced people, refugee, and you are to become that
person. We were then told to select five items that we thought were beneficial for our journey. In my
experience I was an asylum seeker from Afghan. The five things I selected were a cell phone to
contact family when I crossed the border and tell them I m fine. The next item was money for
expenses, an animal, passport to have identification, and lastly water so I stayed hydrated. I thought it
was easy enough until the tour guide explained the circumstances. When refugees start their journee to
leave their homeland they don t think about valuables, but the necessities of what they will need for
the long journey before them. I learned that each trip you take you lose a valuable, you have to give up
(exchange) something in order to attain something new such as, a boat ride, food, a charger to charge
your phone, which as I learned was what most refugee desired to keep communications between
family. I learned people in different countries they reached would charge them to charge their phone,
or had to receive something in return. I learned that it caused conflict and it was later

The 1999 American psychological thriller The Talented Mr. Riley was directed by Anthony Minghella

to multiple cities in Italy. The film stars Matt Damon as Tom Ripley, who is hired by his boss to go to
Italy and retrieve his son, Dickie Greenleaf (Jude Law). While he ventures to return Mr. Greenleaf s
son to him, he meets Dickie s fiancé, Marge Sherwood (Gwyneth Paltrow) and is accepted into their

In the film The Talented Mr. Ripley, director Anthony Minghella uses the portrayed actions of Tom
Ripley to accentuate the notion that men would rather sin to become a false somebody rather than
return to their antecedent real nothingness. The film opens with Mr. Ripley s first lie as he is playing
the piano at a luncheon in the place of someone else. Immediately after his performance, he returns the
Princeton University blazer that he was wearing to its rightful owner and returns to work as a
bathroom assistant. Early in the movie, the viewer sees that Tom would rather lie about who he is to
get a taste of the limelight instead of stay devoted to his humble line of work. This instance is not
immensely extreme because most people would trade the task of brushing rich, pompous men s
jackets for the opportunity to show off raw talent. Here, Tom is willing to fake and lie about who he is

Rise Of The Texas Republican Party
Rise of the Texas Republican Party
For decades, the state of Texas was Democratic and then suddenly in 1998 the state flipped to
Republican. Currently, Texas is the boldest Republican state in the country. For so long it was
Democrat and strongly so but it has been Republican now since the nineties. The big question
surrounding this topic is what happened to make it flip suddenly? Well, research provided a very
strong answer that I didn t expect to find. In 1988 two people were voted in that changed everything
for Republicans; Kent Hance and Judge Thomas Phillips were the first republicans voted in since the
Reconstruction. This kick started a Republican makeover of the state that all through the nineties
Texans saw Republicans overtaking Democrats in every area. To understand how this went down in
the nineties there must be an examination of the past. The Democratic party was the face of Texas for
a century until the Republicans came back stronger than ever.
First and foremost, Texas was not colonized by British settlers. This has always made it stand out as a
fiercely independent territory then later a state. The individuals who shaped and formed Texas did so
in such a way to hold tightly onto its fierce independence. This fierce independence was fueled
throughout the first several decades of Texas existence due to invading foreign armies and the daily
struggles of just surviving in the Wild West. Because of this, the people of Texas developed strong
work ethics and a

Social And Social Order In Ancient Roman Society
Social Order: In Roman culture, the society was based on heredity, property, wealth, citizenship and
freedom. Roman society was also patriarchal, where it heavily focused more on the men than women.
Women were expected to produce male heirs and look after the cleaning and maintenance of the
houses they lived in, other than that, they had less independence than men did. Your status in the
world is very important. There were different class ranks which represented a certain group of people.
These classes often interacted with each other. These classes include Slaves, Freemen, Soldiers,
Equestrians, Senators, the Nobility, and the Emperor. These class systems were heavily enforced under
the law. The laws even governed what each class wore for clothing. For example, the Emperor was the
only one allowed to wear a purple toga. Senators were allowed to wear a white toga with a broad
purple stripe along the edge, and horse riders wore togas with a narrow purple stripe. In Roman
society, there was also a system of patronage. Members of the upper class would offer protection and
freedom to freedmen and plebeians, the working class, if they became their cliens , also known as
clients. Freed slaves often became cliens to their former owners. Patronage can include money, food,
or legal help. In return, the upper classmen gained respect and political favors. Roman generals who
conquered lands became the patron to the people of that land. Roman cities and

Elie Wiesel Inhumanity In Night
In the memoir Night, the narrator Elie Wiesel recounts a moment when they were transported to
another concentration camp and forced to run, the ss officers were running as well they had orders to
shoot anyone who could not sustain the pace. (wiesel 85). When they were running to another
concentration camp a boy named zalman got a stomach cramp, felt and got trampled by everyone. As
the author describes his experiences, many other examples of inhumanity and disbelief. One theme in
Night is that inhumanity can cause loss of faith to begin with Elie wiesel sometimes had long
discussions with his friend because he was really religious, he frequently asked him about his faith,

for forgiveness. In those days I fully believed that the salvation of the world depended on every one of
my deeds, on every one of my prayers (wiesel 68). everything that Elie Wiesel said was important to
him because he was losing faith to his god but he tried not to, even though he thought that god left him
and the rest. Also when people revalved they start to lose faith and start to disbelief in positive things.
Another theme in Night is that inhumanity causes become closer to love ones. Take care of your land

The Discourse Of Multiculturalism In Canada
Canada is seen as a democratic society. It is the belief that as Canadians one is supposed to promote
the principles of justice, equality and fairness. In doing so, Canada has become one of the most
diverse country in the world. Most Canadian universities, such as Ryerson, also aims to promote these
democratic values. This done through advertising Canadian universities as inclusive and welcoming to
all students. However, this appears to be a fallacy. The reason why this is a fallacy is because
Canadian society promotes racism and discrimination in the subtlest way possible. Society does this
through making anti discrimination or anti inequity policies, but people still do not see how it
perpetuates. In Frances Henry and authors Race, racialization ... Show more content on

