The purpose of this communication is to generalize the theorem of Pythagoras using the corresponding area formulas for different geometric figures used in experience; the aim is to look at the possibility of Demosthenes this relationship using different geometric figures squared, showing how calculators can be used to explore the situation and give account of the difficulties that students with geometric concepts.

Cultural heritage is a basic component of each country, as it includes all values from past to future. In other words is treasure through the years. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) included in many subjects in curriculum. In the digital era the Europeana DSI-4 project (http://fcl.eun.org/europeana-dsi4 ), implemented and supported by the European School Network (www.eun.org ) offered many opportunities for the integration the use of digital cultural heritage in teaching in STEM learning environments. Presentation of how STEM teachers could use Europeana collections for educational purposes in STEM classroom. Scientix conference in Greece 4.9 Workshop for Career Education to STEMPanagiota Argiri
Summary
The current anxiety about the importance of the STEM sector in the rapidly evolving society, as well as the need for skilled staff stemming from the so-called 'skills gap', make the role of the school crucial and decisive for the mobilization and orientation of the young people in STEM science careers. A brief overview from the international literature highlights the need for collaboration and connection between the secondary education and workplaces. In the first part of the workshop will be presented not only the innovative actions and the focus area of European Schoolnet , but also the recourses and projects of Scientix that support the educational community to prepare young people for STEM careers. In particular, will be presented very important initiatives Professional Go Back at School and Teacher Placements, which has developed by STEM Alliance to strengthen the co-operation between industry and schools. In addition, these initiatives are framed by the presentation of the results of STEM career events with the presence of professionals in the schools, as well as providing guidance to teachers, parents and business based on booklets and guides and on the digital tool (www.stemalliance.eu/pgbs_tool) to set up community partnerships for STEM counseling careers. In the second part of the workshop, appropriate structured questionnaires will be completed by the participants, with the main goal the syntax of methodological school plan strategies for the creation of STEM career guidance scenarios.

An overview of the current supply and demand state for tertiary STEM graduates, in EU Member States, calls on governments and social partners to strengthen the linkages between education systems and the world of work. The purpose of this webinar is to present a review of initiatives of European co-funded projects (included in Scientix repository), with a set of guidelines and methodological tools, that aim to help to decrease the mismatch between education and labor market.
In particular, the framework and the outputs of the European project DESCI will be presented in the webinar.
The webinar analyzes the DESCI TOOLKITS and METHODOLOGIES that were developed based on the Living Lab approach, adopting participatory design methodologies, connecting school, enterprise, research and territory.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

1. Inquiry lesson plan for Thales
(Geometry)
Based on mathematician book
“The Parrot's Theorem by Denis Guedj”
Chapter 3 page 60-68
.
2. Introduction
Students are aware of the achievements of the great
ancient Greek mathematicians and apply their
mathematical knowledge of the revival of the historical
method of calculating the height of the pyramid of
Cheops by Thales.
3. Questions:
• What do you know about Thales?
• See the follow videos
https://youtu.be/YHboJiVmYWE
• Discuss with your classmates which of
presented geometry concepts are you
know?
• Write a list of basic theorems in geometry
based to Thales.
4. Answer:
1) The circle is separated from its diameter into
two sections of equal area.
2) The vertical angles are equal.
3) Each isosceles triangle has its base angles equal.
4) Equality criterion of triangles: Two triangles are
equal when they have one side equal and the
angles adjacent to that side are equal.
5) Any corner recorded in a semicircle is correct.
6) If two lines ε and ε are intersected by three or
more parallel ones, then the straight line defined
in line ε is proportional to the corresponding
segments of e contained between the same
parallel.
5. Making design activities for preparation
calculate the height of pyramid
Thales Theorem
Teachers’ notes
The main objective is to understand the meaning
of the proportion of corresponding straight lines
defined on two intersecting three at least parallel
lines so that students become able to formulate
the Thalia theorem.
In addition to understanding and applying the
inverse of Thales' Theorem as a criterion of
parallelism of 3 or more lines.
6. Expansion of Thales’ theorem in the
case of the similarity of the triangles
Teachers’ notes
• Reminder of the definition of the similarity of two
polygons.
• Two triangles are the same when they have two
angles equal to one or the respective sides of the
triangles.
• Students apply Thale's theorem in the case of
parallel triangle side, identify and prove
proportional relations between the sides of the
two triangles formed.
• This particular phase of exploratory learning is
very basic for the hypothesis modeling in the
method of calculating the heap pyramid height
Activity
7. Inquiry phase
• Due to the similarity of rectangular triangles,
there is a constant relationship between a
height of an object and its shadow and the
height of the next object and its shadow. In
this case you use the equal proportions
between the height of an object and its
shadow and height and your shadow.
Ho / So = Hψ / Sψ.
• In addition, students should think that the
length of the shadow of the pyramid ("So") is
"a fantastic length of its shadow". The length
of its actual shadow results from the
deduction of the DB = 1/2 of the length of its
base.
Calculate the height of pyramid
Video reviewing the method

8. Analysis
• The area and volume of the pyramid of
Cheops
1) If two triangles have equal bases to formulate
the ratio given by their area ratio.
2) If two triangles are equal in height to formulate
the relation given by the ratio of their area.
3) Based on the definition of two similar triangles
with a similarity ratio λ to formulate the relation
that applies to the ratio of their area.
