Already I can tell that this book is more difficult than most other novels I have
read. It seems as though Roth is in favor of using long sentences and complex
vocabulary. I sometimes had to reread sentences a few times because there was
difficult vocabulary I needed to look up and the sentences were long. I needed to
read each sentence piece by piece to make sure I could understand what the author
wanted to convey to the reader. Although the text seemed overwhelming when I read
the first few pages; once I began reading sentences in increments I could more easily

not one that went smoothly. He was born in a castle in the Okazaki Castle Mikawa
to his parents, Matsudaira Hirotada and Odai no kata, or Lady Odai. He lived from
1543 to 1616. Ieyasu was born for greatness from the beginning. His father was the
daimyo, meaning powerful ruler, of Mikawa and his mother Odai nokata was the
daughter of a nearby samurai lord. Ieyasu s mother and father were step siblings
and had him at a very young age. They separated shortly after his birth due to his
mother being sent back to her family. After a few years both Lady Odai, and
Hirotada remarried and had children giving Tokugawa eleven half siblings total.
Most of Ieyasu s childhood and young adult years were spent in and around danger
due to wars that resulted over his family splitting to pursue different clans. He was

this the ghost is making sure that Hamlet knows that he doesn t want revenge on
his mother for marrying this murderous man. Instead he simply wants revenge on

can be inferred that she did not know that the death of King Hamlet was a murder,
or who was responsible. Another way to tell that Gertrude is clueless about the
murder of King Hamlet is her response to mentions of it. While Gertrude and
Hamlet are arguing in her room, Hamlet makes remarks about what has happened
and she seems genuinely confused and shocked. For example when she says how
horrible of a thing it was for Hamlet to kill Polonius and he asks if it is as bad as

There are many laity use of the word culture that gets thrown around in day to day
conversation amongst our peers. Culture is used to define certain aspects of our
lives and how we live on a daily basis. There are some that believe that they do not
possess a culture. There are others who feel that we all live our own individual
unique culturein our lives. However, being that culture is such a broad subject, the
only way to define it is to operationalize its context and attempt to try and