According to Henry Tator, a discourse is the production of knowledge through language and social
practices that brings meaning to interactions with others (2010). Now in terms of the discourse of
multiculturalism, it is described as the tolerance, accommodation, sensitivity, harmony, and diversity
of other cultures (Henry Tator, 2010). Again, multiculturalism is seen as a good quality in Canadian
society. However, in Canadian universities the reality is that people focus on the differences between
others based on skin color. In the article, Henry et al. argues that Canadian universities are not as
tolerant of diversity as it seems to be. Many racialized and Indigenous faculty members and students
feel increasingly marginalized in the university environment due to the traditional, white, homogenous
character that is continuously practiced (Henry, et al., 2016). In other words, even though the
university advertises itself as ethnically and racially diverse, racialized and Indigenous peoples culture
seems to be overlooked. Which most often leads to stereotyping (or an overgeneralization of a group
of people based on race). When it comes to those attempting to implement equity policies, it may be
met with backlash from non racialized faculty members or students. The reason being that one may
not want to address issues of inequity. Canadian universities would rather decide which differences
can be tolerated and which differences cannot be tolerated. In other words, because the dominant
culture claims to be superior to other races, racialized and Indigenous peoples are viewed as inferior.
This should not be the case. Instead, Canadian universities rather than finding changing this, try to
uphold a good reputation and continuously get more students or faculty members to apply to one s
university. One thing that the article did not mention is that, many students of ethnic

Fice Of National Drug Control Policy
The Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) was created by the Anti Drug Abuse Act of
1988 to aid in the declination of illicit drugs within the United States. The ONDCP advises the
president on drug control issues, coordinates drug control activities and related funding across the
Federal government, and produces the National Drug Control Strategy. Within the National Drug
Control Strategy, several goals of the ONDCP are projected. Specifically, this strategy illuminates
seven core goals. The goals are to prevent drug use in communities; seek early intervention
opportunities in health care; integrate treatment for substance use disorder into health care and
supporting recovery; break the cycle of drug use, crime, and incarceration; disrupt domestic drug
trafficking and production; strengthen international partnerships; and improve information systems to
better address drug use and its consequences. The purpose behind these core goals are to aid in the
reduction of substance abuse at an individualistic level so that society can deviate away from illicit
drugs as a whole. One prevention mechanism the ONDCP employ is knowledge. More finely, the
development and distribution of information on youth drug, alcohol, and tobacco use. Examples of
such information can occur by supporting substance abuse prevention on college campuses, expanding
research on understudied substances, or preparing reports on health risks of youth substance use. This
prevention tactic is successful

Richard Wright s Native Son
Richard Wright s book, Native Son, is considered one of the pioneers of African American literature
within mainstream America (Ann Rayson). The book follows Bigger Thomas s journey through self
realization, while exposing the line of racism and its effects in 1930s Chicago. Yet, for an African
American narrative, the story lacks one key character, a strong woman. The women Wright includes in
his story are only there as a tool to better shape Bigger s, or another man s, character. While the lack of
any strong, female character could be based on Richard Wright s own life, his presentation of Mrs.
Thomas, Vera, Mrs. Dalton, Peggy, Mary, and Bessie all lack the characteristics required to fulfill the
strong female lead that African American literature demands. Despite of the reasoning behind
justification or condemnation for Wright s characters, when considering Wright s life it is clear that a
strong female character was missing. Past criticisms of Native Son have normalized Bigger s extreme
violence and commodification towards women, given Bigger s character. In How Bigger was Born
Wright even argues that all characters are portrayed exclusively as seen from Bigger s perspective
(Wright, xxxi). Literary critics and feminist challenge this justification based upon Wright s authority
as the author. They argue instead that If read as the negative polarity of the text, this process of male
reification and appropriation pervades the work. (France, 414). Every woman in the

Clarification Request Strategy
Clarification: when using the clarification request strategy, the teacher basically delivers a message to
the student, indicating that there s an error in his utterance, so that the teacher s repeating is required.
When I teach English, I make extensive use of this method, because it (similar to explicit correction)
immediately signals the student that he made a mistake, and that he should correct himself. Another
reason I think this strategy works, is that it puts the student in a situation where you are indicating that
he had made a mistake, but you, as a teacher, do not explain to him what it is, but let him deal with
this question himself, and correct himself alone.
Repetition: this strategy, of repeating the student error in other intonation (usually a questioning one)
to alert the student that he made a mistake, is a significant and beneficial strategy, especially when the
amendment is made in front of the class. Humans can identify intonation, as well as the ... Show more

the instructor would correct him, to understand where was the mistake and how to correct it. In
addition, I think that explicit correction is a good and meaningful learning strategy, because the
students get a real time correction, in context to what they read. That kind of correction allows the
teacher to ask the student to repeat what he said but in the correct

Freedom Of Speech In John Stuart Mill s On Liberty
In On Liberty (1859), John Stuart Mill was a strong believer of freedom of speech. He identifies the
Harm principle to protect the freedom of thought and expression. He argues that people should not be
silenced for expressing their opinion or how they feel based on their beliefs. He declares four vaguely
arguments and makes several examples as to why freedom of speech is a very important aspect to
society. In this paper, I argue that Mill is correct in declaring that we have the right to express our
opinions as long as it does not bring harm to others. First, I will define how Mill uses the harm
principle to declare his argument and the four distinct reasons for freedom of opinion and the
expression of opinion. Secondly, I will declare my viewpoint based on why I agree with the harm
principle as well as Mill s argument following that we have a right to freedom of expression.
Mill uses the Harm Principle to identify his argument for freedom of speech. The Harm Principle
explains that the government are only justified in interfering with individuals who express their views
if only their views cause harm to others. If a person s actions only affect himself, then society, which
includes the government should not be able to stop a person from doing what he wants. Three ideas
helped shape the harm principle. The first idea, Mill states that the harm principle is composed of the
liberty of expressing and publishing opinions as being important as the liberty of thought, which

Media In Social Media
The Internet allows for the widespread dissemination of information and ideologies amongst
individuals and their communities (Subrahmanyam, Reich, Waechter, Espinoza, 2008). On the
Internet, divergent groups whose values differ from mainstream society can congregate and form like
minded digital communities. Technology and culture reflexively influence and perpetuate each other.
One technological area heavily influenced by existing and changing cultural norms are social
networking sites (SNS). Social networking sites, especially larger ones like Facebook and Twitter,
reflect societal values through their upholding of rules and regulations for content and usage
(Subrahmanyam et al., 2008). For instance, sites may ban hate speech, pornography, or defamation in
a manner similar to laws and common practices in the non digital world ( Facebook Terms of Service,
2016; Twitter Terms of Service, 2016). But what happens when a deviant community grows large
enough to warrant its own social media platform? To what extent should media conglomerates like
Apple and Google act as gatekeepers who determine access to these communities? This is currently
occurring with a new controversial social networking site called Gab whose attempts to launch an
application in the App Store with Apple and Play Store with Google have failed ( Google Faces

The Torah Is The Most Important Text Of The Jewish Faith
Before we can compare the role of the Torah in Orthodox and Conservative Judaism, we need to know
what the Torah is and what is contains. The Torah is the most important text of the Jewish faith. It
contains the first five books of Moses in the Hebrew bible, or the Tanach. The first book, Genesis,
talks about how the world was created by god then subsequently destroyed by him because of the
wickedness within it. Exodus talks about how Moses, who was raised by the Egyptian Pharaoh, left
Egypt, only to return for the Israelites and take them back to the land God Had ordained for them.

The binding nature of halakhah is accepted among Conservative Jews, but they believe that the Law
should be able to change and adapt with the world, while still remaining true to Jewish values. All of
the Orthodox Jews share the key feature of the dedication to both the written and oral Torah (Orthodox
Judiaism).
Read loud in the synagogue, Shabbat Morning prayer is the Torah portion for the week. There can be
several variations within Conservative synagogues. Some are unrecognizable from Reform Judaism,
with the exception that more Hebrew is used. Other synagogues are practically Orthodox. Men and
women sitting together is the exception. Some are very traditional in the reading of the Torah and
prayers, but not in form, while others are more traditional in the form of the service, but not in the
substance contain within it. Both sects of Judaism are very accepting of visitors, in fact, they
encourage it. If a non Jew were to visit, they should dress as if they were going to their own church
with modesty and proper attire. Also, even though the synagogue may differ from your current house
of worship, you should refrain from criticizing the décor. You would not walk into a stranger s house

Essay On Space Shuttle Disaster
Scared, worried and stress were some of the things that I felt at the time. My friends were doing all
they could do to fix the problem. One was listening to whatever the engineers said while the other was
trying to build a oxygen tank from spare parts we had in the shuttle. It had been roughly fifty six
hours, and we had travelled two hundred thousand miles away from Earth. There is nothing or no one
around us; just a empty, cold, dark void that surrounded us.We were missing potable water, we had
very limited power and we were losing cabin heat rapidly.Another rocket wouldn t have been fast
enough to get to us in time before we froze or died of dehydration. Before this expedition, I thought
this was going to be one of the most amazing moments ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I wanted to cry, but I had to remain calm as anxiety and rapid breathing would waste oxygen too
quickly. We were freezing and there wasn t much power to keep the space shuttle alive. Because the
fuel cells generated the Command/Service module s electrical power, when the oxygen tank one ran
dry, the remaining fuels cells shut down. The damage to the Service Module made safe return
impossible for us; so our Lead Flight Director ordered an abort to the mission. The brilliant engineers
back at NASA decided to use the moon s gravity to slingshot back to Earth. Desperate and panicked,
my friend sat down to try to remain calm. I never expected this moment to happen in my life. I started
to sweat, worrying because if i had messed up then I would have killed my friends and myself. The
trajectory had to be perfect. If we heading to much to the moon, we would have crashed. If we were
too far away from the moon, we wouldn t have been caught by the moon s gravity.I started to
remember my wife and children again. Knowing that if I messed up, I would not see them again. I
begin to shake, terrified of the future. I haven t even started and I was doubting myself. I didn t think I
could accomplish the task that was ahead of me. Even though I had the guidance of both, my team at
the space shuttle and back on NASA. After spending several hours, I found myself concentrated on the

of using WUSB, etc. At the same time I will points out the application of using WUSB along with its
specification.
Universal Serial Bus (USB) is a serial bus standard to connect devices to a host computer. The USB
3.0 is the version of the USB. As the USB 3.0 support a raw throughput of 500 M bytes/s, it is also
known as super speed USB. There are many new features that has been included in the universal serial
bus specification. The most important characteristics is its fast speed data transfer. Thus it is possible
for the USB 3.0 to support many more devices than the currently using specification of USB 2.0.

Social Class and Sumerians
The civilization known as the Sumerians, developed in the Mesopotamia era, are considered to be the
first culture to become civilized. As the Sumerians settled in Mesopotamia, a class structure gradually
took shape which allowed them to progress their society. The second characteristic which shows the
civilization of the Sumerians was their ability to create progress in agricultural skills and techniques.
The final characteristic representative in the first culture of Mesopotamia is their contribution to the
development of science and writing. Based on the characteristics that the Sumerians demonstrated we
can come to the conclusion that the Mesopotamia era was civilized.

ensured the values of their religion could be carried on. The new writing system was also important to
the civilization as it allowed people to keep track of what they were trading and made the process of
trading more accurate. The government relied on the new cuneiform system as it gave them a new way
to record laws and policies. With the laws and policies displayed the society good maintain order more

Social Class And Its Effect On Children s Life
On October 23th 1995 at a still undisclosed location, a sniper shot my father. He had been in the
marine of 7 years and a decorated officer and that is everything I ve been told about him to this day.
My mom doesn t mention him and I know none of his relative. Growing up without a parent has a
drastic effect on any child s life. The few people I ve talked to about this often ask why I have never
asked my mother about him and that is hugely due to the circumstances of his death and in some ways
social class. Military kids aren t supposed to cry over loved ones, but honor their memory and respect
their service. We are encouraged to stand strong and often told when younger to make them proud.
Our social class had a lot to do with how I learned to handle this as an officer s son whose mother is
also a high ranking member of the government that pressure to maintain composure was doubled.
Growing up it was often me who was chosen to speak at different memorial and veteran events. I was
poised as somebody other kids who lost parents to look up to, it was up to me to show them how to
act. I was taught young that your actual feelings don t matter only the face you put on to the world. If I
m being honest a second reason I ve never asked is I don t have an interest in learning more it would
only serve to make him real as it is now he is more a mythological figure. In addition to this the fact
that I m a male changed my experiences, in the military traditional gender roles are

The Mapping Of Ip Addresses
ABSTRACT: The mapping of IP addresses to host names is a major problem in rapidly growing
internet. The higher level binding effort went on increasing to different level of development up to the
currently used Domain Name System. DNS, being an open source, it is less secured and it has no
means of determining whether domain name data comes from an authorized domain owner. So these
vulnerabilities lead to a number of attacks. Hence, there is a need of securing DNS. Using Advanced
Encryption Standards, it performs normal encryption. By reversing this encryption, decryption is also
performed. Domain Name System has number of workgroups and these workgroups are connected to

The Meaning Of Coming Of Age Essay
The statement coming of age means to me that you are given more responsibility to do different
things, you are expected to be more mature and more trust is handed to you. These are just a few of
the things that are expected of you when you are coming of age because you are getting closer to
being a responsible, mature and trustworthy adult. The reason that I think you are given more
responsibility when you are coming of age is because you are getting older and about ready to move
out of the house, and when you do there won t be any excuses for not doing things that you are
supposed to do because it s on you for not doing what you are supposed to do. With that, you are given
more and more responsibility until you come of age to get you ready for the real world. ... Show more

Being mature means you have to know when to stop arguing and to respect others. You will be
expected to act like an adult even if you aren t one because if you don t learn how to before you come
of age, you won t be respected properly and it will be hard to get through life without being mature.
Being mature is one of the key things to be in life. In addition to the following expectations you are
expected to be when coming of age, being trustworthy is another key element to life for if you aren t
trustworthy it s very likely that you won t get hire or get fired from the job because how can someone
give you a task if they don t trust that you ll do it. Being trustworthy means to not only tell the truth at
all times but to do the right thing when no one is watching because if you do so, people will not only
trust you to do a simple task but it can be a main point in a

DeVry University
Author Note
This paper was prepared for NETW250 taught by Professor Allison Rubenstein
Course Project Introduction The goal of this document is to come up with a proposal for the company
IP PBX system. In this proposal I will introduce several different Voice over IP vendors, each fully
qualified to becoming our company s new IP PBX system. Only one of the vendors will be selected
based on the criteria laid out by the Chief Information Officer. The vendors I will be evaluating are
Avaya, Genesys, Interactive Intelligence, Mitel, and Siemens. As I mentioned earlier, each one of
these vendors are fully qualified to becoming our company s new IP PBX system but only one ...

This includes email, chat, voice mail, IVR, outbound dial, CTI integration, URL browsing, and CRM
support. Genesys scores very high marks on email, chat, voice mail, IVR, and URL browsing. IVR or
interactive voice response is a system that interacts with callers to gather information and to route
calls to specific employees or agents. The Genesys reports that their IVR system can improve
customer experience by reducing live agent calls by 80%, increase automation rate by 10% with 1.5
million saved annually, and decrease agent talk time by 40% with their intelligent IVR system. The
Genesys IVR system comparable to the Mitel and Siemens IVR systems, which also scored high
marks as well however Genesys edges out the other two in the other categories. Computer telephony
integration is feature that is also very important for the IP PBX system to support. CTI allows
employees or agents to use their computer to initiate and manage calls. It also allows the computer to
direct calls to the right department. The Genesys SoundBite CTI Connect platform has several features
to help call center agent be productive at the workplace. Some of these features include screen pops,
intelligent call routing, and dynamic call pacing into the contact

The Fraternity Lambda Chi Alpha
Additionally, issues of identity and values are important factors in neophytes abilities and willingness
to learn to write in and for new workplaces, as they must choose between ways of thinking and writing
with which they are comfortable and new ways that seem foreign or at odds with their identities and
values (Wardle 285) When I was ïŹrst accepted into The University of Arkansas, the ïŹrst thing that
came to my mind was to put effort into my grades and into building my resume. Those would be my
top priories. Before I knew it I had been accepted into a discourse community of members that were
striving for the same ideals that I was The Greek fraternity Lambda Chi Alpha. Through the proses of
being an initiate, I learned life long core values of community between other members. Interviewing
the president of Lambda Chi Alpha, Luke Crenshaw, I uncovered the rigorous involvement of
academic writing skills and how that plays a giant roll in this discourse community. These benefits are
included in the values and beliefs of a discourse community. According to James Paul Gee, in his
essay Literacy, Discourse, and Linguistics: Introduction and What Is Literacy? He defines the word
discourse in two ways. He separates the two definitions by using a lowercase d and an uppercase D.
Even though technically they are the same word he defines them differently. Discourses are ways of
being in the world; they are forms of life which integrate words, acts, values, beliefs,

Racism And Its Effects On Young Black Males
Racism throughout time has had a powerful negative force in society. There have been many efforts
made to relieve racism. Racism is still present in America, although many people are doing their best
to put a stop to racism and its somewhat devastating effects on young black males in society. You
never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... Until you climb
inside of his skin and walk around in it. (Lee) The negative stereotypes and racial profiling that
Americans hand down from generation to generation are damaging not only to the minorities but to
those perpetuating them as well. The behaviors that are kept alive because of these negative
stereotypes and the behaviors associated with them, create an emotional and social struggle as well as
presenting obstacles when receiving an education and employment opportunities. Racism is the
mishandling or understanding of a group of people on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin,
place of origin, or ancestry. The term racism may also denote a blind and unreasoning hatred, envy, or
prejudice (New Brunswick Human Rights Commission). Although racism is a controversial topic,
other issues have experienced just as much contention. One of these is discrimination. Discrimination
is the denial of equal rights because of someones personal features, such as their race or color. Racial
jokes and ethnic slurs are blatant examples of racial discrimination. Racial slurs and jokes make

Cardiovascular Disease Is The Number One Killer
Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer in the United States, causing about 610,000 deaths
yearly (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2015). Cardiovascular disease is defined as a
group of disorders damaging the heart and blood vessels, usually involving the blockage of vessels,
which in turn harm the heart (WHO, 2015). A 2011 American Heart Association statement predicted
that without intervention, 40% of United States adults will have at least one form of Cardiovascular
disease by 2030. A large portion of these deaths by cardiovascular disease is due to the sedentary
population. To better prevent cardiovascular disease, the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans
Advisory Committee stated that adults should complete about 150 minutes of moderate intensity
physical activity, or 75 minutes of vigorous intensity physical activity weekly (Barry, Blair, Church,
Hooker, Sui, Warren, 2010). Research has shown that meeting these recommendations is linked with
lower cardiovascular disease risk, as well as reduced risk of mortality. The Center for Disease Control
and Prevention estimates that only about 20.3% of Americans meet these guidelines. These statistics
show that the majority of the United States population does not get nearly the amount of physical
activity they need. However, even though many people are not doing the recommended amount of
physical activity, this may not mean that they are living a sedentary life. Living a sedentary lifestyle is

Any field of any occupation would be futile if the aim of the employee, or manager, or operator is
monetary or that of pretentious prestige. Only a few have contributed to not only their fields but to the
world by dedication and altruism that positively affects society as a whole. Kenneth and Mamie Clark,
married African American psychologists, whom influenced the thoughts and behaviors and even
engendered wars to change a moronic ideal set that, back then, came to annihilate the country. Mamie

Continuity Irish Republican Army
The Continuity Irish Republican Army operates in Northern Ireland where it is currently under the
control of United Kingdom. The CIRA are a splinter group from the larger Provincial Irish Republican
Army (PIRA). The CIRA has been recognized as a splinter faction off of the real Irish Republican
Army ever since the middle of the 1980 s (Mueller, 2015). The group has not been conducting attacks
in recent years because they do not have many members. The CIRA is thought to have committed the
attack that took place in 1987, where eleven people were killed in the Northern Ireland town called
Enniskillen (Fletcher, 2008, para. 7).
Groups Objectives
The CIRA s main objective is to rid Northern Ireland of British influence. According to Pike, (2004)
Continuity refers to the groups belief that it is carrying on the original IRA goal of forcing the British
out of Northern Ireland . The reason they are able to commit attacks is because of the amount of
support that they received from various places. The CIRA are known to get funding and weapons from
supporters in the United States. They have also received weapons and materials from the real IRA
operating out of the Balkans (Pike, 2004). The amount of members that an organization has does not
disqualify it for being labeled as a terrorist organization by the United States. The CIRA were
recognized as a terrorist group by the United States on July 13th 2004 by the Department of State
(Pike, 2004).

  • 2. Descriptive Essay On A Basketball Game Score! Lee County takes another point in the volleyball tournament says the announcer. The team starts to fall apart as we lose our game towards Lee County High School home of the Lady Trojans. The score is 24 14 as we fall behind. While i m sitting on the bench waiting to sub in with my other teammate I began to feel nervous. What if I mess up the game for everyone. 7 for 40 you may go. says the Ref. I start to play with my hands which is a sign of me getting nervous about something. All the players in Lee County are very serious and aggressive, which is a good thing just not to the extent they are. The whistle begins to blow for the girl on the other team to serve the ball. Right when she hits the ball I noticed the ball was heading straight towards me Mine mine mine! I said. My arms extended out into the playing position and I passed the ball to Nicky which is our setter. The setter on the team has a hard position because they constantly hear us call for the setter to set us a ball to hit and they have to be able to get to the ball to receive a second hit. Unfortunately Lee County got the winning point to this game but the next time we play them we will have the winning point. Once we returned to the high school my mom was waiting on me in the car. How was the game? Did you win? she asked me. The more I thought about the game it upsetted me even more. Well we lost. I replied. The whole ride home was silent except the sound of the radio talking about all the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Is There A, Narcissism Epidemic, Among Contemporary Young... The issue for the last critique article is, Is there a Narcissism Epidemic among contemporary young adults? Yes I do believe that there is a narcissism epidemic among young adults. I am a young adult as we speak, and being a young adult I started to change, and recognize my behavioral had shift gear to a whole another dimension, which it all started when I started my freshman year in college. Jean M. Twenge argues that The Age of Anxiety? Birth Cohort Change in Anxiety and Neuroticism, 1952 1993. Jean M. Twenge also agreed on the issue. Her article presents the results from two meta analyses examining self reports of anxiety and neuroticism. Jean M. Twenge finding demonstrate that both college students and schoolchildren report increases in these characteristic. Her suggestion was low social connectedness and environmental threats are responsible for these changes. I feel as though this is agreeable because I think all college students come to college with anxiety and neuroticism, and reasons because of low social connectedness, and environmental threat. Social connectedness model focuses on social exclusion as particularly important to anxiety. When you exclude that social connectedness, it then becomes a lack of connection in a society, may produce alienation and feeling of loneliness and despair. Environmental threat connects the same way. Environmental threat is basically violent crime, the nuclear war, fear of diseases such as AIDS, and the entrance of women into ... Cognitive Dysfunctions Memory takes the information that we receive, through vision, hearing, and touch, and places that information into a usable form and stores that information for later use. Drug addicts, however, have cognitive dysfunction as the areas of the brain that deal with addiction also destroy those same parts of the brain that deal with cognitive functions which include memory.Although many studies have been done in regards to the use of drugs and the damage they do both physically and mentally, there has not been much research systematically about the direct effects that opiates can have on the brain and the cognitive functions. It is clear from the research that opiates cannot be used as directed for a sustained amount of time, nor can they closely monitored by individuals as these drugs modify the brain s pleasure centers into craving drug that is supposed to help. • 5. The Single Most Important Argument As Regards To Hobbes’ The single most important argument as regards to Hobbes conception of human nature is that of its pessimism, as it is this pessimistic view that brings Hobbes to his conclusion that the state of nature is as objectionable as his view describes it to us. Hobbes argues that every man is characterised by his view that, despite a few who, through mutual recognition or admiration, he believes to be his equal, he is endowed most liberally with the faculty of wisdom. In this way, contends Hobbes, all men are equal in that they all believe the same of themselves, and thus, their equal stature fosters an equality in desires and their ability, in their own minds, to realise them. The result of this is that where men desire what they cannot both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And consequently among men , he contends, there ariseth on that ground, envy, hatred, and finally war; but amongst these [ants and bees] not so. It is therefore on three main grounds that men disagree competition , diffidence , and glory , and it is the resultant self interested acts of men that set out the foundations upon which Hobbes vision of the state of nature is constructed. Hobbes state of nature, therefore, is one that is as equally pessimistic as his view of human nature. The state of nature, for Hobbes, is that of anarchy, in the sense that there is no over arching power to constrain the actions of men, and is one in which there are limited resources. Man is thus driven by his desires as described above, and in that all men are essentially free, pursues them forsaking all others. As resources are limited, and all men have the same essential desires, not everyone has the ability to realise these desires. The result of this is a state which Hobbes calls war of every man against every man . Hobbes can be no plainer in his explanation than with the following: At this time, he says, there is continual fear, and danger of violent death; and the life of man is solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short . Consequently, as a product of the state of war against all and man s need to use all he can in order to guarantee his conservation, it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As of now most opera is played through music cd s and DVD s, which is far less cheaper than purchasing a ticket to see a live show. Opera today still takes place on stage and in theaters. The high cost of production can sometimes make it not possible to have a live show which is very common in today s time. Majority of the opera songs that are played today come from jazz, folk , and rock musicals. Modern opera now uses electrical equipment to improve hearing and visual aid. Refugee Reflection The refugee exhibit in Pioneer Square was set up into different sections where each section told a story of the struggles, and reasons behind a refugees, migrants, asylum seekers, perspective of why they need to leave their home countries. In the beginning you are given a card, which holds an identity of an asylum seeker, migrant, international displaced people, refugee, and you are to become that person. We were then told to select five items that we thought were beneficial for our journey. In my experience I was an asylum seeker from Afghan. The five things I selected were a cell phone to contact family when I crossed the border and tell them I m fine. The next item was money for expenses, an animal, passport to have identification, and lastly water so I stayed hydrated. I thought it was easy enough until the tour guide explained the circumstances. When refugees start their journee to leave their homeland they don t think about valuables, but the necessities of what they will need for the long journey before them. I learned that each trip you take you lose a valuable, you have to give up (exchange) something in order to attain something new such as, a boat ride, food, a charger to charge your phone, which as I learned was what most refugee desired to keep communications between family. • 10. Rise Of The Texas Republican Party Rise of the Texas Republican Party For decades, the state of Texas was Democratic and then suddenly in 1998 the state flipped to Republican. Currently, Texas is the boldest Republican state in the country. For so long it was Democrat and strongly so but it has been Republican now since the nineties. The big question surrounding this topic is what happened to make it flip suddenly? Well, research provided a very strong answer that I didn t expect to find. In 1988 two people were voted in that changed everything for Republicans; Kent Hance and Judge Thomas Phillips were the first republicans voted in since the Reconstruction. This kick started a Republican makeover of the state that all through the nineties Texans saw Republicans overtaking Democrats in every area. To understand how this went down in the nineties there must be an examination of the past. The Democratic party was the face of Texas for a century until the Republicans came back stronger than ever. First and foremost, Texas was not colonized by British settlers. This has always made it stand out as a fiercely independent territory then later a state. The individuals who shaped and formed Texas did so in such a way to hold tightly onto its fierce independence. This fierce independence was fueled throughout the first several decades of Texas existence due to invading foreign armies and the daily struggles of just surviving in the Wild West. Because of this, the people of Texas developed strong work ethics and a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Social And Social Order In Ancient Roman Society Social Order: In Roman culture, the society was based on heredity, property, wealth, citizenship and freedom. Roman society was also patriarchal, where it heavily focused more on the men than women. Women were expected to produce male heirs and look after the cleaning and maintenance of the houses they lived in, other than that, they had less independence than men did. Your status in the world is very important. There were different class ranks which represented a certain group of people. These classes often interacted with each other. These classes include Slaves, Freemen, Soldiers, Equestrians, Senators, the Nobility, and the Emperor. These class systems were heavily enforced under the law. The laws even governed what each class wore for clothing. For example, the Emperor was the only one allowed to wear a purple toga. Senators were allowed to wear a white toga with a broad purple stripe along the edge, and horse riders wore togas with a narrow purple stripe. In Roman society, there was also a system of patronage. Members of the upper class would offer protection and freedom to freedmen and plebeians, the working class, if they became their cliens , also known as clients. Freed slaves often became cliens to their former owners. Patronage can include money, food, or legal help. In return, the upper classmen gained respect and political favors. • 13. The Discourse Of Multiculturalism In Canada Canada is seen as a democratic society. It is the belief that as Canadians one is supposed to promote the principles of justice, equality and fairness. In doing so, Canada has become one of the most diverse country in the world. Most Canadian universities, such as Ryerson, also aims to promote these democratic values. This done through advertising Canadian universities as inclusive and welcoming to all students. However, this appears to be a fallacy. The reason why this is a fallacy is because Canadian society promotes racism and discrimination in the subtlest way possible. Society does this through making anti discrimination or anti inequity policies, but people still do not see how it perpetuates. In Frances Henry and authors Race, racialization ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Henry Tator, a discourse is the production of knowledge through language and social practices that brings meaning to interactions with others (2010). Now in terms of the discourse of multiculturalism, it is described as the tolerance, accommodation, sensitivity, harmony, and diversity of other cultures (Henry Tator, 2010). Again, multiculturalism is seen as a good quality in Canadian society. However, in Canadian universities the reality is that people focus on the differences between others based on skin color. In the article, Henry et al. argues that Canadian universities are not as tolerant of diversity as it seems to be. Many racialized and Indigenous faculty members and students feel increasingly marginalized in the university environment due to the traditional, white, homogenous character that is continuously practiced (Henry, et al., 2016). In other words, even though the university advertises itself as ethnically and racially diverse, racialized and Indigenous peoples culture seems to be overlooked. Which most often leads to stereotyping (or an overgeneralization of a group of people based on race). When it comes to those attempting to implement equity policies, it may be met with backlash from non racialized faculty members or students. The reason being that one may not want to address issues of inequity. Canadian universities would rather decide which differences can be tolerated and which differences cannot be tolerated. In other words, because the dominant culture claims to be superior to other races, racialized and Indigenous peoples are viewed as inferior. This should not be the case. Instead, Canadian universities rather than finding changing this, try to uphold a good reputation and continuously get more students or faculty members to apply to one s university. • 14. Fice Of National Drug Control Policy The Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) was created by the Anti Drug Abuse Act of 1988 to aid in the declination of illicit drugs within the United States. The ONDCP advises the president on drug control issues, coordinates drug control activities and related funding across the Federal government, and produces the National Drug Control Strategy. Within the National Drug Control Strategy, several goals of the ONDCP are projected. Specifically, this strategy illuminates seven core goals. The goals are to prevent drug use in communities; seek early intervention opportunities in health care; integrate treatment for substance use disorder into health care and supporting recovery; break the cycle of drug use, crime, and incarceration; disrupt domestic drug trafficking and production; strengthen international partnerships; and improve information systems to better address drug use and its consequences. The purpose behind these core goals are to aid in the reduction of substance abuse at an individualistic level so that society can deviate away from illicit drugs as a whole. One prevention mechanism the ONDCP employ is knowledge. More finely, the development and distribution of information on youth drug, alcohol, and tobacco use. Examples of such information can occur by supporting substance abuse prevention on college campuses, expanding research on understudied substances, or preparing reports on health risks of youth substance use. • 16. Richard Wright s Native Son Richard Wright s book, Native Son, is considered one of the pioneers of African American literature within mainstream America (Ann Rayson). The book follows Bigger Thomas s journey through self realization, while exposing the line of racism and its effects in 1930s Chicago. Yet, for an African American narrative, the story lacks one key character, a strong woman. The women Wright includes in his story are only there as a tool to better shape Bigger s, or another man s, character. While the lack of any strong, female character could be based on Richard Wright s own life, his presentation of Mrs. Thomas, Vera, Mrs. Dalton, Peggy, Mary, and Bessie all lack the characteristics required to fulfill the strong female lead that African American literature demands. Despite of the reasoning behind justification or condemnation for Wright s characters, when considering Wright s life it is clear that a strong female character was missing. Past criticisms of Native Son have normalized Bigger s extreme violence and commodification towards women, given Bigger s character. In How Bigger was Born Wright even argues that all characters are portrayed exclusively as seen from Bigger s perspective (Wright, xxxi). Literary critics and feminist challenge this justification based upon Wright s authority as the author. They argue instead that If read as the negative polarity of the text, this process of male reification and appropriation pervades the work. (France, 414). Every woman in the ... Clarification Request Strategy Clarification: when using the clarification request strategy, the teacher basically delivers a message to the student, indicating that there s an error in his utterance, so that the teacher s repeating is required. When I teach English, I make extensive use of this method, because it (similar to explicit correction) immediately signals the student that he made a mistake, and that he should correct himself. Another reason I think this strategy works, is that it puts the student in a situation where you are indicating that he had made a mistake, but you, as a teacher, do not explain to him what it is, but let him deal with this question himself, and correct himself alone. Repetition: this strategy, of repeating the student error in other intonation (usually a questioning one) to alert the student that he made a mistake, is a significant and beneficial strategy, especially when the amendment is made in front of the class. • 19. Freedom Of Speech In John Stuart Mill s On Liberty In On Liberty (1859), John Stuart Mill was a strong believer of freedom of speech. He identifies the Harm principle to protect the freedom of thought and expression. He argues that people should not be silenced for expressing their opinion or how they feel based on their beliefs. He declares four vaguely arguments and makes several examples as to why freedom of speech is a very important aspect to society. In this paper, I argue that Mill is correct in declaring that we have the right to express our opinions as long as it does not bring harm to others. First, I will define how Mill uses the harm principle to declare his argument and the four distinct reasons for freedom of opinion and the expression of opinion. Secondly, I will declare my viewpoint based on why I agree with the harm principle as well as Mill s argument following that we have a right to freedom of expression. Mill uses the Harm Principle to identify his argument for freedom of speech. The Harm Principle explains that the government are only justified in interfering with individuals who express their views if only their views cause harm to others. If a person s actions only affect himself, then society, which includes the government should not be able to stop a person from doing what he wants. Three ideas helped shape the harm principle. Media In Social Media The Internet allows for the widespread dissemination of information and ideologies amongst individuals and their communities (Subrahmanyam, Reich, Waechter, Espinoza, 2008). On the Internet, divergent groups whose values differ from mainstream society can congregate and form like minded digital communities. Technology and culture reflexively influence and perpetuate each other. One technological area heavily influenced by existing and changing cultural norms are social networking sites (SNS). Social networking sites, especially larger ones like Facebook and Twitter, reflect societal values through their upholding of rules and regulations for content and usage (Subrahmanyam et al., 2008). For instance, sites may ban hate speech, pornography, or defamation in a manner similar to laws and common practices in the non digital world ( Facebook Terms of Service, 2016; Twitter Terms of Service, 2016). One was listening to whatever the engineers said while the other was trying to build a oxygen tank from spare parts we had in the shuttle. It had been roughly fifty six hours, and we had travelled two hundred thousand miles away from Earth. There is nothing or no one around us; just a empty, cold, dark void that surrounded us.We were missing potable water, we had very limited power and we were losing cabin heat rapidly.Another rocket wouldn t have been fast enough to get to us in time before we froze or died of dehydration. Because the fuel cells generated the Command/Service module s electrical power, when the oxygen tank one ran dry, the remaining fuels cells shut down. The damage to the Service Module made safe return impossible for us; so our Lead Flight Director ordered an abort to the mission. The brilliant engineers back at NASA decided to use the moon s gravity to slingshot back to Earth. Desperate and panicked, my friend sat down to try to remain calm. I never expected this moment to happen in my life. I started to sweat, worrying because if i had messed up then I would have killed my friends and myself. The trajectory had to be perfect. If we heading to much to the moon, we would have crashed. If we were too far away from the moon, we wouldn t have been caught by the moon s gravity.I started to remember my wife and children again. Knowing that if I messed up, I would not see them again. I begin to shake, terrified of the future. I haven t even started and I was doubting myself. I didn t think I could accomplish the task that was ahead of me. Even though I had the guidance of both, my team at the space shuttle and back on NASA. Growing up without a parent has a drastic effect on any child s life. The few people I ve talked to about this often ask why I have never asked my mother about him and that is hugely due to the circumstances of his death and in some ways social class. Racism is still present in America, although many people are doing their best to put a stop to racism and its somewhat devastating effects on young black males in society. You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it. (Lee) The negative stereotypes and racial profiling that Americans hand down from generation to generation are damaging not only to the minorities but to those perpetuating them as well. The behaviors that are kept alive because of these negative stereotypes and the behaviors associated with them, create an emotional and social struggle as well as presenting obstacles when receiving an education and employment opportunities. Racism is the mishandling or understanding of a group of people on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, place of origin, or ancestry. The term racism may also denote a blind and unreasoning hatred, envy, or prejudice (New Brunswick Human Rights Commission). Although racism is a controversial topic, other issues have experienced just as much contention. One of these is discrimination. • 32. Cardiovascular Disease Is The Number One Killer Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer in the United States, causing about 610,000 deaths yearly (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2015). Cardiovascular disease is defined as a group of disorders damaging the heart and blood vessels, usually involving the blockage of vessels, which in turn harm the heart (WHO, 2015). A 2011 American Heart Association statement predicted that without intervention, 40% of United States adults will have at least one form of Cardiovascular disease by 2030. A large portion of these deaths by cardiovascular disease is due to the sedentary population. To better prevent cardiovascular disease, the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans Advisory Committee stated that adults should complete about 150 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity, or 75 minutes of vigorous intensity physical activity weekly (Barry, Blair, Church, Hooker, Sui, Warren, 2010). Research has shown that meeting these recommendations is linked with lower cardiovascular disease risk, as well as reduced risk of mortality. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that only about 20.3% of Americans meet these guidelines. These statistics show that the majority of the United States population does not get nearly the amount of physical activity they need. However, even though many people are not doing the recommended amount of physical activity, this may not mean that they are living a sedentary life. Living a sedentary lifestyle is ... The CIRA are a splinter group from the larger Provincial Irish Republican Army (PIRA). The CIRA has been recognized as a splinter faction off of the real Irish Republican Army ever since the middle of the 1980 s (Mueller, 2015). The group has not been conducting attacks in recent years because they do not have many members. The CIRA is thought to have committed the attack that took place in 1987, where eleven people were killed in the Northern Ireland town called Enniskillen (Fletcher, 2008, para. 7). Groups Objectives The CIRA s main objective is to rid Northern Ireland of British influence. According to Pike, (2004) Continuity refers to the groups belief that it is carrying on the original IRA goal of forcing the British out of Northern Ireland . The reason they are able to commit attacks is because of the amount of support that they received from various places. The CIRA are known to get funding and weapons from supporters in the United States. They have also received weapons and materials from the real IRA operating out of the Balkans (Pike, 2004).
